014So again, thank you very much for that. Mrs. Turner, turn it over to you. >> Thank you very much. >> Hey, Mr. Turner. >> Hello. Good evening everyone. So, um, it is my pleasure to recognize our Will Cox Rock students for this month. Um, so, boys and girls, you saw some grown-ups up here a few minutes ago and they had their certificates right in front of their tummy. So, that's what we're going to do. No reason to be nervous. 017we value at Willox. He's hardworking, patient, and kind. He approaches each day with a and each lesson with enthusiasm and a genuine love for learning. Although there are so many wonderful stories about Jay, one story in particular is when Jay was helping deliver a note to the office and he came back and sat with a class and quickly got back to work. A few moments later, one of the custodians came in to say hello and shared that as Jay was walking back, he stopped and picked up a couple of pieces of trash. Mr. Eric was so moved and appreciative because Jay Jay did not see him and cared even when no one was looking. Every day, Jay embodies what we strive for at Willox by being responsible, respectful, caring, and safe. And Willox truly rocks

When Jackson sees a friend in need, he is the first to provide a hug and words of encouragement. He always makes sure that his peers have what they need by either sharing his own supplies or problem-solving ways to help them out. Oh, I have to do I have to switch. Yeah. >> Thank you so much for coming tonight. Um Willox families, we have um students from Dodge and the high school that are going to be recognized. You are certainly welcome to stay. Um but if you would like to leave

022and get home, now is a good time for the transition. And um then if the Dodge families are out in the in the um waiting area, they can also join. So it is up to you, but we appreciate you coming tonight. >> Thank you. I mean, sorry, miss. >> Sure, >> no problem. I think I saw Miss Deville and Richie. How you doing sir? >> Good. I do have a chain here. So, good evening everyone. As we kind of get ready to start our students of the month for Dodge, it's almost like our special women's history month edition, so we're excited about it. I just want to take one quick second to give a shout out to our Dodge PTA. They are a wonderful partner for Dodge. And as you know, we just had our

023mother son event last Friday again having record numbers of mothers and sons participate. We're just so proud of our PTA. I also want to recognize um our PTA president, Jessica Lamb, who won the helping hands award for PTA council, as well as Mr. six who was the T in PTA which is the teacher part of it. Before I pass the mic over to my lovely sixth grade presenters, I just want to take a moment to highlight uh the staff

024member to the left of me, Miss Julia Brusseller. It is National Social Worker Week. Um so I just wanted to celebrate her out loud. She is always a light every single day from the moment she walks into the building until the moment she leaves. Um, while she still supports over 50 students on her case load, she is also always present for our staff in our building and our teachers. And she has been a pleasure to work with. She also has uh helped me run the girls group for the last four school years. So, can we please just give her a round of applause? Thank you. What is amazing is that he just started the sport four years ago and he has consistently stood out. As a freshman, he was named rookie of the year. As a sophomore, he earned most improved wrestler honors. Last season, he was recogn recognized as our team's most valuable wrestler. And this season, he has

A lot of job related expenses when and how tax exempt forms are used and by whom and when they can be reimbursed or not. Um a lot of re well not a lot a couple revisions to the grading and waiting of of grades within the uh high school. Uh we had one policy where we addressed the issue. We

043have no one at this point in time, but we we we will have the policy in place should we have any athletes that um are asked to use their name and their image and everything if they're um moving on in into the sports world. Um, and then the final one that I know some people might be waiting for, the age requirement to start school, mostly dealing with our kindergarten students. And we adjusted our policy uh within the uh OC code to say that the entrance day to kindergarten for the age of five is the first day when all students will be in attendance and it will be a learning session day for all students. That's the highlights. It was a again pretty vanilla compared to some of the um lengthy and uh rigorous um policies

044we've gone through in the past. >> Um just to give you update, our Twinsburg equity educational equity um committee met um I think that was last week and um that was a really good meeting. And I thought um for the first time we um did an application process kind of like what we did with our finance and building and grounds committee. We opened it up to all of community um to be able to join that and we took everyone who applied. Um and so um it was really great to have people join who really wanted to do the work in our district. Um thank you Miss Brand for attending that meeting with us. um Miss um Nyrie uh Wilkerson and Naomi Sigs, they are taking over leadership for that committee. And um basically um what

And so we're um excited to do the work with our students that were there, with our staff members that were there, and um parents and community members. So um I don't know, Maria, do you have anything else to add? Okay. And then um just an update with CBCC. Um there is a job fair tomorrow at um 3:00 to 5:00. 046offering interviews for full-time, part-time, and seasonal positions. Um so spread the word about that. Um also, uh CBC team earned third at the Skill USA regional um teamworks competition that was held on January 30th. So congratulations on that. And um for this month we had featured um our student Jaden Washington. Um he is one of our students um who is currently enrolled in the electrical systems program at CBCC. Um and he um is under the instruction of of MC um Joe McNammy and he um runs in the um he has been um doing different things within this program and he feels like it was the perfect chance for him to try something new. It allows him to get out of the house and have hands-on experiences and he's really enjoying what this program has to

047offer. So you can um we'll have it posted um if you want to see that um his spotlight. And then our alumni Mercedes um White, she was actually the class of 2016 um for Twinsburg.
