And forward number 11, Lucy G. And forward number 13, Abby Greenman. And defense number four, Callie Arthur. And defense number 21, Caitlyn G. number one, Riley Colorado. And coach of the Hill is Chuck Costello. At this time, if you are able, please rise and remove your hats as we honor our country with the playing of our
002national anthem. [music] Heat. [music] Heat. [music] Heat. [music] Heat. [music] [music] >> [music] >> Thank Thank you. Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome into the New England Sports Center. But on each one on the call after today But we got uh a starting lineup here today. Looks like we got Emmy Heni. Emmy Heni is over at center, >> Liv Young, and Lara. Larara Lur. Larur up the side trying to get out of the zone. All good. We got uh great sophomore player from last year came into the program. Um Sam Kelly got the A on her chest. the assistant captain as a sophomore is pretty impressive. Great leader uh on defense as well as JC Leighton. Oh, sorry. Carly Leighton, JC's sister starting on defense today. >> Okay, [snorts] so puck out of play.
003We'll have a face off to the left with >> Khloe Henley. And here is the quote first line. And you got Payton at center, Ashlin player, and you got uh Liz Dpoda on wing and Helen Sencio on the other wing from Medway. Great player. So this is our, you know, the the call it the first line or the red line. What we have here, best skaters, best hands in the team. Hopefully they put one in right here. >> Nice play by the defense. >> Yep. Good play there by Liz getting around behind the net trying to get it centered but the puck got poked up in the air and um goalie was able to just pick it out. Got Bailey um Bailey Barry on defense number 27 has an absolute cannon from the point 21
004Nicole Rogers great player on the other wing on the other sorry defense player Huffington on the offensive zone there. Wonder if this is one verse one or not, but we got uh Morgan Beer who was great player as a youth player. Big kid, good hands out there on the ice for Hopping. Ashley made a clear Helen in front. Another stop. Got some good pressure going so far from the first line. Good, good work here. Second line coming up here on the ice. We got uh Ashlin's Anna Pinto, Hollist's Molly Wade, and Hollist's sorry, Medways Liy Eastern. Good hands. Good. Another good second line. We talked about that first line, second line play of uh girls hockey kind of trying to keep it into the one two one two uh line changes and keeping those top
005two lines on the ice as much as you can to kind of compete with the other top two lines. When they get tired, they bring in that third line. Hate able to get the puck out of his zone. Try to move it up. >> No icing. Sam Kelly with the puck in the corner behind the net going to Anna Pinto. And a good little touch, little chip. Laya Houston. Molly trying to play a little defense. Cole Rogers. Oh, sorry. That's Carly Leighton there on defense with Sam Kelly. So, we got Sam Kelly. Carly Leighton is a is a D combo today. and Bailey and who else is with Nicole Rogers as the second team defense there. >> Oh boy. Got to put a body on that. >> Ashwood's got to come out swinging today. They
006got to bring some serious heat to this team cuz if they can skate really fast and get around them, they got to lay the body. If they miss that puck, they got to they got to bring the body. Yeah, that was a good shot through traffic that went wide of the net fortunately. >> So, obviously there's no checking in the in the uh uh in the boys in the girls game here, George, but there is body contact >> allowed and that's why I say you got to put the body on them cuz yeah, >> can't be checking line people up like they do in the boys game. But there's it's still physical. >> Liv Young enters the game number 19 second and third line here. Amy Henchi and Lara Larur again. So, coach changing things
007up a little bit with the lines. Still nothing set in stone, it seems like from what we've been looking at over the last couple games. Still trying to feel out the best combinations. The first line is pretty much stuck together though with Payton and um Liv Liz uh Sasota and Helen. Second and third lines are kind of fluid though. >> Okay. Face off in the Hoffton zone. >> Hton wins. Lara got to apply pressure there. It's a good time to pinch Nicole. >> Good effort. There we go. Come on, Bailey. Come on, Bailey. >> Good job breaking that up. >> I'll try not to commentate like a fan, but it seems like that's going to be impossible. >> We got a tripping call here. >> Penalty on Hawkington. >> It's Nicole. Nicole Rogers trip. No,
008it's [snorts] not. >> So, Hopton on the power play. I didn't see that happen. Did you? >> No, I didn't see that. That was the puck went up into the corner. >> You're going to hear a penalty kill out here. Looks like JC Leighton. Nope, sorry. Carly Leighton, Sam Kelly, Larry Ler, and Liv Young. Let's hope they stick together here on the on the penalty kill. Nice. Got it out. See what Hopkins can do here with their power play unit. >> Don't let it come out. Oh. >> Oh, out front. Nice save. >> Carly Leighton with the chip off the boards. Shot by Hoppin. Save by Little off. A little wide, but hey, we'll take the stop, right? >> We'll take it. Yeah, that counts as an official save. >> Haven't talked much about uh
009about Khloe Henchi in net. Uh great goalender. She was behind a behind an all-star goalender last year from uh from BBT. >> She's been doing great work though in there. She's uh stood tall. She made a ton of saves on a last game where we I think we lost three to one. >> Um stood on her head without without her in that making the stop she's been making, we would have a tough time here keeping in the games. Yeah, >> she did a great job there. A puck bouncing around in front of the net. She couldn't get a glove on it. Players couldn't get a handle on it and she kept with it. to the blue line. >> Nice stop there, Chloe. >> Yep. >> Oh, actually just able to clear Olivia St. Pierre out
010on the penalty kill today too. Payton trip barely Barry and Liz Despot out there now. >> 45 seconds left in the penalty. apply some pressure here. Liz is a very uh aggressive player. She's a great skater. She's got good hands. >> The tip up high. >> Get that puck out front. >> Peyton does take got to take the body there. >> Damn. Yep. What a nice shot. >> That was a great shot. They let her Lucy Jean, we talked about her in the warm-up. She's a heck of a player. She had four games last game. Now she's got five. So >> yeah, I think I think if you let her skate in front of the net like that that it's going to be very difficult for any goal to stop a slap a quick run
011shot. >> Kind of felt like that was coming down the tracks there. A little bit too much zone time. Weren't really catching up with anybody. >> Yeah, that's just not able to get over to her to get a body on her. >> Yeah, you got to get a body. You got to make contact. You miss that puck. Just can't let him skate through you. Sorry, still early. 953 left to go here in the first period. >> Jacy Leighton at center. >> Dumps him into the corner. 11. >> Helen Sencio in the corner. >> There you go. JC is going to go to the point to get a shot off. Turn and go. Let's go. Take your time. Possession is key in the game. And if you can hold on to that puck, draw the defense.
012Sam Kelly with the puck up top. Nice. Smart getting over the red line before you dump it in. So, no icing. >> Well, you don't see that enough in youth hockey where they cautiously get over the red line before they dump it in. >> We had uh I think we had the most icings in Ashland hockey history about three games ago. Every time they got the puck anywhere they were, we dumped it. And uh I think we're in the Guinness book now, but they stopped doing that after that game. Thank goodness. Um >> goies goalies don't like that. >> No. No. Coaches don't like that either. No. Give it to her. There it is. Geometry up the boards. JC with the puck. Fighting for it. Keep it in the zone. Liy comes around. Corrals the
013puck looking to get it to Helen. That puck in the zone. >> Carly Leon with the puck here. Little swinging a miss. She's got it though. Liy Easter on the for check. Anna Pinto on the for check. Molly Wade's out there. Nope, that's Emmy Henchie. Sorry. Yeah, Emmy is not the goalie. So Emmy Henchi, Khloe are twins. It's very hard for me to keep track of who's number eight is uh Khloe. Great player. She's the leading goal scorer on the team right now. She's got three on the season. Um Payton Trip has one goal. Liv Tasota has a goal and Larara Laker has a goal. Payton with a couple assists in that as well. No, only reason I know that is because I track it in my brain, but uh there are also other assists,
014but I don't have any information on that, so I can't really talk to it. >> It's pretty impressive tracking. >> Lucy Gene through the middle again. Oh, come on, ref. That is not There you go. Nice job. We got a penalty coming in coming up here. I'll >> trip on uh number 11 Lucy Jean again. She's so fast. It's hard to just Who' they get? >> Emmy on the trip. >> We'll sit in the box and think about what you've done. If you can open the box. All right. See what we can do here on the penalty kill. All right. Payton trip Sam Kelly. Carly Leighton. Carly logging some a lot of minutes for a uh freshman today. She's doing a good job. We're missing Emma Van Buskerk, I think, who uh maybe had a
015family vacation. She's also the other defender who usually is out there. So, Carly getting some extra minutes today. There you go. Nice pressure. >> Payton on the for check with Liz. Looking in the middle for Liz. >> Oh, just missed. Good connection. >> Yeah, good play there. Good, good, good heads up thinking. >> Threeon two coming the other way with a back check from Payton. >> We got to step up on that girl. We can't let her shoot that puck. There you go. Nice job, Carly. >> Kate corrals it. Tries to get up the boards. >> I should be able to clear this now. >> Come on. >> Got to do a better job on the clears. >> Yeah, we got to get hard hard off the boards. Hear coach yelling all the time. Hard
016off the boards. >> It's tough. >> Well, you had some ice in front. Skate it up a little bit more and then then knock it out. >> Oh, here's a good chance. We got Payton and Liz on a twoon two with a back checker. Nice job dumping the puck, Liz. Need to break. Changing out the defense. Better get out there. Who out Helen? Oh no, they better not call that. That was accidental. 40 seconds left here on the penalty. So far so good on the penalty kill. Let's hope they can keep it up. Lucy Jean's back out there. >> Morgan Beer number eight. Also a great player, a senior. Bailey. >> Nice look from a corner there. Who's got in front? Someone's got to get back to the front. There's Helen getting to the point.
017Nice job. She got a stick on it. Oh, >> Baitton's been out there a little bit. Come on, Bailey. Step up. Oh, nice stop by. >> Wow. >> By Chloe Henie. Great glove work. >> Very nice stop with that penalty. >> Yeah, the penalty. Wow. sister better give her a hug and say thanks for that one cuz I don't know why Oh, she can't she had to wait for whistle after. [snorts] >> So, all right, back to full strength with uh 546 left here in the first period. >> Ashlin down one- nothing. >> We're still down one for some reason. The clock says zero, but the ref's telling her there's one second maybe on the other side of the clock that we can't see. So, we're still down a player here. I hope it doesn't
018come back to bite us. >> She's going to release here in 1 second. >> Oh, good. >> Oh, is this the clock? I [music] see what's there. It's 2 seconds left. One zero. >> Okay. >> Got a bad clock. >> Clock. >> This place is just uh as many rinks as there is, it's not kept up very well. >> Back to full strength. >> Here we go. >> Larquer again. and Henchi trying to make up for her penalty. O almost [snorts] dump it in down low and she can bring it out. Olivia Olivia Ahern on the ice. Liv I believe they call her on the team. Got a nice little forche going here. Emmy on it with Liv. Let's not let her get that shot off. Oh my. What a stop by Chloe. >> Thank
019goodness for that. >> Yeah, >> she just walked through everybody on the team from the blue line. >> Yeah, number 11. What a what good stick handling skills. >> She is very fast, very small, very shifty. >> Yeah, good job by Henchuk. You said to make that save. Jeez. >> Blocker save into the glove hand is uh tough to block. >> She'll keep him in this game today. >> Got to get some offense going, that's all. Another stop by Glo. >> Got a whistle. >> Somebody screaming something from the stands. >> Good. >> Bailey called for interference somehow. I didn't see what happened there. She's She's pleading her case to the ref. Ref doesn't know what she did. doesn't ref does not care. >> This is going to be uh an interesting in the third
020penalty situation. Another two, you know, down to player. Another two minutes. Third time this period and we're still have over four minutes to go. >> Bailey not thrilled about that call on the in the box there. Pretty pretty angry. >> Yeah, that call's very questionable. >> Come on now. Let's get together there, team. Nice. >> That's a nice save. So, special teams in hockey, you know, this team is uh this has been one of the weaknesses I think over the season thus far is they're not they're not really staying together as a group on the special teams on the penalty kill or in the in the power play. So, hopefully you can see if they can start to get patience on [music] defense, not chase, stay tight together. You know, it's all about getting into
021that square on a five on four situation and not over extending yourself on defense. not go too deep on the for check like sometimes we do. So hopefully get back into it. >> Nice job stepping up there and knocked the puck off by Nicole Rogers. >> Last year Hopton had a uh absolute amazing eighth grader came up and got called up last year and uh thankful for us she got moved into private school. But then they got another eighth grader this year from Hopton that uh is just also dynam. I think she's got four goals on the season as well. So, uh, just a good feeder system. Obviously, good school. Oo, nice block shot there by Liv. I don't know if that was a block shot or more protecting her face. >> We're going to
022call it a block shot. [laughter] >> Okay. >> Oh, nice stop there. Got to grab that rebound. >> Yeah, Chloe not able to keep control of the rebound and fortunately it bounced far enough away that it didn't cause any damage. >> Can't let it walk out. >> You can't let that Oh. >> Oh, Lord. Come on, girls. Yeah, >> Jaylen Mickey >> with the goal. No, sorry, Abby. Freeman. >> Okay, >> that'll put Hen up two nothing. Both of their scores on penalty play. >> Got to stay out of the box. Refs aren't uh calling both ways here today, that's for sure. >> That was a pretty goal though. Walk out of the corner and stuff between the goalie's legs. Hopefully they bounce back from that. >> Right. >> Three minutes left to go here
023in the first period. >> Well, Daniel, they took their eyes off for just a moment and prepared able to come up behind the net and just flip it in. >> We just got to take our time with the puck. I feel like more and more we see these kids, they get the puck and they just uh they're young, so I get it, you know, but you got to get that puck, possess the puck, think about what you're going to do with it, not just whack it and get rid of it aimlessly to nobody. So the more we can possess the puck, slow down the game a little bit for ourselves. Let let our team get set up and catch up. Twoon one here. >> Dish it. >> Rebound. Rebound. >> Almost on the rebound. >>
024Emmy Henry on the on the rebound play there. Nice shot by Liv Young. >> Twoon one though. Got to fake the shot, move the goal in and hopefully pass off. You never know what's the best high percentage play there. Come on, Blue Lar with the puck. Gets it out of the zone. >> Emmy on the for check. We got too many on the for check. We got all three of them going in there. Come on, shoot that. >> And it was another great shot. >> Great charge. She's going short side there and almost got it in a little crack, but the the the seven hole, whatever hole that is. Not the five, not the one. It's like the six or seven under the armpit. >> Nice stop by the goalie though under pressure. She didn't
025get all that shot. It was fluttered a little bit. So JC Leighton on the face off here looking to get it back to the defense. There you go, Bailey. >> Oh, please get back. We need some for >> Nice back check. Nice job, Liv Ahern. There 28. Make sure I got it right. Yeah, Liv Ahern. We got to move our feet. >> There we go. Would have got the puck out. Come on, JC. Oh, take that body. Miss with the puck. >> Oh my word. What another great move. Yeah, fake right or fake left, came back right. He got the backhand top shelf and just got that puck right in. >> Some great just amazing stick handling skills. A >> beautiful backhand shot there. Lucy Jean again. Um I think unassisted from the red line.
026Walk through dance. We got to get a body on player. I think uh you can see that they're fast. They're shifty. Um if you miss with that puck, that stick, you got to go with the body. slowing down the boards. >> Hopka now up three nothing with a minute 20 to go here in the first period. >> Another shot under good save there by Henchley. Payton with the puck having a little trouble. This is one of the ranks they do uh will clean the ice on between both periods where most most game most rinks don't for the girls game. >> Really? They don't. Nope. So I believe they do for this one. So we'll get two two clean sheets. As you can see, he's getting pretty turned up out there. >> Might have been what
027had Payton's problem there with the puck. >> Oh, another nice leg kick. Nice stop, kick save, and a be by Emmy there. Emy's got a a whole bunch of saves today. Lucy Gene with the puck again. >> Joshua just can't seem to get stuff going in the transition to get uh get the puck up and get into a hop with a nice poke. Nice steal here by Payton. Sam Kelly puck. >> Let's just put it on that. See what happens. Right. It's a good shot. >> Defensive change coming. >> Longd distance shot but on on target. >> 20 seconds left here in the period. Like to keep it in our zone if we can in their zone. Sorry. Oh man. >> Uh oh. Quick breakout. 8 seconds. >> There you go. There you go. That's
028how you tire up. >> Nice job by Henkins tying up >> and that'll that'll close out the period. >> I I just had a vicious flashback three years two years ago at we played Huffington and was tied and Lisa Jean in that same situation came down with 3 seconds left and put it in the net for the I was just about to have a wicked flashback. So luckily that didn't happen. Good job on the defense there by back check by uh Emmy Henchi. >> Right. So three nothing at the end of the first period. still a lot of time to go. What what what maybe what are the one or two key things Ashon has to buckle down on here going into the second period of the jam? >> Body contact. They got to they
029got to slow this team down. Um when they're between the neutral between the blue lines, they got to keep with their head up, look for the uh the best pass and try to draw the defense to them so they get that pass off. It's been a problem the whole season um just transitioning out of the zone. So they got to work on just steady, slow, patient transition out of the zone. when they get in the zone, even more patience. A lot of times they get swallowed up by two players. They don't know what to do and they just, you know, they chip it up the boards, but a lot of times they got to look around. Sometimes you have to pass back pass the pack backwards in the zone and make it give yourself a
030little bit more space and time. So, >> it's there's a lot, but you know, three nothing's not an impossible to come back from in a hockey game. So hopefully coach has a very uh >> uplifting speech during the intermission here and can uh motivate some girls to come out here flying and knock some people over and uh in a nice way of course you know doing that course but you know >> knocking some Hillers around here and and showing that uh they're not going to go down quietly. So >> all right with that let's take a short break and we'll be back at uh puck drop to begin the second period. Thanks Jamie. >> Yep. All right, folks. Welcome back to Ashlin Clockers Co-op Girls Hockey here at New England Sports Center. Ashlin Clockers are
031taking on the Hopkins Hillers. We're beginning the second period. Ashlin down 3 nothing. Um, as we head into the second period, they had three penalties in the first period to no penalties for Hopkin. Two of the goals were scored off of those penalties. And uh as Jamie mentioned to me just a moment ago, one of the important things for Harrison is going to be staying out of the box. >> That would be ideal. I think uh some of the calls were a little light and I'm going to have to blame some referees on that. But at the end of the day though, they can't let people like her, Lucy Jean, walk through and just take shots off. You got to get a body on that kid. So, they got to get physical. I was saying
032in the break, I hope coach told them to go out there and knock some people around cuz uh that's the only way we're going to really get into this game is if we start getting physical. Yeah, as you said, you know, while while technically there's no checking in girls hockey, you certainly can get in players ways. >> Mhm. >> And be a little bit physical. >> O, nice work by Bailey. >> Oh, man. Just missed the net there. Let's not want Oh, what a break there. >> No, take your time with the buck there. >> That's going to be an icing. >> Yeah, another one of those plays where rather than taking your time, skating it out, setting a play up, [snorts] You know, sometimes you do have to flick the puck off a lot
033of pressure. But >> if you're out there for a while and you got to get a shift change maybe, but in that situation, you got, you know, at least 15 ft to get a defender. You could have skated up, chipped it off the boards, got a little closer, you know, got to the red line maybe to get rid of the puck. A shot from point there. Payton in the corner with the puck looking for Helen centering. Oh. >> Wow. What a nice shot. >> That was a tough one. >> That was tough from the corner. Quick centering pass and just point blank range able to get it into the glove side of the net and go up four nothing here with uh just over a minute into the second period. >> We got to get
034our wingers in the in the in the uh alley there to pick up that that winger just sitting there. >> Yeah, Khloe's definitely earning her pay tonight. She a lot of shots on that. >> Sam Kelly with the puck in the middle looking over. Here comes Lyla Houston. Anna Pinto in chase. Molly Wade on the wing. See if they can break out of the zone here cleanly. Anna Pinto looking for the puck. Tries to dish it up to Laya. No dice. Back in the corner to Sam Kelly and look for Molly Wade up here on the wing to skate it up. She goes a little bit of a foot race though. Sam Kelly is a a great player, great skater, good good stick. Looking for her to kind of step up and take some more
035of those rushes. >> Oh, brother. That's a tough one, too. So, >> yeah, number eight there for Hawker today, but just to outlace >> Morgan Beler, I believe number eight. That's her second goal in a row. That's who that was, >> Morgan Beler. That's two in a row for her. Great player. She was great as a youth player and she's still great now. >> Just able to outra the defense there and get behind them. >> Come in on a one-on-one with the goalie. Not much not much you could do there. Defense didn't have a ton of speed there. Back her up. >> We got to connect. Getting out of the zone here. Just flicking it off the boards is not going to work. >> Bailey with the puck in the corner. >> Clear the zone
036there. That's good. 26 Lexi Raymond entered the game. Senior get some ice time for her. Oh, tough bounce off the boards there. >> Fudge clear that puck. Come on now. Lexi getting to the point. Block that shot. Number 12. Also Haley Haley Gail senior captain on the ice too. There you go. Haley Gails in chase. Number 12 up there with number 10. Brianna Frotton. Larara Lur back on the ice. Bailey trying to break out here. Here you go, Bailey. Stick with it, kid. Fourth check there. So, right now we got our their first line against our third. >> So bad match up there again. Lucy just walking through everybody. >> Lucy Jean up for Boston Globe Player of the Week. I guess she's going to go for two weeks in a row. >> I guess
037that was a snipe. I mean, that was top shelf being right right under right under the post um right over the crossbar. It's a beautiful shot. >> Coach picking a good spot here for a timeout. Um clearly we got some defensive breakdowns here, George. And it's unfortunate, but this team is just they're fast. They get around you. If you don't take a body, you are not going to be successful. [snorts] >> Yeah, >> they do have, you know, they have a lot of good players on the team, but number 11, number eight are just >> dynamite. Just needs to settle down a little bit, get into a game rather than um you know, chasing and just trying to clear pucks out of the zone. We talked about it. You know, if you're taking the puck
038and just looking at it aimlessly off the boards, it's just going to turn around, come back in. You got to take your time, keep your head up, people got to move with their feet. Can't be standing still waiting for a puck to come to you. You got to go get it, right? >> This game is going to get out of hand. I hope it doesn't, but it by looks of things in the second period, 6 nothing is not good. >> No, it's still 1124 left to go here in the second period. Popcot also has no penalties called against them, so they're playing a pretty clean game. Um, as you said, you know, refs are being um a little light a little light on the front half of the game, but hopefully there's still plenty of
039game left. I've seen crazier things happen, but you know, six goals is a they can if they can cut that down, you know, just get a couple goals in here, get a couple shots on that, get some bouncing pucks to go our way, I think they're going to have a better game. Hopefully there was some motivational speech there in the in that timeout, but >> well, we'll see how Ashley girls back out. >> Lar Larara Lur back on on the offense here. Liv live a number 19, I believe. >> Liv Young, sorry. Oh, nice block shot. Sam Kelly trying to get one off from the point. Love it. But Emmy Henry behind the net looking for Helen. >> Not Helen. Sorry, Liv. >> Behind the net. Look in the center. >> Oh, I just can't
040get that puck out front. >> That pressure on. Keep that puck in the zone. Good pinch by Sam Kelly there. Keep the puck in. >> Emy's in chase. Lara going in the corner for it. >> Another pinch. >> Nice job. Get a good bounce puck here. Way to keep it in the zone, Sam. Good job, Sam Kelly having a great game. Good shift here, too. What a rip kid. There it is. Oh, off the bicep of the goalie under her pad. Doesn't know where it is. There we go. Get some shots on net. Some bouncing pucks our way. >> Yeah, that was the best shift that um Ashton's had so far. >> Some great zone time. That was a Sam Kelly uh special. She had a great great great shift there. Keep up that positive
041pressure, huh? Got Payton and Helen and Liv. Liz back in here. And let's see if we can do something. Come on, Bailey. >> Tayton wins the face off. Oh, >> Bailey can shoot. That kid is got an absolute rocket. >> Oh, pass the puck up. >> Thing I love about Bailey. >> She will get back. She's great at no quitting that kid. She will She just sprinted from the blue line where she lost the puck and was the first one back to get to that puck. So, great player. Love it. >> Ba Bailey played the body like like you've been saying all all along. She got in there. She's got her stick and then she got her body involved. You can't just You can't just swing at the puck. >> Here we go. >> That's
042going to get called. >> Liz got a shot. >> Come on, Liz. Let's get it. >> Oh, Liza just missed. >> Picks her head up a little too soon there and lost the puck. >> Come on, Nicole from the point. Another tip. >> Oh, come on. >> Oh, >> Lyla Houston with a great chance there. Also has an excellent shot. A couple of Real big opportunities there. Ashlin took the um opportunity in that penalty to pull the goal. He throw six gainers on the ice, get some shots off, but not able to get the goal. >> Just goes to show, you know, a little little couple good pounces for the puck. Um unfortunately, you know, when you get that opportunity too, you got to think about, okay, now we got six on five. Let's slow
043it down a little bit. Let's open up our offense. See if we get some people open some nice clean shots. Had a lot of good opportunities there, but uh let's not let him get on the breakaway here. So we got Anna Pinto, Mila Houston, and Larry Claire on the power play with Olivia Ahern on defense and Sam Kelly. Nice nice headman in the puck there. Laya looking to center it. Where's the tip live trying to get to the point? Nice clear by Hopington. >> See if we can regroup here. >> Break out clean. draw the defense, get rid of it out of the zone. Unfortunate zone face off for Huffington here. >> There's still a minute 20 to go in the power play. So, we'll see how she can get something set up here in
044the Huffington zone. >> Man, what a chance. Liz Liz Liz Dotto coming in on one on the goalie. Just just lost that puck in some maybe in some snow or something. But what a good what a good opportunity. Payton on the center here. Liv Young, Payton, and Liz Despota out there on this offense. See if we get something started here. Ref keeping it in the zone for us, I hope. Nice. They didn't call it, didn't know. All right, let's regroup here. >> Take your time, Bailey. Take time now. Rip that thing. >> There we go. Good shot. >> Cole Rogers at the point, keeping it in. >> Oh, we got to get that puck to somebody. The puck's bouncing around a little bit too much. >> Get that pressure on. >> Yeah, play clear's going
045to be able to clear. >> 40 seconds left in the power play. Ashlin's got to come back. Try to regroup once more. >> Come on now. There you go. >> Nice battle by Liz Payton up to Livia again. Look at Oh, here we go. Nice try by Liz to Spot trying to bounce off the defender in the goal. [snorts] >> Nice spotty check there by Liz sending a message. Set the tone as they say in set the tone early. A little late for that, but hey, it worked. Gave a little body check in the net. Pops a puck out and almost gets a goal. >> It was a good set of pass. >> Laya trying to put it on net. Anna Pinto and Chase >> 15. Here we go. Come on. >> Rebound. Nice shot
046by Sam Kelly. Got to get somebody in front of that goalie. Screening. Clean shots on that. It's going to be tough to get one pass this goalie from the point. >> Maybe have an opportunity for one more shot here on go before the penalty's over. >> L's going to look for the drop to >> win the faceoff. Able to keep it in a Emmy Henchi and looking for it. Here comes Laya. >> One-on-one. Hopefully she can do something with it. Shoot that Yla. >> Oh, what a what a shot. I think that grazed the pipe there. >> That was a nice little toe drag >> by Laya Houston. Great goal. She had a couple beauties last year. Look for her to break the ice this year. Front. Front. There it is. Oh, shoot. Shoot. Shoot.
047No. not get a penalty while we're down there. All even now. Let's slow it down. >> Laya looking like a whiz out there with the puck almost again. Back to the defense. Would be a smart play. Here we go. Anna Ann and a Pinto taking a slapper from the point. >> This is some something must have happened in that timeout cuz we're looking a lot better than we did. George, >> another shot there off the post. >> Ashley able to keep it in and then still to keep it in. Whoa. Great play on the defense there. Olivia Ahern stepping up. Sam Kelly going to get the puck here. JC Leighton out at center. Anna Pinto. Let's take our time with the puck here in the zone. Figure it out. >> 6 and 12 minutes left.
048Y. See if they can keep this pressure up. Get goal here. Yeah, they seem like a new team right now coming into uh the midway here with the second period. >> Yes. >> Here we go. Sam Kelly rushing the puck up looking for something to pass to. Anna Pinto gets a stick on it, but no icing is going to be called here. >> Didn't make it. We go. Good for check pressure. Sam Kelly getting to Liz DPO JC Leton carrying the puck out of the zone here. Let's do something with it. Liv Young. >> Let's get a body on it. Get a body on her. I would walk through. There we go. Good job there. Stepping up. >> Hoping gave the body on her on themselves that time. Was good. Fate and trip. Here we
049go. >> Helen Sencio. Sam Kelly has been out there a long time. We got to get her a shift change. She's going to be crawling to the bench at this point. >> This is going to be called icing. >> Yep. >> Hey, different team >> really. I mean, they all of a sudden the uh >> intensity has come way up. >> Agree. Five and a half minutes left to go here in the second period. National looking to put something on the board. >> Payton on the draw here. Helen, Nicole Rogers, and Lizbo out there. There you go, Helen. Go for the trip again. Give it another one. Come on. Come on, ref. >> How's that called? >> That was horrible. That was horrible. Was a double trip. Could have called two penalties on that one.
050Peyton rushing the puck up here. Helen getting out of her way. They're on sides. Peyton puts it on net. Liz looking for that backboard uh bounce in front of the net. Mhm. Nice back check by Liz. Going to put her in the boards here. Rub her out. Nice. Someone's got to get there. >> Nice job there. Take it right out of the play. >> Nice job, Bailey. Stay with it. Stay with it. Save by Chloe again. >> Blind shot. Didn't see it. Made a nice positional save. Let's turn this puck over. Here we go. Payton and Liz working their way up the zone here. Another trip. Nobody. Everybody got the penalty on that one. They got on that one. Hands up. All right, here we go. We'll see if we can do some of this
051power play. >> Finally get a tripping call after three trips. >> That was that was blatant. The first one. See the coach's hands fly up over here on the bench screaming at the refs. >> Yeah, that was more like a dive for the feet versus uh you know, a stick to the feet. tell you that Helen uh Sensio, she was uh going to be a Tri Valley or BBT I believe and then she turned around and and uh she played summer league for us two years ago as an eighth grader and she was she was a good player back then. She's already she's gotten much stronger, much faster. You can just see that first couple steps she gets with that puck. She she had both those kids beat and that's why they tripped her cuz
052they couldn't do anything else. >> Oh no, there we go. >> Two on one breakaway here. >> Anna, take the playerhanded. >> Nice job. Great job. Anna got back. Got to the other player in the on the break. Liv Young and getting the puck up. Here we go. Skate it. You got plenty of space. Take it. Take it. Go Molly. Yep. >> Laya on. Keeping it in the zone. Just under a minute to go here on the penalty. Ashlin Hopkins are looking to make something happen. Are they clear? >> Okay, so let's take our time. Look for the best option. Good passes. There you go, Helen. >> No, a little bit too hard. She's going to >> Cole Rogers and Chase get the puck. >> 27 seconds left on the power play. just cannot seem to get a clean pass off. There we go. >> Liz Dodo with the puck. Payton getting off the bench. Helen coming down the middle. Last trailers. Payton. Oh lord. That's going to be a hook. Nope. They
054didn't call it. Lucy Jane passes off. That's a Beler again I think who had the shot there. Yeah. >> Bailey getting in front of that. >> Morgan Beler Peyton entering the zone getting a shot off looking for a rebound. >> Liz to Helen. >> Oh, nice shot. Got to get on that forehand. >> Payton coming over to help. Payton trip. >> Liz Dpodto trying to body her up. Someone's got to get that puck back. Go Helen. There you go. Payton trip. Possible. >> Swallowed up by the defense there. >> Liv Young trying to make a play on the boards, I believe. >> Sorry, Olivia Ahern. Like three or four Olivia on this team. It's hard to keep. >> Another backhand. Umgan >> loose Morgan Beler with another excellent goal. So we got two hatticks. Uh
055[music] one hattick underway and we got another one coming I think. >> Yeah. >> Came across the front of the net and went top shelf for the backhand. Just able to get that under the crossbar with a minute of 31 left here in the second period. Ashlin down 7 nothing. All comes down to controlling that puck, George, and taking your time with the puck. And they are not doing that. >> No. >> If you got to get good passes out of the zone, clean entry, >> it's not looking good. >> No, we had a couple of shifts where seemed to turn it around and suddenly the intensity was there. You know, the the passing was there >> and then it kind of, you know, goes away a little bit. There you go. >> Emmy Henchi
056over to Larry. >> Nice work. Keeping in the zone keeping the puck >> in front. Look in front. There you go. >> Larry, one more pass. Nice look. Nice thought. >> There you go. Puck away from me. >> Got to get some back check here. You got threeon one happening. Getting together here. This looks like the uh they got the third or they got their third or fourth line out there. Pretty obvious. And getting a shot on goal. >> Yeah, offensive zone. Got some heads hanging pretty low here on the way back to the bench. They got to get their uh turning around here. >> Yeah, it's tough being down 7 nothing with a whole period left in front of you. >> Only 43 seconds left to go here in the second period. prioritize it
057up again. >> Reset and do the same thing all over again. >> Laya Houston on the faceoff. Good win. Haley Gails out there again. Some ice time. Captain, senior Lyla Anna Pinto. Cole Rogers going to pick it out of the corner. And Pinto gets a clear. 14 seconds left here in second. Let's hope we can get out of our zone here and not have anything too negative happen here to us. There we go. Twoon one generating here. 4 seconds left. Hopefully get a pass off. right away. >> Oh, we got to get that pass off >> and a pinto on her forehand there. It would have been a nice option. Not a lot of time left though to probably make that pass off and get a shot. So, good play by Laya get to get
058it on net. >> All right. Well, that wasn't uh the second period I [music] think we were hoping for. I mean, although we did see some flashes of brilliance during that period, they just couldn't hold that up. >> The intensity was there to start after that timeout and after that just kind of fell off. Uh um you know, it's kind of bit of a dagger to the heart when you get uh you're playing so well for a couple minutes there and then they just turn around and go score. So hopefully the team can bounce back and and not uh I've yet to see this team quit, which is a good thing. I think they're they got good heads on them and they're going to come out same thing. Hopefully we'll start flying. Sure, coach is
059going to have some things to say in the locker room um about, you know, hopefully positive things about the couple shifts they had there and see if they can replicate that cuz I need to sit down or have a drink after that uh two periods. George, that was that's not what we expected today from this team, sadly. >> Well, why don't we give you a break? You can get your blood pressure down a little bit and we'll put you on your meds and then we'll come back on the third period. >> Yeah, sounds good. >> Right. We'll be back. All right, welcome back everybody to Ashlin girls clocker co-op hockey where the Ashlin Clockers are taking on the Hopton Hillers. Ready to start the third period. And there we go. We're underway. Ashlin is down
0607 nothing against the Hillers um as we get going on this third period. >> King, I know you I don't want to make you repeat yourself over and [laughter] over again, but >> I think uh hopefully they respond to whatever was talked about in the locker room cuz they got to come out here. There's no quit. You know, these kids, they've been in some games where we lost seven to two. You know, they were battling till the end. So hopefully uh we continue to do the same and we uh come out flying, come out hitting. I think that should happen hopefully. >> Great job there by Chloe able to >> take away any space for that goal coming in. >> That was a beauty of a move by Huffington but get Emmy Hansen on the
061for check right behind her. >> Nice job centering pass and oh just not able to get a stick on it. >> Cole Rogers at the point keeping it in. >> Not able to get a stick on it. have to kick it in. >> Quick change happening here. Some forwards. Carly Leighton on defense from Nicole Rogers. Liv Young, the other wing. Helen Sencio getting in here. Turn that puck around, Helen. Here we go. Keep that head up through the zone. Nice. Great player. Great player. Move between the legs. Oh, what a nice option. >> She's still loose. >> She saw the five hole though, but tried to sneak it in there. >> Wor, what a nice tow drag move she had there. Get past the defense. Back to Nicole from Payton. Putting it on the net.
062We got to get that puck down, kid. You know we can tip it in from above their shoulder. >> Have some call here. >> It's a high stick by Payton, I believe, on the uh shot from Nicole. Have a face off outside the zone. High stick call. >> Kind of a late call. Yep. >> They wait they wait for possession after the high stick happens if it's going to happen. So, um >> we got to get pucks on net but keep them low to get a chance to get a tip in. >> Face off here to the right of Chloe on the Ashlin zone. Let's see if Ashley can trans transition out. >> Olivia Ahern with the around the boards there. Olivia back with the puck again. Payton, nice patience there. Up to Anna Pinto.
063Anna Pinto is going to get a rip here. >> Oo, live almost. Hopping defense just swarming, tying up our players whenever they get close to the puck. Payton battling. Liv battling. Helen comes out with it. Payton again with it. Liz's going to try to get back in the zone. Nice play. Sam Kelly with the puck. Looking for Helen off the boards. Maybe I'm just going to run it through herself. This is a good little drive here. Good rush. Rebound. Got one defender here hanging back. Big problem. Oh, >> Bailey Barry with the puck. Looking up the clear. Sam behind the net. Payton coming around trying to give her a hand. >> Helen's got skate sharp today, I think. Couple falls there. There we go. Come on, Anna Pinto. Let's get those wheels going, kid. Nice

Both >> Yeah. getting free. >> Olivia Ahern
065having a great game today. >> Molly Wade out there. JC Leighton. >> High stick there on Molly. Number 10 all over. [clears throat] >> Sam Kelly trying to rush the puck. trading pucks back and forth here on the neutral zone. >> Little Ahern, Sam. >> Good patience. >> You need to send that across to the weak side. >> The bouncing puck. Here we go. Hopefully he's got something left the tank to get there. Oh, don't tip for JC. Thought JC was going to get interference call there trying to hook her. a little bummed about that. She had a great shot. She should be shaking her head there. It was a good rush. Good shot. >> Icing on Huffington. >> Nothing to hang your head about there. It was great rush. Great great shot. Goalie just
066made a good stop on her. >> Looking good out there. A little different. Came out. They came out flying. That's for sure. >> She definitely has a lot more hop in their step. Brianna Fton and Haley Gails out there with Lexi Raymond. Bailey with the puck. >> Oh, little feed up to the middle. >> Let's get shot. >> There you go. Lexi on the doorstep there for the rebound. >> Another face off to the right side. Hopkins in his own. >> Olivia St. Pierre on defense as well making her It's >> good pinch right there. Good job. >> Let's make sure we get a body on this one. So, right now we got a little bit of a mixed match. We got first line versus uh not our first line. >> Nice job. >> Good
067job breaking up the pass to the front. Haley Gails with the puck trying to corral it. Get it out of the zone. Here we go. >> Just got out of the zone. >> See if they regroup here. Lexi Raymond and chasing it off sides. Wasn't able to get back on time. >> Hen spill there. >> The ice is slippery. Face off just outside of the zone. >> Larur got Emmy Henchi and looks like Liv Young at center trying to wind up. There we go. That's out of the zone. Good push. Good push. There we go. Lara cross. >> Okay, let's take an offensive zone faceoff. Nice shot by Chloe. >> Sorry, >> Emmy. >> By by the time next year, I'll get those two straight. It's pretty obvious one's a goalie and one's a forward
068and they still can't get it right. So, apologize to their parents for that. But battling for the puck. Here's Nicole. Settle that puck. They would keep it in. >> Cole again dumps it in the zone. If we can dump and chase here. Liv Young and Chase on the forch check. Lara Kerr Olivia St. No, that's Carly Leighton on defense. Nice back check there by by Emmy. Nice for check again there. Couple goals scored on a power play. >> Yeah. >> Couple nice breakaways. >> So Jamie, give us give us the three bright points in today's matchup. They came out firing. Uh, you know, when you're down and you come back on back on
075the ice and you're down four nothing, five nothing, whatever it was, they came out and they they they came out swinging and uh, you know, they didn't quit. Even here in the back in the last quarter, last period, came out swinging again and they they had their best period in the third. Um, you know, team didn't quit. It's a big positive. Had a lot of good things that came out of a couple of nice shots, couple good rebounds. Um, you know, looking good. I think uh >> Khloe Henchie. That's probably get the star of the game for her. They give away the uh unicorn mask and a hard hat mask for player of the game and hard hat of the game for working hard. So, there's plenty of girls out there who busted their butts
076trying to make it a positive. >> This is one of these games where Clover could turn around and kind of hang her head and say, "Gee, I gave gave him seven goals." But six of the seven goals were goals that no, you know, very few people could have stopped. >> Yeah. Backhand top corner. two or three of those is tough.
