So I think that just speaks very highly of what we have going on here in Madison Consolidated Schools. Uh, second, I'd like to give a shout out to Jay. Uh, you have done a lot of work with regards to the pool. Um, it's not a cheap fix, but I can honestly say that I feel comfortable spending that amount of money based on what you were able to do and working with the contractors and the solution to our problem. So, thank you. Um, I got a shout out to somebody who's not a
school employee, but you see him just about at every athletic event, and that's Dan Harden. The man takes incredible pictures and videos and posts them on social media and it really highlights um at an individual level um what we have going on here for the athletics. Um and I just want to wish everybody a merry Christmas and to have a safe and happy break. >> Thank you, Jody. Dustin, I think they've covered everything. Uh yeah, I'd like to say, you know, it is great seeing the students here and understanding just a small part of the process of your school system and how, you know, the the school board works. Even if it's just taking an hour in of a schoolboard meeting, it's important to kind of understand that process as you get older and become adults and understand how your tax dollars work and flow. So, thank you guys
for coming. And um also want to say, you know, the pool, so happy that we're getting it fixed. We felt like the pool is a very important part of our community, the fabric of our community. we, you know, school places around us kind of struggle for pools. So, that's something we're kind of super proud to have and continue to grow our swimming program. So, I'm glad that we got that fixed. Thank you, Jay. I know there's a stressful month or two or 10 there, but thanks for kind of sticking through and getting that done. Um, and then, you know, to echo what everybody said about our leadership, um, congrats Dr. Brown, Jennifer, um, Josh, you know, when I ran for school board, people would say, "Oh, you're crazy. Why do you want to be on
the school board?" But knock on wood, like with the leadership we have and everything, it's it's been a smooth ride so far. So, and that's just an echo to the awards you won and everything else. And Dave is mad I just cursed us. But yeah, >> that's all right. It's all right. We'll take it. Uh, happy holidays everybody. Merry Christmas. But I but I think we have a whole school corporation of of individuals that are Yeah. of superstars that are that are deserving of a awards very well. Um, again, Josh, Jennifer, you guys are awesome. Great job. One thing I learned on being on a school board is uh don't miss the January meeting because if you miss the January meeting to go ice fishing, which I have the last two years,
you end up president. So, if uh all my three years the board, one thing I've learned is is don't miss the January meeting. But but I'll be ending my uh two years as president of the school board. It's it's uh I'm sure I will unless I miss the meeting and going, which I'm not going to this time. I'm going to be here for this time. But it truly has been an honor to uh to be the board president and to sit next to to these outstanding ladies and and in such a special board. um what we've accomplished I think over the last three years is is is pretty remarkable and then I think an accomplishment of what we're all proud of. But um I just like to end by saying how honored I am to
uh to be on a board and work with our our superintendent, Dr. Brown. She exemplifies great leadership and what and what I mean by that is um she knows when to get involved and she knows when to stand back and she certainly knows how to put outstanding people in place to assist her with her job and that's what makes a successful corporation or a school and uh and she's she's done a great job in doing that. So >> we appreciate her very much. Having said that, we want to wish everybody a merry Christmas and and and safe uh holiday season and we'll see you back in January. And I'll definitely be here for the >> All right. First of all, code word, teachers rock. Those of you that are online in Mrs. Brim's education profession
classroom, that's your code word for today. Um also, I would like to recognize um another one of our employees, um John Shy. last week uh was in Minnesota and he was attending a CHS foundation meeting. um out of hundreds of um of award potentials, they selected uh John and the farmtop as second in the nation um for an innovative program that's having an impact and the and that's from the grocerers and the farmers and I'm sure I messed that up, Ashley. I'm sorry. Um, I want to thank Ashley for also going with John and for Shawn's role in helping again with the award nominations. Um, and that award last week, John received $15,000 to use in the farm stop. So, it's pretty incredible. I appreciate all the work that they're doing. Um, John, yeah, thank
