Um, I will tell you, obviously, we set these every year. We do modify them throughout the year. there. We may be seeing a modification in uh September or October because we tend to do a joint session with the city and the township and that date and location has not been set yet. Uh so once that is finalized, we may be asking the board to modify one of those uh board meetings. But other than that, uh the only three that don't meet the uh criteria that we typically follow, I
believe, are February, March, and June. Maybe they're identified with uh uh bold and underlined uh on the calendar. So those are just we needed to make some adjustments early on, but those it I it appears from your emails that those dates work for everybody. That concludes new business. >> Okay. >> I need a motion. German. >> I need a motion and a second. >> I need a motion to second to approve the board of education meeting. >> Yes. So move >> dates. She works here. She's uh one of his um one of the people in the department. Mike Mike had a family uh Ruth has granddaughter's birthday parties this morning. agenda for January 3rd, 2026. Please call the role. >> Mr. Boone >> here, >> Mrs. Hunt >> here, >> Mr. Morrison >> here, >> Mrs. Reggano >> here, >> and Mr. Taylor >> here. Need a motion, a second to approve the agendas presented. So moved. >> Second. Let's call >> Mr. Taylor. >> Yes. >> Mr. Boo. >> Yes. Mrs. Hunt, >> yes. >> Mr. Morrison, >> yes. >> And Mrs.
Organo, >> yes. >> There are no questions or comments from the public. So, I need a motion, a second to approve the December 16th, 2025 regular board of education meeting. >> School move. >> Second. >> Mr. Boone. >> Yes. >> You can extend. >> Yes. You're good. [laughter] >> Mrs. Hunt. >> Yes. >> Mr. Morrison. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Reggano. >> Yes. Yes. And Mr. Taylor. >> Yes. >> And we're items for discussion. >> Okay. We've got one item for discussion. I'm going ask Mr. Alexander to come up to talk about uh Prodigy Building Solutions and our HVAC project. >> Good morning. Uh as we have talked on multiple occasions. Uh back in 2023, uh the district underwent a facilities audit. Uh one of the uh key components of that audit was HVAC at Beaver
Creek High School. Uh we have uh put together as a part of the capital plan a multiplephase project uh at Beaver Creek to at Beaver Creek High School to have uh to upgrade the HVAC um components of the building. Uh this is phase one of uh two to three phases. Uh this project will uh cost will come out of the capital plan and be roughly $2 million. Uh this will work place six air handlers and controls uh at Beaver Creek High School. Uh we have engaged with Four Seasons Environmental who um who also did the facilities audit to be our owners rep. Uh they are experts in this area. Uh they assisted us with writing the RFP. Uh we went out to bid. Uh we had three companies that came to the pre-bid walkthrough and
two of those companies then submitted bids uh for the project. Uh Prodigy uh was selected uh their cost was the lowest but also uh we have experience with Prodigy within the district. Uh in 2021 uh they completed an H an air handler and boiler upgrade at Ankeny Middle School and that project was very successful. So, we're very confident in uh in Prodigy and we are uh excited to have this project at Beaver Creek High School because the HVAC systems are causing us some problems at the high school due to their age. Uh this project will begin uh right after school is out and will be completed before uh school begins. Um it's a significant project. We are also asking for approval of this today and the reason is is lead time on getting the equipment
in so that we can begin uh right at the beginning of June. And so um are there any questions? >> Is it just RTU units? >> Yes. >> In those units, >> any of the interior ducting or >> no duct work at this time. Um, we will be looking at uh duct work and boilers and uh mass control changes uh in the future, but right now our main issues are the the air handlers on the roofs. >> Okay. >> Right. Thank you. >> Thank you. Obviously, that is I believe Tyler said this, but that'll be on for approval on the same agenda. [clears throat] Under financial reports, I need a motion, a second to approve the monthly financial reports in fiscal year 2026 amended certificate of estimated resources and appropriations. >> So move >> second
>> discussion. This was the quickest closing I've ever had considering today is the third. I was amazed that I had financial reports ready for you, honestly. Um but it everything worked out, thank goodness. Um so as we look at our December financial report, we've reached the halfway um point of the fiscal year. Expenditures are right on track. Salaries are at 48.6, benefits are at 47%. Um and since these two categories represent the majority of our general fund spending, [snorts] staying aligned here is our key indicator of fiscal health. On the revenue side, we have collected 47 and a half percent of our anticipated funds knowing that our property taxes in the second half are always larger than the first half. Um so bottom line, we're right where we should be at midpoint of the year
with both revenues and expenditures tracking um appropriately. House bills 124, 129, 186, 335, and 309 have all been signed by the governor. Um those were signed on December 19th. Um, I've sat through three PDs now at this point and um, nobody still knows the ultimate impact on school finances and what this is going to look like for us. Um, there is a four-year forecast. I mean, that's what we have now. Um, that is due in February and that was approved by the legislators um, as part of the new budget bill, House Bill 96 in June. Um not sure what that's going to look like at this point if they have not released what it's going how it's going to impact us [clears throat] um with what they've done with these five new bills. So and
our board meeting is a little bit earlier next month, but we'll just we'll see. Um and if it's not exactly where it needed to be, then I'll bring it back again in May like I normally do. Um at that point, knowing that hopefully by then we'll have a lot better figures. Um and we completed our audit. I signed off on that. It was due on December 31st. I signed off on December 30th. We were pushing the wire on that one. Um but it just the feds because the feds shut down. They hadn't released all of their um instructions on how to do a single audit, which we are a single audit district because we receive more than 3/4 of a million in federal funds. So, we were waiting on them and then we we were
already looking for an extension. We thought for sure we were going to have to extend, but we were they released it and then we pushed through in the final two weeks. So, um, that report should be coming out, I would think, within the next couple months from the state auditor as to how we did. So, at this point, I think it was a clean audit, but we never know until they go through it line by line. So, and that's it unless there's any questions. >> Okay, let's call the vote. >> Call the RO. Mrs. Hunt, >> yes. >> Mr. Morrison, >> yes. >> Mrs. Organo, >> yes. >> Mr. Taylor, >> yes. >> And Mr. Ben. >> Yes. >> Okay, we need a motion and second for new visits for board action for these items.
Employment salary changes, leaves of absence and terminations, certified board report and classified board report. Prodigy Building Solutions HVAC project high school in December of 2026. MCS and Associates Owners Repulting Services, SHP Agreement for Limited Professional Services, 2026 27 program of study, [snorts] mediation agreement, and the [clears throat] only policy updates. Motion in a second. >> So moved. >> Second. >> Discussion. >> Uh yeah, we have a couple items I'd like to just talk about. First one is under uh employment salary changes, leaving of absences under our certified report. Unfortunately, there's a name on there we hate to see on that name, but we're very excited for her. And that's uh Bobby Fury. So, >> is she allowed to? >> Yeah. Only only [laughter] if you guys accept her resignation. >> Yeah. Only if you acceptation.
Okay. >> So, >> uh we're very excited for Bobby. I know Bobby is I've I've enjoyed talking with Bobby over the last couple weeks just about Milford and uh you know she's going in there and uh she's going to be awesome for that job. So we are going to miss her significantly but I feel like she's only a phone call away. I just hope that she answers the phone when we call her. So [laughter] >> well we'll just show up then. So, uh, wish her well and we do have her till really technically I think the 19th. She starts there the 20th if I'm correct. Um, and then, uh, we just like to talk about program studies. We went through that with the board last month that we've added that in here for approval. That'll
allow our, uh, staff to start moving forward uh, with with planning for next year. Um and then the Neola policies obviously that's a large uh group of policies that this is the second reading so we'll put those in place u when we return. So that's it. That's all I have. >> Please call the role. >> Mr. Morrison. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Organo. >> Yes. >> Mr. Taylor. >> Yes. >> Mr. Boon. >> Yes. >> And Mrs. Hunt. >> Yes. And we're to the superintendent report. Okay. Bobby, will you hand these out since you last time? >> Thank you. All right. Today we celebrate schoolboard recognition month and the best thing is we're recognizing this uh at the very start of January, January 3rd. So, I would like to express our deepest gratitude to each member
of our school board. Your dedication to serving our district's more than 8,300 students and staff members doesn't just shape policy, it shapes futures. Now, let me tell you what board members really sign up for. Evening meetings that can run through dinner and up past bedtime. Emails and text messages at all hours. And the unique honor of being simultaneously thanked and criticized often by the same person in the same week. You know you've made it as a board member when you can't go to the grocery store without someone cornering you in the cereal aisle to discuss a school event, policy, or a decision that was made. Yet, here you are. You still show up and you serve for our kids. Speaking of showing up, we've had an incredible mix on this board. Four of you are
seasoned veterans who've served multiple terms. You've seen trends come and go, weathered countless challenges, and probably memorized Robert's Robert's rules of orders in your sleep. Joanne has gotten very good at this as we go through board book reviews. And then we have our newest member who is literally on day three of this adventure. Danny, welcome to the deep end. Don't worry, the water is fine and your fellow board members are excellent swim instructors. Every decision you make, every late night spent in board meetings or at your kitchen table preparing to review the materials for those meetings and every challenging conversation you navigate stems from your unwavering commitment to putting our students first. Let's be honest, you certainly do not do it for the money and you don't do it for the fame. You do it
because you're positively changing the lives of our students every single day. What truly sets you apart is your consistent focus on making decisions that benefit not just our students, but the families and our entire community. You carefully weigh each choice, considering its long-term impact on our district's future. This isn't just governance. It's stewardship of the community's most precious resource, our children's education. Working alongside you daily, I witness firsthand your thoughtful deliberations, your willingness to tackle difficult issues, and your genuine care for our educational community. It's not an easy role, and it's often a thankless one, but you serve with grace, wisdom, and an unwavering commitment of excellence. On behalf of the students, staff, families, and community, thank you for your selfless service and dedication to the educational excellence that we have here in Beaver Creek.
Whether you're celebrating years of service or just starting day three, we are truly blessed to have such a committed group of leaders guiding our district forward. So, thank you for all that you do. The gifts that you have were made by our students and uh so we're excited for you to have those. If we can give our board a big round of applause. [applause] >> Earrings. Thank you, Mrs. >> A little beaver earrings. >> Little beaver earrings. >> You didn't get earrings, did you? >> Oh, that's cool. >> That is so cute. >> And a nice bag. >> Yeah, I like the bag. Those kids are amazing. >> They are. >> Oh, yeah. [snorts] Looks like a little corporation maneuver. >> It does. >> Okay. And we're into announcement. So you need to sit back
for this, too. Okay. So January 5th on the staff work day. There's no school. January 8th is the shine awards from 5:30 to 7:00 at Main Elementary. January 12th is a community chap superintendent from 1 to 2:00 p.m. at Panera at Fearful Commons Mall. 27:51 Fairfield Commons. January 19, Martin Luther King Day, no school. January 27th, community chat with Superintendent from 4 to 5, Panera at the Green at 49 Chestnut Street. January 27th, curriculum open book night from 5 to 7 at Koi Treybine Commons. February 9th, community chat with Superintendent 9 to 10:00 a.m. Dunkin Donuts on North Verfield Road. And we're to board comments. We're going to start Mrs. Hut. >> I don't have much. It's early on a Saturday. Just welcome to Mr. Boon. >> Glad to have you. >> Hey, Mr. Taylor.
>> Um, first off, I guess the u congratulations to you three for having made it through the the election process to get to here. Not always pleasant, but uh here we are. Uh looking forward for your your next four years. Uh so great start to the year. I'm going to guess it'll continue with where we left off, but it always is even in spite of that. Um, I think the kids and the teachers always look at it as a fresh start. You know, it's a new year, get to put a new number down, 2026, if I can remember that, which I never can. I don't write checks anymore, so I don't worry about [clears throat] it. But, uh, yeah, I'm looking forward to another great start. I know the sports teams have started up. Um,
always checking in on wrestling, trying to keep track of um, show choir. I know they've been pretty busy with that. They're always excellent, but all of our kids make make us look good and our community uh I think support us on that level more than ever because we are schools of excellence. And Miss Beth, you uh interactions with uh the public have been exceptional. So, uh, with that, here we go. Off to the races again. >> Mr. Boom. >> So, it's exciting. First, uh, first meeting. Um, you guys have all been great. You've been very welcoming. I really appreciate that. Paul, I enjoyed going around the the district with you. Um, got to meet a lot of faces, and I'm still struggling on the names, but I'm going to do my best there. U, but
I can understand why you call them bus surgeons because that was a really treat that was a treat to see that. Um, see today I know there's the Bulgaras Classic. Uh, it's a wrestling tournament at the high school. I think there's a hockey game as well. I was hoping to go to both of those today. Um, but yeah, I'm excited to start all this. >> And Mr. Morris. >> Okay. Merry Christmas and happy new year to everyone obviously. Um, like to welcome Nathan uh to the team. Um, going to be a great addition. I know in talking with you beforehand before the election, uh you definitely have kids first and that's that's the key. Uh so appreciate that. Uh congratulations also to uh Joanne reelected as president and Christa reelected as vice president. You're both
seasoned veterans. All right. So glad to have you continuing in that. Uh certainly want to uh I want to thank Joy uh because I'll tell you I'm a pretty um what's the word I'm looking for? Um pretty frugal individual. So I love it when I go through the financial report and I always I always immediately start and look at h how much investment income did we have last month and those numbers are significant. So keep up keep up the good work there. Defin definitely appreciate that. Um, Bobby, I'm gonna take Darren's two famous words that he says, and that's with regret. Because when he talks about a retirement, he always says, "We accept your resignation with a regret. We definitely hate to see you leave, and you've done a phenomenal job for us for many,
many years." So, thank you for that. Um, I'm going to echo Paul's thoughts, but turn it around a little bit because quite frankly, the administrative team that we have right here is is obviously second to none. And I'm not sure, everybody pretty much has enjoyed, you know, all the staff. They work hard. They've done a great job, but they've had the last couple weeks off. But the administrative team, and people don't recognize this, they're on call 24/7. There is no Christmas. There is no new year. All right? They're they're busy taking care of situations as they arise. Most of them are unfortunate, you know, over a break, etc., etc. All right. But they do a phenomenal job and they're making decisions that impact the community, the school district, and and kids. All right. And so,
thank you. Thank you for all that you do there. That's it. >> Okay. Well, [snorts] first, happy new year, everybody. and Danny, we're happy you're on the board. Congratulations. We're excited. Um, Bobby, you know, we're gonna miss you. I mean, Milford is so blessed to have you as their superintendent. We're regrettingly giving you to them, but you know, I'm excited for you and I can't wait to see the amazing things it's going to happen in Milford. They have no idea. They really don't. I'll have to call Myra and tell her, but I think she knows. Um, show choir. The snow the snow choir concert. got snowed out, which was interesting. >> But they did get to perform a week later and of course they were amazing. They really are. The Showquire Invitational is January 17th.
So that's coming up. That's going to be big. And so I've come up with a new title called Staff Corner Brag. Yeah, I'm always And yep, that's my new title. And today I am going to brag about one of us. I am gonna brag about Beth Seismore. Yeah. Then you just have to sit here and listen. So I need to tell you something. First of all, we have in the Beaver Creek News, we have a couple who graduated in 1953, celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary. Beaver Creek graduates. They now live in Florida. There they are. Bobby whom not Beth. I'm looking at Bobby and talking about um took this and you know kinds of that little acts of kindness go a big way. She found out where these people lived. Sent them there it is
little goodies from Beaver Creek and in the middle of those bracelets are their class rings. They sent Beth an email. I want to read you part of it. thanking her. And it says, "Dear Dr. Seismore, what a surprise when we received your package today. Gary and I can't get over the fact that you took your valuable time to put together all those momentos for us. You don't know how much we appreciate what you did." We called several of our neighbors to come see our display. They were also very impressed. It has been 72 years since we graduated. Unbelievable. We were last in the area two years ago for 70 70th class reunion. And the old school looks about the same as 72 years ago. Beautiful. And you know they're talking about Maine. My sister Linda
Weber Armstrong also graduated from Beaver as we all called it. in 1960 and just moved to Bethany Village in Centerville. She was also thrilled with seeing a picture of the items that I emailed to her. She and her husband Ron will be married 65 years in May. And she goes on to talk about all the people they're still in touch with and Beaver Creek. But she ends with again, Dr. Seismore, thank you so much for everything. See a copy of the attachment. Notice we have our class rings in the middle of the bracelets. The other attachment shows us holding a cake. That is the original 70-year-old bride and groom ornament. Her dress is a little yellow, but what the heck? Haha. It's 8:30 p.m. and the new year isn't far off. Gary and I wish
you the best. And she also has emailed Beth twice since then inviting her to stay with them in Florida. [laughter] I mean, this is so touching. Thank you, Beth, for reaching out to these people. This is what Denny means by the amazing staff we have in Beaver Creek. They go above and beyond what they need to do. We are so blessed with every administrator we have with our teachers. I can't thank you all enough. Thank you for doing that. Beth, we love you. You are amazing. And you are our first staff brad corner. Just came up with a new title. I like the bus surgeons. Okay. [laughter] I told that to my husband last night. He goes, "Yeah, okay." So, thank you so much. Thank you everybody for being here today. And who knows who's
going to be in the next staff bra corner. Just saying. It's like so um Oh, I need a motion and a second to adjourn the meeting. >> So move second. >> Happy New Year. >> Beth's looking for people in Hawaii now. [laughter] I have a big >> What about Italy? Try try Europe. >> Maybe these people down there know somebody. >> Yeah, exactly.
