This week's shout out goes to the Village Burial Ground Working Group, a dedicated team of volunteers working hard to restore the historic historic 1828 cemetery behind
003the Federated Church in Ashland. led by Warren Walkup, Kate Jerksick, Janet Platt, and Kathy Rooney. The group has repaired and restored numerous headstones, including those of Civil War veterans, many of which were buried or damaged. The Ashlin Boy Scouts also contributed by placing flags and medallion markers on veterans graves. Beyond headstone restoration, volunteers have cleared invasive plants, cleaned up the grounds, and invested hundreds of hours, often training on their own time.
