I. >> Any opposed? >> All right. Again, we appreciate that >> school recognition. >> Yeah, I just have one um just like to recognize Mr. Snder from Northfield. Like to recognize uh Elijah G or Gail, sorry, Elijah Gail. Congratulations to his

sixth place finish at 175 pounds at the state wrestling tournament this last past weekend. Eli had a 50 and3 record on the season. Uh and so two of those losses would have been on the that Saturday. uh and he was able to bring home a medal for boys wrestling for the first time at NHS since 1990. Eli went two and two at the state tournament. So, congratulations to Eli uh and a great guy. >> I have that was short. All right. We appreciate that and congratulations to Eli. I know he puts in a lot of work out there. Public comment agenda items only. If we have no comments, we'll move on to our agenda items. We need to get a motion and a second to approve our regular meeting minutes February 10th. So move. >>

Got a motion and a second to approve those minutes. All in favor say I. >> I. Opposed. Uh financial report claims and payroll number 15. >> Yep. Uh both uh again are pretty well in line. No surprises on payroll order claims. Glad to answer any questions if you're ready. I'll do my best. >> I'll try. >> I didn't have any questions. You guys see anything? Motion to second claims payroll number 15. So move motion second. All those in favor claims and payroll say I. Any >> opposed? Motion passes. Financial summary. All right. Our 2026 cash flows uh for education and operations fund. Um, again, I'll be glad to answer any questions. It's kind of our first uh I guess my first go at fresh cash flows for a new year. So, u a lot of

help from Dr. this put together and there might see some tweaks uh in the next month or or so. Uh we will be talking about specifically for the education fund uh coming up soon. We'll have to uh submit our estimates for fall ADM. So depending on once we get together and and have those discussions, some of the the revenue numbers for the education fund may change a little bit. But really, as far as as far as that goes, that's obviously the only thing I can anticipate that might change at this point. reserve the right to make changes. >> All right, there's no questions or concerns on the financial summaries cash flows. We'll move on to HR. resignations. >> Goes, >> we have a resignation of Julie Gogleski as a cook at Southwood High School. That's

effective 320. And then Emily Gibson as a cook at Northfield High School and that's effective 225. Employment. Tabitha Klene, assistant tennis. Uh, Southwood High School affected immediately. These look like they're all affected immediately at Southwood. Um, Amy Powell, Clay Target for Southwood or Northville High School. All in favor say I. >> Any opposed? Motion passes. Reports. Hartland. Anything new there, Matt? >> A couple things. U if you like Wix pies. >> Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Cosmetologies cosmetology is having a fundraiser. So if you know some kids in that might look for that. Um CDL class it will start March 2nd and they have 12 12 students in it and one paying on their own because they had enough funds for 12. They did a selection and one was willing to pay extra to be into that class. Um that's a student student. Yeah. Um under donations, Mr. Monty Martin

gave some machinery equipment, machining equipment. His uh brother passed away and he brought a bunch of tools in there to help machining. Uh they didn't put a value on that. Jason Lucas donated some poly material for classes and Rod Brewaker uh office supplies value of $3,000 and under building trades. Mr. Hooer had his resignation in. He pulled his resation so he will continue. Should a building Yeah, it's huge. Yes, it is huge. Um and then the big elephant in the room, we approved the >> the hope is that the advisory committee is used heavily. >> Okay. >> How many? There were several on that committee. I believe >> three major ones. >> Three major. >> So We get thrown in the deep end. Let's see what happens. >> And that's basically it. All right. >>

Report. Okay. Um well, just wanted to start off with just a a project update. Have a new video uh in relation to uh the projects that are happening at Northfield and Metro North. Uh so we'll go ahead and watch that. Heat. Heat. N. Nice. Thank you, Jesus. got a few things that have been uh Scott mentioned that the floor has been poured now at this point and so that was captured in the video. So obviously continued work can be done there. Um everything's still on schedule. Looks good. Looking forward to getting that white stuff off the ground at some point with no more snow hopefully. Uh but yeah, things are going well as far as that's concerned. Uh just to give you a little update on the Southwood projects. Um I think I kind of

gave you a schedule of a time frame, but just wanted to kind of um remind you that uh advertisements for bids will start going out here middle of March. Um we'll have a pre-bid meeting uh on March 24th. Uh bids will be due uh April 14th. uh then we'll go through a review of those and then look for final board approval uh on the April 28 board meeting. Now, right now that's the current timeline for just Southwood Elementary. They're still working on what Southwood High School may look like. It may be similar uh or it may be pushed back a little bit. uh in in that case uh you know the latest that it would go to as far as board approval for the high school uh would be that last board meeting in May

since we only have the one uh but it may work out that they can get everything in related to that last one in April but they're still working out some of those details. So we're getting close close to the the um stretch on on those bids. Uh lastly, just kind of talk quickly a little bit about legislation. Again, this is the last week. Uh the general assembly is will try to conclude at the end of this week. Uh so we'll see uh where they get with that. Uh but hopefully this was their plan to finish up by the end of this week. Uh the big one, and I've mentioned this before, is the Belltobell cell phone ban. Uh that is most likely going to pass. Uh and it will require us to adopt a rule

on whether we prohibit devices completely from school or that we allow the devices to be powered off and inaccessible by students uh during the day in some type of storage policy like lockers or something like that. Uh and so uh those will be some decisions that we'll have to make uh once that law gets finalized. Um related to that I I mentioned to you before about a a school technology bill uh related to just having uh parents having the ability to control filters when students are not in school. Um that has died that would not get a reading. uh so that not move on. I don't know if it'll show up somewhere else in these next few days. Uh but that one is um dead. And then um HB1 1210 again the language to allow

that lit revenue delay for another year is still in there. So um that would impact instead of 2028 and 2029. And then another bill that I thought I would mention to you guys uh is House Bill 1242. Uh this bill would require the Indiana Department of Education to create a report on multiple different financial and academic aspects of public schools in the state of Indiana with the goal of making recommendations to increase administrative efficiencies, reduce administrative costs, and improve student outcomes. Um, it will also add language for the Department of Local Government and Finance to work with the Department of Education to conduct a study of the disparities in per student operational funding amounts in school corporations. And so, um, some of the data that they'll be asking for are the total number of school

corporations in Indiana, the segregated by county population, the number of school corporations and charter schools per county, the number of students enrolled in each school corporation charter school. Um they will also uh make recommendations to increase school corporation and charter school administrative efficiencies, reduce school corporation charter school administrative costs and improve student outcomes. So obviously that goal will or that that study will be used to u produce legislation for the next cycle of legislation bills whatever that may come to. And so I thought I would share that with everybody just so they understand it. And then just for fun, if you're a Chicago Bears fan, Senate Bill 27 moving the Bears to Hammond, Indiana. So we'll see how that goes. >> Indiana Bears. >> Hammond Bears. >> Hammond. >> Interesting story though, I guess. And

I didn't realize this. Hammond, Indiana is where she the Bears start and originated. So yeah, that's where they're >> coming back home where started. So maybe they're coming back home. Never know >> this part of education people >> the amount a billion dollars that Indiana's gonna >> leave us alone. >> How much is that billion dollars? Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Okay. That's all I have. >> All right, Tim. You have anything? >> Um, I just have to follow up. You should be aware that when they say the word administrative cost, that doesn't always mean what people assume it means. I think they include support staff, they include other staff that aren't considered administrative. So, it it conflates it all. It is such a mess. So, >> and they already did an administrative study. Nothing came

out of it. because the study proved that actually there was so um we're on the tip of our testing season. So nothing really official report just I read's coming up SAT days are coming up and then after spring break so that's all coming up and Saturday morning is a high school robotics tournament at Northfield. So have a chance if you got some time Saturday morning to buy see some pretty cool robots that uh our teams our high school kids in design competing against other high schools. >> They had one last weekend at the elementary and there was about 40 teams there. So it was pretty pretty busy. >> Yeah. That's it. All right. Appreciate you guys the information you guys bring to our meetings. We'll move on to new business. >> Okay. So, a few

weeks ago I said we weren't going to have >> before I even brought it up. >> Redo. >> Yes. Take two on this one. So, the issue was that Dr. Coon's name was not addressed in the corporate authorization resolution that we that you guys uh approved two weeks ago. So, the bank didn't know what to do with it. So, it didn't specifically say please remove his name. And then in the part where it says these people are the signers, his name was not on there either. So, this one adds Southwood Elementary's new uh ECA treasurer, Adrien Gomez, and myself to the account, removes Kristen Cunningham, and Dr. and then the list of the authorized signers becomes Adrien Gomez, Casey Ster, and myself. And so, this one should >> All right. need to get a recommendation

to approve the revised corporate author authorization resolution. So move second. Got a motion, a second to approve this revision. All in favor say I. I. >> Any opposed? >> Recommendation to salvage bus number 61. >> Yeah. Does that does that mean this first time I'm presented with Yeah. I usually approval for items we salvage. >> So >> a motion second to approve the rec to approve the salvage of bus number 61. All in favor say I. >> I. >> Any opposed? >> Uh recommendation to approve extended day field trip for Sharp Creek fifth grade to Chicago, Illinois, April 17th. So move second. >> Got a motion and a second to approve the Sharp Creek field trip. All in favor say I. Any opposed? And the last one is a recommendation to approve field trip for

Southwood High School choir to compete in the ISSMA state competition in Annapolis February 21st. So very done. Hopefully well. But we g a motion to approve that we were happy with it. >> So >> all in favor say I. >> I. >> Any opposed? Motion passes. That was unfinished business. Board policy. We got a second reading from last week. Second reading and a vote to update the board policy 6160 capital asset threshold from 5,000 to 10,000. Anybody have any questions from last week or last meeting what that was? Motion a second to approve that. Motion to approve. Second. We got a motion, a second to approve board policy 6160, move the capital asset threshold from 5,000 to 10,000. All in favor say I. >> Any opposed? Motion passes. Public comment items from board members. >>

When we mentioned the cell phone a little while, we'll have to enact that into board policy. Then we'll have an actual >> I I don't know if it has to actually come in. So that so the DOE will have to the DOE will be uh supposed to be giving us um policy related to that. I don't know if it necessarily has to be enacted in our board policy or just in our handbooks because a lot of times when we adopt those things in the handbooks, they become part of our policy. Uh, so I don't know. I don't know if we'll have to necessarily do that or do the handbook >> for certain in the handbook. >> Yeah. But they're supposed to give us example policy. Sometimes the hard part about it is like the law

doesn't go in effect until July 1. Well, the example polic This is what happened last year with the attendance. It goes in July one. The example policy doesn't come out till close to August. So then you don't >> Yeah. So then it's like it's already passed and so last year we just made an amendment with our attendance policy after the fact. So >> if there's variations in compliance the approach to complying you guys recommendations. >> Yeah. Currently at Hartland every classroom has a thing on the door. Every kid puts their thing in during the class and they pull it out. Is that something that could be? >> It could be. The hard part about that is they switch classes so much more than that. Like at Heartland, they're there for that three hours or whatever

uh for that class. And I know some classes do have that where kids because right now the the rule or the law is that they're not supposed to have them and use them in the classroom uh for non-instructional purposes. And so there are some classrooms that already have that in there that kids put it in when they come in. Uh but according to this, the kids are not supposed to have access to it at all during the day, right? >> And so that would just mean they have to transport it from one class to another and then so then now you're monitoring that. >> So really it's it's they just need to keep it in one spot for the day. you say that of course there will be exceptions with diabetics and like >> a

dual credit class emails have to be dual authenticated and so all of my students that do an IU class when they log in it will send them a code to their phone. So there will be lots of those things that will come up. So we have a lot of diabetics, a lot of >> people will sign up for the class now. >> A lot of doctors. >> Well, I I I know it it will be better. I know. I mean because you know I get reports and I know what my own kids you know do and say and it's like they they need not to be distracted when teachers are trying to do their job. >> So teachers. >> All right. Anybody else have any questions for anyone? >> If not we'll journ.
