001[Music] be a little bit big but this is yours too okay good job perfect [Music] all right okay this one first right [Applause] [Music] oh [Music] wait w make go away [Music] hello and welcome to around the clock's coverage of another make a wish here in Ashland we have another Ashland resident four-year-old Allan who got his wish granted today by our wonderful make a wish group here at the Ashen high school we are out front of the Warren school one of the elementary schools here in Ashen where Allen has been dropped off and there's still some great festivities to come celebrating Allan and his time working with Waste [Music] Management I I know everything you know everything so you're ask well I'm going to ask you something what was it like to drive the truck
002did you have fun driving the truck yeah but it was good we are now speaking with Lola Alan mom Lola what has this day meant for you um it's just been really really special to see um the outpouring of the community um Waste Management has been amazing um and just watching the kids sort of light up and being able to pretend like they're real trash truck drivers when he actually got to push the lovers how did that how did how do you think think he reacted um he he was sort of like he took it to task like he was like this is my job and this is how I'm going to do it it was really cute um cuz he F like he took it very seriously like he was he was learning how
003to do the real job which is it's really cool yeah yeah we are now speaking with Rich who was the driver of the WM truck Rich what did this day mean to you um it was exciting I'm like like I said I hope it made a difference in his life he wanted to do it and he seemed very excited to do it um well he was a little tired at first when I explained to him trash men get up very very early in the morning and he he had a snack and he was ready to go after that so so what did he actually help you do he dumped a whole bunch of recycling in the truck he get to flip the toter in empty the trash and crush it and he had a blast
004he had a blast officer Rani what is it like for you to participate in one of these make a wish days as always when it's a community event it's an hon wanted to be invited and and to part participate in these types of events especially a great cause like this so what was today like where did it start how much did you participate so we went out at 6:00 a.m. we met at 7 at West Boon headquarters of the waste management company and we developed a convoy and we drove 30 m an hour from West Boon to uh Ashland via Route 9 and uh lights and Sirens we went pretty loud went big this was such a special event for me me I mean we're so proud to be able to uh play a role
005in this uh wish granting ceremony so yeah now while we were standing I ran into Jake now we had met Jake probably five six years ago when he was a high school student and he saw this Jake what made you want to be here today I mean I saw the post and uh being saying that I joined this club eight years ago it's really crazy seeing how much we evolved and I mean I saw the post I couldn't miss a wish in my own Hometown it was really great to see this experience what this club has done for everyone in the town and each other and just it a great day overall we are now speaking with Sean hollerin he is the CEO of make a wish for Massachusetts in Rhode Island Sean how long
006have you been with make a wish uh it be four years in September great and what is the best part of your day as part of working for Make A Wish winess see what we just witnessed to see a whole Community come out for Allan and his family a child who's going through you know some serious uh significant illnesses uh and to see that Community come out and let him know and his family know that we got his back and give him a big hug uh and to create this experience that that uh we saw today it's just the best part of the job well that wraps up our story about this wonderful make a wish day for Allan and his family uh as y Grieves your host thank you for watching and if you
