So moved. Second. All right. Uh discussion? Hearing none, all in favor? Aye. Motion carries. Mr. Mathias, anything? Yes. So, we have been working on many, many things internally. Um those include pulling together your proposed final budget. Uh we've had meetings a lot We've had a lot of meetings. Uh that will be on your agenda at your next meeting. Now, your next

meeting is 3 weeks from today. It also coincidentally is the first meeting of the month, not the second meeting of the month. Why is it there? Because there's a requirement under the school code that between the preliminary I'm sorry, I say that wrong all the time. The proposed final budget adoption and the final budget adoption is 30 days. Well, if you go to the third Wednesday of the month, it'll only be 28 days. So, that's why we're putting it on the agenda the first Monday of the month. That gives you plenty of time. So, that will be on the agenda. Uh it will show everything we've talked about. It'll be the preliminary budget presentations minus those uh proposed uh cuts that I provided to you. Nothing has changed in that regard. So, that will be

reflected in that budget. Again, you will see that at your next meeting. Uh additionally, uh McKenzie is on board. It's been delightful to work with her this week. She's been attentive. She has been um inquisitive. She has been intelligent. And it's fair to say that in the short-term period, it's been fire hose. You get that metaphor? Okay? It's been that for her this week and will continue to be for, you know, a year and a half. Um but she she has been great so far and has been, you know, learning everything we've we've tried to teach her. Uh other things going on, you have on your agenda today the director of curriculum and instruction appointment. That was one of my recommendations to you. Thank you for approving that. It is by far one of the

most important positions in the school district. It not only aligns your academic program for your students, which is, of course, why you're here. It's critical. Uh it also addresses what we refer to as tier one services to students. Those are student Those are services that every kid gets. You have to ensure that they get those services and the way you do that is through the written curriculum. Okay? What needs to be taught to all kids. Uh so so the appointment of that position is absolutely critical. Thank you for following up on that. Uh we are also working on a number of other potential, what I would call, adjustments to the budget. You will recall that when I presented to you, I've said, you know, here here's some things that we're recommending. However, we are open

to other ways of looking at things. If you can find a program that you can institute that builds, like for example, your special ed continuum of services that improve services for your students, but also potentially bring students back into the district. We are open to all of that. So, that work continues and will likely continue right up until your final budget adoption, which is in the middle of June. I'm sure there's a gazillion other things we're working on, but those that's the those are the highlights. Thank you, sir. >> Sure. Personnel report, Ms. Culpepper. Sure. Ms. Warner-Mullen? Aye. Mr. Warner? Aye. Um also you see the the enrollment summary for as of April 1st. And you see that our our numbers have gone down uh a little bit. Again, that's just another example of our transient population. Uh as we get later in the year, you see more parents moving, more families moving around. Um and that's actually that's just an example of that. Also, reminder, the

musical is this week weekend. You're a good man, Charlie Brown. Uh at time on is April 17th, 7:00, the 18th at 7:00, and the 19th at 2:30. Please come out and support the kids. I know the last week's last year's musical was very If you saw that, it was very very good. So, I highly recommend that you come out and support the kids. Willie, I have a question about the enrollment report. Just in terms of looking at like the historical numbers in the past, you went from 1460 district total to 1311 from September to April the 1st. And that that is a I mean, I would say that's a sizable drop from 1460 to 1311. And I see that the elementary, if you compare those, 778 to 756, or or bigger number was from the

junior and senior high school, 568 to 453. But the numbers um if you look at the cyber has went from 55 to 112. Thus, I mean, did that affect the numbers going down any? Or is that No, that that that number's included. That number is included in it. So, Remember we did a residency verification. >> the residency verification was a huge part of it. Um that That kudos to Dr. Nall and her staff. We had We found a lot of people that weren't living in the district, and they were able to to to move them on to where they needed to be. So, that that's also a big part of it. And like I like I said earlier, we we are a transient district. So, we always see a ebb and flow of of our

numbers. But yeah, that that is a we a lot of that is because of the residency verification that that we did, and that um that was a huge difference. The cyber going up basically like 50% or more. Thanks, Mr. Harris. Mhm. Is that our cyber? That's our cyber. That's our Yeah. Yeah, that's our cyber. Is there any reason that climbs that high or Uh I That I don't know. Cuz usually it goes the other way. Usually it goes down. >> Um so I can't uh speak on why it's going up this year, but I but but then again, I think it also is a good for that we're pushing our cyber more. So those could be the students that we usually may have left us to go to outside cyber, and we're we're we're starting

to be able to keep them here. So that's a huge huge difference for us as a district. All right. Any other questions? All right. School Board President's Report. I don't have a report at this time. I just Congratulations. Glad to have a Director of Curriculum and Instruction. Miss Business Manager, Miss Poston, congratulations. Welcome to the team. Thank you. Glad to have you. We Board members, congratulations. We are moving our district forward. We are We are making strides to knock out that plan. No offense, Mr. Mr. McCarty. >> That's what I'm here for. Um let's keep the momentum going. Let's keep it strong. You guys are doing a lot of good, and a lot of people may not see that right now, but in the future they will. Mr. Lewis. Yes. Speaking of the plan, need

to be a buzzkill, but the majority of my work over the last month has been teeing up these furloughs, making sure that Harry, William, and myself have everything we need from an administrative standpoint, procedurally and substantively, um as well as working with union leaderships. So thanking Mr. Rhodes and Mr. Monahan with uh respect to the dialogue we've had with them to make sure that everything is good to go. Um but yeah, I mean that's that's pretty much what I've been doing the last month is making sure that everything that culminated into tonight uh went as smoothly as it could have gone. So, thank you. Thank you. All right. Board round table. Anyone? Um, there was a walk through our buildings and grounds. Um, there is a few tweaks and a few minor things that need

to be worked on, but Dan is on it. Anything you need to add? No. Your walk through went well? Yes. Awesome. We had our cheerleading interviews and as soon as our principal notifies the persons that we have selected and the way we selected them, the board will be notified, I'm sure. Thank you, sir. Any other committees have anything they would like to add? No? All right. Public comment on agenda and non-agenda items. Just a quick question for you. The furlow teachers, is there a process and or timeline that they're going to be notified or be building the principals, or admin, and when will they be told because now that it's I feel like they are deserved a meeting or a I can speak to notification will occur tomorrow. Okay. Do you know >> They have

all that, so I'll I'll punt to one of these guys, but part of my work was getting the template ready for those affected employees. So, they will have that first thing tomorrow at some point. Yes, but now that that's public knowledge, yes, they will know. Okay. And do we know who's going to They might come to me asking and do you know who's going to approach them or meet with them? It'll probably be myself and the principal. Okay. Anything good? All right. >> it. Anyone else? No? So moved. What's next? I'd like to entertain an adjournment. So, we got to So moved. >> So moved. that. Have a good day everyone.
