All right, we'll bring this meeting of the Freeman School Board to order. First item on the agenda is the pledge of allegiance. I pledge algiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> You're gonna do the roll call. All right. >> Yes, David. Yep. >> Katie. >> Yep. Chris. >> Yes. >> Cody. >> Right. Next on the agenda, we'll need an motion to approve the agenda. Do I have a motion? >> Oh, I think Cody. Yeah, >> I have a second. >> Second by David. All in favor say I. >> Oppose. Same sign. Motion carries. Conflict of interest disclosures. I receive none. Public input. None. Unfinished business. None. New business. The A little discussion

about bids that were submitted for phase one of the stadium project. So yesterday we did two pack the first two packages of the uh Freeman Stadium project that you guys have been working towards for a while. Um the two packages were demolition which includes the demolition of the existing grand stand down to the uh slab upgrade. So slab on grain foundations will stay in place um utilizing that that uh ground for the track season for food vendors for fans things of that nature. And then the second bid package was for the bleachers and the press box pre-manufactured press box. Um wanted to get these two packages out early. Um one for the demolition so that we can start that now before track season. Um kind of anticipated the ground would be frozen when we're doing

this work. So, um a little surprised it's not at this point, but maybe we'll get another cold stretch. Um so, the first bid package is that demolition and then the second bid package bleachers and press box wanted to get that out early as well. Um with there being uh lengthy lead times associated with those pieces. So, um bid results from yesterday. We're very pleased with what we saw. Um especially on the demolition side having seven biders there. Um numbers came in great. We thought um low bidder there is mate excavating at $16,000 for his base bid. Um alternate number one is a performance bond deduct which we recommended that we take too. Um which would take his bid down to 15,000. Essentially, we, you know, will bond the entire project, uh, Pittsville, but we like

to include this in everything that we bid, um, just as a secondary, you know, insurance for you guys. If there's a contractor that, you know, is struggling recently or, um, somebody we're not familiar with, we may require recommend that you take that on. But we have no concerns here. So, um mate is the apparent low bidder. So if you take that bond that alternate number one bond deduct that will be $15,000 which was about half of what our estimate of probable cost was for the demolition. So great value there in that package. And then bid package two bleachers and press box. We had one bidder um safe and this is the company that we've been working with through the entire design phase. So they've provided a lot of insight and spent quite a bit of

time in meetings and actually met up with us or met up with JLG and Sou Falls at their office. So they've been involved this entire time. Um it's a very specialized um package with it being bleachers and then the pre-manufactured press box. Don't see a lot of biders typically with this. Um but we're glad that these guys bid. Um and they were right there where they where they said they would be. So little bit higher than our estimate of probable cost, but the scope did increase since that point. So, overall very pleased with the numbers we did receive on both packages. >> Excellent. Any questions from the board? Comments? >> I just am curious why we got one that's like 90. >> Yeah, I know. I was curious about that, too. It seems like a

wide out trucking and excavating. hadn't been on our biders list previously. So I don't he may have just saw this a little different guys and you know maybe he doesn't have the resources that some of these other guys have as well. So >> sounds good. >> Any other comments? Everybody feel comfortable moving forward um with the two recommended uh low bids? Great. Again, quite approved this morning. All right, there's no more uh questions or comments. We'll require a motion to approve the um two selected bids here uh for the completion of phase one of the stadium project. Do I have a motion? >> Motion by Katie. Do I have a second? >> Second by Cody. All in favor say I. >> Oppose. Same sign. Motion carries. Next item on the agenda is adjournment. will require

a motion to adjourn the special board meeting of education meeting February 18th, 2026 at 7:06 p.m. Do I have a motion? >> Motion by David. Do I have a second? >> Second by Chris. All in favor say I. >> Oppose. Same sign. Motion carries. Next board meeting, Monday, March 9th, 7 p.m. Thank you.
