Before we begin honoring the Ashland seniors, we would like to take the moment to honor the 11 seniors from Holliston who have undoubtedly had left an impression on
002their program and school. Kelly DePoto Jael Oliver, Sarah Shellings, Abigail Langen, Maeve Jordan Lila Feldman Bridget Malvey Avery Ash Amelia Cain Amelia Langdon and Autumn Smith. Congratulations on making it this far. I'm sure you'll be missed. At this time, we'd like to direct everyone's attention to the field as tonight we honor Ashland girls lacrosse class of 2026. These two seniors will leave this team having worked together over the last four years to set a high standard for Ashland lacrosse through all their hard work, dedication, and passion. It is because of the of the knowledge and leadership of these individuals that the girls lacrosse program has such a bright future. 003And now introducing your Ashland seniors. First, number nine, captain Ashley Forrester. Escorted by her mother Rosemary, her dad Dave, her sister Lizzie, and her brother Tim. Ashley has been a four-year varsity player spending most of her career on defense making an impact at midfield this season. So far in her career, she has 36 goals and 16 assists. She was a TVL honorable mention all-star in 2025 and the team defensive player of the year in 2025. Ashley will attend the University of Kentucky to study business. Good luck in the future, Ashley. And now number 13, captain Lilly Fiddy. Lilly is escorted by her mother Heather and her father Dave and her sister Ava. Lilly has been a four-year varsity player being at the core of the attack the entire time. She currently has 159 goals and
00442 assists in her career. She was TVL honorable mention all-star in 2025 and the team rookie of the year in 2023. I mean, volunteered for it. So, good for her for stepping in for the team and also

009uh looks and and putting the ball in the net. Yeah, the generally speaking, it's been a lower scoring team than in the last couple of years. Last night was an exception to that where they got 11 goals. I think they were averaging something like nine. So, uh it was a little better. Ashlyn did a real nice job there of collecting the ball and then moving it to the outside when there was no shot shooting lane for her. Peyton over to Aaron. Aaron back to Maggie McGuinness. Bringing the ball to X here. Looking like they set up a play, probably Yukon. It's iso play to Lilly. Yeah, they wait to see what the defense is going to do and then try to react to it. Uh this is sort of a modified version cuz it came
010over with a potential pick, but nothing really came out of it. Yep. Looks like the rains have stopped, too. So, we hopefully will stay dry here for most of the game. Nothing worse than a a soaking wet senior night. So, nice look to Maggie down middle there. Gets swallowed up by the defense. Not Not going to blame Aaron for uh for that, you know, she's trying to put the ball where it has to go, but I've seen a lot of forces over the last couple games, which I'd hope they have a little more patience and a little bit stronger cuts. As you say, there there are times when the team is rather unselfish trying to pass to their teammates when maybe the better course would be just to hold on to it for a bit and look for a better opportunity. That time, they they took their time and eventually got themselves a nice shot. We always talk about how draw control is so important, but Kevin, this is going to be one of those games that really comes down to just controlling that ball, especially off the draw and then and then maintaining possession. So, Maggie McGinness, good job there chasing it down is Ashley Forrester. Margaret Morton came up with the ball for Holliston, charged right down the middle. Couldn't get much of a shot off. I tell you what, they the ref seemed to

018year. Even their goalie, that's a tough one to lose. Uh she's a good goaltender, Amelia Langen. Uh she's I remember her from last year. Just a strong goalie making a lot of saves and keeping them in a lot of games. Not not dissim- dissimilar to Ashland the last couple of years graduating a lot of seniors, so uh the result is a team like this one, which has a lot of freshmen. And it's a young team, which great news is they're only going to get better. But playing against girls that are three, sometimes four years older than them, it's a difficult transition. Size is a factor. I mean, we already have a small team, and then when you bring in, you know, people that have a smaller size. Ooh, nice shot there by number 13. >>

She's just getting in the way and and that's part of being a goalie is is taking a couple lumps. And man, she took some major lumps in the game. I saw her before the game the last home game. She had bruises all over her body and her legs. She had caught one between her kneecaps. That one hurt. And man, that's just brutal. Um as a goaltender in the boys game, I know that it it's not fun. It always makes it for an exciting night when the crowd gets to cheer and hold up the signs and hit the cymbals for a a milestone. And it's youth night. Got our our youth players here cheering on that, which is always makes it a little more exciting. Get more people in the at the barn, even though it's not a barn, but get more people in the stands and and cheering. It it just gets the players hyped up a little bit better. So 4-3

That is That was fantastic. Off I mean, next year, what are we going to have? Probably 15 seniors next year if if uh You're going to have to call in a backup voice. 077of coaching those girls all the way through their youth program and and it's exciting time for us as parents and coaches to see them get to that point of finishing their career. You know, I'm going to get all emotional and probably that night when it happens and putting the senior video together is going to make me cry just like it did when Paige came through. 085Counting how many of the goals have come from free position, but it's a it's a big number. You know, we're usually blessed with uh some good refs, but a lot of times the refs are and a little older and don't quite get to the right spot. So, I think a part of having these kind of newer refs that obviously look a little more agile. More agile, yeah. Uh can be in the right position to make those calls. I think that's also probably part of it to you know, when you have a good angle and a good sight line, it it's it's easier to call those correctly and versus you know, trotting up to the 40 and making a call from there. So, you know, looking at what's happened this year and how we're doing, um and you know, just with the loss of two seniors for next year, you know, I was I always look for good things for this year, but uh just looking to see what we can do for next year. It's going to be pretty you know, it's our last home game, last chance we get to talk about this. So, um just love the fact that all these seniors going to come together next year, hopefully with the right attitude and and uh have a solid gold tender as their backing, and have a solid defensive core that's been there for a couple years, and have some offensive players that have
102been there doing it for a couple years, too. So, if coach Katie can reel it in and and get these girls to do what they need to do, I really I have really high hopes for next year. On paper, looks good. We are going to miss these seniors for certain. The good news is there's there's only two of them. Uh you know, when you're trying to replace seven, eight, nine, 10, that's really hard. Replacing two of them seems like a much more manageable task. Yes. So, with with players coming in to to high school, uh with other players getting a year older, a year stronger, a year faster, you you can make up for for the exceptional play of of Ashley and of Lilly.
