I think everybody can hear us. That'll move us on to strategic planning. All right. So, we're going to move on to strategic planning which is going to be presented by Ash. I present.
We are finally misspel. strategy and then early January employees and meeting action for January, February and March and that process of those plans to original back in November. Now we are here every day. We have control later on in the presation. All you will segments. Fantastic. I'm sure these beautiful ties everything together in the action plans and strategies that your wrote. Oh yeah. impact and things that moment. for the little strategic meeting in that two-day retreat and the mission which is what the very beginning of your meeting tonight. And those particip Okay. and they're trying to actually teach those as well as the attitude post And so let me just learned whether providing extra career opportunities especially

I think our is that the strategy is specific results really lay out some detailed efforts for the district including things like face to face professional communication as well as branding efforts and marketing efforts. Then the people who been assigned to implement the plans would give a presentation report if you will to the strategic. Amen. The last statement from Steven and our organization is one in which individuals have acknowledged the skills, desire and opportunity to personally succeed in a way that leads to collective organizational success. I think that's what you have here. It's a great strategic plan. We have a lot to work with and I am happy from this point forward whatever I can do but it is all importance and also questions. No, I just want to say thank you to you Ashley. uh we could not be where we are today in April starting
in October without the tremendous support helps you provided uh along the way and so thank you thank you so much for that I do feel like this will be a busy 3 to 5 years with this so these are really tall asks um some of them are not something we can even start this year but other ones we can start right away and some of them we've already started like the communication piece and a couple others and so I feel like it's to where we want to be as a district. What I've heard from the community over the last 8 months is we want certain things out of our ISD that we had in the past while also providing some opportunities we haven't had cuz we'll have some some of those things help grow and
uh so it's really exciting time to be here at not only for me but our admin team members and students will have lots of opportunities but we're not going to forget to focus on the student their individual needs and the relationships. So, I'm really excited about this plan and I want to say thank you. Thank you for the opportunity and let your people wonderful. I very much enjoy that. I appreciate that very much all of you. >> Thank you very much. So that moves to title the financial monthly financial reports. Mr. There it is. Good evening. We have the March financial highlights. And the month of March was a relatively low activity month, but just to go over some of the highlights starting on page 29 um on those statements, we have total ending balances
for all of the NASD accounts 26,38,479.31. the material changes within those accounts. Um the general operating investment account decreased by $990,000 and that was just um transferring that over to our general operating paying our monthly bills. Our debt service account at Lamar increased by $87,4225. That was just collecting the taxes. And then our March 2023 bond account decreased by $69,2964 paying out some of those bond invoices. And our total interest earned for all accounts was $85,680.87. Going on to the next section is the tax collection update on page 31. Um update on that we for our maintenance operations and tax revenue we are 99.69% 69% collection on our budgeted taxes and on our INS we collected 114 and 98% of our budgeted revenue for that. Onto the budget summary on page 32. Um budgeted revenue
is at 108%. So we collected more than what we budgeted and then expenditures are just at 79.12% that we budgeted total. So we have um 3 months remaining for this year. So, we're tracking all to where we need to be. And then to end it for our financial highlights, we have on page 43 the investment report. And that's for the period of January through March for all 12 of accounts. And it's just that same activity that you see monthly um but just 3 months a question. >> Questions? Thanks. on communications director. >> Yes, I have the enrollment update on page 47 under you'll see that we have 1,161 students as of April. uh 93% of the ADA is what we calculated our budget on which was 1072. We're tracking above that currently at about 1095
and so that's what we currently are. Any questions about the enrollment update we have our principal reports Mr. Bart for that time of year with testing. We had our biology today great job. Last week we did English one and English two history. So we had left a couple weeks. Then we also have AP testing uh first couple weeks in May as well. So getting all that wrapped up kind of get the seniors still focused here time of year difficult but now we're done today over some of the final dates procedures and so we'll be with them again probably another week or two but let's just try to wrap it up with those guys a few groups to to brag on we got so many going right now they fell just short at the regional tournament
they had a had a good year they were So we're excited about about them. Both our boys and girls track team. I think it's the six time girls. I think the boys have won the area for the last 6 years and both are pretty girls. It's going to be exciting to watch for for a while. So excited about them. And then both both team region girls finished second push on too but both of them advanced as well and against the other crazy the top 15 district makes it pretty pretty fun pretty competitive so right now where we have to do that. So pretty closely and we'll be getting the final season after that. And then the boys have next week and that will we should be okay in the district baseball. We'll make that run
as well. We took some CD teams uh last week. all five teams that we took which include the farm business team uh and the business management farm business management all for state with their projects they did so that's pretty exciting for our department as well those guys don't get recognition there we think our coaches are great teachers on the road and they're maintain what they do in the classroom That was pretty impressive. So we also follow the students USA competition and once again state and we also had she was nominated as one of the district officers for that group. So I wanted to say thanks to uh give foundation for those 13 scholarships to our seniors. That's it. That's it. We truly appreciate that. So, thank you. and we have seniors scholarship present. So that's
where we got competition. So we were 3 months out of this championship this year. That's without having anything to speak competition. And so trust me, Miss McDonald, her team, she came home. We dominated day one. We were up like 160 points after day one. Um and finished second district by three points cuz we didn't have any two day two. That will be fixed. We will win it next year. So we're already that's what we got. Okay. So, um we're still sitting consistent touch. We're still at 2926% right now. So, pretty good for the year. Our systems are almost completed. We just have now this weekend next is headed to their first Thursday we had last week just so that's all happening. in another day concert also that we're excited about and the students are doing
instrument that is wanting to get into band try those instruments and kind of showcase how that's going and then ser competition to you guys in the weekly update. We just want to highlight that this girls has just done a really excellent job um our program. It was already great and she's just like stepped it up another notch with individual competitions and all these things the kids can get involved in. So, it's been really fun to watch. Thank you guys. All right, it's fairly short today. Our year-to- day attendance is 954% at 96 threshold over the last month since we met our 95.4 Uh since our last meeting we elementary school, second grade market day, which is always a big hit. The kids come down here come up with some really creative different things. Lots of
cookies that day, lots of cupcakes. Actually got a temporary tattoo from one of the students. So they come up with some interesting ideas. They learn about capitalism, they learn about being entrepreneur. It's a great activity that that we get to do every year. Uh we also had our GT egg drop project. So we got to test out the the new roof in the courtyard and um the kids had a lot of fun doing that. Uh we had several different Easter egg hunt Easter egg hunt and then we had our Easter egg hunt up that old playground that way. Um, thanks to transportation for getting us over there and all was kind of wet and rainy and Mrs. Man did a great job. Uh, scramble to make sure we had buses for that Easter time. So,
thank you. Um, we are first grade uh Dallas trip recently. So, the kids have done a a lot of research and writing an animal that the teachers move that they have on exhibit. Um, and so they got to to work on their writing, do the crosscurricular science, then go and get to see those animals. Um, so for a lot of kids, that's just a really big deal. They get to do that. Um, cuz a lot of them haven't been to the zoo before. Right before our last watch kick off a band at Shman's building and so we had that start signing up and we had a dad in today. Um, so that's a great thing to have those dads be on campus, be that positive role model for our kids. Um, last week we completed
our third, fourth, and fifth grade uh, reading star test. Tomorrow we have our fifth grade science and then next Tuesday we have our third and fifth math star test. And I don't know if I mentioned this, but our hiring is completely done, which is something that we're very happy about. Um, I think the only teacher we had leave was one who's retiring next time in kindergarten. So, she'll be greatly missed, but we we're staffed up in April, and that's a very good thing from an HR standpoint. Uh, on the horizon, we have we'll be participating in the April 28th Neon Light Show that mentioned earlier. Our kids have been working very diligently on to create some really unique pieces. So, I think you'll enjoy that quite a bit. Um, we have our different uh field
trips coming up. We have field day on May 7th. Um, and our class parties on the last day of school. That's my report. All right. So, for house bill today, I'm presenting on kindergarten uh which is reading short-term objective 1.2. This one is based on star test. This objective is based off of their end of the year level. So at the end of the year last year, our current first graders were at 70%. So that's what we set as our baseline goal for in class. So the blue are first graders from last year and the orange is our beginning year and middle year for our current kindergarten. So at this point last year this sorry for the winter administration in class. Last year the kids were at 51% this year at 52%. Uh they started
the year at a higher level. Uh to dig a little bit deeper, we ran looked at the map data and so this shows the map data for those two classes where they were in the top two which are the numbers you've seen for the other three levels. Uh and so they went up to I think it was 54 uh% of them were the top two quintiles. Now if you go to the next slide there we talk about the norms changing this year. So manually adjusted it for some other show you actually didn't change very much from 2020 to 202 didn't change for kindergarten. So that gives me good confidence that we're we're right where we need to be with kindergarten. The math scores are going up and we're at a higher point last year than
we were in class. So I feel confident we're in the right direction based off the data we have available. All right. Any questions on that? You're welcome. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Yeah. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Yeah. Heat. So that's that's all action items last second. We'll see that again. No question. cover. I'm sorry. We have one science test and math three coming up this weekend. Next week will be start from here. Um we do have our end of the year testing underway. So we're doing our math testing our kindergarters and then in class with our K12 which is their reading uh test end of the year. So that'll be going on the next couple weeks and then the high school AP exams like Mr. Martin spoke about the
first two weeks of May. So we're almost at the end of the testing um that we have to do every year. Um and then hopefully in the next uh few weeks we'll be able weeks um we're going to be looking at our structural materials getting all that um based on our new framework and so we're going to work on that already and talks with training and getting somebody in there to help us with that implementation of those resources. So we'll be doing that hopefully next month we'll have share on that. Um, and that's, you know, in our department right now, it's kind of that time of year where we're looking to see what we already have, um, and what we need to do for next year as far as resources and new things. So, that's
really what's kind of big questions. This is also working. She's working on the profession. We're not everyone should be back to us. So that's Yes. So by the next board meeting I should have some more information. We're trying to finalize um who are going to be how many we're going to need and how many teachers you know kind of down where we need to be hiring. We know who that is already pretty much. So we're able to start getting those numbers right so we can get enough mentors for the season right now. So thank you. Okay. So this kind of just address situation we use for maintenance and so I just want to give you just a brief operations pretty much 2008. We have transmissions maintenance issues to not any kind of long distance travels.
So we have right now as well as 2016 on a daily basis. We are running pretty much and we currently have to trans. So both so that trailer for T3 we purchased that used in 2019 miles and is the only vehicle that we have as a truck for this department right And then you'll see mechanics wise and student tracking technology. We don't have we don't have GPS to be able to get any situation where we have students that are using a car and we can track them. So that's kind of buses are struggling with our two police cars. We have the V1 which is our charger and B2 which is our silver doing very well but there's only um service. So shows you right where we're at and that's coming down again. So uh it's
just looking to see where we can start to interology maintenance doing district errors in our vehicles because we just don't have the fleet to be able to to support our staff and our students. So there's some recommend for some of our buses at which It's 2:00 night for us cash, for us, for us. So, those are some options we're looking into. The next station in the main detail information about our possible future department to build service for kids and not so much especially there is one area too where parents are running for as students are themselves be nice to get out of our because we should be able to provide information. So give you some numbers to kind of go over some options and then we can kind of see what works best for our
district. What you guys? Transformation. We have Heat. Heat. Yeah. This money can't use this in the district right now. We don't have operation until it's all done. We are transportation for these are very active students are all last because we don't have a waste of our resources. So my last is the upcoming meeting together. Now we have that building to approve the uh bids that were submitted for the high school restrooms and the administration building. We had all those bids that we opened up last week and we have already read those off. As we said earlier, I just applause to go through the best widers, lowest cost so that we can get the work done and save taxpayer money. And that's 9 hours will approve the order vendors. And then on the 18th, we have
our second of possibly three budget workshops right here at 5:00 p.m. followed by a 6 p.m. May board meeting on May 18th. And then after that, we'll have June 29th board meeting. Uh, graduation remember is on the 22nd of May at 8:00. That takes us on to the annual announcement of board trading credit hours. That's item six. Read just a quick passage in accordance with provisions of the Texas Education Code section 5 subsection B. A trustee must complete any training required by the state board of education. Minutes the last regular meeting of the board of trustees. before election of trustees must reflect whether each trustee has met or is deficient in meeting the training required. The trustee is the first anniversary of the date of the trustes election appointment. The minutes reflected a trustee is
deficient. The district shall post a district's internet website within 10 business days of meeting and maintain the posting until the trustee meets requirements. Also according to BDD legal the board president shall distribute the framework for governance leadership to all current board members and the superintendent. and you will find a copy of this information. The following board members have met or exceeded the required powers of the de education. Miss H, Mr. Johnson, Mr. Mer, Mr. Padet, Mr. Scott members who completed the special training requirement for legislative update to Texas education code. The training requirement is to be completed after each legislative session. Team building team of eight training required 3 hours annually required 5 hours annually additional training education. The following board members have not met the required hours of team education. Dr. 2 hours short,
but he's also retired. He doesn't care. So, comments on that. That moves us on to item seven, which is consent. If you have a chance to review that, there are a handful of items on consent agenda items. Does anyone wish to report or discuss any of the items? That'll take a motion. So just got a motion. Got a second. All those in favor say I. I. Any opposed? That moves on to item A which is the uh regular business. Item 8A is consider approval of the 2026 2031 strategic plan. Um as presented earlier by Dr. Stewart, we are excited about the strategic plan. We feel like it will really move our district from where we are currently into the future. provide exactly what not only our students but our community needs out of the ISD.
So, um I would ask that the board would approve that as it's presented. Any questions? One more question. >> Yes, sir. Uh is it part of the plan to have recurring annual update mentioned? I know mention nice to have that's our plan is to get back. I don't feel like we don't measure. It's something we're going to pay any attention to. We didn't go through the hundreds and hundreds of hours with 125 plus people in the community just to put this thing on a buyer on a shelf. And so absolutely we'll have at least a manual update on it. I like a Texas house scorecard approach and so it'll all be listed clearly on a uh one page document and show you where we currently are and attaining each goal and it'll have another page
to drill down those results and so you can expect that manually at least questions or comments. I'll make a motion. I'll make a motion to approve this. So a motion second Dr. Harris. All those in favor say I. I. Any opposed? Passes. AB consider approving to adopt. Consider to adopt the blue path curriculum. There's information about the blue math curriculum on page 132 and beyond. U. We used a team of math experts on our staff, the teachers who teach math all the way from elementary to the high school. We asked them to vet different high quality instructional materials. In the end though, it has some flaws which many of them are being vetted currently. We feel like the best decision for ISD with the added support we'll have with instructional coaching and everything else that
we get with Blue Bonnet is the best decision for us. And with this decision, we'll have a streamline curriculum tender through uh 11th grade, 10th grade depending on the what the students are taking all the way to 2 eventually. And so uh we're excited about streamlining this and adopting math grade on it. So, uh, I'd ask that you would approve that so we can get started getting the, uh, materials and training ready for next calendar year. Any questions? Motion got a motion. Second motion second. All those in favor say I. I. I posted it takes item 8 C consider approval of KFM engineering and design fee schedule total amount of 61,000 and approve the superintendent negotiate and sign the agreement. So this is the 120 acres that we own off of JC Maples. Currently um
when we purchased it, it was slated to be our high school site. We looked into through uh several different civil engineers how much it would cost to get water, sewage, and everything to that side. We decided that that would be not a good use of our taxpayer money because it's several million dollars. And so, uh we feel like the new high school will be better at another location. What that is, we have some ideas and we're working with realtors now, but we need to improve this land before we turn around sell it because that's our best investment for the ISD. So, what we'd like to do is to work with this uh engineering design team at KFM to uh create this kit with the county and that cost to do that is 61,000. Um once
we do create the pit and turn sell, the net profit will be substantial well above the pay to get this. So I'd ask approve this as I'm move a second. All those in favor say I. I opposed passes. Item 8. Consider approval to join the TB energy cooperative by board resolution uh number seven in the interlocal agreement. There is a board resolution in your packet that will be passing on page 156 for this. Um this is what Mr. was talking about this does not tie us to anything currently with us. A resolution allows to return agreement so that we can lower the cost of fuel and other energy costs that are available through task and this cooperative will pull together and whenever it's currently like it is the cost being so high we can lessen
those impacts in the future. So we' ask to get approve this resolution to pass energy quality motion. A motion second. All those in favor say I. I. Opposed. Passes. Item A consider approval of the H East audit firm for the 2025 2026 school year. Okay. Our auditor last year we had to have a second audit done. As people who are staying on it understand we had a junior auditor who wasn't done right. I have seen come back and fix their mistakes. Uh currently that's why it's taken so long for us to pay an offer for this next year is because we were seeing if they can finish it. They have they've done it well. We know where we stand currently. So we are asking to continue that for another year. We'll see how they do
next year and moving forward out of that. We'll just uh make a decision after this next year uh based on the results of how they do this this year coming up. So I ask that the board would approve uh my recommendation of Henkins East firm for the 2526 square motion motion second. All those in favor say I. I opposed item passes. This will move us to item nine which is executive session. And the bill will now all we have is the last motion the last item. This is a list of contracts. We'll have another motion later. All right. Is there a motion to approve the superintendent's recommendation regarding employment and contract status for classroom teachers coaches for the 2026 2027 school year? Any discussion? So move. Got a motion. Got a motion to second. All
those f say I. Any opposed with that motion? Sure. Heat. Heat. Yes. No one. Heat. Is this one also being? >> Yes.
