001I'm Jason Sierra and I am new to the board. So, I just started a couple months ago. I decided I want to be on the school board because we've had a great experience in DBISD with our kids and I want to make sure others also have that same experience, same access to uh resources, uh to a great education, to great educators. The thing I love about DBISD is the sense of family and belonging. uh the community and the schools have really wrapped themselves around our kids and made sure they had what they need. One of my kids was diagnosed with dyslexia and he had an incredible teacher and she just showed up for him and she like called us and made sure that we knew what was going on and that we knew how to support him. Within about under 2 years he had graduated from the dyslexia curriculum. Uh thanks to her support and her hard work and hard work of that team. What excites me most about the future for our schools is pairing the sense of belonging that has always existed in Dell Valley with a real strength in academics. I think that we have a chance to really grow what we can offer and do things that are not happening anywhere else uh in the state. Uh my favorite late night meeting snack is probably either Sour Patch Kids or HB Sweet and Sassy Mix.
