My name is Hi Silver and today I'll provide you with a quick update on the latest happenings in Ashland as highlighted in the town manager newsletter. The downtown fire station re-imagined. The former downtown fire station at 151 Main Street has been transformed into Clover Road Brewing, bringing new life to the space. The brewery, which opened just before St. Patrick's Day has quickly become a popular gathering spot with decor honoring the fire station's history like firefighter gear and repurposed fire hoses. The space offers craft beer, cider, and wine, plus live music and food trucks every other week. Proposed local historic district. This week's community shoutout is remembering Ed Bates. This week, the Ashlin community honors the late Ed Bates, a lifelong

003resident dedicated to public service. From 1982 to 1987, he served on the select board and was a key member of the Charter Review Commission. His advocacy extended to the Metropolitan Area Planning Council where he championed community development projects, most notably the Route 126 Pond Street project. Ed played a pivotal role in securing a historic commitment from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, ensuring state funding for the project after the town covered initial design costs. His dedication to this initiative never wavered and his leadership was instrumental in bringing it to fruition. Beyond his civic contributions, Ed was known for his kindness, optimism, and unwavering commitment to Ashland. His legacy of service continues through his family who remain active in the community. Ashland is a better place because of Ed Bates, and he will be deeply missed. For
