Tonight's Tri Valley League matchup features the two and five Norwood Mustangs and your six-1
008Ashlin Clockers. Along with Rob Silver, I'm Josh Abrams. And Rob, the first half of last week's game had us thinking it could be a trap game, but the defense kept the Wolverines off the board the entire second half. What do you think we're going to see tonight? >> Well, I think they're going to come come out fired up. It's senior night. Uh they've had enough of these uh kind of lazy first halfs where they've been kind of uninspired. They did that against Whand in Whand. Bellingham, they struggled. Uh Hollist was really the only game where they came out from the from the start and dominated. So hopefully they're getting ready for playoffs and they'll come out on the initial kickoff and just dominate. >> Okay. Well, as you can see [laughter] live on our cameras,
009it is going to be a tough weather night for both teams. You can see the rain blowing from right to left across your screen. So Rob, I think, you know, is that going to take the passing game out of the out of out of commission for these two teams? >> Well, fortunately for the Clarkers, they rely heavily on the run. >> Mhm. >> And uh you know, like going back to that Hollist game where they dominated, they threw the ball one time and they were one for one, so they don't need to pass. I saw a couple warm-ups by the uh Norwood team and they seem to handle it fairly well, but under game conditions and, you know, a couple players in your face, it changes everything. And then it's a matter of holding on
010to the ball, too. It's going to get it's cool, it's slippery, so turnovers could play a factor as well. But I think the weather favors the clockers. >> Okay. Obviously, homefield advantage as well here on senior night. And uh again, I believe last game of the regular season for both these teams excluding the Thanksgiving game. So Clocker's coming in tonight at number seven in the MIAA Division 4 Power Rankings and I believe Norwood at number 20. So from what I've read, uh top 16 teams make the playoffs. So season ends tonight ended for tonight. Uh nor would be on the outside looking in, but the clockers in the driver's seat. We're expecting uh at least one home playoff game from them. >> Yeah, assuming you know everything goes according to plan for tonight. Be nice
011to have a home playoff game and anything can happen once the playoffs start. Maybe we uh see an upset and get a couple home playoff games. >> Okay, getting ready for the coin toss and then the national anthem. But uh yeah, this Norwood team played fairly tight against Hollist. So I don't know if Hollist has some injuries [cheering] in their lineup cuz we handled them 4213. Norwood came out last week uh broke a long run, took the lead 7 nothing, but I think the final was 28-21. So fairly competitive game considering this team got blown up by Westwood and we dominated Westwood. But anything can happen week to week as we've seen. Speaking of last week, Kevin Ozumba, four touchdowns, yards rushing, a school record, heclipsed Colin Henrian's season, a career record of 3600 something
012yards with one game to go. and Coach McKay, the Century Fox, joining the uh Century Club with his hundth career win for himself and the coaching staff who have been with him all along. >> Mhm. Yeah. The Metro Daily News really did a nice job of setting the context about how Coach McKay came in here, took over what I could generously describe as a more abundant program, having gone winless the two seasons prior to his takeover, and has really built this into a successful program. Yeah, it's one of those things where if they don't make the playoffs, as was the case last year, it's it's quite disappointing. >> What a change in expectations in this town, right? >> Yeah. And they, you know, barring an upset tonight and uh Bobby Platinum has the clockers favored
013by 14 and a half. firing an upset. Um yeah, the Tri Valley Large Champs >> pause for the national anthe >> [crying] >> Early [singing] so proud we at the twilight [singing] last stripes and bright stars [singing] For the weed [singing] were so clear [singing] that our flag was still there. Oh. made us [singing] starink for the land of the free and the hope of God. [applause and cheering] getting a steady supply of just high quality singers. >> Incredible. And they're all you Ashlin students. It's just really, really impressive. >> Right. The regular. You don't want to miss a week because you may get uh >> replaced similar Lou Garri, Wally Pip, >> right? Absolutely. >> Never get the job back. So, I'll defer to Josh. Did we win or lose the coin toss, Josh?
014That's your job every week. [laughter] >> Okay. >> News to me. It looks like uh >> regardless, we're going to receive. >> Call it a win. Call >> and the Mustangs are going to kick with the wind. And what do we have for the uh 126 self storage weather bug temperature? >> 55 degrees at game time. >> All right, Kevin Ozumba back deep. You'll notice him on with the orange cleats. Easy to identify as that kick sails into the end zone. Be a touchback. >> Kicking with the wind. [laughter] >> Kicking with the wind. >> Tropical storm force winds. You can call her by her name. It's Melissa. >> It's not Melissa. >> No, >> I'm telling you it's not Melissa. >> Sure. We have a lot of fans. Te tell us what I think
015this is unrelated to Melissa. Melissa went out way down south. Never even threatened the United States. >> Okay, first play of from scrimmage for the Clockers. Hand off to Ozima. Has a hole. Breaks out to the near sideline, but tackled by a couple of Norwood players. >> So, it looks like about a 5-yd gain there on first down. >> Yep. >> And we'll do the best we can as far as calling players name. We don't even have the Norwood roster yet. Do we have that yet? We do not. Okay. But we're also confined inside the fieldhouse because of the weather, not on the roof. So, we're crowded in here. We'll do the best we can do. >> Okay. Credit Kevin with six yards on that first down carry. So, second and four for the clockers.
016Cory Padelfford in motion >> again to Ozalumba. >> And another six. That's a dozen on the night. That's enough for that. First down. >> Okay. Spread formation now. Loan loan back in the back field here for the Clockers. Aanin throws out to the near side. tackled out of bounds. >> Yeah, that's number 13, Owen Wolf. >> Aaron Wolf. >> So, I always confuse Owen Wolf from number two with Aaron Wolf, but Aaron Wolf >> Wolf accomplish. Yeah, >> Karen. >> Aaron Wolf, the accomplished place kicker for the clockers. >> For your starter on this Ashlin Clocker squad. So, second and two for the Clockers. Looks like kind of an eye formation back there. Hand off to Oz Lumba up the middle and those gaps quickly closed, but not before he approaches the first down mark.
017>> Yeah, right at the line. It looks like they're going to give him enough and they do. >> Yeah, we got a tough angle here in the press box tonight. So, uh, deferring to the refs the whole way. >> Have a great angle if we want to see the Ashlin field hockey roster. pinned up in front of the wall on front of my face. >> So, a successful start here for the Clockers. Uh, two first downs, >> 945 and counting in the first quarter. >> This is this is their the way they do it. They grind it out and uh shotgun, excuse me, Wildcat formation, direct snap to the lumba, breaks a tackle. >> He was one ankle tackle away from breaking it for the for the house. That's what he does. Four yards, five
018yards, and >> and then he's gone. >> Yeah. >> He'll find a hole and he'll just explode. He did that last week. He had touchdown runs of 27 yards, 8 yards, 78 yards, and 86. >> Yep. >> As the clockers continue to go undefeated in games in which Kevin runs for or scores three or more touchdowns. You're big on that stat. >> I'm gonna keep going to it. >> Okay, shotgun formation. >> Nick Boomer in motion. >> This time it's going to be Malachi Lambert. >> And again, an ankle tackle away from taking it to the house. Great run for Lambert. Another first down for the Clockers as they're penetrating deeper into Norwood territory. Yeah, that front line has just been doing a great job opening up holes all year. >> Yeah, and as the
019season's progressed, it's gotten better and better. >> And the poor defense has to focus on Oz Lumba and Malachi Lambert is no drop off at all when he gets the ball. >> Okay, you got a full backfield now. Three wide outs. >> Keeper >> Atherton's going to keep it. Rumbles ahead. He got stood up for a moment, but then his teammates came to his rescue and pushed him forward for an extra couple of yards. >> Yeah, he's a big big guy. >> Mhm. situations. We talked about, you know, your Philadelphia Eagles tush push type thing. He He doesn't need the push. He can do it all himself. >> Absolutely. >> Okay. Tighter formation this time again. Two backs flanking Atherdan. That's Wolf in motion. Ozumba just keeps turnurning those legs. >> It's got to be
020so demoralizing on the defense. looks to be >> and really impressive too uh you know for Ozumba just the churning on a on wet turf. I mean these are again tough field conditions tonight and he's not losing grip. He's he's able to keep pushing forward. >> I'm sure athletic director Peter Connor is out there squeegeeing the field just to make sure there's no ex >> I saw him driving the Zamboni before. >> That's how he gets to work. Okay, Atherton under center this time. >> Malachi Lambert. Plenty of room. Gets into the secondary. Brought down. >> And another clocker first down. A very impressive, methodical drive here on the opening drive for the Clockers tonight. >> Yeah. 11 12 yds on that carry. The clock down to 627. 5 and a half minute drive already
021for the Clockers. Into the wind. Pitch to Lambert carrying defenders with him as he plows ahead for another five yards. >> And Rob, what I'm noticing is every rush, whether it's Lambert or Ozumba, everything is either going up the middle or to the right. So they must have identified some weakness on that side of the uh the Norwood line. >> Yeah. And it might be a weakness on the Norwood line or a strength on the clocker side because we saw that last week too. Oz Lumba was able to break those on the on the right side. He had a lot more success there. >> Yeah. I mean they're working on the short side of the field. So you >> and completely successful >> and they go the other way just to >> just to mix
022it up. Oel evades the tackle. >> Gets down close to the goal line. >> Yeah. >> eight yd run I believe. >> Okay. So Rob, do you go for the first down or you go for the touchdown? >> Yeah, that's that's that's an excellent question. Depends on whether you have them to score before five minutes. >> Aton forges ahead. I don't think he gets there. Down to the oneyd line. >> Yep. No, no score signal from the refs yet. >> First down. >> So, they do convert. >> And we're under five minutes. So, >> depending which side you were on. [laughter] We kid. We kid. Because that's what we do. I don't even know what that means. Over under five minutes for a score, >> right, Rob? You no idea. >> Right. Here's the $2
023I owe you. [laughter] >> Okay, first and goal for the Clockers. Atheran under center. >> He's got Nick Boomer. Atherton's going to keep it himself and he's into the end zone, I believe. >> Signal. >> Clocker touchdown. 427 to go. Clockers are on the board. >> 6 nothing behind the >> legs of quarterback Ben Athetherton. >> Okay, Wolf lines up for the extra point. Here's the snap. It's down. It's up and it's good. So, 7 nothing here in the first quarter. Clockers up. >> And we got quick break and a word from our sponsors. 126 Self Storage is located at 162 Pond Street and is owned by Ashlin native Michael Keane. Gated and fenced with 24-hour security cameras, they offer convenient drive-up storage units for both your residential and commercial needs. Temperature control units and

And thank you to Michael Kane for being a great underwriter for WACA's coverage of Ashlin High School football games. >> Line drive, end over end kick. A little slippery, a little fielded cleanly. Nord turns that into a really nice return down at about the 33. >> That's what I call the neutral zone. Any starting position between like the 25 and the 35 is is kind of neutral. Anything over the 35 is favorable for the offense. >> So you're you're looking at that territory is kind of Switzerland. >> Yeah, exactly. Exactly. Good to know. [laughter] >> Okay. First offensive possession of the night for Norwood. They'll start at their own 33. >> Yeah. I'm thinking about the Swiss chocolate my coworker brought
025back last month when she went to Switzerland. Not the tool wrong. Nice. Oh, >> low snap. Fielded cleanly by the quarterback. Looking looking out of options getting pursued now. >> Somehow turns that into positive yards. It looked like they were going to have him down right around the line of scrimmage. It turns into about a three- yard game. >> Yeah, he did a good job and the line did a good job >> with the protection >> as we tick under four minutes. Okay, Norwood showing three wide outs, two to the near side. Lone van in the back field. Shotgun snap going to be a keeper. Breaking toward the near sideline and tackled. First man in is Lambert. Pat St. Peter came in to help there. >> Okay, clock continues to run and we're down under
0263:15 to go in the first quarter. I'm just getting used to again due to the weather. Uh we don't have our usual uh scoreboard bug in the top right corner. So, we'll keep you guys apprised of score and time. and we don't have the roster. I I'll blame it on the weather >> and all the other activity as the quarterback gets to the outside >> and it is Owen Wolf from to make the first contact, but >> only after about 15 yards. >> Hugo Rossi finally able to bring him down, but as you mentioned, Robin, not before he gained a ton of yards and a first down. 42 yd line. >> Okay, our thanks to Steve Clark here in the booth for helping us out with some identification. It looks like uh Kevin Roach, the
027quarterback, is going to be a key figure on this Norwood offense tonight. >> You'll hear his name a lot on the mic. [laughter] >> Oh, >> got a false start. >> Flags everywhere on that play. Clock stops with 216 to go in the first quarter. Clockers up 7 nothing. >> So pushes him back the five yds. >> Clock continues to run as we approach the twominute mark. Roach and shotgun again. >> He's got to be careful with this. This is a pretty good secondary between Ozumba Wolf Wolf and Hugo Rossi >> puts it away. Oh, he's hit. >> Looked like at least three clockers bringing him down on the far sideline. >> Nick Boomer in on the tackle. >> Almost reached the original line of scrimmage, so it'll be second and 12. Second and 11.
028in his second 120 in counting in the Mr. Handyman first quarter. >> Okay, Mustangs out the line. Roach again in shotgun. Here's the snap. He's going to keep it himself. >> Oh, >> hatchet. Yep. >> And a fumble. >> Clockers say they have it. Reps a green hit. >> That's number five. Is that Braden me [cheering] >> coming up with a huge turnover? >> This is a really good sign, Rob. defense didn't start showing up with forcing turnovers till the second half last week. And here they are on Norwood's first drive of the night, forcing the turnover and starting with excellent field position at their own 40. >> Yeah, they they got to get playoff ready. So, it's it's nice to see a half like this. You you can't go up against these playoff teams
029and have a half like they did last week and >> expect to advance. Yeah, deep. Oz lumba. >> Nice tackle. That was number 57 for Norwood. >> Yeah, Ozumba. Not for a lack of trying, unfortunately. Tackled for a loss on that play, but it could have been much worse as he he was able to work through that first tackle. I mean, he was met early in the back field. >> Yeah, like nobody nobody touched him. Clockers get off one more play here with 16 seconds to go. 154. Hatchet in motion. Gets the hand off. Goes out wide. >> Well, he gained a lot of East West yards on that play, Rob. >> Yeah, he was looking for a hole. Didn't get it. But uh that's going to bring the first quarter to an end with

That makes more sense. >> Jeff Hall, our executive producer chiming in. Thank you, Jeff. Appreciate it. >> Okay. Okay, we didn't see this gunk formation the entire first drive, Rob, and now it's almost exclusively gunk here on this drive. Ozumba trying to go around the far side. First down and 10. >> Want to give a quick shout out on the chat to at St. Earth tuning in tonight from Northern New Mexico where yeah, I certainly hope it's a lot warmer and drier than it is here in Ashlin right now. So 855 to go in the second quarter. >> Clockers punch it in again. 13- nothing. Pending the extra point here by Owen Wolf. >> He looks good. Mhm. Absolutely. >> So Clockers out to an early 14- nothing lead. Especially helped by the uh big play by the defense forcing the fumble on Norwood's first drive of the night. And so far, Clocker is just dominating in time of possession and total yards. >> Yeah. And it's it's nice to see this type of game for the Clockers versus Norwood because in the past they've started to
038develop a little rivalry and they've been very very competitive. The games have gotten a little chippy. >> So, >> it's nice to see Ashlin make a statement early. and quiet the fans that have braved their way out to the stands. >> So, Iron Wolf getting to kick with the win this time. Wonder if they try something a little tricky just practice-wise for playoff time. >> Okay, short end overend kick going to be gathered. Oh, >> w up letting it go, but fielded cleanly. >> Yeah, that's twice they've gotten that one hop with some momentum >> worked against them. as they uh got into Switzerland territory >> and we're back in Switzerland >> 32 yd line. >> That's pretty good observation. Would you agree with me though on the uh starting field position for >> It's

I might even say 26 because the 25 if you're able to get a touchback and force them to start on the 25, that's >> okay. >> In favor of the defense. >> Okay, >> so I can agree with that. >> All right, >> so first and 10 here for the Mustangs. >> Roach fakes it, keeps it himself, >> fakes the handoff, and >> we have another fumble. We were talking earlier, no um >> Hollist had beat them twice this year and Ashland drawing them in the playoffs. >> Not to be deterred with a nice three-2 victory to advance in the playoffs. >> Hard count and >> see how they're going to call this. The hard count did draw some motion from
041Ashland, but they reset and then the def the offensive line jumped. >> So, >> wow. False start. There it is. >> Kind of Rob, it looked to me like perhaps a couple members of the defense did encroach over the line, but they were able to get back and the call is against Norwood a false start. So, have to check the replay cuz generally speaking, if they do go over, they don't allow them to come back like they do in the NFL. They'll call it I think they just uh moved because they saw some movement on the offense. >> Mhm. I'm >> waiting for him to throw. I'm looking for a Hugo Rossi or an Owen Wolfrram interception. Here's the roll out. He's looking to throw >> and a completion. That was to number four wide
042receiver for Norwood. Not a first down. Again, they had a lot of yards to make up for after that penalty. >> Yeah, picked up about nine. Daniel. >> So, I think Hatchet had some good pressure there on Roach, but Roach able to get the pass off. It's complete. >> Always uh impressive when a quarterback, a righty rolls to his left and able to make a nice throw like that. It >> was a good throw, not a great throw. >> Yeah, I mean I mean no extra points for level of difficulty, Rob, but a nice play nonetheless. >> So, it is second and four. Fullback in motion. Roach going to keep it himself. A design keeper spreading it out to the outside. >> Dives ahead for a first down. >> Kevin Roach. He will be tackled
043by however. >> So Norwood into Ashland territory now. Ball spotted at the Ashland 46 >> as the clock ticks under 6 minutes. 550 to go. >> No would love to get a score on the board. They do get the ball to start the second half. >> I will defer to you as I have the uh obstructed view. >> Okay. Oh, a low pitch that I saw. Okay, low snap I should say. And wow, >> Kevin Ozumba. >> Was able to pick up the loose ball, but probably regrets it as he was thinking the same thing. >> Destroyed at the line by Oz Lumba. So Kevin Dwan on both sides of the ball right now. Clock ticking down toward 5 minutes to go in the first half. >> Roachi able to eke out a gain of
044a yard. I can't believe he got positive yardage out of that between between the bad snap and uh and just the big hit by Oza Lumba. Got to keep him honest. Okay, Mustangs head for the line. Lone set back. Three wide four wide outs split evenly. Number four in motion nowading to overload the far side. >> Good comic strip. You don't hear much about it anymore. >> What's that? the far side. [laughter] Ro cans it off. >> Number 25. >> Little gain. >> Mermlstein get credit for that tackle. >> Spiders say Owen Wolram. >> Happy to give him credit for that tackle. Was a great play. Brings up third and eight >> with about four minutes to go here in the first half. So after they stop him here on third down, do you think
045they go for it on fourth down? >> I think they have to. You know, they're not going to get the ball back this half. >> There's the pitch to number two. >> He didn't make it. He gets driven out of bounds right into the Ashlin bench. It's going to bring up fourth down >> in about five yards. Four, good spot. Four yards. It's not going to be enough for >> 341 to go. >> Okay, Norwood taking their time coming up with with this play and finally we do get the timeout. So, uh, with 341 to go and the clockers up 14 to nothing, we'll take a quick break. Word from our sponsors. You're watching Ashlin varsity football on WACA. >> May I attlex Healthcare leverages its worldclass material science knowledge to deliver better patient outcomes
046by designing and manufacturing products that allow for less invasive procedures, reduce pain, enable faster healing, and safer drug delivery. >> Give me the pizza right now. Brought to you in part by Townhouse. Pizza, Subs, Roast beef, and more. Be sure to fill up with the Buffalo Chicken Cow Zone that's been called one of the best in the area. >> This will be a fourth down forward line. And welcome back to Ashlin Norwood football here. Thursday night action. A rare Thursday night. Fourth down for Norwood from the clocker 40. Fourth and four. Biggest play of the night. Low snap going long down the sideline. He's open. Incomplete as he goes trailing out of bounds. So >> clockers catch a break there as the receiver was open. Had the opportunity just uh now kind of sailed on
047him. Got caught up in that jet stream [laughter] >> even though it was against him. It just kind of >> floated. So as we go through the change of possessions, clockers taking over loss on downs. Want to make sure we thank uh tonight's crew. Jeff Hall, Brady Monosino, and uh Paul Bowden who was here earlier helping with setup. We appreciate you guys. Thanks for all your help getting set up. Again, these are the unsung heroes putting in the hours so that we can uh Rob and I can just walk in, put on the headsets, and bring you Ashlin football on WACA. And once again, it's the pitch to Kevin Osumba. >> How did he get those last 10 yards? Holy cow. [laughter] >> Wow. >> Magic. Almost like a wizard. Like you would say the
048wizard of Oz. Oh, that's a Yeah. Yeah. Good one. >> 14 yds. And there's Malachi Lambert the other direction. >> They really are a great pair of complimentary runners. Rob, >> that was interesting. They didn't even give the uh linesman time to set the sticks. Usually the refs will do a uh >> call a timeout. Okay, that's the case here. A timeout Norwood. They weren't ready for the two-minute drill. threeminute drill. >> Well, I mean, they're already like they're already into a no hurry. Yeah. Hurry up offense. So, >> yeah. >> By the way, Rob, I don't know if you saw this on the chat, but apparently the Blake Brennan fan club is here tonight in the stands checking in. This is uh Coell 312, if I'm saying that correctly, saying he's here in the
049stands. He says, "What's up, guys?" So, Coell 312, all good here in the booth. Appreciate you have having you here at the game and uh and checking in here on the chat. It's great in the booth. I can't even imagine being in the stands [laughter] right now other than you're watching a phenomenal game. But >> I mean, if you're a Clocker fan, at least. [laughter] >> It's a good point. >> I feel like I feel like our last game against Westwood that uh the chat was dominated by Westwood fans. >> Yeah. >> So, coming out of the Norwood timeout, Clockers will be taking over here. see where they're going to spot the ball at the 39, the Norwood 39. Three minutes exactly on the board left here in the first half. >> Second and three
050after that sevenyd scamper by Malachi Lambert. This time it's Ozumba going to the left side of the line pushing ahead for five yds and a first down. >> 253 to go. Clock stops momentarily as they move the chains. And Athetherton keeps it. >> Actually, Lambert ended up with it. >> Yep, you are correct. >> So, Boomer setting a nice block for him. And again, the clockers in the hurry up offense barely giving Norwood a chance to set their defense already into the gunk formation. Atheran under center. Lambert and Oz Lumba flanking on either end of that formation. Atheran keeps. follows some blockers and he's gone. >> Number three for number three, >> Ben Atherton on senior night having the game of his life as the clockers go up 20 to nothing. So, Aaron Wolf in
051here for the extra point. Successful the first two times tonight. Bad snap. Keeper Tan trying to keep it and tackled for a loss. So, extra point fails due to a bad snap. So, it score will stay 20 to nothing with 219 to go in the first half. I was focusing on the uh the snapper trying to get the number because we never recognize him. But it's number 20 Adam Warky who's done >> now. You're going to recognize him. >> Well, he's had a phenomenal uh season. >> I didn't see was it >> one bad snap and you're going to recognize him, Rob. >> I'm recognizing him. >> All the humanity [laughter] >> for everything he's done up until that snap. How bad was it? >> I didn't I honestly couldn't see it. I was with
052>> it. It's all It's all the conditions. I mean, it just came out low. It rolled on the ground. And I mean, Aan was lucky to just to grab it cleanly. Tried to make it make turn into something, but it was just too late. >> So, they're not going to they're not going to bench him. >> No. No. I would I would say they're not going to bench him. And And I would say, you know, due to the hurry up offense on that last drive by the clockers, we're going to have to push tonight's dad joke out to the second half. >> Wow. Well, that's that's going to keep the viewership up. You know, sometimes you get a blowout, people, you know, will tune out. >> Sure. >> Okay. Well, no, no World Series game
053tonight, so we, you know, one less thing to compete against. >> So, it's a line drive kick taking advantage of the wet turf. Not fielded cleanly this time, but plenty of room to run. Brings it back to about the 30 31 yd line. So, back to Switzerland goes Norwood. >> 211 to go in the half. plenty of time. Although I I believe they have one time out left. So, one thing I wanted to mention, it's when I did the first game, Brian Sci was asking, you know, who who did I want in the World Series, Toronto or the Dodgers? >> I think I was saying the Dodgers because I really wanted the Mariners. So, I was kind of >> reverse jinxing it. Well, I just was upset that the uh Toronto had beaten the Mariners,
054but then I I realized actually Ashlin has two alumni playing in the Toronto Farm system >> at double A for the Fisher Cats. >> Here's a tackle for perhaps a loss. >> So, I've switched my allegiance and I'm rooting for Toronto. We have Alex Amalfi >> and Jackson Horning >> both playing double A ball up there in New Hampshire. >> Fisher Cats, I believe. Yes, it is the fisher cats. What's a uh a pack of fisher cats? Is it a pack? Is it a >> I don't think I don't think it's a herd. I don't think it's a herd. [laughter] >> It's certainly not a murder. >> The crows. >> Uhhuh. [laughter] >> Okay. Second and eight for Norwood in their own territory. >> 132 and ticking. They may be content to just uh run
055out the clock. It's a play action fake for Roach throwing. >> Let it fly. >> Yeah. Under. He's covered by Rossy who blocks it aside. Well timed. Perfectly played by Rossy. So that's going to bring up third and eight now for Norwood. Clock stops at a minute 17 to go here in the first half. Ball at the 33. >> It's a pack. [laughter] And and if and if you fans have questions and don't have access to uh >> Google the internet, >> you wouldn't be able Yeah, you wouldn't be able to text us. So that doesn't >> Yeah. Let's play Stump Robin Josh. That should be a lot of fun. [laughter] >> Does not take much. >> No, I was going to say the things we don't know could fill a library of books. >>
056Look at that wind picking up. >> Here's the snap keeper by Roach up the middle. >> He is met by a gang of tacklers. >> Wow. A ball came out again. >> Clockers say they have it. The refs agree. Another turnover by the Ashlin defense. >> Equaling their total from last week just here in the first half. >> Just trying to do a little too much to get that extra yard. >> He was going to be short by about a yard. >> Kept fighting. [screaming] [cheering] And this time it's number six Malachi Lambert coming up with the loose ball >> 106. So uh clockers have had a few instances where they've >> had to put this uh two minute one minute offense into play. >> Mhm. >> No, I mean look it's a great opportunity
057to to test it out, you know, take it for a run >> as we approach playoff season. >> 40 yardd line. I mean, realistically, if they get down to the 20, Aaron Wolf has the leg to kick a 37 yard field goal. >> Okay, lone set back here. It's Lambert in motion now. So, >> five wide outs. There's a quick screen to Ozal Lumba on the far side. He's got some blockers. He's through and he's gone. Touchdown Kevin Ozalooma. >> What's this about a field goal? [laughter] >> Was that one play? Was that a oneplay drive? It was a oneplay drive. >> 40 yards. >> How many yards you say that was? >> 40. >> Lot of yards after the catch. Perfect throw. Perfect execution. Kick is up and good. So, make it 27 to
058nothing. >> It's all clockers here tonight on Halloween Eve. >> Or as we used to say back in Philly, mischief night. >> Oh, interesting. I think what did we call it? [laughter] >> We called it Oh, my brother might know. >> Well, while you're thinking about that, row, I want you give you the opportunity to compliment the long snapper on a successful snap and an extra point. >> I'm focused right now. >> Got to call it. You know, you got to call it both ways, buddy. >> I said he had a great season. [laughter] >> I wouldn't have known that last one was a bad snap if you didn't describe it. So, >> I love how you try to turn things on me. Like, it was low. It rolled around the ground. >> Man, I'm
059starting to wonder if you're going to let me come back here for the Thanksgiving game. Another squib kick. Oh, big bounce and a healthy bounce though. >> Fielded cleanly by the return man. Met by the clockers again right around the 35. So they are living comfortably in Switzerland on each of these kickoff returns. >> Cory, >> I'm seeing a lot of love for Kevin Oolumba on the chat here tonight. Rob, >> how can you not? [laughter] first. >> So, was that >> was that Atheran's first pass attempt of the first half on that the screen pass to Ozima. >> Have to think about that. I believe it was. >> Okay, here's the snap for Norwood. >> Just run it right up the middle. >> Picked up a few yards and then dropped. >> Five yards,
06037 seconds. What do you think? They run another play here or just let it run out? >> They will be content to let it run out >> unless they call a timeout. >> It's all strategy. >> Their final timeout of the first half for Norwood. >> That's interesting. >> I mean, you can't, you know, you can't roll them over. Can't take them with you. Might as well use them, right? [laughter] run by the Clocker Club. Help support athletics by >> So, while we have this time out, a quick shout out to the Clocker Club, the official booster club of Ashlin High School Sports. What does it uh get if you purchase one? >> That's a great question, Rob. >> We can >> First of all, you become a card carrying member. >> Okay. >> You know, there are multiple levels to your membership. Do they have lounges at the airport with that or >> you're thinking of priority club? >> Okay, [laughter] >> here's the snap. Roach drop back to pass for a moment. Now he's looking to run and he is brought down short of
062the first down marker. >> So final 20 seconds off here >> preventing the first down. >> 15 13. >> Yeah, they're going to try to run another play here. >> Go. Yeah, >> maybe a Hail Mary. >> 54. >> Looks like Mermaline's dropping way back to play center field for the clock. >> They get the play off. This is the final play. Barring a defensive penalty. >> Looking looking. He fires across the middle and intercepted. It was deflected off a wide receiver. >> Tugar Rosi with another interception. His third or fourth on the season. And that's [music] the third clocker turnover, fourth turnover by the Ashlin defense. and they're going to they're going to rush right off to the locker room at halftime here. I'm Josh Abrams, joined as always by Rob Silver. Good to have you with us here. A rare Thursday night
065football game here on WACA. If you missed the first half, you missed a good one if you're a Clocker fan. They're up 27 to nothing, dominating on both sides of the ball, highlighted by three touchdown runs by Ben Athetherton and then a complimentary Kevin Ozumba pass and catch and run to make it 27 nothing. So Rob, what are your highlights from the first half? >> You just uh picked >> I Yeah, [laughter] but it it was the three turnovers. They had the uh >> was it three fumbles? Oh, two two fumbles and a late interception >> and just a very efficient offense. Like we said, they threw one pass and it was a touchdown >> and they're able to control the game on the ground and that's what they do and there's been no answer
066by the Norwood Mustang defense. >> Okay, so Norwood hoping for a change of fortunes here in the second half. They will receive to start the half as Aaron Wolf heads back ready to kick off. we can get the second half underway here in Ashland. Another line drive kick fielded cleanly at the 30. >> Crosses the border Switzerland to uh [laughter] what's around there? Hungary, Poland. >> You're going to break into like a Mel Brooks musical number here. >> Peter Goss was in the does musicals if we do ever break out. Okay, so probably best return of the night for Norwood. They're going to start at their own 44 yd line, first and 10, but again down 27 to nothing. >> And you can see the driving range on on the uh camera there going from
067our right to left. So in favor of Norwood on this possession as they look to get something going. >> Okay, Roach looking quick pass dropped. Same receiver there. number two wasn't able to come up with a with a long pass attempt back in the first half for Norwood. >> Yeah. And Malachi Lambert right there. Even if he did catch it, >> it wasn't going to go far. >> Nope. But Roach Roach has had a decent uh game at quarterback. Lot of ground yards on the ground. He's had a couple turnovers unfortunately as he's fought for some extra yards. The last one really hurt because the fumble with just about a minute left and one play clocker scored. >> Again, these game conditions not helping him at all. I mean, he's certainly getting some yards on
068the run, but the slippery ball has been proven tough for him to hold on to. And there's >> Oh, what a great play. Patrick St. Peter >> broke through one of the few times tonight that the clock is going to be able to drop Roach for a loss. >> Yeah, that's one of the things we haven't seen tonight is the clockers really getting into the backfield. Not that it's not that they, >> right? >> So maybe that's the game plan. Just kind of hold your ground and don't over pursue. Let's cover. >> Okay. So third and 11 here for Norwood. You figure they've got a pass here, Rob. And by the way, sports fans, those you were joining us there in the first half, you heard uh the promo for tonight's dad joke. We'll have
069that for you coming up early here in the second half. I'm as excited as anybody. >> I wish you could see Rob right now. He is giddy with anticipation. Third and 11 for Norwood. Roach in shotgun. Play action. Rolling fires a screen pass that is going to go negative yards. >> Alfred Nato. >> Reading that one the whole way. >> So Clocker's all about forcing turnovers in the first half and all about forcing >> negative yards in the second half. just good awareness of knowing what Norwood was going to have to do >> and just cutting off options. >> There's a a good booming punt here. It's going to go deep in Ashlin territory. It's rolling down and >> Into the end zone. So touchback here for the Clockers. Their first drive of the second
070half. They're up 27 nothing with 10:15 to go in the third quarter. >> yd kick net >> 38. >> So Rob, you know, we try to uh we try to, you know, apply themes for our dad jokes. Try to be educational, but definitely all about sports. Tonight, I think we're going to go sports. >> Okay. So, what did the wide receiver say to the football? >> Now, am I supposed to actually try and >> Yes, that's part of the fun. >> I don't know. What did he say? >> Catch you later. >> [laughter] >> Oh, Rob. >> Yes. Yes. >> First down for the clockers. Athen under center. >> A little bit of >> Yeah, I think they thought somebody flinched. >> Okay. >> Must have been on the defense because they can flinch. >>
071Okay. Gung formation. Ozumba and Lambert flanking. >> I mean, it looks like nothing, but it's five and a half almost six yards. Yeah, it was a limba with the carry. >> So hopefully coach McKay taking pity on on his players, on the opposition, on the fans. Just going to keep running the ball, keep that clock going. An early night here in Ashland. >> One more touchdown. It goes to running time. >> Is that right? >> Yes. Okay, we're seeing the gunk formation again. Atherdan, >> did he pitch to >> Malachi? >> So, Clockers picking up right where they left off on offense in the first half. Rob just methodically grinding it out on the ground game. have to say it's quite the turnout by the Ashland uh fans despite the weather and they're sticking around.
072>> Mhm. Absolutely. Well, look, I mean it it's been a great season for the Clockers. It is senior night, so paying tribute to the seniors before the game and those festivities. >> Oh, Zumba to the left. >> Oh, he breaks out of the block. >> A tackle, excuse me. He finally brought down just short of the Norwood 40. He is a strong individual. >> Oh, we've got a pink flag on the field here. >> Okay. No flag on the play. was not a flag. It was >> somebody's towel >> like, "Oh, when did the rest start throwing pink flags?" >> They actually do have some I I have seen. >> Yeah, they think pink sometimes or dig pink. >> For breast breast cancer awareness, they >> will do that on occasion. >> Those of you
073keeping score at home, you can attribute that last run and all those yards to Kevin Oly's ever increasing totals. >> Gunk formation here for the clockers. >> Number eight, Don Palanszi into the game. Notice that >> give is to Lambert breaks through [music] and crosses into the crosses over the 30 for another clocker first down. >> I mean, he gets ahead of steam and you make contact five yards down the field and he's going to get another seven. >> Yeah, I feel like Ozumba gets all the headlines. I mean, you all the flashy runs and all the touchdowns or anything, but Lambert is a high quality running back in his own right. >> No doubt. And that's why you uh alluded to the thunder and lightning reference last week. >> That's right. >> Salt and
074pepper. [laughter] >> Oil and vinegar. Oh, the oil rig. >> The oil rig. That's right. We can talk about that. The next stoppage. Gunk formation again for the clockers. First and 10. >> Palansi on the carry. >> He's got some blocks. was loose. >> There's only one clocker. >> Alfred Nato able to fall on the ball. >> Definitely did not have numbers there in the secondary, but it was a clocker who came up with that one, saving >> what could have been a disastrous play. So, clocker first down and >> I mean, you can fumble forward, but that is where the ball's getting spotted. >> Yeah, an extra five yards. So inside the red zone >> with 712 and counting to go in the third quarter. >> You know, as bad as those things are
075for your team, it it it is kind of positive because you you know, great job by uh Alfred Nato to be aware and continue with the play and fall on that. >> He part of the good hands team. >> That's two weeks in a row you've worked at in there. [laughter] I'm kind of thinking you get the >> the company's not a sponsor, so I can't mention them by name, but beginning to wonder. [laughter] He cut a side deal. Ezra Hatchet >> headed for the corner. >> Hatchet. He's got it and in. Knocks over the pylon. Wait a minute. >> They're going to say he didn't get in there. [laughter] >> A goal line saving tackle. >> Thought he had it. Yeah, just a little too much sideways momentum. They were able to get one
076hand and drag him out. Ezra Hatchet, just a sophomore, but up and coming and a name you will be hearing from for the next couple years for sure. >> And again, Chris, great football name. I can't can't wait to keep calling his name out the next couple of years. So, first and goal here for the Clockers. >> Do they go four touchdowns for And they do. >> There goes Athetherton on a keeper. >> Touchdown number four for Ben Athetherton. >> There it goes. So Ozala had four last week. Atheran with his fourth tonight. [laughter] >> Oh. >> All our fans that wanted to >> That's all right. >> Behind the scenes. >> Yeah. This is what we're dealing with. >> Yeah. Thank you. >> Thank you. Wolf. >> All of a sudden we're down to
077zero viewers. Good [laughter] job. And Wolf nails the extra point. >> Great job by on the snap by Adam >> Wetski. Good hold by Ben Athetherton. >> Can we get a fifth? Ben for five. Isn't that a band? Ben Folds five. Yes. >> Right. Let's see if he can fold a fifth into the end zone. That would be impressive. >> Yeah. I'm always impressed by your musical references, Rob. Just >> you cross generations. cross genres. It's just I'm I'm not kidding. It's impressive. >> It stops around uh early 90s. >> Fair enough. >> Okay, so Clockers now up 34 to nothing. 614 to go in the third quarter. And Aaron Wolf kicking off but into the wind. And I believe this will be the start of the running time. >> Fielded cleanly. Number two. He's
078had a decent night. Called his name a few number a few times. >> And his best return of the night as he gets all the way into Ashlin territory. >> So opposite Switzerland. [laughter] >> Yeah. I don't know what we're going to beat the ground. >> Well, >> you Switzerland is the neutral start. I don't know what positive territory is and negative territory. Western Hemisphere equivalent of Switzerland. >> That's cuz you know it's the opposite side of the 50. You know where I'm going here, right? >> Oh, I see. Well, I just I We'll have to work on that. >> So, they are on the 45 yd line. Best starting position, field starting position. Handoff slips ahead. Literally slips ahead for four yards. So again, just very quickly, our congratulations to the girls volleyball team.
079Won their opening round playoff game earlier this afternoon right here at the high school over Hollist. Three sets to two. Uh they await the identity, time, and location of their next opponent. >> And uh while you're handing out congratulations, you're uh the men's soccer team. >> Absolutely. >> Boy soccer team Tri Valley League champions. Yeah, we had that their final their season finale here on WACA Tuesday night available on demand on the YouTube channel. >> Yeah. >> And they get to listen to you and was it Peter Clay on the call? >> Yes. Yes. Peter Clay making his season debut on the WACA mic. And uh we had a real barn burner. Wanda, I know it's going to sound crazy. It was a nil nil game. >> No, I agree. For for a 000 game,
080it was very very exciting. And even though it was a tie, the Clocker still clinched and won the TBL championship for the first time in many, many years. >> But back Go ahead. >> They they'll get a home playoff. >> Oh, absolutely. Yeah. >> So, yeah, they ended the season ranked number nine in division two. >> Back to the action at hand. Norwood with a >> second and short. Low snap, but fielded cleanly by Roach. hands it off to his running back who plows ahead for many yards and a first >> down. >> So elsewhere in Clocker Nation, girls soccer finished their regular season 6 and 12. They're ranked number 35 in division 2. So they're going to come up a little bit short for making the playoffs. Girls field hockey finished the regular season
081610 and two, number 23 in the final division 2 rankings, but they lost their opening round playoff game to Westwood yesterday 3-0. Meanwhile, here on the football field, Norwood on a first and 10. A quick pitch and run and bullying ahead for handful more yards. >> So, call it seven yards. Second and three. >> Clockers able to rest some of their starters here as the score. >> Currently 34 nothing with 351 to go. >> Okay, the chat is calling for a pick six, but I don't see uh Norwood throwing the ball right now. into the clear >> down. Yeah, maybe the sixyd line, I think. >> Okay, well into the red zone here. First and goal now for Norwood. But again, they're staring up at a 34 nothing deficit with 335 to go in the
082game. And clock continues to run. >> Six. Yeah, sixyd line. So, Roach in shotgun, lone set back, keeps it himself, following his blockers, headed for the end zone, meets the pile, gets pushed backwards, falling short of the goal line. Under three minutes to go now in the third quarter. pushed forward but he will be shortack >> have at least one two shut outs this year they shut out well and I know they shut out dead on 42 nothing. >> Hand off. >> Oh, he got met right at the line. Didn't make it. >> Great job, Tenacious D. >> You're crushing the music references tonight. >> So, uh, two yard line two three yd line. >> Okay, Nick Boomer leading the charge on that last stoppage. >> Lot of pride by this clocker defense. They really
083want to keep the zero on the board. >> Mhm. >> Roach keeps it through. Quick throw and finally gets the touchdown. So a nice play, a nice nice pass. >> Good execution able to break the plane. >> So make it 34 to six now pending the extra point. Did you go for two here? I don't think they're going to, but why wouldn't you? >> Why wouldn't you? >> Cuz you know, >> they're lighting up for the extra point. >> I think they're rethinking it is what they're doing. I >> Yeah, might have an injury. So, in order to avoid the announcer, Jinx, Rob, I've been holding on to this for a while, but the clockers defense ended up pitching a shut out for four consecutive quarters. The second half, last week's game and the first
084half of this week's. So, very impressive performance. Again, the defense is absolutely holding its own in the last few games for the clockers. And that extra point clanks off the upright and no good. is no good. >> So, hindsight 2020, perhaps they should have gone for two there, Rob. >> Absolutely. You go for two. There's no upside unless the guy's breaking a school record or something with the extra point. Just go for two. >> I don't know, Rob. There's no I in team. >> This is the part where you say, "But there is an ME." >> Well, [laughter] I don't have to say it. So, as we wait the uh the impending kickoff by Norway, I just want to take a moment to thank tonight's sponsors. Techniplex Healthcare of Ashlin Townhouse Pizza and Roast Beef,
085Mr. Handyman of Central Metro West, 126 Self Storage, and Sub-Zero Nitrogen Ice Cream right there in Ashlin Center. Appreciate uh their support here, helping to bring all the sights and sounds of tonight's Ashlin Norwood football game to all of you live here on WACA and YouTube. So Norwood preparing to kick off here wind >> on side. You think >> they should >> they booted away. They didn't go for the extra point. They're not going to go for the onside. Kick it out of bounds. >> Out of bounds. >> It's going to be They start at the 35 with the 40. And Rob, I would say when it rains it pours, but >> getting plenty of rain here today. just on the border. 35 [laughter] >> and we're back to Switzerland. >> So, let's see if
086uh I'm assuming maybe Owen Wolfram into the game at quarterback. I think he he I think he was banged up on the last play. Braden me. Yeah, Braden me. >> Okay. And Pansy's out there as well. >> He's the one who has the ball going around. >> He keeps it. >> I was deceived. Great play there as me holds on to it. >> 15 yds and a first down as it gets to midfield. >> Yeah. 50 yardd line. Talk about neutral territory. >> [laughter] >> Clock continues to run as we approach one minute to go here in the third quarter. Again, clockers up 34 to6. >> Braden me also the uh player to recover the first turnover of the game. >> Okay, clockers break the huddle. Head for the line. Looks like our old friend,
087the gunk formation. >> Yeah, just 40 seconds to go in this quarter. >> Hatchet flanking me here in that formation. >> No hurry as they look to make this maybe the last play of the quarter. Me under center keeps it himself. The group me group pushes ahead >> to get me very close to a first down. >> Very innocent looking carry turns into nine yardds and that will run out the quarter. >> So three quarters in the books. It's 346 all Ashland clockers here on senior night at William Cunis Field. Ashland High School. Rob Silver and Josh Abrams. We're gonna take a quick break, get a run from a word from our sponsor. What do you think, Jeff? That's the plan. We'll be back in a moment. >> Techniplex Healthcare leverages its worldclass material science
088knowledge to deliver better patient outcomes by designing and manufacturing products that allow for less invasive procedures, reduce pain, enable faster healing, and safer drug delivery. of Ashlin Norwood football here on Thursday night. Clockers up 346 as we begin the fourth quarter. They'll start with the ball at the Norwood 40 or 41. >> Gunk formation again. Me keeps it, >> has a couple blocks, and just pushing his way forward till he's violently tackled, but not before gaining another first down. >> Seveny. >> So spotting the ball at the Norwood >> 34 >> with a win tonight. This does clinch officially clinch a TVL large title for the Ashland Clockers. >> Okay. Yeah, they ran the table. Hollist, Westwood, Norwood. And then they have Hopington on Thanksgiving, which is non-event at this point other than a lot
089of pride. Okay, first and 10 for the Clockers. Meet under center gives it to Hatchet. Hatchet fighting for ground. Still on his feet before being driven backwards as we tick down under 11 minutes to go in the game. Clockers up 34 to6. >> So again with the win tonight, Clockers will improve to 7-1. >> Currently ranked number seven. Number seven in the MIAA Division 4 power rankings. >> Yeah. So that would give them a home playoff game. At least one. >> I'd like to see them, you know, move up move up a little bit if possible. Top 16 teams make the playoffs in division four for football. >> Yeah. And I just don't want them to have to face Hollist. [laughter] >> See somebody new. >> Okay, first and second and seven, excuse me. Second
090and seven here for the clockers. Meet under center. Pitch is to Valonzi I think just going to run right behind all those blockers pick up positive yards >> third and a couple >> down. >> Okay. At the very least, Rob, have we reached Aaron Wolf territory? >> I kind of I think they have, but they would never try it. I mean, does he live on the border of Switzerland? >> He can kick it 40 yards with the wind. [laughter] 42 yards. Where are we now? 26 yd line. >> So it's 43 44 really. I >> think I see Adam Warn lined up in the back field here. Me keeps it himself pushing ahead. Let's see where they going to spot this one. >> Yep. >> First down. will be enough for another. >> So, I'm
091looking on the chat and Labber James very passionately begging for Kevin to get put back into this game, but I I have a feeling we've seen the last of him for tonight, my friend. I'd like to see Athetherton back in for the [laughter] fifth touchdown >> if they if they could. >> Okay. Meet under center. >> Very patient just milking the clock. >> Mhm. >> Pitches to Hatchet going around the far side looking for a hole. He catches the corner. He's heading in and he is gone. Touchdown Hatchet. clocker. Score again. >> He's gonna be a force. >> I think he needs to uh get into the weight room, put on a little bit more. He reminds me of Kevin Ozumba as a sophomore. >> Ozumba was quick, he was strong, but each year he
092gained uh you know more muscle and just became more powerful. definitely has good vision. >> So Aaron Wolf in here to attempt yet another extra point. >> Pick is up and good. Great snap. Great hold by Aleton. >> So make it 41 to6 clockers with 740 and counting left in the game. So, as we await the ensuing kickoff, just want to say uh thanks again to our crew tonight. That's uh Jeff Hall, Brady Monosino, and Paul Bowden. Appreciate all their efforts. Again, uh setting up all this stuff hours beforehand. Happy to take it all back down again on a tough weather night like this. Appreciate the effort even more. And also want to throw it out here to you, our viewing community. If you're interested in joining the WACA team, whether it's announcing games like
093Rob and me or learning how to produce, run a camera, there's a lot of opportunities here. We even provide on the job training. So, if you're interested, >> head on over to wacatv.com and drop us a line. >> Okay, Wolf getting ready to kick off from his own 40. Okay, ground ball kick. Charid will hop. Norwood will start again with good field position. >> Just short of the 45. >> The rain's really picking up now. Six minutes to go. >> Clock is running, so it will be an actual six minutes. Set your timer. >> So if I Rob, if I say to you, the fog is getting thicker. >> How would you reply to that? >> Leo's getting larger. >> Leon is getting larger. Very good. >> Name that movie. Don't you do it like
094on the right on the chat. on the chat >> if you can if you recognize >> if you recognize those lines. Name the movie that's from. We'll have more later. >> Right. >> Norwood surges ahead for a first down. Yeah. >> Number 19. >> You know, I don't know if the camera got a shot of that, but the whole pile pushed into Kevin Oumbo who's standing innocently on the sidelines. >> The ball just finds him, doesn't it? Well, you don't want to get rolled up while you're watching the game innocently on the sidelines. >> This one's This going to be a costly penalty. This is big- time yards as Norwood marches deeper into Ashlin territory. Ball's going to be spotted at the Ashland 34. >> When your uh limo comes to pick you up, do
095you mind if I uh jump in with you, Josh? just so I don't have to walk down in the driving range. >> Uh, I mean, I'm cool with it, but understand that that limo is going straight to Foxwoods after the game. >> Okay, I can't [laughter] do it. >> So, Roach in the shotgun looking to pass, looking left, fires that way. Complete short of a first down. >> Yeah. number 16 not on the roster. >> So, looks like a little less rain, a little less wind and a lot more rain right now, Rob, as we're down approaching four minutes to go in the game. Again, clockers up 41 to6 here on senior night. Certainly no let down tonight from the clockers. You know, it's funny. We were so worried last week that a potential trap
096game of coming off such a big win off Hollist, but uh no fears here. They came out strong and and really never let up on the gas tonight. >> Yeah, like we say, might have almost been a good thing that they had that bad first half. >> A lot of hugs on the sidelines between the players. Didn't need a trademark fiery halftime speech from coach McKay. >> No. >> Roach and shotgun. Wide out split out. >> Little movement there. No call. Pitches to number three. He carries down the left side before he stops short of a first down. So that'll bring up third down as we're now under three minutes to go. >> So in case we run out of time here at the end of the game, want to be sure to wish all
097of you viewing, whether you're live on on YouTube or catching us on demand, a happy Halloween from all of us here at WACA. >> Had the weather not been so bad, I was contemplating wearing a costume. This is not a costume, by the way. This is how I always look. >> Were you going to wear a Cowboys jersey? >> No. >> That would have been going I would have got a good Halloween good scary Halloween costume. >> I was going to wear a car cartoon character. Okay. >> I'm giving you a hint. I don't know if you want to take any guesses. Uh >> I need something more than cartoon character. >> Cartoon character. Uh >> a bear of some type. >> Oh, okay. The first bear that comes to mind is one that's part
098of the Hannah Barbara family. So I I guess it was a good clue because that wasn't the answer. I didn't want to make it obvious. [laughter] So >> um >> cartoon bear and it's not Yoki, huh? >> No. >> How about that? >> Not Boo Boo. >> No, >> his friend Tigger. >> Oh, Tigger. Tigger. >> No. Well, that's his friend. >> Oh, Tiger. >> Tiger was a >> Tiger's a tiger. Of course. >> Not sure you're getting it. >> No. [sighs] >> Winnie the I got I got where it was coming from. I can't come with a character any got Eeyore in my head. We just won. >> Clearly, thank you. Yeah, that's a little insulting. A fumble. >> Pick right up. >> Ro able to pick it back up. >> Good job picking
099it up and not putting a knee down. >> Keep the play alive. 127 to go. >> Yeah, Winnie the Pooh. >> Interesting. Oh, you're So, it is actually Winnie. I was trying to think of like another bear other than Winnie the Pooh. Okay. >> I have one other costume that I've worn on occasion. It was a cartoon character from an 80s sitcom. That kind of >> human or animal? >> Neither. >> Oh, neither. Space. I think space. Uh Roach with a snap gun to carry it himself. Heading for the far sideline. Cuts it back now. Straight on through. Got his blocks and in for the touchdown. So with 51 seconds to go, Norwood scores its second touchdown of the night. They might not even have time to get the extra point off. We'll see how
100quickly they get in there. They did get in there quick. >> So, the other costume, the other answer was elf. >> Do you remember elf? >> Yes. I I was think when I said animal or human, I was thinking elf as an animal, but Okay. >> Okay. He was an alien life form. >> Yes, that's what elf stood for. >> Yes. >> What did he like to eat? >> He did like cats. >> Yep. Sure did. >> Lucky. >> Extra point is good. So, make it 4113. And that's going to pretty much be the final. >> It's not going to be any time as the two squads join it center field the 50 yd line to shake hands and and it's >> Go ahead. >> No, it's going to be a final here. 4113. >>
101Okay. And of course, just to quickly wrap up one loose end, Rob, the movie we were quoting earlier was Airplane. >> Airplane. 80s classic Airplane. >> Yeah. Looks like a picked the wrong week to uh quit bringing an umbrella with me. [laughter] >> Good good recovery. >> So, um yeah, 41 to 13 >> behind >> just a whole team effort, but between the turnovers, four touchdowns by Ben Athetherton. I'm going to move a little this way because I can feel the rain coming straight down [laughter] through the roof. Uh who else we had scoring tonight? We had Kevin Ozumba. We had Ezra Hatchet. >> I think that that's six. Yeah. 6 * 7 minus one extra point 41 the 13. >> That was a lot of math. Thanks, Rob. >> That's what I do. That's
102what I do. It's educational as well as uh entertaining. >> So again, three turnovers in the first half forced by the Ashlin defense. I don't think they they don't think they force any turnovers in the second half. I mean, we had so much running time there wasn't really time for it. But again, you know, they forced three turnovers last week, three turnovers this week, pitching a shut out the second half of last week, the first half of this week. So again, both sides of the ball, Ashton really doing a great job. Really dominating on both sides. >> Yeah. So comes down to this silver medal. I think this is the first silver medal of the uh year for Ben Athetherton. >> Absolutely. Congratulations, Ben. I'm in full agreement with that award. >> And uh Brady,
103Brady, come on over here. This This is the guy This is the guy that gives you all the uh the good camera work. Brady. So, uh, Jeff, you want to get in the picture there? >> There's our hilarious executive producer Jeff Hall. >> So, that, uh, that's about a wrap. That does it. >> Okay. So, congratulations to the Clockers. They improved to 7 and one. They win the TVL large championship. Next game, you've got some time on this one. Thanksgiving morning, 10:00 a.m. right here on WACA. Rob and I will have the call. We expect you to join us for that one. >> We might have playoff coverage. >> Oh, of course. There could be some playoffs in between. Of course, >> we have to work it out with the MIA to get permission for
104coverage and stuff like that, but we will try to do that. So, >> okay. So, for Jeff Hall, Brady Monosto, my good friend Rob Silver, I'm Josh Abrams saying good night and go clockers. I thought I was going to say that. >> Okay, good night everybody. >> 126 Self Storage is located at 162 Pond Street and is owned by Ashlin native Michael Kaine.
