Is this download? >> Yeah, you won't hear from me again. >> We'll just do PDFs. >> I have Google. >> I think my part tomorrow when I try to open it, it tries to go into my work and it fights me. So, >> my car theometer has been saying 58 degrees. So they're like, "No, it's got to be better than that." >> It's in the 60s, isn't it? >> Oh, okay. It hasn't moved all day. >> So, I think there's something wrong with it. >> They had their first tennis practice today, right? I'm so happy. It was nice and >> Oh, it's beautiful weather. >> Isn't supposed to get colder? >> I think later in the week getting >> It is. Wait a few minutes. >> Oh, look. I'll take as much of this as

we can get. >> Oh, yeah. Those are the flowers. >> Yeah, that was nice. >> Did you get to go to her ceremony? >> I didn't. I was stuck here at work. >> I went across. >> Did you? Good. >> It was crazy. >> They said it was long, too. >> Oh, really? Well, there was a lot of other clips. >> Yeah, there was like five. >> Oh, yeah. It wasn't just her. >> Yeah. I hate to miss it, but >> but it was cold. >> I was I was real warm at it. It was my fault because I should because I knew it was going to be they said it was going to be warm, so I wore something. I'm like, >> oh well. >> Thank you. >> Okay. Nobody speaking. >> Okay. Welcome

everybody to the Beaver Creek Board of Education meeting for March 9th. Um, please call the role. >> Mr. Boon >> here, >> Mrs. Hunt >> here, >> Mr. Morrison >> here, >> Mrs. Reggano >> here, >> and Mr. Taylor >> here. >> Please stand for the pledge. I pledge algiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> I need a motion, a second to approve the agendas presented. >> So move second. Please call a vote. >> Mr. Morrison, >> yes. >> Mr. Taylor, >> yes. >> Mrs. Reggano, >> yes. >> Mr. Boon, >> yes. >> And Mrs. Hunt, >> yes. >> Over to presentations. >> Okay. Uh, we have one presentation presentation this evening,

and that is a demonstration with with our transfer software program. >> Um, I'm going to turn over to Mr. Baker because I think we're going to have a lot of fun here today. >> Okay. >> Hi, everybody. Welcome. Uh my name is Josh Baker. I serve as the curriculum supervisor for the high school and uh I'm excited to share about some innovation that we have been working on in our curriculum department um that's impacting our our middle school students and our high school students. So I have a brief presentation and then uh I'm going to get to really the fun part which is at the end which will be about our our our VR headsets. So what is transfer VR? So, Transfer VR is a it's a virtual reality platform for students that allows them

to have access to career exploration um in partnership with uh with Transfer. They have done a great job of creating simulated job tasks for kids uh that relate to the 16 career clusters in the state of Ohio. So, our kids are able to access these headsets and really try on different uh different careers that they may or may not be interested in. Um, and you'll get a chance to do that here in a moment. So, I do have a very brief video that I'd like to share with you that just shares a little bit more about what transfer is and what it looks like from the student perspective. Finding a new career can be an exciting and eyeopening experience. Join us as we look at the new career exploration experience from transfer. Offering an immersive

look into a number of in- demand careers, career exploration offers hands-on simulations that allow students and job seekers to explore career options by experiencing what it's like to work a day in the life in multiple different roles and ultimately get on a path to a highpaying job. To tell us a little bit more about why we created an updated career exploration, we would like to introduce our CEO, Barani Rajakumar. Transfer's mission is to help everyone get on a career pathway to upward mobility. The reason we have that mission is because we think having a career pathway to upward mobility enables one to find their true passion and get on a pathway to independence. Career exploration plays a critical part in that mission because it gives people an opportunity to try and explore a variety of

career pathways that they may have never had an idea may be relevant to them or their interests. We're really excited about where it can go and we think there's no limit to the number of occupations that we can have. Isn't that so cool? It just is so engaging and immersive and we are working constantly to find ways to engage our students and this is a great way for them to uh to try as a ton of different careers. So what this does for our students and the benefits to our kids um is that earlier better informed pathway decisions. So we've been working over the last several years to embed some additional pathways for our high school students. Uh we've also been fortunate to receive a a grant through DODA uh which provides some STEM classrooms

at our middle schools. And you'll see here, like I just mentioned earlier, the workforce readiness. We want to try to give students as many opportunities as possible before they leave Beaver Creek City Schools and they graduate to have a pretty good idea of what is that next thing for them. Is it college? Is it career? Is it military? And we think uh transfer is a great way for them. It's very immersive and for them to interact and try some things on to maybe find I'm really interested in this. I want to pursue this a little bit more. So this is located we have this implemented at the high school uh at Ferguson Hall and our career explorations classes and also in our STEM labs at both Ankeny and Koi Middle School. So this provides broad

access to all of our secondary students. They have the opportunity uh to to try these on and and explore different career opportunities for them. Um, these are all tied to the career clusters in the state of Ohio and all of our teachers who use these have received professional development and are starting to use them now in our classrooms. These are all funded through our uh CTE equipment grant that we received from the Ohio Highway Department of Education and Workforce. Um, so there are no costs incurred from the general fund for this purchase. And uh this is just another highlight of the continued success in securing competitive grant funding to support our students. So without further ado, I thought it would be fun when as soon as I I I have seen this and experienced this,

I thought the board's got to try these. I got to make sure Mr. Hutton, Miss Kitsm Miller, and our board members has an opportunity to just have a glance at what our students have the opportunity to experience. Um so with the help of our tech department and Mr. stamper. Uh we have brought some of the MetaQuest headsets and we have the transfer VR. Um so Jamie is going to pass these out to you. What we recommend when you put these on it, just give yourself a little bit of room, but you can stay. You don't do not have to stand. >> Not YouTube, but everybody else roll back just a hair. >> Paul and Jean, be careful. >> Yes. Careful of the edge. Danny went the roadway. >> So, when you put the Oculus on,

um, it's already prepped and ready to go. Okay. Um, as Josh said, this gives you, um, a glimpse into what it is like to do different careers. I believe there are 61 options now. And to be honest, we didn't want you to sit there and just scroll through 61 options trying to figure out what to do. So, we narrowed it down to about 13. Um, Joy, I know that you will be happy to know that we left knee surgery in there. >> I was just pointing that out. >> Does everybody have one? >> Oh, let me give you that part. Um, if you find that the headset is too loose, there is a strap on the top that is Velcro that will tighten it down some. If you find it's too tight, um, and I

didn't see any problems were, um, but you just do the reverse. Um, go ahead and pick up your um your two handheld controllers once you get your your headset on there. And if any, you just want to reach your hands out. >> There you go. Got it. >> Yep. Got it. >> Okay. And you're going to find that there are a couple of triggers that are um at your index finger and it's your thumb. And those are the ones that you're primarily going to be using. Um they're the ones on the back side. So you'll see the tiles at the kind of right above you. Okay. um you just simply point one of your handhelds at it and uh pull the trigger on your index finger and it should select it and then it'll walk

you through it. Uh each one is about 3 to 5 minutes so they're pretty short. Okay, you can jump in. If you don't like one, you can back out of it. You go to another. >> So does it just come on? Can you see any options Julia? Yeah, I've got pointed to one but nothing happened. >> Then you then I think >> once you are highlighted on that >> Oh, you need >> Well, I'll tell you the other trick is >> okay. Once you click on the picture, then watch. >> Yep. Then you should be able to Does it say like start or >> Nope, doesn't say anything. >> All right. Can I see Can I see your headset? Let me see what these two right here at an angle. >> Yeah, mine's not saying

anything either. >> Um, this one doesn't. So, normally you just tighten it to where you want. >> Which one do you want to try? If you want to do There's knee surgery, there's care for a dog and ear. There is. >> Let's swap it over. >> The second one. >> You want You can demolish an overpass. >> Oh, yeah. Okay. Let's >> see. >> I can't get it. >> Yes. >> Okay. Play button in the upper right hand corner. >> Just aim at that button. camera demolishing the window right now. >> You got that little trigger right there. >> Just pull that little trigger. >> Go ahead. And >> so where it says start >> where it says start it up >> and nothing's happening. >> Not there. >> Can I steal from you for

a second? Okay. Let me let me take one more look. J >> I mean I hit the start but >> it just came up for a second try. It should tell you what to do. >> Where's mine? >> Here's your right. >> Here's your left. >> Beth, are you laughing at me? >> No, I am not actually. >> How do we do this? >> I am taking pictures. >> Denny, did you get in? Okay. >> Yeah. All right. >> I'm watching. >> Great. Excellent. >> It's not coming. first. I don't know. >> Oh, can I hear it? >> I am grabbing it. >> And it's not coming. >> There's one of these little triggers here. Your index finger up a little bit. There's a little trigger button. >> And move your finger up just a

little bit. Julian >> here. >> Nope. Go up. There you go. Those There's another little button. I love it as long as it works. >> And it's not coming in my life. >> And it won't come. >> Go all the way up to your face. If it doesn't. >> You knew I was standing right there because I was worried every time you turn. >> Hey lady, I am grabbing it. >> Now it's gone. >> Okay, I think I got it. >> Did you get that one? >> Now I just see you. >> You see me? Okay. >> Might be. >> Yeah. Let me let me see one more time. >> Cut the side of it too many times. I got the right components. >> You do. >> Keep telling me grab it. I am grabbing

it. >> Problem over here. >> It looks like you >> switch them. It's telling me to pick something up that's under the table in my picture. >> I'm in the middle of dusting fingerprints. >> Oh, all right. That's good. >> Me, too. >> Get to see it from that side. >> There we go. >> Oh, that's cool. >> Daddy laying on a beach. OKAY. >> The other ones I saw lines >> pointers. At least I know >> how many table can't reach what I'm supposed to grab. >> So when the kids do it during a normal class during career expiration class about five to seven months. >> So, you can kind of get through a couple and try it like I kind of like that or I want to do that one again. >> I

did I did a knee surgery. I did the change all the options to play or pick up the >> but kind of still you set up like a perimeter. Did you get in? Did you get >> I got in? Yeah. >> I won't let you pick anything up, but okay. What you picking up? >> I was dusting for prints, collecting samples. >> Okay. Well, I'm just The woman can say pick it up. >> She was insistent like the disadvantage of not doing this. >> Well, maybe I learn how to do this. Maybe that's unlike my hand is on it, >> right? >> But what a wish this would have been like this. >> Oh my gosh. >> What an opportunity for Did you do the knee surgery? >> What do you want to know? >>

And if you push the buttons, you'll see the line. >> This is so cool. I'm going to smack my face on the table. >> But it's like down there. >> She's an expert at it. >> She is a recipient. >> I did the surgery. >> It wanted me to swap something on the floor that I can't reach. I did an airplane tire to >> go back over and do the do the thing like >> you feel like you're in another place. You don't even know you're in this room. >> I can hear you. >> Oh, you can hear my my brother can hear me in Florida. Hey, I never needed a microphone in the classroom. Tony Terry would say, "I can hear you down the hallway." >> Poer lines are supposed to be moving. They

should move with when you move. >> Thank you for sharing. You're so welcome. Yeah, we just started the semester. So, >> kids are loving it. >> They're going to love it. They're not >> awesome though. >> I feel like we're going to have to party at your house this week. >> It was I'll leave it at the end. If you want to see the end, that's fine. >> Now, the first set I had, I could control the lines >> wherever I wanted to. >> That was the one that didn't fit. >> And these not sure. >> Okay. >> Yeah. So, we we we just we thought it was important for you guys to just experience that a little bit. Just get a a little taste. And um you know, it's been a lot of fun

to see our kids use these. It also u something I didn't mention it does give our students the ability if they find something that they're really interested in um let's say it's like air traffic control they can also through the platform it tells them information about where they could go get certified for that uh where they could go to college um salary information certifications that they can earn all within the platform. So, it's not just uh it's not just the experience of doing uh whatever the the career is, but it tells them more information about next steps if they're curious. So, I hope you enjoyed that. Thanks for allowing me to to share that with you and have a great evening. Thank you. >> Thank you so much. >> Thank you, Josh. It's always fun

when you get to watch the board members play a little bit. That'd be a lot of fun. >> Yeah. >> So, there are questions or comments from the public. So, I'm going to need a motion, a second for the approval of the minutes for the February 10th, 2026 regular board meeting. >> Second, >> Co. >> Mr. Taylor, >> yes. >> Mrs. Reano, >> yes. >> Mr. Boon, >> yes. >> Mrs. Hunt, >> yes. >> And Mr. Morris? >> Yes. >> And we're items for discussion. >> Yes. So, we have a number of items tonight for discussion. First one, uh, first two I'd like to ask Mr. Weman to come up to cover items one and two. >> Good evening. Thank you very much board members. Mr. Odden, um this is this will be real quick.

Um as you are aware, we have posted uh three positions um for the director of business services position um and then curriculum and instruction director position and special services director position. And this uh these are the job descriptions in draft form. Um we had to make some updates. We combined um our current job description. Uh we went to some resources to review current work and evaluate other types of similar job descriptions uh and have the draft form here for you this evening. Uh it is in draft form. Uh it will be brought back in April uh in a finalized form. So between now and then if you have questions or you want to talk about that a little bit you can get in touch with me uh and we'll do that but we'll review it

as a cabinet level as well and have a final version for your approval. Um we have started the search for for those positions as well. Uh and um our intent is at the April board meeting to bring the names of three individuals for those positions to you also. Um and so that's in front of you. Um and then also as an item of discussion with the changes in the titles um and the updated job descriptions if it's necessary to change just the title on the administrative salary schedule. So that's item number two is the administrative salary schedule. No change in the salary information just that one line on the um salary schedule where those titles existed. So that reflects those changes in the titles as well. And those are the two items I have for

you this evening. Any questions? Okay. And if you have questions between, just let me know. >> Thank you. >> Um, item three is a is a item that the board approves each year. Uh, that is the OSAA, which is the Ohio High School Athletic Association governing board resolution. Um, this allows us the opportunity to participate in OSAA to be recognized as an OSAA sport. Um, so that is on here as well as an item for board discussion and I believe we will be bringing this back uh next month for approval. Um, the the other one item four would like to throw this out to the board. We've been in conversation with SHP Leading Design. They're the firm that has been working on our master facility plan. Uh, really kind of gathering information from community members.

We had about 300 community members that had that we included with a reachout survey. They would like to not only present some information to the board, but would also like to get feedback from the board. And as you know, that's very difficult to do because we typically need to have a meeting if we're going to have all five board members or if we're going to have a quorum. So, what we are proposing is at our next board meeting, which happens to be April 16th. Um, we would like to see if the board would be open to doing a 5:30 work session on that date. Um, we believe it'll probably be about 45 minutes, no, clearly no longer than an hour, uh, to let SHP come in and really present to the board. Uh, they're not

going to present a plan. They're just presenting options and thoughts the of what they're gathering from the community and then to gather the the board's thoughts. I think we'll have a later presentation on uh really what that plan looks like uh moving forward. But what I would propose to the board is if we got here at five o'clock, we would provide dinner for the board at five and then we would do a work session starting at 5:30 with the hope of being done about 6:15 and then we would close that meeting and then open up the regular meeting at 6:30 same day. >> Works for me. >> That's fine. >> Okay. All right. Great. Well, then we will go ahead and uh put out that that information publicly and we'll we I don't want to

have it on here. Joy, I know you look to see if I have it for approval. Um, but we will push out something so that we uh can have that announcement by the timeline. So, unless you want to add something, Joy, >> we could amend number 10. Bring it take a motion in a second, bring it up, and then have somebody motion to amend number 10 and add that to it. >> Okay. Okay. >> Um as number seven to um change the the start time of the >> Do you want to call it a work session? >> A work session. Um yeah. Yeah. >> So we're just going to add that. We're going to add it on. >> It's number seven. >> Yeah, it's number seven. >> Okay. >> So somebody would need to make

a motion to bring that, >> you know, somebody else you make that motion now or later. >> No, when we get to that part. Okay. Yeah. >> You going to motion it? >> I will. >> Okay. I knew how quick you were turning that page. >> She keeps us legal. Okay. >> That's right. And that concludes items for board discussion. >> Okay. All right. To financial reports. I'm going to need a motion and second to approve the following. February 2026 financial reports. Fiscal year 2026 amended certificate of estimated resources and appropriations. Resolution accepting the amounts and rates as determined by the budget commission and authorizing the necessary tax levies and certifying them to the county auditor and February donations. Motion in a second, please. So moved. >> Second. >> Um discussion. >> Yeah, just just

a little bit. Actually, I I don't have much of a report. It's going to be pretty short. If you notice number three, this resolution accepting the amounts and rates, that is the exact same resolution that I brought to you in February, um the Green County auditor realized that there were some mistakes made, so he had to reissue these for all the school districts. Um and so this is the reissuance of that resolution. Um but if you remember what I said, I assume there's going to be a third one based on House Bill 186. um because we still don't have the the amounts that we're going to be able to collect until House Bill 186 until the Ohio Department of Taxation figures out what that deflator looks like for our taxpayers. Um so I assume there's

going to be a third one. So you you'll see this again. Um but this is the corrected one um that does not have the deflator or the credit to our taxpayers at this point. Um monthly financials. um as I looked at those um numbers and reports um continue to trend favorably against the five-year forecast for both the receipts and expenditures. Operating receipts stand at 65% with additional revenue expected upon receipt of the first half calendar year 2026 um real estate property tax settlement. Um we've received three advances but we haven't received the final um settlement at this point from either Green or Montgomery County. And I think both of their bills got sent out just a little bit later than normal, which I understand um with everything that's going on. And as for expenditures, they

stand at 64% of the budget. So again, overall, we're right where we need to be. So um that is it. >> Okay. Any other discussion? >> Okay, please call a vote. >> I have Mrs. Reggano. >> Yes. >> Mr. Boon, >> yes. >> Mrs. Hunt, >> yes. >> Mr. Morrison. >> Yes. >> And Mr. Taylor. >> Yes. >> Made a motion is second to approve the following new business items. The employment salary changes leave of absence and terminations. Cert is certified board report and B is classified board report. Resolution to adopt a cyber security framework. Resolution regarding ransomware. Fiscal year 27 contract from green ESC. Job description update reading specialists the new title and the approval of BCA negotiated agreement. >> Like to make a motion to amend the agenda to include a work session

at 5:30 p.m. on April 16th as number seven. >> Need a motion to second? >> Yes, please. >> So I second it. Okay. >> All right. Thanks. >> Um I do want to cover a couple of these items. First of all, I would like to draw your attention to two and three. Um this is in response to House Bill 96. Uh it requires school districts to adopt a resolution for cyber security framework. Um we use what is called the NIST. is the National Institute of Standards in Technology um framework. So we are basically stating what framework we're going to be using and then the resolution regarding ransomware that is what what's if a school district um if your information is held in ransom what this policy is basically saying is that the board cannot move

forward with paying a ransom uh to free up their data without bringing it publicly before the board and the board would have to approve that. Um, so that's what the resolution states. I would like to commend Mike Schuman on doing this work. Um, we said this Mike's job, Mike creating these resolutions was probably the best we've seen. So Mike's going to be our new resolution writer. >> Thank you. >> So thank you, Michael. That's good. >> Um, but that's what those two are for. Item four is the contract that we approve each year with the Green County Educational Service Center. That is obviously a large contract, but those are services that that are needed for us to be able to serve our students. Um, and they provide great services to us. So, this is our

annual uh approval. You saw that last month and we brought it back for approval tonight. And then, uh, the BCEA negotiated agreement. Uh, this is on here. The BCEA ratified their their contract last week. Um and so we are asking the board to approve that tonight uh so that we can tie a bow on that one and then once uh BEA ratifies their contract we will have that on our next agenda in April. That concludes new business. >> Okay. >> Mr. Boon, >> yes. >> Mrs. Hunt, >> yes. >> Mr. Morrison, >> yes. >> Mr. Taylor, >> yes. >> And Mrs. Reggano, >> yes. >> And we're to announcements. So March 10th, nominations are closed for outstanding educator and outstanding support staff of the year awards. March 12th, facilities and capital planning community forum at

Maine Elementary from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. March 23rd through the 27th is spring break. There's no school. March 30, the superintendent community chat from 2 to 3 pm at Panera Bread at 27:51 North Fairfield Commons. And um April 3rd, no school. April 6, no school. April 16th, superintendence community chat from 9 to 10:00 a.m. at Panera 49 Chess. Oh, that's at the green. >> Yes. >> Okay. Yep. Okay. That's changed from April 9th. And that's it for announcements. So, we're into board comments this time. No, you don't usually pick me person. >> Uh, it's always a surprise. >> I don't have a lot. Uh, just I wanted to quick thank uh Beth and her team for um the dinner, the kickoff that we attended for the DODIA grant. I know there's a bigger name for

all of what happened, but sounds like it was amazing over three days. I wish we had seen all of it, but um I've heard great things and the dinner was lovely and it was great to meet people. So, thank you for doing that. Um just wanted to congratulate our winter sports teams. Most of them are finished. Several um have advanced to state or some of them have won state titles. That's pretty exciting. Um as well as our JRI competed this weekend at nationals. Correct. >> Fourth place at nationals. >> Um so that's awesome. And then um just a note on the announcements that tomorrow or excuse me the 10th is the nomination closing date. Um I just want to encourage people if you're watching online if you haven't done anything to nominate anyone for whether

it be a staff member or a teacher. Please do that. Those things I think are really important. You know we all know we have amazing staff but it's really great for them to to get a a personalized letter saying what impact they've had on your child. So please do that if you haven't. And for those senior parents we're 75 days to graduation. So, >> not that I'm counting. All right, that's where we're at. >> Okay, you're sharing. >> Yeah. Okay, >> Mr. Taylor. >> All right. >> Um, so for Mr. Baker presentation, >> he took those heads. >> He's trying to fix your headset. >> Great presentation. If I had only been able to see it, it would have been super great because I just see for what I can see in the open screen,

it was uh night nice to do that. U basically what it boils down to is the students don't know what they don't know and it's when it comes to careers. So we've been having this discussion at the career center. I'll drag them in on this one as well. Um we had actually started uh earlier with kindergarten first second it's fifth I think uh we published book booklets that uh should be our kindergarteners first and second graders have in their hands and fifth graders have a thing called a B box uh as a programming thing that they can that they can play with. Uh so then to get kids interested uh in in that um those kind of things. I think the kindergarten was called there the hat for that. >> So um it's exciting stuff.

Exciting stuff and um really need to uh give kids the opportunity at least the information to look at what careers are available and what they what they might choose. I know when the eighth graders go through the career center, if you could sign them all up right then, they'd all go they'd all go and sign bus. So, I want to be within life intervenes, you know, and they think, well, I'm think I'm going to war college or I think I'll go to the military or something like that. But, uh, it is so exciting out there. But, that's my my big thing here, uh, is on the career presentations and, uh, of course, administrative team, you guys are always more than awesome. Um, being very transparent, getting information out there and, uh, that is so important

because, you know, what we've heard over the years all the time is you guys aren't transparent, you're not telling us everything that's going on. Uh, well, you know, it's like just pay attention. It'd be great. But, uh, as the case is, that's not always the case. Um for the career center uh we just finished our open house. We had about 1,400 people there. Well, a lot of them were just kids. So very excited about showing their parents around and meeting the different instructors that there are. And um it was very very very exciting. Uh we had a walk through with a guy named Charlie Shore and Charlie Shore gave the career center 500,000 Mr. Dins who was our superintendent who was in charge of raising money. Great idea, but who's got time for that? But

uh but you got this Charlie Shore guy and Charlie Shore is the owner of a factory in Cincinnati uh whose primary business is making paper bags. Uh and he also as a child had epilepsy. So he is at the end of his career and he has a pretty good chunk of money he wants to give away to various causes and career tech is one of them and the EP epilepsy epilepsy foundation is another one. So he was very excited. He was very impressed. We took him around. He got to meet the kids. One thing that that they do out there which is so impressive is that they um work with the kids on presentation, personal presentation. You know what's it like as an employee to talk to someone else to give them soft skills in

their job so that when they go to talk to somebody important, they'll be able to handle themselves. And that was very impressive. Uh we took uh him through the welding lab and kids came over immediately and showed him what they were doing and talked very well about it in terms of what they were doing. Very articulate and could tell him exactly what what they were doing. And uh of course uh he was given some bling from the welding departments and I won't go into too much description but it was awesome as you would expect. Uh we're in the process of expanding services. Um the Charlie Shore grant was primarily used to double the size of our welding program and the cost of that was around $500,000 >> for new stations and all the utilities to

go with that. Turns out welding has a lot of utilities with it, gas and electric and all those kind of things. So, we're expanding that. We're expanding um we're expanding our culinary department. Um we're going to double the size of that uh probably next year. And we're building a 350 seat ballroom uh that we can have larger um larger groups in with because we have a lot of requests from different organizations and sometimes they outsize the space that we have for that. So having that and having another group of culinary students allows us to service way more people and um it gives the kids very much hands-on uh opportunities to work with that. So everything from waiting tables to making soup to all the cool desserts we have when we go to our Christmas day.

And um let's see um we are also expanding oh I just mentioned that culinary and we're in the process of thinking about one of the groups pathways that we tend to turn away most kids with is uh culinary. So obviously we need that. Um, interestingly enough, cosmetology, I walked in during open house and said, "Is there anything you can do for me?" I hope you can. I need some work. Uh, but the other thing is healthcare and exercise science. So, we have bought a big chunk of land all the way across um the road from the career center and we're uh in the process of planning another building there hopefully with the um with the expertise of Ketarine Health kicking in because we are kind of that part of Green County is kind of a

health desert. So, it gives the opportunity for that to be addressed. So, okay, that's it. >> Okay, >> I have more, but don't stop. >> Mr. Morrison's looking to scrutiny. So, >> not that. >> Okay, you're next, Mr. Morrison. >> Next. Okay, that's a tough act to follow. Let me tell you. Okay. Um, in agreement with what Christa said, congratulations to all of our winter sports activities that are finishing up. Uh, again, phenomenal season, finishing primarily first, second, and third and all of our competitions. Uh, special kudos to our boys and girls uh, bowling teams. They did not make it to the state, but they did uh, win the GWAK. So, congratulations to them. Uh, so many exciting things going on. on the uh uh first of all the Midwest Show Choir Classic which we

had in January and then of course just recently the weekend of jazz uh event. um just learned as I'm sure you guys did also the speech and and debate competition where we had uh all of our competitors did a nice job in particular Elliot Chen finished sixth in United States extemporaneous uh Kevin McCrae Jr. who was fifth in original oratory. Sura Selvin was a state champion in declamation and she's our fourth state champion in school's history. Uh we finished 15th as a team in the state. So congratulations to them. And then I heard I did not attend but I heard recently that there was a I don't know if it was a dance competition or a dance event and I heard that a certain board member uh that was up and participating and I was

just wondering if we were going to see any of those moves this evening or or not. So who knows but congratulations to everyone. >> Let me just put it this way. See this one over here and that one over there and the one next to him. I wasn't the only one in this little dance video next. >> It was >> okay. There you go, Mr. Boom. >> I was there all day. I left right before that because I had three very very kids in the the stands. I want to be there anymore, >> but I just missed out on that. Uh but yeah, I wanted to to shout out to a lot of the the uh programs for the winter competitions. We have state champs in swimming. Um I know wrestling, we've got state competition

coming up and coach Weiss, happy birthday. Um esports, uh which I always said was going to be a thing when I was in high school and I'm glad to see that it is. Um Jay Rosy, debate, cross country, bowling. I mean, everyone's doing great. Um and also good luck to people who haven't finished out this season. Um, another shout out for the the maintenance appreciation day was last week. Um, you know, so shout out to them because they do a whole lot that doesn't I don't think get recognized all that often. Uh, Beth the Dodia, that was a lot of fun. Thank you for that. Um, I saw lunch debt donations. Those are incredible. Uh, thanks the community for those. Um, and then spring break and Easter coming up and uh, so >> it's not

hard when you see that weather and we're in here. >> That'll be graduation before we know it. graduation. >> So that's all I've got. >> Crazy. >> Okay. Well, I do have some things. >> So, first of all, the the grand opening of Beaver's Den that was so you know what, this real life hands-on learning for our kids is amazing. I mean, we've got the ground the ground coffee shop. I mean, that's amazing. But the mer I bought two pairs of earrings, you know, it's the merchandise there was great and these kids just were so self-confident. I mean, it's amazing what they do. And I went to the classroom where these things are actually produced. I swear it's like a factory. I mean, what they can do. We are so fortunate to have teachers in

our district that allow our kids to do this and bring this to our students because they were so excited. So that was a fun morning. Then our Beaver Creek High School band concerts, those were great. They're always so good and they're so exciting. Talk about talent on that stage and you've got Matt Frost up there doing his thing and they had his student teacher and that's always fun to see and the kids love them. Weekend of jazz, let me just tell you, Lucky Chops, I want to call them pork chops if they're not. It's Lucky Chops out of New York City. They were the best ever. Ever. I'm just going to tell you this. They their interaction with the audience was amazing. They came down off the stage and were walking through the audience. Kids

are dancing in the aisles. I was up dancing. Okay. But and the message to the kids had such a positive message. There isn't anything you can't do. I mean, they talked about how they started out in the New York subway. And I'm like, I could relate to all that. And how their mission was because they were saying people in New York are just moving, moving, moving. They haven't got time to stop. And I'm like, okay, that's true. But their mission was that they had to play music and change it so quickly that people wanted to stop and listen. Theirs was the most upbeat concert I have ever attended. And I attend all these weekend of jazz, but this one was just you. The minute I got in the car, I was texting Matt Frost. I

said, "You have got to bring these people back." So they were and to the parents that helped put this together. This is nothing easy to put on. We're talking two days. So thank you to the parents. Thank you Matt Frost and the kids. It just with all the other bands that came in for the weekend, it's just a great day. Now, Dancing with the All Stars, so we had two rehearsals prior to this. I got to tell you, those kids are amazing. They are self-confident. Thank God they knew what they were doing because we were following them. Because I mean I even went home and practiced but we had our own little shirts microphones with it was just so much fun being with these kids and I want to thank Paige Rosati and her team.

Talk about dedication and commitment to these students. I can cry. Um this teacher has so much love for these kids. And the kids love her. These kids know they can do anything they want to do. But she doesn't got there early and the kids are eating in the classroom. Everybody's so laidback and I'm like this is I'm like this ought to be really interesting. But when you get on the floor, Paige said to me, "When you get on the floor with those kids, it's going to be something like you've never experienced before." And she was right. And the audience was very accommodating. Thank you. >> But it was But you had to see these three. Yeah. >> Oh, and Tyler was up front the whole time with his microphone and he was moving that thing.

Oh, yeah. And Laura Bailey, it was I want to thank him for allowing me to do this because it was my debut and retiring in three minutes. That's how I looked. That was it. Yep. Now the Rosy people I spent two hours with our Jay Rossy kids today. They invited me over. So not only did I'm then two weeks ago on the 21st of February spent the day there. They had their drill meet they called it. Of course out of eight events out of 10 events they took first place and eight eight out of 10 and then of course took it all. But then of course this weekend, the one time I go there, I couldn't get there because of all the other events I was involved in, I emailed Dave Mack and said, "You

got to let me know what happens." And of course, they came at first and they invited me over today. This is the most exciting day ever. So they we have three pilots in this classroom right now. We have nine altogether that are certified FAA pilots, 17 years old, 16 years old. these three pilots today. I already explained this to you, but one of them so the commander who is um Sarah Sierra Trumble put me on a flight simulator and it's a good thing she started me in air in flight because I understand if she would have started me on the ground or going in for a landing we would have been dead. So she said, "You know, Jo, you've got to control with this and you do this." I'm like, she was amazing. And then

I just have to tell you this Caleb Kajar. So you've got the other two flight instructors. You've got Sierra one corner, Wesley Steven in the other. So half the class is on these flight simulators. The other half the class you've got, I want to make sure I got Caleb up here, whiteboard charts. He's got these diagrams. So I'm sitting there now with this coordinator's got these numbers all over the board and this chart. I'm like, and I said to Dave, Maggie, how is this happening as Joanne? It's amazing. And I'll tell you why. Because these kids again have instructors that believe in them. I mean these kids, this country is in such good hands with these kids because if you ever attend any of their drills, the precision it takes to implement what they do

would blow your minds. They are so right on. And to be with them today and see the I told them they've got to come toward me because they're reading charts and air maps. I'm like, but to see the 17-year-old kid in front of and it's kids teaching kids. That's that's what's so important. Kids teaching kids. So, I want to thank Dave Mackey. I also want to thank him for letting me shadow him on February 21st because they're bouncing all over the high school, this gym and this events and this gym. And I got to follow him and I got to ask any questions I wanted. He explained everything which was great. But I this between the dance team and the Jay Rosy team and you know what both these sets of kids are exactly alike.

They both have confidence in themselves. They both feel good about and they think they can do anything because guess what they can. So I really want to thank them for allowing me to be part of this. Oh, and our high school drum line, our indoor drum line this weekend. Guess what? Guess who took first place? Oh, let me thank Beaver Creek High School and our middle school took second place. So, that was exciting. And I want to thank Beth for being our tour guide for the Dodia people. And they were very impressed with our Jay Rossy kids who spoke before them. They were very impressed with them. And I want to congratulate Christine Hawker as our new fire chief. I'm telling you, this is the most exciting school district. It really is. And it's because

of our leadership. Just saying. It is. And because when you have great leaders, how do the kids not believe in themselves? I truly believe that. So, I want to thank every administrator here, every teacher. And I want to thank our kids for being the incredible kids they are. They were telling me tonight that other school districts are calling our Jay Rozy people wanting to know how their kids can be part of our Jay Rosy. They can't. We have the largest JRI in the state. 180 cadets with a weight list. So what does it tell you about Beaver Creek? We are fabulous. Just saying. I truly know that. So with that, I need a motion or a second to take us into executive session for the appointment, employment, and discipline of public employees, Ohio Revised Code

.22G1. Court action, Ohio Revised Code 121.22 G3. Pending or litigation and collective bargaining, Ohio Revised Code 121.22 G4. So moved. >> Second. >> Any discussion? >> Okay. Cover. >> Mrs. Hunt. >> Yes. >> Mr. Morrison. >> Yes. >> Mr. Taylor. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Rebella. >> Yes. >> And Mr. >> Yes.
