Also in December, the third grade holiday chorus concert took place led by Mrs. O'Shea. Chorus students

Mrs. O'Shea and third grade students did a wonderful job spreading holiday cheer with songs from various holidays celebrated in the community. Our PTO and families came together to support a healthy snack drive at Plymouth. Families generously donated non-p perishable snacks to support students who may need snack support. So far, we've supported 24 students and continue to offer snack support for students as needs arise. PD is also looking forward to the great kindness challenge 126 to 130 where students will participate in schoolwide events and classroom activities to model kindness for students and increase compassion and unity for Kin. Kin third grade teacher and elementary facilitator Andy Campbell has been selected as a semiist for the 2027 Department of Education teacher.
Students know the great kindness challenge was pushed back to the week of February 2nd and CE completed their second do a place for me project during that week to spread kindness to the community via kind messages on coffee sle coffee shop contract. All students continue to read the book Willine by Katherine Applegate allowed in the classroom and created their own mobile screeature out of recycled items brought in from home. We collected winter hats, gloves, and socks to donate to TLC for the people. And finally, for White Marsh Elementary, White Marsh Elementary celebrated the Great Kindness Challenge during the week of February 2nd to the 6th. Throughout the year, students and staff engaged in a variety of engaging activities that promoted kindness and positive school culture. One pilot was a kindness welcome during morning rival during which staff greeted and encouraged students. Students were also invited to tell classmates for acts of
kindness by reporting them on paper links which were then connected to form a kindness chain display throughout the school. White Elementary is also participating in the read for the horse community service initiative. Through this project, students track their reading time during the month of February to raise donations for the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House Apps. White Marsh Elementary is currently in second place among participating schools with students having raised over $9,000 a week. That is all from us. Thank you. >> Thank you both so much. Any questions or comments? All in favor? Thank you. Is there a sponsor this evening? >> No report. >> Okay, we will move on to committee reports. Um CRSL Sharon. Uh the committee met on
February the 9th. Yes, February the 9th. Um a few highlights. Actually, the biggest highlight of the meeting was um the representatives from several Plymouth White High School uh student clubs uh including the Black Cultural Awareness Club, the Gay Street Alliance, the Jewish Student Union, the Anti-Defamation League Peer Mentor Club, Hispanic Latinx Union, the International Cultural Association, Asian Student Association, and Muslim Student Association. Um and so Dr. Douglas has shared um some of the uh communication and engagement uh that administration has had with the clubs and the students uh spoke to the board shared their sentiments uh talked about how they are feeling supported by administrators in their efforts to represent the members of their club and to promote belonging. Um Dr. Figuro Douglas also noted that the meetings between admin and student leaders um continue
to take place throughout the year to help uh answer questions um such as what is the district doing well? How can we continue to support our students? Um and these discussions have led to um not just conversation but a lot of change um that has happened and the board I think I speak for all of us was very excited to hear from our students um during that during that session. So two other quick notes one is um Mr. Spark talked about the um use of using the committee meetings to continue to highlight the various range of programs that are used to support students um through climate culture and discipline. And we also discussed uh how the PSS the psychological sense of school membership survey data um and Pennsylvania youth survey will be shared with uh
everyone in the spring um and that student discipline reports will continue to be shared on a quarterly basis in exact session. Um those were the highlights. The other quick note was around uh continuing to increase the black African-American um advanced placement courses. Uh and there was conversation around continuing to find ways to do that. Um as well as uh some past success that we've had um in increasing the number of underrepresented students in our AP courses. So that was a little bit long, but I wanted to make sure we were honoring our students um for their time and their effort for sharing with us. >> Thank you, Chris. Curriculum. We met the curriculum committee met on February 9th um and they uh we discussed the district's annual achievement in progress uh centering on the elementary
schools the future ready index comprehensive goals state and federal requirements were highlighted as well as the district's data driven strategic focus on continuous school improvement sub growth and achievement um elderberry um administrators presented building level data have of focus for school improvement um including strengthening students sense of belonging and dignity interim future ready next targets and subgroup achievement and growth um gated three principles highlighted strengths and areas for growth um colonial elementary principles also shared data highlights and improvement efforts centered on climate culture and belonging along with targeted instructional strategies and ELA and math and science um overall the district reaffirmed it strong performance ongoing commitment to strategic data informed school improvement in support of the mission of CS and uh the next meeting will be held on March. >> Thank you Rashidita. Facilities uh
uh facilities management did not meet um in early February but we're going to be meeting um on March the 2nd. And um one of the reasons behind that change um is because Joe and his crew are simply amazing in keeping our walkways safe, our buildings warm, and that took some time and effort with the frigid temperatures that we had, and the snow was still laying on the ground until recently. So, kudos to you, Joe, and your team for doing fabulous work. Uh, buses were still rolling on the days we were open, so kudos to transportation, too. And, um, we'll be ready to present a full report, um, on our March board meeting. Thank you. Uh Jerry, finance >> finance committee met on February 2nd. Two items were advanced uh to the board for consideration which
were approved tonight. The MCIU member services budget and the spring musical budgets for PWCMS. And the committee also reviewed the preliminary 2026 2027 school year budget which includes a 3.5% increase in taxes along with reviewing unity financial statements for the 2025 2026 school year. Great. Thank you, Gail. HR >> HR committee met on Monday, February 2nd. We had um two student visitors um come in and discuss the impact of their attendance at the annual Black Male Educators Conference. Um and so that was very exciting to hear from our students. And just to add, we had students um February 19th. So I think that um this has become a a great meeting for students to come in and hear your voices. So we're excited um to hear student voice. Thank you. The students aren't here, but
thank you um for joining us and sharing your voices with us. >> Thank you. Uh Chris for Central Hong Technical High School. Um uh Dr. King announced that she will be retiring at the end of this school year and um she's done a great job over the last few years and um really thank her for the energy and effort and a lot of positive changes that have happened since she's been there. So, she will be >> great. Yes, we met on January 28th. Um, we had to do it on soon because of the snow, but so there was a lot of speakers, a lot of information provided, but I think the main thing was the preschool program we just discussed. They did a whole presentation about it and I think it's very important just to
get it out there. Um they have 22 different pastors throughout the different districts in Montgomery County and um they actually open to accepting applications right now and the thing that I learned was it's uh income based. So I think it's very important because you know sometimes we're not aware and It doesn't matter where you live. As long as you're a PA le you can attend. And um one of the questions that somebody asked was how can like the district get like a prek program and they pretty much really open to it. That's we have the space and classrooms uh to provide it. And the great thing about that is that they'll follow the curriculum of your district to make sure that they prepare the for which I thought was great. Very important. >> Thank you.
Legislative >> sorry. >> Thank you. Uh any uh community reports this evening? townships. >> So on February 28th, um Plymouth meeting is having their annual Black History Heritage event at the Greater Prim Community Center. 11 a.m. 11 a.m. to 1. >> Thank you. Uh foundation Jeremy, >> uh February is also part of the foundation's feel of love campaign. For only $5 or more, you can contribute um in honor of one of your students teachers. Um all donations received by the fill the love campaign go back to the colonial classroom through the teacher grant program. Recent grants include um all kids bike programs at Filmouth Elementary, 3D printers for Cornell Middle School, autism awareness books for Ridge Park and Rock Wall at Coronal Elementary School. So please uh contribute on the website if you're able to
in honor of our great teachers. >> Great. Thank you. Attached to this evening's agenda are the school activity accounts, the athletic activity accounts for both CMS and PW, building reports, curriculum reports, and technology reports. And now, is there any public comment this evening? Is there any additional board comments this evening? >> Sorry. The um just another event, it's actually happened at the county level and this year it's going to be at McGomery County Community College, which um their um annual event as well because that's 11 11 a.m. but that's posted on the Mon County website. Thank you. Any um additional comments this evening? All right, seeing none, this meeting is Thank you.
