Call this meeting to order. Beth, can you please call the role? >> Mrs. Gart, >> here. >> Mr. Gusay >> here. >> Mrs. Matney >> here. >> Mr. Oler >> here. >> And Miss Wosmith, >> present. Pledge of allegiance. I >> to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Okay, first on the agenda is minutes. Is there a motion to approve the two sets of minutes? >> So moved. >> Second. >> Wait, did I attend the first? >> Wait, did you go to those? >> I re send my movement because I don't think I don't think I was at the first. >> All right. Do we have a motion? >> Move to approve >> a
second. >> Second. >> John's got that. Okay. Um, any discussion hearing? None. Beth, please call the role. Mrs. Gart. >> Hi, >> Mr. Guousay. >> Hi, >> Mrs. Matney. >> Hi, >> Mr. Olinger. >> Hi. >> And Miss Wasma, >> abstain. >> Okay. Um, do you want to do the recognition first? Okay. We're going to do the recognition and hearing of the public. >> Okay. The reason that she's laughing is because she sees these chimes and they're not wrapped, nor is there any cute saying attached to it because I've just gone in to the closet and grab it. But the thought is still the same. >> I was. >> So, good evening everyone. Thank you all for being here tonight as we celebrate someone who truly embodies the heart and soul of Grand View Heights
Schools. They say that beyond every successful organization is a brilliant administrative assistant. But if you spent any time in our district over the last 13 years, you know that Haley Head is so much more than that. She is a pillar of our schools, a cornerstone of our community, and quite frankly, the person who keeps the rest of us on track, especially me. When it comes to communication, Haley is in a league of her own. In an increasingly digital world, she understands the lasting power of a beautifully crafted piece of print. If you ever marveled at the professionalism of our quality profiles, our community newsletters, or our financial perspectus, you are looking directly at Haley Head's talent. She has a gift for taking complex data and turning it into something beautiful, accessible, and meaningful to our
families and every community member. But her real genius isn't just on paper. It's how she connects with people. Haley is quite simply as good as anyone I've ever met when it comes to interacting with staff, our parents, and our community and our board. Every single day, she models what it means to be exceedingly polite, patient, deeply caring, and incredibly informative. No matter how busy the day is or how chaotic the office gets, Haley is always willing to go the extra mile. If a parent calls with a question, she doesn't give them a quick answer or get off the phone. She ensures that they feel heard, valued, and genuinely cared for. That kind of authenticity cannot be taught. 12 years ago is a long time. And when I look back 12 years together here, I know
you've worked here 13. When I look back on that journey that we've shared, Haley, the transformation of this district is quite frankly nothing short of remarkable. When Haley and I first started working together, things looked a little different. I still smile thinking about the days when every single application had to be meticulously typed out and submitted in hard copy. From those paperheavy days, we navigated the massive shift to our onetoone technology implement implementation. Together, we've tackled some of the biggest milestones in Grand View Heights recent history. We survived and thrived through the endless coordination of facility planning committees and financial planning committees. We stood side by side through the intense community meetings and logistical mountains of both the 2018 and 2024 bond levies. Through every late night meeting, every tight deadline, and every major district
pivot, Haley was right there. On a personal note, Haley, I want to thank you. Sorry. Thank you. I want to thank you for your unwavering collaboration, your fierce loyalty, and your steady support of me over the last 12 years. We haven't just been colleagues. You've been a true partner in every sense of the word, helping me navigate the joys of the job as well as the challenges of leading a school district which requires an incredible team. And having you by my side has made been an absolute blessing. We are going to miss you terribly, Haley. The central office just won't quite feel the same without you. Your warmth and your smile. But as you turn the page to your next chapter, please know that your legacy is woven into the fabric of Grand View Heights
Schools. Thank you for everything and I wish you the absolute best. any of you would like to say some words. You're welcome to. So >> that's going to be hard to follow. Andy, >> that's going to be really hard to follow. Uh Andy, thank you for such kind and heartfelt words for Haley. Thank you. Um and I'll keep this brief. I I maybe make just a couple points. I don't want to make your meeting long, but I'll keep it brief. Um two points. Um uh we we moved here in uh well, first let me quickly introduce there's a son Greg, his wife Morgan, and our daughter Kendall. We also have a a third child, our middle child, but he's in Greensboro, North Carolina, Austin. Um, but we moved to um the Columbus area in 1988.
Haley was seven and a half months pregnant with with Greg. And um you know, we Haley had had a bit of a career and and you know, the point here is we are so incredibly proud of of of what you've accomplished in your career. here. I mean, she spent some time with USA Today in the DC area, which is where we moved from. Uh, when she was probably like 16, she worked at the state house and or the Capitol building in in Austin, Texas, and the Austin American Statesman uh newspaper. Uh, but we moved here and we um um had the baby and we ended up having two other two more kids um within five years. We made the decision for her to stay home with the kids. So, in essence, we kind of put
our career on hold, so to speak. And um that all worked out fine. It was a little financially challenging at times, but it worked out really well. And eventually Haley decided, you know, once the kids got in well into the K through 12 um school years, uh decided she wanted to do something and and the opportunity, you're probably familiar with the Tri Village Mentor League. She headed that up for roughly 10 years and brought that program to an incredible place which where it stands today even to the point where she actually was one of the recipients of the Rotary Northwest women of the year award in 2005. So that says a lot for her her skills. And then you know that ran its course after about uh uh 10 years. And then Ed O'Reilly um
hired Haley to for this position at Grand View Heights Schools. And as Andy mentioned, uh Ed was only here for about a year and Andy stepped in. So Haley's been with with with Andy for 12 years, right? And uh 12 wonderful years. Um, so that's been uh, you know, uh, just just wonderful. And, uh, again, that all told is is how we're we're so incredibly proud of your your whole career. It's been, you know, really post kids. Um, she's had almost 25 years and and that and then you you tie in what she she did in u previous to that. The second point I want to make is um she has made some incredible friends here. Um just wonderful people. I hear about it a lot and her her friends are in this room. They
they are and there's a lot of friends who aren't in this room and friends mean a lot to her and when she finishes on July 6 um that stays with her. Um her friends are lifelong friends and you all will be that. Um I I can tell you that's from the bottom of my heart there's so much truth to that. You will remain close well connected friends with her. Um you'll you'll see her around. So um but thank you and thank you all for thank you for this opportunity you've given her. It's been a very meaningful experience for her. But um thank you I guess I have to say so >> at the very least. Thank you. >> How much have I cried in the last six months? Beth, Andy, >> Andy, little bit. >>
Yeah, I wore waterproof like you said tonight. Um, all happy tears. all tears of of great satisfaction and and joy and um just so thankful to be a part of this community during this time. When I was hired, I um I one of my pitches to sell myself was and I mentioned this earlier. I said to the former superintendent, Grand View is a great gift. It just needs some really good packaging. And that's kind of been the underlying thought in my brain the whole time. And that means talking to parents as long as they need to be talked to and helping people and um putting our best face forward in publications and in the community. And um I I I heck I may show up next month because I don't know how else to not
do the the second Wednesday of the month. Right. >> No meeting in July, Haley. No, no meeting in July. >> No meeting in July. >> Back in August, but we do need to announce a special meeting shortly. And y'all are so um being so kind to me. But what I am so excited about and what makes this all such even more joyful is um an joining the team at the board office. And if you don't know her yet, you will. You'll know her well and you will love her so much. and um she has that same affection and um professionalism and um Grand View for her role will be in great great hands. I'm sorry I don't mean to come back to you. And what I need from Mark is severe editing on the uh
on the tears. Um and if you know me well, you know I'll keep talking, but I'm going to do you a favor and stop talking. And I just can't thank you enough. I just can't thank you enough. And this is so wonderful and it makes me so excited to to move on to just know know the love. So, thank you. You have mine. You have my endorse. >> We need to get a picture next. >> Yes. Picture. >> Haley, we need a picture. >> Can we get a board picture, too? >> What? A board picture. Picture with the board. >> You're usually the picture taker. What's that? >> Normally, she's the picture wrangler. Here we're going. We're gonna >> picture. You're in the middle. >> Make sure you're in the middle. >> Who's the cat?
>> Maybe I don't believe >> I'm gay. >> It will for sure. >> We need to see it before we vote on you. >> Smile. Which one's which? >> Ready. One, two, three. >> Thank you. >> Can we get a board picture? I want Okay. Can we get a board picture with Haley? >> We want a picture of you. >> Yes. >> Over here again. >> Yeah. >> Wherever Haley tells us. >> Haley, come back this way. >> It's Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'll introduce you. >> I mean, at this point, don't d Andy. Let's just make it awkward. >> Haley, get in the middle. >> Okay. Now, how would I tell y'all to do this? >> Squeeze together. Pinch your cheeks and get uncomfortably close. >> It might be more direct. >> Might be
more direct. >> I was like, I don't know what you're doing. >> Yeah. >> How close are you? >> Not you. Uncomfortably close. It's close. >> All right. One, two, three. >> Thank you. >> Oh, before you walk away though, >> Haley. >> Oh, she's more pictures. >> Getting the babies. >> More pictures. >> I'm so happy to see her family in person. >> One more. Just follow directions. >> I'm out of it. >> You're in it. >> Just do what Haley says. It's fine. >> Haley, get in the middle. >> No, shoot. That was a firm no. >> Very cute. >> So cute. >> Very cute. I do would just add another story about you, Haley, because I know I've told you this before, but back when my oldest daughter, who's now going to
be a sophomore next year, when she was in kindergarten, I had to get fingerprinted because I was going to be volunteering in the schools um for winter recess activities. And um it was kind of intimidating as like a new younger parent here to come into the high school into the superintendent's office because I didn't know this guy yet. He's so intimidating. No. Um, and I came in and met you and I'd seen your name on things that get sent out by the district but didn't know you at all. And my fingerprints are really hard to get. And we had to do it so many times. And I just like enjoyed talking with you so much. And I remember coming home and being like that Haley head, she is just the sweetest person. She is so
you are like one of the most authentically warm people I know. >> You really are. You're going to be missed. And >> my story is like one of probably literally a thousand >> in this district because when you talk to somebody, you just I mean, you're just so genuine. >> She's a gift. >> You are. >> Um I'm surprised Dot isn't here right now. D I'm surprised Dot isn't here right now cuz Dot Dot yelled at me about how did I not tell her that Haley was retiring cuz she would. So I'm like when I see her I'm going to be like where were you? Yeah. >> Um, and it was to hearken I don't I'm not going to cry cuz I don't have feelings, but like to hearken everybody's here like it there's so
it's funny cuz it's true. It's there's so many people that like Dot was my dog laid down and took a nap cuz Dot was like she did this for the band and that for the band and it's little things that you don't think about because that's just who you are as a human and oh I'm going to feel it right now but like you've made this district better just by being you and there's oh god I I just said it um but it's >> you made our Yeah, I don't do this. Um, you got big shoes to fill because >> Just size six. But it's it's just like it's warm and >> they're actually not that big. My son will come to your office like I'll go talk to Haley. She's not scary. Neither are
you. But like I know you're not. And I'm going to stop talking because now I'm getting emotional. But >> you will be missed. >> I will miss you a lot. >> Yeah. >> And I'm so happy to see your family here in person because she talks about you guys a lot. >> I've seen pictures. I've seen pictures. hearing babies like >> I know. >> So, yeah, she's very proud of you all. >> I know as a board member, I know that, you know, we're only a small part of your day and your responsibilities, but the amount of care and and you're such a special person and we really appreciate you and you've made my time on the board so much easier than it would have been otherwise. And I truly appreciate that. >> Thank you.
>> He spoke. I had emotions. >> This just doesn't happen every day. >> Yeah. >> A long time. >> We go back a long time. Yeah. Same experience like trying to promote something I think through Stephvenson newsletter and we had to go to you and you were so easy to work with and gosh I don't even remember when we met. I just feel like I've known you for forever. So I don't can't even do the math. That's 12 years. So 13. Yeah. As long as I've been in this district. So thank you for everything. >> Yeah. >> I just say I Yeah. I first met you at Woodland's Tavern over a year ago. >> But it was a fiveminute introduction from my wife that turned into an hour conversation of just hanging out. So I
remember that vividly. >> Yeah. >> You were there too. >> Yeah. >> You will be missed. Yeah. Definitely better than you found it. That's a legacy. >> That's what we all >> Yeah, >> you nailed it. >> Thank you, Haley. I guess we have to move on in our board now with these little gifts right here. >> I know. >> Okay, we are going to move a little bit out of order on the agenda. No. >> Um, we are going to move up to recognize a few people that are here specially. Um, we are going to move under personnel 9A4E, administrative contract for Jeremy Ross, um, aka Mo Ross, the new Stevenson principal. Um, >> let's do Ann, too, since she's here. >> Oh, yes. And yeah, of course we'll do Ann, too. Where is
So, where is hers on here? I need to We will get that. Where is that on here? Number nine. >> Number nine. >> Number >> Where'd she go? >> Where'd you go? >> Seven. >> Look. Oh, you're already doing a good job. Thank you. >> It says 10 A4E and 10 A. Sorry. Yeah. 10 A7. >> Um, am I correct? We don't necessarily need to move to change that order. No, we can just >> take So, is there a motion? >> Do we have to do those two separately though? Probably. Or can we do them jointly? >> You can do them together. >> Together. Okay. Um, so is there a motion to approve those two items? >> So moved. >> Second. >> Any discussion? >> I would like to say a few words. One, uh,
first off, uh, Mo, uh, we, as you know, have an exceedingly thorough and comprehensive process in particular, uh, for hiring everyone. um but uh in particular for hiring the new principal. Uh very competitive candidate pool and you rose to the top. Uh we are so excited and feel so fortunate to have you on our team and in our family. Um as you can tell we love Grand View. Um it's a wonderful place. uh and we are excited to uh have you join our team but also to learn from you because you bring to bear 13 years of experience as an elementary principle. So uh look forward to working with you. uh and interestingly um we had applicants and I kept hearing her name and how wonderful she was and so I called her and I
said hey can we meet and let's have a little conversation and so we met and um I basically was trying to sell her the job the first meeting and I said look you don't have to respond I want you just to reflect and think about it and then we're going to meet And and then the second time we met, we met at Whole Foods and we chatted it up a little bit and um at that point I had declaratively decided that I definitely wanted her uh to join our central office team. Um and so Ann Davis board that's uh stand up and maybe give a little wave. And so uh if you >> if either of you would like to say a few words, you're welcome to. But there's no pressure or expectation either. Do
>> we need to use this? Do we need >> Yes, we should probably move it back up. Yeah. >> No, I just wanted to say and I won't take a lot of time. Uh, see, I was able to meet you a couple Fridays ago and congratulations cuz this right here is exactly what I was looking for. And uh I can feel it. I felt it. even though today we're here for the approval, but getting to know everybody and you and Ann um and everybody has just been amazing. So, I just wanted to say thank you. I promise you I'm going to work as hard as I can to make Grand View happy they chose me. I think I said that to Mr. Culp uh in a text. I said, "Hopefully a year from now, you'll
look back and say we absolutely made the right choice." So, that's my goal at this time. So, and I'm more than willing to talk answer any questions at any point if you want to. So, thank you. >> Thank you. >> Well, I just want to thank you guys for the opportunity, but I have some very large shoes to fill and they feel much larger than size six. They're probably most size, maybe bigger. But I am thrilled and excited and up for the challenge and I will my plan is to make Haley proud to carry on her legacy. A >> so >> excellent. >> And I'm excited to get to know you guys all better. >> Thank you for the opportunity. >> Thank you. Thank you. >> Thank you both. >> Yeah. >> Well, then I
suppose we should vote. >> Beth, can you call the role? >> Yeah. Mrs. Gart. Hi. >> Mr. Gusay. Hi. >> Mrs. Matney. Hi. >> Mr. Olinger. Hi. >> And Miss Bossman. >> Hi. Thank you guys. Welcome to uh well, you've already been in Gran View, but welcome to your roles. Welcome to Gran View. >> No pressure to stay. You're welcome to. >> Yes. Right. It's no pressure, but you may if you would like. >> You won't be allowed to leave later, so do it now. >> The door's locked in. >> One, we already hired you. You're good. See you. Thank you. >> Enjoy this beautiful night. Yeah. So, we're also going to move um under other 13A1 and two on the library since we've got some folks here. We won't make them stay till the
very bitter end. >> Always welcome at our meetings. >> Well, good evening. It's great to see everyone. Um first, Haley, congratulations. She has just done a spectacular job for all of us, I think. And she's always been such a great ambassador to the community. You know, every one of my new employees comes here for their background check, and they always talk about how welcoming >> she makes them feel, and they have a great conversation with her. So, >> it's just it goes beyond the school. It's the whole community has this feeling for her. So, thank you very much. We really appreciate it. And I'm excited because I'll get to see her at Music on the Lawn every Tuesday. So, >> she'll be dancing. >> Yeah. Um other items for you. Want to congratulate all of
you on a phenomenal school year. Uh we had some just excellent experiences with your students and your staff um and administrators. It was a really great year. We really value and appreciate the partnership and are very very appreciative of that. Um I have two items for you to consider uh tonight. The first is our tax budget that we do every year. Uh we're required to submit that uh to the county auditor through our taxing district which is you guys. So that is um before you for approval. And then secondly, we have two um appointments. We actually have a reappoint and then an appointment to our board for you to consider. The first one is a reappoint of Betsy Gambone who's currently on the board. Um she's an occupational therapist at Westerville Schools and has done
a phenomenal job on our board. >> Um and that will be for a four-year term. Legislatively, library board terms have changed, so they're only four years now instead of seven. And then the second request is an appointment uh of Carmine Russo to finish the remaining year of um Deb Cisinger's term. She's decided to retire and the board went through a pretty extensive interviewing process and had some really great candidates and um this is one they'd like to put forward for you to consider for appointment. Right. Um, is there a motion to approve these two items? >> So moved. >> Second. >> Any discussion or questions for Ryan? >> Okay. Hearing none. Can you call the role, please? >> Mrs. Garter. Hi. >> Mr. Gusay. >> Hi. >> Mrs. Matney. >> Hi. >> Mr. Olinger. Hi.
>> And Miss Wasman. >> Hi. >> Thank you very much. >> Thank you everybody. And we'll be here for your Stevenson >> building project. We're here all next year. We'll do whatever we can to help you get through next year. We know it's going to be busy. I got a sneaky suspicion your library is going to be busier. >> We're going to be busy. We're going to be busy, but we're looking forward to it and reach out if we can help you in any way. Okay. >> Oh, the library is always a great partner. Thank you. >> Thanks, Ryan. Thank you. >> Okay. >> And thank you for moving that to the >> Of course. Yeah. Um and I'm going to go back. I I don't think there's nobody here, right? But there's nobody to
speak before the board. No. >> Okay. Uh so so we're moving on back on to the superintendent report. >> So I don't have anything in hard copy. I just made some notes here. First I wanted to again welcome Ann to our team. We're super excited to um u you know begin our journey together. Uh and again congratulate Haley on 13 years of just awesomeness. Um so thank you for all you've done. Uh wanted to let you know that we had an awesome I thought wonderful groundbreaking. I think the student singer performer stole the show though. >> Uh but really nice event. Um this uh yesterday I filmed we filmed our latest version third hard hat update. Um and I need to share all three with the board. They haven't seen them. So help me remember
to do that tomorrow. Chris, uh the Stevenson Elementary, uh progress is tremendous. Basically, the rubble even is gone. If you haven't driven by it, please do so. Also, uh our modular campus is in full swing and we'll be sure and get you tours and uh try and get some tours more broadly. Wanted to just share a couple uh hires. Uh we're looking to hire uh Katie McUade as the next secretary at Stevenson. Um we're looking to hire Amy Maple uh as the next secretary at Larson Middle School to replace an who is the next uh administrative assistant at the central office. Uh and uh you met Mo, the new principal at Stevenson Elementary. Um, I think you all know also that Amy Good, a sitting kindergarten teacher, is taking a 0.5 reading intervention position next
year. And then we've also hired Lauren Wood as a.5is. Uh, those two.5 positions are replacing Hope McDonald who resigned. Um, and then in July, we're having a special board meeting whereby we look to hire uh a math teacher, a high school social studies teacher, and a first grade teacher. That's Thursday, July 9th, I think, at 8:15. Um, I also wanted to take uh turning the page on on uh some news that isn't as exciting. Uh Carlton Cecil was a longtime custodian and a wonderful person and you know he happened to work uh as part of his zone in our central office. So I got to see and chat him up daily and he really was just an awesome uh upbeat wonderful human. Uh we're going to miss him dearly. Uh and his passing came by
suddenly. You know, I know I speak for everyone in our Grand View family to say that uh really caught us all off guard. Uh and um you know, I know Jim and his team also in particular were uh pretty devastated by the suddenness of it, but wanted to mention that as well. Uh I I think it important to mention that the planning commission has approved the Oakland Park extension, the monopole, the moro signage, which is exciting. We're making progress. I feel like I've been to 30 planning commission meetings. Um, uh, we had a wonderful leadership retreat and I just want to give a heartfelt shout out to Mrs. Angela Olm who facilitated that and did an amazing job. It was really worthwhile and you just did an a great job keeping us on task, focused
and doing it in an engaging fun and um the outcome of which manifested in the 2627 updated draft CIP. So, thank you for that. And then not last but not least, we the summer newsletter drops. It should be hitting mailboxes if it hasn't already very very soon. So again, another example of Haley wonderful compilation of hard copy print to spotlight the great things happening in Graan View Heights. And that's it. >> Thank you, Andy. >> Thank you. >> Any other questions for Andy? >> Okay. Um, so moving on to construction, we have the core team committee report. Um, I I sure you go ahead and take the lead on this one. I I can't I was trying to think and I can't even remember what we talked about. >> I have notes. Okay, great. >>
From Eric Bodie, we're on time, on budget, on quality. >> Uh, no, everything is moving along swimmingly. You've you heard from Andy about the uh rubble at RLS. Um, it looks awesome. I can't wait to see um what we're going to be provide these kids. Um, but yeah, construction is a little ahead of schedule in terms of the demo work. Uh I think the couple things that we've discussed here is um the sidewalk we've approved between on Fair View between fifth and third. >> So that we're moving forward there. Um we've kind of tabled the bearing the overhead. I think we talked about that earlier. Um athletic complex north end baseball field fence. I think we're we nixed that. uh the synthetic turf for when we remove the modulars. I think we've tabled that for
now. I don't think the final decisions been made. Um but we do have pricing on that. And then Andy talked about the uh press box signage for Merllo. That's all approved, city approved, etc. I think that's it. Oh, one fun fact. We move kids back in the new building in 413 days. >> Ah, nice. >> Wow. >> Let's keep that on time. that report a little something. >> Yeah, >> that's good. I like that. >> That's nice. >> Yeah, >> that's exciting. I'm excited. >> 13. >> 413. >> That's not that many. >> We can do it. >> Really? That's not that many. >> That's great. >> Uh, okay. But we do have a right of way um to easement to approve. So, is there a motion to approve 7B1 right ofway encroachment easement? So
moved. >> Is there a second? Second. >> Okay. Any questions? >> Beth, can you call the role? >> Mrs. Gart. >> Hi. >> Mr. Gusay. >> Hi. >> Mrs. Matney. >> I. >> Mr. Olinger. >> Hi. >> Miss Wasman. >> Hi. >> Right. Next is uh business and finance. Uh Beth, you may present. >> Yes. So, I've got some uh brief financial highlights to share with you. Uh since our last meeting, we received our final tax settlement finally. Um so, that is great news. Our taxes uh came in at just about 1% over our budget. So, that's good news. Um our homestead and rollback, the state share of local property tax came in after the end of May. So, you will see that in um next month's report. Um, same with the Grand View Yard
and that revenue was about 5% over our our budget. So, um, uh, you know, great news in terms of our our revenue. Um, the interest for the fiscal year to date is $943,000 in our general fund. Um, so that's great. Uh, about two and a half or 2.8% over our budget through the end of May um, with a month left. So, um, all good news on the revenue side. Our expenditures are about a percent and a half under our budget. So, good news there as well. Um, investments remain virtually unchanged since last month. And then looking at the permanent improvement fund, our current unencumbered balance about 301,000. And the one new ongoing project you'll see on the list here is um technology uh firewalls and routers. Um and that's something that's been in our five-year
plan um that has been reviewed by the finance committee. >> Matt Malerie is really excited. >> Um and then uh finally the quick update on the construction fund. Uh so our month-to-ate interest was just about 50,000. Um, and that put us just over $2 million of interest earnings so far. >> Uh, bond proceed balance is about 65.2 million. Um, and it's going to start dropping quick now. >> Um, we've got a a little over a million dollar payment that's due um in the next few weeks. And and um so uh anyway, keeping that money invested as long as we can. And um and those investment rates are virtually unchanged since last month as well. And for better or worse, I don't think they are going. If anything, they're going to go. >> Right. Right. Um,
so that's all I've got. Uh, unless there's any questions. We're just wrapping up our fiscal year end now. And, >> um, >> just quick question for me because we talked about it briefly at the at our meeting, I think. >> The re reappraisal or the update, actually. The update is what we just are going through, right? >> Yeah. >> Uh, what was the what was the estimated increase for Gran View overall? Overall, I think it was 7 or 8%. Residential property was about 11%. Um, but that equates to about a 1% increase in taxes. So, again, just a quick reminder, the the increase in value does not mean that there's that much of an increase in taxes. Um, the only inflationary increase is on the inside millage. So that seven or eight% overall increase applies
only to those five mills out of our roughly 40ish mills of of total millage. Um so again the the overall tax revenue increase to the school district about 1% or just over 1%. Would you be able to um get like a figure that represents what percent inside millillage as a percentage of like what a raises as a percent of total tax revenue? >> It's about 1/8. Um so I I'll get you exact um it's Yeah. So our overall millillage is residential is about it's right around 40. Um and and that's five mills. The inside mill is five out of that 40ish. Uh the commercial is higher. So it's a lower percentage um in terms of commercial property. Those millid those mills are about um around 60ish mills >> but still five inside >> still five
inside. Yeah. The inside or this. Yep. Same. >> So yeah. So it was because I was reading something that was sent saying that for most districts it's between 10 and 20% and so that's that tracks. >> Yeah. >> So ours is um Yeah. In terms of uh >> of your >> the percentage. Yeah. >> Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yep. >> Um Yeah. Cuz I know I got the thing this week from auditor's office with your projected >> Yeah. >> And so I'm sure people are looking at that and seeing, you know, my taxes are going up, but just a reminder that they're not >> Do you have that newsletter? So that newsletter that Andy just shared um that that Haley just put the finishing touches on the back page of that um I included in that
article an explan. Oh yeah. Yeah. So, this uh news from the treasur's office uh Franklin County property update, I explained in here that while the the value percentage is, you know, um 11 for residential, it's only a little over a 1% increase in taxes. I know that's hard to um >> um you know, a lot of people just assume that it's whatever the increase in value is that their taxes are going up. Um the only caveat on that is that it can affect although we are going to get about a percent higher in tax revenue, Katie's uh taxes might change different than Emily's taxes. Um overall, um it it's about a 1%. Right. >> So it just depends on how your property increase compares to that average. >> Right. >> So any questions for Beth
in her presentation? Okay. Um, moving on to the finance committee report. >> We did just meet. Would you like to speak or would you like >> I'll give you the headlines. >> Um, we talked through the five-year forecast which was um Beth gave us some of the highlights. It is almost fiscal new year. So almost congratulations. >> Um but we're pretty close on that. We talked about the Grand View yard and where we're looking at five years from them. And then we also had a discussion on FTE. We looked over the last I want to say at least five years. >> Was it maybe seven or eight? >> Yeah. But it was it's >> back to 2019 >> because obviously I know something um that you know what we have added what we have changed
um miss. >> So that's in reference. So full-time employees and like at like staff basically staff. >> Yeah. It's like everyone she separates it by administrators, teaching positions, classified >> and all of it has a story like every increase has a story behind it or decrease >> and there's because um staff and staff and salary is so much of our budget. >> The I mean you always know me, I'm always in favor of hiring people, but um it's been thoughtfully executed. Those are the highlights, Emily. >> Yeah. No, I'll just add that on the five-year forecast piece because technically it's not required to be a fiveyear forecast anymore, they're calling it three years, but it's really four, right? So, kind of the way the verbiage is, but um and then they changed the dates on
what that you have to submit it to the department and but they don't really make sense when it comes to how your district operates. So Beth just simply is updating it um for our purposes also to see how things are changing um in a way that better relates to business practices here. So it was good additions to know where we stand. Um >> um kids club is back up. >> Yeah. >> Did the it had taken um before co kids club had always um and I think that is somewhere in here. >> It had been more solvent. CO took a hit and now it's coming back up to be is solvent the word I want to use. >> Yeah. Yeah. So our so the kids club fund balance got really really desperately low um in
the during the co years and um by the time the the program was back up and running it it's been a gradual process to build that balance back up a little bit. Uh, one thing you'll see on the agenda tonight is a recommendation to um to basically repay the general fund from the kids club fund for some overhead costs. We we this was something we did prior to their fund balance kind of taking that COVID hit and we feel that um it's in a position now that that we can resume doing that. Um and it helps cover some of the costs um in terms of pair of professionals that that the school pays for to to be at kids club, a nurse, um you know, custodial maintenance, um cleanup, um just another. >> So, we
have a board policy that that allows that and and so we're going to recommend that. >> Great. Great. >> That will help our general fund um as well, right? And Amy has done a phenomenal job of managing that kids club account. Amy Gardner, our our uh kids club uh director, has done a really really good job of managing that under um in collaboration with Angie >> um to get that into a really good financial position. So >> thank you. >> Yeah, thank you. >> Okay. Um so we move on to recommendations for approval under business and finance 8 C1 through. Um and this is where the kids club is nine here. So it's 1 through 11. Um 9 being the piece we just talked about. So is there a motion to approve those items? >>
So moved. >> Second. >> Okay. Um any discussion? >> Beth, can you call the role? >> Mrs. Gart. >> Hi. >> Mr. Gusay. >> Hi. >> Mrs. Matney. >> Hi. >> Mr. Oling. >> Hi. >> And Miss With. >> Hi. >> Okay. Under personnel 9A. Okay. So we have 1 through three. Four A through D and 4 F. and then five six and then 8 through 21 to complete all the personnel items. >> So move >> second. >> Um any discussion? >> I have one thing to note. There's a minor typo. It's my fault in uh number 14 uh the adjustment to the 230day uh pair professional work calendar. Mhm. >> The last line of that should say summer 2026 kids club. >> Oh, >> yep. That is >> 100%. That's on me. >> I
think it's the first time that's happened and I've been here for a minute. No, I I really think it is. >> I I do too. >> No, it's not. >> That's a very I'm going to note it. I'm going to say I believe it. >> Rachel caught it today when she was reviewing it. >> Is this I think this is year nine. Good for you. >> T-shirts made. >> I was there when she >> I was there when Beth call you made a mistake. >> Seriously, >> Haley, you your retirement? Not yet. >> No, make those t-shirts. >> No, no. This is Beth's call. >> It is my fault. It's my fault. >> I was there June 24th. >> All right, Beth, can you call the role, please? >> Yeah. Mrs. Gart, hi. >> Mr.
Guay. Hi. >> Mrs. Matney. Hi. >> Mr. Olinger. Hi. >> And Miss Wman. >> Hi. Is there a policy committee report? >> No. I was like, did we meet? >> Is there a teaching and learning committee report? >> No. >> Don't do it. >> Okay. Uh, so we do have a recommendation for approval. The handbook. So, >> second read. >> Is it a >> Do we do first? >> It says recommended for approval. >> Do we do first read? Second read. We'll >> vote on that, right? So, yeah, >> I I'm making that up. >> Yeah. >> 11B. Is there a motion to approve? So moved. >> Katie second. >> Is it the supply list reading? >> Um, any discussion, questions? >> Call the role. >> Mrs. Gart, >> hi. >> Mr. Gusay. >> Hi.
>> Mrs. Matney. >> Hi. >> Mr. Olinger. Hi. >> And Miss Wilson. >> Hi. >> Okay. We do have a field trip and some volunteers. Uh, 12 A1 and two. Is there a motion to approve those items? >> So moved. >> Second. Any discussion hearing? None. Beth, can you call the role? >> Mrs. Gart, hi. >> Mr. Gusay, hi. >> Mrs. Matney, >> hi. >> Mr. Olinger, hi. And Miss Wman. >> Hi. >> And the final item on our agenda is under other 133 since we already approved the library items. And this is um for the next we we voted on this initially last year for the first time and this will renew it for the coming year. >> Um >> so is there a motion to approve that item? >> So moved. >> Second.
There you go. >> Any discussion? Nope. >> Okay, Beth, can you call the role? >> Mrs. Gart, hi. >> Mr. Gusay, hi. >> Mrs. Matney, hi. >> Mr. Olinger, hi. >> And Miss Wman. >> Hi. >> Does anyone have any other business to bring before the board? >> Well, Miss Haley, >> absolutely. Well, Miss Haley, >> it's in the minutes. >> Y'll make sure it's documented. >> I don't even know what I said earlier. >> You can watch it. You can watch it all. >> You can watch it. You'll get residual cringe. >> Residual cringe. >> Love you, too. residual is mutual. >> And I mean the I mean >> you're allowed to retire because you're going to go grandma. >> Yes. >> I know. I need to make sure we're friends on Facebook so
that I can see babies. >> I'll be your friend, but I don't post anything. I'll be your baby. >> I want to be yours. So you can post baby pictures. >> Well, maybe if they'll let me. >> Yeah. I was like, you can send that. >> I just want a baby. >> There you go. Even better. That's You're talking. >> I want to be able to hold the baby. >> Uhhuh. >> Yes, Charlie. >> There you go. >> Yes. >> Please, please. And thank you. >> That'd be great. >> Thank you. >> No more tears. We're good. >> Okay. >> Bricks. >> Of course she did. Of course she did. >> Of course she did. >> So there's a brick and a sketch there for each one of you. And by the way, look at
that presentation. >> It is nice. >> I feel like the one on the far right might be just a centimeter off in terms of >> angle. >> Someone bumped it when they walked by. >> It was probably me. >> All right. >> Yeah. >> Can I move? >> They're a little dusty. >> It's authentic. >> Suggestion. If you get the brick, the dirt needs to go. >> Yes, it's authentic. >> I got I got two bricks the other day and the dirt's still in my car. It's going to be in my car for the next three years. is finding some dirt. >> They are. >> Really? >> Yeah. >> Haley. >> Well, I think about it. 1925 26. >> Those are real bricks. >> That's really old brick. >> Yeah, it is old brick. >>
That's legit. >> 100 years of blood, sweat, and tears from those kids. >> Absorb. Couple couple kicks. >> The sun sweat for sure. >> Haley, I do adore you, but I'm going to move to a chair. >> Yes. There is no no executive session. So, she said she adores you, but she's going to move to a journ. >> We can still talk, but let's wrap up this meeting. >> Is there a second? Second. >> Okay, Beth, can you call the role? >> Mrs. Gart, hi. >> Mr. Guousay, >> hi. >> Mrs. Matney, hi. >> Mr. Olinger, hi. >> And Miss Wasma, >> apologies for stepping on President Gert's toes, but I >> I move to Mhm.
