001for it stands nationy and justice for I'd like to start out with fin Second item 103 to 610 and approving the agenda. Any opposed? Carries. Uh let's next move on to board minutes and adoption or approval of those. >> Mr. Chair, like to make a motion to approve the meeting minutes as presented. >> Thanks, Scott. Have a motion. Do I have a second? >> I'll second. >> Thanks, uh, any discussion on the minutes? I have a motion to approve. All in favor? >> Any opposed? Motion carries. Moving on to community input, public participation. Uh Laura, do we have any? >> We do not. >> Okay. Thank you. Moving on to item three, correspondence. IMESD talking points and >> Yes. Good evening. In your board packet are the IMESD board talking points which outline the region's
002graduation rate and some data around that. Again, uh county or I'm sorry, the Intermount ESD had the top graduation rate in the state for its components districts, the average of its component districts. So, that's very exciting. And they've given you a few statistics here. Um, two of the districts in the IMESD were in Oregon's top 10. They only looked at districts with more than 50 students in a graduating class, but Milton, Freewater, and Mororrow County were in the top 10 in the state. So, again, just am proud of the work that our region does uh educating kids. >> Great. Thank you. was a nice handout they presented. Appreciate that. >> Moving on to item four, 4.1, facilities report. Is Mr. Glover here? >> He's not, but he sent me a few items. First, he said
003the grass is growing, so that will take up all of his time for the next three months. He said the pig barn is coming along. They're pouring uh pouring concrete this week and then doing electrical. They're setting up for all spring sports, working with the city to uh make sure our softball field is in good shape and irrigated. And they're hiring contractors to add a second shot pit at the track and build a baseball fence before uh next Tuesday's home game. So, right now, I think it's all about the multitude of spring sports for our maintenance team. >> Great. Thank you. Maybe. >> All right, two transportation boards. Tom, >> hello everyone. Um, let's see here. As far as transportation goes, I don't have a time to share with you. Uh, the students continue to
004get to school on time and back home. Um, IPM, you'll have an item later on for approval. I'm asking to add something to our low end pack list. What I intend to use this spring to attack the dandel. Um it's pretty basic and straightforward. It meets all the qualifications to be added to the list and it's uh what I feel best product available right now and ready for use in spring. It's the safest option, the easiest to buy. Uh and that's why I went with that and want to have added the list. Um I'm currently in the process of refurbishing the school spray equipment and sprayer equipment for both herbicides and fertilizers in the spring. I make it my personal mission to keep grass as busy as possible. The grass growing as much as that's
005really all I have to to say about what I have foration. >> Excellent. Thank you. Any discussion? >> Looking forward to lush green grass this spring. Moving on to port 3 preschool elementary. Carrie, >> good evening. So, we are still fully enrolled at preschool and our kiddos are starting to, as the weather's warming up, enjoy the outdoors. They always love to be outside and learning. Still very busy with our weekly garden lessons. Um, four-year-olds, they're getting ready to go to kindergarten. So, Miss Monica's really working on focusing on those pre kindergarten skills and and getting them ready for sitting for longer periods of time and and being a little bit more independent. uh kindergarten through fourth grade. We had our terrific Tiger Scots uh assembly earlier last last week and March we're looking for we're
006focusing on the character trait of honesty. So we spent a lot of time talking about that and teachers and staff will be looking for kiddos who are really going above and beyond with that trait for the month of March. Our mile club, we have few kids who are already getting close to 100 miles and some of them are our younger kids. So, that's a lot of miles for those those little legs um that they're out there just running away. Um we do have a team for Oregon Battle of the Books that next Saturday I will be taking up to Baker City for the regional competition and we're nervous but excited and it'll be a learning curve for all of us. I think last week we celebrated ReadAcross America with um dress up themed days around
007Dr. Seuss books and literacy activities. Last week we also had a in the classroom. So our high school FFA students came over and they do an amazing job. They divide and conquer and they go into each of the grade levels. So at kindergarten they made their own butter. They all had their own containers to shake um and make butter with and teachers have decided maybe they need to make butter every day because they listened to a story while they were making their butter and they were very intent attentive with the story. Um then they got to spread their butter on some bread and have it with jam as well. First grade got to make ice cream which was right up their alley because that is a very hands-on learning group. They like to be active.
008It was very very noisy with plastic peanut butter containers and ice and and rolling them back and forth and shaking them and it was the whole building knew what they were doing. Um but they were very excited. Second grade is another favorite is they always make turf babies. So they use panty hose and soil and grass seed. Tie it in a knot, put a face on it, put it in a cup with the little tail, and then they add water and then it'll start growing hair. They do measurements and they can give them haircuts and that's always a very popular one. Third grade made fruit salad, learning about different uh fresh fruits. And fourth grade learned um about making a dip that was healthy, so it was yogurt based. And then they got to enjoy
009that with some vegetables and um crackers. We've got flags for first graders coming in the next couple weeks. So, the Pendleton's L Pendleton Lions Club will come out and they bring a flag for each of our first graders and kids learn about the American flag and the meaning behind it and patriotism. Uh, third through fifth grade, they're getting ready for the linkup concert which is starts the Monday. They will go the Monday after spring break and it's recorder season. So, second, third, and fourth are Oh, third and fourth, sorry, are all playing recorders um in the library every Friday. They Mrs. Webb makes it about half an hour, ladies, before those doors slide close. Yeah. Um kids love it. As staff, we've been really talking about math, looking at our math scores, and discussing ways
010to really beef up math so that we can increase um students meeting and being in the grade level band on math garden. They are making seed snails where you it's a space-saving indoor gardening technique to germinate large quantities of seeds. So, that is their project they're starting this week and we are gearing up for kindergarten recruitment. We we want to come back from spring break and really get that message out there and and um so that we can have the best numbers possible that we know is coming instead of in August. Well, that's what's going on at at the elementary. >> Great. Thank you. Any discussion? >> Recorders might only be on Friday at school, but they are every day >> every day in your >> Well, you know, lucky you. Uh, moving on to
011Weston Middle School. 4:04 p.m. >> Well, it's spring, so it starts to get exciting at Weston Middle School. We had uh girls basketball, wrestling, and snow club wrap up. Uh, few weeks ago, snow club did get all of their um ski sessions in, which was good. And then track will begin after spring break for 6th through 8th grade. Fifth grade will visit the foundry this Friday for a field trip and then we are doing another round of six sessions of our mentor program with some of our community members and that will actually start this Friday and run through the first Friday in May. In academics um our one school one book project concludes next week. Our big culminating event will actually be on Monday and students uh will participate in multi-age discussion groups about the
012book. They're going to get to um interact with a scuba diving instructor and they're going to uh hear from a search and rescue speaker. Again, the book was about the rescue of the Thai soccer team in the cave. They'll do an art project that coordinates with language arts. And then in the afternoon they will start their writing performance task where they all have the same essay question and they all begin their essay. And then on Friday they will watch um a movie about the rescue. And that will be for students who do a thorough well done graphic organizer. And again we focus heavily on the planning of their writing because that leads to good writing. So that's why we reward the thorough well done graphic organizer. Uh we had a fantastic FFA assembly for grades
0135 through 8 on the 27th of February. They did games and relay races in the gym and gave them information about a and FFA. Our seventh grade students have been studying plants and photosynthesis and sixth and seventh grade art classes are designing anomod poetic graphics. So words like pow or craft. So if you think of like the old Batman show where they would have those um words with the loud kind of um pop art decor. those classes are are working on those projects and I just really appreciate how our art teacher incorporates language arts when we are focused as a whole school on the one school one book. So one of the emphasis in that project is figurative language and she is tying that in in her art class. >> And then fifth grade is
014tackling decimals, fractions and percents and how to convert from one to another. And that is a huge foundational skill and a big leap for fifth graders and they are working diligently on knowing how to do that in math class. And then just in general as a staff, we're continuing to review our winter ready data and adjust our strategies with a big push toward our spring testing. And then just um an FYI, this Saturday at six o'clock is the Weston Citizens Dinner and they will be honoring two Western Youth Citizens of the Year. They started that a few years ago and I really appreciate their interest in Weston kids and so I nominate eth graders each year that exhibit the qualities that they're looking for in good citizens. And then there will be an educator. So
015if you are interested and would like to buy a ticket, I will be there. And it's just a great chance to hear about of course our great teachers, but also our great middle school citizens. So that's always a nice event in the spring for us. >> Great. Thank you. Any discussion? All right. move on to five Western High School or Western Muan High School. >> Good evening. We have had a busy busy month so far. So, um, a couple highlights from recent visits into classrooms. Our freshmen are in their personal finance section of Freshman Success and are doing the budget challenge. And I think they're all realizing they will not be buying new cars when they turn 16. They they got some panic going on in there. Uh sophomores are reading station 11 in English
016language arts. Juniors were learning about the dangers of fentanyl in health class. And then seniors are comparing transcendentalism versus romanticism in English as well as also getting a touch of personal finance in that econ class. So, I think they're realizing as well that maybe you need a roommate when you first move out of your parents house. >> Uh, we also did our errands law lessons this last week. Moving Oh, and then today was um SAT for about a dozen students. And moving into a couple weeks from now, we'll have our spring break academy coming up, which is four days. Again, there are four hours per day for either those struggling in current classes or needing to make up credit recovery. Hoping to catch some of those freshmen that might be veering towards off track or
017any seniors that are starting to realize graduation is only nine 10 weeks away. Couple pieces. Again, they spoke very well of FFA. Um again, it was FFA week last week. And I also wanted to um highlight that they went and picked up wreaths from the cemetery about a week ago and then they have state convention coming up in um another week where we have two students earning state degrees and one that will be competing. Moving towards next month, we'll have conferences and our open house as well as our ESPback testing. And then to highlight some of our extracurriculars as well as again um curricular clubs, our pipes and drums performed at uh the dinner area of the two cultures, one community pow, which I believe a club will be speaking more about. Our technology student
018association that's been headed up by Mr. Griggs is going either to compete in about every other month contest or um to at least see kind of what regional schools are doing in the state. And we had a first place finisher finisher last week and this is the first year we've competed. So very very impressive. They get a banner like FFA. So I think they're going to be very excited about it. Uh and they'll have state competition coming up in April as well. The Communicare Club showed Sasquatch for the 50th year anniversary this last weekend at the gym. We also had a great sports showing with one wrestler uh who is female making it to state and then our girls basketball team with a fourth place finish. We currently have 15 registered for baseball, 15 for
019softball, two for individual golf, uh seven in tennis, and then 35 track athletes. Finally, uh our school to careers outings will begin in the next couple weeks. Ninth grade is going to BMCC, 10th grade to EOU, and then 11th and 12th grade has the choice of either going to Walaw Wala Community Colleges try a trade day um or can go to a local school um and do a visit and tour around campus. So with all that to say, I also wanted to uh invite our Attina club, who again is kind of our conduit with C2IR on campus, and have them uh invite to come up and present kind of what they've been doing. And you can't leave Miss Monaco hanging. You do have to stand up. Well, >> hello. My name is Kar Monaco and
020I have been leading at Tina Club since October and we had about 15 students who had originally signed up and was participating but these members here are our most active members. We have Mania who was president Monica treasurer Roger who is vice president and Lawrence Johnson and I just wanted to tell them a great job they do also not at school but within our community and within their their own home. like to thank the school board for your support and your encouragement also from the administrators and thank you to the uh Indian education for your contributions are going to be helping us out with some funding particular groups. So here we are at our annual car which was full lighting and just to share a little bit about the human club. Sorry. >> She's going
021to say that word also came uh Native American club recognized in the whole state of Oregon. It's a really cool thing. I'm happy to be a part of it and not only part of the role of the president. Thank you very much. uh ways that we have celebrated this year is we've had a frame at the season opener of the football season which was really fun. We had gift wrapping at the indigenous marketplace the holiday bazaar and also at the western potato show fundraiser. Um we hosted our schoolwide paw with everyone in the school district attending. We had big bells at the basketball games and we participated in the bag pipes and drums performance and also had a sales table at the two cultures one. The fun thing we've done, I think, is our class.
022And so we'll have to pipe and be pipe. like the steps or just stuff about it. I think >> yeah, how to make them like The first step in the good artist something is traditional >> think mind is kind of like a thing. >> You missed out. >> Yeah, I was jealous when they did it. There's some fabrics >> for the letters. >> Yeah. I had to sew through that >> with another layer of everything. >> Oh my god. >> And what is the black one? >> It's also It's just >> Okay. It's just >> Okay. Yeah. >> And that was our process. >> Yeah. Thank you. >> I mean sometime hopefully I'll get into the Portland fashion week, but that's during round start. How long did it take to make the We did a
023full day. Sorry. Um probably It probably should be a two day class though. >> I'm like blinking and trying to get the >> We went from about 12 to 5 that day. We definitely should have Okay, it looks pretty awesome. Um, our plans for the future, we are collaborating with the farm to school team uh and our Indian educator team at the spring forecasting to host a first foods tasting table. That's going to be really fun. I'm hosting a jewelry making class with Tuesday and Ellen Taylor is also going to help us with the rock art class and I'm gonna learn how to make heating pads filled with rice so we can sell those and then we really want a bigger filter. So that's how we're hoping to end the year with the filter. My
024mom this year has probably been a success, but it was more like involving everybody before going forward. I don't remember that. It's pretty fun and I'm glad I got I kind of planned this for end of the schedule the past three years this year. I got a lot more people involved and after the fellow people like fun watching your thing and I walk out there overall like all four years I've been involved. It's been to honor being able to represent not only myself and my family, but my community and my tribe and being able to represent them to our school district and show how you guys accept us and want us to. And I appreciate that. and next years. I think my most memorable was probably gift because I got to work and help the
025club and then ask my most memorable part from this year also probably the follow said a lot more people were involved and it was really nice to see everybody actually doing it instead of just sitting up in the stands and watching and from last year. I really enjoyed our mattress trip where we went down to another school in Vancou and seeing everyone come down and actually participate and be a part of was nice to and seeing them dance and have fun. My most memorable time was boxes. I thought that was pretty fun. >> Awesome. And I also want to give a big shout out to a wonderful mentor to me. So, thank you for everything. question. >> Thank you for coming in and sharing. >> Well, thanks for writing that out. >> Thank you so
026much and great job guys. Yeah, excellent work and we're very very proud to have you as part of our school district as well. guys. >> And if you'd like to depart, feel free. We understand that you have a lot of things that can be done like I don't know early bedtime. >> Thank you guys. Thank you. >> Thank you all. All right, moving on to 4.6. Superintendent reports 4.6.1 tribal partnerships, tribal partner appreciation and public. >> Well, another thank you to our Attina club. And I also want to recognize Althia Wolf who um had many conversations with me about starting a Native American culture club and I think it's one of the best decisions we've ever made. Um Not only are we able to celebrate the cultural heritage of a number of our students, but
027our students in the Attina Club represent us very very well also. So just appreciate having those young people here tonight to to talk about their organization. And with that, I would also like to uh reintroduce to you Kendall Rosario, who is the CTuir youth services manager for education. She set up the meeting for us the last few years and the dinner and she does outstanding work and coordinates with us very well and she is uh all about kids and supporting kids. So we really appreciate our relationship with Kendall and I'll let her go ahead and introduce uh Jamie to you and also she will talk about our new Indian education coordinator, Kelly Woods. Kendall, I'll turn it over to you for a minute. >> And she's expecting very, very soon. So, you can stay seated,
028Kendall. >> Yes. Thank you. My name is Kendall. This is my daughter, Charlie. Um, and, uh, this is our education director for the tribe, Jamie Crane. Um, Kelly Woods. Sit down, please. Um, Kelly Woods is our new Indian education coordinator for Athena Weston and she's there full-time. So, she uh spends her time at um Weston West Mchuan the elementary school and Weston Middle and she's been doing a really great job. Um, she has kind of spearheaded some collaboration with the TA club a little bit more than past educators or coordinators have. Um, so I'm super excited to see what comes out of that. U, but yeah. Go ahead. Just a quick appreciation for the continued collaboration and relationship with the tribe. I was the government to government last week. So, Thursday was tribal day. Friday
029was state day. um hearing the other eight tribes >> kind of described their relationship or lack thereof with their school districts um was disheartening, but it reinforced that over here in rural eastern Oregon, we're setting models and standards and they're reaching out to us saying, "What are you doing? How are you getting districts to go along with us? Give us some pointers." Um there's even some Senate bills coming up in the next year or two having to do with the cultural absences. Those forms that were created to make sure that kids are excused from school if they're participating in those cultural activities. It's going to go districtwide mandated by the state and we talked about the coding for that. So we are really setting precedents. We couldn't do that without the support of the boards
030and the districts. So please know that all the work we do and the stuff we do together does not go unnoticed even on the other side of the state. Um on Friday Dr. Williams who is in the superintendent the Oregon Department of Education sorry my voice actually asked about the Athena club. She's like I remember a few years ago I visited and they have their AIA club. So that's something that stuck out in her mind and she's got a lot on her plate. that also speak on what the teachers, what the staff, what the children are doing. So, kudos to everyone for that. And thank you. >> Yeah. Thank you. >> And just to clarify what Jamie is referencing, when students attend a cultural activity outside of school, um there's a form that they can
031fill out and then we do not code it as an absence from school in order to support our students connecting with their tribal culture and being able to participate in root gathering events. or um there was a they were going to go on a field trip and then it got cancelled. Um was that a tree planting field trip? >> Yeah, in collaboration with the Department of Natural Resources here for the tribe. Um and I'm uh hoping that we can do that try that again next year because we did get some kids from Pilot Rock and uh PHS and it turned out uh to be a really cool um experience. So, there's definitely more trees to plant and uh we're looking forward to doing try that again next year. We didn't have any signups. That's why
032we had to cancel. We didn't get anybody. So, we'll try. >> And Kendall does a great job in getting the that information out to the district so we can send it home with kids and um help support kids getting involved. But we do support their access to their cultural heritage through our attendance system. So, and we appreciate both of you. uh very much and thank you for being here. >> Thank you. >> And thank you for the wonderful dinner. >> Any discussion? >> All right, let's move on to 46.2 enrollment. >> So, our current enrollment numbers are in your packet. Um we're down just a little bit to 482. um a little bit of movement across several parades, but we're still holding steady at around that 480 number, which is where we hope to end
033the year. Also, we included our historical data. It's just good to look at this every now and then. Um, just to point out that prior to the last two school years, our lowest historic number since we were keeping record in this format was 529 students in um 089 and again in 1011. And so these numbers of 470 and 2425 and and 2526 are historic lows. We've been talking about this for a long time. It's just when you look at it sort of on this form, you realize what an impact those low kindergarten numbers have had on us and graduating out large classes. So I like because you can track the enrollment grade by grade over time on this too. And we spend a lot of time studying this when we try to come up with
034our kind of projected enrollment for the state for the following school year. Remembering that in December we project our enrollment for two Mays from that. So this data helps us out a lot. I just think it's interesting to look at. So we included it today. >> Any discussion? Carrie, can you step out and call Katie? She's called an emergency. >> Thank you for the look back at the historic data. >> Uh, moving on to 4.6.3. Spring conferences. >> Uh, spring conferences will be the first full week in May. The week of April 6th, we'll do conferences for two evenings. And for the first year in a long time, we will maintain that no student day on Friday the 10th. And that is it's listed in the calendar as conferences for simplicity's sake, but it is
035really the compensation day for the teachers who work eight hours above contract through the the week to have two nights of evening conferences. So we have had to use that before as a snow makeup day and and the teachers had a very long week having students on Fridays. So we are excited this year to be able to maintain that as their compensation day fores and we will get letters out to families before spring break um requiring or inviting them to conferences whichever the case may be. >> We don't think there'll be a Sunday between now and then. So far looking good. >> Any discussion? >> All right, moving on to 4.6.4 bond campaign update. >> Um well, we have turned in the seal 805 form which um uh tells the county our intent to put
036a measure on the ballot in May. that needs to be in place for a couple of weeks to be sure there's no opposition, no challenge to the the ballot measure. And then this week, I will turn in the SC 803 form, which is sort of the final form. At that point, they will officially issue our ballot measure number. And this time, um, the elections department is going to do a a voters's pamphlet. So, we will also submit our explanatory statement along with our SEAL 803 form so that we have a little bit of an explanation of the purpose of the bond and the cost to taxpayers in the voters's pamphlet which I think will be very helpful. We were disappointed that we did not have that last time. So, all of the onus was on
037the district to get the information out this way and out to all voters independent of the school district. We Tim and I recorded um sort of an informational video with Michelle Madrill from the IMESD today focused on what is the proposed bond project and the cost, why the CTE building is the focus of the CBACK and the board for the May ballot and why renovation is not um the option we're looking at. why we're looking sort of at new spaces instead of a renovation project. So, we did that today. She'll be editing it, I hope, a lot. And uh we will take a look at that and start getting thoseformational videos on our website, Facebook page, and hopefully connected over to the Athena Weston community Facebook page. We're also working on a a mailing again
038to go to all voters in the district. I have a proof of that. We'll be editing and finalizing that this week so that it can get out before spring break. When we get back from spring break, uh the pack will start doing their persuasive campaign. We may ask the board to participate some in that. And then what we're looking to do in late April, we decide on Thursday 28th, >> I believe. So, >> we're confirming that this week, but th we believe Thursday the 28th of April. We're gonna combine the CTE showcase that the high school has done during conferences and the FFA a fair that started last year into one event for the whole community to help people get into the building, see the CTE spaces and the a spaces and hopefully have our
039CTE t teachers available to ask questions and our science teacher. So, he's expecting a baby around that time. So, we will see. And then I can um along with with Tim or any of you kind of run bond information sessions at maybe every 45 minutes over two or three hours to allow people just to come in, see the high school, get their questions answered before ballots are mailed. And then I believe um the board may want to talk about how you might have some sessions with the community where you could answer bond questions. So, I'll kind of let Tim talk about that idea. >> Yeah. I think my hope is to uh partner with at least one or multiple of you to uh get out in the community, potentially post up the Sugar Shack or
040the Long Branch for an hour, a couple times ahead of the April 28th event, then potentially a couple times after. U picking different days, different times, trying to make ourselves available for folks so that we can answer those questions and give people a chance for a one-on-one conversation. So, if you're interested in participating in that with me, please let me know. Start to put some dates together. We'd like to get that advertised on the flyer that's going to go out in the mail. So, I want to get that done this week. So, I'll be putting together my availability probably tomorrow. And if you'd like to participate, then we can coordinate with Dave. And we'll try to have that when we need that by for the flyer. End of this week >> if we could end
041of this week, early next week so we can have all the information in one mailing. >> Yeah. >> That goes out from the district. >> The pack can promote those things as well. But if we can get at least a start getting on people's calendars, that would be a good idea. Then I think uh also looking to do some actual filming and sort of informal discussions about what the project is, why we are supporting it as a board and why we're going forward. I'd love to see some of that shot in the actual spaces if we could. Uh, I think it's really impactful when you see the art room and how small it is and you talk about, you know, why we need something different or the science spaces or the, you know, the wood
042shop and metal shop and how it's all one space and um, so I' I'd really love it if like get a couple volunteers for that as well. So, if you're willing to just come in and have a conversation and have that recorded so we can post some of that content online, that' be great as well. And then would you help us with showing what space like that would look like folks that haven't what building looks like? >> So there's obviously a line there advocating for the bond versus just providing information. We have to walk that very fine. So, we can't necessarily use ESD resources to do that. And took a number of pictures at the Walaw Wala when we walked through at Wala High School. So, I see us using some of those as like
043sideby-side comparisons. >> Yeah. >> To show the difference. I think we could probably also go online and find like that. I don't know. Scott, do you >> you find the renderings are at all helpful in this or >> Yes and no. I think that renderings can be a double-edged sword since kind of get fixated on a specific element which be both positive and negative component of it. Um I I think that our architectural partner that we working with maybe provide some reference you know maybe some point here's some graphic imagery that could potentially be >> like sometimes that well that's the same room I did already in in time. Yeah. you know they don't realize what an updated >> right >> I think maybe the architect >> I do think to Tim's point it's you
044want to be thoughtful about what you're presenting >> so you don't set either false expectations or get people to gravitate to like an element that they don't like to put them >> right So I don't see but I do think maybe just having some comfortable like what are some other career tech facilities? >> Well and last time I know we got a lot of feedback about what we wanted to do was too lavish um like with the flagship gym. So I would be a little concerned with putting a rendering of something that's really amazing and then saying we don't need to do that much. You know what I mean? So uh those are some of the thoughts and then the pack is going to continue meet. So if you are not on that email list
045let me know. I'm happy to get you added to that as well. Emails has gone out with meeting notes like that. >> Anything else you wanted to say on this topic? >> I don't think so. if you have thoughts or ideas or things you'd like to do that, you know, just feel free to to email me. Um, again, just keeping that dividing line between the district being information only, but the board can say and promote whatever they would like. >> So, in the voters pamphlet, do we have the opportunity for folks to make um statements of support? >> They haven't asked me for that. We're limited to 500 words in what I'm supposed to submit on a form. So that has not been mentioned to me, but that's a good question. >> Scott, do you
046know >> I don't know off the top. >> Seems like the past. >> Yes, they would definitely have support for even local. I know that there's good letters to >> I I will find out. I'm have been emailing the my contact at the elections office so I'll ask >> and if you'll let me know I'm happy to call the board. we can push information out and then um we'll get that out through the pack probably the most effective way to letters of support. >> So I'll find out and let you know. Um Mr. Chair, do you mind if we take a short break just for a moment? I need to talk with Miss Coffin in private just for a moment. >> Let's uh let's take a five minute break. We're still recording. Yes. >> Are
047we? Yes. >> Yes. >> Great. Uh any further discussion on the bond? >> Otherwise, we'll move on. Great. 4.65 community engagement event and superintendent superintendent copy. Just a reminder, our last community engagement event of this school year, hard to believe, um, gone by very fast, is uh, this Wednesday, the 11th at 7:45 a.m. at Weston, we'll talk about some Western programs and initiatives and also about facilities. So, um, any of you are welcome to come if it works into your schedule. >> I'll be there. I unfortunately have conflict. So, I did try to protect it and it lasted until this morning trying to go to those. So, I appreciate you uh making not >> any other discussion on that. Moving on to February thought exchange feedback. >> So, at your spot is a a blue
048sheet um with feedback from our February thought exchange. But just as you know uh we have notetakers at each table as you're having discussions with community members. Our notetakers are capturing some key points uh from each table and then I look through those and try to capture commonalities or really interesting ideas uh in my summary for you. So you have positives and suggestions under each of the three topics we discussed. I'll just point out a few under topic one strategic plan lifelong learning. I think uh the most common thread was that which we know as the district we provide an awful lot of opportunities for kids particularly for our size and I think people do recognize that repeatedly. some interesting suggestions. Um, expend more energy into promoting uh what we would kind of call Tiger
049Scott pride. What does it mean to be a Tiger Scott? How do we maintain accountability with students and staff in what are sort of our core values and core mission? And Morgan and I are working on how to do more of that work, particularly with coaches and athletes, as we move through the summer and into next year. and we had a lot of ideas of how we can strengthen that. So those comments were timely for us. And then kind of a coaching or practice mentality to academics, you know, um you have to shoot a lot of free throws to be good free throw shooters like our girls basketball team just demonstrated. How can we maybe teach that same mentality to math facts or writing or science inquiry, that sort of thing? And then returning to
050a more robust job shadow program for high school students. Um we are looking to reexpand our school to careers program into next year and hope to be able to return to some of those activities. Our second topic was around all the kinds of testing we do in the district. Uh no surprise most of the observations is that our internal data is more valuable than statewide standardized testing. And uh an interesting suggestion again uh similar to the one before was how do we work with students to increase their stamina and their grit around kind of pushing through something they don't want to do but that they need to do and are there ways we can promote that through testing. Third topic uh school facilities. We talked about the input from the previous bond that did not
051pass and the potential um measure in May. Uh a lot of the same comments that we had in December about why the bond didn't fail. Several comments stating more or less that the simplicity of the current proposal would be helpful. it's very clear what we're doing and what it costs, which is a little different than the more complex package that we had on the ballot in November. And then some suggestions, make sure again we're addressing older voters. I think the mailings that go out to the entire district are helpful. and giving the community time to hear directly from the CTE teachers, which I think we're hoping to do in this kind of a fair and CT showcase. Future topics, I thought two very good ones that we should consider for next year. We can talk
052about in our board work session this summer. What are the components of a board meeting? How does a board meeting work? You know, one of the questions was, are the public are we allowed to talk in a board meeting? I think really going through the pieces of a board meeting and what the public's role is and the purpose of a board meeting would be helpful to people. And then Title N, we have our Title N expert right here, but how that impacts decisions in public schools. There's actually a lot to Title N, more than just equality in men's and women's athletics. There's a lot to title nine around harassment and investigations and those things. So I think that could be an interesting topic as well for future thought exchange. >> Any questions about the feedback?
053>> Couple quick comments. One future topics I mean maybe it's components of a board meeting but also the role of the board. uh maybe just kind of give clarity to the public about what the board is and is it uh but then I I do want to say and I know uh under topic three first bullet point negative appearance I know that uh at the last thought exchange we had one individual who from the public who had not attended previously who came and throughout the course of that discussion there was a lot of like around testing capability test results uh he he did make the comment of like public there's no right and uh once those some I would say misinformation was kind of addressed particularly on academics and sort of the general testing results
054he was just like man I wish I would have known this past so I do think that there's validity in uh addressing some of the questions that the public may have about testing the academic components of it so I just again I'm appreciative of the topic just with the acknowledgement that it was kind of eye opening for at least one member of Me, too. >> And I think as we kind of see the bomb campaign swing into gear, the information starts to get out to the public, we're I think more savvy this time around that as misinformation starts to float to the surface, we can as a district put out anformational video or the pack or the board can put out a persuasive video to discuss some of those issues. So if testing comes up
055again, I certainly can do a five minute video on testing just like I've done in the thought exchanges and we can get some information I think out more rapidly and in a helpful way. >> Yeah. Any other discussion topics? >> Yes. The only thing that came up for me and I wasn't able to attend. But one thing I feel like we hear occasionally um is number one about how many things we offer at the high school. But then there's a it seems like there's a bit of um like when they get to the senior year, they've taken all the classes. Maybe they haven't noted pursuing college. They don't think they are. So they don't take advantage of those. Um, but I was in a conversation just today actually and it was um, you know, one
056person was saying, "My kids not taking advantage of the college classes because they don't know where they're going to go and they may not transfer, which may be accurate, but in the spirit of learning, even if you aren't going to pursue even a college where those credits don't transfer, you're still learning, preparing, and that sort of oness is on parent and the student to take advantage of that opportunity even if they they're still learning. Your high school credits don't necessarily transfer to college either, but it's still learning, right? So I just think maybe refraining that for kids might be helpful and parent >> credits don't transfer any hope. >> Exactly. But I think that was but we haven't said parents like that. Well, English 101 when you've already had it is a lot easier when
057you're now in a auditorium of 200 kids. >> Absolutely. >> You know, same with calculus, same with chemistry. >> Yes. >> Um when they've been through the material once, they're ahead of the game when they're in that literal auditorium of 300. even if you opt not to go to college 101 is helpful to you when you're writing an emailer path or whatever it is. >> And I would add that in um this year in particular, we have been able to um consolidate down to just BMCC and EOU, not necessarily losing credits, but um some of the classes that Mr. son was articulating through Rogue, we're now able to do through BMCC. And so we have been trying to minimize that transcript grab by getting them down to um two different colleges. >> That will have
058anything I'm interested in to take as a senior. >> Yep. >> Any other comments? I'd agree with you, Scott, that I think talking about the components of the board meeting, but also the role of the board and um I guess I've heard some feedback recently that um people don't always know when they should come speak to us and what like there's a I'm concerned that there's a belief out there that we aren't willing to talk to our I don't believe that the case. I I think we're more than willing and we try to make as many opportunities as we can in the forums that we can. So, I'd like to figure out how we can continue to convey that to folks and give them the opportunity to come sit down with us and and speak
059to us and so yeah, definitely I think that that's a great topic as well. Anything else? All right, let's move on to 6.7 the school board vacancy >> and I'm happy to take this one. >> Y >> uh so in your packet there was a bunch of recap material uh related to the process we had put together the questions we had asked of the OBA. Uh and then we had um at the last meeting we put together a posting uh and that posting uh was up for the required 20 days uh in which we solicited letters of introduction. um I had put together with the board's approval the basics of that letter of introduction and then um we had one uh letter submitted and that was from Barona and that was in your packet as
060well that came out hopefully you all had an opportunity to review uh and so uh per Scott's change the agenda item 6.10. We will go through the actual appointment process and then swear in and see that number. So any questions or discussion on that topic goes to you. Uh I know it was obviously a bit of a learning curve. Uh so thank you so much for kind of you working through that with OSBA to ensure that we're following our following our supporting. >> Thanks Scott. Uh and thank you to Paula and Laura and Ann for helping me with through all of that and getting it posted. Uh I'm excited to have new school. Uh moving on to 4.6.8 uh supplemental budget. >> Yes. So um this will be an action item later on in the
061agenda. But what we want to do is um transfer some funds into our special funds that we were not able to do when we designed the budget last spring. As you know, uh, our enrollment's a little bit up this year. We were anticipating it being lower. And so, we were being very, uh, cautious with the budget last spring. And in doing that, we decided uh, not to transfer money into three key accounts. Uh, capital improvement and curriculum and technology. But we've been sort of looking uh this year to in anticipation that we might be able to go ahead and make those transfers. Those are three critical accounts. uh curriculum is when we purchase textbooks and that is very expensive and the state has actually shortened the adoption cycle for language arts from seven years to
062six years which means we're going to be adopting language arts curriculum a year earlier than we originally anticipated and when I do the math on that you know so as you may recall language arts is then followed by math then science then you get a little reprieve help social studies which is where we are now. When I do the math on that, um if we don't transfer some funds into that account now and then again in the budget or developing next year, we will be short and that means you either postpone an adoption, which means then you're off from the entire cycle. And you also risk not purchasing the fundamental materials that teachers need to teach. And I'm I'm just not willing to not support that account unless we were in a crisis. We we
063thought we might be. We weren't sure. That's why we hesitated, but we are now not in a crisis, and we need to move some funds into that account. Same with technology. We buy new Chromebooks every year for first grade, fifth grade, and ninth grade. We also allow our seniors, we surplus those Chromebooks and allow them to walk out the door with a device that's probably good for one more year before it wouldn't accept updates, which kind of gets them out the door and into the real world with a device if they need it. And we did not add to our technology fund. But again, I don't want to be in a position in two years of not being able to buy the Chromebooks that are absolutely necessary. Capital improvement is another fund we have to
064keep our eye on. Just absolutely must. Um we didn't pass a bond in November that would have done a lot of work on all of our buildings and our HVAC system um is aging. Our maintenance supervisor is working on a schedule over the next 10 years where we could replace compressors over time, but we have to be sure we are supporting that. But again, the last thing we can have is our HVAC system not operating properly. That's the one system we are the most concerned about as we look at a another bond for 10 years that does not include Hback. it it it's not a crisis, but we don't want to have a crisis. So, when we get to the action items, you will see um a supplemental budget that moves some funds now into
065those three critical accounts to ensure our security and then >> we will build a budget again around making that same deposit. Again, we need to be doing that every year. who just were not sure the footing we were on last year and so we elected to wait till this time this year and see if we could so that's what we're doing at this time and Paula and Laura can talk a little bit more about that if you want >> any questions discussion >> I appreciate the explanation >> y thank you makes perfect sense all right let's move on to agenda item 5.1 personnel All right. So in your packet is a list of um some personnel items. So we have two certified uh reductions from 1 FTE to.5 FTE. So uh one is Kayla Shear
066who had been a.5 FTE with Mr. Taylor's resignation, she um elected to go up to one FTE, but she is requesting that she return to her.5 FTE for the next school year. And with that, Megan Brian um is getting close to retirement and would like to finish her career as the other half of Kayla Shared, her longtime teaching partner, and combined I guarantee you they went to RT and first grade. So um they are each requesting going from 1 FTE to.5 FTE and then information only um we are hiring Joseph Bates who is currently our custodian in the position of facility maintenance that will open up a custodial position which we will get posted shortly. That's for information only. Also for information only is classified resignation Jennifer McGee, elementary school par professional. We have an
067extra duty resignation, Becky Kane, high school boys basketball coach. And then for information only, volunteer coaches for spring sports, Payton Mloud, baseball, Megan Kaufman, softball, Chantel Fuller, softball, Bailey Hill, softball. Sean Monaco track. Matt Whismann track. Jack Murphy track. Tim Springer track. And J >> I'm so sorry. Jack and Tim should be >> Oh, sorry. Jack Murphy and golf. We had a lot of track coaches there. Tim Springer golf. And again, these are volunteer coaches. >> Jake Rose's middle school track. >> Oh, sorry. That's middle school track. Thank you. Uh motion to approve personnel report as presented just change. >> Good morning. Do I have a second? >> Second, Scott. Scott, any discussion? Uh have a motion, a second. All in favor of approving the personnel report as presented. >> Any opposed carries 5.1.1 contracts.
068>> So in your packet you have your annual list of certified uh contract renewals. So you have uh your teachers who are moving from first year probationary to second year probationary. Teachers moving from secondyear probationary to third year probationary. Teachers moving from thirdyear probationary to contract teachers and then your list of contract teacher renewals. In addition to that, you have um our two contract administrators um renewals and those are three-year contracts. >> Thank you. Do I have a motion? >> Mr. Chair, I'd like to make a motion uh move that recommended probation area and contract license staff contracts and contracts be renewed and extended as Scott. Second Marty, any discussion. All in favor of approval of the contracts as presented. >> Any opposed? >> Motion carries. Moving on to action items. We'll start with 6.1
069overnight business. >> Well, spring is busy, so we have quite a list here. We have FFA state convention March 19th through 22nd in Redmond. High school tennis madress invitational April 17th to 18th. High school track Jesuit relays in Portland, April 23rd to 25th. And then um is this district like districts or is that okay? So then we have kind of our postseason potentials. High school golf district match in Union in May. High school golf state in Redmond in May. High school tennis state championships in Corvalis in May. High school track state championships in Eugene in May. High school softball location to be determined uh May 25th all the way up to June 2nd. High school softball state game in Eugene June 5th. High school baseball postseason locations to be determined again May 25th through June
0702nd. And then high school baseball state game location to be determined June 6th. And again, those are our potential overnight trips for postseason spring sports. >> Thank you. Do I have a motion? >> Mr. Chair, I move to approve the overnight trips as presented. Thanks, Scott. Second. >> Morning. Any discussion? All in favor of approval? >> Any opposed? >> Carries. Move on to 6.2 eighth grade field trip. >> This is our annual 8th grade field trip still organized and led by Deb Glover, which we appreciate. And this year, Craig Angel is going and Laura Rhodess and as well as parent chaprons and they will be headed to the coast and back May 13 through 16 sleeping on gym floors. I bought a nice pad. >> So tired you won't care. >> Motion chair. I move
071to approve the >> Thank you, Marty. Do you have a second? >> Second, >> Natalie. Any discussion? Just kudos to that crew. >> Thank you for your service. Yes. >> All in favor of approval. I >> any opposed. Motion carries. Moving on to 6.3 supplemental budget. >> This is the action item for the supplemental budget and I'll let Paula and Laura walk you through that just a little bit the paperwork. So we reviewed this with uh Kylie software auditors. In my history we have not done this. So I were at a loss. So I we created this document. I sent it to Kylie. She approved it and then asked me to also include the res resolutions behind it. This is kind of the the format. This supplemental budget explains what we're doing and how we're
072doing it. And then the resolutions will then be put into the budget and we'll adjust the budget. So it's kind of more broken down with the resolution that's fun by >> and it's just interphone transfers. >> Correct. Y >> uh >> tonight we can >> do I have a motion supplemental budget and resolution 253 through 256. >> Thank you Natalie. Do I have a second? >> Second, Scott. >> Thank you, Scott. Any discussion? Uh thank you to our business managers uh for doing this research with our outside auditing firm. I appreciate >> I'd say I appreciate the the way in which we budget and the cautious approach that we took and thank you for the bringing this back up and making sure that we're investing in the right things going forward so that we don't
073have shortfall later. I think that's excellent and that shows excellent stewardship of our taxpayer resources. So, thank you. Uh, anything else? All in favor of approval? >> I opposed. Motion carries. Moving on to policies. Got a few action item or a few items here. Reminded these are first readings and so we will not be adopting. We are simply reviewing uh proposed policy changes from the super. >> So I'll walk you through these and some of the key things um to bring to your attention and then uh we can I can answer some questions this evening or the board can discuss a little bit but then we have that opportunity at the second reading as well. So the first little cluster of policies, GCBDA, GDBDA, family and medical leave, FE family of um and then GCBDF
074uh SLGBDF paid family and medical leave insurance, which is the paid leave to Oregon. So there just can be a lot of changes in these laws and um the new policy proposals reflect those changes. There have been some changes around the conditions that qualify uh for leave taken through Oregon family leave and paid family leave insurance. And there's some situations that used to run concurrently and now they cannot be taken concurrently. And so the the policy just reflects those changes. So in your packet we have the the proposal from OSBA and then I've included our current policy just so you can look for differences. If you look at the family and medical leave, uh we are version one because we have more than 50 employees. And you can see some highlighted uh vocabulary adjustments in
075there, some strikeouts on the second page. Um just to point out, I always pick superintendent or designate in case I abducted by aliens and need somebody else to do it. Um, but we'll develop administrative regulations. Those are lengthy and really we're going to go with what OSBA says because it's aligned to the law. So, I will take their recommendation and create the AR. I didn't include all that in the packet. It's um there's really nothing to make a decision about there. So, I didn't include that with you. The board doesn't need to approve those. And then um the paid family and medical leave. You can see the sample policy. Again, there are some wording adjustments, a lot of strikeouts. They This is a pretty new um law in Oregon, program in Oregon, and so they're
076still working their way through it. is just updates to the current law and it actually simplifies a lot of the language that was in the original policy which I always appreciate. I tried to kind of point that out. And then there's a statement at the end that I had starred. Leave taken under paid leave Oregon is in addition to and may not be taken concurrently with any leave taken pursuant to this law. We don't have to figure all of that out for our employees when they apply for pay board and they do it through the state but it's good to have these things in our policy and it gives us a starting point and things to point out to our employees and again there will be a name to that that I'll just uh submit
077once the board approves and if the board approves the policy. So that's the first cluster there. And then we have um some policy changes around graduation requirements which just again align to some changes in the law in the last year or two. So they have changed um the term alternative certificate with the term certificate of attendance. So some of the changes are simply that word of change. And then it added that our students beginning with the class of 2027 have to have the half of credit in personal finance and half of civics which we are already offering but it adds to our policy. Those courses are not listed as requirements in our current policy. Um then there is a section I would like the board to think about and discuss if necessary about essential skills.
078So essential skills is off the table until 2027. As you recall, students had to pass the state assessment or demonstrate proficiency in science, language arts, math, and writing in an alternate way. Um, I have not told yet if they are for sure bringing it back in 2027 or what it will look like at that point. But if you look over to essential skills, we need to select the district will or will not allow English language learner students to demonstrate proficiency in essential skills in the students language of origin for a high school diploma or a modified diploma. We can leave that language out at this time, but we will eventually have to put it in. So I my feeling is we should discuss it now and put it in. We don't have a large population
079of English language learners and we don't have any non-English-speaking English language learners at this time. In looking at the districts around us, uh I looked at Milton, Freewater, Pendleton, Echo, Helix, Stanfield, and Pendleton selected will not the other districts have selected will. I can look into this further and talk say to Milton Freewater about what are the circumstances under which you would have a student graduating from high school unable to demonstrate proficiency in English. Uh again, we just don't have a lot of experience in this area and without talking to some people, I'm not entirely sure why we would or would pick one or the other unless the board is just ready and willing to pick one or the other, but I'm certainly having to research a little bit more before the next board meeting.
080But that is an important decision as you can imagine and I want us to make the decision carefully there because it it would impact students one way or another. So, I wanted to point that out. And then if there's an appeal about essential skills, um I recommend selecting that they follow board policy KL complaint procedure just to not have multiple complaint procedures that people have to find the right one. It's just easier if we run it all through the same one since that's an option. The rest is pretty standard. I sort of put check marks, things that um were in our policy before that are clear. There's some definition of documented history about why student might be allowed to have a modified diploma. We follow all of those rules already. You can sort of go
081through and compare it to the old or the current policy. And then with that was policy JCA, admission of resident students. Again, they changed that term alternative certificate um for certificate of attendance. So, there's a little bit of a change there. It combines some of the wording from the um original. And then in alignment with our previous policy, the district may based on district criteria deny regular school admission to a student who has become a resident student and who is under expulsion from another district for reasons other than a weapons violation. If they've been expelled for weapons, we cannot ignore that. So this just gives us the option. You've been expelled from say Milton Treewater, you move in and become a resident student. we may deny regular attendance in other words based on circumstance. Just
082gives us an option there. I would recommend that. And then number nine, um the district may based on district criteria provide alternative programs of instruction to a student who has become a resident student and who is under expulsion from another district for a weapons policy violation. Um, my personal opinion, I discourage no tolerance policies because every while we want to be consistent, every circumstance can have its own story and its own context. And so this gives us the option to make a decision based on the context around each individual students story, even if it's around a violation. There's always the story of that that the kid left their hunting rifle in the backseat of their car. And when you have zero tolerance policies, you can really deny kids a lot of things. And so I
083would just want to have the ability to review a situation if I'm making a recommendation to the court. So those are my thoughts on those. And then the medications, uh, there's been a lot of change in the law on medications and the AR is, I think, 14 pages long. Again, I'm not going to ask you to look at that. I will submit that once this policy is adopted. It aligns with the law and all the procedures we're already following and already required to follow. What I did want to point out is there's some new wording around um a non-injectable short acting opioid antagonist, which is basically Narcan. We will need to include that because our staff has been trained in administration of Narcan and we have it on all campuses. We have it labeled and
084available. So, we'll want to add that into the medications policy. So, that was a lot. We're getting close to caught up unless we get a huge policy dump from the latest legislative session. >> Thank you for the breakdown. Any discussion from the board? If we in terms of the question around essential skills, I would appreciate maybe hearing from about their I better understand what decision. >> Yeah. And it sounds like it's a very black and white rule >> and it seems like it almost never would apply to us. But if there was an instance where someone who was an English language learner >> transferred to their senior year and they didn't speak very well in English, we just don't have any options to offer them. That seems like it doesn't make sense and we wouldn't
085be able to it seems like under these wordy this wording we wouldn't be able to make an exception for that soon. >> Yeah, there wasn't a May. It was one or the other. And so that's why I wanted the board to really pay attention to to that one. So I'll reach out to um Umatillaa Milton Freewater and Pendleton and just see what the discussion was or look back at their their board minutes and see what the rationale was and bring you a little bit more information in April. >> Thank you. Anything else? >> I always just appreciate the summary. Thank youelcome again. >> All right. So that takes us through from 6.4 all the way down through 6.8 and move on to 6.9 IPM plan addition to the low impact factors. So, um, you have
086an email there from Tom Smith. Uh, the herbicide he would like to use, uh, against what he calls our inevitable dandelion uprising, which I appreciated, um, is not on our low impact list. It is not a big deal to add it. So there were three criteria. It has to carry a signal word of caution. Signal words warning or danger are not permitted on the low impact list. It must not be known to cause cancer and it must be approved by the board. So the herbicide crew meets the first two guidelines and then he just needs board approval to put that on our low impact list and begin waging war against the dandelions. There's more information about the product in your >> It's not even known to cause cancer in California. >> He must be safe.
087>> Danny, Mr. Chair, I move to approve the uh I move to approve the additional herbicides the IPM plan. >> Thanks, Scott. Do you have a second? >> A second. >> Marty, any discussion? >> I guess I'll just add and we joke about the dandelions farming community. They're very significant to certain members of our community to getting rid of that >> which is community engagement. >> Why they she love it or >> hated hated? >> Okay, just checking. >> Yes, they're hated. >> There was dandelion wine or dandelion salad. I was gonna be worried. >> Okay. >> Not welcome. >> Think wine would be one with an H in that scenario. I'm honestly surprised that a spray rig hasn't been driven over the entire property accidentally. >> Yeah. >> Me. >> Uh we have a
088motion and a second to approve the addition of the herbicide the IPM plan. All in favor? >> Any opposed? Motion carries. Uh moving on to item 6.10. 10 new board member. We have the letter of instruction from Lina Barona. Uh do I have a motion to appoint? >> Mr. Chair, uh I'd like to make a motion to approve Barona as Bill. >> Thank Scott. Do I have a second? I'll >> second. >> Thank you, Natalie. Any discussion? If I thank you for your letter of interest uh very excited about it. Thank you for your willingness to serve and do good things for students and kids and serve your community. So yeah, thank you. >> Others I would echo Scott's sentiment. Uh so we have a motion and a second to appoint as uh a board
089member. Uh all in favor I >> any opposed? Motion carries. Uh per board policy we will now swear you in if that if you're ready. Uh so come on up and >> you'll get to sit at the table with us after this. >> I'll come forward so the camera can see you. And uh so you'll raise your right hand and uh repeat after me. Um so Ireina Barona >> Ireina Barona >> do solemnly swear >> swear >> that I will support the Constitution of the United States, Constitution of the State of Oregon and the laws thereof and the policies of the Athena Weston School District. policy services. >> During my term, >> I will faithfully and impartially discharge the duties >> I will faithfully and impartially discharge the duties >> the duties >> of the
090office of school board member >> of the office of school >> to the best of my ability. >> Congratulations. Welcome aboard.
