All right, good evening and welcome to our December board meeting. It's already the end of the year. December sounds funny to say. Um, let's call the meeting to order. And our chairman, Mr. Clark, is not here tonight, so I'll be taking over for him. Trying to do as good as he does, but we'll muddle through it. Get you out here quickly. Okay. Our agenda has been approved for this evening. If you would please stand

with me for the pledge of allegiance. I aliance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> Okay. At this time, I'm going to um turn the meeting over to Mr. Jones so he can conduct the election of officers for next year. Thank you so much. Um, first order of business for the election of officers is uh I would like to take any nominees or suggestions for nominations uh for board chair. Does anyone have anyone they'd like to nominate? >> I nominate Mark. >> Mark Clark. Any other nominations? Okay. Hearing none, we will affirm Chairman Clark if there's no discussion by information. Does that sound appropriate? Right. And now we're at a point where uh

typically I'll turn it over to Mark since he's not here. I will take nominations for vice chair for 12 school. >> I nominate Pam Rice. >> Pam Rice for vice chair. >> Does anyone have any other nominations? Hearing none and unanimous otherwise no comment will approve Miss Bryson and vice chair by motion Bryson take the r congratulations. >> All right. Also, board members, um, we have the approval of the November the 3rd board me meeting minutes, excuse me, that was emailed to you last week. You've had a chance to look at those. Have any questions, discussion, additions, deletions to the meetings? If not, I will take a motion to approve the November November 3rd board meeting minutes. A second. >> Second. >> Okay, we have a motion and a second. Um, all in favor say

I. >> All oppose say nay. All right, we have approved the November 3rd board meeting. Next on our agenda is the um November dispersements and those were emailed today um in your email from Miss Williams. So if you take if you haven't looked at them, take a second to look at those dispersements. Does anyone have any questions, concerns, or discussion? All right. I will entertain a motion to approve the November dispersements for board approval. >> Make a motion to approve. >> Okay. And second. >> Okay. We have a motion and a second. All in favor of approving the November dispersements, say I. I. >> All oppose, say nay. Okay, we have approved the November dispersements. Next, we have principal's reports. >> Good evening. >> So, I'll start with Ralph Asins. Um, we have a few

things coming up for the month of December. We will have our behavior field trips this month on the 15th and 16th. and we've chosen to go visit Lincoln Theater and watch a movie. So, the kids are really excited about that. On December the 18th at 8:15 in the morning, our kindergarten students are going to perform their annual Christmas program. So, we invite visitors out and parents out for that. Um, also have one more piece of news to share for Ralph Asins. About a week ago, I got a letter from the Department of Education that informed me that Ralph Asins has been identified as a reward school for the 2425 school year. And um this is due to our student success and their achievement and growth. And I just want to thank the teachers, parents, and

the students for all their hard work. And we're going to continue to put in hard work this year. So congratulations. Exciting news for our school and our school system. All right. I have a report from Miss Monty for the middle school. Um, this week at the middle school, it is basketball homecoming week and that game is going to be held this Thursday at 6:00 p.m. against RCA. They are going to have a winter formal that's also going to be this December, the Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. And the kids are excited about that. Um on December the 15th for that basketball game against Unity, we will be wearing our new pink and blue shirts to support Miss Maggie Warren. So you can come out for that. They are going to have their second quarter

behavior awards as well this month. And they're going to take a trip to the US Space and Rocket Center on the 17th. And on the 19th and 20th, they were going to have their performance by Mr. Hobs and his students. They're also going to host a chili supper and bingo night Friday the 19th from 4:30 to 6:30 and that's free for the students and that's going to be right before the performance. Okay. And then from Coach Parville High School, he would like to thank everyone that helped out with the Veterans Day program. It was a great program that honored our veterans. They had seniors that were able to visit MTSU um last month and they toured the campus and learned about all the different degrees that MTSU offers. And in conjunction with South Central Human

Resources, they have five students that are now enrolled in the Tennessee Youth Employment Program. And these students will be working local jobs that are being paid through the program. So that's pretty neat. They were able to celebrate seniors that either had a 21 or above or a three-point growth in an area on the ACT. Um, and they have 51 seniors that received that award. Um, their Beta Club students competed at the state Beta Convention and they had two students that were able to place in their competitions. At FHS, they will be having midterms this week. And we would also like to congratulate the FHS Tigers on their great season. Um, and coach Brody Quick on his first season as the head coach. Um, they did a great job. Basketball and swim seasons are currently in

full swing. Basketball team will have two home games this week. Tuesday versus Jiles County and Friday versus Cascade. That's what I have for the schools. >> Very tickled to hear about the reward schools. Yeah, very excited. Those [snorts] are hard to come by. >> Thank you. >> A lot of good work. >> Yeah, >> Thank you. Have a good night. >> All right. This is um the point where members of the public want to make comments to the board. We have anybody, Mr. Jones? >> No, we did not. >> Okay. So, we didn't have anyone who wanted to make a comment. So, next is our supervisor for the board, Mr. G. Hello. How are you? >> I'm good. How are y'all doing? >> Good. >> Great. Uh don't have a lot of things, but I

do want to go a couple go over a couple of things. Uh for the technology side of our department, everybody's upgraded to Windows 11, so we've got all that done. Uh some things that we're working on with that is we're working to increase our visibility on campus. We've added some new monitors uh and the SRO officers offices and we've had to adjust our cameras around, but we're doing a better job trying to capture as much of the campus and the buildings as we can with that. We're also working to increase our Wi-Fi capacity throughout the uh campuses. So, we've been working on those things. Uh on the student information side of what I do, uh of course, we're still in the state is still doing their transition from EIS to EDFI. So, we're in the

process of doing that and it's a new way that they're collecting data, all the all the demographic information and the scheduling, the attendance and all the other things that go into all that stuff. Uh, the state's collecting it a different way now. So, we're we're in the transition of doing that and it's going really well. Uh, the only other thing I was going to mention was our vendor that we use is called is named Skyward. I'm sure you've heard me mention that before. Uh, they're they're at this at this time of the year is when the state is getting ready to set contracts for next school year. So, they're going back and forth on some of the negotiations. negotiations on that. So, you might hear some some things going on with that, but where we

stand right now, everything looks like it's in really good shape. So, we're going forward as we go with that. So, if you have any questions about technology or any of those kinds of things that I can try to All right. And I want to brag on this guy right here, uh, Mr. Zach. He is he's awesome. We're very lucky to have Zach with us. And I love embarrassing Zack, too. >> I second that, but he's Zach's fantastic. fortunate to have somebody of Zach's ability >> to be able to work with us. >> Yes. >> Thank you both. >> Thank you very much. >> Steve's great, too. [laughter] >> We got Steve. >> I just around. >> Okay. Um, next we have the CFO report, Miss Williams. The financial reports were emailed earlier today and it's

the year-to- date revenue and expenditures through from July through November. And I'll tell you any questions you may have. [laughter] >> All right. All right. Thank you. All right. committee reports, facilities, and transportation. >> Um, everything's going pretty well. Uh, transportation, we're in the process of getting some buses fixed, but we're everything's running 100%. Uh, we haven't had any, uh, doubled up or delayed routes. Uh, we're one of the only systems, if not the only system in the state with a full complement of bus drivers for every route. U, we're very blessed in that regard. I'm proud of, uh, the work. A lot of good teachers have volunteered their their time before and after school to help with that. So, um it's a it's a really good situation. Also, with facilities, we're finishing up on

uh the paperwork to pay out all the payoffs for the front of the renovation there with the awning and uh the sidewalks. So, that'll be coming up in the next couple of weeks. Probably another big check going out um in relation to that, but still tickled to death. you know, uh, once something's installed, you always want to give it a minute to make sure, you know, it's holding up. It the work done there is the best work we've had on the project while I've while I've been around at city that I remember. We've had a lot of different things go up and a lot of things modified and adapted, but that is just I'm really tickled with it. So, um, we're still working on the, uh, purchased building across the street from FMS. Uh we're

hoping to have it renovated and in in shape for some offices and for some use that we'll have uh next semester at some point. So things are coming right along. Uh Coach Gman and his team have done a good job running fiber over there and uh everything's coming up roses right now. I'm proud. And [snorts] that is my report for facilities and transportation. Okay. >> Finance committee. Um, nothing major to report. Nothing changed since last month. So, just checking it off. Insurance and policy. >> You have several of us. >> So, the first one, I make a motion for approval of policy 1.121. Student board members on the first reading. >> All right. I have a motion and a second. All right. All in favor? >> All right. All opposed. Okay. That has been approved

on first reading. The next one I make a motion for approval of policy 1.407. The school district records on the first reading. Okay. I have a first a motion and a second. All in favor of approval policy 1.407. All right. All opposed. Okay, >> I make a motion for approval of policy 3.202, the emergency preparedness plan on the first reading. >> Thank you. >> Okay, we have a motion and a second. All in favor? >> All right, all opposed. Okay. Next, >> I make a motion for approval of policy 3.204, correct assessment team on the first reading. >> Second. >> All right, I have a motion and a second. All in favor of approval? All right. All opposed. Next, I make a motion for approval of policy 4.10 instructional program on the first reading. Thank

you. >> Okay. And I have a motion and a second. All in favor of approving 4.10. All opposed. All right. Next, >> I make a motion for approval of policy 4.301, intercolasticity athletics on the first reading. Second. >> Okay, I have a motion and a second. All in favor? >> All oppose? Okay, next. I make a motion for approval of policy 4.406, use of internet on the first reading. >> Second. >> Okay, we have a motion and a second. All in favor? >> All oppose? All right. Next, >> I make a motion for approval of policy 5.701, substitute teachers on the first reading. >> Thank you. I have a motion and a second. All in favor? >> All opposed? Okay. >> I make a motion for approval policy 6.4081 safer relocation of students from the

first reading. >> Second. >> Okay. We have a motion and a second. All in favor? >> All opposed. All right. We have approved nine policies for approval on the first reading. All right, Mr. Yeah. >> Okay. As we come coming toward the end of the the first semester, um looking back and I'm really pleased. Our building level administrators have done an outstanding job this year. Um we have very capable leaders and they're making good choices. Uh we've been blessed to have good applicants and so pretty much every job we want filled is filled. We'd love to have a another good Spanish teacher come along. Uh but in comparison um just [clears throat] school systems around the state, we're in a good position. Um always looking for new good talent, but we're happy to have the

people that we've got. Uh a lot of people working hard and I think it's panding [clears throat] around in the buildings. I'm seeing good organized structure. I'm seeing a lot of learning. I'm seeing kids who are happy to be at their buildings and teachers who are uh giving their best to the students every day. So, I want to commend everybody on a really, really outstanding first semester. We'll try to keep that momentum going into the second semester and finish out the year like that. But, uh, I I could not be more pleased with the start to this year. Um, congratulations to all of the teams. Um, fall sports is now wrapped up. Uh, we are in officially in winter sports. And uh for people who aren't really familiar, winter sports actually starts while fall sports

are ending. So there'll be a little bit of a segue for our teams in middle school and high school. Uh some of the young people who are on a fall sport will now be coming into a winter sport and it will take them a week or two to get into the adjustment and the conditioning for the new sport. And then we'll really, you know, really after Christmas, we'll see what our teams are looking like. But uh great participation still um outstanding, you know, hard work going on by all all students involved. I know, uh one of middle school basketball teams is having a really good year. Another one's struggling. Uh but I'm I'm excited to know that they're they're a very young team and these struggles will pay off later on as we've seen uh

Boise last year was going through the struggles and they're they're doing much better this year. So, uh, I commend everyone on their hard work and I appreciate them. I just want to take a moment to let everybody know, uh, that we're very proud of all of our Tigers. Um, I don't have anything else to report other than, uh, an update on the FEMA. Grant [clears throat] had a meeting just before we went on Thanksgiving break uh with some people at FEMA and when I'm asking them specific questions about when they are submitting some of the paperwork that we've had um they weren't able to give me dates. So that's concerning to me um because if we wind up in a hold for too long we'll have to go through this whole cycle again. It's been

six years I've been working on this. So, uh I'm I'm frustrated at the same time. Uh this isn't, you know, new information or entirely surprising, but I will be having a meeting uh this week hopefully uh if not then next week with the assistant director of TEMA uh to kind of flesh out some of the specific dates and where some of the um issues are with them meeting their deadlines. Uh which They're continually missing deadlines puts us behind our deadlines, which makes it untenable when we have to restart application. Um, I don't know that that's we're going to have to do that. I just want y'all to know that I was hoping they sent me a draft of a contract to sign, but I could not sign the contract because the information they put information

in there that they haven't met their requirements for their deadlines. So, I'm not going to assign anything that's on the basis to something that they're promising that they don't have given because they haven't met their deadline. So, we're trying to get all that sused out. Hopefully that it'll work out and then maybe I'll be able to give you all good news in the next month or two that it's worked out. But that's where we are. >> Okay. Sounds good. Okay. Next on our agenda, we have um approval of a resolution for food service appreciation day. So, I'll just read a little bit um of the um resolution. She says, "Whereas the food service workers in our school system play a vital role in nurturing students by preparing and serving nourishment nourishing meals that fuel both

academic success and personal growth. These dedicated individuals begin their workday before the school doors open, ensuring that students and staff start their days with well-prepared, balanced breakfastes and lunches. Food service workers contribute meaningfully to the educational mission by partnering partnering with school staff to promote a healthy, supportive, and effective learning environment. Their commitment to excellence and reliability supports the daily operations of our schools and reflects their deep care for the well-being of every student. So, I make a motion that we um designate January 8th, 2026 as food service appreciation day in all Beville City Schools. Okay, I have a motion and a second. Any discussion, questions, concerns? All in favor say I. All >> oppose. Okay. So, it has been approved that January 8th has been designated as food service appreciation day. Okay. Our next

board meeting is scheduled for Monday, January the 5th, which is the Monday, first day after break. Is that okay with everybody's schedules? Will everybody be here? You won't. Oh, you won't be here. You have [laughter] been excuse me. What about you? Okay. So, we'll go ahead and schedule Monday, January the 5th as our next schedule board meeting. If anybody anything changes, we'll let you know. Does anyone else have anything? Anybody from the board? Any questions, comments? If there's nothing else, we shall stand a journ. >> [snorts]
