I Okay, Kyle, can you give me a thumbs up if you can hear us? >> I can hear you. Can you hear me? >> Yep. Loud and clear. Great. Thank you. >> Yep. >> Perfect. >> 31. We'll call this meeting to order. Pledge of allegiance. I pledge algiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> Right. >> Um do we have any additions, deletions, or changes to the agenda? >> Yes, we have one uh change we need to make. We need to remove item 6.1, which was a report from Sadie Klein, our school counselor. he is unable to be here tonight and uh we'll probably uh be with the board hopefully next next month.
>> Perfect. Wonderful. >> All righty. Um do we have any public comment? >> I have not received any written information nor is there any guest in our audience tonight. >> Beautiful. Um consent agenda. Did everybody have a chance to take a peek at consent agenda? >> Yep. Do we have a motion to approve consent agenda? >> I'll make a motion. >> I'll second. >> All in favor? I >> I >> Perfect. Fabulous. So, since we're going to skip 6.1, let's go on to ASB and athletics update. Kyle. Alrighty. Well, first of all, thank you guys for having me on here. Um, so good things happened this year in sports and are continuing to happen right now as we go through spring sports for both uh high school and junior high. Aaron, if you want to
flip that over to the next slide. >> Yep. Please just uh give me the sign when you're ready for the next one. >> Uh, quick year in review. So, uh, 73% of kids who were eligible for a sport played a sport, which is huge. I don't see those numbers or normally don't hear those numbers at other schools. So, we're proud of that progress. That number continues to rise and actually would have been a little bit higher if we had a few more girls uh able to play junior high sports, but nothing we can do about that. So, at the high school level, we had high school volleyball, football, girls basketball, boys wrestling, which was new, and then track and field, which is going on now. Junior high level was a little sparse this year. We
had junior high boys basketball and track and field. Um, we just had low numbers for junior high girls this year. We weren't able to get junior high volleyball or girls basketball in the fall. We were always one to two players short there. So, that was a little bit of a bummer. Kind of just how it goes in terms of the population of students that we had. Um, I envision with fourth graders coming up next year, those numbers should go back up. Um, barring any setbacks. And then I always got to throw in those bullet points. uh participation in sports obviously huge for kids. We know it it builds on those four areas. So that's why I'm I'm so passionate about continuing to push this forward is is we know it's in the best interest of
the kids. Go ahead Aaron. Uh fall sports. So high school fall sports we had new coaches for high school volleyball went very well. We had Shaya Heheimner as the head coach. Andy Stout was the assistant. As far as I know, they had the best uh season that I've seen in Easton history. They went 12 and four and they also won a playoff game. So, hats off to the two coaches and the girls who worked really hard during the season. Football, we were solid when we were on the field. We just got to be able to stay on the field. We struggled with uh consistency, some numbers, we had some injuries, things that are a little out of our control. And then grades. Um, that's the big one that we're working on for high school boys
is we got to keep them eligible and if they're not eligible, then we lose the opportunity. So, we had a good start to the year. We had to cut the season a little short just because we didn't have enough players. Preseason meetings for next year is looking better. I think we got about 11 people signed up right now. So, that should give us a little bit more consistency moving forward. Our big highlight from the fall was that Oregon trip. We took both high school football and volleyball to a jamboree in Oregon where they got to play some jamboree matches and then we took them all to an Oregon Ducks game the next day which was a pretty awesome experience for kids and adults to be honest. So as we go through winter sports, we had
girls basketball also new coaches there. Native Seis was the head coach. Haley Fry was the assistant. They did a terrific job with the girls. They went 11 and four. Also, I think the most successful high school girls basketball season I've seen through uh Eastn history. Trying to look up past records, they made a district appearance. And yeah, fabulous year for them. We did not have enough boys for high school basketball, so we pivoted and offered wrestling because we don't need a a number requirement there. So, we had four boys sign up. It was five. We lost one um at one point, but that was a learning curve. I mean, it's the first year of a of a varsity sport, so we knew it was going to be a little bit of a challenge. Overall, we
had positive feedback from the kids. They enjoyed it. We we uh thought Jade Townley, Caitlyn Townley's husband did a great job coaching the boys. We're hoping for a little bit more consistency. We also cut that season short. kind of a um guess lack of leadership just on the kids end. I think I think we're just focused on growth and and we had some learning curves there, but um actually talked to some kids today and they're interested in doing it again. So, I think that's a fabulous thing for East to have is wrestling because we don't rely on having, you know, a minimum number of of athletes. We can just do it with three or four or whatever we get. So, that's the plan moving forward there. On to spring. We're in spring right now. So,
track and field is what we got going. Uh, we got a new assistant coach. Uh, Patrick Penoyer has been doing a great job working alongside Nate with the high school track kids. I don't know if anybody's seen updates in the newsletter, but we we got some really good athletes and they're probably going to make some noise going to state. Jade Bailey. Um, possibly Abby Liberty, Austiner, or Aaron Brown. Um, I think real chances to to not only do well in districts, but to meddal in state going forward. So, that's exciting for us. Also, just new athletes participating. Some kids who we couldn't get to do it last year, they ended up wanting to give it a try this year and they're having a lot of success. So, um, the more kids we can get involved,
the better. So, we're we're happy with that. Absolutely. >> Junior high. There's your uh silly middle school boys team picture for the fifth through eighth graders. We had also some new kids there. I think I'm counting them. One, two, three, four, five of those kids. Hadn't played basketball before and we got them on the team this year, which was great. Coach Colby and Katon. Uh really the focus is just establishing interest so that we can hopefully have some high school basketball moving forward, developing fundamentals and and having some fun. So they they did a great job there. They won some games. They played a B-eague schedule, meaning you know a A team is a little bit higher level, B team is a little bit lower level. And I would say we actually probably should have
been in the A team level, which I none of us expected, but they they played very well. Not only did they have fun, but they were competitive and and won a lot of games. Junior high track, which is going on right now. Carrie Carter is our new junior high track coach, and we have four athletes signed up. So, hoping to build that number in the future, but um right now they're doing great. They're we joined the same league as Cleellum because our league does not offer junior high track meets. So, we joined Clem's league. They got five meets on the schedule and kids have been competing. I think top 10 finishes for for a lot of those kids, top threeish finishes for for a few of them. So, not only are we there and participating,
but we're actually competitive, too, which is very cool to see. Go ahead, Aaron. Plans moving forward? Um, I did not put this one on there, but big one for me is uh culture. I think continuing to change the culture at Eastston into we're not just happy to be there, but we're also competitive and and we're holding kids to high expectations because we know that they can meet them. Uh I'm really proud of the work that we've done there. I think that was reflected through some winning seasons and some playoff wins and um just a passion for sports at the school which I love. you know, at at uh free time and and in the mornings, you know, see kids grabbing footballs and basketballs and volleyballs and um wanting to play outside. So, that's that's really
what we're going for. We want the focus to be on the kids always and I think that um we've seen a lot of good momentum build there over these past couple years to keep building that momentum. Um home football games would be huge. Home football games in in high school is obviously a big community builder. So, I think if we can get that football field up and running, picture of the scoreboard there, that'll be huge. I know Jeff's working hard there. Um, so that would be big for us in the fall. And honestly, on the football side, I see um the chance to be competitive, too. I think based on our competition, we could actually compete for for a league championship there if if we can stay healthy. So, and then new gym floor and
bleachers. First of all, thank you all for approving that. moving forward with that. That's a much needed upgrade for the kids who have been um playing on on a great gym for a long time, but the time had come and and we needed an upgrade. So, thank you all for providing that. Uh, wrestling. I kind of have in my mind that I'd like to offer girls high school wrestling next year. Just for girls who didn't want to play basketball in the winter andor if we didn't have the numbers for basketball, I still want to offer something. So, girls wrestling is kind of on my mind for something we can do in the winter just to continue to build. Um, junior high sports, we just got to keep building. It's always easier to build from the
bottom up than the top down. So, um, continuing excitement about the sports at the junior high level, getting them in the weight room. Um, I've been doing this a lot in PE, not, you know, we're not running a super military style academy weight room ship here or anything, but kids are excited about these things. They see their older siblings lifting weights. They see um, adults doing it and they want to do it as well, and they're starting to understand how it can help them in track and field or or basketball or whatever it is. So, we'll keep going there. Money and fundraising is my last thing on there. Um, sports are expensive. We all know that. And I think that we've gotten all of the the basic necessary needs for our athletic program so far.
So, now it's really just operational costs. Talk about paying refs, transportation, game fees, stuff like that. I'm going to be working a lot more with Nate um as he takes over ASB because Nate has done a fabulous job as a head coach bringing in money, but we can only ask so much from community donors and stuff. So, we're trying to get creative on how we are going to sustain athletics because we have all these great programs going, but it does come down to being able to pay for them as well. So Nate and I and Aaron have have met briefly about that and some things that we want to do moving forward, but that'll be a a point of um attention moving forward. Um first of all, thank you all again for having me on
here and um just any questions, desires, things you like, things you you want to see happen at at the school. I'm all ears and I I want to do what's best for the for the kids and the community. So, anything from you all? >> Thank you. >> Yeah, I mean I think I think I think I kind of speak for the board. I mean, we're all really excited to see all these sports coming back to East and I think that we're all very supportive of it. Uh so, I mean, if if we had the means to do it, whatever whatever students need in order to succeed, I think that we're we're willing to jump on board with that. >> Well, thank you. Yeah, I appreciate the support. Obviously with with support from all levels that
that moves things along much more quickly. So, thank you all. >> No, thank you. >> Thank you, Kyle, very much. >> All righty. Take care, everybody. >> Thanks, Kyle. >> There's Kyle. >> Julio. Clipping along here. Uh 6.3 superintendent report. >> Yeah, >> tracking because of the athletic. We have some up track updates. >> Yeah, >> Austin Brown 39 for Javelin. Aaron Brown 20th for Javelin. Lost the hickey ones. There was one. I think she was in second. >> Wow. That's really our kids are not just competing but excellent. Awesome to see. I love it. >> It's great. >> Love it. Love it. love it. Um, terms of superintendent reports, enrollment, uh, holding somewhat steady. We did lose one sixth grader from our March report, but overall 75.5 FTE and, uh, I'll pass on some
good news in terms of FTE here in a little bit. Uh, and I know Mr. Huitt is on the call with us, so he might answer some board questions as well. Um staffing as you saw on my HR report uh we are have been interviewing candidates. We have hired the math teacher. Uh you guys hired him through the consent agenda and I will bring forward the English language arts position at next meeting. Um we interviewed great candidates. Uh we interviewed five for the math position and total of seven for the ELA. um had lots of cand more candidates than I've ever seen since my tenure here, which is uh a great thing for East, but it does speak to I guess the kind of overall conditions of the state. Uh you know, lots of districts
around us are unfortunately having to rift and so people are looking for um positions. Good news for us. Um but we we have some really good people that are coming on board with us. So very excited about that. uh open ed we continue to uh kind of go through the process and uh you can see that uh I've uh in included some links to the open ed website actually the opened website now has a a certain portal for Washington you click on you know the icon for state of Washington takes you to the the application process and Mr. Huitt said as of uh last week 501 families have started the application process. So that's 501 families from across uh the state of Washington. So I'm not sure what the completion rate is of that is
but it's uh certainly incredible for for us and uh to our bottom line. But I've also included some information guides from the opened website and our uh agreement that we signed with them back in March of 2025. So we have been working on this for over a year and it's kind of exciting to see how things are are coming right to the wire. So Grant, I don't know if you're able to speak with the board and if there's anything else that you would like to add. Um please please do. >> Yeah. No, I appreciate it and I sorry I can't be there tonight. Uh your weather is probably better uh than mine, probably cooler and nicer. Um but the numbers uh the 501 uh as as superintendent mentioned was from last week. Let me give
you the number as of like 20 minutes ago. Um we're up to 551. Um we've had 747 uh families who've expressed interest uh in the program and um you know as the board takes action tonight to approve the final um uh board policies that allow the alternative learning uh program to operate. We will open our uh enrollment funnel. So, right now, we've just been collecting interest and student grades, names, birth dates. Uh, but we'll start enrolling uh students as soon as the board takes their action tonight. And so, we'll then start reporting to you uh about how many families have started uh to actually provide us with birth certificates, vaccination reports, all of the things needed. Um, so we're we're really excited about where uh where this sits. Uh the interest has been great. a
lot of questions from families. Um, but everybody's pretty excited about it. So, we know uh a lot of our families from Oregon have been talking to Washington families. Uh, we think that's where a lot of our initial interest has gone. We have spent very little uh resources on marketing. This is all pretty much word of mouth right now. Uh, and so we're excited about about the outcome. >> So, Grant, is this typical of like when you've launched another state these numbers or are they higher or lower? Yeah, great question. Um, we was just talking about this uh today. These are these are a lot higher uh for a first uh for first envoy into a state. We're excited about that. Normally, we find ourselves in the 100 to 200 uh students in the first year.
Now, I'm not going to say all 551 are going to convert, but uh historically, we'll convert about 60% of those who apply. So, it's still a really uh impressive number. >> Yeah, that's that's amazing. Well, as I put in my report, our partnership with with you guys will be a gamecher for us. So, >> yes. And and I want to I just want to stress to every because I know when I was there in the past, we talked about, you know, uh first year jitters, uh you know, working out the kinks in the first year. We we have seen the demand from from families and we are meeting that demand with increased um staffing on our side uh around compliance around our Washington program. We are hiring some very dedicated staff. Um in many of
our states we have kind of multiaceted people who oversee multiple states. uh in Washington from our learning division, we will have a dedicated Washington program director um because we see that the demand is that high and we also want to ensure that we are um uber compliant and and on the right side of of every question. Um we have obviously uh legal counsel that the Washington legal council retained and um we're meeting with them weekly. Uh so we're we're really excited about it. We're investing uh for the future. we see a a bright and long future in Washington with these numbers. >> Well, it uh it's uh putting a smile on my face. I hope that's the putting a smile on the board's face, too. >> Capital roll. >> We'll we'll we'll cap it when
we get there. >> And on the board, >> we'll let we'll let it roll. >> That sounds like if it becomes too much, you need to speak up. I'm I'm bringing it on. contest for the state that on boards the most. >> There may come a time where we do have to cap it, but you know >> well and what what I would what I would say to the board and I'd say it to Aaron in private before you do that you come talk to me and say how can we help you make it easier to enroll these kids and get them into the system in the way they need to. We are we want to make sure this is an easy process for you. It's not a time inensive process for you and we
want to make sure that that you see no reason to cap the excitement that's going. >> Absolutely. >> I like that. >> Come to come to us before you have that conversation. We want to find uh mutually beneficial solutions. >> We'll do. >> Thank you very much, Grant. Appreciate it. Thank you. >> Thank you. >> Um just an update. I know Jeff will probably talk a little bit more in depth about this, but you know, it was just basically less than a month ago that, you know, one day at lunch about 11 o'clock, we started tearing down the the the bleachers and now we got new flooring, you know, waiting to be installed on Monday. So, it's been a bit of a whirlwind. Uh had lots of students help us out that first day. We,
you know, we had drills out and socket wrenches and the kids are we're having a lot of fun. Uh but yeah, a little over two hours we had basically had stripped the bleachers of all of the the wood decking. So it's pretty pretty impressive. Kids were pretty fired up. Uh we do still have the wood from the bleachers and that will be either used by our our classes here or perhaps on surplus, but it's it's not going to waste. Uh as mentioned in my report, asbestous has been removed. Uh Jeff has been working with some waterproofing folks to see how we can address those issues. And and the last part is our last part, excuse me, is we have a little poll for our gym design. And it it has see if I can click
on it. Oops, I've already responded, so it's not going to let me click in, but option seven was the one that uh got got selected by the people that uh participated. So, I'll send out an email. I think actually I sent it up today to to the board. Uh you'll see what that was. They're still working out what logo we want in the middle. Um some people didn't like the roaring Jag. They wanted the old school Jag. Some people some people wanted the E. So we'll do another little poll for that. But overall basically the uh >> it's not the one with all the black lines. >> No, that one was >> that was beyond our price point. So, >> the more >> bells and whistles you have on there, the the more it costs.
So, uh been an exciting project and I know Jeff is going to share some other good news and progress reports in his report. But, uh you know, between open ed and what we're doing with our facilities, things are uh things are happening here in East and I'm very proud. >> Moving on to 6.4 ops report Jeff. >> All right. Uh okay. Okay. So, starting with the key card access system, that uh that project's complete. Uh we're fully operational with the key card system. Now, you'll notice that the doors are all green. That actually means the doors are locked now. So, it's been taking some time for everybody to get used to that, but um it's working great. I'm I'm happy with it. And uh the program, we just uh went through some training, learn how
to get the cards in there. Um so, now instead of just one person knowing how to do it, um I know how to do it. Mr. Steve Harper knows how to do it. And then, um Mr. Cummings knows how to do it. So in the event that somebody is absent, well um we can we have multiple people that can troubleshoot. So that'll make kind of the future um things operate smoothly and and with that uh moving on to the gym floor project. Super excited about this one. Yeah. Uh like Aaron had mentioned, you had some students down there. Treore those bleachers down no time at all. Um got some testing done. We didn't have to uh spend any extra money on disposal because there is no lead in the paint. So that was uh that
was uh satisfying to hear. Um so got that disposed of uh pretty smoothly. The flooring came up pretty smoothly. Um the air clearance came back. No asbestous in the gym. So we have fully evaded the asbesus in there. Um which is really nice. Yeah. Um, so now we move on to the next step which essentially u oh actually real quick the uh Mr. Ted Web was sound waterproofing he did come out and look at the gym. He said essentially what he had said is um there's not much he can do as far as waterproofing goes inside the gym. Uh mainly because of the mastic material that it absorbed into the concrete. Um it wouldn't absorb any of the waterproofing stuff that he would apply. It would have just be a surface application. The water would
just push it off after a short time. So it would have need to be done from the outside. So I'm still kind of exploring options with that. Um working with Gford Industries, I've asked them, you know, okay, how how can we work this so we eliminate or reduce any water intrusion from um say the southside wall, which is where we see most of it come from, where the parking lot meets that. And there's that subgrade right there. Um, essentially what Gford said is they'll take the six mill membrane rather than just laying it on the floor to lay it on the floor and run it up the wall a little bit and secure it with uh the u the trim that goes around the wall right there. That should help with that quite a bit.
Um there's uh when I asked about whether you know it was going to warp the floor, they said, you know, given the amount of time that it took it to warp the existing floor to now, they said they're not too concerned about it. But if in the event it does, it's not like they got to take up the entire floor. All they need to do is replace the wood around the edge and it'll be fine. I said it's not a terribly expensive thing, but they don't foresee it being a problem, especially with the six mil membrane band down there. So, they're not too terribly concerned about it. I think I'm concerned about it than anything. Um, but things are rolling right along. Um, they got the asbesus baitment done a full week ahead of schedule.
So that allows us to kind of maintain that momentum um to now on Monday we'll be starting the process of getting that floor in. It is beautiful wood. It is very very nice wood. So they're going to put that down and then um about four to six weeks and then after that they'll put the um that protective coating over it, the resin coating over it and uh they'll paint the lines and then put the resin coating on there. We had to make a few adjustments to where the game lines were. Not not significantly massive adjustments. Um we we wanted to move the lines closer to the bleachers and farther off that um west wall. Um we can still accomplish that, but rather than 5' 10 inches off the wall, the game lines being 5' 10
inches off that western wall, then that be 5' 4 in. And that's simply to accommodate a walking aisle when the bleachers are fully out. So, say we get somebody with a wheelchair, it'll meet it'll still meet that 36 inch ADA compliance minimum ADA compliance. So, we'll still be able to accomplish that and move the game uh game lines to allow the team to sit on the other side of the schoolboard as well as the school table. Um so, yeah, we're moving right along. Uh the bleachers are set July 17th. The they're going to start installing those. Um I've got an electrician that's going to come in. He's able to install three-phase power so that way we can get power to those bleachers. And so they're working together uh to get that plan going. And hopefully
things just keep going smoothly and uh I I find that the more we communicate, work together, the uh the smoother it goes. I think is the best way to go. So Harve Gford is outstanding to work with, super easy. Uh absolutely is on board with making our lives as easy as possible through the whole process. So that's been awesome. All right, moving on to the athletic field. We do have the scoreboard installed. Now, the next part is getting the soil Oh, well, I'm ahead of myself here. We have the scoreboard installed and the irrigation valve box is moved off the playing field and back to uh where the scoreboard closer to where the scoreboard is. Makes a safer uh playing field. You don't have to worry about holes and ruts and everything like that. The
athletes stepping through a valve box. So, that works. Um thanks to Denny Improvement. They were uh phenomenal. Very quick. They got the job done in about two days and uh they added some sprinkler heads to ensure that we have proper coverage so that way we have nice green grass that they can play on. Um after that um then comes the point we're kind of in the final phase of the athletic field where it's getting fill dirt in top soil in and planting the seed. Um once we have that done the field will be ready to go after we get electric hooked up. The initial proposal was to get a cord attached to the scoreboard so we could hook it up to a generator, run a generator, and then in the future getting the scoreboard hardwired.
The electrician came out, um, Iron Creek Electrical came out, he said, "Why wouldn't we just hardwire it now?" He said, "It's really not going to be all that expensive. It's very simple process." And because the scoreboard takes such a small amount of power, he said essentially it takes the amount of power that it would take to run a normal light bulb. Not an LED light bulb, but just a normal light bulb, right? And the scoreboard is all LED, so very minimal power consumption. So I'm working with the water district and seeing if I can negotiate something where we can tie into power there. Um, and then uh and so we just have the scoreboard hardwired. there will be a lock box there where we'll have onoff switch for that score wirelessly do our scoring that
so kind of a process then work with the water district to find out you know what what does an agreement look like uh with regard to using the um uh pump house out there as a power hookup is the easiest way to do so waiting to hear back from on that and see if we can work something out um and then yeah and then it's just getting that uh soil in there leveled and uh getting the hydro seed in. We can get the hydro seed in. Essentially what that does as opposed to normal seed, it reduces the amount of time that it takes the grass to grow and get established so we can play on it sooner rather than later. And that'll um I I think that will put us perfectly right where we need
to be so we can have some games this next football season. That is the goal. That's what we're pushing for right now. Um the momentum we have, it's looking like that can happen. Um, I just want to make sure I'm maintaining that momentum and we're doing what we need to do to uh get that accomplished. >> Um, let's see. Uh, is there any questions as far as the maintenance reports goes? >> Yeah, we have applied for a turf grass uh grant >> as well and we'll hear about that I think in a couple weeks to help offset some of those costs. >> Hey, if I could throw one more thing in there just coming to mind thinking about the athletic field bleachers. If anybody has any sort of connection to some sort of portable bleachers
that we could get in, um, that'd be fabulous. Reach out to me. I'm early in that process, but it's on my to-do list trying to figure out some seating for home and away fans. >> Thank you, Kyle. >> All right, moving on to the transportation report. Uh, so Washington State uh patrol inspection set for May 4th. I'm confident that we should pass that with no problem. Um, the bus has been running fine. Not a lot of issues there. Um, sometime this week I'm going to get underneath there, crawl around underneath the buses and inside the buses, make sure things copacetic uh with them and uh but I don't see any uh issues right now as far as that goes. Um, we do have a new CDL driver, Miss Andy Stout. She passed her CDL test.
She did it on her second try. Um, I'm quite happy with her performance. Um, she did an excellent job. She really did. I think she should be proud of herself. I'm quite proud of her. Um, just because it took me three times and other districts, it's taken them four or five times. So, she did it two tries and she did a great job. So, um, so she's been taken on route three, that's the Clay Ellm route, which helps out immensely, relieves, uh, relieves a lot of stress, opens up, uh, avenues of transportation, not only for the athletic district, but also for families that are looking maybe to come to East End, but transportation is the issue. So, now we got to have that in our in our back pocket to to utilize as we need
to. >> That's it. >> Three buses. >> Pretty cool. We're getting a fleet. Love it. >> Thank you, Jeff. >> Yeah. Thank you. Anybody on the board have a member report? >> Nothing for me. >> Yeah. Nothing for me. >> Fabulous. June 27th is the um Snowy Pass parade. the biggest little bread 11 a.m. >> start communicating with them around 110 but it's it's pretty much very total um and Katie Marone who runs Lonia. >> Okay. >> I'll connect with you at a later time and we can >> cool. Cool. Very good. >> Fabulous. Moving on to financial update. Cole. >> Hello. So, this first graph here is our cash balance and the purple line is our current year. So, our cash is um landing at $980,000 and the orange line is our minimum fund
balance policy. So, everything looks great there. And then our budget status report there. We are 58% of the way through the year. We've received about 50% of our budgeted revenues. We've spent about 51% of our budgeted expenditures, leaving our ending fund balance at $991,000. And then moving on to capital projects funds. And these reports are as of March. Um our ending fund balance is 391,000. debt service um is at 32. It's basically just our transfer account and our transportation vehicle fund has $129,000 and about now we're just gearing up to budget um getting ready to budget for next year. Um Eron and I might talk about because we have that huge 5,000 or $5 million grants um that'll flow through the capital projects fund. we might want to transfer a little bit of money from
our general fund to the capital projects fund to cover any invoices that we get because the grant is a reimburseable grant, meaning we have to spend the funds first. So, as we pay invoices so it doesn't drop down our um we don't want our capital projects fund to go negative at all. Um we might put a little extra in there for a cushion. Um but we're going to work through all the details here in the next probably month as we um start budgeting for next fiscal year 2627. Perfect. >> Does anybody out of the ordinary, Nicole? >> Nope. Everything's looking really good. I've been I've been pretty happy. And um the biggest thing for me right now is just um figuring out how to budget our ALA kiddos. >> Perfect. >> Cool. Moving along here.
Um we have nothing more discussion. So, >> thank you, Nicole. >> Oh, yes. Thank you, Nicole. >> I'm losing my mind over here. Um, all right. Uh, moving on to section nine, uh, second reading on policy 2255. >> So, this was introduced to us last meeting, uh, from open ed, and I would recommend that the board adopt, uh, policy 2255. >> I make the motion to adopt policy 2255. >> I'll second. All in favor? >> I I Perfect. >> Thank you very much. >> Okay. 9.2 Eastern Memorial Day Committee and Campus Access Resolution. >> Just our annual resolutions to support the East community and the Memorial Day efforts, use of, you know, water if they need it or power to plug in the the jumpy houses for the kids and things like that. Just so
we're we're good uh good citizens for our community. So I would ask the board to uh pass resolution 9-20 2025.26. >> I'll make the motion. >> I will second the motion. >> All in favor? >> I. >> And lastly is >> Same same but different annual resolution with East and Fire Auxiliaries um to support their annual Cascade Crest 100 mile race that they use. I think our ice machines and some other things on campus. Again, being good stewards and good uh citizens of our community to help them make it happen for the community. >> If they run 100 miles, they can have the ice >> and Cascade the Cascade Crest has been very generous in donations to the district as well. So, thank them for that. >> A year or two ago, they decided to
keep the money local. Yes. Not >> We appreciate it. So, >> I'd like to make a motion to approve that. Well, do we have a second? >> I have a second. >> All in favor? >> I >> perfect. Well, that thank you everyone. Okay, with 10.1, we do not have exact session for tonight. Correct. >> No updates in exact. No, no news is good news. >> This is great. Moving right along here. Uh, and then we are at section 11. Sharing of good news. Anybody got anything? I think a lot of it's already been said. You know, all that is the school is in a great position right now. I think that >> with with all the sports happening with the I and everything's just kind of coming together. So, let's uh hope it continues.
>> Not going. really loving the energy the seniors are are bringing to their their final year here and their graduation as well. Well, and I think all these projects going on and all the athletics, I think it it it reinvigorates pride within the student body, you know, like >> because now they go to a school that offers all the same sports that does, you know, and you know that one of our seniors, if she was 18, by the time she graduated, she'd be a certified EMT at the same time, but she won't be. >> So, she'll be done with EMT class and have to wait till she's 18, but she's doing extremely well. So >> I see you in an office studying this >> textbook and it's about yay big highlight her >> she is
cranking away. >> He's doing awesome >> and our our seniors have been excited about graduation since they were juniors about this about this time and they've been planning it. So um exciting things. It's spring and got some field trips coming up. Uh got some campouts going to Levenorth with the high school kids. So things are, like I said, things have all the good stuff's already been said. >> Did Did Peterson did he graduate East Houston? >> Will he? >> Yeah. >> Yep. Same as me. >> So we do have >> We do have an alumni that just opened that just purchased the Hitching Post, Dana. >> I think it opens Memorial Day. >> That's what they're shooting for. >> Yeah. So I saw lots of fridges being delivered today. I think Pepsi or Coca-Cola the
display cases and whatnot. So, >> yes, I've already given them East T-shirts. So, perfect. >> I took care of that. >> I think their youngest daughter is a junior. >> Yeah. Yeah, she is. >> Yeah. So, >> and >> I was like, "Hey, does anybody know has anybody met the the family that's opening Peterson's all the kids staring at like >> It'll be nice to have that back open for it." Yeah. Make a huge >> Looks like they've done a lot of work on there, too. >> Willie and Jenner, awesome people. Yep. >> Awesome. Cool. Well, anything else for the good of the order before we all get to go home and go enjoy our Tuesday night. >> Do I have a motion to adjourn the meeting? >> I'll make a motion. I will I
will second the motion. >> All in favor? >> I Perfect. >> All right. >> Thank you everybody. Go unload or start tuning in.
