Is there not a cause? shouts a frustrated young man over the sound of trembling armor. Who is this mouthy enemy that shames us? Goliath lost
his head that day figuratively and literally as David led an Israelite army to victory. 1 Samuel 17. King David contended that Israel was a nation because of who God is. Our founding fathers and mothers contended that America is a nation because of who God is. For 250 years, many have contended and shed blood for that same belief. I will not let their blood dry on my hands. Maui Goliaths today insist that Christianity has no place in the public square. The public square refers to those areas of influence in American society such as our families, churches, government, education, business, the media, arts and entertainment. They insist that the separation of church and state is constitutional. No, that verbiage was extracted from a letter by Thomas Jefferson to pastors in Connecticut concerned about a religion established by
the government. Here's an excerpt from that letter dated January 1, 1802 and sent to the Danbury Baptist Association. quote, "The American people declared that their legislature should, and here is where he quotes uh the first amendment of our constitution, make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." End quote. Thus, building a separation between church and state. adhering to this expression of the supreme will of the nation to restore to man all his natural rights convinced he has no natural right in opposition to his social duties and Jefferson this is to keep the government out of our churches not keep the church out of our government our social duties affect the public square and are framed and encouraged by our belief in God his word and the sacrifice of Jesus
Christ. Therefore, the Supreme Court overturned the Lemon Law, Lemon versus Curtsman, as unconstitutional. We have a cause. Make God, the Bible, and prayer central in our educational foundation. Put the Ten Commandments back into our schools without shame and not on a back lot. Thank you and be blessed. >> Thank you, Mr. Pond. >> Courtney, do we have anyone else? Okay. All right. Mr. Superintendent Bolan, you have the floor. >> Okay. I'll make this quick. Believe it or not, Jackie, um, today was the last day for our students and staff. Um, we want to be giving a big shout out to a number of people who made this year a very, very successful year. First like to thank the board for their guidance this year. We want to definitely point out to departments we have food
service. We have transportation. We have maintenance, special education, our police department. We had teachers and aids, our staff throughout the building, throughout the district made this an unbelievable year. And I can't say or or I can't uh miss the opportunity to thank Mrs. Lips and Mr. Stout who are my right hands. Got two right hands there uh who do an outstanding job and uh keep me um I don't know keep me on in line, but I think Courtney does that the most. So Courtney is the person behind the curtain. Don't pay attention to the person behind the curtain. That's Courtney. Uh I can't go without thanking her for what she's done uh for this school year and all of our all of our staff throughout are committed each morning to get up, come to school
and offer the best educational opportunities in a caring, loving fashion to our students because they are our family's most important resource. Our children are their most important. They are also ours. So together we have an opportunity uh to be enriched by their talents and their progress. And we're excited about their futures because they'll be paying our social security sometime in the in the future. We hope. We definitely hope. But a big big thank you to the students and the families. So, I think I've touched on all the groups that have done a fantastic job to make this a great school year. It's just another day for me. So, >> and speak now. >> Speaking of retirees, uh my dad reminds me every year they have a retiree breakfast at the high school. Tomorrow morning. Tomorrow morning. You'll be there. >> Yeah, because I'm retired. Okay. Uh I do want to thank as being a teacher, former teacher, the people that I think people forget sometimes is the secretaries, the custodians and
the food service special ed. Uh all of those we need those people and we could the school couldn't run without the secretaries, believe me, because they're the ones that control a lot of everything. So, and transportation custodians are vital. I've seen that. very much so in my years of teaching. So, thanks to all of them. We had a great year. Let's make next year better. >> All right. >> Do I have a motion to adjourn? >> I'll make a motion. >> All right. >> Second. >> We have a motion and a second. All in favor of adjourning. Adjourning. Adjournment. Leaving. going home. >> Go have some refreshments back here in the back. >> Thank you all.
