001of them it is 6 32. I'm going to call this meeting of the Windsor Southeast supervisory Union to order um is Elizabeth here from the storm oh Nancy I know I didn't hear from Elizabeth okay there were several changes that we were going to do after our training um and I was hoping for her to coach me through it oh okay well I do know that Lloyd did change the format like of the agenda which we learned but I could muddle through it okay um are there any changes additions to the agenda which I will point out needs to be left to the minimum that's one thing we learned from the beginning hearing none public participation uh is not legally required but we believe it is crucial for us to hear from our community members
002about their concerns over issues through these meetings our board models for our students and how to conduct public discourse and that the board and members of our community can approach controversial issues in a civil and constructive Manner and can demonstrate mutual respect okay having said that please note that the board is here to listen the public comment period is not designed for discussion please start by identifying yourself and what town you reside in Mr warts I see your hand can you hear me thanks yeah um hear me my name is Dan wurtz um I'm a parent who lives in Windsor uh I saw and read through the equity audit that Insight education group um just recently finished I guess and I wanted to share a few comments about it um first of all I uh
003well over half of it if not more is just straight up copy and pasted from other audits that insight has done you can see this yourself one that's available online from Midland Michigan public schools so it certainly was an individualized to the district and almost the entirety of the recommended actions and the contextualization they've provided about the points that they were offering forward and recommendations were just straight copy pasted and they're on every other Equity audit that this group has put forward I'm sure they'll be there for the one that Springfield Vermont has coming up too so grains assault there anyway and there's also some kind of embarrassingly obvious typos in some of the assessment data and stuff and um and I I work with data a lot and the way they posted a lot
004of that data is it seems to be deliberately to be misleading or at least missing kind of important information like there's uh they put data percents for some demographics but they don't put the numbers that those percents are coming from nor if there's any statistical validity so there could be you know a zero percent for something but that zero percent could literally be pointing to one student and in some cases that's what the math points to um so anyway whatever it costs you you overpaid uh and it also didn't seem to include any of the critical commentary that uh I heard while myself participating in one of the parent parental focus groups um and then kind of more importantly as far as the actual data listed when you get to the appendices holy cow um
00515 of 8th graders are proficient in math 15 not 50. uh 30 of 8th graders and only 12 percent of males are proficient in English language arts 12 percent um jeez I mean with test results that bad you know what what is your job as a school board is it to ensure that your students are getting proficient levels of academic education and if that's your job 12 of male 8th graders being proficient is catastrophic failure um and I mean I don't know how you plan to remedy that but the solution is not doing the Dei work that this audit will point you and it's not hiring more Dei consultants and it's not adding more positions or as they offered adding school-based people or that's the activist trap that oh the problem is we don't we're
006not doing enough of this so we need more people to do more of the work and it's evidence of the problem don't fall into the Trap um I'm almost done and thanks for listening thus far this is it's kind of a nutshell and I'll I'll tie it to something else that's on your agenda a lot of parents are pulling students that I've heard from or moving out of the district totally out of desperation seemingly one parent noted this in tears at the last mountas County School District meeting uh and I saw later that you have the repeal of the coven vaccine mandate on the um agenda it should have never existed in the first place but it's a good example of what I would classify as an ideological total bubble that the whole Su seems
007to exist in the fact that that's even still there so in conclusion anyway I think it was the last board meeting maybe the one before Tony pick Romanos made some statements about equity in person and he's also previously shared a very very large Daniel Austin documentation so I hope you've had the I'm going to conclude here thank you for listening I hope you've had the chance to read that anyway um that would be the right direction thank you Daniel are there any other comments I I called out Daniel because uh that was that was three minutes plus um has everyone had a chance we're going to move on I don't see any other comments uh approval of minutes on May 22nd 2023 um has everyone had a chance to to read over it so second
008okay discussion on it comments we're back are you gonna help me uh muddle through this and sometimes it's all fine oh thank you reminded me that so it's to uh um Second and approve and then um saying there's no discussion all in favor of approving the minutes please say aye aye does anyone are there any Nays okay the abstentions any obsessions okay okay thank you oh did I I switched those around didn't I yeah dyslexia is a horrible disease you ready yes all right let's share my screen and let's see oops okay all right let me make it slideshow okay um I've got some help tonight because there are a few things um that were requested in the report tonight so I'm going to start and then um Tina Larry and Brittany and Angie are
009going to join in but we're going to keep to our 20 minutes that's our goal so keep us on track Bill okay um I wanted to share with you he sent out a survey to all staff in the supervisory Union I think two two and athletes go right before school ended we wanted to gather some information on staff satisfaction why are you staying um with Windsor Southeast advisory Union we found um lots of answers to that question and I'm going to share some of them with you tonight briefly okay I think it's right just takes a minute okay um and I'll just start by saying Tina helped devise this survey and has helped kind of extrapolate from it so we first asked what school do you work and what school do you work and we
010and we um broke down Windsor into high middle and elementary because we wanted to have the data from all those different grade levels we had 147 responses to the survey that was faculty and support staff members out of how many uh it's about half our staff I would say they took it and the first question was do you feel a sense of belonging in your workplace we know that's really important for staff retention people need to feel like they belong if they're part of a team so um not I think it's pretty positive 80 roughly 80 percent felt a sense of belonging but we do have some work to do because some people don't feel a sense of belonging the next question was around um whether or not the staff member felt that they had
011a voice in decision making so 22 roughly 22 percent said yes 52.4 said sometimes and 25.2 percent said uh no and what we didn't do um our mistake we did not ask the question um if if you were a teacher or a support staff member and that would have made a difference in the data so we will learn and do better next time [Music] uh do you spend time outside of the defined workday preparing for your job because that is something that we need to consider our staff are pretty are pretty um uh they're they're burnt out many of them so we're just trying to get at what what is causing that so 76.2 percent said yes 23.8 said no I am guessing that 23.8 is support staff there's typically not a lot of work
012outside of the work day for support staff although that's not the case across the board um if you answered yes to the question about working outside the work day we broke it down into zero to two hours three to five five to ten or ten or more um and so as you can see a significant number of Staff spend quite a few hours outside of the workday preparing for their job um how satisfied are you in your current role so one is unsatisfied five was extremely satisfied so we had a pretty um pretty good percentage of people that are kind of in the middle up feeling satisfied in their current role okay um do you feel supported in your current role we we definitely want our staff members to feel supported by each other Administration
013the board community and and a fair fair percentage um do feel very supportive in their current role we do have some work to do as you can see by the graph um we did ask during difficult interactions with parents or the public do you feel supported and 81.4 percent said they do well 18.6 said they did not feel supported so some work to do there and then we asked about the culture and we're always trying to improve the culture in our schools we aim for welcoming and collegial work environment please rate the culture in your school and as you can see um this is a negative culture so some people feel that their school has a negative culture a majority feel that it's relatively positive or very positive um we also collected comments I'm not
014sharing those with you tonight we asked comments relating to their job satisfaction we asked um and they could they could just type in comments um if you don't feel supported what do you need to feel supported so we had lots of comments there what has been your experience with parental and public interactions and what are some things we can do to improve the culture in your school so what I did with the data is I disaggregated it by school I gave each principal their own data their own comments and we spent a little bit of time in our staff meeting on Wednesday looking at that data they got to look at their individual school or grade level data if we're referring to Windsor and they set an action for next year to have it improve
015so I wanted to share that with you because we know in staff retention is is really important and I can get all the board Retreats so far came up as something that works really um interested in putting front and center so just collecting data around that um yes Discord or all Awards um I believe it came up in Heartland I believe it came up at well it was part of the equity audit results was around staff retention so I came up there in discussion as well um if I can figure out how to get back to my report Tina's going to share with you the next bit of data which is around um exit interviews so she's been compiling the information around why staff have left us so Tina I'm going to ask you to
016unmute and can you hear me yes thanks Tina yeah no problem um so yeah so I kind of tried to because the data that I had was again a lot of question based so one of the things that I did is I wanted to give you a baseline for some demographics for those that have left us and I won't share all the comments either but I did try to find some commonality within those comments to give us kind of like a broad picture of of where people are at and why they're choosing to either leave or you know some of them are even leaving teaching altogether so it's it's kind of like a it's a full circle um kind of process but um we had 37 exit interview requests with 20 responses some people just
017chose not to engage and that's totally fine I don't push the issue um but of those uh 37 22 of them were teachers this year 12 were support staff and three were at will and those three at will were mostly central office support staff folk um in various roles um and so as what I did is you could see that the total employee terminations by employer meaning each school district and the issue as a whole you can see where um the losses are happening most frequently in the Su as the employer so they have the highest uh with Mana scutney falling into second place Heartland and then Wethersfield um and then I broke it down a little bit more by building because the Su itself is skewed because there's people in all those different buildings
018right so of the Su um wide people as well as you know locally funded people uh 49 were Mount Ascutney as a whole and then you can clearly see that the next biggest was Heartland then Wethersfield and then the Su being the three people that I mentioned before um Tina yeah the question for you oh I can't hear you can you speak up a little Elizabeth okay you don't do you have any uh any breakdown of Mona scottney yep let me just get to my chart hold on and the second question and more important actually is these are it says total employee determinations by employer that doesn't mean they were fired no no when I say terminations I just mean they're not working for us some of them were um and you know they chose
019to leave some are retirement some are um you know non-renewals there's a whole bunch of different reasons it's just everybody that has left this year I've offered an exit interview and that's that this is the data that I was able to to get um let's see I do have it by building just give me one second all right so I have um so let's see of Mount Ascutney I had Mount Ascutney Windsor and West uh Albert Bridge as well as the Su and um Windsor for Albert Bridge as well uh let's see so out of the 37 uh Su employees that work in the Windsor building there was eight of them there was no Su um Albert Bridge employees that left we had a total of five Albert Bridge uh staff leave that are not
020as though we're not Su um employees that were actual Apple Bridge employees and we had six leave from Windsor thank you thanks Tina yep no problem um so then if we Christine could you pull up my next slide thank you so then this was the um reasons for leaving the question itself was what what prompted you to start looking for other employment and these were the general consensus that I got um compensation some of people were just non-renewed some people said there was no accountability among um behaviors for students and staff a poor work life balance like and that relates to what Christine had had shown with them working more hours outside of work um not being able to adequately balance their personal lives um a hostile work environment that one is that one is
021surrounded a little bit with some physical and I said physical and mental because there are some positions where they are put into situations where they may or may not get hurt and so some people were leaving because that's just not where they wanted to be um you know some of it when I said mental like there was one person who responded that you know with all of the active shooter trainings and all the stuff in the news it's starting to just wear too much on her and she just does she feels like she just can't do this anymore so I kind of grouped it into that I don't want people to think that it's hostile hostile but that's kind of the verbiage that I was um I could use and then you know as you
022can see retirement and personal that's pretty much the bigger the bigger section is we have people leaving because they're retiring which is how we want people to leave we want people to leave because they've you know they've met that that part of their lives but that's kind of the generic where we're at right now I'm going to continue to offer exit interviews going forward to see if we can't um you know keep working on some of these areas and see what we can what we can improve on thank you Tina yep all right I will continue There are no questions I I do have a question sure um Tina out of the hostile work environment group how many would you say uh were affected by physical slash mental or is that the whole group that
023was kind of the whole group um you know some of that like that mental hostility was just the like I said just coming in every day and I guess it kind of it was hard to kind of pull that information out with that no accountability piece right like some of it was just the con like we had one employee leave middle of the Year gave up teaching altogether because they would come in every day and be verbally accosted by students um or you know we've had altercations where students have you know hit a teacher or pushed a staff member into a door frame trying to to get out of the the building so there are there are things that you know they're not purposefully placed into these situations it's just they happen and you know
024after a while I think they're you know they just need the break and nonver middle means that they that they chose not to renew or that we chose not to renew them okay yeah yeah we chose not to renew okay that Will Go On hopefully my I'm gonna come to that at the end and let Larry go next he has a an update on Transportation that was requested um yeah so news for next year some news I'm still waiting on from a special ed but we have an additional bus from Mount Ascutney we hope that that'll uh help the routes um uh Mike's working on that right now he thinks he can uh lower those routes by some some of the routes like the Perkinsville route et cetera by 20 minutes or so so really
025excited about that a goal this year is to Alderman one return in separate buses so they come out uh or the parents are responsible for getting there for period one and then they come back on a separate bus and I'm just still waiting on TK Transportation information and um and uh what was the other one PKA Ace once I have that information um I'll update and we'll know what we're doing and then uh also there was questions about electric buses and federal grants and STV is constantly looking at that more news to follow um can I just ask about the um Algebra 1 return and separate message is that a problem it was a request from the Heartland Wethersfield principal so we're going to try to do that okay it gets the students back to
026their second period and uh this year it was Heartland on Weathersfield so Wethersfield students were not getting back until the middle of second period so if they can go back in separate buses they can get back in time for their next period five that's the Hope yeah thanks Larry um I this is just one thing that Lori wanted me to bring up we talked about this at um I believe an open meeting law training recently or one that I went to anyway we post our agendas a week in advance sometimes there are last minute changes and so um they we are only required to post them 48 hours in advance of a meeting and we'd like the board to consider um using the 48-hour period just because if we make changes um it's not as
027transparent to the public um so we're hoping to host 48 hours with an accurate agenda that doesn't need to be changed very very much um so just want to get feedback on that um and that would be you Bell as the chair I think for this for this board well the the advice we got basically was uh unless it's somewhat of an emergency yeah it's not good practice for transparency to change the agenda right without a really due cause especially at the meeting at the meeting but we're if we're posting she's posting seven days in advance now and sometimes there are changes within that seven day window and she she'll change it um so if we wait till 48 hours we feel like we can have a more final agenda for the meeting if that
028and so that would be Thursday for a Monday meeting if that's good with you she would like to do that I think that's a great way to represent okay at some point we may want to consider to put it into policy so um yeah but I don't know what kind of look like okay thank you I will let her know um in my last slide and then I'll turn it over to Angie oh sorry I brought two procedures tonight actually the V2 procedures for volunteers and work study students was last time that it was lengthy and I wanted you to have a chance to take a look at it if there was any discussion it really is straight from the policy of ask Lori to post them in the portal as well so that you
029can see them um they don't need board approval their procedures are just for your information and if there are no concerns we're gonna our plan is to post the procedures online so that everyone can see them um that we we didn't really have many at the beginning of the year I've been working at getting a procedure for each policy that we have so that's the hope for fall to have them done um the one that I'm bringing tonight is B22 procedure for complaints and it's you know as I was doing my homework the policy that we have B22 used to be um titled pers about personal personnel and instructional materials but when you read the policy and you will tonight it's just about complaints about Personnel so the procedure which is in the portal for
030you um I've changed the name and hopefully it'll come up um it mirrors the policy and I have copies if anybody wants a hard copy to look at quickly passes around this is the actual policy and then the procedure for 20 minutes we're at 20 so another 10. um I think do you um how do you want to go about the protocols do you want me to bring them and then we can talk about them at the next meeting if there are changes or do you want to look at them in the moment I would rather have time to review okay so then we'll what does anyone else have any okay but you did I mean they were posted in advance they were but I don't think I told people that until now so this
031was on that list it's in the portal um the procedures well I also I'm pretty sure they're both in the portal last month I brought you procedures for volunteers and work study students and I don't know if anybody had a chance to review that one that also mirrors the policy which we haven't adopted yet I don't think under student um Athletics clubs and activities so I think if that policy is not adopted then the procedures will change if that makes sense yeah okay one leads to it I can be done for now and um I think Angie has a quick three slides and Brittany has a quick three slides and then so probably another few minutes okay do you want to share your screen sure um and I will um put those in my next
032report for everybody to kind of look at and we'll look at those that's okay you stop presenting Andrew you are up so as we transition I think probably a good way to move forward is that you share them ahead of time we would put it into items for discussion okay uh because it wouldn't require any action to sort of yeah does anyone have any comment on this so make sure they're in the portal prior to the meeting okay that's great um I just want to also comment if you're going to be posting 48 Hours um if you want to make sure that the community knows I don't know you would do that but in advance yeah I think I think the plan would be to post seven days before if there's any changes that people
033want then to try to get them before before the 48 hours is that what you wanted Christine well the technically they don't have to go up until 48 hours but we'll do it however it makes sense um so if you want them in draft form until like it always says draft until the week prior and then Lauren changes that am I correct on that yeah so they'll say draft until Thursday and then then we'll not make changes after Thursday that's what we're agreeing to okay it might be good at some point to do a blast to see what the community thinks about that wants okay so the all the policies and procedures that you want us to look at working here for the whole week yes yes it gives you some time yeah those usually
034to be honest those usually go in after the meeting or he's pretty good about getting the things that need to be looked at up the week after the meeting typically but really all right Angie you're on you're right um there was a question about foundational trainings for um staff and so I have a little bit of information I want to give you a background we always had certain trainings that were required by the state um last year with the Advent of Frontline um we started putting uh more meat on the bones if you will of how we support our new staff and the trainings that we want our staff all to have a common experience um so Britney's work has been a lot of organizing that in front line and managing that piece so that
035essential trainings that are required mandatory reporting bloodborne pathogens confidentiality civil rights for childhood nutrition um and these are done um in little slideshows that people read and they study and then they sign off that they've done the training it's an honor System the onboarding trainings for new staff include how to navigate the front line system um Alice safety training that's not only for new staff all staff have to have Alice safety training every year um and the new faculty website that has been a big project of Whitney's Brittany's um this spring as well and then the foundational trainings based on our strategic plan goals seven habits and leader in me quick start so now we are in four three we have been using Laramie for two year two years so we're entering our third year
036so we bring our staff up to speed with those trainings curriculum and the new programs we've adopted adopted trauma-informed practices and collaborative problem solving exposure training these trainings happen over the course of two years and the system helps us keep track of who's had the trainings and who still needs the trainings that's one of my presentation thank you very much you want me to go now yeah okay um so new staff members don't automatically get implicit bias training we do not have an implicit bias training at this time okay so just the end of the year data I'll go really quick here so we had less students take track my progress um in the winter and in the spring than we have in the past because we were piloting star with a select group so
037in the past it was about 900 just over 900 that we're taking um track my progress and in the winter and this and the spring which it says summer because we took it during the later window this year um we had 717 students take the ELA assessment and so I brought you fall of 2021 all the way through the most recent and you can see in elar trend is um increasing with more students in the green than before what I did is I combined them so you'll see you're either at and above which is in the green or your um below or significantly below those are combined into red so it's a good good Trend which see in math we have a similar Trend although there was like a little increase and then a dip
038again but um it is going in the right direction as well we had 705 students take track my progress um this is the end of the year Behavior data so this is our suspension data from across the entire Su um it increased a little bit in November December January which I believe I presented in my last um presentation and then decreased significantly over the last part of the year and then this is our final hhb substantiated data um and this is the whole supervisor yes HP uh hazing harassment and bullying yeah sorry so I think that's that's all I am are you sharing all of this with us uh yes it's in this and I can get it to Christine she can get it out um I have a request okay um would it be
039possible to see these in advance of the meeting so we can ask you questions during the meeting sure yeah we can put them is it the best just put them in the portal or do you want to share it with you I think it'd be best to put them all right I think put them in Portal and costume and share yeah but and even the most important thing we're going to use the website use Larry as an example and use the website and that's where the goat they uh they go for the information yeah let's share it with you again if if there are things in which you might want to elicit comments on been definitely sharing them to the board and then looking at progress sounds good all right that is the end of
040the administrator report items for discussion motion for approval continues okay negotiation update uh this would be fairly quick um we have actually had two really good meetings point out right away that that I think Heather is a Blown Away um to have her as part of the document she is just a very organized yeah and very honest she's on the Heartland board yeah and Jamie's opinion when we meet as three is just really values so I want to thank those two I think our format in which Christine is um off to the side and both the teachers and the board a team give her assignments and should I do them and occasionally we ask for her opinion and it works great uh really emphasizing um collaboration and we have an actual update to the um
041the negotiation agreement with a sort of preliminary set agenda the first three weeks are going to be really open discussion to talk about what the which what both parties want and then to come up with a list in those three reads of what we're exactly the negotiate on and then we're going to start with that and so the one disaster um we had September 20 seconds was we put in a buy date to start by September 22nd and you did um approved ground rules yes at the last meeting which is great well although this is not going to be applicable until 2025. correct right yeah this support staff is yes yeah so the teachers next year is the last year yeah yeah you're after the support staff yeah sometimes it takes months yeah oh no
042no I reached out and to Christine and kind of had a discussion on how we wanted to do it and then I actually just the first initial letter saying we were going to start and getting that his side organized we've just had a very open and honest discussion um so it's good so far yeah sure that's it um policy review and reading Windsor Southeast supervisory flagpole policy first read um I actually I don't know if anyone had a chance to look at I've added comments to this and just had to do with um which foreign yeah I think that needs to be clarified so that um they know what the board goes who's responsible for approving other than that yes well I thought it was only one I thought it was only one school's flagpole
043no it's almost any schools for future yes and where is the winter uh school supply uh it's right at the um Street entrance and it's right on the corner of the playground it's huge okay so this is this policy is to help make it easier whenever we have a flag request here's here are the guidelines for concerned that's simple so where did you add comments to the actual document okay um I don't see any [Music] um any room on here and uh for asking about potential policies um so notified policy right uh I'd like to ask about a potential policy okay should I say it now uh let's let's go through the list and then you know at the end I believe um B22 is I'm doing the same thing for B22 a potential policy
044change um so is that okay if we just wait to the end of the same time um and we'll see how we are doing for time but I think we've done pretty well um are there any comments about yes I just had a comment about this one um and maybe since I'm new it's just not familiar language to me but in this it said um oh the wse4 will only consider flag requests and it goes through the different things and one of it says or establish Vermont agency or education transferable skills that's something that's known to people enough to have that that wording in here like this yes because that's I I think it is transferable skill it is based upon a law but of course I'm in education so um it might be a
045good idea to cite the transferable skills um policy we have or the actual law that may not be a bad idea they weren't expecting student I'm sorry if we're expecting students to be the ones that are bringing this forward I just think having it as clear as possible Christine yeah Angie doesn't come wrong but I think all the students would know what transferable skills are I mean I mean they they should they might it just depends on the language that they use we call them learning expectations yeah um portrait of graduate competencies so we have a couple different names for them so yeah well okay well Angie let me ask which name would students um breakfast high school students recognize them the easiest it's a good question learning expectations that's how it said how it
046said how it is indicate that in the report on the reporting screen okay so that's probably the best okay the one so maybe put in transferable skills [Music] thank you um first reading is that it that's the first reading yeah okay um E1 Title One Part A Lea parent and family engagement policy second read um I have a question did Angie did you go over this information because I started yeah this one yeah yes you went through it and it was yeah extensive okay yeah there's a long presentation yes I'd like to um change the policy to say that Child Care will be provided pardon that child care will be provided could you direct us where you're at um I will in a second okay this down above E1 yeah and this was the second
047one there yeah number 13. yep it currently says child care in some cases may be provided in case you can't get somebody like it would be nice if you could get a way to reserve like if you knew and then you could make sure that you had somebody yeah I'll do that so does that mean that we would be responsible for making sure that child care is available here yeah my feeling is that child care should be always be provided when uh when we have meetings that we want families to come to you know I agree absolutely I just think we would have said and there's often times that we will uh when I was a principal did Outreach to the kids and teachers and offered to pay and we would get no one so
048it's um I agree with you I mean I think we should but there are occasions where we don't have anybody to do it so community service Davis yeah short short of building a guarantee into the policy can we change the language to reflect that we will make every effort to ensure that child care is provided just to you know to codify that we're going to do our very best to do it but uh you know not put a hard and fast guarantee you know accepting that that isn't something we have complete control over I I think whoever's organizing me again [Music] well I think that life thank you um coming hi um we lost microphone a little bit it's when somebody can you hear me yeah same here Colleen I after my comment uh the
049mic seems to drop out on the meeting owl for folks who are attending online that's what happened I was gonna if you can hear me I'm agreeing with Davis on I heard you Davis on um using his using language that says we'll try like can we guarantee to try to have child care I mean I know that sounds ridiculous but I also know how hard I've seen Christine go through it trying to find people this is the second reading and I think it's uh under number 13 child care in some cases may be provided change it to child will make every effort to provide child care uh yeah okay okay oh sorry I didn't mean to raise my end again Colin can you hear us better now yes okay yeah I think sometimes the mic
050just doesn't pick up your first comment and then it's lost or something it's it's trying to it outsmart us Katie was trying to signaling and Katie give us a thumbs up if that's what you were signaling us about okay yes thank you okay um are there any other comments on so that one will come back for a third read in in August I hear Elizabeth um I I I'll try to think of something as well but um c22 well I'm sorry one one more thing um I mean is there any way to at least um have the capability of the meeting being hybrid if there is no child care that would be a question for Angie because this is like legally required music right now right yeah we'd have to explore that what would be
051the benefit and it would depend on the activity yeah my first concern would be would it be actually allowed right because this is not in so Davis yeah I think I think it'd be worth looking into the uh whether for federally required meetings it is um allowed to do hybrid meetings I I would say that you know generally in 2023 um whenever possible we should try to do hybrid meetings to make sure that they're accessible to as many people as possible because I mean child child care is only one reason that meetings can be hard to attend for folks so uh any time that we can do it we should try to do that let me try to provide a recording too so if you do it hybrid then we have can make a recording
052of it that we can find the webc site so Andy do you think you could research that before our um um allows for all readings to be in hybrid until 2025 correct yeah yeah but the question is is this authentically required meeting through the state or is it right and directly required from for Title One funds the state will be monitoring yes like in some cases it's a question of what form and no I understand that the federal law should say whether yeah okay now yeah a lot of the federal requirements are managed by the state um okay yeah yeah the Tenth Amendment of the Constitution doesn't allow the federal government to have any say on education yeah okay um C 22 Student Activities third race yeah third degree do we want to make a
053motion to um do I have a motion to approve so moved a second okay I'm saying early Elizabeth I was disappointed you were here so you also I was excited to have you help me I should have brought the book for you I'll drop the book off at your house okay so uh discussion on c22 and c23 what did you mean that's being a combined well no it says that elementary c22 and c23 are combined into a new c22 okay student Athletics clubs and activities and I didn't have any more I didn't have any changes after last time I read it have any questions I have a question what is meant by the level can you all can you hear Davis okay what is meant by the level of student interest in the activity uh
054in other words until an activity has begun how can you really gauge what student level of interest is foreign wanted to have a club right so it says the level of end of student interest in the activity taking into account that some activities will be provided for a smaller number of students the question is if I had a really great idea about a um a Pokemon Club and uh I talked to one of my friends and my who's also totally into Pokemon and I said uh with the school or the district consider allowing us to have a Pokemon club during um I know I'm pronouncing that one Pokemon Pokemon Pokemon so uh if it's just my friend and me saying um we want to have this club and nobody else knows about it but when
055uh when they see us playing at lunchtime uh other students become interested in it because it's awesome um that doesn't reflect the sentence of that people make determinations related to individual activities to be offered through consideration of many factors including but not limited to so I think I think I think having it in there means that if there's some concern the individual board this isn't yes you would be doing this could say well I don't think there's going to be what about interest and then they get asked the student to show interest or have in in service it doesn't mean that if right the board doesn't think there's interest then they would automatically deny it it's just one of the many they could use well I guess my my question is whether um whether the
056student or students have to prove that there's interest before pitching the idea in my experience um Brittany can attest we've had I think what's Pokemon um and the student uh came to us and wanted to do this club and we said okay do you have other kids that are interested and he reached out and brought a few names to us he recruited he recruited yeah and I mean I think the goal is to encourage it you know at all by all means we want kids to be able to be engaged in what they're very much interested in so an amount of time money and energy that this issue has put into the leader of me I think this is a great example in which someone wants to come forward and if the board had to
057say well what kind of interest can you do as a leader you would then go out and gather a few names but I don't think it's a is a requirement so for example if a student brought that they wanted to do a dance club okay to to and and they had the ability to bring in some uh they had a YouTube site which could train it and it was vetted and everything an important thought I think that's a great idea for students to be doing that during this time throughout the day they don't have to ask about that it wouldn't be necessarily need to be a consideration but I think it's worded that way okay David thank you yeah I know I mean everything that everyone is saying on this uh makes a lot of
058sense I appreciate the uh the conversation I I guess the way that I'm feeling about it is that I think that leaving it broad uh in the policy makes sense um you know I think that when it comes to if there is any concern about about needing to demonstrate a level of Interest that's something that I that I'm pretty confident uh leaving up to the administration I mean like if if there is a feeling that maybe getting some names on a piece of paper or something like that is is going to be the the metric that we need that's good but I mean I I don't know that we need to make it to hard and fast in a SEO level policy okay any other discussion on this okay as is his policy I am
059not going to do a Voice vote I am going to call him out uh Davis how do you vote hi Jamie hi mark I Megan hi Rebecca hi Nancy hi and I am an eye and Marie I didn't see her and Marie I I apologize Amber I don't actually have yeah and uh F4 access control and visitor management eight is all this right yes to um to suspend the additional kind of traditional rules for um since we're only looking at the first time community this is our first it's the first lady the largest paths okay but it has a short deadline and and the bsba had to have time to graph it but the law states that it must be passed away to suspend no after we have a discussion so then I moved that
060way to look at uh yeah no we'll take a motion to suspend the world or adoption again so big in order to adopt me I will take them open to [Music] tonight a second okay really discuss it okay does anyone have a comment about suspending the views so I I don't have a comment on that strictly but um and I'm sorry to keep having to bring up technical issues it sounds to folks online like the meeting now oh it's now underwater um I wonder if maybe just muting it and taking it off mute quickly would uh would clear that out um just seemed to be multiple issues going on tonight and if you could repeat that discussion okay is that better Davis so the motion is to um and the second is to suspend the
061reduction the suspend the the procedure for adoption in order to be able to adopt it tonight because that just got past two weeks ago by the governor or signed into law by the governor a couple weeks ago the Vermont School Board Association and superintendents Association had to have time to draft the policy but by law it has to be adopted by August 1st so we're suspending the rules the additional readings in order to be able to adopt it tonight and this is for F4 it's for both and F3 yeah okay so the discussion now is on whether or not to suspend the rules for for approval it sounds like we don't have a chance I move that we do that and I will start with Anne-Marie I'll say I but I'm pretty sure you said
062my name I can't really hear you right now [Music] I did great thank you Davis hi hi mark I guess Nancy hi and me Jamie Jamie hi and that is um approved so um I will take a motion to approve um F3 and F4 well I do both at once well we only we only suspended the rules for at three and then we'll discuss it and then we'll go back and do the rules okay for F3 okay okay okay sorry I will take a motion to uh approve F4 so moved second okay discussion on approving F4 kind of like to actually look at it real quick that's something I had yeah I'm pretty sure I I think it does a good job of really handling handling it over to the administration to identify with what
063we how it needs to be done I mean the good news is we do most of this already I do so sorry tonight like specifically if there is a doing you functioned all year with no doors open I think that's great I was just curious yeah so I would prefer to sit stay that way um can you clarify that is that that is optional that's not it's optional you can put in the policy that we can leave certain doors open for particular reason but we've taken a no doors or left open approached okay so yeah that is will be deleted okay I agree with that any other comments discussion okay I will once again policy I did feel it's important to ask everybody and we'll start with Jamie yep okay I uh Davis I we
064lost audio again Nancy hi Anne-Marie hi mark hi [Music] and says something that takes a second to catch up for this mic so they don't care so especially when you go to the first I will take a motion to suspend Ed the rules for adoption for F3 so moved okay any discussion on approval to suspend the rules for people yep or adoption or adoption it sounds like you already do this also yeah Kelly can you hear us we're not actually discussing so I will start in person and I will start with Nancy to suspend the rules hi Megan I Elizabeth aye don't forget yourself I say Davis I gaining hi Arlene I mark I and memory I can't approved a discussion on approving F3 uh Rebecca you started to I um I I think that
065you're already doing this this year you've had a big one and you advertised it everyone in town knew about it yep the only thing I think we need to um ensure that we're doing is viewing the Emergency Operations plan annually with with political emergency First Responders and local emergency management officials so but yeah the rest of it we do okay any other discussion is that in there it is number five on the um administrative responsibilities yes um I have a question and it has a different procedure uh so if you notify parents are parents allowed to opt out of the emergency um drill I mean we we definitely um can do it in an alternative way if a student is going to have difficulty during that drill so there are some students that I know
066are sensitive to noise and so we make a we make an alternate plan so yeah we work with families on that but they need to know what to do no but but there are different ways we can go about showing how to do it right yeah yeah if that makes sense yep yeah I'm just processing of your hands actually answer the question the answer is the answer yes so the answer is they can't I mean they can they have to know what to do so they have to practice it in some way but it might not be when everybody else is practicing so that is basically yeah right Davis it sounds like you can make reasonable accommodations to student individual student needs so that they can they can attain that knowledge um without having to
067be like a broad-based thing but there there is no option to opt out correct excellent right as well if a child was absent are they then rebrieged on this or they should be I mean we try to um make sure and it happens a couple times a year it can happen it has to happen twice a year but it can happen more frequently and what we tend to do is review what to do and not necessarily do it every time but talk about what what you do in those kinds of situations so kids are familiar with what to do that was a good question yeah yeah very good question we have another question and this is really not about this policy so maybe I should ask you at another time but does your plan include
068school buses the Emergency Operations plans yes or do you or do you mean do we practice evacuation of school buses I know you practice evacuations of school buses but do you include school buses in your active shooter drills we include school buses in terms of we sometimes need them to move students if that makes sense we'll call buses depending on the situation um to move students from one location to another so yeah the bus drivers know the Emergency Management plan yeah any other discussion on F3 okay I will take a vote Nancy hi Rebecca Hi Megan hi Elizabeth I I am and I Davis I Jamie I called Colleen voted I mark I Anne-Marie hi I think Christine is right you have to give a pause yeah I don't think so yeah for the new
069game it's only taken a couple years just to figure that out um be true 22. um this is just something I wanted to quickly bring up um because it came up during the astronomy School Board um and I went back and read the policy um that I wasn't particularly happy with it um and I somewhere I did read write of the first paragraph the only thing I'm not happy about is there is the first paragraph it makes it um it doesn't state that that is how it has to be done is that the the um the administrator must make sure that the teacher said that the complaining parent meets with the staff member involved um and I don't know if anyone else had that same sort of read through where it says shall be encouraged
070shall be encouraged um I was looking for the language I put in I think I put in a different account um and I actually had my wife anyway I I will share that with you Christine okay I'd like to bring up back in a future section okay um just because in instances at where a the student's emotional and physical well-being is not at risk I think it should be a requirement for uh for planning parents to meet with the staff member and vice versa and so that would be up to the administrator to make sure that happened to the point that you know if a teacher refuses most of the time I agree with the teachers that refuses and that's that's not an option that's subordination so what if the parent refuses because that's in
071my experience happens more than the teacher refusing well then if the parent refuses then that's where the complaint dies I think we just have to be clear about it yeah is it possible as opposite that's where the complaint guide where there is an effort to bring the teacher and the parent together with that relationship is really important in order for that student to be successful yeah so I mean in my language there's any refusal on anyone's party that that's not going to work for the student and so we need to like look at well what's going to work for the students so we you know in that I I think I agree with you Bill I think that that has to happen so I'm thinking what can be put in place to make sure that
072that happens I don't know if you're bringing someone but and says I will sit with you but just one cannot go any further yeah in my language states that it's up to the administrator to facilitate the safest um environment for that to take place and it may mean that the administrator sits into it or even a third party um [Music] it's really up to the administrator the supervising administrator to do everything in their power to make sure that it's a comfortable place at the same time if nothing can be done to force your parents to to have that meeting and and that means it dies there the other thing to consider about in my experience I've never had a teacher refuse to me with a parent I mean obviously they want to to help the
073student in any way they can but there have been times when a parent has taken um some considerable um verbal abuse from a parent and oftentimes teachers have the same cohort from year to year and so I have seen a teacher say I just can't meet with this parent anymore all they do is you know they're just very angry and not not collaborative and trying to figure out the problem so yeah you know what do you do in those situations it's not the first time around it's the sixth or seventh or eighth time around so um that's one reason I'm bringing this forward okay for us for the board to consider yeah what should be in the policy yeah yeah I that was going to be my question was if it's a repetitive thing and
074that seems like that falls under it could fall under the Hostile like for the teacher um I wondered if in this or in the policy I know we're not our procedure I know we're not talking about that tonight but if it's one of them an actual um description of what should be written like how the written document should go or what that kind of looks like so it can kind of be that right a second nature do you see what I mean like like we have this is what we need you to do write it down there this way if that that may be part of the procedure as well yeah um but I just I bring this up because it's something I wanted just based upon some comments from administrators and passages make sure
075that our teachers feel as supported as possible and our administrators feel supported to move forward on that because it's basically involves so so it'll come back in August okay okay it does it has to do with um the public use of our building facilities and so it's in response to what happened in virgins last week in which uh leader of a hate group um was invited to speak at the high school and I'm pretty sure not everybody has read about it but uh the board was um applied because they didn't have a policy in place they were obliged to um uh allow the speaker to come and uh uh it's a it is a tricky area but uh I have discussed it with um the uh head of the Vermont superintendents Association Jeff Francis Jeff
076Francis well I don't know what you what his title is he's the third yeah I think you're right from the Vermont School Board Association and they're planning to come up or we're going to talk about whether it needs to um be a piece of legislation or whether it needs to be of the SBA BSA policy but I thought for our supervisory Union the way to thread the needle is we already have a facilities policy what is legal is asking um people who use the facilities to adhere to the regular rules of uh the building as far as um content and conduct yeah so I agree with you Elizabeth and I think we should bring up that policy yeah is it facilities useful yes okay I don't see it here so let me is there somewhere
077it might be on the wings and grounds okay it's a federal law so of course it's at least a state long the buildings right it happened because they're places in public accommodation they have to be open to um members of the public who request access but it's not similar to all other products that is exactly right right so so one of the um one of the questions that's always asked is who gets to judge whether it's a hate group or whether it's appropriate and the answer is that it's already in the policies for the school so the board doesn't have to even worry about that it's already there yeah so yeah I think that's a great way to move forward uh we can we'll talk about it later and we can talk about it later
078and I would really love it if you could force the Articles yeah that'd be great Okay C moving on from policies appointment of lead negotiator um as last year's lead negotiated I when I was done I felt uncomfortable with the fact that um the negotiating team basically appointed me um the lead negotiator for the teachers is actually elected um and I happy to take on that role but I think it would be something that should be appointed voted on by this book that's just something and because it's in here um take a motion to appoint [Laughter] any discussion on that really outstanding job as negotiator that's a lot of enthusiasm and time and yeah you put a lot of work into it and it really shows and uh uh that the process um I don't
079think there's a single person left from the bad old days but uh from what I understand of the process it has improved infinitely it does take a lot of work and I think we have a great team this year yeah so I I'm encouraged okay um all in favor and I will just do a book voice quote on this um me Billy hates being lead negotiator please say aye aye okay congratulations thank you for your approval um covid vaccine mandate I will um take a motion to rescind lift the staff code vaccine mandate it's all moved second discussion I I think it's about time it's time yeah we agree I agree okay again because it is a I will do a voice not a Voice vote but an individual Davis like Jamie hi Colleen I
080mark nay and Marie hi Elizabeth hi Megan hi Rebecca hi Nancy hi and I am an eye that's okay okay is now this is actually quite important authority to hire for summer 2023. um I don't know if everyone here is aware that hires are approved by the board um and boards at the same time in this time like any other time difficulties applying finding staff we uh often give the authority to the superintendent to make hires on our behalf to fill the positions of need a chair all things so I will take a motion to approve authority to hire to superintendent which is going to be next year yeah to superintendent Christine Bourne to hire for the time of the summer just until August 28th our next meeting yeah the next meeting so we're not
081hiring some just just to make sure I understand the Motions exactly the motion is to hire during the summer months or to hire for summer employees it's um well both honestly Elizabeth but um I think I think we've brought every potential hire to the board that we've interviewed and offered up until now so if there's any between now and August 28th I mean if if someone I mean I know it's one of the main issues and for those of us who have sat on negotiating boards especially for say special ed teachers if you wait that period that person will take another one you'll lose that person right yeah right I'm just asking to clarify which thing worked so can we clarify an emotion for the period during uh or the authority being given for the
082period of the summer months yes that's what it says yes sure and if there's any um last minute like late August we'll just bring them to the board but you know we don't want to lose people so yeah someone okay all right is there any discussion on authority to hire for the summer 2023. and that's Su employees so it's mostly special ed which yeah I've been to the debacle at least four special-led teachers yeah that's the president but never mind okay I will take a Voice vote on this all in favor of um giving Christine Warren superintendent authority to hire for summer 2023 all in favor say aye bye any abstentions okay it has passed right thank you next agenda um Christine I believe we're pretty much have a very full agenda to any can
083you do you have that too for August for August so we're not meeting in July we are not meeting in July um July we are having a retreat the beginning of August yeah yeah um so in August what we were planning to do got my notes Here um and Bill correct me if I'm wrong so we talked about this a while ago we're gonna do um new policies from the vsba first reading because there are new ones that are recommended um and we've broken those out um so this year I didn't leave any time for second third reads in our schedule so we had a lot of policy work to do so we're going to correct that for next year so we've got in addition to what we're moving forward from this agenda we'll have
084E20 which is a new policy Community use of school facilities Elizabeth must be what you're talking about I was just looking through all the policies online I can't find a facilities policy so we'll bring that one you know I guess we should be good um that's a new one c28 which is a new policy transgender and gender non-conforming students and f27 which will be um communicable disease mitigation measures so we have those policies and we'll have a word presentation a superintendent report I didn't add any other reports for the obvious meeting just mine we should be to start a school that has nothing to do this is our August meeting August 28th The Retreat I haven't set the agenda for yet bill and I will work on that cell phone policy will that be part
085of your week um conversation yes we're going to finalize it's not a policy it's a procedure okay so it doesn't need board approval right we definitely want your input and insights on it I can share if you want me to work we're kind of Landing yeah right now you want to do that okay um so uh the administrators would like a a no cell phones out all day Okay Age so we're not going to say you can't bring it but it should not be on you it should be in your backpack really um and then at the high school level um and Angie and Brittany are at this meeting so correct me I think it was um not not out during class time but you could use your phone at lunch time um so you
086can check your phone they uh Kate was really kind of not sure about in between classes you know and classes out because it does what she reports is kids are walking down the hall with their phone they've got their earbuds in they don't see where they're going they're taking videos and posting them of things that you know they shouldn't be and so her feeling is fine at lunch time end of the day I check your phone but during the rest of the day not have them out and I know Hudson brought some great points about using your phone to um for schoolwork but each student has a Chromebook and their Chromebook can be used for those things and Larry can confirm that because he's the Chromebook expert but um we really I mean it's it's
087it's not it's a struggle everywhere and people are wrestling with what to do and it's really going to take um some clear expectations for the students staff and the parents and so we'll be communicating that out um in lots of blasts as soon as we finalize what that's going to look like um and I can report Kate's also working there's a small subcommittee Brittany myself Kate and Alina um we're pretty good K-8 at what expectations look like in school high school we we aren't because you know they're young adults we want we want it to be more fluid but there are some things that have been really um difficult especially since coven um you know since we've opened up things and that and I can list them one is um late for class leaving class
088without permission so that's habitual for some students swearing in class in the Halls wherever so I mean we don't want that I mean kids talk to each other in a different way than they should be talking to adults um so leaving class swearing uh vaping um and have some clear cafeteria expectations yeah yeah so we're going to work on those over the summer and it'll it's going to be it's going to take a group effort because once somebody doesn't adhere to those expectations um teacher teachers have to be on board because they're the ones on the um you know yeah that have to enforce them some level and then and then being very clear on what the expectation is for um staff in terms of follow-through and when Administration needs to be be involved and
089how we close that Loop so um I'm really happy Britney's gonna help because she was the really expert at Heartland in developing the expectations and yeah also looking at rolling over those expectations from middle school yeah yeah and we want them to have more freedom right they're young adults but they also or more autonomy agency on another subject before we hang up okay I think that that's going to be very difficult I think those are some really heavily important if you really can work with them because that's going to be really important because we know that they're going to be tested yeah yeah and kids are going to watch what it's done and it's not done and it's gonna get it's going to track the information that's going to travel really quick not only to
090other Goods but it's going to travel to parents yeah and so they did you know so it's I I we're gonna do our best yeah it's about consistency and training and communication I think which is a loss at the same time though these topics that you bring up really is the core what social studies should be yeah and so yep and also addiction yes yeah yeah amazing things it is the kids are addicted adulter addicted phones social media people are are going through addiction counselors to learn how to break them themselves up there yeah I mean and with students it's not a bad idea yeah yeah Colleen yeah I'm sure it's coming too in lots of Institutions not just school but workplaces or whatever um but I was um I'll piggyback on the addiction thing
091that you bring up Elizabeth and the that's the hurdle like you you may really hit there's going to be a a hill to climb a little bit there I would imagine in that kind of addictive way like it's gonna freak some kids out I imagine some people and also I would say that um when you're being clear about it and consistent about it um you consider the amount of information that is pushed to students through their homes yeah and so don't expect them to not use their phone but also expect them to use their phone yeah yeah Elizabeth you got something else um I was hoping because I apologize for being late but I was I don't know whether you addressed the question of our new um Dei director and what has been done to
092get things ready for her well we got her a desk which is really important and we know where she's going to be located where she needs a chair she's going to be in the curriculum office um which is here um in this building she's uh she's in Vermont I got word she's in Vermont she's going to come to our she's going to come to the vpa conference and our administrative Retreat so she'll have time to bond with with the administrative team which is wonderful um and we have some you know the goal is for her to really build relationship first with all stakeholders and that's we learned from the last round that that's really important students or our biggest stakeholders um our staff our community our school boards um she I invited her to come
093to the next Su board meeting I think I invited her to the retreat as well I will double check um well so does she have an Su email yet I think that's what she does she does now yeah okay um and at The Retreat are we talking are we hearing from Mary Gannon about the the um Equity audit and shouldn't she I mean she should really be there when we discuss it as an Su board if we are do I think that's something we didn't have brought up but I can't remember um I I brought it up with you and I think you had asked if it would impact policy and so I touch base with I think that's what you said and I touched I asked Mary Gannon um her thoughts on that she
094said it absolutely could impact policy in June she hopes to come okay so at the retreat which I think is August 7th 8th um and so um to answer your question further Elizabeth so um Angie myself and Mary have a meeting I think in two weeks and we're gonna really hash out what we need to have in place for supports for her and what the expectations are and will she have administrative support I mean Lori helps when we ask her right um and if that's a need there are certain times of year yes it would be very helpful but I can't I couldn't see a full-time person being we've we we're going to try to piece something together but then we don't have somebody that has part of a day that they can give up
095can't I don't really see that we can have a full-time person even with the Dei coordinator in there either or two if it becomes a need I mean she'll she'll let us watch it next year as sort of times that Angie I'd like you to consider um at some point sort of sharing with us what you may need in terms of support for brandwriting it's more Brands management invoices POS paying the invoices that an administrative assistant could do you're paying a very expensive admin assistant right here to process those right so so yeah at some point I I took a grants class basically the most important thing that I learned from it is okay I feel that way every time I don't think it should be an individual process yeah and it's not I mean
096the actual Grant we can talk that and we don't have to talk back right definitely it's supposed to be a team I want to give you an opportunity as sometimes a future to voice what you think is needed to move us forward with uh grant writing and Grant Management okay thank you possible when um apparently it's going to be at our Retreat that's to have um I know that each of the schools have a person that a group that's sitting and talking about um is it possible to have one person from Agents of schools to participant at that particular meeting with the Dei with Mary and in August thinking about I I don't know I mean I know the teachers are off now I mean they may be off you know yeah but it's like
097bringing all of the schools together at that meeting as opposed to just having um yeah coordinator and Mary Gannon so the staff I mean we have a plan to roll out the equity audit with staff so they haven't you know it's on the website now and and I sent it to them at the end of the year um but they need to debrief and talk about it um the you know one of the recommendations in the audit was for there to be a Dei kind of leadership team with representation from each school which we started to put in place and then each school have a local team um and we're really going to hone in on what they're working on because there's a lot and I think in terms of our strategic plan and in
098terms of the work that we're doing we really think that restorative and reflective practice is um something we really want to get good at um and so those teams are going to prioritize that work next year in each of their in each of their buildings but each building has also unique needs and there are different places in the work so you know but I I've been reading them a bit of this the equity you wanted and I'm thinking like there's no way that one person is going to be able to move this forward and it's successfully successfully and if this work is going to work it's going to have to at least have this literally from top down so I mean you need to start creating not only that person but having the other connection
099and and it'll continue you know downward but I think that you do need to you know you do have those teams in the school having one representative have a conversation with the Dei coordinator so that they all at least can because it really it's a lot of work yeah and and the plan is for Tracy and Mary to unpack it with the staff we have a schedule and they're going to get an overview altogether as an Su and then they're going to be in each building because that's really important so um we've mapped out the time that that's going to happen and then Tracy will be part of that those local teams and the leadership team yeah so it is a lot and it's there's a lot of parts some of it's curriculum related some
100of it's special ed some of it's I mean we're all invested in in um in that work and how to move it forward so um so in answer to your question Rebecca I don't know if it's feasible to have a member of each of those school teams at our Retreat okay but looking forward absolutely we could have a member of um each of those teams come to an ask your board meeting okay that makes sense okay report out also I see her name as the or her title is Dei coordinator but I think it's Dei director she's at the director level she is I think they posted it as coordinator of diversity Equity inclusion that's the director contract okay well it should be changed on the website I've got the job titles coordinator it is
101on the job the job we posted was coordinator what's the contract sir I think it says coordinator but it's an administrative it's an administrative contract if that makes sense so you want me to change it on the website to something other than the contract no I think I think her con and we'll double check it we can double check it it's pretty positive we've posted it as coordinator if foreign was it coordinator of diversity Equity inclusion contract yes so the steps to take if this board at some point wants to change that it would have to reissue a new car skipped and we technically I don't I mean would we have to repost Tina I mean the job so the so it's a title change it's not a the job itself isn't changing correct correct
102so I don't I don't think we would have to repost it because and I also don't think that would be wise because I think that would send the wrong wrong message to Tracy as well it's not very welcoming to have to repost your job nothing's changing except for it's it's semantics as far as that title piece goes my preference is to move forward how it is now and come next year if if that's something that she feels important or whoever the director is or the coordinator is feels important and the board is important you feel important and then we could change that it was an issue okay in a note a year from now does that sound good Elizabeth okay um we're at the bottom of our list we'll take a motion to um is
103there any need for executive session I will take a motion to end the issue meeting so moved SUV we have second second all in favor say aye aye aye um today any abstentions okay thank you always
