the BSBA has sent down certificates. I would like to personally thank you guys for everything that you do for the county, for the teachers, for the students, for us here at the central office. We do appreciate what you do. Uh the first one goes to Miss Cynthia Compton and it simply says 2026 VSBA schoolboard appreciation month. From strong roots come endless possibilities. Miss Christy Perkins, Miss Linda Garrett. Mr. Tamall, >> Mr. Jonathan Eaton, aka JJ Mr. Kippy Parsons, >> Mr. Bob Gson. >> Let's get a picture. All right, >> also February is uh school board clerk week which is February the 17th. I don't have a certificate at this time but it will be coming forward for Miss Brick Web. [applause] >> She gets a whole week [laughter] >> with pay with pay >> with
pay. [laughter] Thank you Dr. Hooker. Thank you, Madam Chair, vice chair, members of the Russell County School Board. We have two recognitions u our teacher of the month and our employee of the month. And we'll start with our teacher of the month is Miss Aaron Scott from Cwood Elementary. She'll come forward along with Mr. Padet, the principal. [applause] I'm going to read the nomination. I would like to nominate Aaron Scott for the teacher of the month for so many reasons. The first reason is just her compassion and love she has for her students. She goes above and beyond for each and every one of them. I think Aaron does an excellent job recognizing our students who need additional support. She is always thinking of ways for us to help her students with diverse learning differences.
This is the first year I have got to co-e with Aaron in the same grade, but it has never failed. She's always been there to help me with anything that I needed. She always was there for support and to help me learn anything that was needed. She never made me feel like I was a bother to her. In my opinion, that is what also makes a great teacher because you can't have more great teachers without them learning from others. However, this is what makes Aaron stand out from all the others in my opinion. I lost my mother last week after a difficult battle with cancer, but the death still came kind of sudden. Aaron took over everything for me. I didn't have to worry about a single lesson plan, whether or not things were being
completed in my classroom or anything. She told me to take care of my mom in her last days and to take care of myself in the days after. Aaron is one of a kind and you don't find many like her. I know it's not reality, but I hope I get to teach with her as my partner for the rest of my teaching career because how lucky am I and how lucky are students to have someone so caring. [applause] >> Mr. Would you like to say a few words? There's really nothing very true. She really does go above and beyond everything to make sure that students that she had in the past or currently have families have food, power bills are paid, water bills are paid, they have the essentials closed. Couldn't ask for a better
asset to our [applause] This acknowledges that Aaron Scott Castwood Elementary has been named teacher of the month. [applause] >> Thank you. >> Congratulations. >> Thank you. Good to see you. >> Thank you for everybody to see. Yes. Okay, our next recognition is employee of the month and that goes to Miss Jennifer Music from Home Elementary School. [applause] Mr. Chad Davis Jen is one of the most selfless people you will ever meet. She is eager to pitch in and help whenever she can. She has done some of the hardest yet most rewarding jobs in our building with an everlasting smile. This holiday season, it has been laid on her heart to lead her school's community food drive. She provided over 500 meals to our students. Through her help, Honeker Elementary has been able to fill the
community blessing boxes on six different occasions. Jennifer is one of the many reasons Haker Elementary is so special. [applause] Mr. Davis, she is a team player where she said, she went above and beyond. >> That's great. Congratulations, >> [applause] >> This acknowledges that Jennifer Music Kaker Elementary School has been named support staff employee of the month. [applause] >> Thank you. >> How are you?
