M's on now. >> Okay. Tonight we have a special guest for our flag salute. Pretty special little guy. Mainly because I taught his dad. >> There you go. >> Landon, you want to come up? You want to tell us a little bit about yourself? >> My name is Landon Go. I am from Barnes Elementary. My favorite thing about school is probably my friends. basketball. >> My favorite subject is math. >> Good. >> Do you have anybody here with you tonight? >> Yes, I have my dad and my mom and I have my little brother. >> My sister. See, I
told you come back. >> Okay. Well, let's get to it then. >> Please stand and join me in the pledge of allegiance. >> Salute. Pledge. >> I pledge algiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the for it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> Please, please join me in the Oklahoma flag. >> Oh yeah, that >> salute. Good job. Okay. Item two. I need a motion to approve items A through E on the consent agenda. >> Move to approve. >> Second. >> Okay. Let's just Are you follow? >> Okay, let's call the vote. Miss Schultz, >> I. >> Mr. Daniel, Dr. Daniels, >> I. >> Miss Grant, >> I. >> Dr. Kirk, >> I. >> The chair votes I. >> Item three, we have
recognitions. Carl football. >> Good evening, Miss Sanders, Dr. Coba, members of the board. It gives me great pleasure at this time to introduce um coach Mike Dunn as he has just completed his fifth season as our head coach at Carl Alabbert High School. Um after another successful season, he was honored following the state championship game with the coach's achievement award. >> Excellent. His overall head coaching record is now 91 and 23 with a record of 64 and five in his five years at Carl Albert High School. This is coach Dunn's fourth season in a row winning the coach's achievement award. And before he comes up to talk about the players and the accomplishments. In addition, Carl Albert High School is honored to congratulate Coach Dunn for being selected as the NFHS section six coach of
the year. The NFHS receives nominations from its member state associations which often work with the state coaches association in their respective state. Coach Dunn advanced through the sectional process and was selected to represent section six section six which includes Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, and Arkansas as the 2425 section section 6 football coach of the year. Coach Dunn will now continue through the selection process where he could be eligible to be selected as the national coach of the year. >> Coach, [applause] excellent. >> And that's the acronym for the National Federation of High Schools. >> Maybe they'll let you go to the Super Bowl. You know how you see those guys? I hope they do a year. >> Yeah, you should. >> I'll do it. I'll take you. Yeah, you got your make false promises.
>> You're right. Dr. >> Don't make false promises now. >> Oh, y'all made me blush. All right. >> But anyway, we are very proud of you. Thank you. I appreciate >> Carl Albert. >> Well, [applause] obviously it's I don't care what any coach tells you. It's about it's about your players. And so, we're lucky and I'm glad to be able to talk about these guys today. >> Okay. I forgot >> also mention that your principal Dr. Kurt. >> Yep, >> that's right. [applause] >> Absolutely. She can take credit for it. I promise you. >> Thank you. Uh, President Stanford, Dr. Kyle, members of the board. First, uh, thank you for allowing us uh, the opportunity to bring the the 2020 2025 Carl Albert Titan football team uh, here tonight to the board meeting to recognize
uh, a phenomenal group of kids. Um, obviously without all of your support, none of it would be possible. Um, and that goes for everybody that's involved with with uh what it takes to to put together a school, to put together a program, um, to put together a district. Uh, it's a big job for everybody, and it does take everybody to to raise a team, raise a child. Um, so last year's team, um, last year's season was a record-breaking season in its own right. this year's team. Um I think about a week after we won last year's state championship, they were ready to get to work. They were uh they were ready to start working on their own uh piece of history. Um and what you see today is uh is just a um example of
that of that history. Uh just a small group. I mean, we've got about 60 guys, but um you know, whenever they set out to to set that history, this was about a year ago from today um really is when we really got started on it. And these guys put in a ton of work to get to where to where we are. Um a lot of people just get to see the tip of the iceberg, which just the success, but the things that these guys do behind closed doors um in the dark, the things that they do when nobody's watching is just unbelievable. um they're hard workers are people that we're all going to be able to be proud of one day whenever they graduate out of our out of our school. And uh I think
that's first and foremost what we're all about as a as a program about as as a district. And so um I'll tell you just real quickly uh I'll give you some stats by the numbers from the 2025 football team. So uh for the third year in a row they were 14-0. Uh, also for the for the I think the ninth year in a row, we were district champs again. It was our fourth straight state championship, uh, eight of the last nine. This senior class, and there's a few here today, but this senior class 54-2 in their four years >> at Carl Albert High School. >> Unbelievable. >> They're currently, we're riding a 53game winning streak, which is the second longest in the history of Oklahoma High School 11man football. And then I think uh what
these guys what I didn't say a while ago when we started talking about records and things that they wanted to do and goals for the for this season, they talked about being greedy. And last year we were able to tie the state record for for state championships uh in Oklahoma with 19 uh football state championships. And so they started talking about want to stand alone on that. And so this year we were able to make that happen, win our 20th state championship, which is the most in Oklahoma high school [applause] history. >> So that is your 2025 Carl Albert football team. >> Excellent. Good job. [applause] >> If if there's parents here tonight, parents, uh, if you would just stand up, >> let us recognize you as well. I see my own parents, >> Harry
and Kathy back there. >> Good job. [applause] >> Thank you very much. >> Thank you. >> I I also want to say this, guys. I believe, and I'm not being greedy, but I believe that only two people in this room have attended all 20 state championship football games. All 20. I know that I am one. >> Miss Gogggins >> and Mrs. Gogggins is the other cuz she was a student then [applause] >> in basketball. >> Yeah. >> Hey, can we get a picture with that gold ball? [laughter] >> Knock herself out. >> [snorts] >> Good job. Congratulations, guys. [applause] >> Great job, guys. >> Congratulations. >> Thank you so much. I'm President Stand Rich, Dr. Cob, members of the board. Um, at this time, it gives me great pleasure to introduce Coach Danielle Sutton. She's
our Carliver High School Palm coach and she has she is just in her sixth year of coaching Palm being a head coach at at Carl Aber High School in which she has just completed a three peak Jazz title and she has four state titles in just six years. Excellent. Excellent. [applause] Excellent. >> Thank you ladies and gentlemen of the board. Um this is my 5A state Jazz state champion team. We have senior Kira Boyd, sophomore Lexi Farmer, sophomore Gentry Little, junior Macy Hayes, sophomore Mey Mockabe, sophomore Asia Booker, junior Leah Lever, freshman Berkeley Adams, senior Melanie Summers, sorry. [laughter] Um, freshman Emily Loren, freshman Camry Rooney, freshman Carrian Burke, and senior Ashlin Belt. [applause] >> I am We also at state had a soloist received ninth out of over 80 dancers and that was Gentry
Little. >> So, that was another very exciting thing. And then in about a month and a half, we go to nationals. So, very exciting. Thank you so much. >> Excellent. Excellent. And if I have any parents, I want to thank you guys so much. Stand up. All of our parents, family members. >> Why are all of these [applause] >> these are all of our amazing parents who do everything for them. So, thank you so much for having us. >> Do it without parents. >> No, they're the backbone of these girls. That's for sure. >> Thank you. >> Congratulations. >> Scooty and girls. I mean the coach again tippy toe [laughter] tippy toe. Thank you so much. >> Okay, we've got Miss Foster Midale Technology Center. >> Great. Thank you, President Stand, Dr. Cobb, members of
the board. Very excited to honor one of our cyber security students. But I'm going to introduce Miss Sandy Thiel, our cyber security instructor. >> [snorts] >> Hi, President Sandridge, Dr. Cobb, and members of the board. I'm really excited to introduce senior Burch Baker from Carl Albert. I nominated him to be in recognized at National Cyber Signing Day and he was one of less than a dozen students recognized in Nashville, Tennessee last month. >> [applause] >> Yes, my parents are here. My mom's here. >> Let's see them. [laughter] >> Miss Allison Baker. >> All right. >> What did it entail? Just briefly. Just share that with us. >> So, they had a committee of I think of around of a few industry professionals. I had to send in my cyber security accolades, my volunteer hours, and
uh my involvement with my my school, my high school. So, and they chose me. >> Amazing. >> What are some of your accolades? What have you won? >> Oh, no. Okay. >> Yeah. >> Um >> his resume top three. Okay. [laughter] >> I say I've gotten a national finalist for Cyber Patriot. That's out of 5,000 teams and only 12 go. And that's with City CC. We have Skills USA national finalist and that's out of the Oklahoma. So you have to beat Oklahoma first and then go to nationals. And then we have BPA national finalist. >> Great job. >> There's a great school. >> There's also one south. >> There's a better one south. >> There's [laughter] one south. Okay. There's one south. >> They're only better at football. >> Congratulations. Good job. >> Softball. Okay,
>> we should just have a chair up here for you. >> I plan to attend the US Air Force and Cass Academy. [applause] That's actually probably a better school still. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Schools, Miss Foundation. Here she comes. >> Good evening, President Stannage, Dr. C, members of the board. I'm really excited to let you guys know that back in December, we awarded 22 grants at 16 different sites, equaling right at $29,000. Tonight, I'd really like highlight those teachers because they went above and beyond. All of our teachers do, but these teachers took extra time and extra effort to improve situations for their students. And I'm really excited about the impact that these grants are going to have on our student body. So, any of my teacher grant winners that are here, I'm going to
make you come up front. [applause] >> [applause] >> All the short ones in front. >> Good job, guys. congratulations. [applause] >> Um, I'd just like to quickly say that we could not do this without the support of our community and with our donations. Without those donations, we we can't do what we do. So, thank you to everybody that supports the foundation and thank you to our board members. >> Thank you for Thank you. You did an awesome job. Thank you. >> Thank you for supporting teachers. >> Okay. 4 A. We have no public participation. We're going to go right to 4B. Dr. >> All right. So hopefully get the report up here on the screen pretty soon. >> Apparently it's only going to be on the screen behind. >> I don't know what >> so.
Well, this is this will be awkward. >> All right. >> Yeah, but the microphone's here and I got to face there to see it because the other screens aren't on. All right. Uh it's schoolboard recognition month. So, thank you all for your unpaid volunteer service to our community. >> Congratulations. Well, it's what it is. >> It is. I mean, >> that sounds >> it's a big deal that you run for school board, but it's a thankless job. It is a job that has no pay. And so, you got a succulent. >> Wait, no. [laughter] >> I'll deal with it. No legislation. >> I just I just think I I think it's a remarkable thing that you volunteer to do what you do. Yes. >> And I gota I'm gonna have to pull this up in
front of me because I It's really awkward to >> while you Well, I mean I've got to have a microphone. >> Yeah. >> Well, I can't do that. >> No. >> So, I've got to >> I love succulents. [laughter] >> We do want to thank y'all for all the gifts and cards. I mean, we do really [applause] appreciate you guys >> for the cards. >> It's all about the kiddos. [clears throat] The teachers and the kiddos. and all of you that stay in the field. >> All right. Congratulations to the Carl Albert High School boys basketball team for winning the Lincoln Christian Tournament. >> Congratulations to the Dell City High School girls basketball team for winning the Kico Phillips Arvest Invitational. Congrat Congratulations to Dmitri Dmitri Kaiser from Del City High School who won his
weight class at the Gary Invitational and the Allen Long Sportsmanship Award. >> That is a tough >> Oh, Gary is tough. Gary's tough. >> The Carl Albert Special Olympics and their unified partners played and competed in bowling, unified basketball, and basketball skills this past weekend. The unified basketball team earned second place in a hard-fought matchup. Another win for Del City High School girls basketball, this time in the Joe Lawson Memorial Invitational Tournament. Two wins in tournaments. It bodess well for the postseason, right? Congratulations to the Carl Albert Middle School cheer for winning first place in overall grand champion. >> Cheer. >> Congratulations to Carl Albert Middle School Palm for winning first in jazz, hiphop, and mix. overall high point in all three dances as well as crowd-pleaser. >> Good job. >> Congratulations to Carl Albert
High School Palm for winning the 2025 Jazz State Championship. Uh we had our monthly uh superintendent advisory board meeting uh last month and had a holiday celebration along with it. Oh, it's up on the screen now. Just needed Aaron to show up. >> That's the You're the magic man. >> Schwarz Elementary and Del City Elementary hosted visiting author Justin Cologne. His book, The Quacken, is featured on the Oklahoma Redbud readaloud list for 2025 2026. Last Monday, we unveiled the completely renovated Dell City High School library. >> Beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful. [applause] Shout out to Stacy Berer and Candy Perkins because they did a lot of hard work along with it. >> Our maintenance department and their entire team were fantastic and uh Jacqueline, you were very patient with us as we as I say us, but
as as the money was being spent, you were very patient, but you also knew it was needed because I mean this the space was down to the studs because there had been so much water damage over the years. So, I'm glad to have that done. It is absolutely gorgeous in there and over 200 books were checked out in the first week. >> Great. >> Our local law enforcement agencies held shop at the cop events supporting our families for the holidays. Last week we had our legislative breakfast and were able to talk about some of the goals we have and listen to our legislative delegation talk about some of the things that they see uh on the horizon for this upcoming session. Congratulations to Mrs. Hollingsworth from Soldier Creek Elementary who was nominated to receive the
We Love Teachers Award from Arvest Bank. Uh the Friday before winter break, we went around the district and named our five finalists for district teacher of the year and we'll be celebrating them and naming a winner coming up uh next month. We also um announced I think last week our adjunct teachers of the year from different sites. Congratulations to them. That is all I have. >> Good job. >> Thank you Dr. >> You're welcome. >> And now we have 4C academic accolades. Dr. Broyals, >> President Standers, members of the board, and Dr. Cobb. uh two years ago uh these two schools came and presented to you uh the academics and their buildings and the things that were going on. And the next uh speaker I'm going to bring up is Miss Patrice Tucker. She is
the principal of Pleasant Hills. And when she gave her presentation two years ago, she presented everything, the good, the bad, everything. And one question Dr. Daniel asked was, "How are we going to fix it?" And so Miss Tucker is here today. [laughter] >> That's okay. >> It's she wants to present to you guys to show you how we cursed this and how she >> because hasn't she gone from like a >> blood she's gonna tell >> don't steal my thunder. >> You ready to say you remember that >> Mrs. Stand Dr. Cobb and members of the board. Yeah, I know you do. I'm gonna give the clicker over to my um helper here because they told me to um not speak too long and you know um I'm not going to do that anyway because
Mike Tomlin and the Steelers are playing. [laughter] >> That's right. >> Tonight. So I won't be before you long. Okay. All right. All right. Pleasant Hill Elementary. We are the Cardinals. And um I entitled our presentation, it's all about growth. And this is a multi-year improvement um driven by intentional systems, instructional focus, and collective responsibility. I bet you hit the other button. >> All right. >> Don't worry. We had issues during practice. Even Dr. P did. All right. [laughter] >> Excuse me. That'll wake you up. >> He didn't have his jacket on then. Our uh purpose for our work was continuous improvement and we have gone from um an F to a C. [applause] Yes. and um so thankful. Um it is due to consistent focus on tier one instructional strategies and systems and practices
to sustain and build growth. And I want to highlight my two teachers that are here. They were recognized tonight for being grant winners. And um we can't do this without our teachers and our students and our families. Um Miss Morris, will you stand up and tell them how much money you have received in grants over the past three or four years? >> It's been a lot. >> All right. >> Over 20,000. Yes. and she and her music program is fantastic. The instruments are wonderful. Uh Mrs. McCabe is now in preK and she is always writing grants as well and donors choose. How much do you think you have raised for us? >> Five or six thousand. [applause] So wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. All right. Um just a few high points from um everything that we've been
doing, the work that we're doing. Uh goal setting and ownership of learning has been um one of our main focuses. And as you see there, all of the bullet points are there for you. But I do want to highlight that all of those bills motivation, self-reflection, and accountability. All right. The next one is explicit and targeted instruction which we follow our district um instructional model which is the I do we do you do lesson structure um modeling and thinking and think alouds have been key to our success as well as frequent checks for understanding and corrective feedback which reduces learning gaps and supports all of our learners. All right, our next one is differentiated instruction and targeted instruction which also encompasses our RTI program which is our soaring cardinals and all of these things the
flexible grouping skills based small groups um enrichment opportunities for our advanced learners. We want to meet our students where they are and accelerate that growth. Formative assessment and progress monitoring. We've used exit tickets, quick checks for quick quizzes and checks for understanding, weekly and bi-weekly data reviews, doing that in our PLC's. And also making adjustments based on trends and not just scores, trends that we see within our students and kiddos throughout the classes, which ensures that instruction is responsive and effective. our high quality practices and engagement. Making sure that we have purposeful independent practice, not just busy work. Um, you know, I'm famous for saying we do not have free time at Pleasant Hill. We have PATs, preferred activity time. They can do a preferred activity skills base, but we do not have free time.
and then collaborative learning structures, Kagan, things of that nature that several of um our campuses do. And then success criteria. I'm very big on success criteria. The students have to know what mastery looks like. Mastery should not be a mystery. Okay? and our new math curriculum. I was so happy that we had adopted that because it had success criteria already built in when we had been writing our own. Next, we have feedback that moves learning forward which is specific and actionable and then once again timely feedback tied to the learning targets. It's just not arbitrary. And then peer and selfassessment which can also be done through the success criteria which tells them in order to be successful I need to do A B C and D and if I'm able to do that then I
know that I've done the job and that I've met my target. the intervention and enrichment systems. Of course, we've done RTI, that is a um district initiative that of course we follow and then skills-based intervention blocks, progress monitoring to in to adjust intensity and also enrichment projects tied to standards which prevents learning loss and accelerates growth. Next, we have worked hard on our social emotional learning for our kiddos just so that they know that we know that it's important for them to feel successful. So, they're, you know, you have to meet them where they are and know give them the tools that they need to be successful. Several things that we have instituted are things like calming corners and every classroom has a calming corner as well as the principal's office. I did not have
one at first but former counselor Samuels who is now assistant principal Samuels instructed me that I was supposed to have common corner in the principal's office as well. So I do have that now. So I do listen and follow directions. Dr. girls also. Um, then we have strong >> where's she at? There she is. Strong teacher and student relationships as well as a safe inclusive learning environment. Um, family and community very big on family and community sharing our goals with our parents. Um, our attendance initiative was, you know, really big at Peill and I did not mince words with the parents when it came to Cardinal Connections, telling them that we needed students to be in their seats every day. Every day. Yes. Every day. If you take Tommy to the doctor, Timmy and Telicia
should be at school. >> That's right. >> We don't take them all to one appointment. you bring Tommy, Timmy and Telicia need to be on site. Um, and then just providing at home home learning strategies. My instructional coach, Miss Winston, um, helps to do that when she does her monthly newsletter to our parents, which also has social emotional things in it as well. Um, and our nurses are um, instrumental in having a little snippet in there for them as well. So, everyone in there and celebrating growth and it's not just achievement, growth, growth, growth. Okay. Um, consistent monitoring, celebrating growth. I got ahead of myself. We track growth. Thank you. All right. It's all about growth. So here here it is. Um our composite score in academic achievement increased 9.43%. Our math increased 12.73%. >>
That is amazing. >> ELA >> little dip almost we could say maybe it stayed a little stagnant but we're we're working on it. Miss Tucker says read, read, read every day on the announcements at 3:45. And then science went up 12.83%. Overall academic growth was 14.47% and chronic absenteeism [applause] 8.16%. >> Do you know what your chronic absenteeism was before that? >> It was working on it. >> It was It was an F. I know that >> and I think we raised to a C in that category. Um I want to say we do you remember? >> It's all right. It's okay. >> Yeah. But that I I really do um attribute to talking to the parents. We were giving them the percentage every quarter and letting them know where we were and thanking them
for getting their students to class. >> Right. Okay. And so what this progress represents is demonstrated growth over time through intentional aligned instructional systems. One of the things that I have been just um a stickler about in my life in general is being intentional. So, not just in my personal life, but also um at my school as well and as being an administrator here in Midell. And then a consistent focus on tier one instruction supported by targeted intervention and enrichment. And then a collective responsibility among educators, students, families, and leadership. And that leadership includes you all as well as all of these folks over here who did a wonderful presentation when we came back from break at my site. The teachers raved about the PD that our instructional facilitators did. So they are walking the
walk and talking the talk and doing their thing. So we appreciate them too. So in closing, PE Hills growth from an F to a C reflects intentional systems, as I've said, instructional focus and shared accountability providing a strong foundation for continued improvement and kudos to all who played a part in our success and that includes you all. So thank you so much. >> Thank you. [applause] >> Congratulations. >> Thank you. >> Appreciate it. Any questions? >> So, was the uh [laughter] >> No, no, I'm leaving. I'm done. >> Well, first off, I just want to say thank you and kudos for, >> you know, being intentional, investing in the families. And, you know, sometimes as parents, even myself, right, you need that extra, >> you know, my kids have to tell them, "Come on, daddy.
We got to get we got to be on time today." And, you know, I I get it together. So, >> thank you for that. >> Yes. Um, you know, you have some extraordinary kids that come out of Pleasant Hill. >> I believe in Pleasant Hill. I know the opening comments was, "How you gonna do better?" But, uh, >> I have five >> and I appreciate that. >> And I have five. >> I appreciate that challenge. >> And I have five that came through Pleasant Hill and they are some of the top students in our district. So, >> just want to say that our >> It's because of you. >> He's shy about it. [laughter] >> But, uh, so the growth numbers, is that from two years ago or is that benchmark from last year to
this year? Um, it is from last year to this year as well as Well, where's Rob? >> Oh, Rob's not here. >> It may have been for two years. >> It may be two years because the one in the middle we don't always talk about. >> Okay. >> Yeah, because that's phenomenal. I think that that's Yeah, that's very that's phenomenal. So, congratulations. >> Thank you. Thank you. Good work. >> Thank you. >> Excellent. Next, I would like to bring up um Miss Susanna Bennett. She is the director of our student accounting, but last year she was the head principal of Tinker Elementary. And then I would like to bring up the current principal of Tinker Elementary, Dr. Stephanie Cavner. And they are going to tell you about the growth that they had at Tinker Elementary.
>> Excellent. All right. President Standage, members of the board, and Dr. Pop, we would like to start by introducing you to our slideshow about Tinker. >> We went from a D to a C. And so we're focusing on that growth as well as what we're doing to sustain that growth. So, why are we here? We're here to um show what Tinker did to improve from a D to a C and then what instructional practices that we what instructional practices that Susanna been asked about put in place to make that difference and then what myself and our teachers are doing to sustain. >> So, we did start with the letter D. I was the years and what I noticed um whenever I first got there was there was just little inconsistencies with the structural practices and
we wanted to boost student growth because it wasn't where we wanted it to be. Um and so there was also a high academic and behavioral need there as well. And so my plan uh was to get with our guided coalition and come up with ways that we can um boost instruction and make sure we support our teachers with giving them the supports they need as far as um consistent instructional practices. Um and so on this slide, these are all the things that encompasses a PLC and how it is um successful. And so what I wanted to do is all lot a lot of time for our teachers. Whenever I got there, the teachers were new and some of the teams, they were all new. So, they needed time to plan so that they can lay
the foundation for their grade level. And so, I did give them a half day once a month um to plan with their team. We secured substitute teachers. They were able to plan um and they were able to identify what do we want our students to learn? How do we know that they're learning it? they were able to come up with instructional strategies, 14-day plans, and create um CFAs um so that they can assess the students. And so I was glad that I was able to give them that time so that they could build a strong foundation as a team. Um we also have what I need. Yeah, what I need is our tier 2 instructional time. And what the teachers did is they looked at the PLC data template that I built for them that
our guided coalition put together. They had the essential standards, they built their plans. Well, at the end, they gave the their students a test um on that skill and they used that data to know how to group their kids to get them what they needed. Um it was Tuesday through Thursday. Um and so giving them time to plan and build that foundation as a team, giving them the resources that they needed. Um, I think that played a huge role once I laid the foundation. They just took it and ran with it. And so they had the expectation and they knew what to do moving forward. Some of the supports um, we tried to attend those meetings as much as possible, but they also put the information uh, in our drive and so we were able
to go to it if they needed extra supports, we were able to get those supports. Our teaching and learning team were was able to come out and offer supports as well. Um, and so it's really important for us to make sure we were a presence there so they knew that we felt it was important as well and we were able to extend that support to them. And so to make sure that she was a part of those meetings, I came over to Tinker and I provided supports to student behaviors um helping students better regulate um and be safe and then also to reduce the number of disruptions that were occurring in many of the classrooms because of those behaviors because our goal was like she said to make sure that she was a part of
those meetings with those students. Um those results led from us moving from a D to a C. um because of uh increased instructional consistency amongst teachers um earlier student supports and then increased learning time. What are we doing? Um teacher teachers myself we're working to keep those instructional systems that Mrs. Bennett asked put in place helping to keep them stay intact. Um we consistently have our PLC meetings on Wednesdays. Um it's there's no interruptions. We don't have um any parent meetings, any IEPs so that teachers can go into those meetings working with the instructional um coach as well as myself. We've had facilitators come to provide support to those PLC meetings. Um those PLC meetings are focused on student learning, not just what the teachers are teaching, but how are we showing evidence that students
are learning? What what is that ticket out the door? Um we're also we also in addition protected time for our PLC's. We also have protected time for time. Um, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 2:45 to 3:25. If you'd like to, >> I will invite you. Um, we're also working on consistent communication with staff um, and families. Um, Mrs. Aspa had a monthly that she shared with families. Um, but with us being a military neighborhood school, we I've increased that those from monthly to weekly, including all of the things, the dates, information to help support reading and math. And then the importance of being attentive and being at school. Um, when we look at our score for yes, we've moved to a C, but we are still struggling with absenteeism. So, we're wanting to motivate our
students to be there. And one of the things that we've also done for that is we have a weekly assembly versus a monthly assembly where we continuing to celebrate our students who are increasing their scores in their level readers. We're also working to identify those students who are positive. Um we also have our teachers watching teachers and recognizing them with our each week. We also have our spirit stick, which is one of my favorite pieces where we started with just a simple stick. And each class that's looking for another class, another teacher that's doing a good job, they get to add a little embellishment to that spirit stick. And it goes from teacher to teacher. And the teachers get to express just what it is. And the kids love being a part of that. They
love coming to school to see that. And so that's really one of the things that in addition to the things that Mrs. Betta already had in place, we're trying to encourage them to want to be a part of. >> Excellent. Any questions? Thank you so much. >> I just want to say >> what you're doing. >> I certainly appreciate the transition back at you all are working together and you just said you know good luck. >> I got her back. >> So thank thank you for that. And then uh and then I'll just say you know just talking for you too. I mean, I just, you know, I'm happy that you all are measuring progress, um, seeking out creative ways to address them, even though the grades may have started F or D, but at
least you you acknowledged it and then you started to make plans to collaborate, work together, get ideas, and come up with solutions. And I I just think that's phenomenal. >> I love the way that you stepped up to the plate, right? Like challenge accepted. And I think that is an infectious attitude. And that is part of what makes Mindell great. Like I just I want to go to Pleasant Hill now. So like [laughter] I want to go back to school. Okay. Okay. Um no, I just it's refreshing to see the love of our district and the love of our students and families um come out and I think we're all blessed here to get to see that. Um so great job both of you or all three of you actually. Great job those schools and
um keep letting us know about the chronic absenteeism. >> That's that's a big factor in there. >> I don't know if that's the biggest obstacle we have but if it's not it's in the top two or three. I mean it really is >> that may impact learning >> if you're not there you're not getting >> attendance being showing up unlocks so many things so many positive things. >> What do they say 80% of success is showing up. >> Oh and I just want to Last thing. So the stick you pass around and you get That's an interesting concept. It's kind of like the turnover chain >> in football, right? You >> Yeah. >> turnover chain. >> You should see this. >> We didn't play football. >> They do it now. Well, the college students were
made to play football. >> I do want to ask this. I know when you when you look at the quantitative data, >> that's a great you look at the [clears throat] peer-to-peer kiddos to past kiddos to where we are now, you'd almost have to in order to see that growth. But they're not the same kiddos. >> She has a document that she created last year that we're building on where she started by looking at students in third grade and we scores and then we grade students. So keeping them >> sorted by cohort, >> but the second column on the school report card shows growth, you know, and and you know, when the when the report card system in its current incarnation started, column one is just student achievement. Column two is achievement growth. Column one
in a lot of ways is this is how they showed up when we got them. And column two is what we've done with them. >> That's right. >> And that's what I'm always proudest of. It's not it's you know and and that's a and we're starting over with a new batch of kids every year with a new c batch of issues but we're growing them and that's what that's what I'm proud to say. >> Thank you so much. >> Thank you all. >> Okay. Item five, vote to approve or not approve the purchase and land sale agreement with Monroe Homes LLC. Okay. And um I have Kendra uh is here from Plusy Real Estate to answer any questions that you have about these. We have three real estate deals on the agenda today. This is
the property uh over between McDonald's and the tech center. It's been a vacant lot for as long as I've been here at least, but um looks like somebody wants to buy it and build a house there. Move >> to approve. Second. Any more discussion? >> That was great. I've passed that lot several times taking the case. >> Yes, I passed it not too long ago. >> What was the appraise value? Is that the fair market value? >> I don't know. >> There was nothing at all. >> Okay. >> Yeah, it's fair market. >> We listed it higher to see if we could get higher >> and I think fair market value is, you know, the only offer that we received in a couple of years. So >> what's fair? >> That's right. >> What's fair
is not having to mow it and insure it anymore. >> What's fair? That's relative. >> So yeah, thank you so much. >> Okay, let's vote. >> Okay, motion passes. Item six, vote to approve or not approve the purchase and land sale agreement with Kimberly Jackson for the land at 36 and Schroeder in Forest Park. This is um a buyer who has been interested in the property about as long as I've worked here and the city of Forest Park was also interested, but this was the better offer and and they accepted our counter that >> do we know what they're going to use that property for? So to approve >> second >> discussion >> they intend to build a house >> and they were okay with wasn't somebody not okay with >> so they were just
okay this person motion passes item seven vote to approve or not approve the purch purchase and land agreement with Big Easy Farm, Inc. for the Garm Middle School property. >> Move to approve. >> Second. >> Okay. Any discussion? >> Well, let me just basically as we move to sell that bill, will we be responsible for the environmental issues, liability? >> Well, but there's a legality in terms of things such as that. But you still responsibly. >> Yeah. >> Well, I mean, not necessarily. Not when you sell it. I mean, the buyer will have to take off. >> They'll have to take on. Okay. Good. >> And fair market value. That's >> Yeah. I mean, been at it for >> five and a half years. >> Yeah. I've been at it for three years. So, um,
yes, I tend to say the market. >> Thank you so much. >> Yes. >> And you've been honored for that in over years, haven't you? [laughter] >> I know that property really well. if you wanted to recognize you. >> Thank you, dear. You're welcome. >> And just just because I had some questions over the weekend, the the buyer Big Easy Farm that that raised some flags um and I looked them up. >> They're a Tecumpsa based uh organization that is classified as a military and veterans organization and it is a nonprofit and uh from what Kendra has told me, their intention is to use it as a community center for veterans. I don't know what their timeline is and what shape that takes or how that looks, but it seems to be right in our
wheelhouse. >> Yes. Yes. I told him he's very nice gentleman, but yes, that's the use that he explained to me and he seemed very um passionate about it. It was something he was really excited about. So, >> they have all their honors consideration. >> Yeah, they they have their funding available allegedly. Um supposedly >> we run a few times too. >> I don't like allegedly. >> We're hoping everything flies through this kind. Yes. And it's a much shorter due diligence. So once this is approved, it should be closed in 60 days. So >> I appreciate you clear up my farm comment. >> Okay, let's vote. >> And what's the window? >> What's the window once we sign tonight? What does that closing window? Do we know what that is? >> It does run off of
signature. >> 60 days. Okay, motion passes. >> Fingers crossed. Thank you so much. Thank you. >> Thank you for >> that's a triumphant three. >> It's kind of weird all coming together at the same time, but >> item eight, vote to approve or not approve FY 2425 audit. Mr. Keer. All right. >> My name is Michael Keer. I'm one of the partners at Chicken Kimber. I think you all always had Jay present the audit. He's trying to semi-retire this past year. So, >> um, >> everybody deserves that. >> Yeah. He's been in the business 35 over 35 years. long time. >> Um, we'll start with the independent auditor's report and that's on page four. >> The opinions paragraph is going to be right at the top. [clears throat] Um, the second paragraph really is is
kind of where I like to go. Um it states that in our opinion the financial statements referred to above present fairly in all material respects the respective financial position of the governmental activities each major fund in the aggregate remaining fund information of Midwest City Dell City School District number I 52 Oklahoma County Oklahoma as of June 30th 2025. Um so that's a clean opinion on the financials. Um, no real issues uh this year with anything we looked at. Um, pretty easy balancing to everything. Uh, we'll jump over to page 74. This is the schedule findings and question costs and it's a summary of auditor's results. Uh, goes over what I just went over in that report but also identifies the major federal programs that we tested this year. There was a little bit of ESER
funding remaining that was kind of up above the type A limit. So we tested those programs as a cluster and then also the child nutrition program all the programs that kind of go into that. Uh the district did qualify to be a low-risisk audit for federal program purposes because we haven't had any findings in the last couple of years and clean opinions the last two years. Thank you. >> Down at the bottom there, you can see uh on the financial statement side of the audit, there were no reportable conditions. And regarding those two federal programs, there were no reportable conditions either. Last year, of course, there were were no prior year findings, so there's nothing really to resolve on that. Um do you all have any questions about it? >> Thank you. And thank questions.
>> Move to approve. >> Second. >> Good. Now, let's vote. >> Thank you so much. Thank you, >> Miss Woodard. Thank you and your staff for all that you guys do. You make it look easy. They're amazing. They're amazing. >> They are. Yes. >> Okay. Item nine, vote to approve vote to approve or not approve stipens for award recipients. Miss Brown. >> Yes. President Sandridge, members of the board. Dr. Cobb, with your approval, we'd like to recognize this year's district award recipients across instructional, leadership, and support categories with a one-time 100,000. Can I Can I do uh $1,000 stipend for winners? See, I'm the reason we have to have audit this unpaid [laughter] position. >> They're like, "Wait, what?" Uh, excuse me. $1,000 stipen for winners and $100 for finalists prior to the fixed cost.
And I appreciate your consideration even though it's not $100,000. [laughter] >> Approve. >> Second. >> Okay. Any questions? >> Wish we could get the right. No doubt. >> Right. >> Okay. Let's vote. Okay. Motion passes. >> Thank you. Item 10. Vote to approve or not approve revisions to Policy C30. Miss Mans, >> President Sandwich, members of the board, Dr. Cobb, I am requesting your approval for the revisions to policy C30. >> Motion passes. Thank you. Nice. >> Usually I'm usually good for a couple weeks and then it's like Okay. Item 11, vote to approve or not approve revisions of Midell Tech Cent's student handbook. Miss Foster. >> Yes, President Sandridge, members of the board, Dr. Cobb, we are requesting changes to the Midell Technology Center handbook. I do want to note on page 29, I
believe, of your document, we started stroking out language and didn't finish our sentence. So, um, it happens. So, it should read If the applicant is given the recommendation to continue the application process, comma MDTC will contact the applicant. Perfect. >> It happens. >> Do we need to say move to approve without change? >> With a minute. Yeah. >> Second. >> Made the motion. All I can see is like this part. Sorry. [laughter] >> You can't see the mouth move. >> Okay. Okay. Let's vote. >> So, I see we're settling in not total rewrites. We're out of the collection. >> You're getting there. >> Okay. Motion passes. >> Thank you. Hi. >> Hi. All right. Item 12A, vote to approve or not approve all actions recommended in the human resources report. Miss Houston, >> President Standage,
members of the board, and Dr. The first item I bring to you is a recommendation or request for your approval of the attached personnel items. >> Move to approve. Second. >> And we currently have 33 support positions. Um but only 12 certified openings. So that's significantly better than we were this time last year in certified. Um, seven of those positions are at sites and others are districtwide such as instructional I mean well it has instructional facilitator position and then a nurse and a couple of SLBs. >> Thank you. Appreciate it. >> Anyone else? Okay, let's vote. Okay. Item B, vote to approve or not approve the request for certified adjunct teachers. >> This is a certified individual who will be teaching outside of her credentialed area. >> Move to approve. >> Second. >> Any questions?

[laughter] >> Kelly is here today. She shortened her vacation just to be with us. [laughter] >> Love the
dedication. >> Move to approve. >> Second. Second vote. >> Okay. Any questions? How many nurses do we currently have? >> Oh, you would ask me that. Um, >> is there one at each elementary? >> No, ma'am. No, there's not. Now, there are LPNs, so licensed practical nurses that work. We have a few that work with individual students, so they're in the building. >> Um, >> I I don't want to lie to you.
