Let's call this meeting to order. >> Schultz >> here. >> Dr. Kirk >> here. >> Dr. Daniel >> here. >> Okay, let's have a moment of silence. Valentina here to do our flag salute for us. Look how cute she is. She's precious. I like drawing and sketching, reading and cheerleading. >> Um, I do midell youth cheer. I am a student council president at my school. I'm a natur student. What's your [Applause] >> My mom is Gilda Suarez and my dad is Edgardo Himenez. >> My personal My principal is Miss Rick Walt. [Applause] I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. I salute the flag of the state of Oklahoma. It symbols the

peace unite all people. Good job. Give her a hand. >> Okay. Consent agenda. I need a motion to approve A through >> Move to approve. >> Second. >> Any questions? I'd like to call Dr. Cobb and Dr. oils down here. >> They know me well enough. I won't hurt them. >> I don't know what's going to happen, but I'm not worried about it. >> One of Dr. Royals students

when she was a teacher at Midwest City High or principal at Midwest City High School 1913 or 2013 graduate >> 2013 graduate of Midway City. Milana Smith Brack wrote a book about Midwest City and she wanted to present a book to Dr. Cobb and Dr. Bro, to thank them for their work in the district and especially the support that you've g given the Midwest City High School History Center. She did a lot of her research at the history center and uh a lot of the books or a lot of the pictures in the book are taken from the history center. So, she wanted you to have a signed autograph copy. I'm sorry she couldn't be here to present it herself, but she said I'd do. >> Good job. [Applause] It didn't hurt. >> One other

note, we are we do have some of these available at the history center. We're there every Wednesday from 9 to 4. For a small donation, we'll give you one of them. >> Thank you. >> Item 4B, superintendence report. Dr. >> Okay. Glad to report that. I just received a book. Um, >> yeah, >> thanks, Bob. That's really neat. Um, we don't we're not normally supposed to comment on public participation, but that was really cool. So, I'll say that. Um, we need to go back. This is uh Miss Foster's presentation. So, can we go back to the beginning, Joe? All right. So, uh, everybody was here at the groundbreaking ceremony for Townson Elementary School. Um, and that was a lot of fun. you know, we have, I think, 11 or 12 sites that are in some

phase of construction right now. We don't do groundbreaking for all of them. Um, although I did get an email from a teacher last week about that. Um, she teacher emailed me and said, "Why wasn't I invited to the groundbreaking at our school?" And I said, "I wasn't either." Um, but when we're building a whole new school and it's the most we've ever spent on a single bond project, we absolutely do a groundbreaking for that. So, it was really nicely done. And so, I want to thank Willbrook and um everybody who worked on that. Uh Stacy, Candy, Andy, I took me about three days to recover from injuring myself jumping over the arch when she was blowing up the balloons. But um and the weather was pretty much perfect that day. So, thank you all for

coming out. And I'm looking forward to really having more uh more months like September where we only get a quarter of an inch of rain for the whole month and can really move a move forward quite a bit. Um, we have had two homecomings in the last uh few weeks. Carl Alberts was this Friday and Midwest City was a couple weeks before that and we have another one coming up this Thursday in Dell City. What time is homecoming? What time is the parade? >> 145. 145. >> 145. Gotcha. Uh, Carlbert High School softball team is headed to state this week >> and the middle school softball team were suburban conference champions. and the Carlart Middle School seventh and eighth grade volleyball teams were also suburban conference champions. The Tech Center last week hosted the Specmix

brick brick layer 500 Oklahoma regional qualifier. I've never seen a brick laying competition and it was really really cool to watch >> and I took my turn um trying to lay some bricks. I was not good at it. Um they say it takes 10,000 hours to really master a skill. I'm 15 minutes towards that. So, so do that another 40,000 times and uh maybe you'll get somewhere. But no, that was a lot of fun to watch. And and uh Rick, Christie, you guys maybe should hire some of these people because they move fast. So, um it was it was really wa just watching the methodical work that they were doing and every team approaching, tackling the challenge a little differently. Just it was really cool. gonna get perfect weather for it. >> I should have

came to that because I need to build a retaining wall. I could have got some >> No, you need to pay somebody to build a retaining car. That's It's probably a better idea. Um, every time I think I need to do something, there are a few there are very few times that I'm happy I did it myself. When I was younger, maybe, but not now. Carl High School theater department competed in their first one act festival. They were awarded a superior rating and were also awarded best ensemble, best direction, best company, and fan favorite. Del City High School Theater Department received a superior ranking at the Oklahoma Thespians State One Act Festival. That's a different competition. And so, congratulations to them. That was my stuff when I was in high school. State one act. Midway

City High School hosted the dances of cultures events for their students and that was really cool. 2025 senior conference was a couple of weeks ago and um how many students did we have? How many of our seniors were there? Over 500. Really cool. The Delid big event um included students from several uh Delity High School student organizations that came out to help clean up and add to the beauty of the city. Cleveland Bailey Elementary first grader Klan Washington received the best birthday gift of all. His mom PB2 Sarah Sawats of the US Army who returned home from a six-month deployment to surprise him at school. Middell hosted the first NCAA family night of the school year last week. >> Coach Mike Dunn has been named the 202425 OSSAA coach of the year. That's for all

sports. >> Miss Harding or Mr. Harding from Carl Middle School was awarded the OEB grant for TSA rece and received drones and robotics equipment for the TSA club. Uh we've had several uh teachers recognized recently in the media. Most recently, Mr. Mitchell from um Del City High School, a drama teacher on KFOR and um Kimy who is a third grade teacher at Richest on Channel 5. team of midell counselors had the opportunity to attend the Oklahoma school counselor association's fall conference couple ago. Uh I was able to take some of my team from and they're think they're pretty much all here almost all here tonight to the school CEO conference in Arkansas a few weeks ago. Um we went to sessions that are focused on student and educator recruitment, marketing and strengthening communications with families

and communities. It was a great conference and as you can see there in addition to having uh Stacy and Dr. Borl, we took um uh Devon and uh and then Susanna from student accounting to really focus on marketing in their departments as well. Our executive director of family and student student services, Megan Bryant, had the opportunity to attend the National Fire Academyy's youth fire setting prevention and intervention training course in Maryland. Dr. Dr. Kirk received uh an award uh was recognized by city chapter of CHUMS, Inc. at the I'm Every Woman Scholarship Lunchon. And Miss Stand was honored at the uh for the 25 inspiring Oklahomaans over 55 at the state capital a couple weeks ago. Very nice little crowded ceremony, but it was very nice. >> Yeah. But the snack food was from RCoo.

So that was really nice. I didn't hate that. Little sandwiches. That's all I have. >> You had a And you had a big crowd when I when I got when I got in. Um I told them who I was there for and they knew your name and they said, "I don't know if there's any room left at her table." So >> I love it. I'm sorry. >> Great. You had more people there to honor you than Frank Giddy had to honor him. So we'll we'll just leave that there. pass by. >> Okay. Item 4 C bond update standards members of the board. Dr. job. >> The bond update is I guess we have >> everything's good. >> That's great. >> You can do the tech center update too if you want, Rick. >> Yeah. >>

Okay. We too had some pictures of the groundbreaking uh at Townsen. This was what last week, last Tuesday or something like that. Uh got some other pictures here. Which one? Yeah, exactly. Anyway, they're going to town doing a lot of dirt work out there. They've gotten all the subbase sub uh dirt work done and they're start they were going to start today putting select fill in, but the rain kind of held them up. So they're going to start tomorrow putting select fill in. So that job is off and rolling along. This is Barn Storm Shelter. They're finished up actually on the inside doing all the metal studs and everything. The electricians and plumbers and duct people are in doing that. And that's a shot there on the outside. They're fixing to start the brick work

there at Barnes Eperly Heights. They got finally got the dirt worked and we really gone through a lot trying to get the dirt work and everything done. Get the slab poured. We had to raise that slab up about a foot. Uh anyway, uh they've they've got the ICF formwork, that's the styrofoam formwork that you see there in place and they're actually going to start pouring in the morning probably four or five o'clock in the morning to get those walls poured. So we will have walls at upperly tomorrow. This is Tinker Tinker Storm Shelter and this this piping and stuff there on the left side is a big deal. We had some flooding going on over there in the parking lot trying to get that squared away. So, we finally gotten that taken care of and

uh we're trying to find a day we can get the deck port on on top up there because we keep we're blocking people from being able to physically get in and out of the school. So, I haven't heard the day they're going to pour it, but we'll have a slab poured on top. That's the roof deck there. This is the Carl Albert Middle School classroom edition. They're laying blocked there. They're just about finished up with loadbearing masonry and they're uh just about to if they haven't started already putting uh joist and deck on top and getting ready for that middle school classroom edition. Same same thing. That's a shot there on the inside. This is the Midwest City Middle School kitchen and cafeteria. and they're moving on. Uh they're erecting steel, finishing up block down

in the kitchen area. This is Dell City Middle School kitchen cafeteria. And we also there have a lot of dirt work we had to do just to get out of ground. So there's a lot a lot of work just to get to the point we are there. And you will start seeing the south side which is this media center. This is over on the south side. We poured the slab there last week and they will start erecting steel there just in the next few days. So, this one will be going vertical. This is the Carl Albert storm shelter at Carl High School Storm Shelter. They've got some This is the brown panels there that you see are some new type panels they put on there. They look really, really good. Uh and uh they're doing

MEP mechanical, electrical, and plumbing rough in on the inside of the building. Starting duct work on the inside and actually fixing to start sheetrock in some areas. Midwest City High School storm shelter classroom. They poured the slab last week. The roof deck has been poured and of course you see the erected storm shelter panel. So, for the most part, we've got a a functioning storm shelter there. It's the doors right at the moment, but we'll have those in here before too long. That's it. >> I I do have a question. With so many projects going on, >> what is your projected date for each of them? >> We've got multiple We've got 10 different projects going on right now and we've got just multiple dates. We, you know, a lot of them are set up

trying to get ready for school start next year. >> Exactly. >> Is what a lot of them are. And a lot of that depends on too, like when we get our permit, when we get our permit is when we can actually start. So that's actually the start date. So it's real important for us to to push to get our our permit from the city >> on these things. >> But thank you so much. >> You're welcome. >> Thank you. Technology Center update, Miss Foster. >> It was a It was a teaser. So, >> that's right. That's right. Well, um, President Stanidge, honorable members of the board, Dr. COB very excited uh to talk all things tech center kind of celebrate where we've been and talk a little bit about where we're headed. So always like

to start with the history and that really should probably say Middell began classes at the Midelltech building in ' 6566 started with auto body aircraft engines electronics upholstery air condition and more. Um and then the three high schools combined their cosmetology as well in 196566. Another date that's important and we'll talk a little bit of in a few slides is another important date is 19 approximately 1973. That was when the joint resolution with Rose State began. Um and then 1977 is when we were officially recognized years ago. It was called state vocational board. It's now state department of career tech voted to make midell votech which is mideltech because votech >> retire that word. >> We retired that word. That's right. And I yeah didn't wear my shirt but I should have but um uh

made mideltech an official tech center in 1977. Um I always start our all staff with celebrations and I limited myself to one slide. I could have gone on and on and on. Um and so we'll talk about a few um certificate ceremony. 135 students completed their program. 499 certificates and competencies earned and that could be nationally in industry recognized certifications or state uh accreditations or certifications competencies. Um very proud of that number. another skills USA what I'm being told and I can say at least in my time the most students we've ever sent to national and that is 13 students and we did bring home a gold in opening and closing ceremony BPA also sent students to national our LPN students our INLEX pass rate is 92% um we have one student from last year

that hasn't taken the exam yet so Um, maybe we'll we'll get over that 92%. Masonry, the brick layer 500. Last year we placed one through four. This year, happy to report one through four. I do believe a team is going to Vegas to compete. I guess there's a national briglier contest. I didn't know that when we hosted. Um, and then our adults took fourth. Um, we received numerous grants over last year and this year. Um, what I'm really excited is, what year was that? 2022. We started forming articulation agreements with Rose State. Um, it took us a couple years, but I can actually say our cyber security program last year. 23 of our students earned 183 college credits for their program at Mideltech. So amazing. We are continuing the process with our other programs as

well. So, um, excited that those transcript, uh, those credits got posted. Um, started the Midell Impact podcast. I think many of you all, uh, were on. >> That's the best thing. >> It was fun. So, um, hey, come on. I'll sign you up anytime. Anytime. >> Um, and then many more. I could have gone on and on. And then our start of 2526 celebrations um, are already through the rose. Um, just a little bit about staff. We have approximately 60 full-time employees. Um 61% are under five years at Midell Technology Center. However, the majority of them have years and years of years of education and career tech experience. So, that's our breakdown. Um we do have several I call them permanent part- timerrs. um a couple of adjuncts at Tinker and then um some of

our maintenance and facilities guys. Um later in the board agenda you'll see a proposed reorg. I will tell you in 2020 2020 2022 I kind of walked into an organizational structure. I have been in the weeds the last three years. I needed to be in the weeds the last three years. I can tell you about all the operations. But now it's time. I have amazing people in place. I need to step back and focus on the community, the workforce growth. Um, and to do that, I need to step back a little bit and and rework just a little bit. I actually have a immediate reorg, a one-year reorg, and then probably a three to fiveyear reorg. And that is for session secession planning um and and growing people into leadership roles. um 15 full-time programs.

Um you've seen this slide before. We did launch in let me take that word back. Industrial technology started in this year. Um we did start just with one section. Um the other program we launched is the launch room. We are bringing ninth graders out for an hour and 15 minutes a day from all three high schools. um they get to explore STEM and they also get to see all of our programs. Um so it's very exploratory. Um some of our enrollment demographic. So if you see FY23 2425, those are the end of the year. That's where we landed the end of the year. Currently, as of October 1, we're sitting at 420 455 students. I'm very very proud of that number. 368 high school students and 86 adults. Now what we will be focusing on

when we talk about growth, we are going to focus on multiple enrollment periods. Currently they start in August. We need to get to where they can start maybe at a nine weeks or even at semester we can take because if they don't get in in August, they don't get in at all. We need to fix that. We also need to fix mixing of first and second year students so we can serve more students. And you'll see kind of the breakdown between AM and PM um in just a few minutes. Um this is the breakdown by high school and this was as of August 1. Um and I don't know some of you were on the board back in 2022 when the question was Del City's at 33. How come? I'm like well I need to

go research that. Right. >> My question. >> Yeah. Well, that's about how many applications we had from Dell City that particular year. So, very proud of our numbers when you look at Carl Albert, Dell City, and Midwest City. Um, they've kind of leveled out. Um, and so we we have a great representation from all three all three high schools. >> Awesome. This is just some information. Our programs range in their clock hours. So, 960 to 1500 hours depending on the program. for school year 2526, 81% of our total enrollment is high school students and 19% adult students and that's about where we want to sit. Um, you know, we can go up or down a couple percentage and that's that's okay. We do have a couple programs that are adult only. So, um, high school

students attend half a day. They turn I I call it the morning or the afternoon. Um, and they get to go for free. And I also I mean if you're a high school student and you can go for free and find out your passion as a parent that's amazing because you can also figure out what their passion is not at a cheap cost. So um adults attend primarily all day $3 a credit hour. We do take uh financial aid Oklahoma promise GI Bill. There's other financial assistance. We also have a nextstep program for our students that graduated from either Carl Albert, Midwest City, or Dell City. They have 12 months to use it and they get a 50% reduction in tuition. Um, so if they go somewhere, they go for college, it wasn't for them,

they can come back and at a reduced rate. Currently, our AM session, we're at 101% uh capacity. So, we've overenrolled in some places. um our PM and I rounded those AM and PM. Our PM is 79%. Our total capacity is around 89.7 and and that'll be an important number we'll talk about in just a minute. Um we also um partner with the district on credit recovery. So Megan, help me. Pathway to careers career >> pathways um pathways to success. And so we do have a credit recovery if high school students are behind on their high school graduation credits. Um some of our students attend half a day in a tech center program and half a day in our credit recovery program. Some of our credit recovery students attend all day with us. So and then

we do serve over 5 uh 56 students in math instruction. Um this is our follow-up data. I always fit this data. 99% positive placement rate, 91% related placement rate, and then our hourly wage. Our data for 2425 will not be finalized till about January. And you kind of wonder, well, our our hourly wage is down just a little bit. We found every student but two um last year or last followup. So, they also allowed us to count part-time employment. Um, our cosmetology students, their hourly wage may be low, their tips may be high. That's sometimes why that hourly wage is is a little different. Um, workforce and economic development. Um, we look primarily at a couple things. We look at number of classes offered and we look at total enrollment. So, this is our Dell

City campus enrollment or number of classes and our Tinker Tech Um, and remember a couple I think about a year and a half ago I said CPR went back to Tinker. So we did lose some classes and also I do predict I do predict our classes could fingers crossed maybe not um may go down this year because Tinker's on a hiring freeze. We do a lot of the new hire training out at Tinker Air Force Base. So you kind of look at number of classes and then num number enrollments. So number of classes may have been down, but we may have served more students. So we just kind of keep an eye on those numbers. Um Tinker Tech, we do have an amazing opportunity. Uh Mr. Tarver retired. Um Miss Teresa Ransom is now officially

retired. However, she's um been ill and so unable to be out at Tinker. So Mr. Blake McCrad, Miss Melissa Overcash, Mr. Start Klein and myself have been rotating out at Tinker until October 6, which we were very excited that Miss Tiffany Burl started. Um, so we have some opportunity with um, Tinker Tech to maybe get some more classes and some different classes out there. This is an overview and big picture of funding. We have three buckets of funding. So we have state, local, and federal. Our local dollars consist of tuition, remember the $3 credit hour we charge to our adults, our activity funds, our Rose State dollars which are our Avalor dollars, and I'll talk just a minute about that. And then our Tinker Tech, we have a DoD contract. So classes we deliver, they

pay us for that. Our Avalorum um with Rose State, we receive approximately half of the Avalorum dollars. We receive approximately five mills in our general and 2 point give or take 2.5 in our building fund. Um some tech centers can vote up to 15 mills. Um currently we sit at at 10. Our state funding is our legislated appropriated dollars we receive from state department of career tech. So we receive approximately 1.8. We did receive some one-time funding last year. We opened a new health careers program last year to serve more students and we also opened the industrial technology program for this year. And we do rely on federal funds. We have Carl Perkins, TANF, some ARPA dollars um that we apply for. Where do we go from here? I mean, always excited. We we've made

we've made some strides. Um we're going to remodel our practical nursing and our health careers. Um, we've added space, not enough space. We still we're still looking. Um, we will open in fall of 27. Hospitality and tourism. I got a little excited. I thought I was going to open that this year. Probably a good idea that we didn't because we're out of space. We had to move nursing all the way up. They're actually at 24 students. And so, um, probably a good idea we hit pause on that and then we'll reopen that. We have program standards. They have to achieve 75% capacity, positive placement rate of 94% and then related placement of 86. So the challenge will be is how do we serve more students? I'm going to say this number, but I'm going to

kind of explain it. Over 600 applications applied that did not get into the program. However, they may have not completed the application. They may, if it was an adult, may have not come in to test. So we have 200 plus on a waiting list. So again, we've got to figure out multiple starting points, mixing of first year and second year, um that type of thing. So that is coming down the pipe. Um apprenticeships, that is a big topic. We are actually meeting with Meridian Technology Center next week and going to a meeting there in a couple weeks. we have an opportunity to um serve more students um if they currently are employed in that industry. We can provide them a certain number of instruction because they already have a job um for an apprenticeship. So

also an opportunity for high school apprenticeships um and I think it's Bria is attending with me when I go to Meridian Technology Center. Um because I'm one if anyone can do it, this tech center should be able to do it because of our structure because we are the best and I do think there's a lot of amazing opportunities out there that that you know we we've just started. So um and again continue partnerships with Middell schools and Rose State College. This is the space that we'll be remodeling two areas was where the daycare was. I call it the orange hallway where nursing. This is the nursing remodel. As you can see, there's a large classroom. There's a simulation lab. It's going to be a state-of-the-art simulation lab. We will simulate also a doctor's office. Um

patient rooms. We've built in a student lounge for those students in I call it in that wing. Um those students also stay all day so they do do some studying during breaks. Um and we have a computer labclassroom if it for growth. And then this is the health careers model a remodel. Um you can see three of those large classrooms feed into the health skills lab. our health information program will move down with the health wing and that leaves us some space for for a new health program. I will tell you a lot of our waiting list was health was health and we had a hundred apply for health careers and we were able to take 30 30ish. We overenroll a little bit but um so um that will be something um on the horizon

of of what health program we add. And then we always celebrate um because we have come a long ways. Sometimes we lose sight of that. So questions. >> Oh yes. I did have >> I knew you were gonna have and it's going to be one I don't know. >> I saw I know. I was like >> I saw the superstar Dr. Cob on the podcast that he didn't get. >> We can get you on the podcast. So come on. >> No, I was just you know recognizing the greatness. That's awesome. >> I was number one. >> You were number one. I knew >> I'm number two. >> And uh you should have been number one as well. So I agree. >> Excellent. Excellent. Excellent. I am so excited and uh just thankful for you and

what you've done with the career tech from day one. You just came in with excitement, with energy, with a plan, you know, with the experience. So truly want to thank you for this >> great presentation >> and I have amazing staff that have made this happen. So want to give them a shout out. >> Yeah. And you know you're you're building up a team. That's that's great. And I love that you have a plan for growth and their growth and and you know you know working with with teams and and being like a leader. You know sometimes you have to micromanage just to kind of get things done. You go to the problems and then you can take a step back once they have it under control. So, I I certainly see your plan, your

vision, and anything we can do to help, just let us know. >> I just appreciate the support. >> We want to salute you. Excellent job. Excellent job. Item four, district college remediation report. >> Thank you. Good evening, President Standrich, members of the board, and Dr. Cobb. I am bringing the um district college remediation report and the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education released the 2023 Oklahoma College Remediation Rate report in February 2025. This metric is applied to determine if a student would be required to take a developmental course in college um with the score below 19 on the ACT subtest for science, English, math, and reading. So, this is for the data is for the fall of 2023. So, we have 340 mid graduates of the 2023 senior class were reported as college freshmen to

the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. And these numbers reflect only the Oklahoma colleges that reported their remediation data to the Oklahoma regents for higher education. Um so from this group of students there was an average of30 um that were mediated in science. Um and then 15% were remediated in English, 25.9% were remediated in math and 1.5% were remediated in reading. Um we are far below the state average of 5.5% for remediation in the area of reading and all the high schools have made gains in at least one area of the report over the past five years. And then some other factors for you to consider. Not all midell high school graduates that attend college are represented in this report and this report only reflects instate universities and we have numerous students that attend out

of state institutions. >> Good job to approve. We don't have just a report, right? >> Oh, okay. So, is is the three is 340 is that the ones that were reported by the >> just the ones that stayed in the state >> and this old data too >> and I'm happy to report my daughter is at an out of state institution and she did not require any remediation. So like just add that in there. >> I got three >> that went out of state. Well, wanted to stay >> and they didn't need remediation either. >> I got so many kids out of >> So um >> kids I guess >> anybody else want to report on their children? >> Yeah, mine are doing great. >> Just a prime mid dad. I'm just a prime it

dad. That's all. >> But um excellent. So I guess the question is are we tracking this year by year and are we seeing I think you may mention that we're actually getting better. >> We are getting better. The only thing that I won't say I don't like um but it's just that it's so old. I mean it's 2023 so >> it's always a couple years behind. >> Yeah it's always it's always a always >> Okay. >> Thank you. Thank you. >> I like to brag about my >> You need to You need to >> Good job. >> I'm just I just want to give everyone else a chance. >> Yeah, that's right. >> Okay. Item five, discussion and possible action regarding Vanguard Academy Charter School application. Dr. Yeah, I sent you all um my notes

over the I guess it was last Thursday um after spending um a month a little more than a month reviewing the application for the charter school and my recommendation is that um that we disapprove the charter school application. >> What are your Yeah, I was gonna have a discussion. What are your top uh maybe your top three top three? >> Top three. I mean there are several areas. is I used the state uh charter school rubric um to um evaluate it and I found some areas um where they were pretty consistent that um in terms of their planning like mission statement and goals. Um the areas where I um felt like there was a lot more development needed were uh certainty around budget and finance um planning for uh recruiting employees um and then just

a lot more clarity in just in terms of of governance. On top of that I didn't really see a plan for serving students with special needs which is you know which is a real key. I mean, I think that was the first thing you noticed when you about it when when you looked at it, but I saw I saw several things that um were just lacking um maybe addressed in passing but not really fully developed >> and and what's the uh the recourse is if we reject it, then they have to go through the state. >> They can they can resubmit to us. The state law requires that they submit to a school district um at first and then they can resubmit um with with changes to the school district or take it to the

state charter school board and ask them to sponsor the charter school. So I mean they have definitely have we'll continue to have options >> and then when we send a when we deny or reject we also do a write up on why on why and give them feedback. The law the law does not actually require that, but since I've gone through it and and marked up and made some comments on the rubric that the state uses, I'm going to go ahead and include that >> in what we said. >> That allow them to go in really serious about those issues. >> Because the idea is that The idea is that you want them to be successful. So >> yeah, I think >> if you don't see a path to success, you want to, you know,

note that and say, "Hey, you may not be ready." >> I think there are two things we're considering here. One is, do we want to sponsor a charter school even if if it has the best plan? >> Um, and second, whether we're the sponsor, somebody else is the sponsor, do we think that the plan that exists on paper sets them up for success? And I think the answer well not really answering the first question because feel like the answer to the second question is a strong no from me that it's there's a lot more development that needs to happen um before we even consider if we wanted to if we wanted to sponsor a charter school and in the 11 years I've been here this is the first time we've had this question. >> Will

you just explain maybe for people watching or in the audience today why we have why we're looking at this and like how this all came about like >> yeah we received an application from u Vanguard um academy and their organizers um requesting that we sponsor their charter school application uh towards the end of August we receive that and by law we have to respond within 60 days so action tonight gets us with gets us within that window >> and then what does sponsorship entail So, say if you know they had a stellar plan application and we said, "Okay, we're going to sponsor." What does that mean for Midell in terms of being a >> sporable success or >> I think that what we've seen in just in recent years is that um the sponsor if

if things don't go well, the the sponsor gets dragged through the news cycle with them. Whether there's any specific liability or not, I I I don't know that. Um there's really no financial benefit to speak of. Um um I've talked to some other districts uh leaders in other districts who've gone through this question as well. But anything that we have our name attached to and don't really have any control over is not something I have much appetite for. >> It's almost like a recommendation given our expertise as a district school district. >> It's almost like your recommendation for them >> in a check and balance kind of way. Yeah. Okay. >> You already made the motion already. >> Okay. >> Second. >> Roger. Voting. I recuse myself. Just to be clear, we're we're voting to

>> not approve. Accept your recommendation and not approve. >> Correct. >> So vote a vote of >> a vote of yes is to accept my recommendation to not approve. >> Okay. Make sure a couple double negatives in there. Yep. You know, get that right. >> That's fair. I have my welcome. Yes. >> Yeah, there is an statement, >> right? >> My statement >> you have to You have to >> Okay. >> Mhm. It was hot earlier. >> I was burning up. >> And I don't want a statement. call. >> Okay. Dr. Kirk, >> Dr. Daniel, >> I >> Janna Grant, >> hi. >> Shelley Schulz, >> I >> chair. Item six, vote to app. not approve of a resolution to the Oklahoma County Election Board for election of school board number one. >> This just

our annual resolution for uh to hold an election for school board seat. Second is frozen completely. Okay, let's roll that one too. >> Hi, >> Dr. Daniels. I >> Schultz. >> I Okay. Item seven, vote to approve or not approve revisions to the listed policies. >> President Standard, members of the board, and Dr. Cobb, I come before you asking for approval on the following policies. These policies were just revisions that um Miss standards had asked us to review if any policies that were older than five years and so these are just some of the revisions. We have more but these are some and it was just bringing them up to date. Nothing major changed in them. It was just bringing them up to date. >> Um so I have a motion to uh separate some

of these policies. So, uh, I would like to pull out C5, C36, C37, F4, G31, G35, J30. I'd like to move those to the side and make a motion to approve what is left. >> Give us those numbers, but I think you pulled up. >> C5, C36, >> C10. >> Do you want C36? C37 F4 G31 G35 J30 >> second have some justical I don't need to pull I don't need to pull that >> some of these I think would have been prior to made them aware these changes were being made >> okay I make motion that we approve all the items except that Miss Schultz has pulled with the grammatical corrections that we've already disced We have a motion. >> But you got two motions. >> You have >> Can you Can you motion?

>> Yes. So, let me restate my >> present. You can resend your >> Let me resend my original motion and then I will make a new motion. >> Okay. Okay. So, I would like to pull I make a motion to pull policies C5, C36, C37, F4, G31, G35, and J30 off to the side for more discussion. Um, I make a motion to approve the following policies with the grammatical changes already sent in. C7, C8, C10, C12, C25, C35, E1, E4, E5, E6, E7, and E8. >> You got a second in discussion. >> Second. >> Okay, discussion. >> So, these are the ones that we're going to vote to approve. So you made the statement these were just updates. We want to bring it before you. You we're voting on them to accept as is or

did you have something or did I misinterpret? >> No, you're voting on them as >> Okay. Yes. >> I just wanted to clarify that. >> I was going to say that keep in mind that these policies have placed in terms of trying to update but they've been reviewed by the attorney. Correct. And the reason we did that is because we have been to several trainings and some of these were dated 15 years ago and they felt like we needed to at least review them to get a more current date. >> Not that they were bad policies. >> No. And they were reviewed by each department and then we I sent them off. refresh again. >> I I can't >> We can't even let us do that. No text. >> No, it's not. Just just go.

Let me see. >> Okay. Dr. Kirk >> I >> Miss Grant >> I Schultz >> I >> Dr. Daniels >> I chair. >> Oh, there it is. >> It's probably the cold air. I didn't do anything. I didn't do anything. You just you do I didn't do anything. Did you >> show up magic? >> It magically worked after I hit >> my vote. >> It was That's what it was. >> Okay. Item eight, vote to approve or discuss. >> Okay. Discussion open for C5. There was a couple of just small grammatical things in there, but um on the second page for number two, I kind of felt like uh number 10, we needed to add um principal or his or her designate to number 10. Uh so that uh we're covered in the in case

the principal's at another site or training or um so that was just a suggestion. Let me bring >> when an area has been inspected and a decision is made for an all clear only the principal and she wants to add and um or their designate can return students and personnel to classrooms. >> I think that would be >> that's that's appropriate. >> I think that's a good change. Yeah, since we did the rest of I think >> I make a motion that we accept the change as Miss Schultz has described >> for C5 for C5. And there's also another u just change instead of district make that executive director >> yeah of community relations just a title update we made those corrections >> we need a new >> we have a motion we need a

second >> motion What was the motion? >> Oh, okay. >> With your changes, >> you can keep that. >> Is this going is number 11 though, is that going in line with the new verbage and titles that have been given? >> Yes. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> More discussion. Let's vote. Miss Grant. >> Hi, >> Schultz. >> Hi, >> Dr. >> Hi, >> Dr. Daniels. >> I vot. Yeah, on the um on C36, I just kind of felt like we should take a closer look at the second paragraph and reward it. Um we talk about a tornado warning, but we don't say what we're going to do in the event of a tornado warning. And then we talk about in the middle of the paragraph parents picking up students. So, I just kind of feel like

maybe we should revisit paragraph number two, clean it up, and um bring it back for approval. And they each site they have the tornado procedures. Maybe want to insert that language. I know that's at each site would have the tornado procedures. >> Yeah. So, >> I wouldn't want to put procedures into policy because procedures can change based on >> current practice, best practice, more information, >> changes to buildings. >> Um, >> I agree to the top and think >> I'm not sure Miss Michelle, what is your concern on this paragraph? I'm looking at it. I'm not really seeing >> just reading it. We we talk about the tornado season and we say what we're going to do in the event of a tornado watch, but then we have a tornado warning is issued by the

weather bureau, but we don't really say what we do with a tornado warning. Um, and so that paragraph to me just seemed a little wonky. Um, if I can use that word, probably not the best descriptor. It just didn't for me as someone reading this policy. What am I supposed to do? What is paragraph number two directing the school district to do? And it's not clear to me. Um, so if it's not clear and you guys want to pass it, that's fine. I think this is generic. It's a policy. I think it's like has been I think it's >> well we have a tornado safety um >> I mean once a warning we go saying it's not doing but it is just defining what a tornado warning is for people that may not know. So

it's really that last sentence is really just a definition of what a tornado >> that's it that's all the g that definition she's saying or it seems as if she's saying but is school going to be let out at that point what is what is happening but that's what those things based on and we would have to come back every time >> every time we can't >> I move we accept policy as is Hey, so I guess it's saying this is what you do with a tornado watch. >> Yeah, >> that's an emergency or something. >> I mean, is the the language trying to different differentiate a warning from a watch? Warning is not as >> But the policy states the policy states the school that actually we won't do anything with a watch. >>

That's right. That's right. >> And it does not >> doesn't say what we will do with a warning. and um you know and and honestly if a and and we've had we've had both of those come up during the school day in the time that I've been here and as construction gets closer to being completed and all the bond projects we're about to have storm shelters everywhere except for you know this building the LSC maintenance transportation but I mean for mo you know most of our locations with students will have storm shelters and I mean I I I don't know I I there's probably a way to write this paragraph more precisely. I don't think that it ties our hands that it's that it's left vague. I think the fact that that there's nothing in

policy that in fact it says directly in policy that it's torn a watch is not enough of reason to >> we won't do anything. >> Right. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So um the question is what are we going to do in a tornado warning shelter? What are we going to do in tornado watch? >> What are the procedures? >> We go back to the procedures and they're listed on our websites. >> Yeah. >> The procedures are there. >> It's a regulation that goes through this because regulations we can change at any time. >> Policies we have to come back to the board and get changed. So that's why we did not list it in the policies because when things change and procedures change, we do not want to come back every time before you can

implement those. You can just change them on the regulations. >> So I >> Okay, so it says a tornado watch is issued by the weather bureau. Ultimately, school will not be dismissed because of watch happens in a warning. >> What's our policy? It's our policy that we will >> now shelters. >> Policy doesn't dictate what we do. If there's a warning, we get everybody to if we have a storm shelter at the school like half of our campuses have, we move everybody there. If we don't have a storm shelter um and we have time to move students, our procedures are, and this is on our website, as Dr. Bo has said our procedures are to move students from school A to school B I if they if there's a storm shelter at that school. If

there's not time to move then we have shelter in place procedures which are not ideal but they're still better than nothing. It's what we've lived with for, you know, 80 plus years of having school, you know, in Oklahoma in this district is, you know, shelter in the hallway, find the interior, you know, spaces away from windows and and all of that. So, I mean, we're getting to a point where during the course of this school year, we'll have more and more shelters come online, and we'll be updating those procedures on our website as we get more of those buildings finished in development. But our our policy doesn't need to say what we will do other than we're just going we will have a procedure we will have a plan in place and then follow that

plan. >> So can we say that you say given a tornado warning we will follow our whatever procedure >> and Dr. Daniel. >> Yeah, I guess what >> it is noted, we should note that every school in the district at the beginning of the year does a fire drill so kids know what they're supposed to do and the tornado. Every kid is gone to the area they're supposed to go with their teachers in their class. So, I mean it is practice at each site, if you look, it should say C36R in the polic I don't see an >> Right. It's in the policy book. It's not actually in the packet that was included. >> Okay. >> Our policy book actually has a regulation that addresses that in more detail. >> So, can a parent pick

up in response to a warning? >> A parent can pick up any time they want. So, I think that's part of what like my issue is with the paragraph is we talk about a tornado watch and that we won't take action on that. And then we go right into if a parent is concerned about the safety of a child, the child can be released to the parent. And then the very next sentence is a tornado warning is issued by weather bureau when a tornado has been cited. So, in reading this um like I I would maybe break this up and talk about watches warnings and maybe state something to the effect of in the event of a warning, we will follow what's on our website or something like that. And then below both of those

say parents have the ability to pick up their child in response to either one of these and we will release the child to the parent. Um, it just seems doesn't for me it doesn't really float. But if you guys are all happy with it, >> we have a motion to accept it. So, let's vote and find out if we are going to accept it or not. >> Well, she has a great point and that's I agree. I agree because >> but we have a motion on the floor to vote as is and a second. So, let's let's vote. >> I think we need to finish the discussion. >> That that determines my vote, right? Well, you're both. >> But if we were if we were to add something to that effect that the parent I

mean because obviously it's your child I've driven through hell to get to my child because I didn't want them at a school in the middle of a tornado. So I get it and I reminded them but at the same time would we then need to put in the policy however if that tornado comes are we allowing adults like it if keep goats in there. >> Are we going to allow adults in the storm shelters? >> Don't say let me finish. Are we going to allow if the tornado starts coming like are we allowing now parents to get in there because they're there at the same time to pick up their child when everybody's about to shelter in place or the storm shelter. So then are we adding it could go on forever because we could

come up with different scenarios but if a tornado starts coming when a parent is present at the school are we now also allowing parents or guardians say guardians into the storm shelters when they're ready. So would we need to put something in there for in in weather as far as however if a parent is concerned about the safety of the child shall be released to the parent but something happens when the parents say warning systems. >> So what should be the warning as far as everyone? >> Yeah, my my suggestion would be the table. I think we're almost there. I think maybe that last sentence may lead into the next paragraph. >> But when you get into inviting others into our school shelters, that goes against our >> insurance policy. I'm saying as in we

just need to put that in >> careful not to put that inside >> and in reality once we're in a warning and we're in shelters we're not releasing anybody. >> I mean we're not a we're not a valet surface at that point >> say we will follow policies that are you know as up and then that be the last sentence of that paragraph >> and do it expectation. We can do that and I would um ask that you table this and then when we write it up you guys review it before we come back to the >> So let's vote it down and we have a motion for you to vote it down and let them bring it back. >> Yes. >> Great discussion by the way. >> We're going to get it right. So

>> we've been forever. >> So you need to withdraw your vote. Just vote it down. >> It's called Okay. Let's vote. did not accept his policy. >> Nay, >> so now they take it back. >> So just a couple of questions on C37. Um, back under the safety, let's see, safety issues. Um, the committee shall meet once each semester. The school principal shall give consideration all of that. Are the schools doing this currently? >> Yes. >> Okay. I just want to clarify that. And then I just thought maybe we should probably remove the note down there about burning candles. Do we allow candles to be burned on school property? Okay. >> In fact, we pull them out when teachers have their class. >> There may be a rebel that burns one. >> Yeah. >> It

was just I I I was just thinking we might want to make that >> well what would happen if I may speak is sometimes when you lose power whatever happens sometimes might have a result of that. That was an absolute. >> What were you saying about the at the bottom. There's a note at the bottom of C37 >> and it talks about burning candles on school property and the state fire marshall and state department of ed are encouraging school districts to prohibit the burning of candles on school property. So I just if I mean if we're not allowed to >> taken out. >> Yeah, >> this is prohibited. We need to go just delete it. >> Yeah. >> But if it's not in the policy. >> Part of our policy is not just there for

insurance purposes, right? >> It needs to be there for insurance purposes, right? Because if somebody burns a candle and they're a whole school and there's no policy saying you can't >> burn a candle. >> Yes. So then we need to put in the policy the burning of candles are not permissible on Mell properties because that's not what it doesn't say. >> It says they're encouraging school districts to prohibit >> the burning of candles on school property. So like if we need to just make sure that we don't we put that in a policy. >> Do we need to make that number six under the safety guidelines or the safety issues? Does it fit there? And I'd have to go I'm sorry. I would have to go back and reread the policy. >> Okay. Do we

want to pull this one, too? >> Yeah. Can we table I make a motion to table C37. >> The uh B is safety issues and it has five different things that you're not allowed to do. So, we could add that as number six. >> But we're looking at the policy. So, here just add that. So >> I guess maybe the qu the first question is are candles prohibited on campus just globally? >> The answer is yes. >> Yes. >> Okay, great. They're not >> just just change add number six. >> You guys good with that? >> Well, we need a motion. >> Hang on. Time out. Because I'm looking at this and it says the committee will study and make recommendations to the school principal regarding a health issues and b safety issues. So, if

we add number six, no burning of candles, that would be does that fit there? And I just don't think it does. I mean, this I I don't know you guys. >> Then let's table it and bring it back. >> Bring it back. >> I make a motion to table policy C37. >> Second. >> Okay, let's vote on C37. I'm voting to table it. So my vote is no. >> The motion is to table. Okay. Well, yes. I >> confused. >> Schultz. >> I >> did. Well, I mean, >> sorry. I apologize. Next kind of what I do in my job, so stuff bounces out to me. So, on F4, I noticed um we there was a word person was struck through and changed to individual. Okay. Um, so there was the word person was changed

to individual, but then I noticed we had the word person throughout the policy. So my my concern or not even a concern is I would just like us to be consistent with the word person or persons versus individual. And there was a couple of other like just grammar grammar things in there. So, and I don't know. change person. >> Yeah, she's trying all the way across. >> Yeah. Okay. So, we have both. So, we can do a motion to accept the changes >> and then also check it for your medical things. There's some other you can take that. So I make a motion to uh update the word person to individual to be consistent with the policy and to correct the grammatical errors on that policy. We have a second. Any more discussion? Okay, let's

vote. >> Miss Schultz, >> I >> Dr. Daniels, >> hi. >> Dr. K. >> Hi, >> Miss Grant. >> Where we at? >> G31. Again, just a real quick on the second page of the policy under storage and security, uh, we talk about um not removing any equipment without prior written authorization. And I just thought it would probably be prudent to say written authorization from whom. Um, so that if someone needs authorization, they know who to go to. >> I'm sorry. >> Number five, storage and security. second bullet point. >> Uh, so that would probably have to be written authorization from >> I would just add that there. >> Not a name. >> Yeah. From the executive director of operations. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Do you need to put or >> whatever? And then under

accountability and enforcement, I think the computer got a little excited with bullet points. >> Yeah, it did. >> that's the only changes on that one. >> So, can we get a motion to approve with changes? >> Motion to approve with the changes discussed. >> Second. >> Let's vote. Dr. Daniels. >> Hi, >> Dr. Kirk. >> Hi, >> Miss Grant. >> Hi, Miss Schulz. >> I chair votes. >> G35. Um, so when I read this, um, G35 is the standards of performance and conduct for teachers. And I had a really hard time with this policy. And I feel like we need to rewrite it because it's a bunch of shall not, shall not, shall not. Shall nots are okay, but I really want to know what our standard of performance and conduct is for teachers. Like

what do we expect them to do? >> M Schultz, that came directly from the state department of education. It is copied exactly the way they asked us to do it. >> And it's a state department. >> It may change now that new leadership is at the state department of >> That's right. That's right. I just >> it is a it was >> when I read this I did not get a very good idea of what our standards of performance and conduct for teachers are. And so um I I just >> that might be something but she that comes from the state. >> It was ordered >> that we copy it that we shall copy it >> exactly the way the state department of education gave it to us. >> Okay. You may change. >> Somebody

want to make a motion. >> G35. >> Second. >> there's no leeway in this at all. Okay. I just >> I you know I'm sure you probably don't. >> I made a motion. Second. >> Second. >> Quick question. >> Yeah. So when they say we have to copy it as is to make sure we're covered by what they mandated, we have any room to add like and these are the things we do. I'm certain in terms of status for teachers >> under the previous leadership when it was ordered that you shall do what they say we do it so that we don't come under >> we're not on the radar >> but who knows what's going to happen that's correct >> main process question for me is you know they say make sure you include

these shall nots Okay, do those show notes. But we think teachers should also have these childs, right? You tell be a good person smile every day and you know we just add it to the policy. But if you say we have to make it verbatim and that's a process question, >> but if you add stuff in, is that putting us on the radar? >> I'm just ask these are both good questions. Who who knows? >> I don't want to be on the radar. >> I I just didn't know. Are we voting accept >> accept? >> Okay, Miss Grant. >> Hi, >> Dr. Daniels. >> I >> and the chair votes I. >> Okay, one more last one. Thank you guys. For J30, uh disrupting the learning environment. Um, when I got to the second page,

um, at the bottom it talks about actions that could be taken, detention and school restriction, suspension, and then it says in addition to any civil or criminal proceedings or prosecution. Um, and then other appropriate action. So, are we saying other appropriate action in response to civil or criminal proceedings? Is that is that how I mean that's how I read it too but I was >> sorry but >> on page two in addition to any civil or criminal proceedings or prosecution underneath that is other appropriate action. So are we saying other appropriate action in response to civil or criminal proceedings? >> I think they say in addition to they're saying in addition to that for example those whatever. >> So other appropriate action would that be something like removal from school sanctioned events like assemblies prom

>> if it's appropriate. if it's appropriate. >> Leaving it open to the school's hand. >> Okay. >> Move to approve 30. >> Second. >> I >> Dr. Daniels >> I >> and the chair votes I. >> Good discussion. Thank you. >> Yes. Thank you. >> Thank you, Dr. Ross. >> Great. >> Thank you. >> Okay. Item eight, vote to approve or not approve districtwide secondary coaching for 256 school year. Miss Brown. >> Yes. President Sandridge, members of the board, Dr. Cobb, I am requesting your approval to support the implementation of the PLC process at the secondary level using embedded coaching, which we've board approved before. The PLC coach that works with Del City High School will work alongside Mrs. Gilkkey to support the other secondary sites. We will monitor the embedded PLC coaching through documented

site visits thanks to our federal processes and procedures we have there, principal verification and regular feedback. Impact will be measured using PLC teamwork and student data with updates shared to ensure accountability and results. I appreciate your consideration. >> Move to approve. >> Second. discussion. >> Mine is not. I'm sorry, guys. I've refreshed. I've done everything. >> I think I >> No, it's not. It's I'm still I'm still on. Make sure you read your phone. It's automatically jumping. >> It keeps going back to >> I did that. I did. >> Watch this. I can hit follow again. Now it's coming up. Okay. Look what it does. >> Just >> Okay. Now, now watch this. >> Bring up the vote again, please. >> Okay. >> I did it. automatically when we hit follow. >> There we go.

Coming up. Okay. >> Thank you, dear. Okay, let's call it Dr. Daniels. >> Dr. Daniel. Okay. I >> Miss Schultz. >> I >> Miss Grant. >> You're welcome. Hello. >> Item nine, vote to approve or not approve anou between Midell Public Schools and the Midell Technology Center. >> Yes, President Standard, members of the board, and Dr. Cobb. This is something that we do yearly. We have since 2002. Uh it's a great opportunity we have here in Midell public schools where everything is under the same umbrella, but just to ensure everything is streamlined and we have intentional conversations, we still go back and have this conversation. So Miss Foster and I have talked through this making sure we're all on the same page. Um, a lot of our students are at the tech center and so

that they can be a part of a program they might take a math or science over there and so thisou just ensures that that student can count that math and science that they take there as their graduation requirement. Um, we have um, Miss Foster pulled numbers. We have 56 students taking pull out either science or math which is huge. Um, I I remember when we first when I first was a counselor I may have had one or two all year and so that's been phenomenal. and the instruction over there is is amazing. Um, and then this year we did add the partnership about our launch program that Miss Foster highlighted with our students that are over there as freshmen just more so um showing that not only is it an elective credit and it's getting

them on that career pathway. It will be a pathway unit which is upcoming new graduation requirements um kind of an elective in that pathway but it also allows them to not have to take freshman orientation. Um it's not a graduation class but that is where they go through IAP. So they have structured their curriculum to match that. So I ask for your approval on thisou. >> I move that we approve. >> But I have a question. >> Second. >> Is there if you read the screen, Dr. Kirk already made that motion and I approved it. >> Thank you so much for >> So I think we may have gotten ahead on our voting. >> Well, I still have a question. >> Perfect. I would love you to officially vote. >> I thought that was the

last one, >> but I will take any questions. >> It's fine. It's a Monday for fall break. >> Do you guys think that have you seen whether the students do better for them at the classes >> there versus at the at the actual school building, just being able to step away from the school environment, go across the street, take the classes there. Is there >> I mean, look at that. as a math teacher, a former high school math teacher, I uh our math teachers at the tech center collaborate with our math teachers at all three of our high schools. And so the curriculum, the standards, everything is still streamlined. Um and so Annie, I know goes and supports all of them and and they're all doing the same curriculum. So I would definitely not put

one over the other because I do think we work so collaboratively. And so I I don't think there's a huge difference. They are smaller class sizes in that pull out. So they are getting a little bit more one-on-one. Um so I think that would probably be the only um difference that sometimes could be a benefit >> that step away from the school into a different setting if that just heads like >> Yeah, that's step away from work and go somewhere else and work so much. >> Exactly. Well, and I think it does help our kiddos that are in that program. there was a, you know, maybe for a second they thought, well, I can't go be in that program because I still have this requirement. Well, because we allow them to do it over there,

there's more excitement because we're they're still getting to do their program, but also taking care of that requirement. So, and they're not having to go back and forth. They're not having to give that program up. So, I think then the students have a little bit more investment, I would say, in that because they're allowing to to get to do both, which is huge. >> More opportunities. the first to do that. He did calculus at the center. >> Yeah. We're not talking just just straight, you know, algebra 2 or I mean, we have advanced students over there >> that are taking highle courses. >> But since we already voted for you, >> I know. I know. >> It's back again. You get to revote. >> Wait, wait. You get to reote. >> There we go. >>

Thank you again. >> I want to make sure >> I'm trying to jump ahead. >> Okay. Item 10. Vote to approve or not approve a blanket purchase order to OKC Food Hub for 25,000. >> Yes, President Sandra, members of the board, Dr. Cobb, I'm asking for your approval for a blanket purchase order to OKC Food Hub. They are a um kind of a middleman between us and local farmers. So, they actually deliver straight to our school sites. Any discussion? Item 11, vote to approve or not approve artist to provide and install HVAC system upgrades at PLC at DCS at Midwest Midwest City High School. President standard members of the board, Dr. Cobb, I would just like to your approval for upgrading the Hback. Both of those systems are well, half of them are not working

currently and the other half very elderly. >> Move to approve. >> Second. >> Did we not just just construct these new performing art facilities? >> The facilities were renovated. The Hback was not touched. >> I could do the same thing happen to call out. >> Uh no, that system is newer. So it is still >> these are the >> And they didn't do the seats either, remember? >> We just redid the seats. I think they got a >> place to show up. This is just crazy. >> Item 12, vote to approve or not approve artist to provide rooftop HVAC design and installation to the gyms at Del City High School and Carl Albert High School. >> So this is um similar project the gymnasiums at high school. In this case, we're actually going to try a couple of different >> move to approve. >> So, do we jump the other buses? >> The ones they're replaced and we've jumped them. Are you going to auction? >> Okay. And this is prior complacing route buses. I'm not liking this. to approve or not approve Jag assets LLC to provide and install new fencing at high school. >> So this is part of our

tennis court project high school. This is just the fencing. We split the fencing and the repavement and resurfacing history. This is just Move to approve. >> Second. >> Is this also conducive for the other two high schools for their tennis? >> Sorry. >> The other two tennis courts in Colorado High Midwest City High School. >> They've done already this. >> Yeah, the Midwest. Great. >> We did. Item 16, vote to approve or not approve to resurface six tennis courts at Del City High School. >> So this will be a resurfacing of the tennis courts at Del City High School. The other two high schools have been reser resc >> and this will resurface all of their tennis courts to approve. >> Good. >> Okay. >> Is there a reason why you want to try another

process? Does something happen at the other two high schools? >> Uh we're hoping to get a better result. Uh this is this is a process that we'll do hope we do a better job of sealing cracks and giving us better players playing service for a longer period of time. So, are you saying that there's cracks in the other two high schools of tennis courts as a result of that vent door? >> Yes. >> So, with that in mind, are we going to correct those? >> Um, we have some litigation. >> Okay. I see. >> That's good. >> We're switching. >> It is now. >> It's good that you found it. We're switching. So, >> yeah. I couldn't think of another way to say it either. So, yeah, that's a fine response. >> Thank you, doctor.

>> Okay. >> Yeah. >> It looks good from a from a farm. Item 17, vote to approve or not approve MTC's marketing plan for 2526. President Stan, members of the board, Dr. We bring before you our annual marketing um plan that we are required to bring to the board by Oklahoma Department of Crow. >> Move to approve. >> Second. >> So I just want to say the marketing plan today. I know you don't like it, but the market plan looks great. Um just you know as I was thinking of what about this, what about this and I read more it was like always there right? So you covered all the bases um >> and I do want to thank my marketing director Heather Tyson and then executive director Blake McCrab who I'm not going to

take um >> all the credit. >> Well you guys did a great job. >> They have a great leader. You guys did a great job. I like the plan. And I mean I think it's you know getting getting this in front of the students is one fact that we're you know I've said this in the past that you know we got the best kept secret in you know in a school district having a career tech having the option of yes we prepare for college but we also have the uh career ready aspect right in our own backyard and who's better to benefit from that from our own students who are captive audience I think I say so you guys are doing a great job at least getting them in getting them interested and in the

marketing plan just trying to reach you know just the modern day right the digital age you know how do we hit social media how do we hit the you know old paper you know family you know family time that you see at the restaurant so you know good plan I just I hope that you know we'll see the fruits of this and that you have a different problem a growth problem right so anyway you love it >> good job >> growth problem so Move to >> approve. >> Okay. Item 18, vote to approve or not approve changes to the Midell Technology portion of D17 district organizational chart. >> Um, like we talked in the presentation, this is just approval of an updated organizational chart. I I I love this district and you guys know these shows. >> Thank you so much. Item 19, vote to approve or not approve all actions recommended in the human resources. Miss Houston, President Sandridge, members of the board, and Dr. Cobb. The first item we have is our just monthly recommendations to hire and some resignations and things along those lines. >> Move to approve. Second, >> give us an update for all. If I could keep them from I should just remove the resignation link. Um there it's okay. We're still okay. Um we obviously we still have some positions that we want to get filled. A couple critical ones

if you will. We still have a mental health specialist we're wanting to get. Um I believe Megan, we didn't get that one yet, did we? Yeah. So she's still working on that one, but that's okay. Um she's making do with what she has. So, um I I think we're doing okay. I think we're doing okay. >> Thank you. >> And you know, life happens. So, we have people life changes. We just want to we just want to prevent people from wanting to leave because they're not happy. >> Yeah. And most of them are unique situations. Maybe they're moving or and some of them are, hey, this wasn't what I thought it was going to be. And I would respect that. I I would I would rather and let's try to co coach you up, but

if not, I would rather you be honest about it and let's move on and figure >> that career tech. >> Absolutely. Absolutely. >> It looks like our uh resations are less than our new. >> Yeah. >> We have a we have a rule in education. We never say, "Man, this has been a calm day." She was holding a support role and she came in and she said, "But I took my test and I think and we had multiple conversations and I said, "Have you ever thought about teaching? I mean, I can get you in a classroom." And she said, "I have, but I don't know." And so we talked a little bit longer and then Heather came in and kind of talked about the options and she went back to Miss Patterson at Midwest City High School and they had a great conversation and voila, we we're getting a teacher. She's certified in business because that's what her transcript allowed her to be certified in and but I I think there's going

to be great things from this person. She I see her as being a teacher of the year one of these days pretty quick. So pretty proud of her. >> Second.
