001You know, I have my grandbabies here in Del Valley. So, when I told her you know, Dr. Gutierrez said that he was every student here was a Gutierrez. So, I go, "You know, your last name is Gutierrez." And she goes, "Huh?" >> [laughter] >> My passion is in education. I've been part of the community for over 20 years, and Del Valley is my not only my home, but my family. What do I love about DVISD? Everything. How far we've come, but then you go to the possibilities of where we're going and where we're going to be. >> [music] >> It's great. It's It's just I can't even describe it. It's There's so much potential. And I feel like we are finally capturing that potential. Seeing one of my former [music] cheerleaders become homecoming queen. And

002seeing the excitement of my daughter and, you know, all of the family members that we kind of grew together. See [music] her from 11 to senior and it was great. It was a great memory. I'll never forget when there was an admission fee that I could not pay for one of the colleges that I applied to. And a teacher paid for it. She pulled out her credit card and said, "We're going to pay for this admission fee and so you can go." And cuz she believed in me and here I am [music] years later on the board. I love most the diversity. I love that every kid, every time has the opportunity to to be seen with equity. The community for sure is my favorite thing of DVISD. Um it reminds me a lot about

003how I grew up. I see myself in in [music] our kids a lot of times. That's my favorite part of the community, the heart that these kids bring, um their smiles. Yeah, the community for sure. The kids are awesome. >> [music] >> Um they're amazing. Um they leave and do phenomenal things. Seeing someone I say finished products, but what they turn into adults uh to be able to have any part of that as a school board member is something that is awesome. Pairing [music] the sense of belonging that has always existed in Del Valley with a real strength in academics. I think that we have a chance to really >> [music] >> grow what we can offer and do things that are not happening anywhere else in the state. Our petch kids or ATB sweet

004and sassy mix. >> [laughter] >> I mean, as long as I can eat everything. Um I do not discriminate on the snacks. So, as long as I got something to snack on and probably a soda around 9:00 at night, I'm good to go. >> I go for Snickers or the Cheetos um and coffee. Would be ice cream. It's awful. I'm really trying not to eat so much of it, but I really do and it's cookies and cream is my favorite. Chocolate candy and Coke Zero. If they have the chocolate cake that they have tonight, that is my favorite late late time snack, cake balls. But they should double [music] it because they're cake balls and everybody just eats them. That would definitely be the popcorn. Butterfingers. Hands down, Butterfingers and Almond Joys.
