001and roll. Okay. So, as I said, there are two writing candidates. So, potential, you have to pick one for the two-year planning seat. And some Basiva, is that how you say the full name? So, but we're going to call you Sam. Sam, okay. But they have to put in So, Sam is running also for the two-year planning board seat that is empty on your ballot. So, when you go in to vote, you have to either write in Sam's name or Scott's name and make sure you then fill in the circle next to the name that you've written in, otherwise it does not count. So, Sam, what made you decide to run for the planning board? Yeah, so I've been in Ashland for a couple of years now, and then uh I know my kids are
002grown up. Both of them are out and then doing their jobs. And I thought this is a good time for me to give back to the community. And then if if possible get some bring some new fresh ideas and some novel ideas if it is possible and then the main thing was to give back to the community and then learn more about what the planning board does. Uh I would have volunteered for any one of the uh community boards but I just came to know that there was an open position here and that I could volunteer for. So So what is your what is your background that you think you can bring to the planning board position? So I my background is in science. I'm a scientist by training. So I've been always been creative.
003I've worked in academia and then also in industry now. I still continue to work there so I can bring more creativity and novelty to the committee. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Well, I'm going to recommend and I don't know what's going to happen today, but should this not work out for you, I would definitely recommend looking at the website to see what opportunities there are because we sometimes look for people on board of health or even some of the other committees that are not elected like this is, but that are appointed. So, um, as I always tell candidates, if if you run and it doesn't work out this time, get involved, stay involved, and there's always a place for volunteers here in town. Absolutely. That's the plan. That's the plan. and I will continue to do. It
004doesn't matter whether it's Scott or me, whoever it is, but if I don't get in this time, I will continue to work uh whatever I can for the town. Great. Well, Sam, it was very nice to meet you. I expect to see you a lot more now. Um and good luck today. Thank you very much. You're welcome. Appreciate it.
