We have one sign up tonight. Mr. Michael Butis, would you come up? State your address and you have three minutes to address the board. >> My name is Michael Butus. Uh, I live at 2604 Bington Court here in Austin Town, 44515. Uh, I've lived here almost all

my life. I graduated from Austin Town, the real Austin Town Fitch in 1964. Uh, and I was a Navy veteran during the Vietnam War. Thank goodness I didn't go to Vietnam. I've had uh five grandchildren in the system. Two of them have gone through, three are still here. The reason I'm here today, I was quite disappointed, upset, whatever you want to call it, with the change you made in front of High School by removing the Veterans Memorial. That was a gift there. That That was beautiful. that let all the students especially the students coming in and out see that be aware of the military what goes on uh other people visiting the school you're coming in there you see that it was wellmaintained and it was just it was just a great thing I don't

know what caused that to be moved I don't know if there was any discussion with anybody if there was any real reason. But I think that was a really bad decision and especially bad from the standpoint of where it's located now on the north side of the building in a little turnaround that has now been fenced off and by temp with temporary steel fencing. You can't even, you know, if you said, "Well, the students could go out there and see it." bother that. Yeah, they could walk through the building, but it cuts it off from the public view. I I just don't understand why that was done. Do you guys say was there any discussion before any reason to move that? I mean, it just it doesn't make sense to me and I think it

was a real bad thing. I hope you hear more input from other community members along these same lines and maybe you can put it back over there where it should be. That's all I have to say. Thank you for your comments, Mr. Butis. I noticed that you did request a reply and you will have that reply within 48 hours, sir. Moving on to our principal's report. Kathy Dorbish, Austin Town Elementary School principal. >> Good evening everyone. Happening in our schools AES. Uh tonight is our fall fest in the bus lot between AES and AIS. 009get carpeted. All of our sophomore students took the preaccts on October 9th and got their scores back today. Uh the data from the preacct helps our students as well as our teachers. Finally, we want to wish all of our fall sports good luck. Some seasons have ended while others are moving on into postseason play. Thank you. >> Thank you. Mr. Markham, I want to congratulate online item two. We had uh five recent uh retirements. And if you

look at those names on there and you look at the years of service, I just want to congratulate them and wish them very well. and let them know that job well done and the impact of what they did uh for our kids, for our community is um a great representation of 115 years of experience if you count all their years of service. So, congratulations to them. And lastly, I have a big congratulations to a junior named John Czech at Fitch High School for achieving a perfect score on his ACT. He really makes us extremely proud. So, thank you, John. Nice job. >> Board comments. Mr. Sherwood, Miss >> M. >> I do. Uh the 17th annual Austin Town Fitch Athletic Hall of Fame was held October 10th and 11th. The festivities began with a Friday

evening gathering followed by the Erie McDow football game in Greenwood Falcon Stadium which we won. The Hall of Fame weekend concluded with the formal induction dinner with 12 individuals being inducted and two teams as well. This was a great evening for the current and past inductees. Congratulations. And I would be remiss if I did not mention as well as our superintendent did that John Czech, a senior at Fitch, earned a perfect score of 36 on the ACT, something achieved by less than 1% of test takers nationwide. It's a big deal. John not only excels in the classroom, but is a tuba player in the Fitch Symphonic Band and marching band. He plans to follow his passion for creative writing as a major upon graduation. Way to go, John. Best wishes for a promising future. Thank

you. >> Thank you. >> I would like to thank everybody for coming. It's nice to see faces in the crowd here month after month. Um I do want to piggyback on what the superintendent said about our retirees. Um, unfortunately, I am to the point in my life that, uh, there's at least one teacher that was here when I attended this school, uh, the school system. Um, the rest of them, I've been gone that long. But, it's beautiful to see when somebody puts over 20 years at the same job. I'm a firm believer in that. So, I thank those people for all their hard work and dedication. Um, to our student who got the ACT score, that's amazing. Congratulations to you. You deserve it. And I just want to wish everybody a safe and happy Halloween.

Uh and we'll see you next week. Thank you. Uh a motion to adjurnn. >> So move. Second. >> Mrs. Smack. >> Yes. >> Mr. Sherwood. >> Yes. >> Mr. Markham. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Mock. >> Yes. >> Mr. Porter. >> Yes.
