Three, not speak regarding a matter that is currently the subject of an investigation being conducted by the district or its agents or attorneys or which the subject of an ongoing criminal investigation. Four, in order for the board to fulfill its obligation to complete a planned agenda in an effective and efficient fashion, a single participant period of 30
010minutes will be permitted at each meeting. Each person who wishes to speak will be allotted five minutes until a total time of 30 minutes is used. Groups consisting of three or more persons shall designate a spokesperson that will be given five minutes to speak and represent the group. >> Wow, that was pretty deep. Yeah. Okay. Uh so I'm not here for any of those things. Uh again, my name is Quincy Benton, lifelong resident of Oklahoma City, Billwood Falcon. Don't judge me. >> You all [laughter] Okay. Okay. And so, uh the reason for my attendance here tonight, I've actually started the conversation and dialogue, but I wanted to introduce myself formally. I'm co-founder of an organization called ASVAD Edge Academy. I co-ounded it uh with uh she couldn't be here tonight. She's a 12 year United
011States veteran of the Air Force and Army. And we along with a several different conversations that we had with recruiters and JOTC coordinators, school administrators throughout the community, we found that there's a a pretty pressing need for ASPAB preparation for high school students. It's come to our attention that a number of students are not being prepared for this test and and it lines I think with some of the state goals at least that we're hearing. There's something called the three E. I don't know if it's a state initiative, but it's called we're hearing about it as far as the students either needed to enlist, enroll, or get employed once they they graduate from high school, which makes a lot of sense to me. And and with that effort, uh particularly when it comes to enlisting,
012uh the ASPAB ASVAB is a critical test for those students to be able to to do well on. There are minimum score requirements. there's a lot of incentives incentives for them to do well on that test to to qualify for certain jobs once they enlist into whatever branch of military service they're they're looking to get into. And uh we just think there's a pressing focus for that. So our goal here tonight or is to at least to formally engage or would like to engage in a conversation with the board with some of the leaders, superintendent, really the high school principles as well to there's any particular assistance that we can provide or if there's just a general need for ask throughout the district. >> That's my presentation for tonight. >> Thank you. Thank you so
013much. Thank you. >> All right. Thank you. Did you guys have any questions or >> not? Okay. I do that. >> But thank you so much. >> Thank you. Appreciate it. >> Thank you. >> Yes. >> All right. I wanted to say that publicly. Yes. And Dell City is getting ready to also. >> So, um I've included some money uh for our utility increases and also appropriate uh our red bud money that we expect to get. Um so that's available for us to spend uh when we receive it. And the tech center building fund and the sinking fund are not changing because their appropriation is fine where it is. We didn't need an increase. >> Second, >> I votes I
023vote to approve or not approve the purchase of registration for the RTI at work conference. >> Yes, President Sandridge, members of the board, Dr. Cobb, the RTI at work conference equips educators with practical strategies to identify and support every student's learning needs. Much like PLC, it strengthen how schools uh sorry, respond when students struggle with deepening their understanding of the professional learning community process. That was his pretty much his baby. So, do we know where we are with impact aid now? I know that that's provided to usually by the US Department of Education. So, them no longer. Do we anticipate applying a year for impact aid again or what happens with those deferred? >> We are working on our applications right now and getting those sent out. um the last few years after COVID, it's been extremely hard to get those applications back. So, we have been able to qualify for those students who are active duty and who live on base. Those civilian jobs,
027uh we have not qualified for because we haven't met the threshold. >> So, we're uh Miss um our name just flew out. Susanna um is doing a really good job trying to incentivize getting those applications back so we can we can get back into getting that revenue. We actually never came out of the big bed. We got up to the bridge a couple of times but we never got out of the big bed. Uh and we met with the city uh and discussed whether we could do renovations and build down on the baseball field and they
031were all they're very supportive of us staying in that position. So, we haven't had any problems. We had significant rain this year, too. So, that's >> I drove down there during some of the biggest rainstorms that we had this year, and I was able to get to the ball field and get out and take pictures. The the the little league fields that are up on on 15th Street were underwater. Our baseball field was not carrying water, nor was our tennis court.
