Hello clockers. My name is Hi Silver with WACA [music] and today I will be bringing you a brief summary of the Ashlintown managers newsletter as I always do. Starting off, Ashlin [music] saw the first significant winter storm of 2026. Y'all got nearly 2 feet of snow that fell across the area. Slippery road conditions ended up leading to a car going off the road on Myrtle Street right near the waterfalls. Officials say the person involved was not injured, but the incident sure is a reminder of just how slick the roads were throughout the storm and how slippery they can be in the future as well. With conditions worsening overnight, Ashlin Public Schools were closed and residents were urged to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary. Town officials are thanking public safety crews and the Department

of Public Works who worked around the clock plowing roads and responding throughout the storm to keep our community safe. Some other news, the Ashlin Food Pantry is relocating. The Ashlin Food Pantry will be closed on February 4th and 5th while it relocates. The pantry will reopen Monday, February 9th at its temporary location inside the Police Substation at the Market Basket Plaza on Pawn Street. It will resume normal curbside hours. For the housing production plan, public input is needed. The town of Ashlin is asking residents to provide feedback on its housing production plan, which helps guide future housing development and also maintains safe harbor status with the state. A public forum was recently held and the online survey remains open now through February 10th. For those who could not attend, there is an unused prescription medication

dropbox. Residents are reminded the unused prescription medication dropbox is located in the lobby of the public safety building on Union Street. Annual town census forms. The annual town census forms have been mailed to all households and are mandatory. Residents are asked to review, sign, and return the form to the town clerk's office ASAP. That can be by mail or in person. Eversource energy bill assistance is available. With colder weather driving up energy costs, Eversource bill assistance programs are available to help residents manage higher electric and gas bills. Resources are available in both English and Spanish. For holiday light recycling, broken holiday lights can be recycled at the town hall and it will be located on the second floor. This is a partnership between Greenup Ashland and Ashland Sustainability. Also, some cool volunteer opportunities for boards

and committees. Residents interested in getting involved can apply on town boards and committees. There's positions open on the affordable housing trust, conservation commission, planning board, and sustainability committee. So, make sure if you are interested in that to check it out on the town website for more info. This week's community shout out goes to Lieutenant Larusi who recently stopped by the dole men's club at the Ashlin Senior Center and donated bags of coffee for the group. It was a very thoughtful gesture that highlights the strong connection between the Ashlin Fire Department and the town's senior community. For community events coming up, raise a glass for Mel will be running from January 31st through January 1st at Clover Road on Main Street. This will be in support of Ashlin police officer Melvin Lian who was diagnosed with

cancer this past year. And I really hope I said his last name right and I apologize Melvin if I did not. The two-day event includes raffle prizes donated by local businesses along with food trucks and live music throughout the weekend. The raffle winners will be announced Sunday evening on social media and organizers say it's a great way to support Mel and the local community. You will not want to miss this. Also coming up, the Ashlin Stuco annual pancake breakfast. Ashlin High School Student Council or Stuco is hosting its annual pancake breakfast this Sunday, February 1st, from 9 to 11:00 a.m. at the Ashland High School. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under with all you can eat pancakes, bacon, chicken, sausage, hash browns, the whole shebang. Organizers say it's a

fun way to support student activities and also enjoy a community breakfast. The Ashlin Public Library is hosting a book sale coming up. Book lovers, y'all can mark your calendars for an upcoming sale at the Ashlin Public Library. The Friends of the Ashlin Public Library are hosting a book sale on Saturday, February 7th from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the library on Front Street. The event includes a Valentine's Day special called Blind Date with a Book where books are available for $4 without revealing the title. So fingers crossed. Proceeds support library programs and volunteers will also be on hand to accept donations and gently used books. Speaking of that being it, that is it from me today. Thank you all for tuning in. Thanks to our town staff for putting together this newsletter. I'm Hi

Silver with WACA wishing you a wonderful night and as always, go Patriots and go clockers.
