Item number three, audience community comments. I don't believe we have any today. All right. Item number four, treasurer recommendations, property tax complaint.
>> Yep. So, there's three properties if you guys had a chance to look at them uh that we're challenging. Um we'll we'll if approved, we'll send it over to the attorney, they'll file the complaints, and we'll they'll negotiate. Um do you guys have any questions on any of the three? The filing deadline's next Tuesday. Mhm. Yeah, the 31st. I I looked at it generally and I added if we're successful, uh about 50,000 in tax revenue. And that's sustainable from this point on. Typically, it's a no-brainer, but the courts have held that a sale isn't necessarily the market value, but it is compelling evidence. So, they could challenge this, and it would require that to do a commercial appraisal report, which may indicate that the sale price wasn't just real estate. It could include personal property,
it could include business earnings, it could be intangible values. So, it's not really It used to be the courts held that a sale was a sale. They changed their position. So, there is a chance that they could be successful in mitigating this increase. The amount of money probably not worth the effort, but we'll see. In in uh when you've done some in the past years, is it when they negotiate, is it normally like, "Hey, you both come in with a with a number, and then they'll meet you in Yeah, generally when I've helped negotiate these settlements, which usually they're a lot of driving these, but it's trying to find a compromise. It's not only your about market value was settling the case. And that's typically what would happen if it went to Columbus, or it
could even happen at this level, the county level. And we'll have our attorneys to help us with that. We can count on our counsel specifically for that. Okay. Do you have any other questions about the agreement? For Mike? No. Okay. So, Do they need to be voted on separately? No, she said she told us that we can do it all in one. Yeah. Well, I make a motion that we approve going forward with filing >> filing the ORC complaint. Second. Mr. Hammond? Yes. Mrs. Hartley? >> Yes. Mr. Merkins? >> Yes. Mrs. Hinners? Yes. Mr. Reger? Yes. Okay. Next meeting? Yeah, I was just going to point out, so typically we start at 6:00. Uh on that same date, we have a softball game that starts at 4:45. It is home. So, do we want to
push 6:30, 7:00, or is 6:00 cuz it's home and at 4:45 is doable? I'm looking at the fan. Yeah, I think you. Thank you. 7:00's perfect. I if they're an hour and 15 minutes sometimes doesn't get it done. Thank you. That should be it though, because usually by like end of May, Yeah, May would be if we're in the playoffs, and they haven't released that schedule yet. Right. Yep. Okay. Did you get anything else? All right. Meeting adjourned. Motion to adjourn. So moved. Second. Mr. Reger? Yes. Mr. Merkins? Yes. Mr. Hammond? Yes. Mrs. Hinners? Yes. Mrs. Hartley? Yes. All right. Meeting adjourned.
