We do not. >> So, Mrs. Lips, I'll hand it over to you. >> Good evening, everyone. In the spring of 2022, Metropolitan District

announced it partnership Arkansas. Tonight I have the pleasure to introduce. I wanted to briefly recognize one of the members of the leadership team from the high school who is also a member of Habitat's board. The leadership team at the high school comprises half juniors, half seniors, half boys, half girls, and one of the student members always sits out in the actual Habitat. Uh, real quick, we finished up the fourth bill. Um, I wanted to let everyone know that this is a unique program. There's no one else in the country that does this. We not only involve the high school students building, but it's all all opportunities for MSD Marksville. We had um lunches provided by two of the elementary schools, lunch by Bell Academy, lunch by Wooden, we had lunch by the school board, which

was very nice as well. And your hills uh who has some students, their culinary arts students provide the for our celebration banquet. In addition to that, the Brooklyn STEM students participated in using the blueprints in the drawings to learn about elevations and they did the celebration banquet. I won't say much else gets involved. We always have a student every year who puts together videos. So the video you will see was done entirely by we avoid and help teacher. Um, and I think the video will speak for itself. >> At Habitat for Humanity, a home is built with something stronger than bricks or boards. It's built with community. When people come together with purpose, hope turns into walls, dreams become doorways, and families gain a place to call a home. And that spirit of community doesn't

just happen on its own. It's built by the people who show up. In early September, the football team stepped off the field and onto the build site to begin on the floor box. Two Habitat board members also took a crew to bring back wall panels. All their hard work set the tone for what came next. A week later, student council and NHS members arrived on site, ready to keep the momentum going. Together, they positioned all the exterior walls and most of the interior ones, working quickly and carefully as they raced against the approaching rain. With the wall standing strong, it was time for the next crew to step in. Just a week later, coming off of an impressive win against Franklin, the boys soccer team showed up with the energy to match their momentum on

the field. They made key modifications to the walls, finished the exterior sheathing, installed the top plates, and ultimately lifted the first set of roof trusses into position. With the first trusses in place, the build was ready for its next wave of volunteers. The following week, the cheerleaders stepped onto the site with the same spirit and focus they bring into every performance. They cut out window openings, secured roof truss hurricane ties, got started on the roof decking, and installed the house wrap. The next group to step onto the site was made up of the girls volleyball and basketball teams. They spent the day making major progress, completing the roof decking, building the front porch supports, and putting the porch roof trusses into place. By the end of the day, they had also installed the gutter boards,

helping move the project forward. The following week, a group of Martinsville alumni returned to the site, joined by two current students to keep the build moving forward. In later weeks, student council and NHS members also pitched in, working on sighting, installing windows, and putting up sophets. Each group helping the house get closer to completion. Over the course of several weeks, different groups helped move the build forward. First, the girls soccer and golf teams along with the foreign exchange student worked on finishing the sophets, continued installing siding, and even got started on the wood deck. The following week, the band and orchestra took on similar tasks, installing sighting, painting trim, and helping with the deck, all while braving colder weather. Afterwards, the cross country team stepped in to keep the momentum going, contributing their energy to

sighting, sophets, and deck work as the house neared completion. Another group of students joined the project, focusing on lifting and working with lumber, as well as painting the porch post and doors. Their efforts helped keep the house moving closer to completion, adding both structure and color to the home. After student volunteer groups completed their portion of the project, Habitat for Humanity staff and volunteers continued the work to finalize the home. They focused on completing important details throughout the house, ensuring everything was finished and ready for a family to move in and start their new life. I would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the adult staff and volunteers who were present throughout the many months of this project. Their ongoing support, patience, and guidance played a vital role in its success. By

working alongside the students, they not only helped build a home, but also provided meaningful learning experiences, teaching valuable skills, responsibility, and the importance of teamwork and service to others. Thanks to the help of local companies and families, all builders were provided with nutritious foods to keep them pushing during their work. That support helped sustain long hours on site, reminding volunteers that the community was behind every step of the way. It's another example of how collective effort turns generosity into lasting impact. Going back before the walls were closed in, some of the builders took a moment to leave something special behind. Writing on the framing were Bible verses, prayers, and words of encouragement. Messages meant not to be seen, but to be felt. Though these words are now hidden behind drywall, they remain part of the

home's foundation, offering comfort, hope, and love woven into the structure itself. Those messages reflect the heart behind this build. They remind us that this home was created not only with the hands and tools, but with faith, kindness, and care for the family who will live here. Long after the walls were finished, those unseen words will stand as a lasting reminder that this house was built with intention, compassion, and a belief in something greater than ourselves. And while the work on the house is finished, the impact will last far beyond the final coat of paint. This home stands as a reminder of what's possible when a community comes together. Students, alumni, educators, volunteers, and neighbors, each giving their time to build something bigger than themselves. For Alina Dent and her daughter and son, this is the

home they will soon walk in together. It's more than a house. It's a fresh start, a place of stability, and a foundation for the future. And for everyone who built it, this home stands as proof that service, teamwork, and compassion truly has the power to change lives. At the heart of this project was kindness. Kindness showed up in every shared tool, every helping hand, and every moment someone chose to step in and support another. It reminded us that building a home isn't just about construction. It's about care, respect, and believing that everyone deserves a place to feel safe and supported. When kindness leads the way, communities grow stronger, hope becomes tangible, and lasting change is built, one home and one act of service at a time. For Habitat for Humanity, I'm Mia Boyd. Okay. The
