001Is anyone gonna be on this or no? >> Okay. Testing, testing. Peter, can you hear me? >> I can hear you. >> All right. Good afternoon, good evening, everyone. excited to be uh broadcasting today's Ashlin versus Medfield boys soccer game. Um probably starting about 16 minutes. The JV game just completed. Medfield uh won that game 3 to2 on a last minute last 30 second goal. So uh this game is going to be a little bit delayed. We're going to be I think on for most of the uh pregame talk. So, um, I am Brian Site and I am joined by the one and only legendary Mr. Peter Clay. Peter, welcome. Thank you for, uh, joining me today. I'm excited to have someone that actually knows something about soccer. >> A little bit. >> Yep. So,

002um, >> thanks for the heads up and getting out here. Gave me plenty of time to prepare and plan for this. So, >> listen, it's all we need is a couple minutes. It's kind of like our fantasy. We just need a minute or two to select our teams and >> and we're ready to go. So, uh, >> that's how I roll. >> That's right. So, it's a beautiful day here in Ashlin, 75 degrees. Um, probably get into some of the the stats a little bit later, but for those that are listening, this is a pretty exciting game over here. We have the 4-2 Medfield against the 40 and2 Ashlin. So either someone's going to win their fifth game, Medfield's hoping to give Ashlin their first loss or we might get a a third tie from

003Ashlin and maybe the first tie from Medfield. So we'll see. But both these teams are probably top ranks in their divisions. Um first time they're playing with playing against each other. They'll play each other twice this year. Uh one more time in October. But um yeah, gorgeous day, exciting day. We have uh should have a lot of fans over here. Everyone's kind of creeping in. Got some uh school night going on at the middle school. So, a lot of activity. Peter and I were just kind of joking around since most our our kids are kind of older. There's a lot of activity going on right now at the middle school. >> This place is hopping. It's crazy. >> Yeah. You got the uh kids just finished over there for youth soccer. And now we got

004a bunch of field. What's that? Flag football going on down there. Tons of kids. Crazy. >> Football and soccer or soccer and football. But uh >> And that equals what? No parking. >> No parking. Exactly. You got you told me you got lucky. >> I got a good spot. I'm not going to lie. >> You got a good spot. So, >> I hit it just right. >> It's all about timing. Um, >> no, but excited over here. I I I was lucky enough to call my first football game with Rob Silver on Friday night. That was a intense game, overtime game. >> Yeah, that's right. >> I kind of learned um you're not supposed to ask a question you don't know. And neither one of us really knew a lot about overtime rules. They changed

005the overtime rules a little bit. So, >> okay. It's basically you get four shots on the 10 yardd line and um we stopped uh who did we play again? Bellingham. >> Yeah, it was Bellingham. >> Yep. Got an interception and then we scored on the third or fourth play. So uh >> that's pretty impressive. >> Yeah, it was fun. It was our running back, star running back Kevin just what what he can do on the uh in the back field and reading holes and all that exciting stuff. You know, as a Bear fan, Bears have no running. So >> Oh, no. Don't even It's We've been online. We've been on on here for what five minutes and you've already dropped the Bears. >> You know, you know it's gonna happen. So, >> nobody is gonna

006care. That's what's gonna happen. >> Um, so, so again, so I'm lucky enough, you know, I've had the opportunity to coach a lot of youth soccer, both boys and girls. Um, but I didn't play in I stopped playing in in middle school and just enjoyed the coaching. So, Peter though is a little different. Peter, give a little bit about background. I think you played in >> high school, college, too. >> I did. I did. I had uh I was fortunate enough to play I grew up on the Southshore. I grew up played down Hanover and then um I was a walk-on at Roger Williams. I played there for three years. So that's what I did. It was fun. Had a lot of fun. Um >> learned a lot about the game. Played with a lot

007of great players, a lot of fun players, a lot of good times. And uh the game has definitely changed over the years. I'll tell you that. This is u this is a tight game. Everything is short game triangles like we tried to do that when I was growing up and it just was taking a while but this European play has really taken over and it's uh the coaches have done a great job at all the levels trying to get these guys to and the girls because the girls game is exactly the same. So >> um the guys and the girls to play really tight game right a lot of foot um control is huge and um you know just having good field awareness is going to be a big part of this. So So, three

008years in college. What position? >> I played attack. >> You were attacker. Okay. >> Y >> got it. >> Um in high school, too. >> In high school as well. >> You were attack >> all the way through. Yeah. Never was a midfielder. >> Not a good defender. >> And uh No, I didn't want to play goalie. So, didn't want to play goalie. >> That's all right. Righty, I'm assuming. >> I am a righty. I am a righty. And uh yeah, you it was just a lot of fun playing growing up. It was it was a different time. It was a long time ago. >> I jokingly say this uh to some of the guys in my office. I've got a one of the guys was a captain at Roger Williams and he graduated in

0092011. So he's a kid to me and us. And uh and it was just funny like just I always joke about I would never have made the team now. like these like I would never make the I don't think I'd make an Ashlin varsity team. The game was just different. It was just I mean we were good athletes. It was fun. We play good soccer, but this is just a different >> It's just different. So I guess I would have adapted. >> Yeah, exactly. And it's funny because soccer, you know, the game itself, you know, just visibly it's it's very it's the same, but you're just talking about just the athleticism, the strategy of the game, the speed of the game. >> Speed is >> is just it's different. >> Speed is there. We always

010had the speed, but the speed is just different in the touch. I I'll say this quite a bit. It's it's as it always has been, but it's even more now. Like, if you don't make a good first touch, you're going to get destroyed in this in this game. And um you'll lose control of the ball, somebody else will be on it so fast. And so, the room for error is so small nowadays. That's what I noticed the difference. >> Yep. >> Agree. At all levels, college, high school, >> obviously at the highest level. Yeah. So, we're also uh playing around with some It's It's really cool here with the uh with Waka. A lot of new equipment as well. So, uh I think we might have two cameras today and uh we're at this really

011cool setup. So, I've primarily when I've been able to broadcast, I've been at the high school. So, we're at the middle school over here and we have our own little mini unit over here. So, this is exciting. Got some new technology. >> Portable rolling >> thing. It's pretty sweet. I'm not going to lie. Even though we're not on center, we're kind of on the >> 35 yard line, it's actually fine. >> We're We're I think I jinxed us because I asked, "Has anyone ever got hit by a soccer ball where we are?" Because I mean, we're ball goes up even though it' have to be a a more like a ricochet, >> but that might happen to us today. So, we'll see. >> Yeah, we'll see. I could see that. We'll see. >> You know,

012an errant an errant, >> you know, clear could get us right in the noggin. >> But, uh, what do they say? I only have to be faster than you. >> That's right. That's right. I'm I'm ducking behind you. So, um >> So, it looks like we're starting about eight minutes or so. So, just uh again, we'll kind of go over some of the stats, you know, throughout because in case folks aren't listening, but uh Ashlin actually has a very senior team. So, there's about 14 seniors playing today for Ashlin. 11 juniors, one sophomore, no freshman. Medfield though is a little different. So they um they have nine seniors, three juniors, seven sophomores, and two freshman on the varsity team. So they have the youth that they've kind of brought in and built. It's pretty impressive.

013So >> based on their record, four and two, >> looks like they have a solid team, some good youth. >> Yeah, I think they came off a couple of good years and that's why they probably graduated a couple of big classes and that's typically what you see when you see that kind of disparity. Um you know, it is a small school system. Yep. you know, a small district, but uh and I think they are in the small, right? They're in the I believe I'm pretty sure they are because we're in the we just sneak in the large and I think they just sneak in the small, but um but they've always put out good athletic teams. Um usually all are very well coached, good youth programs all the way through and um you know, so

014it's it's always going to be a good game when you play midfield. >> It is. >> And I hope and I and I'm sure these guys are are ready for it for Ashlin's ready for this game. >> I'm sure they're pumped. You know, I was kind of checking the uh all the scores. So, right now, Ashlin for um volleyball and field hockey might have been another one. Um Metfield actually beat them this week. So, >> the boys are trying to get their first win of the 2025 season. >> Y >> with the game. Um football actually doesn't play Medfield this year. And uh golf actually is playing today. So, I don't know the what happened today about our golf team that's they're five and six. I still don't know how the scoring works in high

015school. >> No, me neither. >> But, uh they were playing medfield today at 3:45. If we end up getting the results, we'll definitely share that. Uh volleyball yesterday. Um Ashlin lost two out of three to Medfield. So, my understanding is Ashlin was up 200 and then Medfield just kind of came back won the last three sets. So, um >> Oh, in tennis. >> No, in volleyball. Oh, >> in volleyball. My bad. >> Yeah. So, u our girls volleyball record right now is 3 and three. Again, lost 203 sets last night. Their next game is Friday against uh Grafton. I mentioned golf ready. They're 5-6. Their next game is today against Medfield. Um want to check out of course uh Rebecca Kinsman who's one of our star senior athletes on our golf team. You know, I

016know her dad very well. I see Rebecca see her mom kind of like at some mutual parties and I always ask her about Rebecca's game and we'll probably talk about golf. My understanding is Rebecca has a really good short game like under 100 yards she is automatic for you and I in 100 yards it's >> not good. >> You know we start doing some praying or or something like that. Um and let's see what else. So field hockey. >> Look at you with all your homework. >> I'm not going to lie. I'm impressed. Like I thought you just called me on the whim and you're going to sneak in here. I actually did some homework >> just for the record out there folks. He uh did this when Brian site did a lot of homework

017and got prepped here. So >> the fact I can read my handwriting right now you can no one could read this. So field hockey girls field hockey um one and five. Unfortunately we lost to Medfield. >> Um got shut out 5 nothing >> today's Thursday yesterday. Their next game is at Bellingham on Friday. So if you are looking to go to a field hockey game definitely support the girls at on Friday. Football is 2 and 0. Um they do not play Medfield this year. Their next game is tomorrow night at in Wayland. Um that's a Friday night 7 pm next week. Um WACA is going to be broadcasting the football game. So not this Friday, the following Friday. >> Yeah. >> And as I mentioned with soccer right now, just to kind of repeat, so

018Ashland is I'm sorry, we are 40 and2. I think I wrote 40 and one. 40 and2. Um, last game they tied Westwood 2 to2. That was on Tuesday. So, they're coming off a tie game. Their next game is Saturday in Grafton at 12 uh noon. Medfield uh 4-2. So, again, we have 4-2 Medfield versus 40 and2 Ashlin. They just beat Medway 7 to1. So, they're coming off a pretty big win. Um, and then girls soccer. For some reason, they usually girls and boys will kind of play alternating. Um they're not playing midfield today, but they are one and four. Lost the last game um I think four nothing. Um they are actually playing Grafton as well on Saturday. So if you are in Grafton or want to see two good games, the boys varsity play

019Grafton on Saturday at noon. The girls play Grafton Saturday at 2:00. >> So that's kind of where we are with the Ashlin varsity scores. We might repeat some of that during the game, but >> yeah, as people show up a little late there to the the broadcast because I'm sure there's just thousands of people listening right now. So, it's >> and thousands or maybe hundreds. >> They'll stream it later. So, we'll be kind. Yeah, we got to be mindful of uh those that are watching it later. >> Of course, >> that we uh do the the best we can here like we always do. >> One thing I like about Ashlin, so Pete knows I have a dog, Pepper, who just turned eight the other day. That's right. >> Happy birthday. >> I know she

020got more gifts than we normally get. There are some dogs here in Ashland. So, at the middle school, middle school kind of can get away from it. High school definitely not. So, uh pooches are are kind of coming. It's a beautiful day. >> Yeah, they're not supposed to have their dogs here, but that's cool. >> That's okay. >> Doesn't bother me. >> As long as they don't go on the turf. >> Correct. >> Turf is uh can't can't get the pooches on the turf, but on the grass. >> Well, it's not good for them. >> It's not good for the paws. >> So, what do you think? We're gonna have two refs today. Three refs, I'm guessing. Looks like two refs. >> I see two right now. >> Like two. So, it's always funny like

021uh I'll broadcast some volleyball games and uh kind of joke around because for volleyball the uniforms of the refs are always different. >> Oh, really? >> It's and it's pants, shirts, and it could be blue, black, green, purple. Soccer is probably the only other sport where the refs can change it up a little bit. You know, basketball, football, it's usually the stripes. >> Yeah, it's the stripes. Zebra stripes. >> But, uh soccer, you'll see some different colors once in a while. Yellow, black is what we're having right now. Yep. >> That's the most common, but >> I've seen some pink once in a while, some purple. >> Really just shaking it up. >> Shaking it up a little bit. Change it up. >> So, captains are meeting right now. So, I know from the Ashlin

022side, and again, if I mispronounce any names, I apologize. We have Emanuel, number six, captain. >> Uh, I think it's uh Thiago Jacob number 17, Arthur Soua number seven, and Declan Vento. Those are four seniors. Those are our captains. Uh unfortunately for Medfield, I do not we do not know who the captains are. If we can figure that out, we'll definitely share that information. >> And then starting in eight is uh Surn Fenstra and starting a net for Ashland. >> And we do not know who's starting a net yet. We will announce it as soon as we can for midfield. Um they've got a couple of guys standing on the sidelines there. So we'll see which one comes out. >> It's either going to be looks like uh Sam Stevens, who's a senior, maybe Elliot

023Young, who is a junior. So >> yeah, I think it's gonna be Sam Stevens. I'm a bet. >> It says James. Sam, so I'm curious about that one. >> Yeah. >> You know, >> so you'll say James and I'll say Sam. Or we just go with Stevens. >> Yeah. Or we'll just say keeper. Nice save. >> Nice keeper. Yep. >> So we have a minute to go over here. Look like we're going to start around 620 625. >> Yeah, they looks like they did they bring the captains out? Did I even notice? >> They did. Okay, >> they did with the refs. >> Okay, lights are on. Getting ready. >> Yeah, >> this will be good. >> One of the most stressful things. So, years ago when I was helping coaching some of the eighth

024grade and seventh grade girls, we had a friendly scrimmage. >> Yeah. >> Maybe against Welssley probably in October, but the lights never went on and we were calling. I might have called you because you you knew you might have had some of those connections. We were trying to find the day >> and you know you're getting a little nervous because we invited Welsley out eventually 30 minutes later lights came on but it was uh nerve-racking. >> Yeah. >> When it's a non-sanctioned you know youth game. There was a game um what was I think it was a lacrosse game that uh it went into double overtime and the lights just went out at the high school like in the middle of the game like right at the end of the game and so they they

025were there though so they came and turned it on timer. Yeah. So they turn right back on but they went off. >> Interest so it must have been an early game because where it was getting dark out so it must have been an April Wait you say playoffs >> lacrosse. >> Oh l Yeah, >> which is in the spring. So >> it was late it was a late >> April game maybe. Whatever it was, it got the lights went out late. >> Oh, that's right. Game could have started at 7:30 or you're >> correct. Yeah, it was a night game. >> Yeah, >> it actually was a night game. I think it started at 7. >> Okay. >> And I'll never forget there was a game here once. It was a day and it was

026all fogged in and they had same thing, but it was lacrosse, but they had lacrosse games going on. It was just fog on this field right here. It was crazy. >> Like you could you could see about 30 yards. Yeah. And that was about it. So, I should know that you know the there was a big Bears Eagles game second time, but it was the they had a ton of fog. I forgot what they call that game. Might have been the fog game. >> Yeah, >> that's interesting. You don't expect that over here. >> That's how that's how the Bears always play anyway, right? They're always in a fog. >> They're always in a fog. They're playing foggy. >> And here we go. Looks like they're going to uh come out. Looks like Ashen probably

027got the touch. That's what it's looking like to me. But we'll see in a moment. >> Yep. Ashton will be kicking off. So, we will do our best to uh >> Yeah, bear with us. >> Bear with us for >> We will certainly get the goal scorers and if there's a significant event, we will certainly get that, but the playbyplay might be a little scratchy. >> Little scratchy. It's okay. So, it looks like the goalkeeper um might is Elliot number one. So, I saw number one on the jersey. >> Okay. >> So, junior. >> Yep. Elliot loan >> assuming that's correct. >> And a first shot in. Beautiful. Nice save by the goalie. That is out of bounds. It's going to be a corner kick. [Music] And I guess that was Elliot that take that

028shot. We're listening to the crowd. It was good. Or maybe that was the goalie. No, the goalie saved it. My bad. >> Great save. Like good lefty kick. >> Yep. Right off the bat. And looks like uh not quite sure who's taking this shot. Seven. Looks like number seven's going to be Arthur Sou is going to take this corner kick with a little bit of help from uh Costa. And uh they're trying to keep it in the zone here. >> And 19 is going to clear this ball out. [Music] >> Looks like Bedfield's finally having a chance to get some offense going on. Crossing the 50 for the first time. >> It's a nice clear number seven. >> And they're just going to let that one roll out. It's going to be a goal kick.

029And uh Surn will take this kick potentially. Or is it might be number 12? Not quite sure who's going to take it. Chris Patel >> out to Thiago. Thago back up to number. Maybe we'll just go by last names or something. How's that sound? We'll do our best. >> Last name, first name, numbers. >> And it's down into the midfield area. Cleared in, but it's in control by Medfield. And Milfield's looking to get it back out. And it's a little it's a good ball, but it's picked up by Ashlin. Ashlin's looking to make something here. >> I thought I heard a whistle, but maybe that was just me. Maybe >> I think it was behind us. I think it was the uh flag football. >> Okay, >> so lot of lot going on in the

030midfield here and Ashlin's looking to get the ball back. Midfield's kind of controlling it at the moment, >> working it out wide, trying to make something happen. and didn't have much going on. And it looks like we're going to try to get a clear here. >> And it's a turnover in the area. >> Good job pressuring. >> Good good defense there. Uh it's going to be a goal kick for Ashlin. The shot far wide. Really not a shot actually. It was more of a looked like an errant pass. >> Yep. So, we'll try and see if we can identify some of the players right now. Looks like we have Khan Costa playing number 10 for Ashland Jr. >> Conrad is playing uh looks like playing midfield and we had a >> number 14 just looks

031like he just checked in. Uh Owen Ishach and Fer with a nice clear up. Oh, right to midfield, but uh Medfield was there to hold on to it. And Ashton's going to have to work their ball work here a little bit better to get the ball out. >> Ashton started with a ton of momentum, but right now seems like it's kind of swung a little bit to midfield. >> We'll see. It's u I'd say this is it looks like midfield's controlling what they call the midfield. Uh so the midfielders are out playing ours a little bit right now. >> Um nice slide tackle there. It's still a turnover. It's going to be a throw in for midfield on the side on the far side probably around the >> 20 yard line. Yep. >> Oh, he's

032making a little deeper. >> Little deeper. >> Hey, look. You got You got You got to try. >> That might be a >> That looks like a Is that a goal kick? >> They're giving him a corner kick. >> Yeah, number 10 is going to take this corner kick. Um, that is Sebastian >> Brookke. >> Well, your eyes are better than mine. I can't even see his number. >> That's a good kick. But >> I need a blue blue foot on it is what we need. Yep. >> There we go. They got it out wide. We're going to drop it back in there. >> And a nice save by by Fstra. >> Really nice save. Guy got a good header on it to the left. Be sure just uh grabbed it with his hands. >>

033Y So far, two good saves, one by each goalie. So, goalies are ready. >> Fish is uh a little taller than the midfield goalie. But >> yeah, they're controlling. They've got a really strong midfield. Midfield does. And uh >> our defense is good. Attack when we get the ball is looking good. Midfield's getting beat a little bit. So, let's see if they can tighten that up. It might be one of the reasons why they did a already did one swap out. >> Yep. See if they can get some young some fresh legs in there. >> Fresh legs. >> Looks like it's be an Ashlin throw. >> Oh, it's going to be a midfield throw instead. >> Or is it? >> It is national by number 14 AK is throwing the ball in. Me's doing a

034good job pressure. >> There we go. Oh, that's a turnover. >> Future with a nice play. Good defense on our end. >> Trying to work this out. He's looking for some help over here >> and just out of bounds. >> Yeah, wasn't able to control that ball out of bounds. That was number 10 Costa. So, it's a turnover. [Music] And there's a turnover by Medfield. >> And Ashlin's just trying to get some attack, get some momentum going here. >> Yeah, Medfield's doing a good job keeping the ball in their offensive zone. And >> it's number 19. >> Yeah, Max Tilman, he looks like he's got some wheels. >> Another good save. >> He's a strong midfielder. I can tell that right now. >> He's helping control that midfield right now. >> Max Til uh Tilman

035who's a sophomore. >> Wow. >> Yeah. So, I think Medfield's going to enjoy having him for a couple years. >> Here we go. Ash's trying to make something here. Coming up the far the close near side to us. Cleared it back over to get some space. >> We got to get the control here. >> You were talking about that first touch is such a key part of this game right now. >> Yeah, there's not going to be a lot of room for error. >> Nope. There's number 19 Max just being a disruptor right now. >> Yeah, a lot of the play has been stalled right in the middle of the field in between the 20s. >> Yeah, Future's got two good saves. Tilman on the other. >> Here's a turnover. Let's see if we can

036make something out of this. >> There we go. Number seven, that's Souza. And a turnover in the end. didn't really have a ton of support. Had trying to go up against five defenders there. So, >> it to number seven. >> That was a good effort right there. Number 17. That's Jacob. Thiago. Jacob. >> Deon throwing the ball in for Medfield. >> That's going to be a midfield throw. They're trying to work something down in the corner. >> Coops across. >> We're going to have a corner kick by Midfield. >> Well, they're beating us to the ball right now. Um, and I'm sure that uh no idea if it be fatigue or if it's just speed. They just got to catch up to the speed that midfield has right now. >> The momentum is really on

037midfield's side at this point. So, >> number 10 is taking this kick. That is Sebastian in >> Oh, and he just kicked it wide. >> Just kicked it wide. Had a shot there. >> Was that number 19 again, Matt? >> He's everywhere. But that's that's a strong midfielder. >> He is. >> He's playing that role. Perfect. >> He is >> seems to have that whole endurance going on, skills, will and skill. >> Yep. Nice play by him. >> Move out left. Tough to see who that is on midfield. >> Ashton's winning some touches here, but they're having a tough time getting the ball up over into the offensive area. >> Yeah, with the exception. >> That was a slight trip. Medford ball. You know, they had that one big little spurt right when started the

038game, but since then it's really been Medfield controlling the ball, controlling the pace. >> That's a nice play. >> It's a nice play. He's open on the left. Can get through. >> Just can get the ball up high enough. >> I've been on the receiving end of those short ones. It's too It's tough because you think you got the lane. >> It's going to be another Ashlin throwin here. Number 17 once again, Jago Jacob. I think that was number two that had that header before William Cotch on the midfield side that defended that uh first play there. Ball going back to the goalie. A strong kick out right. >> Nice touch number five. That's a Colin Doyle. >> They're not backing down. This is great. Ashlin's looking good. They're trying to get their foot in

039there, disrupt the plays. They're doing a good job. >> It's just when they get the ball, we got to try to get a little bit more control over it. So, we'll see how it turns. >> I'm expecting a really highly competitive game over here. Probably not probably not a lot of goals, but any goals that happen, he's got to take advantage of it. So, Ashlin's just trying to get some control, get some momentum. comes a nice little leeway into center defended by Ashland. >> Control. They're going to try to set something up here. And it's a good takeaway right there. >> And again, just trying to Looks like they're trying to lead uh number seven, uh, Souza. They're trying to just get him something on a on a run. >> Yep. >> Settle it. >>

040Good touch over there. Ashland, I think, has some control over here. Let's see if they can uh put something together to the right. Number five, Danielle. Is that a trip? Let's see. >> Is he going to give me a yellow? >> Uh, no. No. No. >> Just give him a little warning. Y settle down. That's a good warning. >> Yeah, agree. >> I don't think it was intentional. >> So, it's gonna be a direct kick here, but >> it's going to be by Devin Caro. He's going to take this kick. Try to drop something in there. >> Get a deflection or get a one touch on something. >> That's a nice kick >> like that. >> Oh, wow. >> Sebring with a beautiful save. That's a nice header by 19 and uh made a great

041save on that. >> Yeah. >> So now they're just trying to get the ball back out again. >> Everyone is cleared out of the zone. >> That's a high kick. Not as far. >> That's a little short. >> Yep. >> And Medfield got their head on it first. >> So that's three legit saves by Secret over there. >> It is. And that last one, I mean, the header, it was going right, went left, and he had his hands up. >> He did a great job. >> Did a nice job. I would have dropped it. Went right through the fingers. >> So, we got a goal kick here by Ashlin. It was a clear in by Medfield. Now, it's going to be a short clear, so he's going to they're going to work it up the

042side here. See if they can get get something to take. And it looks like they've moved 19 up to attack for some reason. >> He's playing attack right now. Maybe he's get a breather on the field. That's my guess. >> Yep. You're probably right. Yeah, number 12 looks like him a little bit. Got the blonde hair. That is Calvin Frey, another sophomore. So, >> and that was a quick out of bounds. Ashman's work and excuse me, Medfield's working it across the other side trying to get this thing set up >> again. Working it back through the middle. And 19 again with the ball. He's getting a lot of touch on that ball. >> Oh, what a great touch there. >> And that is >> No, didn't go through. >> That was a good effort by

043midfield, but um that last uh shot was kind of wasted, not going to lie. >> It was It was It was just almost Is that a timeout or >> It looks like we got a time out. Yes. >> All right. >> It looks like the clock's still running. So, I guess I'm just not quite up on my uh timing skills here for >> I thought the clock stops, but >> So, real quick, we'll just uh kind of during the pregame, we did some uh around the clock, so we'll do some of that now in case anyone missed it. But, uh again, this is Ashlin 40 and2 against Medfield for it was 4-2. Um so, winner right now gets their fifth win. Um Ashlin tied Westwood on Tuesday 2-2. Uh so they're coming off a tie

044and Medfield beat Medway 7 to one. So um girls this week uh lost I think four nothing or 5 nothing. They have a record of 1 and4. That's the girls varsity team. Their next game is against Grafton at 2 p.m. After this the boys soccer team is at Grafton at noon. So if you are in Grafton you want to watch a double header. Uh, boys varsity noon, girls varsity at 2 pm. And girls did are not playing medfield today. So, not sure why. Usually, uh, boys and girls just kind of alternate between home and away. And couple other things going around the clock. We have field hockey. So, girls field hockey. We are currently one and five. >> Yeah, I think they're on a building year, aren't they? They had a lot of kids graduate

045last year. Which one? >> Girl soccer or hockey? >> Field hockey. They are still a very young team. >> Yep. >> They actually made the playoffs. uh was not last year, the year before. Y >> Molly Fleming, great team, but uh they're in a much much building year. So, a lot of juniors, good amount of sophomores. >> Um and they play next game is against Bellingham and uh at 4:00. So, we'll finish that up uh at the next timeout. And clock did stop. So, it's now at 2617. >> Yeah, it looks like they did set it and then reset it. >> Yep. >> So, Ashton's trying to work the ball out here. Number 18, Sebastian Cole. Got a couple of Sebastians on here. >> It's okay. We got a clear out. >> That's a save.

046Good clear out. >> Yep. >> And looks like they're trying to get something going here. >> Passed it behind him. >> Yep. [Music] kind of like what you said. I think midfield strength obviously is that midfield. They just seem to control the ball, >> not giving Ashel a shot and then they're just keeping the momentum on the attack at this point. >> Yeah. And they're keeping it's interesting they're keeping it looks like only two up, but their midfielders are so active. >> Yep. >> Like it's tough reading like even with the lineup like this what they did for a lineup. >> Um they certainly have three backs. It looks like they actually have like four backs. It's interesting. So, I'm not I'm not quite sure what they did. I'll have to look at it when

047they set up. >> When they set up again. >> Y. >> And here's going to be a clear. It's going to be a goal kick by Fenstra. >> Try to get this thing up and out. See if we can get an Ashlin foot or head on it first. We don't. >> Number 12, Calvin. >> Yeah. Being defended over here. Uh Divera is working hard on 19. That was a good good off defensive play there to get that ball out of bounds. He's got his hands full with that sophomore over there. >> He does. >> You just got to slow them down. You got to maintain them as best you can. >> Yep. >> Little bit of chasing going on here. Little bit of chasing. Yep. >> But Medfield's moving the ball really, really well. Good

048defense. Whoops. >> That was a good play. >> A tough play. You got to get a foot on this. >> Let's go north south now. How about How about that? >> Got to get that ball up. >> Get the pull up. Agree. >> Oh, that's a good cross. Oh, nobody there. Nice there. >> Who that is? I can't tell from here. Number three. >> Ashlin. >> Well, Ashlin, I didn't see >> I was actually looking at 19. 19 trying to dive for that header earlier. >> That was an offside call. Number 10 is not happy with that. That's I think that's a Sebastian or something on their team. >> Yep. Sebastian. >> Okay. >> Yep. >> So, we're gonna have a clear here. And it's a kick right out of bounds unless he can get

049a foot on it. He's got to get a foot on it. >> And it's a turnover. >> There's Nicholas to Silva. >> Yeah, right now, uh, you know, Medfield's moving the ball really well. Ashlin's kind of reacting versus, >> but they just haven't had a lot of touches lately. >> They haven't. >> Every time they get the ball, >> they're getting there's a midfield player or two right on them. >> Yep. >> So, we'll see if they can adapt here. >> It's probably the best team they've seen to this point. >> Yep. >> Midfield probably a bigger team as well. Physical team. Yeah. >> But pretty sound fundamental team as well. >> Correct. Here we go. That's some good defense from Ashland. >> Every time Ashlin gets the ball. All right, >> there we go.

050He's a little offensive here. Going number eight. >> 18. Yep. >> Junior. >> Nice move. >> Is trying to get the corner here. >> Get a shot on. >> Nobody over there. No one's over there. They're trying to set something up. Ashlin's finally getting a little work here getting the ball set up a little bit. >> Oh, what a shot. >> What a shot. >> Up and over. It's going to be a goal kick, but that was a good effort. >> Great shot finally. >> I can see what they're trying to do here. Their attack is they're it looks like they're swapping out their attack right now. Getting some legs, new legs, fresh legs in there. And as soon as we can see their numbers, we'll let you know who's popped in here. >> That

051is 28. >> Dylan. >> Yep. And 22. Colin Turner just checked in as well. >> The third person I did not see. >> And here we go. We got some moves. Looks like uh Trying to work something here. >> See if we can get a >> Ashlin's got the ball. They're trying to set a play up here. Let's see if they've got something going far side. It looks like they are. Got to get a body on it. Oh, it's a miss by 14. Ash Aishak missed a and >> keeping the ball in the center of the field here. Trying to work it back outside. >> Got a little bit of room here. Oh, it's a >> Deep shot. Tough shot from out there. That's outside the 18. That's always a tough shot. So, >> uh

052it's going to be another goal kick. >> Two shots over or through the goal post, I should say. So, >> and they're doing the right thing. They're just they got to take shots when they think they have them. Yep. That's how you're going to >> wear them down. You're going to try to get, you know, one of them's going to come in. So, >> yep. Got to put some pressure on the goalie as well. >> You're not going to score anything if you're going to miss >> if you don't take a shot. >> Agree. >> There comes number 19. >> That's all right. Yep. They got him. >> And that ball's going way out of bounds. All right. >> It's going to be a throw in. Yep. >> From midfield. >> Good play by the

053goalie just clearing the ball. That's the play he had. >> Oh, we got to get control of those. >> Good defense. >> Yeah. Defenders. Yep. >> Put some pressure on the goalie. >> You got to put the pressure. [Music] had a shot over there. Ball jumped right through >> 15 with a clear for midfield. He's uh >> another sophomore. Wow. >> A young team. >> Young team playing a lot of the youth too. So >> good thing with Ashton though is they have a very deep good pipeline of kids playing. So they do >> freshman team, JV team, youth program. gives their coach a lot of options. >> Yeah. So, still zero halfway through the first quarter or first half, I should say. >> It's a lot going on in in between the 20s and

054in between the 30s almost actually, but uh another throw in for Ashlin here trying to work the ball up. I missed that one touch there. What do they get? [Music] >> It's a great pass to Medfield down left. >> Good defense. Yep. Really good defense. >> We'll take that corner kick any day. >> Yep. That's going to be a corner kick from Medfield. Looks like number seven and 19 are going off in the corner. They've started up already. No time to set. And somebody >> didn't pick him up. >> And that's a kick to the wide. So, it's going to be a goal kick for Ashland. Seemed like something got either miscommunicated or just uh got missed over there. >> No, I think what they did was Ashlin just played ready ball basically and then

055they just tried to do it here and they couldn't. Somebody's subbing. Oh >> yeah. So Fra's got four had four legit saves. Like >> yeah, >> not shots on goal. There's been more shots on goals, but four saves that are could have been goals. And uh Not quite sure who that pass was to, but >> Medfield side of the goal. He's been pretty quiet. He's had some some activity the last couple minutes. Uh, one really great save to start the game. >> It's almost like Ashton's playing like this zone, but they're just like missing. Oh, >> good defense there. Very >> good defense. It >> was a good feed in in by midfield, but Ash was ready for it. But it's a very defensive game right now. Like it's Ashton's playing a very defensive game.

056>> Yep. >> When they have a break, they get a break, but other than that, they uh >> they're playing a like bend but don't break kind of uh >> a little bit right now. >> Right now, but we all know all you need is one breakaway. >> Great header. Number 19. >> We're going to be saying max and 19 a lot on the midfield side. Good defense. Can't see the number. have 17 on our end. >> Thiago Jacob looked like him >> forced another corner kick for midfield. This is their third corner kick. >> Third. Okay. >> Ashton's had one. >> Doing a short kick and got a whistle for Nope. It's just a regular corner. >> Yeah, they were just trying to pull defender. [Music] >> And looks like it's going to be

057a goal kick for Ashland. >> That ball went through. He had a shot. >> It snuck. >> Snuck right in. And looks like Fer is going to try to get this thing out of here. He's kind of sick of this activity down here. >> Yeah. See if he goes left or uh he's been hitting most of them in the middle, >> but we got to get an Ashlin foot or head on this ball. And it once again, we don't. I'm not quite sure why that is. Um >> I'm not quite sure what's happening. Yeah. >> Got to turn those uh goal kicks into some kind of advantage. >> No, they're just being beat to the ball. >> Yep. >> Yeah. Ash has one guy up right now. They're playing nine guys back. >> Yep. >>

058That's uh that is a defensive stance right there. >> Yep. Medfield's just finding a way to kind of break that zone a little bit. Ashlin's not breaking. >> Looks like Ashlin ball. Yep. >> Oh, it is going to be Ashlin. >> See if they guys can. These midies are exhausted. >> Yeah. Sub over here. >> The defenders are going to be exhausted. Ball got through and it's three midfield players. >> Their starting attack has been off the field for quite some time for Ashlin. >> I noticed that as well. >> Get some momentum going on over here. Ash bringing the ball up. >> See if they can get something to somebody. Who's 24? Oh, call him McFarland. [Music] >> And 19 has not seen the sidelines and I have a feeling he won't. >> He

059won't. But >> I can see why. >> Yep. >> He and number 10 seem to be uh their strongest players. Although 10 looks like he's taking a break right now, so Nope. 10's in the corner here. Get with the ball. >> Yep. >> Good play defending that Medfield ball. >> It's going to be a Medfield throw. And that was a head out of bound. And it is a corner kick. Number four, number five. But >> so about 13 minutes left in the uh first half. 0 0 >> probably about 67% of the play has been in Medfield's offense. Ashlin's defensive angle. >> Oh yeah, >> for sure. If not higher. >> Yeah, that's why you need a good goalender. >> Good kick out left. >> He didn't get this thing out. >> There we go.

060This is the problem with when you're pulling everybody back is nobody to clear to. >> Yep. >> There's a nice clear. >> Nice job. >> Way to beat him the ball. Got to get more of that. >> Oh, this is a great ball. >> Come on. >> Oh, >> good job. >> Just on the just just on the 18. >> Yep. >> Save by the goalie. He's going to try to get this a kick. You don't recall him having a very good foot. >> Gets it to about 55 or 45 I should say. >> Here we go. Ashlin's got a little turnaround. Little momentum here. >> I mean, Medfield's been running their head off. So, >> let's see if Ashen gets some fresh legs in there to get get this play moving. They're being very

061cautious on the on the clears. >> Yep. >> That is a turnover. We need it. >> It's a good move on the right. No. >> Wow. Stolen by uh number 12. >> It's Colin Fray. >> A great defensive play on >> Who was that? That I'm sorry. Just the numbers are turning so fast and they really the numbers on the front of their jerseys for Ashlin are really small. >> Yeah. >> And so uh I think we got to push be a turnover for Ashlin's going to have a indirect kick here. >> That ball somehow just keeps moving closer and closer. It's going to go way back here. I think on the 35 if the ref gets it. Might even be further back. >> Yeah, >> that's a little far back, but that's okay. So

062indirect. Looks like Fer's going to come up and take this kick. See if we can get something here. Get a deflection. >> Yep. >> We got Lio and Aishak are in there. >> Good shot. Oh, >> right on the net. >> Right. Right to him. >> Nobody out there. No one's out there on the right. That's a turnover. That's great. Ashlin throw. >> We got a sub. About five, six Ashlin players coming in. Two midfield players coming in. >> Got to get some wheels. >> Clock keeps ticking. Down to almost 10 minutes left in the in the half. It's an Ashlin throw. And just going to give another shot here. a little early. >> Sure what the whistle's for, but we're back on. I was going to say Midfield's got a pretty good defense over

063there. Careful. >> And they're giving it back to throw. >> These short throwins are interesting to me. It always was about getting it up and out and uh now they do these drops. And again, going back to what I was saying is the foot control is so different now than it was >> years ago. So, it's nice to It's It's a little bit more European. >> Yep. >> It's all about the touches. Agree. >> Swap sides by midfield here. Little tap in and Ashlin's on top of it. And looks like they're about to clear the ball out. >> Great defense. Good lefty kick. >> That's a tough play into a little bit of a no man's land. >> Ashlin has to contain over here. >> That's a good ball. Got to get a foot on

064it. Get a foot on it. >> Nice job. That >> was a number 18 on Medfield. Just uh disrupted it a little bit. That was a Sebastian Cole. >> They couldn't get it set up down there. Their defense played it really well, but uh >> it was a good effort to get the ball down in there. >> Watch that kick. That's a great pass to number 10 >> who doesn't apparently have a right foot. >> Yeah, I was going to say if he did, he should have. That was a missed opportunity. Good, good defense. Ashlin kind of recovering, but he had a shot there. >> And they're looking to clear it back out by Ashlin's moving the ball. He's trying to get up and out. >> Ball up left. Let's see if they can find

065him. >> This uh going to get a touch on that. >> This kick and run is uh is not really working yet >> uh >> for either team. So, >> agree. Think >> Medfield the way they're keeping those three defenders there, they're kind of not letting the ball go through. >> Somehow that ball stayed in. Not sure how. >> What a stop. I don't know who did that. I couldn't see. I think it was a defensive block. >> Defensive goalie didn't go through. But >> great defense. >> Again, it's a little dark here. I think everybody knows this field is uh never the brightest field in the world. >> It's very wide. I think I think the uh field over there is brighter than this one. So, >> the grass field over there. >> Well,

066if anyone doesn't know the backstory on that, maybe we'll share it if you remind me. and clearing. Yep. >> Get some air in their lungs. Take a little break here. Midis need to get some rest because they're going to be right back at it right now. >> Yep. >> Again, nobody on the ball. >> What do we got? >> Kind of trip or something or a push? >> Not quite. It must be. >> Yep. 40 on the 38. >> Yep. Didn't see who the foul was on, but >> midfield ball. >> It's going to be a midfield. They keep moving the ball up. If you don't notice, it's a old trick. Let's see if the ref picks the ball back up. Yeah, it's back here. There you go. take the five yards back. >> So,

067it looks like it's going to be an indirect kick here. >> So, what are they measuring? Is that 10 or 15 yards? >> It should be 10. >> 10. >> Yeah. That's out of bounds. It's going to be a goal kick. >> Yeah, I think that went over the net, right? >> It did. Yep. >> It's a great save. >> Yeah, great save. >> Nice shot. >> Solid. Trying to see who got on the replay. So, it was a save. Medfield got the ball and just hit the ball um above the net. So, great job by FRA. Got a little lucky there on the rebound. >> Good defense on Ashland. Looks like midfield football. >> Looks like we got subs coming in. >> Got some rest. It looks like number 10. Midfield's going out. Got

068another throw here. >> Just under five minutes still. No goals as we kind of thought. It might probably going to be a lowscoring game. That's a take away by Ashlin >> and a turn back. Turn over again. So again, just trying to get the ball to open space. They're having a tough time doing it. Ashlin is they're they're doing fine getting protection down low. Uh but once they get possession, they're having a hard time getting that thing to an open spot. >> Eventually what happens, something cracks and then there's an opportunity. So >> that's soccer. >> That's That's what Medfield's hoping for right now. >> That's an elbow in the face, but they didn't call it. >> That's a trip on Medfield. >> Little too much leg. Yep. >> Almost a good almost a good

069tackle, but just a little too much leg on that. It's going to be Ashlin. >> Here we go. Got some control right now. >> Trying. They're pretty flat. I'm not going to lie. They're pretty flat at midfield here. They're opening up a little bit now, but >> not quite sure. They're working it. >> Playing it back. Trying to work it out wide again. Trying to get something moving here. >> Got to go to that ball. One touch. Nice play >> again. Staying with it. Play by midfield. Number 17. Picked it up on >> Thiago. Good defense by >> Thiago. Oh, what a nice play. >> Out of bounds. >> Good effort. >> Yeah, good effort. >> Good defense. ball went through, defended by Ashlin. >> Good play by Really good play by number eight. >>

070Using the body. >> Got to use your body. >> They're physical team, but I mean Ashton's a physical team. They're just trying to get it just when they're on your heels a little bit. >> Just have to be physical. >> Yep. move by Medfield. Number 19 or 15 comes the shot. Should be a save. >> Number six by Fenstra. So again, Fra is doing his job defending it in position. >> Boy, are the lights bad here. I'm not going to lie. >> Yeah, the lights are definitely >> I mean, it's not dangerous. It's just tough to see. It is >> for us especially. >> Oh, you got to get a foot on. You can't wait. There you go. >> Little bit of a collision in the center and looks like he might be hurt. >>

071There we go. Thiago's here. >> Let them play this out over here. Yep. >> Oh, here we go. >> Don't Don't waste this opportunity, guys. [Music] >> That was number 13 that got knocked down, but uh he's playing right now, playing through. Step up. Step up. Blue. There you go. >> All right. Just about a minute left over here. Let's see if Ashlin can uh get a goal. Get an opportunity, a shot. >> It won't take much of a shot to >> the play. It makes sense. >> See if we can get something up here. We need somebody on the far side here because there's a good clear way. Uh it's a header, but uh not a controlled header, unfortunately. >> No, Ashlin. Nice defense. It is hard to see. Was that number nine on

072Ashland Dimmitri? >> It's been a good clean game. I think uh I think we're seeing Ashlin's depth here >> a little bit where they can bring in some fresh legs. >> Yep. Agree. >> And we talk about this kid uh number 19 um Max. He is definitely a player to watch for uh the next couple years. >> Yeah, he will be >> very skilled. >> Yep. >> And is that the half? Not sure. Um, yeah, >> that was kind of an uneventful. Was it a minute? Did it tick down? I didn't even notice. >> It must have. So, well, anyway, that is the end of the which we believe is the end of the first half unless there's some timeout that we're unaware of. Score 000. Um, just some quick highlights on our end on

073Ashlin's end. Sbran Fenstra six at least six six saves over there. >> Yeah, he's been doing a great job. >> He's been solid. I mean, a couple of them were uh could have been goals. So, great job by our goalie on the midfield side. That's Elliot Long, number one, junior. Two saves, but his first save in the first minute of the game where Ashlin off of the uh >> first attacked. That was >> It could have been one nothing right out of the gate. >> So, >> I'm assuming this is halftime right now. >> Yeah. It's funny. The clock says two minutes. I don't know how long they're going to go for half. So, >> so we'll just we'll hang out and if it's >> kind of miss what happened over there unless it's just

074a actually I'm not even sure. >> Definitely not halftime. >> No, >> we do have replay but uh it probably wouldn't make sense. >> So, if anyone's watching, you can see the clock actually says two minutes on it still and uh we were well below one minute. Yeah. >> Uh so, >> it's up to the refs now. >> Yep. We'll just try to give you a little bit of playbyplay as best we can. >> But boy, is it dark in those corners. >> So, it's looks like it's going to be a throwin for Medfield on the side. >> And they're going to try to probably get one more play in here. My guess is there's not much time left. Good >> little bicycle kick by Midfield. Stop by Fenstra. We'll give that one a save

075as well. >> Looks like they're just trying to buy the time. >> There it is. >> There we go. All right. >> So, not sure what that timeout was, but now it's officially happening. >> Apparently, I think it just was a timeout and they were just trying to set up to see if they could do one play. Yeah, that's all it looked like it was going to be. It's just when the clock is stopped. Here we are. >> All right, now we got the cameras on us. A little dark over here. So, all right, we have halftime right now. Z Medfield versus Ashlin. Both teams looking for their fifth win of the season. Um, we will take a little bit of a break over here. Not sure if this is a five or 10 minute

076break. Clock right now still says two minutes, but uh we'll take a break. We'll be back. Yeah. Thank you guys. It is so dark. >> It is very dark. So I actually don't know the story on the lights. >> So this was a grass field. Yeah. >> So, when this was a grass field, >> the field was over here and they ripped out the grass, they put the turf in and they never moved the lights and it was a smaller field. So, like the lights never were that great. They were fine for like football, but they weren't good for these like type of sports. So, if you look see where the end lights are, they're on like the goal line, like on the 5 yard line. These are on like the 15 yard line, 10.

077So everything is shifted this way. So these corners typically get pretty dark. >> Oh, that's okay. >> Yeah, but that's what And the poles are so much shorter than what they should be. >> See how they should be super tall. >> I had no idea. >> I'm guessing we're not on It's getting a little chilly, but it's nice. >> It's there's some uh there's something on on the fence as well that's keeping some chains. >> We got some lovers. >> Yeah, it doesn't look too good. Yeah. >> I think a lot of them When did they put these? >> I'm guessing about a year ago. >> Yeah, they weren't here. >> They weren't here two years ago. issues. The building that was here was pretty standard. We still have a word yet. So I'm gonna

078try. We're visiting UNH Saturday. What is she interested in? Education. So she knows what she wants to do. So now she's seen Delaware. >> So it's going to be mid60s. It's going to be gorgeous out. I was hoping maybe football game Sean and Sarah meet there, but they're somewhere. But I've never I've actually never been to UN both times when he went. It wasn't bad. >> We like the campus. >> Did you? >> I've never been there. Far is it from us? >> It's like it's going like >> and I like it's not near much. That's the problem. I mean, you can get in New Hampshire. >> Yeah. >> But the town's going for >> Yeah, it's good. Are these mics on right now or Okay, good. >> Okay. So, we'll be mindful of what

079we're saying. Good to know. >> It's working out good. >> No balls over here. easier. I make it more. >> It's all the fun, right? >> All the other sports have two typical Just like whatever during the music >> streaming and looking good right now and there is Right now you're both seem to be fine. >> Everything's fine. As we go along, I'll familiarize you with the system. So you can One thing that works both way. So that's a good way to be conscious without having to change my level of excited yell it could become >> it's just too much. So you got to find a level as an individual help that if you're a softer you're not going to be too dynamic >> then bring it up front always sounds better but as you

080want to sound more deepro. All right, we are about to get going on the second half. Brian S, Peter Clay. Um, zero zero game. >> Good game. >> Really good game. Competitive. Medfield I think has a little bit more possessions. Great goalkeeping by Fenstra. Uh, second half over here. So, I think both teams are looking for a break and um some, you know, putting pressure on the goalies. But, uh, you know, Peter, you have far more experience than Sarah. What's been your quick outlook on the first half? >> My my my just my quick outlook is um you know Medfield's playing very aggressive ball and Ashlin's playing a little bit off the ball and so they're just not getting there. So I think um I if I were the if I were I think it's

081Thiago is their coach right for Ashlin. I think what they would be saying is you got to get on the ball quicker. You got to be a little bit more aggressive um because they're just beating him to the ball. Yep. So, if we can if you can break that up, they're doing well on defense, but it's very reactionary. If they can do a little bit more on the offense and not make it just um a few plays that they're able to get going, just get a little bit more control, I think we we should see Ashlin probably play a little bit better game. >> Gotcha. >> Um but uh no, but midfield's they're aggressive. They're their midfield's strong and uh and they know it. So, um we'll see where this goes. >> Yeah, it you

082know, it makes sense. both teams, one's 4-2, one's four 0 and2. You could tell two solid teams and uh so probably looking for a really good exciting second half. Metfield, I believe, should get the ball to start the game and we'll kind of see what happens. So excited to kind of see the end of uh this matchup over here. Again, Ashlin looking for their first win against any Medfield team for uh across all fall sports. Still not sure what happened with golf this afternoon at 3:45. Usually those results come a little bit later. >> I still have no idea how golf score works for uh >> me neither. >> Usually the lower is better, but uh not in high school scoring. But anyway, >> it's Ashlin Bull. Yep. >> All right. You know, Ashton started

083off really hot >> to start the first half. It's going to be another Ashen throw here. So, it looks like number 10's going to throw the ball in. >> That's Costa. >> Oh, that's a good ball. >> So, I think as you said, whatever the coach talked to them at at halftime, a >> little different right now. Ashling a little more aggressive trying to >> take control. Number seven. Little bump over there. >> That's okay. It's good. Yep. Almost collision on our side. >> Nice play. >> Really great play. Never gave up on out of number five on too much. Yeah, the ball >> tried too much there. >> It's be a white midfield ball. >> Daniel, that made that great defensive play on Ashlin. >> It's a great kick. number 17 over >> the

084Ashlin youth kids that are helping out with the balls over here. They're keeping themselves very busy, especially on our side. >> 19's back at it in the corner here. Blue attire. >> That's the first time he did that. >> Yep. >> That was number 12. Um calling for the ball. Too much corner. Yep. Go to the corner. Little turnover here. Got number seven. Going to take this for Medfield. That's a Who is that? That is Jackson Dodge. What a great name. >> That is a good name. >> Forward senior. [Music] >> A little too far out wide. >> Yeah, a little too much. That's going to be a looks throw in the row in interesting. >> That's a little too much. That's going to be another >> ball. >> It looks like over there. >>

085That's what you do. >> I was guilty of that. >> You play until you you can act dumb all the time. It's better to ask for forgiveness and permission. >> That's right. >> When it comes to this stuff, no harm. >> Good movement by Ash by Medfield. Nice play. >> Great job trying to get the ball out. No one's running. >> Looks like someone got injured on Ashland. >> Not quite sure who that is. >> Okay. Again, I do think, you know, with Ashlin Finch size, just he plays that so well. >> Yeah. >> It's hard to get a goal off him. Hard to get a good shot off him. So, we can figure out. Looks like he's getting up. Should be okay. >> I don't know if that's Thiago. And he seems like Yep.

086>> Yeah, I think it's Thiago Jacob. He's got a little bit of limp going on here. We'll see what happens. Got the trainer out there talking to him. >> So, I always wonder what happened though because Fenra had the ball stopped. >> Does he get to kick the ball? Let's see. Yeah, it's gonna be it's gonna be a goal kick or >> it's going to be a direct kick out. Clear half. >> Our beloved athletic trainer helping him off right now. Right. Looked like Aishak just checked in maybe. And they're just waiting for him to get off the field. And we will resume play momentarily. And here it is. Right back to field going out left. Careful. See, that's where that landing gets a little bit weird because there's a where I can't see his

087number where he was positioned. He's kind of right where the light is shining or not. So, I don't know if you should saw him or not, but no harm. It is tough. I'll tell you because it blended right in. >> I can tell you from here it's brutal. >> Here it's brutal. Like the depth perception is really difficult >> and and it is in a way should be a home field advantage. Just kind of knowing the way the lights are, but it's it's hard. >> Good effort here. I mean number two again that's Aisha playing some good ball there trying to just force the turnover which he did and he was able to get the ball out of the area here. You know the effort I think second half much better starting the second half

088and what happened start not the start of the game they had that great chance the devil midfield is trying to attack over here balls coming out right have to defend good defense over there >> I don't think he touched that I think it's going to be a goal kick it is going to be a goal kick >> all right had some good pressure it's hard to see on is it number eight on our end >> it's really hard to see our our own team's numbers but you know he tracked him down and created the turnover So, good job by Ashland. >> That's going to be a white ball. >> Yep. >> Very job. Good steal. Got to work it out now. >> Sending them. See what happens. Good job with the position on national. I

089think that's Yep. >> Play good control ball. Switched it up but a >> little too far behind him. >> Way behind. >> Yeah. Careful with number 19 over there. >> Take the angle. Don't take the ball. >> Oh no. >> He's good. He's good. Good job. Yep. Ninth save by Finra. >> He is working his guys. >> Yeah, >> it's going to be a kick here for Ashlin. It's a push be a direct kick >> and is not taking the kick. That's number 10. >> Nope. >> And thereunately thrown in. >> Yep. Never was a big fan of that. >> That ball. Who is that? I cannot tell. >> on our end or on midfield. >> Oh, no. Ours. >> I can't tell. >> Nicholas D Silva. Great ball control by him. He is. He

090is very confident back there on that. Looks like he's being left mid. Try to send it to get a control. Yep. >> Over to Luke Isaac, one of the twins over here. >> That's a tough ball. >> Yep. >> Oh, now it is. >> I think the only thing I can see down there is that goalie with that bright yellow outfit there. >> Bright orange. Bright yellow. >> Yeah, his kit's pretty bright, but uh That's about all I can see. So, I feel bad for these refs trying to see stuff. >> That was a good effort. But >> yeah, >> that was a >> number seven. >> Seven on Medfield. A little bit of a turnover over there. Let's see if Ashley came. >> Jackson Dodge. >> That's your name. >> That's a name by

091Ashlin. >> Oh, that's a good clear in. Let's see if somebody get on it. We need somebody else on the ball. And >> number 19. >> It's a good setup there. It's a really good setup. Very >> good. Lefty kick to the center. Set number five. Daniel >> playing along the sideline here. It's a close. It's tough to see far far side where that ball is. Good defense on Ashland. >> Yeah, Ashland's playing some really great defense here. And um I mean it's unfortunate because they have to play so much defense, but uh >> they're definitely tighter this half. >> And it looks like it's going to be a push. So, it's going to be a direct kick on the side for our midfield. >> Gonna try to drop one in here. So, >> what

092is he at about the 10 yard line around? >> Yeah, >> he's probably like 15. He's like 20 yards out. >> It's about 18. About 20 yards out, give or take. >> Ref was calling for something. Not sure on our end of the goalkeeper. >> Not quite sure. All I can tell you once again is what? It's really dark in this field. >> Hate to sound like a broken record, but I feel like I have sunglasses on. It's a good kick. Oh, what a save. He got away with one there. >> What a save. >> Whoa. >> All right, that's a 10th save. >> We're not getting any complaints here. So, it was just borderline. Yeah, >> he snuck that thing. >> The ref was right there. So, yeah, great save. >> Kicked to no

093man's land there. >> Good move. Wow, >> that's going to be harder. Yeah, that's number 12. The goal for uh Medfield. It was just a lazy turnover. Calvin Fry. >> Calvin Fry just took advantage of it. >> That's where the pass came from, but >> yeah, that was just a breakdown right there on the on the midfield uh in the defense. >> So, they're going to reset here. See if they can make back here. watching the replay. It was a nice little after the turnover, I think the midfielder somehow passed the ball behind him and the guy uh >> you know did what he had to do. Nice go. I don't think uh Sean had a shot on that one. He was kind of dead in the water. >> No, no, >> he's uh made

094an effort, but at that point >> it's almost like a penalty kick. So, one- nothing Metfield. First goal. Let's see how Ash >> about 50 minutes for a goal to come in. So, let's see. Right. See if Ashley can kind of uh turn it up a little bit, play some offense, >> hope for some turnovers. So, we got 30 minutes left in the game. Plenty of time. >> Out of bounds. Midfield ball. Is that a goal kick? >> Just give me a goal kick. >> I got two balls in the field. >> I don't know why I threw the ball out there. >> There we go. >> Make the ball boy work. >> Yep. >> All right, we're trying to make something happen here. >> Unfortunately, right to the midfield player. Good header on the

095far right over there. have to defend that. >> Got another goal kick here. >> Good defense. >> Yeah, midfield's pushing it. And Ashlin is not responding right now. They look a little accidentidasical after that goal and they shouldn't be because it was just one little breakdown. That's all >> breakdown. Agree. >> What they say? Got to be a goldfish. Just let it go right now. >> Yeah. Oh no, number 19. Yeah. Yeah. Think that was assisted by number 10 on midfield. Uh Sebastian to number 19 Max. So >> yeah, Max Tilman with the goal. >> Yep. >> Um >> yeah, Ashen's looking uh a little defeated at the moment. Yeah. With um the way they're just even carrying themselves. So let's hope that they can. >> To me, it' be a good time if they

096have timeouts. I think they do. to take one and just kind of recoup, but I'm not quite sure how that works here. Me neither. Sorry, guys. >> Audience probably knows. I don't >> again. You just got to let that go. >> Play your game. But, uh, >> just got to win, get the momentum back, >> get some possessions over here. We have not seen the ball on the Ashlin offensive side in this half until with the exception of a couple of plays right now. Here we go. Here we go. Here we go. Ashlin Ball throwing. See make an opportunity over off of that turnover. A little jammed up right now. Still Ashlin Ball. Take another throw for Ashley. Is that a sub or >> Yep. Interesting time for a sub. Yep. >> But that's okay.

097I can't tell who's going off. 18 10 I can't tell. Sorry guys. Sorry audience. >> It is It is a little tough. >> One more. One more back. Not there. Good job. >> He recovered. So, >> I think that's a timeout. >> Yeah, it is. >> Okay. >> Well, >> that turned quick. >> That turned very quick. So, it was 000 at halftime. First eight minutes or so, no goals. And then all of a sudden, I think Medfield just had two opportunities, I think, off of two turnovers by Ashland. >> It was. >> So, number 19 is uh limping a little bit. So, we'll see what's going on with him. We're at about 25 26 minutes. >> Um, you know, Ashley came out strong to start that second half and just did >> at that

09810-minute mark. >> They're just having Yeah, they're just having a tough time getting the ball down in the offensive zone. It's just um I think part of it is they they came out looking playing very defensively again and hoping playing almost like for a tie. Um more focused on D and then I think they're they just had a couple of quick turnovers that's all it takes. Couple quick turnovers inside the 20 and >> end up in a couple of goals. So, yep. So, still have to play discipline, but they're going to have to start taking some more chances and getting some opportunities. >> Again, Fra is playing a great job. I have him at 10 saves so far, so he's doing the best he can in the net. I'm curious how many timeouts you get

099in high school soccer. I I don't know that answer. >> At least one each craft. So, I think the ball is going to be over here. It's gonna be an Ashlin throw on this side. >> So, a little break. Who do you got for tonight? Pete, >> what's tonight? What game? I don't Oh, football. >> No, I'm talking about the the Fever versus Dreams, WNBA. I got my my >> You and the WNBA. You are quite the uh >> sports enthusiast. >> Caitlyn Clark Les Indiana Fever one. Actually, there's two W two WNBA games on tonight. We have uh Thursday Night Football, I think Miami vers Buffalo, and I'm sure everyone wants to know. And they're excited that the Cubbies have actually clinched the first playoffs spot. The Cubbies. >> The what? >> The Chicago

100Cubbies, not the Bears. >> The Bears. All right, here we go. We got an throw. It looks like uh number 18 maybe >> is throwing the ball in. Or is that Konado? >> I cannot see. Still bunched up. All right, it's almost a turnover, but right to midfield. [Music] >> Yeah, number 10, Sebastian Brooke. I'm guessing he's probably one of the captains of the team. >> If not, he should be. >> Yeah, he's a solid player. >> Very solid player. Midfielder. >> Plays this position extremely well. Good news is with this game that they'll get a rematch >> a few weeks so they get to get to play each other. So >> get a midfield throw in the far corner. >> Good kick out. No idea who it's from. >> Out of bounds. It's going

101to be probably Ashlin ball. >> Nope. >> No, I'm guessing Ashlin did that. Yeah, >> my bad. Now it's >> now the ball. >> Can't tell if that's a throw in or a goal kick. We'll see. >> Oh yeah, back on the 15. So or not. >> It looks like they're back up just a little bit. Have we had an offsides? >> Uh, there was one. >> There was the one. You're right. Y >> for midfield. There were offsides. >> It's a good fight by number 25 on Ashland. >> Is that 25? >> I think so. Yeah, >> it is. But his name is not on the roster. So, >> all right. That makes it hard for us. We'll just make a number 25. >> A header off of Ash. Uh Medfield header off of

102Ashlin though. So Medfield ball. I think >> it is an NFL throw. >> It is. Okay. >> And the ref was right there. So from our angle, it's kind of tough to see, but >> a lot of throws, a lot of balls getting kicked out. >> Not on this side. >> Yeah. Got to get some opportunities over here for Ashlin to get a making it tough on their defense, on their goalie, but unfortunately we just haven't had that shot yet. >> Just need one. >> They are tough. I mean, now what midfield's going to do is is play tough. >> Yeah, of course they're going to just play defensively, >> protect the two goal lead. >> Yep. >> Again, Medfield's coming off a seven to one win against Medway. So, sure how Midway is this

103year, but 71 at the >> That's a lot of goals. >> It's a lot of goals. >> That's a lot of goals. >> That's impressive. >> Yeah. Well, >> they might be struggling. >> True. >> Yeah. Seven's a lot of goals. >> And Fry just making sure he's back in the box. >> We have a yellow line, orange line, red line, blue lines. Can't really know your field. Oops. >> Yeah, that was might be yellow card. Nope. >> I thought the way the ref reacted. All right, that's cool. Just kind of calming them down. >> Kind of like that with the ref. Just kind of taking control. And good job by the ref. Kind of cooling both teams down a little bit. The other seems like he's trying to clear something. Not sure. I think

104he's asking the uh parent maybe who's back there to move over to the right a little bit. >> Yeah, not quite sure. >> Yep. So, we have a kick number 10 again who we think is Captain Sebastian Brookke. Going to try and probably sneak something right through the middle. Nope. >> Good defense. Still throwing. Nice play by number two. Uh, Luke Isaac, the Isaac twins. >> Is that Isaac or Aisha? Is it Isaac? >> I'm not sure. Now, now you make me think. >> Oh, sorry. I don't like to make you think. >> Yeah, I know. We'll just go back to >> Bad things usually happen. >> Yeah, you know it. >> I get my one time. >> All right, there's a throw in. >> I'm defending that. Well, yep. Nice play. >> Got a

105little bit going on here, but we only have one attack up >> to our nameless 25. Can't tell if that's 10. >> Uh my first try and get a penalty. Let's see if we can get an opportunity here. Comes the center. >> It's a corner. >> Is that a corner? Off the goalie. >> Yeah. All right. >> That's a great shot. Good take. >> Really good take. >> That's a really good take. They, you know, they again, I think the uh midfield defenseman blew a tire, but >> he did. >> Here we are. >> It's been a while since we've had a corner kick, so >> long since we've been in the offensive zone. >> Agree. >> And looks like we're trapped down there a little bit. They got to find >> Yep. >> throwing

106by Ashlin. I got to get that one touch in. Ah, good recovery though. Good recovery. Somebody want it? That's a corner. Wow. >> Take it. Number two. >> That's another thing. These short short corner kicks that they often take now. It's pretty funny. There we go. That's a real corner. >> Oh, nope. >> Nobody there. Somehow they were able to clear it to of course number 19. >> All right, Ashton recovers. >> You got to get the ball in the air. >> Yeah, >> we're just kind of waiting for the ball to come to us. They got to get a little more aggressive on that play. Looks like number 16, senior Gregory Dome's checked in at midfield. And >> I think uh Dimmitri Rosakus checked in as well. Number nine. I think they checked in

107recently. >> We missed them. I think it was during the throwins. Yeah, as you said, kind of the strategy now for Medfield, they're just >> protect, Ben, just don't break and >> y >> make it really hard on Ashlin. >> It's the most offense we've seen Ashlin play. So, >> just got to get one in. >> That's a great ball. See if we can get something in. That's a great hustle play by Medfield by number seven. All right, we're just under about 17 minutes left in the second half over here. We got Medfield winning two-0 on uh two unfortunate turnovers by Ashland. And that looks like a goal kick. Yep. Another goal kick. See, Bron Fra has played a pretty pretty good game. 10 saves, a couple goals. Most of those goals really really didn't

108have an opportunity or a chance. They were almost breakaways in a way, but he's keeping his team in the game. Still fighting, but got to get some control there. Here we go. Number 16 on Ashland. >> He wants it. That's too much. trying to do some pressuring over here and he's going to pick it up. >> That's a high kick. Not as much a long kick. Right to the 50. >> Good news. I never had to take those playing attack. >> Never had to get my head on one of those. >> You didn't? No. >> You're down here. >> Yeah. He was like, "I hope my midies get it." >> Yep. >> Occasionally he'd squeak through, but he'd be on the foot. It wouldn't be on the head. >> Yep. >> So, we have a

109Medfield throw in around the 10 yardd line. Five yd line. Deep throw up the middle. >> Just having trouble getting the ball out. Yeah, I was going to say midfield's kind of laying them playing around a little too much over there. You got to be careful. >> Control the ball. >> Control. One touch. >> Give it. Here we go. Get it. North south, baby. Number nine, Dimmitri. >> Time to dance, boys. >> Got to get some movement here. >> Yeah, those deep kicks from where they are, it's just not getting over. So, it's not >> sure what happened in their other games, but uh I think Medfield's just it's they're >> controlling that kind of strategy. Third one this half. And it looks like they're resting again. They're resting. Uh number seven, Arthur Souza. He's

110on the side. >> Is he on the side? Yep. >> Well, your eyes are better than mine. >> Well, he's not on the field. >> All right, here we go. Corner cut for Ashland. Looks like it's going to be a full kick. >> Yep. >> Can they get ahead on it? There it is. There's a goal. >> There's a goal. Great job. >> I think it was number. >> So, let's see. >> What are they saying? I'm looking for >> I just need him to turn. >> It is so dark, folks. We apologize. We can't see. >> I'm just looking for >> there was a deep corner. I just can't tell who scored. >> Sorry, guys. I know where he is. >> It's really dark. >> Yeah, we could see them. It was a defenseman

111that came in on his uh on the corner kick and scored >> on the left. >> Great goal, though. That's what you needed with his body. He's trying to get his team pumped up. >> 18. >> Yep. That's Nicholas D Silva. I believe he's the one who scored a goal. If he didn't, I apologize everybody. >> It's hard to see >> the way he reacted and just running down. Great job. >> It's difficult to see. >> Nicholas is a junior defenseman. >> Not sure what goal that is for him in his high school career, but it was a great timely one. And Medfield's trying to get the ball, get a goal back here. Good defense. >> You know, if you just look at the body language on Ashlin, they, you know, it's they they woke

112up and >> Yep. >> you just need one little opportunity there. So >> So we have a 2-1 score. Medfield's winning. About 13 minutes left in the second half. >> Very competitive game. >> Yeah, it's going to be a blue throw. Number [Music] nine, Demetri play back over the goalie changing fields. Defender coming up. One thing about this Yeah. One thing about this middle middle school field, I know it's it's much wider, I I believe, than most schools. >> Is it? >> I think I remember >> it's big field. >> It's >> Here we go. >> Good job by the goalie coming up our way to the 40. >> It's number seven on Medfield controlling the ball. >> That's senior Jackson Dodge. That's a good one touch right there. >> Smart play by our defender.

113Looks like number 17 on Ashlin Thiago Jacob Jr. >> And looks like they're bringing back 28's going out. Number Dylan Lio is going out and incoming is Souza and 25. Number 25. Uh the one that we don't have a name, but he's number 25. Careful, boys. >> Corner. Oh, >> get out of there. >> There you go. Just kick it out. That's what you do, guys. Come on. >> All right, we'll take a corner kick there. >> Medfield actually had majority of the corner kicks, but they haven't had one in quite some time this year. >> Yeah, it's kind of it's kind of evened out a little bit >> a little bit. >> So, it looks like they're taking going to take a full kick here, not a short kick. Watch number 19 wherever he

114is. >> Defended well by Ashland. >> Got to get a blue foot on it. That's going to be goalie ball. >> Did not make it. >> Oh, what a great play. >> That was a great play by Duza. Is that who it was? Sorry, >> Dilva. Excuse >> Dilva. That was a great defensive play. A little head and a little clear. >> Yeah, >> that thing was almost surely going to be a corner kick. >> Medfield's locked it down. Here we go. They're trying to get move the ball. Move the ball. As long as those guys can see out there, we can't see much. >> All right, so just about 10 minutes left in the second half. 2-1 Medfield. Ashlin finally uh scoring off of a beautiful corner kick from right to left. They can

115hit off the Ashlin's chest and tuck corner. So 2-1 game. >> Another high kick. Let's see if Ash can get ahead on it. Get something on it. >> Went over. There's that guy. Number 19, Max. He's having a really great game. Kind of knew we were going to say his name a bunch of times today. It's a throw. >> That looks like a throw in. >> Yep. >> Sub coming in. Coming out. >> I got a few people that come and go. It's It's hard to catch the subs. >> Yeah, unfortunately. But >> did I hit the post? >> Yep. One light would just went out. >> Well, >> one bulb just went out. I think >> they're down to two on that pole. It's already darker. >> I was gonna say >> couldn't get

116any darker. It can >> last time I saw that happen was uh the movie The Natural. >> Too bad obviously Robert uh >> Redford passed away this week. >> Ashlin trying to make some momentum. Still has it. See if they can Somebody got him. Oh, you got to get him. >> Sorry, my homer just came out. >> Well, we're good. We're good. >> I see what they're trying to do. We're just got to see if we can find some open space here. That's what they're trying to do. >> Here we go. Got some energy coming down. >> And it's going to be a go Ashlin throw. Down to eight and a half minutes >> as far as we Oh, great ball. ball. Good save by >> by their goalie. >> The only person we can

117see on the field right now basically that >> and the refs. >> Just for the record, he's wearing a fluorescent yellow >> and that's Yep. >> shirt, shorts, and matching socks. >> He's got an interesting toss. He definitely tosses the ball up a little bit when he does his cold kick, but it works. It usually goes from right to left a little bit. >> Yep. >> Maybe a turnover. Good recovery by Medfield. Dodge over to number 10, Sebastian. >> Back over to Dodge. >> Cut to the middle, boys. >> Ah, good defense. I missed who that was on our end, but >> 18. >> Got it. Nicholas, we should know these names, some of these names by now, but we're struggling to see. So, >> it's so hard to kind of check out the numbers.

118either do a short kick or little fake out. Let's see. Going deep. >> The middle. >> Oh, great. >> Great save. What a save. >> Fer just made a gorgeous save >> with his left hand actually. So, >> great job. >> Yeah, he has been stellar tonight. >> He has been. Um, the only things he's given in are kind of just like >> no chancers. >> No chances. Exactly. >> Oh, here. >> All right. Here we go. Here goes. Let's go. Let's see something. >> Little too much. >> One touch. >> He wants that one back. >> He does. >> He wants that one back. >> He was waiting for that one big opportunity and he put those uh he's moving now. >> He is fast. >> He's quick. It's one of our best players.

119So, all right, Ashlin. It is funny how any level you could see when their body language you could tell right now after that first go Ashlin the body language was down now they're definitely feeling it >> if anything so the JB game right before this um Medfield won 3-2 but they scored with less than 30 seconds left >> less than 30 it was probably less than yeah so they >> questionable too the clock could stop but whatever I'm not going to be >> but it's just more like Ashlin should know like until the game is over like >> Oh, this time left. Six minutes left. >> Six minutes. So, keep the composure. >> Medfield does look a little bit more gassed than Ashlin does. >> Yep. >> I think that just goes show the depth

120of the Ashlin team. But those two quick two goals, that's all it took. >> And we get out of play. There's Sebastian over there. >> Oh, that's not Sasha ball should be. Nope. >> Nope. Nope. I think ref called White. >> No, >> that might have been missing. >> No. Anyway, >> that's listening to the wrong people. >> Even number 10 knew he hit it out. >> They got it back. >> That's to nobody. Okay. We can't be doing that. >> Just the wrong color. >> Yep. Five minutes left here. >> They're counting on a miracle here, I think, with those clears, those uh >> Yeah, but unfortunately the way Medfield is defending right now. >> All right, >> here we go. You get the chip up. >> You just need more of that support

121over there. >> Stride and straw with him. Great play. >> What a great defensive play. >> That's what you've been doing. >> Just play the games. >> There's some chirping going on out there. But >> I I think the ref's honestly called a pretty good game so far. >> No, he has. It's it's, >> you know, these athletes, they're trained to know how to >> Well, you got to you got to make a statement. >> You do. >> The refs can't see everything. >> It's It's hard. It's It's so fast. There's only two of them. I thought they've done a pretty damn good job today. >> Yep. >> All right. So, I >> think it's Ashlin ball again. I can't see where the ball went out. Oh, right at the 40. At the 35. So,

122this is interesting right now. So, this is what happened during the JV game. The clock doesn't go down five minutes in the second half. >> Yeah, it looks like uh just for the AD out there, if you're listening, uh their clock does not want to go below five minutes >> when it's in the second. So, right now it's 7:55 on our end just to give us an idea. >> Great play. >> Yep. >> Musa. >> Ah, good defense. Good try. step. >> There's our uh boy dodge over there. Good spin number eight. >> Can't do it all. >> Okay. Nope. >> That's a I got to call it. >> So, I'm guessing we have about four minutes, but there's probably be some extra time. And that looks like a timeout. All right. So, we're in

123for a pretty exciting last four minutes. Medfield's up two to one. Um all three goals in the second half. Medfield went up one- nothing on a Ashlin turnover. Um then another turnover made it two nothing. Medfield about 15 minute mark or so. Ashlin scored on a deep corner kick. Um so got a good game over here. Both teams looking for win number five. And uh see what the coaches are trying to come up over here. So Ashan obviously needs to play a little bit more aggressive, maybe take some risks over here. It's hard because the way they're defending it's uh I think that deep play is just not as effective right now. But uh well I think that you know they've they've they've been on their heels the second half. They've actually risen to the

124risen for the occasion here even though the score is not reflective of it. Um, some it looks like, like I said, the depth of the Ashlin bench has really helped turn the tide here a little bit. >> And, um, and now what I think Ashlin's just hoping for is they can get a >> get a little break here. Get a little They just need a break. >> Yep. >> Medfield had two breaks, two turnovers. Uh, Medfield just hasn't given two turnovers yet to to capitalize on. So, >> in the zone, need that uh that equalizer. So, >> yep. >> It's why you play the game right now. So, I'm guessing we're again, unfortunately, the clock isn't staying at five. So, my guess is we have about 4 minutes before any extra time. And I think

125that's a new clock actually. So, I'm surprised the clock isn't working right now. But, >> do you want to thank the crew, our amazing crew over here at at Waka always doing a great job. You know, actually, we're testing out some new equipment. We got a couple of cameras. You know, at the middle school, it's a little different when at at this field a little bit more remote. Um team is set up here about an hour before. So much appreciative of of all their efforts and let's Peter and I do the easy job and just talk about the Bears. Sorry, that was my third one. >> I got to give it the the amount of equipment they set up here and and uh and the the takedown and the dedication of of Waca is unbelievable.

126And um so of course kudos to them. >> Yep. >> They make it easy for us. We just show up and slap some headphones on. >> Yeah. >> And uh >> you know, here we are. >> Always looking at new tech, too. I love it. Every time it's something different. So it's it's what you want, though. You want a team that's uh >> looking to make our lives easier and make the broadcast as best as possible. So I'm guessing again around three minutes or so. Three, four minutes. >> Yeah. I did a little stop clock here. We'll see what happens. So, I don't know if it's going to actually happen or not, but uh >> we'll have a ballpark of how much time is left. >> Fans just looking to clear this ball up and

127out. >> It's a good effort. A little short. >> A little short in the middle. >> So, just kind of playing the They're playing with time right now. Number 19 hustling down. All right, here we go. >> No time to waste. >> Nope. >> That went out. >> Yep. >> Oh, letting it play. >> Let it play. All right. >> He did couldn't get the whistle in his mouth fast enough. That's what it was. >> I That's not a little bit of a lazy kick there. >> Yeah. >> I'm guessing Max is just going to try and stall. Maybe kick the ball out. >> Keep it in. Great footwork over there. Wow. We don't know 19 or uh no Max at all, but we could tell just the way he uh plays the game. A

128lot of passion, very skilled. >> Yep. >> Sophomore. So Ashlin will be seeing this kid >> for a couple years. And >> we got a sub coming in last minute here. Looks like uh >> so hard to tell the numbers. >> I can't tell. 14. >> 14. >> Owen Aisha. Thank you. >> Or Isaac. It's either Aishak or Isaac. I'm going with Aishack. It looks like Aishak. But I apologize to the family if I'm wrong. >> Owen and Luke. >> Going the wrong way. Guys are running out of time. We are down to about a minute to two minutes tops. >> This is it. This could be the shot. Oh, good defense by Dodge. >> Oh, what a good one time right there. >> Dodge might be hurt. There you go. There you go. >>

129Got to drop on a dime here, guys. >> That's not a bad ball right there. >> With the play. >> It's tough. >> He's tough. He's double team, too. >> Oh, no. No, no. That ball is way out. That's a desperation shot, >> but it's okay. Looks my clock is saying we have down below a minute, but I'm not quite sure what the ref is the ref's got it on his wrist there. >> Makes it tough because not really sure how much that's a very short kick. Here we go. Come on. >> Be looking for a turnover or just an opportunity. That was it. >> In those situations, I always want to have somebody short. Let's get a goal kick. >> An injury. Number 10 is down for Medfield. >> Looks like a cramp though.

130So, >> uh maybe. >> So, we saw unfortunately just with the weather um for the football game, we had about eight of those happening just >> really. >> Yeah. >> Well, it's conditioning and it's the weatherated. Yep. >> My clock has stopped. >> Your timer. Let's see. >> By the way, your wife your wife texted us said we look great on TV. So, >> we look great. All right. >> I don't know how we sound, but that's okay. As long as we look good, >> I'll take anything. >> So, sure. As we're waiting over here, quick story. So, Peter and I did something that most people won't go through back earlier this spring. played played a round of golf and so I have seen I played with someone else that had two two birdies. But

131do you remember the one thing that happened during our round that we'll probably never do again? >> I do not know. I I was it >> wasn't our game. It was we finished 18 holes in 3 hours and 30 minutes. >> Oh, that was down the cape. That's right. >> That was a cape. >> That's right. >> Um I talk about that round more about the fact that we finished three hours and 30 minutes. If our wives are listening, >> normally it's much longer than that, but it was a special round. Peter had two birdies >> and we finished in a mon in a monsoon. So >> that was fun. >> It was a good time. >> We have to do it again before the before the weather changes. >> What are you doing? Saturday.

132>> Saturday. Here we go. Going to UNH. But uh >> I know. I'm kidding. I know. I know. >> All right. Here we go. We got one last effort here. We got a kick by Fster trying to clear this ball out. >> If I were If I were Medfield, I'd have everybody back. That's just me. >> But we got to get the ball in the air. It's not gonna This is not going to happen. >> You got to get this in. There's no time. Kick it in. >> Nope, it's not going to do it. >> So, at this point, we really have no idea how much time. It's probably extra time. >> That's a corner. >> That could be a corner or they What are they calling? >> Nobody. Sorry. They're calling a goal kick.

133>> They called a corner. All right, let's see what happens here. This might be the last play of the game. >> This could be the question they ask if Fenure should go kick it. He's looking. Nope. >> Now they got to get this off. >> There it goes. Sing in two. Oh, >> up and over. >> Is that going to be the game? >> It's going to be pretty close. >> Yep. >> You know, you don't know what we have a sub coming in. >> It looks like two minutes. I think I just saw two minutes. What was he saying? Four minutes left. >> I don't know. >> I'm not sure. >> We're totally guessing over here. We're looking at L at >> That's a great kick. >> That's a great clear. >> Really good

134clear. Ashton doesn't >> didn't have the defense there. Over the goalie get him on the ground. >> Yep. >> Over to Dodge. >> Ball's coming our way. >> Throw it up. Ball's going out right over there. They have one more opportunity if they can just get the ball on net. Give it a chance. Give it an opportunity over here to equalize her at Susa. Good try. That's what you wanted. >> He just can't get a shot. They can't get a shot lined up even if it's 40 yards out. >> Yep. >> That is number 19 Max. That's just >> going to hold the ball. That's it. And that's the game. All right. >> So, Ashton suffered their first loss today. Y >> uh heartfought game. They came out pretty flat. They they flattened out in

135the near the end of the first half, but then they came out hot >> and uh >> what are you going to do? Yeah. Uh they were, you know, Medfield's a fast team. >> They were up on the ball. They were they were playing aggressive. Uh they They had possession. They had possession quite a bit. I'd say 70% of the time they had possession >> for sure. So, um, again, it was so final score, we have a 2-1 game. Uh, Medfield, all three goals in the second half. Uh, pretty exciting game as you were talking about, you know, momentum I think for 70 75% seem to be on Medfield side. Um, >> you know, Ashlin's first lost, uh, they are now 4 and 41 and two. Medfield is 5 and2. >> Yep. >> Um, next

136game for Ashlin is going to be in Grafton. Um, as everyone knows of Grafton, not my favorite uniform because they remind me of the Green Bay Packers, but it's okay. >> Um, so their game is in uh Saturday at noon, trying to get their fifth win. uh girls follow at 2 pm. You know, Peter, uh thank you so much for broadcasting with me today. We you and I have had this >> long history of friendship of coaching our kids, both our kids. Um I know. So, this was fun though. >> Yeah. Yeah. Cuz I needed someone that knew something about soccer. >> I don't know. It's good. This is good. This was fun. You know, uh great weather. I think the rest hat did a great job doing their their thing. Special thanks to our

137WACA amazing >> uh team as well. If anyone's interested whether broadcasting on the computer just, you know, reach out, you know, Rob Silver, um Josh Abrams, um anyone on the staff. I think they've we've had a great uh youth of um Chase Abrams, Daniel, Andrew Clay did a few games >> uh last year. I know Rob's daughter usually does a game with him. My daughter two years ago. Yeah, >> we're getting old. >> We are getting old. So, um, you know, Peter Clay, Brian S from Ashlin Middle School, final score 2-1 Medfield. And, um, go Clockers. >> Go Clockers. >> Yeah. Thanks everyone. Appreciate it. >> All right, brother. >> Appreciate. No, thank you, man.
