going to need a second too okay do a lot of things we'll call this meeting of the board of directors of science school district to order in 605. the first item is before we do oh we're gonna do roll call sure okay okay all right frank armadiros present brian lacator [Music] diane pimlott present oh there you go present marie mellenberger president john barnett he may be later in mr smith cheers here all right at this time the school board will now meet in executive sessions review and evaluate the employment-related performance of the chief executive officer or any other public body public officer employee or staff member who does not request an open hearing in regards to irs 192.660 pairing two sub i which will be an executive session no decisions may be made in executive

session at the end the executive session will return to open session welcome the audience back into the room or engineering are allowed to attend and all other members of the audience are not in no recording executive sessions allowed without express permission from the board and we are in executive session and we have paused while we take care of a couple technical details so okay so everybody is going to be going into diana and frank you'll be invited into the breakout room ready actually i'm not okay okay and then finally to join hey oh uh the strategic planning and then we'll get moving with um the next feature which is kind of laying out the kind of the target pieces for uh data collection which gets to the kind of shape in the parts which will

be the focus for community input for the fall okay so now are we planning on doing the uh board self-esteem on the first as well i believe that was yes yes and uh 100 [Music] so any word on that you saw i have not heard yet but i think that's oh that's right first yeah yeah yeah that's that all right well good yeah so we got oh my gosh we've got uh meeting on the first for that we have a budget meeting regular board meeting and and budget adoption but all of the goal work is in my mid-year um [Music] maybe which lists all the steps yeah and that's really the first part and then looking at you know again what are the what are the target goals we've got required uh you know check

marks um you know with the state every year in terms of you know incremental increases for five year completion four-year graduation um you know third grade on track for reading and those are the marks that we set um two years ago we got to go back through and review those marks switch it or contract with those and we know that um there there's some wobble in there from again a year and a half of being off campus in business learning um and so that's good to make sure that we're setting revising retention marks for getting back contracting things so basically what was leading up to we have five one states in june and we've taken up three and uh in the absolute worst case is if we cannot take final action on the budget on

aids we could possibly have a special 15 or the 29th because we have to finalize the budget and jump to the agreement get submitted mistake on the end of the day all righty sounds good and we will take a break for seven minutes welcome all and we will officially come to order in about seven minutes yes yes we uh ryan qualified yeah so that's going to be we're going to take out uh sunday okay except in in banks at emerald valley uh valley it's um [Music] yeah we haven't had anybody representing state and golf [Music] so we're excited oh gene [Music] um [Music] other is [Music] is okay yeah right calendar yeah first work sessions like 20 seconds so [Music] is oh no uh i just discovered this week that west lamb and district [Music]

uh getting six i believe yeah when i got here about quarter after we were up six nothing sir yeah they just they just completed three free runs western okay we're getting watched regular board meeting of the seis school district 97g board of directors to order to order at 6 30 p.m and just remind our mission is motivating and preparing all students to reach their greatest potential without that we had the roll call before we went to executive session and the three of us and we're here we have two directors who are joining us today to zoom that's uh director diana pimlott director frank hormodoros and so we shall start with the pledge of allegiance mr harper thank you very much earlier this year this body uh voted to green state the status of high school

golf program and coach johnson has been in charge they've had some recent success and i thought they would be the perfect ones to wrap up sort of my high school's contribution to more videos this year so coach johnson come on thank you well first of all on behalf of site usa high school and our golf team we thank you for for allowing us to be here i promise i'm not going to take over 59 minutes so anyways that uh you know uh dude the generosity and i this this has really opened my eyes no i haven't been in this community long but i've i've noticed a very uh supportive community and it really has i really noticed that now the coaching and we just feel so honored and lucky to to have golf back in

our high school and we have some of our golfers here who might like to introduce to you and uh tell you just a little bit about it and then we'll go from here so um as i'm looking we have our an exchange student from spain it's the art uh kennel if you would stand up real quick and uh it's there was our low score at district golf this year with uh improved her first day score to her with her second day score by 22 strokes and shot out of 112 last day so we have her and junior gabby german right here part of the girls adult team we have senior hayden well hayden was even finished in the top 30 at state third district as well and has been one of our leaders obviously we

have freshman rihanna lane who has uh been our most formed two of our tournaments this year and uh let's see her improve you she took 19 strokes off of her first uh score and birthday score we have on the boys team senior caden flame who has our second best average on the team this year we have sophomore uh talon loomis i think you had offered a minute account we're going to start calling scarface now we have it lasted a swimming pool a district but uh that's all right the answer is [Music] um we have junior carson mckinley back here okay and right next to him senior zion jones he uh helped us a district this year and he he had a let's see he had an opening 144 tough tough round that he finished with

the 120 the second day he took 24 strokes off this is his best and then let's see we have jabril at senior gerald brumley right here who has helped us out this year and then it's a and it's just a pleasure to introduce maul but i do want to introduce you to the a4 special district 3 boys district champion right here ryan's freshman ryan clampy okay we shot at 74. it's been a great year we're to finish it up we have a couple of things we're going to do still as a team but our like i say our girls finished seventh a district out of 14 teams three teams there's one team that came in and incomplete two teams became incomplete that of course we played was tough and there are a couple girls on

some other teams that just said that's it i'm not doing this anymore and where did you play we played at bannon crossing home girls and boys [Music] but i just want to leave it before we start by saying the compliments that i received as a coach on how these young men and young ladies represented our community our school themselves at both district tournaments was just was heartwarming it just you know you're doing the right thing you know you've got the right kids with you because uh nothing but compliments i watched them and they the class and integrity that they showed um and the dignity was just uh thumbs up thumbs up so anyway so guys if you want to stand up i'm going to let you guys leave them in the pledge of allegiance so

i'll [Music] all right thank you very much i have a little bit of a presentation [Music] can we all crowd around okay [Music] all right uh it's gonna be it's called quote wow all right [Music] apparently [Music] so we have a full house for men let's see here mr h when he's not here tonight we have a report all right we do have winnie zann is our student liaison and she's not here this evening apparently but we do have her report in blue and i think there's copies are there copies for the public there yeah there's a couple of the things um for volunteering to do that uh right so we shall go on with the approval of the agenda for tonight mr gastoya okay um i am zero five one one two two dash

point five approval of the agenda uh superintendent board chair vice chair me to prepare the agenda one week prior to the meeting items of business may be suggested by any board member staff member student or citizen of the district by notifying the superintendent of these five working days prior to the meeting any changes the agenda must be true by the majority vote uh the administration recommends approval of the agenda okay directors you've had the agenda since friday uh what's your question you resolved the senior school district board of directors approved the agenda has presented resolution two point 051122-2.5 a group agenda all right is there a second second all right [Music] uh we already have a second thank you uh second by director of theirs uh any discussion on the motion all right we'll just

proceed right on all those in favor of the agenda as presented please say goodbye by saying hi hi hi those opposed say maine hearing on motion carries unanimous thank you very much next item we moved to that is the accept agenda is that right no public comment public comment i'm sorry i was i was winging it and i can't do that also public health is anybody who would like to address the board tonight you guys have your own special spot on um he's here to address the board i don't think we have any forms filled out i'm not seeing anybody waving their hands so we'll move on now to the special presentation program highlights and we've invited the representatives club to come talk about things that we do for kids in the community we have

uh the current president of the forum squads megan messer and the secretary gene murphy and where would you like that well if you want to come up to you're welcome to oh so you know oh my god well uh good evening thank you for having us uh as was mentioned i'm the president of tuanus jean is our secretary uh and we wanted to fill you in on what we are doing in the corners club both for the community and then uh for the students of soyuz school district uh but most of those are also in mapleton school district as well so the motto of qantas is serving the children of the world and our mission is to empower communities to improve the world by making lasting differences in the lives of children and that's i

think what we all are working towards here our kiwanis international we have over 150 000 service projects that our members do throughout the world every year and we raise over 100 million dollars every year to support communities families and those many projects our local kiwanis club of florence is a group of about 40 individuals that are committed to that vision of serving our community and our children some of the ways that we work in florence to serve students of this school district one of our big projects that we've done a few times this will be our third year actually doing it in the schools happens at the middle school uh it's the game of life uh reality check for eighth graders so that will occur this year on june 3rd and we will be here

on site this year we will do something a little different from appleton students who go to their school generally they come here and we do everything together which is nice but through this event students get a taste of what it really costs they get assigned a job with a wage they get a pick where they live they learn how many children they have if they have any pets vehicles and basically take their earnings and start deducting all of those things uh and we bring partners in from around the community to participate and take everybody's pretend money uh and then bring our public safety uh personnel from our various districts and they get to do the fun piece of the wheel that they get to spin for either good things or not so good things that

happen so that's a really fun event um for both the volunteers and the students than that our qantas members also support uh the pantries here at the middle school and the high school with donating supplies clothing hygiene products whatever they can donate to support those two closets for the elementary schools both for mapleton and cyusa we provide funding for supplies that we give the offices i'm not saying what supplies those need to be they could be school supplies they could be shoes coats whatever is needed and then we also contribute to head start as well in that way we have both key club which is a high school and builders club at the middle school keep love is the oldest service program for high school students and we are very thankful that we have our

staff leaders to help those students in those groups and they've all restarted and are doing some great things past activities that they've helped with are the community thanksgiving dinner that quanas does we have students who help with our flag routes um they've helped get a head start from the elementary school um they've helped to grow to kids games all the projects that we do so we try to get them involved as volunteers in our main club's events at the head start um building we put on a fall festival for those kids so it's a pain right pumpkin gathering at head start that one of our members has been dedicated and done for many many years to get pumpkins for those kids uh we also do scholarships for high school students uh that is anywhere from

five to seven depending on the year uh and the funding that we have for those um so i just had a reminder for our foundation board today to make sure they go through all of those applicants and get four and one this year so they have their work cut out for them uh for seven scholarships so that's been uh some of the other uh items that we participate in that aren't directly in the schools but affect the school district uh during coven we started uh the grad signs um has helped facilitate thank you for that um that was when graduation wasn't going to happen it's normal so uh printing up 20 yard signs for graduates of both mapleton and studies the high schools um we're doing two sets so we lie on the highway and

then the walk to graduation and then that's something that they can take with them afterwards but it's good to recognize them throughout the community [Music] food backpacks for kids we've helped with that program we supply funding for the milk and fruit for several years um for that program that serves mapleton and cysla we also provide funding to the boys and girls club we host the roby kid games after the junior parade and we also do those same games at the city's national night out we do community thanksgiving dinner which is hosted at the elks lodge but our kiwanis warner's board meet that and organize it last year they served over 600 meals on thanksgiving for a drive-through style which is a lot of mouths that we helped feed the community we have for two years

done a movie night which we do at christmas time and we rent city light cinema so it's free for families to come and watch movies um we pick the holiday movie each time and we continue what we'd like to continue to do that we have lots of dedicated members around florence who help with our sweet dreams pillowcase project and that is where we are sewing brightly colored fun cartoon whatever right fabric we can get donated pillowcases and we donate those to doernbecher ronald mcdonald house shriners and other local charities for kids who are going through treatment for whatever illness they may have bring some brightness into their groups so we've done that for two and a half years and have uh donated over 900 pillowcases this is a lot of sewing from our community members

and then florence and mapleton foodshare we also donate to those programs in addition to the others that i mentioned quanas also sponsors the winter music festival kids concert so that is uh students says mapleton and reedsport schools come to those at the event center during the learning music festival and this year we were able to continue to do that and they did that virtually in the classrooms so that's nice good to be able to continue doing that and then our qantas flag program is probably the most visible that everybody sees on holidays our volunteers put out flags on highway kingwood and many other main thoroughfares in florence we also loaned our flags to the track meet that occurred here two years ago now i believe and then our football team asked for those to be

placed at the home games so we loaned the flags and coordinated that and taught them how to attach flags securely to every pole at the stadium and they did a great job doing that and through that we also uh taught them how to roll flags and build their flag some flag etiquette which was good and they were very uh great at helping to do all that because it's a lot of work there were a lot of flags and they're very happy so but that was great to see those flags up here for many friday nights any questions on what we're doing uh anything you need thank you very much several of you in the room are already volunteering for game of life but if any of the other board members are interested in participating at

that event just let me know or reach out to bob and he can get me your information it's pretty fun sure put the responsibility if you [Music] oh yeah very interesting it's fun for us too yeah all right thank you thank you thank you gene thank you we're all right all right do we have a is i don't see neil where we are yeah the kayak team was working between a couple of different projects and i knew neil kind of got volunteered by robbie and he was going to see if he was be able to fit in his schedule i don't know if they got that worked out for today but the they've got uh us on for june or july oh okay because they've got some other work is going on so if neil's

not on the zoom he will be on for all right we'll move on to 5.0 the concept agenda so uh item uh zero five one one two two five point zero consent agenda consent business uh this month's consent agenda contains the following items are april 13th 2022 uh board minutes our april 22 financial statements our uh april enrollment and second reading of policies uh cm compliance and reporting standards uh policy dj c bidding requirements policy ia instructional goals policy igbi bilingual education policy ikf graduation requirements policy igbha alternative education programs policy ikfb graduation exercise and policy il assessment program uh administration recommends approval of the consent agenda as presented for demand is reminded that any consent item can be performed as an individual approval item all right thank you sir the directors of the second

reading of policies we had first readings last meeting and everybody agreed to pass them on to the consent agenda and they have the rest of it there uh motion would be in order board chair this be it resolved that the soyuz the school district board of directors approved the consent agenda as presented resolution zero five one one two two dash five point zero consent a agenda all right motion made by director pimlock to approve the consent agenda second advise director milton berger and [Music] no discussion on the motion i'll ask all those in favor please say hi yeah anybody opposed hearing none of both motion carries anonymous thank you all very much okay language arts curriculum unless you just go ahead okay um so you have a first reading of uh language arts adoption textbook

materials or k-12 um in your packet you have um in essence the grading rubric used for use by the state all the materials here meet the state guidelines um for all criteria um there's three different well there's three programs here at the elementary you have my myview literacy um from savas at the middle school level you have steady sync from mcgraw-hill and then you have my perspectives from and then you have the summary notes um from each building committee um from on the policy form uh iiar [Music] and materials are back there on that table uh as well all of these uh uh curriculum nowadays seem to have a heavy uh digital component um yvonne can you go to the school website real quick and go to the curriculum page and there you go go

to language arts adoption [Music] yes i can thank you and so again we adopt uh again one curriculum every seven years because again we saw foreign language of spanish this year again because we were one cycle off we're playing catch up with world languages if you go like you click on the language adoption right there and so this has the digital uh links for materials and review um for anybody that does want to come in and actually sift through the physical books just a few yeah um they're there and yeah and so um and again we'll send this to all of the board members as well um but um we just um thank spoke but we went through and uh we've got all of our final uh cost quotes because we've got additional training in

here um for use in the new curriculum materials and um and typically we budget about a hundred thousand dollars per adoption cycle and so like again typically we take what isn't spent in one cycle we roll forward for the next because they balance cycle the cycle um but again with all of the new digital components and and publishers continually updating through the cycle now with the digital materials and student books uh tend to be now consumable two editions and they're sending those out of the year they're updating those on annual cycles so instead of again like world languages about forty thousand dollars that sixty thousand would typically roll forward and 160 typically what we expect what we have now for the next six year cycle is about 340 000 for language arts so meaning we're

coming in under budget no no or it's over oh yes right and so um and again this is um we're again we're talking about this with the county superintendents and uh this is going to be everybody's uh largest curriculum adoption debate simply just it is this is what it is costing [Music] typically even our top-end books even with math a few years ago were maybe a hundred dollars a unit these tend to be going [Music] between 150 and 175 a unit depending on the level with a six year subscription service but again we're able to put a lot of this on on some of the federal brands and so just go ahead yeah another question on this scanning in the background paragraph the second paragraph that says they've been on display or online for 30

days they will be since may 6th right oh yeah they've been on the display since may 6th would have to be on so so we'll have them for the next quarter meeting yeah and if we have any um you know significant challenge that we need to re-review we still have time to get things together for the next uh you have do you have uh suggestions or solutions for the funding issue well again we're putting these on uh on our federal essar dollars okay yeah because that's a lot of this has diagnostic material which is the criteria for um after sales okay that's right so yes all right directors any questions directly tim long drama any questions about this no i'm fine with all that thank you bob okay thank you but basically this will be

on the agenda likely for final approval uh yeah june 8 yesterday yeah all right thank you very much so 6.2 the budgets uh actually this will be on the agenda for june 8 to finalize the budget that uh mr g you have some comments to well um again looking at my in my board report we have some additional since the last week we've had additional state funding come in for summer enrichment programs k-12 summer school grants and then we've got retention and training programs for faculty and staff [Music] and we talk about our budget being an estimate and so again since the last meeting we've had another potential 321 000 of you know revenue that will come in depending on how much of it we're able to expend and claim um and again we can

if you want we can add this in as in part of the proposed budget and make some of the other like contract salary corrections in that proposed budget for judaism if you'd like us to or we can leave it and then make the corrections in the actual budget um because none of these are going to add up to that 10 threshold well before the overall is the is the additional revenue is that 100 certain yes okay yeah uh i don't see any reason why if it's an absolute circle let's just go ahead and make it make the adjustments now okay yeah yeah we can do that how much of that 321 ish is dedicated or aimed at retention 157 000. so a little more than that so we've got yeah we've got for 108.4k summer

school enrichment we've got 55 for the 612 for 912 academic and then 157 000 for um yeah reimbursable for retention and training i'm uh i'm just going to ask for a thumbs up thumb down uh not a regular motion but uh about making the adjustments before the meeting the eighth so we have all the current information yes perfect yeah thumbs up director pimlock yes doing a video for you are you a thumbs up on that yes okay thank you all right so there you go sir can we take a break from this part of the agenda and go back to mrs yeah it was perfect i i can offer some explanation there too when i showed wendy the text she said that's not my number so the reason when he went to the middle school

is because i've been there i've done that all right so winnie welcome i bet you were done [Music] the high school student represented welcome taken away yeah uh so i'd like to start off my may 2022 report with the fact that all spring sports have welcomed the end this month will be coming to an end this month and in regards to our esports uh their inaugural season first came to an end on april 29th and they ended their season in new zealand when their super smash bros team uh however ian young eric the nelson and emilio had a great play for the east eastwards team to make it to the playoffs in their first year shows a great amount of potential and hollow from them and they're allowed into these best practices and recruitment in

the high school business tech lab after school with mr looney and mr milky through thursday from three o'clock to five o'clock pm and for our golf team the boys had district last thursday and friday and the us happy district is monday and tuesday uh track and field will be having three meets for this month of may it includes a sky in bosnia me a district and the state and the osa for a state championship meet will be held at haywood field on may 20th and may 21st and the boys are also aiming for the league title i'm sorry this is what the camera is yeah okay okay um earlier this month we also had prom on may 7th and we elected the court members among the seniors our apprentices were elizabeth milton gracie tooken nina

it'll be a night where the band will be hanging out awards carrying a job gameplay and give them a recommendation to some individuals fire is also working hard on your songs they are booked the same for the evening excellence and the concert will be on wednesday june 6 june 8th excuse seriously which is ironically an exploit meeting the leadership has been working on several different coaching projects the ninth graders had the election and speech for next year's position and earlier this month they had a recycled trash contest whoever went out collected trash and made the best art composition from that won the contest and one of our leadership student is also handing out other props to everybody i am doing a countdown poster for the seniors in which it will show the number of calendars

calendar days left until they uh graduate and i am also working on creating senior bios or spotlight put in the facebook page and a powder club tournament will also be held and lastly we have a spirit week in which we have dressed up days which is being planned by some of the leaderships and that's improved because i have all the mistakes thank you very much all right we went out of 6.3 we don't have a second reading that we're on the consent agenda first readings let's just go back [Music] veterans preferences is a review only uh item zero five one one two two six one four point again senate bill 184 modified statutes to replace the term preference points with percentage points applications of veterans preference during screening interviewing and appointing processes for public employers

uh we'll also add criteria in statutes for disabled veterans this clarifies language from within another policy and sets it outside in a separate policy administration recommends a review of the changes as for the unit yeah this pulls out the language uh specifically from inside another policy and just states it as a separate administrative rule so that way as a veterans administration changes uh hiring practices we can update this without having to continue to go back to policy and make it clear all the way across so your recommendation is we just move this for the second reading yeah if this is an administrative rule you don't need to do anything and most people have questions of clarification and i'll just write the changes in as well okay oh it says right here okay so 6.4.2 um

uh we've got statutory changes regarding employee records and disclosure of information to prospective employees within 20 days of receipt [Music] requests from former employers from former employees are treated in the same way and records are still considered confidential and not public records as defined within the ors 192 series the proposed changes in gdl also render policy gbla disclosure of information obsolete so as we update and amend gdl of pausing gbla disclosure information would be deleted as you look at the records policy in gbl items 9 and 11. are the language items from policy gdla gdla yes has been incorporated into policy gbl so it is an essence for them and so this is an item that is the board is satisfied it could be put on the consent agenda for june no objection this is

a review only um yeah house bill legislation passed in 2021 this clarifies periods of employment regarding when people can actually initiate family leave um because right at the beginning of the onset of the pandemic uh the family first corona relief act was passed and there are people that had been recently employed and then were eligible but only had been employed for a few days or did not have full-time schedules and all of a sudden we're going out on leave and they've only been literally employed for hours and this also for us combines and clarifies family medical the federal legislation oregon family state and oregon military family leave act um it's all explained within the one policy so essentially changes that we're looking at here are likely hopefully not ever going to be needed right but

we're saying that again you have to be at least a half-time employee and have been on working for at least 30 days before you qualify for family learning from uh yes from what we went through two years ago yes um and the other piece that kind of came up as a side note as we were looking at this in in committee is that beginning january 2023 oregon's paid family medical insurance act will begin and employees could buy into that coverage it's uh rates are going to cap it one percent of salary and the rate is going to be split 60 40 between employer employee employer and so this would be um so the employee would pay the stitches employee plays 60 of that employer pays 40 percent so this would be um an easier way

for staff to have you know their medically covered um without having to go into all of their uh so all right that's a review only so review only absolutely they're all right in the 6.4.4 okay now the special education um administrative rules are ones that do require board adoption okay okay um another special set um [Music] and then we have the same language appears in both of these in um i g b a f a r and i-g-b-a-g-a-r and both talk about special education students when they start to become of age and rights transfer to them uh having the ability to make um in essence their own choices when it comes to transition services and what they're looking to do in the future and sometimes uh and some students are going to have situations where

there's guardianship beyond 18 but a lot of students beginning at age they become much more involved in their long-term plans for beyond high school um and so again this would be a first reading um and uh carry this through as a separate item under a vote okay so let's reply to both yes if you again looking at both of these uh pieces of policy if you look at page 117 of your packet there is [Music] two highlighted passages and again we're talking about students have the ability again for self-determination and independence a lot of this has to do with their training ability for employment and parents getting the that notification of service from office of developmental disability services and you'll see very similar language if not the exact same thing in the safeguards section and

i want to say that it is only on page ing to promote self determination and independence it's um passage good all right refuge if there's no objection we'll put this on agenda for june [Music] item zero five one one two two six point four point five um again uh talented and gifted program uh again so we've got policy change and uh statute admin requirement with each dominant gift of program parents has the ability to discuss the district programs and services um [Music] with someone on staff this actually brings the state requirements [Music] into alignment with district practice and this could go to the consent yeah any objections to you in the consent agenda and no all right hearing none so we will do that move on with reporting information before we talk about the supernatural

report i have a brief report the baseball team pulled off a win go tank very strong possibility that they could get at least one focusing [Music] okay um so new employees uh certified uh we've got a couple uh people first that do not appear in the report that are um have third pla pre-employment processes today uh first audrey bluestose behavior support classroom middle school rsl petty porter middle school world languages spanish teacher for stutter supplemental school heather dykstra educational aids at elementary school resignations administrative mr greene assistant principal science middle school i'm certified um shannon graham first grade science elementary henry first grade south side elementary director welch first grades i decided on lecturing code keisling band middle in high school this is miguel special education since the high school classified marshall looney independent aid

classroom middle school angela apobacca ytp coordinator high school jennifer beets hr specialist district office and we're retiring mrs mitchell emotional support teacher middle school phil cohen special education aid elementary peggy arnold education aide slash elementary and uh mrs b davidson educational aides all right okay um a little policy uh reference um dba budget committee a little clarification from our last meeting a policy dba on the structure of the budget committee will be up for review and religion and revision next fall through osba because there's been some recent legislative change but again our policy can't be stricter than current law and um it is our reading on it that last meeting was correct we're with open seats it's still a 14 membership it requires a dual again a double majority um to be present um and

the last couple days i've been getting policy notices and i'm going to try to pull this up for june and it should be a simple one reading on administration of medications and there will be policy jchd jchda [Music] because we normally have the ability for um we have we administer um medications from anaphylactic shock the epinephrine shots there's going to be a push coming up to have narcan available in schools just because unfortunately um synthetic fentanyl seems to be everywhere and um good kids accidentally do stupid things um i don't want anybody making a fatal mistake just because of some so that um and um our nurse is working with uh one of the doctors of peace health for securing supplies from campus right now but we'll get the policy piece cleaned up for that

right now um again in my notes here you have the additional grants post april 14th and so again that's a net roughly 300 [Music] some thousand dollars okay 493.67 if we spent everything in there if we were able to um again with the amount of money we have in the enrichment programs and um summer academic support um you know we'll have tutoring during summer school we'll have transportation available uh and as much as um [Music] we don't want to say it pandemic is not over we've got reopening requirements and we're not reopening because we haven't closed but we're still calling it reopening but um until there's a better word so listed below is again all of the things are required to make sure that are documented and ready to go by august 26th and what

we're working through right now is why is this a building by building plan and not again district level plan that's where for us a building level plan works because we're one building one level all the way across but if you're a larger district and you have 15 elementary schools and three middle schools some of this could be redundant but i think part of it is that they want to make sure that they know that what people in the building are responsible for for their own tasks so i've just listed out in essence how i'm probably going to spend live july and um there's a couple spots in here where i've highlighted a few things with red where it is sample language template language so these are not um determinations they're just things that um they're

anticipating possibly for the fall when they're looking at potential faults or just developments for communication and um things to slow transmission rates and so so i just kind of listed the shortcut for that template in there um overall uh attendance has been um fairly smooth for middle school high school um elementary attendance has been a little a little bumpier um over the last couple weeks but that's been more cold than flu and i think precautionary holdouts than anything else it's hard to get a good read on what you know why kids are up because there's so much more home testing going on and we're only getting you know official reports every other week you know from state in canada so um from my end i'm just kind of laying out the next you know state

of work but again um our big events coming up here may 20th all stat reading retiree celebration 26 scholarship night 31st evening of excellence and of course june 10th graduation i don't need to belabor my report anymore because i see other people who want to talk about their reports back there what time is the all staff and do you want us there hey i want you there and b bonnie will tell me what time you gotta wait for the high school and middle school to get out he said 2 30. yeah now i'm assuming that you're going to need this possibility yeah yes can you say here we say okay so have you had anybody explicitly volunteer for handing out diplomas [Music] oh all we know is that it's going to be at least two

more members yeah okay uh john barnett indicated he would do it but he would also determine to anybody else if anybody else wanted to do it specifically i think the bigger determination is when do we have to have the programs off to the printer because because the day before that we know what board members that's right are going in [Music] it's unfortunate director is not here and i guess i was going to strongly urge him i'm going to i'm going to make an executive decision i'm going to put mr locker down for handing out okay um it's easier to ask forgiveness well again because that would be a good spot for him again with his son going through that's kind of been where we have more members of patron graduating up front [Music] interested in

participating in that john barnett has said he would be happy to frank i can't commit right now i possibly i may be able to make that could i give you a day or two yeah director barnett said he would be happy to do it but he also want to make it clear he would defer to anybody else because he's done and it's just two right yeah yeah yeah yeah well you okay okay so we'll put ryan and john mine yeah i'm holding out for the class of 32. okay all right any highlights we've all looked at your reports thank you all very much for them uh and i'm looking at the owl here because i know mr monroe is watching too but uh if you guys have any highlights you want to shout out i'm

happy to hear them i'll just say we had a terrific transition night for our fifth graders going to sixth grade was tomorrow and the middle school staff set up a scavenger hunt and the fifth grade teachers came and kids got to explore the middle school and meet teachers and then we also did a day visit where we walked the fifth graders over and they got together and play and so uh fifth graders were pretty jazzed about moving out to middle school so i would say that was a big treat for them it was very well attended the evening session as well so and how was the kindergarten kickoff oh it was amazing we had oh i think over 50 families show up we pre-registered for kindergarten um we serve 92 grab-and-go meals for families kids

got to meet the kindergarten teachers for next year and see different places in the school where they'll be going so a lot of good conversation teachers are really excited with the number of families that came and attended so that was a lot of fun that just happened last last week on the same night in the fifth graders when the middle school eighth graders came to high school for much the same we were able to launch the course catalog i have we had about 90 students 80 some to 90 students there and it was much same very well attended uh highly engaged got to tour the school and see just some of the the course offerings yeah it will happen okay okay all right thank you guys uh i mean that in a non-gender specific way

uh all right mr guskoyak are you talking about next friday week from friday the retirees and all staff graduation osba summer conference is the weekend after the fourth of july starts on friday the eighth ninth and tenth in bin if you have interest in doing please let the mrs mcfarland know and we won't know about scheduling vince adams for the strategic vision workshop until after we find out the results of our our grant today for a lot of that so we'll know about that hopefully maybe looking down the road the meetings we haven't talked about uh no meeting in july no nobody to swear in august 17th would be our first regular meeting of the new school year and then the september meeting would be on the 14th so all right uh directors director milton

to copenhagen but yes oh director can you send any shout outs all right uh director pamela do you have anything for the order i do have you know kind of a comment question really i noticed andy that we had three first grade teachers resigned um including shannon graham and and um and rachel and both have been here a long time i'm i'm wondering um did we conduct exit interviews and and are there any learnings that you can share from those interviews i haven't sent that group their exit interview forms yet they'll get them this month um but i have talked with the administrators as to why they are leaving they're all leaving for personal we've got family reasons and shannon is a second grade teacher i know she's yeah but she's yeah yeah it does
