All right, I'm going to hit the lights. I'm going to make this official. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] All right, folks. Thank you for coming tonight. Um, as you know by now, this is our spring concert. We're starting with our sixth graders, our lovely sixth graders. We've been uh working really hard this year. So, um hopefully you will you'll notice uh some of the more complicated pieces we're doing and and um what we've accomplished, but we're excited to share this with you. Also, I promised them I would say hello to you with in a funny accent. So, hello guys. Whatever works, right? Okay. Ready? Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Applause] Thank you very much. And I tell you the trick with that song is

trying to keep the melody out of head out of your head when you're sleeping at night because it just comes back. You notice it may be a little repetitive, but you know when you do it every day for how long we do it for? Like three months. Um it sticks in your brain. Um next for you, we have a ballot. Um I conned them into doing this. They did not want to do it because it was too slow, but I promise you it sounds great. It sounds beautiful. And I said, "We might even do it so nicely that we would make all the old people cry." So if you're feeling the spirit, go for it. If not, I understand completely. Believe me, I cried. I cried. [Music] Surely Christmas [Music] Hallelujah. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat.

Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Thank you very much. [Applause] Our final song for you tonight is uh the dragon lord. Uh this one is a little scary there. You will they you will hear dragons. Um I'm hoping for an adult dragon and not a baby sleeping dragon, but we'll see what we get. It is a little intimidating in front of all these dragons in the audience. But um this is the dragon mark in our fight of peace [Music] pieces. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Applause] Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] Wow. Wow. [Applause] I love my fans. Come on. [Music] You're good. All right, folks. Thank you for your patience. This is our sixth grade jazz band. Um, we are today

we are starting with a piece called Cool Bean. Uh, kind of has a Latin feel to it. And there is a small little saxophone solo duet in the the middle which will be rocked out by Charlie and Aiden in the front. Heat. Heat. [Music] Hallelujah. [Music] Hallelujah. [Music] Hallelujah. Hallelujah. [Music] Hallelujah. [Music] Lou, skip to my Lou. [Music] finger. Where are you? [Music] [Applause] [Music] All right, our next song for you tonight is called the Martian Square Dance. Um, it has Blake is going to be soling for you. I hope you guys can see him back there. Uh, sometimes the rhythm section gets blocked out and I would like to say that's not on purpose. Sorry. No, that's Anyway, I had no follow up to that. Uh, so Blake is going to play uh the

solo and it's the Martian square dance, but we call it the Marsha Square dance because Marsha is going to play on the drums. The Martian square dance. All [Music] right. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. Hallelujah. [Music] Hello. Down. [Music] Come [Music] on. We will help. My [Music] birthday. Yeah. [Applause] All right, our final piece for you tonight is Uncle Milo Sideshow. Uh, it's kind of like it's it's a traditional blues piece and kind of like a minorish feel. Um, very tasteful. Oh, yeah. Blake's gonna solo on this one, too. [Applause] Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] High a feeling. [Music] Now I know [Music] [Applause] [Music] Heat. Hey, Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music] I feel [Applause] Yeah. Glory. Here you go. All right, folks. This is our seventh and eighth grade concert band. Um, we have a

number of pieces prepared for you tonight. Before we get into that, I just want to introduce my TA, my helper, the guy that helped me put this all together because, as you can tell, there's like 35 of them. They all have instruments. There's one of me. You know, it's it gets to be um it gets loud. So, a round big thanks for me to Conor for all his help this year. And we are going to start with uh the dragon slayer, not to be confused with the dragon lord that the sixth grade did. I don't know. I don't know where the dragon theme came from. It was not intentional. [Music] Heat. [Applause] [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] We love you. [Music] [Applause] Hallelujah. Heat. Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] All right. Next is divergence. [Music]

[Applause] [Music] Wonderful. Heat. Heat. [Music] Happy birthday. [Music] who [Music] are glory. [Applause] [Music] Woo! Yeah! All [Applause] right. Our next piece for you is called Tantrum, which is appropriate because I quite often have tantrums, right? Yes. Yes. The big tantrum this year. It was about um what? No. Do you guys remember? Yeah. They'll never forget. Well, I'll never forget that. Well, we know everybody playing a flat right now. This wasn't planned. Ready? [Music] Yeah. So, right. So, this is where I have the tantrum, but we won't do that right now. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] glory. Hey [Music] Hallelujah. [Music] Hallelujah. [Music] Our big closer for you tonight is um our highlights from the Harry Potter movies. Um, there's really not enough positive things I can say about John

Williams. Uh, fantastic composer, probably the most prolific of our time. Um, this is a complicated, uh, piece of music, believe it or not. And, um, I think you're going to be pleasantly surprised by how well we actually play it. It It took a lot of tantrums, right? Yeah, there were a lot of tantrums, but it it gonna pay off. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] She [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] dance through the wall. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Music] Johnny. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Woo! Come on. [Applause] Thank you. Come on. All right. [Music] You be lurking in the dark. All right, folks. This is the seventh and eighth grade jazz band. Um, our first piece for you tonight is Sing Sing Sing. It's a classic

by Louis Prima. Um, those you may I think you all know Louis Prima whether you know it or not. Uh, he's he wrote Be Like You in the Jungle Book, right? It did the original Disney version and I'm just the jigalo, that kind of stuff. Uh, pennies from heaven. Um, so this is sing sing. Heat. Heat. [Music] Hallelujah. Happy birthday. [Music] Heat. [Applause] Heat. Hallelujah. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Forever. Run. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] Hallelujah. Hallelujah. [Music] [Applause] Thank you very much. Thank you very much. Our um I also had a lot of help this year with the jazz band as well. Um somewhere around here I have a a high school another high school TA, Mr. Brian Simler, who's going to come out and uh direct them through the next song

for you. This uh this tune is Mercy Mercy. Oh, there's [Applause] Brian. Before I start, I'd like to extend a special thank you both to Mr. Pier and to Mr. Galant because without them, none of this would be possible within our school district. And yeah, so just give it up for them. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music] I know [Music] I wonder. [Music] la. [Music] Amen. God again. [Music] Hallelujah. [Music] [Applause] It's our last song of the concert. First of all, my name is Mr. Glant. I'm the uh coral director here. But how it worked out, I got the opportunity to co-e uh this jazz band with Mr. appear this year which provided us with some unique opportunities including this song. Uh we love to brainstorm and these guys just knocked it out of the

park in the winter concert if you remember. They did a fantastic job and I realized I think I can challenge these guys with a custom arrangement of the impression that I get as from the Mighty Money Boston. Uh yes. So, and I explained to these guys, your parents probably have a dusty CD somewhere in some binder that was stuffed under some car seat. Not just one, but probably a handful of sca dance. And they probably know the sca dance. So, if you feel so inclined to embarrass your child, make sure you dance on the larger platforms in the aisles so that you don't hurt yourself. Um, and just a few more things. First of all, the PTO store, the school store is open. Buy that swag while it's while it lasts. There's a lot of

good swag out there. Uh, great summer gifts. I know Father's Day is coming up next month, you know. Uh, and then first of all, I also want to uh give another there's so many things happening here. First of all, seventh graders. How many of you are seventh graders? These guys had the longest day today. They had MCCAST testing today which they crushed it. That's what I heard uh as they finish things up early because they still had to come to my class and I was perfectly fine with that today. Uh how many of you had a sports game today? Yeah, there's a lot of people running to sports. And then uh the other thing I wanted to make, how many of you are playing an instrument that you started just this year? So there's a

lot a lot of lot of achievements here. Uh and we just can't uh I can't thank their efforts this year, but I've talked enough. Don't forget about the PTO store. Uh please enjoy. Get ready to do, you know, get that SC dance going on as we play for you. Mighty mighty Boston. The impression that I [Music] get, the little wonky always happens. Heat. Heat. [Music] la. Hey [Music] Hallelujah. [Music] Down [Music] here la. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Hallelujah. [Music] Happy birthday. [Music] birthday. Oh yeah. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Lou. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Applause] Thank you so much for coming out. Uh again, PTS store. Please enjoy it. Thank you so much for coming out. We can't wait to see you all next year. [Applause]
