001We welcome everyone to tonight's broadcast brought to you by the Student High School broadcasting club here on BHMSD TV. We're here at Bluffton High School where the Heritage Patriots face off against the Bluffton Tigers in an ACAC conference matchup. I'm Jonah Geel and I'm joined tonight by Zayn Betts and we're looking forward to bringing you the action from the Tiger Den. Before we discuss the upcoming matchup, we want to thank the Wells County Foundation for making this opportunity possible. The mission of the Wells County Foundation is to enhance the present and future quality of life of the Wells County community. The Wells County Foundation helps make a difference in our community by connecting donors with charitable causes and organizations they care about, including a wide range of scholarships and community grants such as the one

002that made this webcast possible. Visit www.wellscountyfound.org. That's wellcountyfound.org to learn more. We're here in the Tiger Den as the C team matchup just finished between the Patriots and the Tigers as the Tigers had a commanding 44 to6 victory. from the play we saw setting up our broadcast tonight. Lots of strong guard play from the Tigers as our JV and C team squads are primarily guard centered and also had very physical defense that prevented the Heritage Patriots from getting many looks at the basket. What were your main takeaways watching what we saw probably from the second half of that C team game? >> Uh really the from what I've seen uh not only in this game but in the past C team games, they do a great job of really moving the ball and working the

003other defense. Uh they're definitely very well conditioned in the sense that they can run a half court press for primarily most of most of the game and they are still able to move the ball around and score at such a high pace which just makes them really hard to beat. >> Yeah, as you mentioned that press forcing multiple turnovers there late in the fourth quarter which really I mean the game was already in hand but pulling that game away for the Tigers. For the JV contest tonight, the Patriots come into tonight's contest looking to keep the momentum rolling as them and their varsity teams both enjoy large winning streaks as they come into the Tiger Den. Last season, the Patriots narrowly lost a tight matchup to the Tigers JV squad. So, they'll be looking for

004revenge tonight as we get underway here in Bluffton. The Tigers share their record with the varsity at a 13 and3 record. The Tigers have quite a deep junior varsity squad with a strong rotation of players. Lots of sophomores on this team. Throw in a few juniors and some freshman that might get some playing time. A big key here for the Tigers is again their guard play as the team is primarily made up of guards. How do you look for them to control the pace here against a very physical heritage team? Uh really they are just going to have to really find the inside perimeter look whether that's with the freshman Wyatt Holmes and his C team performance that he just had or if that's uh Cameron Kolinsky the junior that they were wanting to look

005for inside every single time. Uh and we're just going to see if the Heritage can Heritage defense can keep up with this really fast pace and really uh high action Bluffton offense. Yeah, look thinking of like Heritage teams in the past. Very, very strong guard play as their varsity team has two big senior guards that really anchor down that team. They're always looking to speed you up on defense, play very physical defense, turn you over a lot, and on offense, they're just looking to get to the rim. They do have a few shooters on the team, but the main priority for the Patriots is getting to the rim very quickly. A couple nights ago, Bluffson had a narrow 39 to 35 win over the Eastbrook Panthers. Reed Abbott led the way scoring with 18 as

006the rest of the Tigers balanced scoring led them to yet another non-conference win. Before that, earlier in the week or last weekend, excuse me, the Tigers had a massive blowout win at Madison Grant. So, two very strong performances from the Tigers as they look to keep that up in the Tiger Den. We'll take a quick break, give a quick preview of the varsity matchup, and be back with tip off here on BHMSD TV. Back here in the Tiger Den just before tip off and let's meet our starters for tonight's matchup. First for the visitors, the Heritage Patriots. At guard number two, Jackson Kerr. Number three, Sawyer Teley. Number four, Brady Bole. number five East Meyer and number 12 Harold Lawrence. JV coach for the Patriots is Peter Becker. And now the starting lineup for the

007JV Tigers. At guard number three, Andy Bumgardner. At guard number four, Gibson Grezer. At guard number 12, Rafe Gerber. At guard, number 14, Reed Abbott. And rounding out the starters for the Tigers, number 32, Bennett Stler. >> JV Tigers are coached by Luke Royce. >> As we wait for Jeff Cook and I to present the starters here in the Tiger Den, we'll be back with tip off here shortly. Just about to tip off here in the Tiger Den as we present to you our Wells County Foundation scoreboard at the bottom of your screen. Tipping for the Tigers, number three, Andy Bumgardner. And for the Patriots, number 12, Harold Lawrence. Patriots will win the tip and start with possession here in the Tiger Den. as Tigers come out here with a very aggressive looking defense to

008start. >> Patriots moving the ball around quickly here, looking for their open shot. Lots of dribble handoffs near the top of the key. Patriots get an open three and they'll hit it. Number two, Jackson Cerr with the three-point basket puts the Patriots on the board first. Gibson Griezer will bring the ball up here for the Tigers as they set up against what looks like a 3-2 zone here for the Patriots. Tigers take a three of their own. Won't get it as there's a foul on the rebound. Looks like it'll go against the Tigers. >> For a team like the Tigers, rebounding is a very scary place as the Tigers don't have much size and so they give that up in the post and also with that commit more fouls than they would like to on

009those rebounds. Another scary thing is your star, one of your star players for your JB squad, the leading scoreer, Gibson Greaser, getting a foul already when we've played a little over 10 seconds here already in the first quarter. Patriots sticking to the 3-2 zone here on the Tigers second possession. Bennett Bennett Sull's three blocked from the top of the key. Tigers looking to slow their offense down a little bit, get a more high percentage shot. Gibson Griez will get the ball back at the top of the key for the Tigers. So they find Reed in the corner for three. Won't go. Patriots able to crowd the rebound as they take the ball down the floor. offensive foul on the Patriots on that drive. >> Both these teams coming out very aggressive to start this game,

010which if you're a varsity coach, this is what you love to see out of your future athletes in your program. Tigers still looking for their first points of the game here. Just under five, two minutes played. Tigers run the double screen under the basket. Try to get Reed an open three, but they cannot hit the screens that well. Gibson Griez will take a three from the wing. Won't go. Rebounds to the Patriots as Jackson Curl bring the ball down. Takes it all the way to the basket. Just can't convert. So now Bennett will try fast break of his own. Pulls the ball back out. looks for Reed in the wing. >> Reed able to find Rafe Gerber in the post who draws the foul on the shot. He'll get two shots at the free throw

011line here for the Tigers. front end goes in for Rafe Gerber. Puts the Tigers with their first points of the game. Second free throw also good. Perfect from the line for Rafe Gerber. Now Tigers seem to be in a fullcourt press look. That's a very aggressive look for the Tigers as they're looking to slow down this Patriot momentum. >> Bennett almost gets the steal on the fast break without realizing it. Ball bounced off his shoulder and he draws the foul under the basket as looks like Jackson Cerr will be going to the line for the Patriots. >> And what this JV Tiger squad has done so well over the season is just coming out hot, not letting the Patriots or really any of their opponents see any bit of light. And uh I think that's

012going to be a key factor if they want to come out on top with this one. >> Front end good for Jackson Curb has the Patriots up two here early in the first quarter. Second one also good. So extends the Patriots lead to three as Gibson Greaser will bring the ball down yet again for the Tigers. Def deflected pass from Race Verer. >> Tigers look like they're struggling here against this 3-2 zone to find an open shot. Good ball movement here from the Tigers >> without that key post presence. Really not looking inside the paint too much. Really working the ball around the perimeter trying to find probably mainly the open three-point shot. Andy Bum Gunner just loses the ball for the Tigers >> as Brady Bole brings the ball up the court for the

013Patriots. Patriots with multiple driving kicks here on this possession looking for the open three-pointer. It just hasn't been open as the defense from the Tigers guards has been impeccable this quarter. Patriots will take it to the rim. Looks like they'll get a jump ball. >> Possession arrow points to the Tigers. Reed Abbott bringing the ball up this time for the Tigers. >> Lowscoring game here so far. Only seven combined points between the two teams as we are just about two minutes left here in this first quarter. Bennett Ser will take a free three from the corner. Won't go. Oh, Andy Bumgardner with a strong offensive rebound. Reed will try a three. That'll go for him. Reed with the three-pointer ties the game here for the Tigers. >> And that's exactly what the Tigers want to

014do right now is just start getting those shooters the opportunity to hit those threes so they start piling up those points on from the perimeter. >> Patriots yet again looking inside towards the basket. >> Three-pointer won't go, but they get the offensive rebound. Patriots will draw a foul on the way to the basket. No shots on this foul, however, >> as the Patriots will get the ball under the basket. >> Substitution for the Patriots, number 14, Dalon Calhoun. Another strong drive to the rim. Can't connect on the finish. >> Tigers looking to take the lead back here with just over a minute left here in this first quarter. Long pass crosscourt is intercepted by the Patriots as they look to go on the fast break. Don't find the open look, so they'll set up their

015offense here in the half court. >> Patriots can't connect on the three from the top of the key. It's number four Brady Bole with the shot as Reed Abbott will cross the half court line with the ball. Probably looking for the last shot here for the Tigers. >> Gibson Grezer with the ball for the Tigers. They look to milk the clock just under 10 seconds. And Reed will take a three from the wing. Misses the rim. Patriots get the ball on the fast break. Can't convert on the layup as score at the end of the first quarter. All knodded up here at five. We'll be back with the second quarter here on BHMC TV. You are watching Bluffton Tigers athletics on BHMSD TV brought to you by the Bluffton High School Student Broadcasting Club. We'll

Thank you for supporting the BHS student body. Back here in the Tiger Den, all night up at five as we start the second quarter. Both teams looking for a little more offense as we enter the second quarter as the Patriots were just one for six from the field. Tigers one for eight from the field with seven of those shots coming from

017three and they only make also coming from the three-point range. Tigers start out with a turnover. didn't get anything on the fast break, so they'll set up the half court offense. Looks like Alex Maghard, number 30, and number five, Chase Kistler in for the first time here for the Tigers as Reed Abbott knocks down a three, gives the Tigers the three-point lead here early in the second quarter. Patriots carry the ball at the half court line. We'll give the possession back to the Tigers >> as it seems like the Tigers are going to go with a little bit taller of lineup here. Bringing in the junior Alex Maghard and also the defensive specialist Chase Kler. Heritage will call a timeout after back-to-back turnovers. We'll take one with him and be right back here on BHMSD

018TV. >> This coverage of the Bluffton Tigers is brought to you by the Bluton High School Student Broadcasting Club. We'll be right back on BHMSD TV after this break. This coverage of the Bluffton Tigers is brought to you by the Bluffton High School Student Broadcasting Club. We'll be right back on BHMSD TV after Back here in the Tiger D, after the Patriots took a quick timeout after back-to-back turnovers. Tigers able to convert, taking the three-point lead. The Tigers finally settling in here now after a bumpy first quarter. >> Bumpy to say the least for both teams on offense. Both team with just

019one made field goal in the first quarter. The other points coming from free throws. >> That's a bright spot though. At least they are both 100% from their free throws. >> Reed Abbott will take another three. Can't convert. Chase Kistler with the strong offensive rebound. Will get the foul and we'll go to the free throw line for two shots. Sawyer. >> Foul for the Patriots will be on number three. Sawyer Teley >> Kler, a freshman coming into this season. A primarily varsity player as we've seen coming down to the JB squad for the past three games. You wonder if this is to build some confidence going into the bigger games towards the end of the season into sectional play. I would think so to get him more reps, more confidence heading into those key late

020season games and also postseason games. >> Chase will go 0 for two from the free throw line. Blton will get the offensive rebound and Alex Maghard is able to convert on the little floater shot from the right side of the basket. Extends the Tigers lead to five as Heritage goes right to the basket and draws a foul. We see two more juniors in for the Tigers lineup. And number 23, Matthew Tierney. Number 34, Cameron Klinsky. Klinsky, one of the main scorers for this interior of the Tigers offense as I wonder if this is who they're going to be looking for, laying more off the three again as they've been two for nine from three or I wonder if they'll just keep trying to spread out and try keep trying to get these guards more shots.

021Yeah, the Patriots with no huge notable big men. They do have size especially on the perimeter, but no big post presence. Jackson Kerr goes one for two from the line for the Patriots. They had the offensive rebound. Matthews here able to strip it away. Gives the Tigers the possession up four. Ball going all over the place here for the Tigers. able to corral it, bring it back to the top of the key to set up an offense. >> They find an open Chase Kler for three. Won't go. Tigers with another offensive rebound, but they throw it away. Possession will go to the Patriots. That's really been a strong suit so far here in this second quarter. Multiple offensive rebounds for the Tigers giving them second chance shots. >> Looks like Matthew Tierney will pick up

022the foul guarding the ball. have to number 23 Matthew. His first personal number two. >> Has another press look here for the Tigers. Patriots again with this cutting offense looking to drive the ball into the basket or feed the short corner here. So take the shot, won't go. Chase Kler now bringing up the ball for the Tigers. That's the Tigers 10th rebound already in this game. That is something they have been excelling at so far. Looks >> like Chase Kisser will pick up the foul in the paint here. >> Brady Bole with the foul on Kler. Tigers with a good inbounds play draw up with the post shot for Cameron Klinsky. Won't fall and he commits the foul trying to get the offensive rebound. >> It's already Cameron's second foul. You wonder how much longer

023he'll be in here in the second half. Another noted about this press is the Tigers depth on this JV squad. I mean, they pretty much have a full bench. Uh, so I think that helps them being able to push the ball up the court hard and also run a press defense that helps with the turnovers. Tigers forced yet another turnover as like you mentioned, a lot of that bench depth coming from the C team who just had a dominant win earlier. You wonder how many quarters they would have left to be able to play in this game. Looks like Tigers will draw a foul again. Top of the key in the paint. >> Foul going Jackson Kerr. >> Congress will switch out just about everybody here. >> as we see them going back to the

024guard look here except they leave some hide in here with Chase Kler. Probably a more physical presence too, especially if you want to look to drive the ball or for him to be more of a post presence. He tries to drive the ball gets stripped. Possession will stay with >> Bluton. Jackson Kerr back in for Heritage here >> as Reed Abby gets the open three on the wing. Can't connect. Ball goes out of bounds. So, Heritage will get the possession. >> Tigers remain in a press. look as yet another turnover for the Patriots. >> Tigers defense has really improved here this second quarter, forcing so many turnovers here by the Patriots. >> Yeah, it seems like both pirate both sides of the ball for the Tigers have definitely settled into this game. >> Tigers lose

025the ball. Possession will stay on this end. Tigers again primarily on the perimeter here with their ball movement. Just under three minutes left here in this second quarter. >> Shot no good for the Tigers. Patriots will look to push the ball here. Brady Bole able to save the ball from going out of bounds there in the deep corner. So the Patriots will draw yet another foul driving to the basket. Bennett Stler with the foul and drive. >> No shots. They say the foul was on the ground, so Patriots will get the ball just to the left of the basket. Heritage gets an open three from the top of the key. Bank shot is no good. Gibson Grezer with the ball for the Tigers. Not much scoring as of late. Both teams either turning the ball

026over or not able to connect on their open looks that they're getting. Rafe Gerber takes the short jump shot. Cannot connect. Andy Bumgardner tries to get the come from behind steel but ball goes out of bounds. Possession will go to Heritage. >> Andy Bungardner almost able to force another turnover. Gets the kicked ball call. Heritage still on the wrong side of half court here. They were able to get it across quickly, but throw the ball away shortly after crossing the half court line. Yet another turnover for the Patriots as it'll be their seventh turnover. >> That's one of the keys to this game. only a four-point deficit, but they're going to have to limit the turnovers if they want to stay in this. >> Turnovers could prove to be a key stat here in this

027game as both teams haven't scored in the last probably few minutes. Turnover for the Tigers this time, but they get the ball right back. Tigers again moving the ball quickly around the perimeter. >> Now under a minute left until halftime. Bennett Stler will take the corner three. Cannot connect. Patriots look on the fast break. Find Jackson Kerr cutting to the basket. He gets the layup. Tigers lead only two here. 40 seconds remaining in the second quarter. >> Tigers likely to hold for the last shot here of the half. [applause] >> We'll get a kick ball call here. Possession will stay on this end. Looks >> like coach Royce will call a timeout to talk over the final play here the second half or first half. We'll take a quick break and be right back here

028on BHMS TV. Starting during the 202526 school year, the Bluffton High School Student Broadcasting Club is excited to bring you coverage of the Bluffton Tigers on BHMSD TV. The Bluffton High School Student Broadcasting Club would like to thank the Wells County Foundation for the generous grant to make these broadcasts possible. Starting during the 2025 26 school year, the Bluffton High School Student Broadcasting Club is excited to bring you coverage of the Back here in the Tiger Den after that quick timeout from coach Roy. 20 seconds left here in the second quarter as the Tigers will look for the last shot here to expand their lead going into halftime. >> As we're not seeing any bit of defensive pressure from the Patriots. Under 10 seconds now as the Tigers set up their look. Looking for Andy

029in the middle of the paint. turn it over, but Reed Abbott gets the open three off the turnover that won't fall. Tigers have the two-point lead going into halftime. We'll take a quick break and come back to break down the first half and explain what the Tigers and Patriots need to do to come out with wins here in this game on BHMD TV. We're back as we have halftime here in the Tiger Den. Tigers enjoy just a two-point lead, 10 to8 heading into the half. Not a lot of offensive keys to hit on here as we go over the first half stats, but Tigers with a strong defensive second quarter, forcing lots of turnovers and both teams with lots of turnovers, but Tigers able to force turnovers on the Patriots and able to convert on

030some of those, which gives them the narrow two-point lead. As we look at the stats for the first half, Zayn, who were the leading scorers for each team? Uh, Heritage actually only has one score in uh, Jackson Cerr as he leads the way with eight points. And uh, for the Tigers, they're a little bit more spread out as Abbott and Stler both lead the way with three points as Stler uh, has two makes, I believe. Uh, Rafe Gerber also has two points and then Alex Maghard comes off the bench providing two points as well. Yeah, not a lot of offensive play early in that first half as the Patriots overall field goal percentage is at 22% just two for nine from the field. Tigers with a bigger quantity of shots but a lower percentage at

03119% of just three for 16 from the field. Tigers looking to take a lot more shots from three-point land as they went two for 12 from the three-point line, just 17%. But as we hit on in the pregame show, that's more what the Tigers are looking for. With a lot of guards in the lineup and not a lot of bigs that play as much, you look more to shoot the three ball for the Patriots. Also trying to look for the three-point shot later in the first half, but a lot of driving to the basket, driving dribble handoffs and kick outs and just not able to convert. But you would think both teams would be able to heat up here in the second half. Yeah, and I don't think we've seen uh very many bad shots

032from the Tigers. They've just struggled to have shots fall really. I mean, a lot of open looks, a lot of uh good shots that have been taken. They just kind of been struggling to fall here in the first quarter and uh or first half. We'll see if uh the tides will turn for the Tigers as to see if they can hold on here in the third quarter. >> Yeah, lots of offensive, like you said, good. Not that they're bad shots, just not a lot of shots falling for either team as you kind of get that feeling. It is a Saturday game, an afternoon game at that tip off was at 1:00. So maybe just feeling a little more sluggish, not having the typical 6:00 game here tonight in the Tiger Den. As we look ahead

033here to the varsity matchup coming up right after the conclusion of the JV game, both teams one game separating them in the record column as Heritage comes in with a 14-3 record. Bluffston 13-4 record, improving that after losing here in the Tiger Den to Jay County just over a week ago. Back-to-back wins here coming into tonight. last season. Also an afternoon game on a Saturday at Heritage. However, Bluffton was able to pull out the narrow win in actually in the JV contest. Bluffton was able to pull out the narrow win in varsity contest. Heritage won by 1363 to 50 in an early conference game in January. How do you think Bluton looks to turn that around and get their get back game here against the Patriots? >> Uh they definitely have to limit the three-point

034shooting. I mean whether that's from Castle or Gallentine. And Gallentine had 31 in the last meeting and I think he made close to seven threes was the stat that I saw. And they're definitely going to have to limit their emotions. I mean, we know that there's a lot of hot water coming into this one. A lot of emotions have been building. This a game both of these teams have been waiting for. They're just not going to they're just going to have to not let their emotions get ahead of them and just be able to control the game and let uh the Patriots or if it's for the Patriots, let the Tigers do the talking or chirping. Yeah, these two teams actually met a little bit earlier this year in the ACAC tournament at Heritage. It

035was a close game. Bluton was able to keep the scoring tight through the first half. In the third quarter was when things started to get a little bit out of hand. And then Heritage is mainly their guard play was too much for the Tigers as the Tigers only run mainly a sevenman lineup on the varsity team. And Heritage obviously with the two key guards, number two Lante Castle, number three Tory Brown. Tigers with one main guard and Marshall Gerber who had to do most of the heavy lifting for the Tigers which wore him out. So you would look to see if the Tigers rotated maybe a Gibson Greaser, some more guards into the lineup tonight. >> Yeah. >> As we get underway, third quarter just about to start here in the Tiger Den. >> Blson

036will open with possession as Gibson Greaser takes the ball across the 10-second line. Tigers looking in the post early, get the quick kick out as they set up a zone set. Great passing on that possession for the Tigers. Just not able to convert on the block shot. Just a really good extra pass there from Rafe knowing that Andy had a higher percentage look there. Just unable to fall. Surprising to see the Tigers look in the post so early, especially with none of the notable bigs we listed on the court as the Patriots just throw it away straight to head coach Peter Becker on the sideline. Tigers again looking to drive to the basket. >> They'll kick it out to Bennett Stler in the corner with an open three. Can't connect. >> Tigers trying to save

037that rebound, but roll it out of bounds. Possession will go to the Patriots. Patriots very quick moving the ball here on offense and they'll get the open three from the left wing number four Brady Bole gives the Patriots the lead back here early in the third quarter. gives the Patriots some much needed momentum. Uh again, as that has been one of their uh first makes in a while for the Patriots, I'd say. Patriots building on that momentum. Force a Tiger turnover looking to build on their one-point lead on this end of the court. Three misses everything, but goes straight into the hands of the Patriots. Tigers find the ball somehow. Give it to Andy on the fast break who will convert on the layup. Giving the Tigers the lead back. Tigers first points of the

038second half. Just over two minutes into the second half. Another turnover. Tigers cannot convert on the fast break. Bennis Sur able to corral the rebound, go up on his own. >> Heritage will take a timeout after back-to-back turnovers. We'll be right back here on BHMSD TV. >> You're watching Bluton Tigers athletics on BHMSDTV, brought to you by the Bluffton High School Student Broadcasting Club. We'll be right back after this break. Coverage by the Bluffton High School Student Broadcasting Club is made possible thanks to the Wells County Foundation. Thank you for supporting the BHS student body. You are watching Bluffton Tigers athletics on BHMSD TV brought to you by the Bluffton High School Student Broadcasting Club. We'll be right back after this break. Back here at the Tiger Den after that 30 second timeout from the

039Patriots. Turnovers for both teams here early in the second half. Tigers with backto-back makes gives them only a three-point lead. However, looks like they'll come out in a little bit of on ball pressure from Chase Kler. Pressure working early here for the Tigers as the Patriots almost throw the ball away. >> Patriots almost throw the ball away yet again, but Bennett Ser will get called for the foul looking for the ball >> as he'll come out of the game as that's his third foul. Andy Bumgardner will replace him. Uh while we're on the break, uh in again are two of the freshman in Vince Lambert and Chase Kistler. Uh Vince Lambert again, another lethal three-point shooter added to this Tigers already very strong guard squad as you mentioned him. He gets the steal and draws

040the foul in the low corner >> near the basket. Tigers will get the possession back. Tigers looking to be a little more efficient on offense. Done so far so far here in this third quarter as they look in the post. Chase Kissle will travel with the ball on the ground looking for an open player around the perimeter as the Patriots will get the ball back. Tigers coming out in more pressure. Really getting those traps near half court. >> Looks like Andy Bungard will pick up the foul >> on the reach in. referee stopped the play for a second. Looks like we'll resume action. Brady Bole with the three. Won't fall. Jackson Kerr able to crowd the offensive rebound. Gets the right hand layup. puts the Patriots within one here >> as that is his 10th

041of the game being one of only two scorers here for the Patriots. >> Only other scorer was Brady Bole with a lone three-pointer. >> Reed Abble will take one of his own. Won't connect. Andy Bungardner almost able to force the ball off of the Patriots. Officials will say possession to Heritage. Three minutes left to go here in this third quarter as the Tigers lead by only one 14-13 over the Patriots. Very lowscoring game here, opposite of what we saw in the C team contest prior to this. >> Patriots pass deflected by multiple Tigers as the possession will stay on this end. >> Substitution for the Patriots number 14 Dalon Calhoun. We'll give Een Meyer a break. One of those primary ball handlers you've seen carrying the ball the top of the key for the Patriots.

042Brady Bole with another three gives the Patriots the lead. >> Puts him up to six. >> Some much needed Patriot momentum here as they just been struggling to find the bottom of the basket. Tigers now with their own turnover. Chase Kler draws the foul on the fast break before the shot. Number 15. >> Another substitution for Heritage. Number 15, Jordan Rooks. >> Looks like Cameron Kolinsky also in for the Tigers. Patriots not looking as aggressive so far with four players out on the perimeter. >> Gibson Grezer almost able to come away with the ball. Three-point shot for the Patriots in the corner. No good. able to corral the rebound out on the right wing. >> Looks like Gibson Grezer will draw the foul on the drive from number three Sawyer Teley. >> Went up for

043the layup. Got hit on the arm. Looks like he'll get two shots at the line here. three. >> As we saw early in the first quarter, Grezer picking up that first foul with uh legit only 10 minutes having been played up to that point, which is not something you wanted to see for your primarily ball handler, primary point guard, but he has remained clean throughout the rest of the game as that is only a second foul. >> Officials call a lane violation. shot will not count and Bluffton will get the possession. >> Gibson Grezer crosses the 10-second line. Just over a minute here left in the third quarter. Tigers down two, 14 to 16. Patriots very aggressive on ball defense. leave Reed Abbott open on the wing, however, able to knock down three and give

044the Tigers the lead back. >> Tigers with some ball pressure of their own here. It's the Patriots yet again with four players on the perimeter before the basket cut. Gibson Griezer able to knock the ball away on the dribble drive. gets fouled on a drive to the zone. >> Number two, >> looks like number 12, Harold Lawrence will check back in for the Patriots. Under a minute left now here in this third quarter. Bluffton still with a one-point lead, looking to expand before the fourth quarter. There's >> a lot of on ball pressure here for the Patriots. 056postgame show right after this. back in the Tiger Den where the JB contest just wrapped up. Tigers able to come out with the win 26 [music] to 20 over the Heritage Patriots. As Zayn, what were the stats looking like for the final this game? Uh, Heritage uh, having only two scores in this game in Kerr and Bole. Boille ended up with nine after he shot a good percentage from three and then Kerr finishing the game with 11. Uh, rounding off for the Tigers. Abbott led the way with six and Stler had five as Bumgardner and Gerber both had four. Griezer had three and then Vince Lambert and Alex Maghard rounded the scoring out with two. Yeah, a very not a very high offensive efficiency for either team this game. Very defensive. Lots of turnovers for

057both teams as the first half was very low scoring. I think in the third quarter the Tigers were able to almost put together a little bit of a run, forcing a lot of turnovers on the Patriots. [music] Both teams kind of going cold, so the game was close the whole time and then the Tigers was able to find that way to pull out the win. Any key thoughts for this upcoming varsity game? Uh yeah, like I said earlier during our halftime break, uh the Tigers are are really just going to have to do a good job of controlling their emotions. Uh the Patriots as well, uh they're not going to want to get that anger that I know they have built up inside of them from the revenge that they're wanting for what happened to

058one of their star players on the court. And I know that they'll just have to keep those under control in order to uh keep this game. Yeah, expecting a very physical game. Lots of, as I noted, two key senior guards for the Patriots as we'll see if Marshall Gerber will be able to lock both of them down. Maybe looking for some other key perimeter play specifically from Maddox White, seeing if Gibson Grezer gets any minutes as Chase Kisser also looks like he's suited up for varsity to see if he gets any time on the court. We will not have the live coverage of this game, however, but you can go over to Burn Witness Witness Media on YouTube to catch coverage from the Tiger Den of the Patriots versus the Tigers varsity contest.
