002meeting I'm Leah Travis and I'm honored to serve you in the capacity of board president first I want to offer my thanks to those who support me as it has been your support which has allowed me to serve you on this board it has truly been an honor to serve as president over these past months I had the opportunity last week to be in the presence of some middle school students who thought it important to give their goahead by me to have a snow day I just smiled so let me assure you being president does not give a board member any special privileges it simply really means that I had a lot more clerical duties I've signed a lot of contracts and financial reports on behalf of the board and I've prepared each time to
003clearly and appropriately read through the board agenda to you in these meetings otherwise a board member serving as a president is really just another board member but on a sidebar I am absolutely certain Mrs powers that all those students that were trying to have me call a snow day were very pleased with you when the snow day was declared and second I would actually like to thank Mrs powers and Mr Strickland and the other District staff who gave up time on their Thanksgiving break to handle a major roof leak at RBC they not only found ways to catch running water that was falling from the gym ceiling but they worked as fast as possible to clear the floor of water to contain and avoid any major damage to that gym's floor I also want to
004thank our maintenance crew for clearing the district roads and parking lots during our season's first snowfall and our transportation department for getting our children to school safely last Friday the day after a snow day because your time and your talent does not go unnoticed today I would like to also extend a thank you to the Twinsburg Chamber of Commerce for having our great expectation show choir perform at their luncheon today our students did a wonderful job and they definitely enjoy the opportunity to share with our community and talk about sharing if you want to get into that holiday spirit there are s several evening musical programs at this high school next week free come on out and experience our students wonderful musical talents and finally on behalf of myself and my family I want to

006hope this fall has has been a time of great learning and growing for our students and this is a reminder that our students will enjoy winter break from Monday December 23rd through Wednesday January 8th and school resumes for the second semester on Thursday January 9th report cards for the second grading period will then be posted on Friday January 10th that concludes my report for this evening and I wish everyone in Tiger Community a very happy holiday thank you um can any reports uh yes so Tuesday we had the diversity equity and inclusion committee meeting uh the committee is excited and ready to get ready to work um in 2025 um a lot of folks stated that they wanted to make progress and evoke change within the Twinsburg school system before the end of the 2024

024the boys basketball team um won 80 two to three um against barbaron in the eighth grade is playing right now also want to congratulate coach Sanders um with the high school basketball team they got their first win last week so um continue to do that I think um hockey how's hockey Heather I mean Heather your name's be so I can't even say uh hockey's doing good they had a um fundraiser at the monsters game over the weekend which was a lot of fun the kids um they'll actually get to play on the ice um at uh what is it now called quick and Loans Arena um in January and then uh uh hang out with the the players so that's exciting for them they have a tournament this weekend in Bay it's called The Bay
025tournament so they'll be I think it's at Wonder Hurst in Lakewood so we'll be there all weekend long and uh the boys and girls basketball team is a double header for girls and boys varsity only on Friday night so that's coming come out and support the varsity and then on Saturday morning the JVS of both girls and boys and freshmen of boys basketball will play Saturday morning so they're up against North Royalton so come out and support them as well right at this time it is um 7:24 and we are making a motion for adjournment I'll make the mo I arrived late and I I I didn't know where to come in at um but I wanted to share if possible I know I missed the section now it's it possible or is it monstrous

028postpartum um so um the organization has um a support group in partnership with nami of Greater Cleveland Ohio and also we are affiliated with nami of Summit County um we have the support groups twice a month we have um different events going on uh last on Sunday we had a mom's giving back where the moms um put together bags snack bags for Laura's home and we donated those to Laura's home we were able to uh contribute a 100 bags but they were saying oh well we have to split these bags because they were huge so so we were probably able to donate um for 200 people at um Loris home so it's for women and children um who are uh suffering from homelessness and also um so we did a yoga event we've done so
