And if you're able and willing, can you please stand for the pledge of allegiance? >> I pledge algiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> All right. Good evening and thanks um everyone and all families um and community for joining us in person or online tonight. Um our Twinsburg community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of London Brown, a bright, kind, and deeply loved ninth grade student at Twinsburg High School. London's pass and has left a profound sadness across our district. My deepest condolences and prayers are with her family, her friends, her classmates, her teachers, and all who knew and loved her. Yesterday evening, many in our community gathered at Liberty Park for a

vigil, seeking our um seeing our students, families, staff, and neighbors stand together in love and remembrance speaks to strength and compassion for Twinsburg. Um losing a child is unimaginable. Um, no words can fully express that pain, but I really do hope that London's family feels the love, support, and unity surrounding them. As we all process this loss, I want to gently remind our students, our parents, our staff that it is okay. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, sad, confused, or unsure of what to do next. Um, grief looks different for everyone, and no one has to walk through this alone. Um, our district does have counseling support available for our families um, who also need additional resources outside of our school counselor or beachbrook. Um, we can help you connect with community mental health support as well.

Um, for anyone who wishes to support the family, there is a GoFundMe um that the family does have. Um, uh, it is posted on various pages, but you can also reach out and I will be happy to share it. Um, at this time I would like to ask everyone to join me in a moment of silence for London. Thank you. Um, even in a difficult time, our students continue to support students and provide meaningful opportunities for growth, learning, and connection. I do want to highlight a few updates across our district. um our National Honor Society. Last night we proudly inducted a new class of NHS students. So congratulations to all of our inductees on this incredible honor. Your leadership, service, scholarship, and character make our community stronger. Um there was an instant decision day. Um

and that was a huge success. We had multiple colleges visiting and offering on the spot um acceptances as well as scholarship awards. I believe there was two singers who received $5,000 on the spot um from East Mr. K, I believe. So, um that was awesome. The ths drama club delivered wonderful performances of the girl of the garden club showcasing tremendous student talent. And then we had students participate in the model UN conference at Case Western Reserve, earning praise for their preparation. And then the girls basketball team will play at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse on November 30th, followed by the Cavs game. Um, I do want to congratulate all our fall athletes who were recognized at signing day. We had Ryan Humperson who is um going to Tiffen University for men's soccer. Um, Da Sabat for Purdue

And then um just a reminder for um the board just did pass a policy for cell phones

and that will take effect on January 1st with House Bill 96. Um tonight, even as our hearts are heavy, we are reminded the importance of celebrating our students and their accomplishments. So, it's my honor. Um, we'll be honoring our students of the month from Willox tonight, George Adach and Twinsburg High School. So, your hard work, leadership, and tiger spirit truly make our district proud. And so, thank you for being here. And I'll turn it over to Superintendent Mar. >> Thank you, President. Let's begin with students of the month. >> Let's begin with students of the month. And for those of you who don't know me, I don't really like having a mic in front of me, but I'm here and we want to celebrate our our children. >> So, let's begin with Will Cox. She's

still laughing at me, but let's begin with the camera. And before we begin, I would really like to thank and appreciate all of our family, friends, staff members for your support of our children. Without all of you together, because it is a team, these children would have success, but you make that success happen. So, I greatly appreciate it. I don't think we really know the impact of all of you in this room in the lives of these children. So, I appreciate all that you've done and all that you will do in the future because it's so often we see these children over and over again, whether it be in the orchestra or on a field, but they continue to excel and they wouldn't do that without all of us working together. So, thank you very

much for that. >> Okay, Mr. Turner, sorry. Thank you everyone for being here tonight. Every month we have the opportunity to honor our Willox students and um if you haven't been at Willox, I'll tell you a little bit what that means. Every morning we start our day with the Willox pledge. So our students learn from the beginning of the year what it means to be responsible, respectful, caring, and safe. and our staff members and especially our teachers are helping the children learn what those big words mean when you're on the bus or when you're in the hallway or the cafeteria um so that they can demonstrate those um characteristics for us. So tonight we are going to recognize five students. Um we'll start with our first graders. So, um, Will Cox friends, when I call

your name, I love you to come on up here, um, and we'll give you your certificate and you'll get a pin from Mrs. Davis. And then your teacher, if your teacher is here, will be able to join you so you won't be alone. And we're going to smile really big and show our certificates. Okay? And take some pictures. Sound good? All right. So, we're going to start with our first first grader, Samantha Feny. And Samantha was nominated by Mrs. Scaler. So this is Mrs. Scaler here. And Brinkley is in Mr. Scolero's class. >> Okay, Frankly, you can get your pen. >> There are many reasons why Mr. Scolero nominated Brinkley for this award. She is a good friend who is always ready to help a classmate or her teacher. She participates in class, loves to share stories, and is a very hard worker. She keeps her desk and work neat and organized. She follows all of the Willox rules and is responsible, respectful, caring, and safe. 012might not be out there. Oh, that's fantastic. That makes me so happy. Come on up, GENESIS. OKAY, there's your certificate. I'm gonna have you go right over there. >> Okay, so Genesis is in Miss Miller's class. And Miss Miller wasn't able to make it tonight, but we're here to honor Genesis. So, Genesis, Miss Miller says that you are a loving, caring, and hardworking kiddo. He tries hard every single day with an absolute biggest smile on his face. He is compassionate to his friends, teachers, and peers. Genesis is always helping and encouraging his peers. If a classmate comes, completes a difficult task or accomplishes something.
