this week starting >> I asked already >> I I already asked and they said no. >> Oh, okay. All right. Phil already took care of that. >> Okay. >> Great. We just want to make sure >> as of right now. >> No, you're gone. >> Just using a minute. >> I've lost eight pounds. I can squeeze right by that. >> Whoa. >> I wanted you guys to go. Gosh, you look great if you lost some weight. But it doesn't matter. >> If you took your jacket off, we would have noticed. >> You have a child's chair. >> Oh, yeah. You do. You might want to switch that kindergarten chair. You take those smaller waistline >> just here all night. [Laughter] >> Okay. We will call the meeting to order at 602. Uh Mr. Robson's not

here tonight, so Mrs. Walker, if you could please call the role. Mr. Funk >> here. >> Mrs. Newman >> here. >> Mr. Perez, >> Mrs. Walker, Mr. >> Here. Please stand for the pledge. >> I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> That was all right. Thank you all. Welcome. Uh let's move right into our administrative reports. Uh Mrs. Hyanica. >> Hi everyone. >> All right. Um I thought for this month being I would focus on the fundraisers that uh our competitors are doing. Um right now with um OECPTA they are having a winding wing ding fundraiser at Razzles on November 15th um with incredible baskets. Um that is the tickets

are $25 a person um and it's open to the community. So that's fun with them. Right now, uh, Fanox is participating in their raise praise fundraiser, which is quite a successful fundraiser for them. Um, they are about a week ago, they had raised $13,416 and completed over 605 acts of kindness. So it's all about um participating in um good deeds and um good thoughts and people supporting the students. Um so paying it forward by completing attendance. Um PCA will be um in the later fall be working on maybe a um slides and sock fundraiser. Middle School PTA uh just completed a natural dog treat fundraiser. And then their next event is u a night out at the monsters hockey game in the uh early um those ticket $25 each and all that is on their

web pages. uh high school just completed um a fatthead and light up lanyard fundraiser through Kavanagh Photography. Uh and they raised $232 off of that. So it's really cool. A lot of senior uh next week is senior night for football and cheer. So uh really nice. We made sure to get those passed out. And right now they're currently participating in a fundraiser at the Mstead laser wash across from the Mstead Township Fire Department. So they have been all busy working. We do have dodgeball for the high school coming up January 15th the Thursday. The middle school dodgeball tournament is in March. Both of those raise money for uh scholarships as well as the other fundraisers throughout um membership numbers that we have there. I wasn't able to get the most updated but I will soon.

So the next report you'll have a really good number but um OEC is around is around 480 office 271 middle school 231 and high school 248 and the big push through the end of the month have 100% staff membership or as close to 100% staff membership in all of our schools and I can say that every unit is working very hard to do that. We have several that are in the 80s and 90s and high school uh achieved 100% uh at the end of September. So that's it's really exciting that they are really working together to do the best that they can for our kids. So anybody have any questions? >> Your baskets are they do you have to go to the uh >> I think you have to buy only at the event. Yeah,

sure. add >> should be a fun event. So, all right. >> Awesome. Thank you very much. >> Keep me and let me know kind of like is where what I can do in order to support everybody's efforts. >> Absolutely. I'd be appreciated. Thank you. >> Thank you, Joy. >> Thankful for our PTA. >> Uh players update. >> Uh we met this week. Uh they've had their Hall of Fame induction which they haven't done for several years. So, there were four individuals that were inducted and that was kind of nice. And they had dinner and then we had our meeting. Um, I have the five-year forecast here. Should anybody be interested? I'm guessing not, but I have it. Should you want it? Um, interesting thing is that treasurer also did he did a draft five-year forecast

if certain things in Columbus end up passing and it was unbelievable. And for a school that has only ever had to be on the ballot twice in its 50y year history, they would have to go on the ballot. So, and we even talked about how if it's this bad for them, I mean, they don't have things like inside millage, they don't have >> um it would be we're looking at devastating things obviously. >> So, um >> great. >> But we did also have uh their era program which is their big new construction project. It's the engineering techn technology robotic and automation program. They will be accepting students in the fall. They're 12week program. So each student will be they'll spend 12 weeks in each engineering to robotics to automation. They do the whole thing. Um

they will so a somebody does two years junior senior will be eligible for certification points they call them up to 36. So they could be certified to work in on the floor in these manufacturing fields types of manufacturing. Um they will be offering one time only next year for the fall for non-polaris students that are seniors. So seniors that aren't currently at Polaris can do a one-year program. They don't normally do that. That's just to keep the program full next year. Um and they'll be eligible for if they complete it 12 certification points. So that's an interesting cuz that's that's unusual for players. And they did a nice little demonstration. I think I sent in the picture. >> It was very cool. >> That one of the robots >> Where's the candy that I asked

for? >> Oh, I'm sorry. >> Okay. >> No, we we didn't get to actually trick or treat. They just uh they demonstrated in force. >> That was very cool. >> Questions, comments about Polaris? I would add that um we had our first Polaris superintendent meeting that was scheduled by the Polaris superintendent. First one is a group in probably about four years. Um which was really nice to be able to gather with that group of folks. Um Diane was uh very I think attentive to kind of some of the things that we have going on in our school districts. One of them was really one of the things that they suggested last year was um kind of consolidating or phasing out some of the special programs to support our special needs students. >> Um and they

had three different programs and I'm going to try to go down to one or two and one of them was because the attendance of the program is pretty low. And one of the reasons why is because there lots of students that we have in our school district. some students with special needs and some students with some really really significant special needs and you're not going to fill a program generally speaking, you know, to the hilt um with students. And so thought was they were just going to phase that out because they don't have enough kids. And we know at the local school district we don't have that. We can't do that. I mean we serve all students and we serve students, you know, of the lowest have the most significant disabilities. Um so uh they

were going to meet as a group of directors of student services um transition coordinators and others to look to try to build kind of a special program for those students. They talked about a particular person who was I guess retiring and my question was were you given directives by your board to not fill the position or to look to save costs or shrink it? um she has said no to that and so um that's one thing that we're going to continue to try to advocate for on behalf of five consortion of districts is that they build something extended resources in order to support the kids who need support and employment um with special needs. So >> so she mentioned that there'll be some brainstorming around that >> there will yeah they're pro um that would

not have happened before and uh we're very grateful that um that it has. So, just wanted to share that >> just to remind everybody they would like the names of >> they mentioned that too. Diane mentioned that too >> board members by December. >> Um I did explain like some of the situation that's going on here that we'll have two new board members for sure and that should Bob win township trustee. There could be three. Um but we got two for our next two. So, um I will say they're they they would be perfectly fine having me stay on for I know that there was some but that's still a possibility should we have some issues. So, um although I'm also happy not to. So, >> we'll continue to keep that in mind. Thank you.

Thank you for that. Any further questions, comments? Cool. Uh no, Brian. >> Good evening. So, I have two updates for you. Um, one you have heard me talk about, um, really starting last school year, our math curriculum or the resources that we use, um, as it relates to math instruction. Um, it is time to start looking at those resources and if they align with the teaching and learning that we believe should happen with math. So last year we spent time um meeting with the 6 to 12 math teachers and building administrators and and reacquainting them with what the research and best practice and what we believe um that should look like in Mstead Falls. Moving to this school year and last week from that group of teachers, we have a committee that is going to

help research different programs including the current program that we use to determine what seems to be the best fit for u math instruction. So what we're doing is looking at our philosophy, our lookors, um and also using a rubric to help with decision making. And um so we've identified six different programs that we're going to meet with. We're going to interview them. They're going to present their information. We're going to collaborate with other districts who are using the programs. And our goal is to do that first phase by January. Then we will determine what next steps are. And I update you because by the end of next school year, we'll want to make a recommendation to the board about um what our final decision is. And then that implementation will begin next year. It's possible.

One outcome is we maintain the current program but with the updated version which is CPM. Um, another possibility is middle school has their own math resources that they're using different than high school. Um, it could be that high school and middle school have the same program, but there's some differentiation once you get to APCCP. So, want to keep you updated. Our our math teachers are so committed um and they came on our PD day. our committee came together for about two hours and spent time talking and um they were ready to go and um they've been a part of this process really since last February. So I'll keep you updated on that. Um second um last Wednesday it's the second time we brought together all of our building based design teams into one room. Um

this gives us an opportunity to help provide a framework for ourselves and um each of the buildings as we as we go on a journey this year and continue to level up. Um we spent the morning with about 40 teachers and building administrators talking about how do you assess engagement. Um a student can be engaged but not learning or a student can be learning but not engaged. And the goal is to have both and this really comes from the partnership with Schlei. So, taking a deeper dive with that. Um, and then the afternoon they were able to plan for their professional development day this past Monday and I was able to get reports from them and um, how that worked out in each of the buildings. So, um, that's been a a more recent focus

out of my department. Any questions about either of those topics or anything else that you have questions about? >> Good. Thank you. >> Okay. >> Uh, Brett is not here. He's down in Columbus. uh trying to squeeze every last penny out of that we can. So, best of luck, Brett. Dr. Lloyd, >> um just a few things and I wrote to you and we can talk about some of these um if we need to get into real specifics on things uh with related to personnel contracts prior to putting them out for your approval, we need to go in executive session to do that. But um the Mach our financial story, the document that's going to be released out of Brett's office, he's not here to talk about or or here like to praise. I guess

I'm going to get he and Kim and Allerton Hill, but it is a really really good document that's going to come out with a lot of very useful and timely information related to state funding and also our own resources and how we go about um the business of um allocating those resources to do the things that we need to do to inspire and empower kids. we when you see it, it it will it will make you proud. It was a really really cool document. It's about seven or so pages um on that. So, I thought that that was uh was a pretty cool thing. Um you've seen the uh progress of the central administration building that's kind of moving along. So, we're hopeful um that that front oval parking lot um will uh be finished

by the end of October. It may be roped off. I don't know. when we're trying to get in the building for board meetings, but just kidding. Um, but there will be an additional like 38 spaces there or something like that. So, um, we're real close uh before, but there was a kind of a snag with um with some of the uh underground utility stuff going on there. >> Um, >> what's the updated completion date on that? A little bit behind schedule. >> Yeah, just a tad. I think it's probably the beginning of April. Um, we have a meeting next Wednesday, next Wednesday. Um, kind of like our bi-weekly or bimonthly. Um, >> do they have do they give you an update table? >> They do. Um, and he's the one that there's this application that

they use and everything is in there. If I were Heath, I could call it up because he's the one that goes in there every day and looks at things. But um I I mean I believe from the original projected date of March 27th they may be like a week off or so if it gets done before April 15th and we're moved in there before April 15th then I would be pleased with that. I think that's how it's um how it's going to be. So it seems to be kind of moving along pretty good. We had some pretty good weather over here for a while. So they were able to move pretty quickly um on stuff. So people are very excited about that. And I mean, it's going to be a great facility for the school

district to be able to host all of our professional learning there and have our PPA um meetings in there and then obviously also these meetings and other kinds of things too. Um we uh through our district leadership team have created five building based surveys that ask um few different questions of our families from those particular buildings. And it starts with first warrior hopes and dreams for your kids. Um, and secondly, it's uh, you know, what are two or three things that the building does well? What are two or three things that you think that um, the building could improve upon in order to help your child? Um, and then if you think of the the seven pillars of benefits based accountability, student learning, student readiness, well-being, engaged, well-rounded students, and effective systems, and so on

and so forth. It's a rate, the level of effectiveness with those two. Um, and then the last question was the the dreaded uh, is there anything that we didn't ask you that you would like to let us know? Um, question. And so those were pushed out by the building principles last week and we're collecting um, data uh, now and the principles will continue to sort of beat the bushes to get additional families to kind of um, respond to those. It's it's a pretty quick survey. I think it takes about six or so minutes to do. You could do it on your phone as well. the high school um wants to really get uh kind of push it out and and maybe be at the at the game on Friday and have like the QR code

available for families for the high school so they can kind of respond sort of on the spot. We also will have a district level one as well that will go out um through our school report and then also we'll look to put it on like a flyer and post it in different places that the community likes to hang out in like Roasted and Drug Mart and other places that um you know they could just simply do the same same kinds of questions. Um but it was really just a way in which to try to get feedback on um how we can continue to uh improve the things that um that we do. Um the build at the building level today would have been a full DT where we meet together but we did not convene

as a group. um three of the five buildings used that time in order to convene and talk about their benefits based accountability um work along with their design work and they were looking at that data as well to try to you know when you say what are your hopes and dreams that helps them shape um the benefits that they're going to kind of work on and the engines that they're going to turn on. So um it's uh it's pretty good um pretty good day. I was had the opportunity to uh sit down with the high school specifically in the room and then talk to two other um teams as well. So, I'm very proud of the work that they're that they're doing and if you were there, you would have been proud as well. Um

I gave you just in written form the idea of what we're going to do with uh the reorganization of the technology department. Um you know, there was a a question I know that Mr. Newman sent through that asked if we could talk about it and we certainly can. You know, I don't want to get too far out in front of because I haven't given you a recommendation on um specifically who is you, you know, I would recommend to you to run that department. But um the idea here is to make it more efficient to make it rather than being um technology centered to have it really be centered on students and staff. And I think having uh a certified educator at the helm um will help to do that and then also help to unify

that department uh as well. There's an internal person that I think would do a tremendous job um of that and has done a tremendous job from really more on the application and software side of things too. And I don't know if you know that Avette's also in a doctoral program too through Ashley University, the same one that I that I went through. So she's um she's doing that. Um, and then when Karen retires, we will post that position and we will look to hire um what I'm going to call a true network technician who will be a switches and wires kind of person to sit in that nerve center at the middle school um and manage really level one and level two kinds of problems, you know, that come up with ineffective cards or bad

connections or whatever it may happen to be. Um and then Casey and Ben who are right now categorized the job description as a network technician. They're not acting as kind of a what we would want as a network technician in the you know 2025. They have set of skills that that are good and they and we need them and they do a tremendous job and they're stationed here at the high school. It's just that that job description doesn't exactly fit what it is that they're doing and really what we need them um to do. And so uh we would hire that network technician to to be the the senior person that would help do that. A vet would oversee the entire department and provide leadership um as well. And then you got my my projections

into the future of what I hope to do. There's a part-time position. I think we really need to make that um full-time. that person can help do a couple different things, work on um you know the peripheral kind of side of things, but then also on the software application and integration side of things as well. Um and I think that we can do all of that initially with with this year anyway, this school year and save um some money too. That's not the it wasn't the goal in my eyes and you didn't give me that directive. Go and save money. I mean, anytime we can do that, obviously that's a good thing to do, particularly if we can continue to keep up with effectiveness or increase that effectiveness. So, I think that we'll uh we'll

be able to do that. So, I'm I'm pretty uh pretty excited about like that moving forward. Losing Joe is a huge thing. He's a he's a great worker, very dedicated to the school district and everything. Um but I think with that uh him, you know, retiring, we can use it as an opportunity to to improve and stuff, too. So, I don't know if you have any questions about that, but you can expect me to make that um recommendation for that leadership position uh before the end of uh the calendar year. I'll probably make that uh in December. We're going to post the network technician position of which um you would the board would approve uh would vote on the hiring of whoever that person is. The position already exists. You don't necessarily approve that. So

we would just look at that person for some advanced certifications that aren't necessarily um in that current job description right now. So that is that question. Okay, cool. A couple more. Um we're also looking to reorganize the central office as it relates to the kind of executive secretarial positions that are there. There are currently there have been three over the years. The time that I've been here in the 19 years and even my first tour didn't do three here. I think there may have been four. It's down to two now. Um they're not called that. Um but that's kind of how they function right now. We have a person that that helps to support uh Shannon and he um and then we also have Debbie Tracy who will be retiring at the end of December

who supports me and uh the treasurer's office sort of like on the books does, but really the evolution over the last four years is that she supports HR like 90% of what her job is is really doing that. I don't necessarily need nor does the treasur in my opinion need a um a full-time secretary, even a full-time secretary to split between both of us. We I think are pretty um you know functioning with the kinds of things that we need to do. So, um, we have an internal person that is supporting Shannon and Heath that, uh, has over the last four months, she's new, Kayla, and has done a tremendous job. I told you that she's going to, she's a person that we would look to turn to, um, to provide provide her with additional

responsibilities that really of the administrative support that Deb gave to Brett and I. And then we would um take the HR functions that Deb is providing and we would hire a person that would just do those HR functions. Um and you know we would call that person the um you know admin executive administration administrative assistant for central administration or something like that. I I had it written down somewhere. I can't remember it off the top of my head. Um, so you you know I'm sure if you have any questions uh we're not looking to do a a reduction of a of an FTE there. We talked about it as we do and we made that promise whenever we were in the financial difficulty we had many many you know four years ago then any position

that would come up we would look to try to uh to save if we could um and then if not then to justify why it is that we were doing that. So, we feel that we need to continue to have that level of support and continue with the FTE level that we have right now. Um, some of those things that I just talked to you about will lead to some administrative handbook revisions and you can expect that I'm going to give you those recommendations also in December. Um, the board that's been here has has the has a lot of experience and knows the evolution of that administrative handbook. Um, and so that's the reason why I'm going to present it to the board at that particular um, time. It's a public document. It's out in

the open and any new board member that would want to have any questions about that can certainly can certainly ask. Um, in there we have two different handbooks. One is for exempt staff, which is where Debbie Tracy's position would fall and we'll make some some changes there. the administrative handbook um will be the changes that we're going to make and create the director of instructional and information technology position and change that category. And then I'm also um going to recommend as I indicated to you too that uh that family and community engagement specialist position really I want to codify that in the um in the admin handbook and right now we uh we pay for that position as a purchase service through the educational service center. Um and I'm as I said to you I'll

give you the cost differential. um it's not crippling or anything like that, but it is an increase um in resources and it will show on the books when you report to the state as an additional administrator right now. And this is why it doesn't really matter too much what what those reports from the state say because that position is an administrative position in Homestead Falls, but it's not reported as an administrative position because it's paid through the ESC and school districts do all kinds of different things, but that's that's what it is. Um, so that's what I'm going to continue. Um, I want to do that because I know that she's done a tremendous job and she's continued to to level up and I think that will um put her in a position to be

even more effective once um it's sort of codified in that that handbook. I gave you uh my goals as well. So looking for feedback on that. I'm not sure where we are with super valid super powers to approve any of those things, but if you have any questions or any comments, let me know. And then uh once the new um board members come on, I want to look for a like a winter February spring retreat for for you guys and look to the selected group to maybe come in and help with some of that too. We can talk about is that like an after like an evening thing? I'm sorry, but is that a Saturday thing? >> Something in Vegas. >> No, Vegas. >> I'll be writing back. Um, >> but ideally if honestly it

would be a full day. >> We did a full day. >> We did a Saturday. We did like a Friday and then we did a Saturday. >> I'd like to do that again. >> We did Friday night and then came back and >> Saturday for like a >> I'm sure players would be more than happy to >> I I would like to do that. We also at that point could we could wait for you know if we have a building at that point but I we'll wait and talk with uh the newbies who are coming on too to find out what uh the availability >> I have no I have no idea but I'm just saying maybe I'll send a treat >> that'd be wonderful >> a little donation have fun >> or maybe like

the one night be at the open >> it may not even be ready so that's the whole thing so I I really don't want to have it in April and Okay. Like March. Um, and given the fact that there could potentially be a new majority coming on to the board, I think that we're going to have to talk about like what what is um how's that induction going to work and I'm here to support whatever that might look like. Um, and also to talk with them too. That I think is uh enough. So if you have any questions, I certainly um you saw that NIL might come to uh I have my own opinions on that. Obviously, >> I got home. I think it was the night of the players meeting. I don't know. I

came in and Chuck's on his phone. Maybe I guess it was last night. And he's looking all concerned and I'm like, "What's going on?" He's like, >> "I'm trying to respond to a tweet that Leo did." And I'm like, "Oh god, what?" And it was the whole And but he's like, "I can't get what I'm so angry. What do you want to say? I can't get it in enough characters." >> I mean, it can like bring that out. So that so for those that you know that don't know there's this name image and likeness thing that's you know come through college athletics uh now that it's in in high school and there's um Ohio is there's six states left that don't have NIL opportunities for um for high school students and so the way I

look at it look at it just from a you know and you guys know this because Brett talks to you about we're going to advance $50,000 or $500,000 the athletic fund and we're going to advance another $500,000 in the athletic fund. So the school district and the taxpayers pay a million dollars really for extracurriculars that happen. That's not a million for athletics. That's just everything overall. So when I see NIL kinds of things and players, high school players saying, "Well, I want to make money off my name and everything." It's, you know, it's not like it is in college when Ohio State's making billions off of kids and only giving them a scholarship. >> Yeah. I mean, nobody's making money off of high school. >> It's not. I mean, we don't make money off the

gate. We don't >> doesn't I mean, Ohio athletic I mean, I don't >> like the money that we might get from the football gate might pay for the refurbishing of the helmets, maybe, >> you know. So, >> um, and you guys are attorneys, you know. I mean, the way it's going to go is we're going to vote no and then there'll be a lawsuit and then we'll go and we'll lose the lawsuit and then NIL is going to be in high school. That's how it's probably going to go. But I don't think that it should shoot in for high school athletics, but that's just me. Maybe I felt would feel differently if I had a blue chip kid that was going to get something. I don't know, but I don't think I would. >> Doesn't

matter. >> The difference too is it's kids in high school where it's young adults. >> Yeah. So, it's the parents that are to really be able to deal with these contracts with people rather than than I worry about the pressure. There's already enough pressure on on kids to begin with. I worry about that, too. So, be careful. >> I mean, it's like the wild wild west in college athletics. >> Well, I mean, it means under control. >> Like, they made no rules to it. It just became >> Yeah. So, that's that. >> I just wanted to um publicly say I appreciate all the work that you guys have been doing to like reorganize like major departments. I mean, you know, we didn't have half the technology department that we have today 12 years ago. So,

we've really gone through an evolution and um I I appreciate all the heavy lift and the fact that um at the forefront of everyone's mind is will we save money by reorgan you know like we always need to be mindful of that and um I appreciate everything. >> Thank you. We've been very calculated and we've talked it through a number of times and sitting in my office on the white board with Shannon, Brian and Heath and Brett and everyone else. >> And it's going to be a lot to like it's just not the reorganization. It's now the implementation and working with new leadership and things like that. So it, you know, the heavy lift isn't over. It's probably just beginning. So >> yeah, the plan is at least there now. We're going to run it

and um it's a but we see it as an opportunity though too. So we're excited about course. No, no, I appreciate it's it's a lot. >> You mentioned the board office. I just want to make sure to give a shout out. Um >> because you said like, "Oh, the PTA is gonna meet there." And I I >> I recently was trying to schedule an event for youth football and as you know, like it's it's hard to get time anywhere. And like, "Oh, great. There's more space available." But I also want to give a shout out. Kayla's amazing. Like, she did a really good job. Like, yeah. I didn't respond. She's like, "All right, well, I went ahead and like I held these, you know, like you I gave you some offering options and I'm holding

them. Just let me know." And then eventually all well just the anticipation that she has to be able to put things in place is like that's something that we really really like. Yeah, we thanks for saying that. We'll pass that on >> to her. She's done well. We're really pleased. >> Thank you. Very robust. Appreciate it. Uh moving on to the hearing of the public. Do we have anybody who would like to address the board this evening? I messed this up a few weeks ago, so I'm not messing up. >> Are you sure no one wants to talk to the board tonight? >> Okay, good. I'm only going to get that wrong once. >> All right. Thank you all for coming, though. Um, moving on to the consent agenda. Uh, I will accept a motion

to approve the items in consent agendas four, five, and six. >> Some move. >> Seven. Oh, seven is sorry. >> Second. >> I think tried to say second and then you said >> I just want to say 67. >> Yeah, you did. I figured that was also >> any uh any discussion or questions about anything in items four through six. >> You saw that you probably received that. >> You want give us 30 seconds on that? So, I sent out this is related to um the board policy on personal communication devices. I sent to you what it is that I sent out to uh families. Uh did you get it, Matt? Just Okay. And it was you know what it is that we said. And so I think that um >> that's dictated by the

state law, right? It it is but there's what happened was that you know the state law is one thing and then the Ohio Department of Ed came in with a more restrictive interpretation which they >> they're they can try to do that but they can't tell us what to do. The law is the law right. So um our policy and how we administrate that policy is probably going to be a little bit different than what the message is coming out of the OJ. >> They want everything gone. We're not We're not going to do that. >> We had a teacher about it because you're >> a board member that thinks we should do a belly bell. >> That's That's silly >> because he thinks that's the intention. >> And I said, "Well, I'm going to

lean on the legal interpretation of the statute. >> I'm going to be a strict interpreter of what the law is rather than like a liberal interpretation of what it might be or what they meant." If they >> yeah, >> they certainly have gone back and changed things to what they actually meant to say. So when they do that, then we will react accordingly. >> I love that I'm at a school where kids can text me in an off time that they forgot their lunch and I can say don't have a place in the classroom, but it's convenient and they can >> Yeah. >> It's hard to put Pandora back in the box on that one, >> you know, because because it's the family members and people are too used to it. >> They're not contacting

the State Department on that. they're going to come and yell at all of us and it makes sense to not be yelled at for something that you don't we don't believe in that. So, let's do what we believe, right? So, it's worked and it's an effective form. So, yeah, that's that. That's all. Any other questions or comments on any of the consent agenda items from anybody? All right, I will Let's take a vote. Mrs. Walker, if you could please. >> Uh, Mr. Font. >> Yes. Mrs. Neman, >> yes. >> Mr. Perez, Walker, yes. Mr. >> Yes. Motion carries. Thank you. >> Um, moving on to Oh, this is our draft meeting dates. We looked at this last time. Just don't think we did anything with it. So, anybody send me I did not get any

opposition or objection to any of the dates. So, last call for between now and the next meeting. Let's take a hard look at the calendar and let me know if anything jumps out that's problematic and we can adjust. >> Yeah, I think you run the play, right? And then wait for the new folks to come on and then talk to them. >> Um, >> yeah. So, really Justin has a objection to these days. Uh we have four special meetings coming up. October 30th, November 6th, November 12th, and November 20th. Well, sorry, the first three are special meetings and then the 20th is the regular meeting. The first three will be to uh begin the treasurer uh interview process. So, just make sure everybody's got all those on your calendar. Those will be six o'clock here

for the public's benefit. Those will all be meetings that take place in executive session um to interview those candidates. Just so you know, there will be no other regular action taken by the board on those nights. >> No anticipation. >> It's open, right? We're we're we're accepting application. >> Yeah, that 28. >> Yep. The link is live and check. We should check on the town. >> Yeah. Do we know it? Do we have heard of >> Brett and I have had people reach out specifically to us and people who we've talked to from other places inquiring about >> things. So that didn't happen before. Good. So that's good. But we should check I can check with Todd and just ask what the candidate pool looks like for something like this. You're going you could potentially

get candidates who want to be in the pool and aren't necessarily in the pool. they want to talk. So >> that's one of the values of having those guys to start reading emails. >> Um and started to write uh the questions from the questions that they had and categorize those and I'll wait for a little bit longer to uh kind of let those crystallize and then send them out to you for feedback on these are first round questions. Yes, these are second round questions and there'll be rubrics attached to each one of those. It's the advantage of chat GPT these days. You can just have them generate you a rubric which is awesome. All right, cool. Uh, any general discussion? >> Given your update that you just provided, do we have anything that does need

to go into executive session now? Would you request anything? don't, >> you know, for for for something that I would want to talk to you about, you know, like Brian would need to be here because he's had to do >> unfortunate Brian things, you know, as the HR director. Um, and I would want him to tell that story rather than do the telephone game of >> my interpretation, but I don't think there's anything >> pressing right now. >> I don't. >> Okay. Anything else? Anybody else? Well, with that, I will accept the motion to adjourn at 6:43. >> Second Walker game tonight. >> Mr. Funkles fan, >> Mr. Funk. >> Yes, Mr. Funk. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Newman. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Walker. Yes. Road. >> Yes. Thanks everybody. Steelers have >> Steelers. Yeah. >>

So, it's it's the battle of the 40-year-old quarterbacks. >> It's a battle. >> I get the camera Sunday. That's >> freezing cold cuz it's going to be 50 to 60 mph gust. >> Oh, is that going to be on Sunday? All >> she trying to talk my daughter into my She's not like
