And now for this meeting of the county board of education order we please stand. We will have a prayer welcome Mr. Edge and the pledge of belie. >> Let's pray. Father heaven thank you for this day. Thank you for each blessing that you give us. Help us to realize that all good things come to you. Watch over our students and our employees. Help us to do the very best for them and for our community. We pray in your sweet name. Amen. >> Amen. >> I aliance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under indivisible with liberty and justice for all. >> Miss roll. Mr. Hyatt. Miss Ken here. Miss Arnold here. Mr. Hedge >> here. >> Mr. Mills, Miss Douglas >> here. Mr.
Marks >> here. >> Mr. Blue, Mr. Doran >> here, >> Mr. Marcus >> here, >> Mr. Livingston >> here, >> Mr. Wyers here, >> nine present, three absent. With nine present, a quorum has been established. Next on our agenda is approval of the agenda. Along with that is approval of the consent agenda which includes approval of November minutes. Approval of substitutes pending background checks, approval of an overnight script for CHS band students selected to participate in the West Tennessee Honor Band at UT Martin in January of 2026 and approval of Bethany King and Mike Douglas as bus drivers pending background checks. >> Can we approve tonight's agenda? We have a motion and a second to approve the agenda as well as the case agenda. All in favor of approving these, please say I. >> Any
opposed? Please say no. The eyes have it. The agenda and the consent agenda have both been approved. Next on our agenda is approval of the mowing bid for the 2627 um school year. If we can get a motion and a second. >> I'll make a motion that we approve guy outdoor service. >> I'll second it. >> We have a motion and a second to approve guys outdoor services for mowing in 26 through 27. Mr. K, would you like to say anything? >> Yes. since uh that alternate bid since we u had a change of maintenance committee and they needed a little assistance. Um John Michael had been mowing Big Sandy School. So we just went ahead and put that in there. We'll make that final decision when we work on the budget this spring. But
um John Michael been doing this for two years. Um very little increase is actually less than 3% from his bid two years ago. There's also a clause in the bid that if he does not go up, it can go another year. So, so I highly recommend that you accept this then alternate one. >> Alternate one and two and then we will make a decision on two when we work on the budget. Any further discussion? Um, if there's no further discussion, we will vote. Remember, we are voting um to accept the um bid for guys outdoor services for the mowing um for the 2627 school year. Miss Michel, please call. Miss Kennan, >> yes. Miss Arnold, >> yes. >> Mr. Hedge, >> yes. >> Miss Douglas, >> yes. >> Mr. Marks, >> yes. >> Mr. Thornton,
>> yes. >> Mr. Harus, >> yes. >> Mr. Livingston, >> yes. >> Mr. Wyers, >> yes. >> Would anyone like to change their vote? Nine. Yes. With nine yes, bid has been approved. >> Next on our agenda is approval of the budget resolutions. Motion to approve. >> Second. >> We have a motion and a second to approve the budget resolutions um as they are printed in our packet. >> You have any discussion or >> the explanation? >> The in the special ed we just moved some more funds into instructional supplies and materials and we moved that from other salaries and wages because unfortunately we have some funds there that were budgeted. So, we decided was an easy place to move it. And then that insurance recovery um a little late, but it was from the
hell damage that we've seen in school. We'd already made all those repairs, but when we did get an insurance recovery check and and then that's just a that grant just a health grant that these cy towns and school have received. And I will tell you Shauna and the rest of board that that $8,000 the majority of that has been spent. If you drive by county academy, there's a they built bought a building and they put HDAC system in there electricity and that's where they can harvest. So that's what they have that pickup spot. So it's really been beneficial for our students and their families. Any further discussion on these? >> If there is no further discussion, we will vote. Miss Miss Shelley, please call. Miss Kennon, >> yes. Miss Arnold, >> yes. >> Mr. Hedge,
>> yes. >> Miss Douglas, >> yes. >> Mr. Marks, >> yes. >> Mr. Thornton, >> yes. >> Mr. Hargus, >> yes. >> Mr. Livingston, >> yes. >> Mr. Wersy. Would anyone like to change their vote? Nine. Yes. Nine guesses. The budget resolutions have been approved. I think it's set, but it's time for >> um before teacher of the year, did we get in touch with the county recipients, Miss Miller? >> I did not. >> Okay. Okay. That's fine. No, it's not an issue at all. Um we did meet today and we do have the um county winners, but we have not had time to contact them. So, I'll let you know Thursday at our retreat. But congratulations again to uh Glenda Hicks, which is Canon Elementary teacher of the year, Erica Johnson at Briwood School,
Brianna Taylor at Big Sandy, Lorie Eaton at Camden Junior High, Sarah Kenuzi at CHS, and Macy Fur at Holiday Elementary. Congratulations to those teachers. Um, also put in your packet an agreement with TLM. Um, they will be here Thursday to go over um, um, elementary school proposal, but they did come last week and um, Drew Lashley and Jerry Hartsfield and Gina King and TLM. They just did me the new contract if they do work to putting a proposal and we've had an AIA agreement for years with them, but that's just to update that. It kind of gives you the hourly rate of the architects in place you want to go back to school. But anyway, um I just need an approval of that. I think a voice will be fine, chair, but I would like
we need to have that approved. Um >> I'll second. We have a motion and a second to um approve the amendment to the professional services agreement. Any further discussion on that? >> If not, we will go. Miss Michelle, will you please call? Oh, never mind. Voice. I'm sorry. All All in favor of approving the amendment to professional services agreement, please say hi. >> Any opposed, please say no. Eyes have it. We have approved that amendment. >> Next thing in your packet, I put a letter from the Department of Education for correction action plan. And you'll see at the bottom that uh that it's closed in the monitoring period as glad to answer your questions. That was correction action plan that we submitted to the state and that has closed that has been closed by the
department. And then also Mr. Phelps and Mr. Brantley each quarter have to put a threat assessment. Um they have to file a report to the state and that's in there for you. And it's it's pretty simple. Plan accord has any threat assessments that would be in and then um how many of those are considered threats and then if there is what happened and then those that were dismissed. I thought it would be easier if you just have the plan and then if you have questions feel free to let me know. Okay. Fall planning is um Thursday from 2 to 6. I I did put an agenda in your packet. Uh Bobby Cox notified me today that he's no longer ESG. I just told him I'd show y'all the proposal. I think Chair Kenan also um
had talked to someone about possible proposal for LED lights at a statement. This just something you look at and then um Miss Miller and Mr. Armstrong and the rest of the team's going to go over the data, the report card data, accountability data for on Thursday and then um Marty Spears will be here with the Tennessee loan and they've got a new breakdown of what the new school would cost based on our meeting and then breaking that down and then TLM will be here uh to go over the changes and any questions you may have with the committed proposal to the elementary school. And then I've also asked Mr. Baylor just to for 10 or 15 minutes just to show you the camera system. So he'll kind of see what's out there and how our
administration and so and he's planning on being here 2 to 6. Dinner will be here at 5:30 and we should should be finished by then. I did email TSBA about possible dates for spring planning. I thought um that went pretty well last year and then Tor said he would be doing the training. Um I've got several dates, but they had two in February and I thought that might be popular because the weather hadn't changed. We're we're pretty much out of seasons. We could have a basketball game but probably not. And the two um there's actually three dates or four dates in February. The 12th, the 19th, the 26th, which the 26th of Tuesday, or the 28th on a Thursday. Now, there there's also March the 17th, but I thought the board might prefer February because
we usually are everybody's rain by then. >> What day is it going to rain? >> Ain't that the truth? Uh we would probably start about two and go to um or one. We have start time right there. >> Oh, I know >> if we can predict the rain, we can't. But anyway, we can talk more about that on Thursday. What what I would encourage you to do is go to the TSBA website and look at board retreat options. Um I think Ben will tailor that. So, if you wanted to do bits and pieces, I think he would. Um, also, obviously, that'll be right during the middle of the legislative session. So, I thought I might have him do a little bit of, you know, maybe an hour of what's going on in the legislation. I'm
sure he would do that. So, um, if y'all want to wait, I told him we were having our board retreat on Thursday. So, if we want to wait and set a date, that's fine. We'll meet. I think it'd be good to get it on the calendar and then have that scheduled. I mean, is there any any date that stands out to to y'all? I figured you'd prefer a Thursday. >> Yes. >> Over a Tuesday. >> Um, high school baseball starts the end of February. So, the beginning of February. >> So, how about the 12th or the 19th? Anybody have a problem with the 19th? >> I think we're okay. >> I will email Ben and try to get that confirmed tomorrow and then I'll let y'all know on Thursday. >> Um, the band Christmas concert
is December the 11th. That's next Thursday at 700 p.m. in the CHS gym. It is worth your time to come if you if you and then I I had the opportunity I think I've talked to most of you. I spent about an hour and a half with Mr. Height um before Thanksgiving and he sends his love and prayers and just continue please keep Mr. Height in your prayers and he he's he's fighting hard. So that's all I have unless you have any questions. on the material each with this tomorrow. Will they have some blueprints or >> Yes, they have a little more concrete than what was on >> a little bit. I think they more questions. Of course, I think I mean the other thing is they really want us to go look at a
school. And of course, you know, we mentioned Gibson County the last time, but time flies and they said that's 5 years old now. And so I think the closest um is Largeburg, which that's um that's a pretty good hall that we could uh we could make arrangements to go visit that. And if there's something Mr. Marks you'd like for me to have them do, I'll be glad to email them. And but we have them for about an hour. So I think they'll be able to answer questions. And um there there there's some things we looked at it with supervisors that you know there's some things that we would like to move around if it becomes a reality and they understand that. >> Well, I think that you know staff input is going to be >>
Yes. Yes. Of course, sir. I hope so. Okay. That's all I have. >> All right. Um.
