Hold this meeting here. We got one excused. Conference stand as to the flag of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. May be seated. Executive session, personnel matters, student matters, property matter, no state. >> Yes, we do. >> We do. >> Yes, >> we do. >> Who's that young man with the beard? >> I'm not >> Which one? Which one? >> Which which young? >> Either one wants to say young either. >> Well, Lord. Wow. Two of them at the same time. They have something. Three of them in here. >> Three act board members sitting in the same I thought about that. I think that when we first started out, John, I I said I wasn't a sprinter. I was a long

distance runner. I'm a marathon man. The marathon man is still here and I see three sprinters out. >> Hey, before we go shave, I'm here with a check. I'm just saying. >> So, we got to check that. >> All right. All right. So you got to laugh in good. So guest presentation guest presentation. >> So we have the representatives from the Hannah Foundation who are here to present the school district with a check in the amount of $12,000. And that is to cover 10 dual enrollment scholarships in the amount of $1,200 for our high school students who would like to partake in dual enrollment. Maybe they have a financial need. They hadn't thought about, you know, that their families could do this. And so now our foundation has partnered with us so generously to make

this uh a reality for 10 of our students. And this is just the beginning. and we are very uh appreciative of Mr. John Fabian and we also have uh Dwayne Dour. So if you would like to come up and just have some words and then we're going to do a check presentation uh take some pictures and tell our community what a wonderful partnership we have with you all. we want to thank you for >> as Dwayne um and as honest for my sprinting abilities at the beginning of the meeting. Now I'm joking now. It's been, I think, for Dwayne and I both in both the capacity of the alumni association and and Hannah Foundation, it's been a true honor to serve um in both capacity. And regarding this dual enrollment, the foundation, while it has

stopped and started in various ways, it's always been continuous. And I think from our board, one of the greatest attributes we've had is we've been extremely good stewards to the funds that have been bestowed to the foundation. Um, when there's been pauses where whether it just be we didn't have the activity, we've been able to pull back a bit and wait for the great opportunities to come. So, as Dr. Willis said, this is only the beginning. We have really tried to identify needs where we understand the scale, the scope of the district's budget and sometimes a lot of these dollars don't seem like they're going to have that impact immediately. But truly trying to find the budget items that can be additive and these sorts of dollar amounts and then growing from there and really

hoping I think from Dwayne and I's perspective is you know we have beards for a reason. Bring in some young blood and bring in some new board members. just I'm trying to hide >> bring in that next generation of educators and really then rebuild the foundation as well as the alumni association as we keep going um and then pass it on to that next generation. So being stewards to those funds and then finding great programs like this where we're giving our graduates a great opportunity to have a leg up and we're all seeing the postsecary world change. So, I think being on the forefront as a district is something we all take a lot of great pride in and the foundation couldn't be any more ecstatic in partnering with the high school and Dr. Willis

and the township and allowing uh you know some some great bright young students with a great future the opportunity to earn some credits ahead of time. So, no I got nothing else anymore. >> He said we're stewards. He likes to spend on the tight line. So, it works together. I will add this before we go into the um the check will add that um the foundation is the reason that we have uh communities and schools in our buildings. They actually brought funds in initially to offset the cost for our first site coordinator um and now they're in all of our buildings because they continued to fund raise as the district was able to find the money over time. So they are the reason that we even have those uh folks in our building. So thank

you for that. Um the last thing that I will share is that our own SUA is a benefactor of this very scholarship. >> Yes. And so um we are going to come down do a big photo with you all and uh Sula if you don't mind can you join us since she's one of our uh awardes. >> Awesome. The X is always X. >> Yeah. >> All right. Take our picture. You need to be close to the chair. >> Do you want me to Can you guys like turn this way? >> This way. What? >> Turn. You're kind of like >> Are we good? You need to like orient yourself. Turn this way because I'm getting this way. There you go. >> All right. >> Not every day, >> right? This is our text. >>

Hey, we're old people over here. >> Yes. Okay. All right. >> All right. >> Good. Thank you all. I'm going to hold on to the checks for the next presentation. >> Okay. >> All right. Thank you guys. >> Thank you. >> All right. >> Yes. >> And while we're taking our seats, I'll also uh mention that um we would love to have this opportunity for students who are looking to attend trade schools. Um, and so we are exploring that opportunity, those options. Unfortunately, some of the trade schools won't allow students who are under the age of 18 to sign on until um they are an adult. So, we don't have as many opportunities, but we we don't just we're not assuming that every um learner wants to go to college. There are other opportunities uh

beyond graduation other than college, but this is a start. Uh, and we'll continue to explore those um those other opportunities as we go forward. So, thank you to the Hannah Foundation. We appreciate you. >> No. Uh, engineering uh day 100 um doesn't matter. We're still out of budget in class. Uh, buildings and grounds. Student rep. Right. So, we have our presentation for October. First, starting with Sarah Linamuth. Slack has selected a second grade leadership team called colony builders. These students have display displayed positive bee behavior such as being safe, respectful, and responsible. They are training to provide school tours to new students staff as well as make videos on behavior expectations. They're also going to participate in the PBIS beginning and end of year assembly. At the top, you can see them pictured with their

custom colony builder shirts and badges. Slack also had a prog progress fire station or the progress fire station visited Slack. This was a valuable education experience that taught learners fire safety and what it is like to be a first responder. Each class had a chance to see the fire truck, firefighters, and their equipment. Slack also held its first October Fest hosted by the PTO. Over 550 individuals attended during this time. Students had the opportunity to visit or students and families had the opportunities to visit the Scholastic Bookf Fair to buy books, play fall festive games, decorate pumpkins, and enjoy some slack or some snacks made by the Slack staff. There were many volunteers such as Andrea Wikart, our United Way liaison, as well as Sarah Lynwood teachers, parents, Susan Township middle and high school students.

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make this a success for our Slack families. Thomas Holtzman also had um a fire team come visit them on October 15th. Rescue 37 came to Holtzman to teach our learners about fire prevention and safety. They got to see firefighters in their gear as well as a firet truck up close. Thomas Holtzman also on October 21st had students and students and staff will be participating in the best day ever provided by Popcore Kids. the the school raised over $30,000 during their fundraiser with the company and because of that we'll be able to fund their PBS programs for the school for the school year and beyond. On October 30th, Susuana's annual trunk or treat event will be held at the state police headquarters on Elmerton Avenue. This is open

to all students kindergarten through 8ighth grade at Susana Township. All high school clubs and Susana staff are welcome to participate and or attend with their families. This event is co-hosted by the Wholesome PTO and the PA State Police. I would highly recommend you go. Um, it's very fun. I'll be there dressed as Toad. My friends are doing Mario Kart, so I would recommend you come and you dress up, too. >> Can we bring our cars and open? >> Oh, yeah, for sure. >> Yes. You just have to register. >> Y Susan Township Middle School, they had their fall PBIS and sore spirit week. Students were encouraged to dress for safety, ownership, accountability, and respect. At first they dressed in safety gear because the school is a safe place. And then the next day they dressed

as CEOs to demonstrate ownership. Next they dressed as they wore jerseys to demonstrate their accountability to their school and teams. Um I'm not seeing enough Eagles jerseys, but >> I don't know. With their last few games, I don't know if I'd be wearing one either. It's not going to >> um they also wore a cultural attire to demonstrate respect for one another. And then this was their Friday where they wore red and black and to um represent and support their school. Overall, this the middle school had a successful spirit week. And then the Susan Natasha High School. This Friday, the 24th, the high school will have their fall fest, a PBS event for the high school to provide positive to highlight positive academics and behaviors. The high school has also implemented tier 1 intervention, which

teachers are working to implement with the goal of supporting learning and student performance in creative ways. The high school also had a successful homecoming with all 350 tickets sold. Um, the high school also had a successful pinkout game. Sorry, that's not listed. Um, and senior night, the football team carries on to be 9 and0 and will be playing Milton Hershey this Friday at Milton Hershey. So, if you want to see a 10 and0, I would help out. >> That's all I have. >> Hey, you already did your foundation. You did that. Thank you. If >> I could have one more thing just with the in the recent uh we'll say wins within the foundation. Also, the pantry was originally uh pioneered and sponsored through the foundation and in which we then spun it off to

a 501c3 as it clearly had a core mission that was away from an education foundation, but just for references, I know we have some new board members and that was something that really was built out of the pandemic and then turned into something a very unique. So >> thank you for sharing that as well. Yes. >> Harrisburg College Dolphin County Techno. No, Dolphin County text may do county technical school. >> Uh yes, there's only two things I'd like to mention. Uh first of all, I you know, Dolphin County Tech is uh dear to my heart, but I'd like to present something to you guys to take a look at. Uh just to emphasize that no, you don't have to go to college to achieve in life, do things in life. Um but this was something

that uh I I think needed to happen. Um if you could play that for me, please. >> One vocational school in the Midstate is now the owner of a brand new car. Harry Murphy has the details from Dolphin County. >> Here at Dolphin County Technical School, hands-on learning is the way. And thanks to one local business, things just got a whole lot more interesting for automotive technology students. >> Having a partnership with Faulner Nissan and them donating this vehicle to us just is incredible. It gives our students hands-on opportunities to learn from current and state-of-the-art equipment. Faulner Nissan paying it forward, donating a 2024 Nissan Rogue to the Dolphin County Technical School, providing students the opportunity to learn about the complex technology used in today's vehicles. >> The future is going to be in all

of the safety technology that are in these vehicles and all of the sonar and radar systems that come with that. Uh, this vehicle is equipped with all of the top-of-the-line Nissan safety tech. It's going to allow them to train on that, to understand how to calibrate it, and to make sure that they are prepared for that going forward into the industry. >> And educators agree. School administration says the addition of the 2024 Rogue to the school's existing fleet of vehicles will help set students up for post-graduate success like never before. >> It's just an amazing opportunity for our students to see the new technology that goes into the vehicles. It gets them much more well prepared for uh the workforce once they get out there. they have experience um hands-on experience which just will allow

them to move further in their careers. Uh something state-of-the-art like this vehicle that they're donating is just um is just an amazing opportunity for our students. >> Now, the school will be using this 2024 Nissan right away to educate their students about the advanced technology that's found in newer cars in Dolphin County. I'm Harry Murphy, ABC27 News. Hi, I'm Eric. >> As you can see, it's it's important. Obviously, we all have cars that are new. We have uh newer vehicles. We don't have older vehicles. So, these kids are going to learn on vehicles that we're driving around in now. So, if you have any electrical issues or anything wrong with your car, even I mean, if you don't have a 2024, if you have a 2020, 2018, uh that's still the same type of technology

that's in these vehicles. These kids are going to be learning on it. They're going to be preparing themselves prior to graduation. a lot of them are working in it now um in these fields. A lot of them are at shops right now that are they're they're that are doing these this technology. Um, it's important because, you know, the way the economy is, the way things are right now, a lot of kids aren't going to be able to afford to go to school. And to have this backing them up, to have the skill, the ability, the knowledge, and, you know, all the tools that Dolby County Technical School is giving them, um, it it reassures us, it reassures them, it reassures our families, you know, that, hey, my child's going to move forward in life, and

it's important to give them that, uh, you know, that encouragement and and that knowledge. Um, second thing I'd like to mention is October is the 80th anniversary of uh the disabilities and uh and contributions in the workplace. In other words, hiring people with disabilities. It's important to uh also acknowledge those who don't have, you know, full capabilities to uh to give them some type of employment, some type of uh, you know, purpose in life, you know, to to to make them feel. But uh yeah, we wanted to recognize that also in the month of October. Uh it's called National Disabilities. But that's about it. That's all I had for technical school. >> Yeah, I'm just going to add that was a a great gift from Nissan I was part of and it was really nice.

And the other thing that I wanted to to mention, I don't know if Mr. I learned online about but um our van the red van I'm tired of seeing the back door torn off what what not torn off but it needs some repairs. You can take it to the vote. They'll fix it. only thing you have to pay for the parts because I like for you to take it out there because apparently someone backed into something and it's been that way for the last two years. And uh and I was just thinking about they need work to do. They they have they have they do all the painting. You just all you have to do just take it out. They'll order the door. You pay for it. They'll paint it and you drop it off

and put it on. >> I want to add to that uh Mr. express it. My lawnmower broke and my handle broke and there were a few things that were wrong with it. I took it out there. The kids repaired it within two days and I treated them all to pizza >> cuz they need they need that work. >> They need that work. That experience >> that experience. >> Matter of fact, I'm dropping a car off tomorrow. They do inspection >> because the kids need that training, you know, and so it most people don't understand that as long as you live in Dolphin County, you can take things out. Welding, if you got a lawnmower that's messed up and need some welding, drop it off. They the kids enjoy doing it. I took something out. They

just It's better than them cutting up steel, welding steel, and throwing it in the dumpster. And you can do that. So, to you and uh Mr. Johnson, I really want to take my hat off to you because you really bring a great report back every time. And >> I've been on the board a long time and I never brought reports back like you bring them back and I I really appreciate that. >> Those videos and you you enlighten and it's better than just talking. So you really bring a good insight. So I really want to thank you. >> Thank you. I just think you know everyone needs to know that. I mean, you know, we we emphasize education on these kids and that's part of their education in life. You know, the things that they're

going to learn outside of their graduation, outside of school, you know, you need to know something outside of here. Um, it it's not only just books, you know, and Dr. Willis, I want to thank you because you play a big part. See, the superintendent meet every month at the Votech and they give their insight and and our director give his insight. So she if they need something or whatever, she will say to me, "Well, I think we should go this direction or that direction." And so I do take it back to the to the director and say, "Hey, why don't we look at this and why don't we look at that?" So it's it's it's a great place and kids are fighting to get in. So we're trying to expand. So that's another So thank

you. >> All righty. Uh next up is in the media unit. >> I'll just be attending the board meeting on Thursday. >> Board commission. No report. Superintendent. >> Yes. Uh my presentation show. So, uh, my reporting, uh, as Suha mentioned, um, this month is fire prevention month, and we do want to thank, um, the Provis Fire Company for coming out and, uh, demonstrating the apparatus and of course providing everyone with a hat uh, for fire prevention month. Uh, we do see them as a partner in the township. So, we want to just thank them publicly for supporting their so. Also, we had a number of our high school students uh go to they they actually attend a variety of uh workforce development opportunities. Um the board approved the position of community partnership liaison and that

person's uh job is to make sure that they are connecting our learners with internship internships, job shadowing opportunities, um all the things that will prepare them for life after graduation. And that's not just at the high school. It is a K12 position. And so we want to make sure as young as uh kindergarten they're considering uh their interests and what they would they would like to do uh in their lives. So this was an event held at Shibensburg University. Um it was a level up event where they learned about um interviewing skills and just preparing uh for the workforce. And so we did have a group that went this year. It's the first time our our group has attended. And so we look for that uh that number to grow. But we want to thank

Mr. Mac because Mr. Jeffrey Mack because this is his job is to connect all of our learners so that when we hear those graduation uh plans announced on graduation day we don't hear as many undecideds at least people are exploring um options postgraduation. We also want to announce the trunk retreat as Sua did. I told you these students always uh steal my thunder but I'm okay with it. Uh we will have the trunk retreat uh on uh Thursday, October the 30th from 5:30 to 8:30 State Police Headquarters. Go to the next one, please. Also want to give you a few uh Hannah highlights that uh have happened uh this uh fall. First is we've had our senior nights for those of you that have been able to attend those. great opportunity to congratulate our senior

athletes who are moving on and also thank uh their families for allowing them to participate and just supporting our athletic programs and also just thanking the coaches as well for walking alongside of them. Also want to announce that as of Friday our uh football team they are the 2025 Mint Pin Colonial Division Champions and so we're very excited for them. Dr. Martin, I'm gonna ask you to say why this is a big deal because I can't articulate it. >> They're undefeated after their first 10 season after this upcoming Saturday and they won that conference. It's the first time they lost conference. >> Oh, right. >> Like in the ten year of me being here and the history of the school. >> Yeah. believe um when I start when I took over as AB 12 years

ago, 13 years ago, they they were co- champs of the Keystones. >> I think this is the first time they once won the conference. So, right. >> And this is hopefully one of of many collections of championships that we'll have on this this season. >> Very good. So, we will recognize the team for this accomplishment. We're hoping that there will be others down the road in the season. Uh but the turnaround time for families and coaches to be here on a Monday night when they just won on Friday was a little too short. So what we will be recognizing them in the future. Also we want to just remind everyone that election day is right around the corner. Uh we do have a referendum on the ballot. This is the question that is on the

ballot. I'm just sharing this once again. If you are not familiar with what the referendum is, please visit the district website. There is a banner. There are FAQs, all the things that will help you inform yourselves ahead of election day. And uh finally, there is one final public session. It is going to be the same night as trunk or treat. I do know I am so sorry that this was a clash um but it just happened to fall on the same night. I think we identify these dates at least before we knew about drug retreat. But it doesn't matter. Uh you'll still be able to Our last session was ran until about 7:30. So >> we still have an opportunity to um to come out and maybe do some trick-or-treating and then run to the

session if you'd like. If you can't make it to the session, again, we have a full web page on our website that you can go and learn uh about all of the questions and all of the things surrounding the referendum. So, that's our final session and that concludes my report. Thank you. >> All righty. Thank you, Dr. Uh, next up is to approve the agenda. Can I have a motion to approve the agenda? >> Johnson moves. >> Johnson second. Johnson and Johnson. Any discussion? All in favor? >> I >> oppose. Board comments. >> Did I miss it? >> Okay. >> What comment? >> Uh oh. Yes. Again, would like to congratulate coach Joe Heat on his championship with the uh football team. He said that we wanted some wins and we got some. So, uh

very exciting and happy for him and congratulations to the team and the fans want to uh bring to your attention of course that October is breast cancer awareness month and also domestic violence awareness month. So when you see us wearing um and our our team kind of seen them wear that had the pink out people wearing pink people wearing purple that's what they're u in reservance for and um also I would just like to um give acknowledgement to the family of excuse me hold on one second Henry uh the young man who was killed in Stilton uh two weeks ago outside of um what's known in our neighborhood is as Jay's Corner Store. I'm a product of of ST Heis Fire Schools from second grade on through graduation. And uh Jay's Corner Store, it was

in the walking path of the students. And so uh still he fire had to make a decision to shut down their schools on that day when this uh incident took place on the path of of walking while students would have been getting dismissed from school and then subsequently shut down their school for two other days as person was still at large and there was some investigation at the thoughts that there might be some in uh ongoing danger to the students in the school. So, just wanted to uh bring that to the attention of our board and to our public that uh while we feel safe here and things are pretty good out here, uh things are going on at all times all around us and I want us to continue to be vigilant and aware

of the need for ongoing safety measures. Thank you. That's all I have. >> Anybody else? >> I have something. Um also want to bring to your attention that um October is also cle cell awareness and they are celebrating their 30th year um anniversary support and awareness. Um they'll be celebrating it this Saturday. >> Anybody else? I got uh make sure um I um in my organization, Capital Mega, uh we have a a yearly achievement week that we honor people from the community, you know, business person of the year, citizen of the year, and uh outstanding educator of the year. And I want Dr. Willis have been nominated to receive the uh educational administrator of the year award. That will be November the 22nd at the Best Western on East Park Drive at 9:00 in the

morning. It's a breakfast that we usually give. Tickets are $45 if you'd like to uh uh be there with her Rihanna and her. And also I uh was uh also nominated for the founders lifetime achievement award. Something that we give out to uh people of the organization. I've been a member of the organization for 56 years. So it's about time they do something. I'm not going to say that. Yes. So those two there that day Dr. Willis and I both will be on it that day. That's I don't know how that happened but it happened and I didn't plan it and if I did you wouldn't know about it anyway. >> No I did not because I was nominated. I had no idea who nominated me. So that's one of the things that I and

Dr. Willis I just want to congratulate you on that recurring. You did a fine job. I wanted to ask you possible person to have a more table. I'll also be person. >> You said a table. >> Yes. >> Yeah. Is eight eight people at a table. So you don't have to count me cuz I have a table. So yes, you said you want I mean if Yeah. I I'll more than gladly uh find out how you can if Travis Waters in charge. you know Travis, call Travis and uh he's he's a person in central arts. Okay, that'll be great. It's at 9:00 in the morning. >> I I do too, but I'm just saying I would like for us to show some support as a district like if we get together and I got you.

Uh okay that's it public next >> hearing of the public we have uh two in person and one online to make our public comment statement. The board provides an opportunity to hear from the public during this section of the meeting. Any district resident or taxpayer may address the board on matters of concern, official action or deliberation which are or may be before the board. The purpose of this section of the meeting is to be heard and as such the board will not engage in a dialogue, but will listen to your concerns and follow up directly or through assigned administrative personnel as appropriate. Please begin your public comment by stating your full name. Each member of the public may speak for a maximum of three minutes. At the end of the three minutes, your time will

expire. No participant may speak more than once on the same topic unless all others who wish to speak on that topic have been heard and only with permission from the presiding officer. Any comments to the board must be directed to the board president and not individual board members or administrators. Concerns related to specific buildings should first be addressed at the school level and follow the chain of command before coming to the board. Any comments that are considered disruptive, obscene, abusive, slanderous, or defamatory will either be interrupted or terminated. No complaints may be made against specific employees, community members, or board members. Private information related to any student is prohibited. And so, uh, first comment comes from Mr. Russell Davies. Good evening. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to uh to speak to you. I

had something prepared, but I've changed it all in the hallway. Um because I'm going to talk to you as a resident, a resident that's worried about where their income's going, where their taxes are going, what's going on. Um, and I got I kind of got sucked into something and I think it's important because I think there's many more like me. I noticed uh my property taxes went up. I noticed flyers about the new referendum. So, I went to explore that and I was confused because I thought we already voted no. And at what point in my mind, when does no mean no to hear that we're revisiting it again? So, I went to an information session and what I heard was a lot of contradicting statements and let me give you some specifics because these

are all part of a a a slide or a presentation. Um, the statement was made that the overall enrollment is increasing and then of which I said the tax base should be increasing. if you have more students, you have more families, there should be more people contributing. And I'm being told that's not the case, which again doesn't make sense. I'm being told there's no space or not a lot of space, and I'm paraphrasing, but I'm being uh told that the township doesn't have a whole lot of room for residential development, that it's mostly businesses at this point. So that's another reason or a conversation um of why we need to implement this incomebased tax system. And then I I make them aware that nationally and locally the birth rate has been decreasing. That's documented. It's

easy. But I'm being told at the same time enrollment is increasing and projected to increase over the next 10 years. And then they show a slide that shows it flat and dropping off at the end. It doesn't make sense. Doesn't make sense. I go home to investigate it further because now I'm wondering what's really going on to find out after the referendum was turned down, they bought a property. They the district bought a property for $1.2 $2 million and then approximately five months later they buy a property at Deer Path for again a sub a substantial amount of money and what they're doing at Deer Path is exactly what was said to the public we're not going to do. We're not going to convert office space. It's not economically feasible to do that. But here

we are. We're doing that. I just question I I truly believe that everyone has the students best interest at heart, but I'm wondering at the same token from a business standpoint if this is the best direction if we need to rethink what we're doing. Thank you. >> And let me just make a just a comment, Mr. Davis. We're happy to sit and speak with you here at district office because some we don't want to get into it tonight. Some of the information that you mentioned is isn't quite accurate. So, we're happy to speak with you directly to pull teases apart. Okay. That is my assistant over there, Amarie, and she can get your information. We'll have you come in. >> You're welcome. >> Next, we have Major Cherry. >> Who's that? >> Mr. Major Chair.

>> Major Chair. Sherry, I tell you, I was the one that was on the news today. I'm trying to get my children's bus route uh brought back up to 39th and Route Street. Uh here is 39th and Route Street right here. The Sarah Linderof bus stops here. The middle school bus stops here. The high school bus stops here. My children's bus from Thomas Holman stops way back here. And it's not a reflection. I'll show you. It's not an accurate reflection of how long it is. Stops way back here and goes this way. My children have >> 39th Street. >> Yeah. 39th and Rouch. My My children have to walk over almost two football fields. So, the transportation director put in a survey to see if it's going to move up here. but all the other

buses already stopped here. So, she sent an email out to the assistant superintendent with a lot of wrong information saying that in order to reroute the bus, it would need to go to Walnut Street and come down. But, as you can see, it would only need to go down to 39th and Rouch Hillrest and come back around. I timed it. 40 seconds. 40 seconds. So, I'm a Union electrician. I got to rush home and all the criteria of 447.4 where it makes it hazardous here and here. There are no traffic signals, stop signs or crossing guards. So I have pictures here with my children standing here. you they h they have to be visible to up to 200 feet here. My children are still behind that vehicle 40 feet and you can't see them and

there's no traffic and the the the transportation director manipulated the information. She said there's a stop sign. The stop sign stops the traffic from coming down Route Street. As you can see, there's nothing to stop the car from coming around that corner. And once it gets around that corner, it will hit my nine-year-olds. My nine year olds who the principles say are wonderful. Wonderful. Miss Leightton says they have no problem out of my children. I followed all the buses. I took a week off to follow the buses. I see some people's children and grandchildren getting let off right in their driveway. My children have to walk almost two football fields up to this stop. I walk past this stop and walk all the way down to here. >> So, where do you live? >> 39th

in Rouch. I live on Route Street. >> Bus comes where the bus stop. >> All the other buses stop right here. My children's comes down. It goes here and then it >> I got to find out. I can't figure out where you >> the the the go around that little >> Yeah. So, 39th Street. >> Yeah. >> I know. That's why I'm That's why I'm helping. >> Yeah. Yeah. Third 39th Street is where the Dairy Queen is. >> So if you're if you're heading north and you go past that Dairy Queen and you come down, there's Colonial Colonial Road. >> Okay. Here's the Dairy Queen right here on the >> Right. Right. So just keep going north. >> North. >> You said go go north. >> Go north. You're going back towards Elington Avenue. >>

Right. >> Okay. Right. >> So where the bus? >> So this is a bus stop for all the other ones. Here's my children's bus stop. So I got to walk past the bus stop for Sar Linder the middle school. >> Figure out your street. I can't see your street. I don't know exactly where it's located. >> If you come up >> Yeah. the right there where the playground is. >> Right there. Here's the playground right here. >> Yeah. >> Right. So all the other buses, >> what do you want the bus to do? Kicking >> just at this. She says, she said she had to add a stop. >> I'm just asking where do you want your kids picked up? >> 39th and Rouch, just like all the other buses. Thomas Holman is the only

right at 39th and Rouch. This is already a stop. Sarah Linder Roof stops right here. >> But but Thomas don't stop. >> It used to since I moved up here. My oldest kids went to Suscuana Township and the bus used to stop here, but since there were no kids in this area, they rerouted the bus to make it shorter because of the time constraints. >> Have other kids that got to pick up that that yellow there. What street is that yellow's on? >> This here? >> No, that other one. >> Oh, this is the the the bus stop. >> What street? >> I mean, uh, this is Elmerton. This is 39th. So, you got 36. Then you come up to 39th. You make the right step up just a little bit just >> there's a

stop sign right here. Yeah, there's a stop sign. >> Yes, ma'am. >> So, here's the very corn. So, you come across and my street is right here street. This is already an existing bus stop for every other bus with my child. So the stop sign somewhere in here. Where's the stop sign? And then you come up and where you live here. >> So there's no traffic signal. I know. I'm in there. Right. There's a stop sign somewhere. Yeah. So this route now meets the criteria for nine hazards which mean danger. So my children, like I said, I followed the buses. My children now have to walk almost two football fields because she doesn't want to bring the stop up here and just go around and continue on the route. So, I need to talk to

somebody because the information that she sent to the sister superintendent was wrong. She said the bus would need to come all the way down here and it would completely take off off his route. To avoid the hazards, my the bus only needs to come up to 39th in route and then continue around 40 seconds. My kids are nine. I just showed you the pictures. There's no stop signs, traffic lights, or guards. My children are standing behind you. You must be visible and up to 200 feet. My children are behind this truck now and you can't see them. So I asked the director, "Hey, could we go over this together to make sure all the information is included?" She said, "I already sent it in." So it's the fox garden, the hen house. So she doesn't

want to change it. So I said, "Let's go over it together because I sent her information." I said, "Well, did you include the information that I gave to you before you sent the survey in?" Well, I'm not going to discuss that with you. >> Well, we won't get into that part. >> Yeah, Dr. Martin, he's going to work on it and uh I'll get a visual site because I understand it and we'll see what we can do. Okay? and I I will uh I will talk to Dr. Martin and uh I'll I'll make sure that we we we get back with you sometime this week or next week. >> Okay. I'll call them personally also because like I said she me misrepresented some information. >> Maybe maybe >> but that's something that we have to

vote on when when they put out the bus stop. We don't visual see and there always going to be some adjustment sometimes to certain Yeah. >> So we will definitely work with I will definitely work with Dr. Martin and the superintendent and uh we'll make sure we get back with you. >> All right. All right. >> All right sir. >> Yes. >> Thank you. Thank you. >> Thank you. So that is a situation. Uh, >> anybody else? >> Yeah, somebody I know y'all somebody came in late. >> No, sir. This is >> Oh, they already know. >> Are you going to reach someone offline? >> Yes. >> We have someone online. Wait, is somebody online right now that wants to come? >> No, we got Oh, no. Okay. All right. So then I'll just note

that we have received a public comment from Jason Schwarz. >> Yes. >> Uh did you want I know you just came in. Did you want to did you sign up to Well, that list is up here. >> I I don't know how to sign up. >> I don't know. >> Would you like to speak? Yeah. >> Did you come in to speak? Yeah. >> So, okay.
