002for the opportunity we pray God that all that we do will glorify you we pray it in Jesus name amen amen thank you our future board meetings uh we don't have another one till April 23rd then the next one's May 28th and then June 11th all those are at 6:00 here at the administration revision to this uh agenda there just one H one under HR um public we have any public we just have a few things that were submitted so I'll go Ahad and start with that so from Southwood Junior Senior High School uh Mrs Lewis put in Southwood was awarded $1,500 to the growing uh together Grant which will go towards Southwoods outdoor Garden setup thanks to car Sol met Community Wellness coordinator with the new extension nutrition education program that's a big one
003who assisted Southwood and obtaining this funding so we want to thank her and thank Southwood for starting that program also then um Mrs Moore from Metro North and South Elementary being preschool uh our Metro North little Norris preschool and our South Elementary little kns preschool were recognized as past equality level number three ptq level three recognizes our preschools commited to ensuring a high quality early learning environment in which children are safe healthy and learning thank you to all our little Norse and little KN staff for um compiling paperwork and tasks ensure our success completing these processes provides our families with access to tuition support like on my pre on my way prek and ccdf vouchers so we really appreciate them working to get to that ptq level three a lot of paperwork involved in that
004but then also it does help our families across the district and then from Northfield Mr Snider one2 says our Northfield robotics teams had a fantastic day last Saturday at the state meet our seventh grade team made it to the semifinals and teamwork and receiv received a trophy they placed 12 in the state and skills our eighth grade team made it to the state finals and also received a trophy they tied for third in the state in skills the eighth grade team of Colin Bal Nate Hudson meline Holly H Gavin Lester Carson Brown and Preston Moore earned the privilege of heading to the world competition in Dallas Texas in April these kids dream B and worked hard and represented norfield very well and also it was mentioned norfield senior Lane Denton entered his welded um sculpture
005medal on with child in the iuk high school art contest Lane was awarded the People's Choice Award from iuk for his work this work was chosen due to receiving the most votes from visitors of the iuk gallery during his Year's High School Art Exhibit so I want to congratulate all them I want to mention a little bit more about the robotics um so this is interesting information last year we had several teams that made it to world but because of all the things that are going on in the world with robotics and stem there are a lot more teams that are involved so it makes the competitition even um stiffer and so I want to share that this is Elementary this is interesting so in 2023 and we're going to compare 2024 there were 1,200
006Elementary teams in the state of Indiana this this year there were 1,600 Elementary teams and so going to State there were 134 that went to the state so this year there 151 went to state but this is where it gets really interesting because of how many teams that there are in the United States um going to World in Indiana Al for Indiana last year there were 84 World bids that went and this year there only 22 so you had a lot more teams that were involved with the robotics in the state of Indiana um a lot more that were at the state but only 22 bids compared to 84 so that's very and then the the junior high would be very similar to that and so we did have the one team that is actually
007going to worlds in April so I want to congratulate them that's all I have that's it all right public comment agenda items only nothing all right uh agenda items approval of the minutes uh of our regular meeting that was took place March 12th I get a motion for a second move second I got a motion a second to approve those minutes all those in favor say I I any oppose all right passes uh approval of financial report uh claims anybody have any questions on claims Airborne Athletics was that weight equ near the top I that's what is it called 8900 that's just curious oh that looks like that was something for athletics Dr dish rebel I imagine it's a one of those basketball machines I'm guessing yeah see we got security system and all that
008and IPS y That's all coming out here y all right um I [Music] a all right got a motion of second for claims all those in favor say I I opposed payroll nothing payroll I think I told you this before I mean we this pay will reflect a lot of our spring coaches pay we'll have a little bit of that as well for our winter coaches sorry um we'll have a little bit of that as well um in the next payroll trying to come in all right motion to approve all right second got a motion and second uh to approve payroll all those in favor say I no opposed all right thank you Financial summary Chris uh just give me cash flow update uh reflecting January and February uh costs uh educ ation fund not
009really much to talk about we'll have a little bit of change in education fund as we should see those uh reconciliations for the February ADM count um just don't know what those dollars will look like exactly so um that will be a plus benefit on our side because we had an increased ADM account so not much there on education fund operation fund um just wanted to highlight a few things on there for you just um a lot of the expenses that I highlight on there as we look into the future um are some expenses that we can reimburse ourselves back for out of some of these projects that's a decision that we can make U at another point in time but I just kind of want to identify those areas for you uh because those
010are costs that um we're paying uh without the bond yet so without bond we could re that requires some longer term plan what to do y but I just wanted to highlight those areas for you I think we talked about this ear on I tried to go out and kind of put best estimates out there as far as what I knew we were going to be spending in some of these projects that we're working on um but I wanted to highlight those ones that might be specific uh to uh projects that are established for the 2024 Bond isance have any questions on that additional expenditures all right we'll move on to uh uh personal recommendations for an HR report see we have under resignation uh Melissa Brooks as a cook at Southwood High School effective
011311 Lauren math teacher at Southwood High School um effective 314 and I'm just going to make a note of that one that's the one that um South would actually her um early on um well not early on but this calendar year I believe um and she was going to have to move from um around the Indianapolis area and she then basically and this wasn't going to start until next year so and then she decided that she was unable to be able to move up here so she had to um apply her resignation for that so she never got started but just to keep a paper trail of hiring somebody and then resigning went ahead and put that for that under employment Ashley Campbell has a temporary teacher at Southwood Elementary uh April 26th and end
012on the 2324 school year uh transfer Abby Watkins transferring from metr North kindergarten teacher to Shark Creek fourth grade teacher effective for the next school year 2425 and then under retirement Barry um Boyer as the Dina students out and they're whites um he's retiring at the end of this year and another retirement is that right one or is that leave that's just a leave yeah okay we got leave uh 174 leave uh to begin April 27th and returning approximately October 21st 2024 questions there get a motion in a second to accept HR report second motion a second for the HR report all those in favor say I any oppose all right if I could talk a little bit about Mr Boer Mr Boer I did see him today and I told him that I was
013going to recommend that you not approve his uh retirement but we're just being serious about that but anyway I want to talk a little bit about when I was um principal at White's Junior Senior High School Barry was actually the residential one of the residential coordinators he did an excellent job as a residential coordinator uh when I moved on then to Northfield uh Troy f short became the principal and then he hired Mr Boer as the DEA student and that started was in 2011 and so um appreciate all the work that he's done since 2011 and before that he'll definitely be missed but we appreciate all the the work he has done um he did a great job working with the students um there at White Junior Senior High School so just wish him well
014in his retirement thank you all right under report looks like Matt's not here unless Josh wants the spot heart career center well I could but I [Music] won't Mr key fav I I want to mention something about Barry I was going to say something about the robotics but that's already been mentioned and highlighted by the principles and then also just reminder that um our spring break uh for MSD uh starts on Friday or actually I guess for the most part Thursday at 3:15 for the students and then just a reminder I will be putting out an call um either wed either tomorrow or Thursday I think I have on my calendar for Thursday just a reminder to everyone that on April 8th when we return uh we're going to do an early release for the
015solar eclipse and so that's already been put out there the information's been put out a lot of different places but people might forget about that so we will put out an all call just remind everyone that will be doing that so that's what all had for what were they going to do for practices 5 o' they won't um they're not allowed to start practic until 5m so they'll come back okay Mr Drake anything for nothing formal we're just in the thick of things we just wrapped up sat testing and I testing and waeda testing and I learn testing when we came back um lots of professional development going on it's just it's that time of year and so after spring break I feel like our world goes lightning fast so I think senior parents probably
016feel that as much as the rest of us but just super busy things are going well all right like we have one item under new business uh recommendation to approve a vendor for the tennis court project any information on that yes so um last Friday we had our bid openings for the tennis court projects at Norwood andwood uh we had three biders um and so um we kind of separated out the base bids a little bit but they could also submit them as a combined bid but we um the bids we would recommend got and Suns uh to do the work at both Northfield and Southwood T Court projects um once you approve them then we can set up meeting times as far as when those projects would eventually get started we do have some
017time uh because they won't get started till after the tennis season they don't have to be completed until next tennis season but obviously we want those to be done probably before the winter sets in U but they might be able to get those started as early as this summer with that but we haven't established all those details yet but from a cost perspective do Suns came in at $1.1 million to that include demo and everything the Southwoods being moved we're not going to move it not moving we'll be in the same spot demo that up and put it right back do you think do you anticipate relief Northfield for y and adion U ility we'll have to we'll have to have some conversations to work those details out but they they've already they are already
018aware but we didn't know who aend was going to be at this point in time so so where as far as there may be a year delay or so in the deconstruction no they'll they'll have to work around each other in some capacity that's been mentioned in the meeting so any questions on on this bid I'll make a motion to approve G SS for the tennis court projects all right a motion and second to approve the recommendation to approve the vendor for the tennis court as gotten Sun asphalt all those in favor say I any opposed all right motion passes any unfinished business board policy public comment we got the next 45 minutes you wouldn't want us to do that we could probably come up with something all right any items from board members all
019right weour
