[Music] hello and welcome to the Henry Cabot Lodge Fieldhouse here in Beverly Massachusetts thank you for watching the Bev cam Sports Network on channel 22 I'm Alex silico flying solo tonight to bring you the five and four Beverly Panthers hosting before and for Malden golden tornadoes odd name I'm not gonna say anything else about it I just don't like it so we're here at Beverly High School Beverly lost their last matchup it was a heartbreak against Lynn classical it was tough down the stretch Beverly was in position it was freshman Alyssa Moreland with the coast to coast and one to put them up Beverly then fouled with 2.2 seconds left on the clock to give classical to lead again after some free throws and once apparently got the ball back head coach substantial called the
timeout but with no timeouts left that was a technical foul the ball was given back to when classical four free throws and that ultimately was the game and now if you want to say he was unfunny say he wasn't aware of the situation that's fair but also it was an instinctual situation in that situation you expect to have a timeout left you want to get your group back together and we say it all the time in midseason games we talked about with players if they make a mistake like that that it's gonna help them grow it's gonna be better for the team in the long run because you know you should have had that game against classical and if that goes for players as well you can say the same thing about coaches you know
that's never gonna happen again for says Sancho he's never gonna make the same mistake like that him and this team is better for that happening because now they'll just bring that much more focus into each and every game here this season a few minutes away from tip-off we already know Beverly led by the freshman ELISA Moreland last week 21 points 26 ports 11 blocks unofficially triple-double she had herself a night played very well in the defensive side again against Lin classical struggled offensively ended up getting out of those struggles and performing to her abilities at the end of that game this Maltin team comes in at 4 and 4 this is a new team in the NEC Beverly's not really used seeing them in recent years or even all-time two captains for them senior McKenzie
furlong and senior Tiffany tortora lead the charge for the golden tornadoes it's gonna be interesting Beverly needs this game they need five more wins to qualify for tournament play in the NEC [Music] [Applause] look at this Beverly Team schedule over the course of this season they've beaten some pretty good teams especially in the NEC South if you look at it they beat the leading Danvers the second-place saugus team and as well as Swampscott and other teams in the south so they are taking care of business in the south when they have to go ahead and look at the standings for the any ceil in classical two wins in the past few days were excuse me over a course of five days for the Rams against Beverly they're sitting there at nine and one overall eight
no in league play then followed by Revere at five and O in the league 6 and 2 overall and Beverly sitting there in third and you look below everybody every team below commenting Marblehead Peabody all those teams are inferior now I'm not saying or virulent classflow superior to this Beverly team because Beverly played them really close in classical Rams few nights ago everybody in this NEC North can be beaten everybody in the NEC South can be beaten there's no reason to say that Beverly is not the best team in this conference when this season is said and done they've played that well against the top opponents we'll see in the Revere game down the stretch we don't play them until fit at Revere that'll be another telling game but they beat that danvers team that
one loss you see next to danvers that came to the hands of Beverly could have given one class Glo loss also in league play but it's gonna be a story for another day maybe you'll see them actually you won't see them they're not in Division one anymore they actually got bumped down so we'll not be seeing the Rams in the playoffs now that Revere game on February 13th I'm sure everybody will be circling on their schedule it's Breast Cancer Awareness night here be Henry Cabot Lodge Fieldhouse we will have starting lineups momentarily starting lineup for Beverly it looks like it's going to be [Applause] Beaudry Bernard Anderson dodge and Sprague so no more than the starting line starting lineup for Malden [Music] Mackenzie for long [Applause] we have stringers Silva out there also [Applause] Audrey
Carlton as well as bez it out there rounding out the starting lineup number 23 tor tor another captain for the golden tornadoes [Music] Beverly's squad will be introduced and he said it's Anderson Bernard go drew gotcha and spray and we're gonna go to the court well we let the Beverly High School ROTC present the colors [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] opening tip underway momentarily his Malden team coming off of a 38-point win at Salem for that they were at Averett lost by 22 you don't know what you're gonna get out of this Malden team put up big points they've put up ducks also lost to a Peabody team this season Peabody team that has only one win so Beverly looking to get the job done here at home proved their conference record make up ground on
Revere annalen classical tip won by the Panthers Beaudry to Anderson in the corner Malden coming out with a 2-3 zone Anderson for three from the corner no good rebound Malden tortora [Applause] for a long bringing the ball up [Music] stringer Silva over to the corner tour tour now going up against Prague off the mark rebound Bernard Anderson mid-range Jay can't get it to go she's old for two tonight but she grabs that board tries to put it up can't be called for a travel [Applause] gosh applying pressure it's in the corner using a pick mid-range Jay can't go offensive board golden tornadoes they throw it back up defense by Bogut furlong puts it in for the first points of the game - Oh lead for the golden tornado Sprague now in the corner Bernard thinking
about a shot cross-court pass Beaudry has it deflected that was blocked by tortora both are gonna come away at the board are gonna get a jump ball it's gonna go to Malden stringer Silva guarded by Anderson sprayed with the help Dee Bernard comes over to help they dish it off put it up no good Anderson comes away with the board but she steps out of bounds it's gonna stay with Malden inbound play looking for a stringer Silva end up getting it in Sprague hands up but it falls two points there for number 12 it's Carlton [Music] [Applause] Beverly down for Oh early looking for Beaudry she gets it to her drops it down Bernard for three back iron rebound Malden that's furlong she's off to the races Beaudry in pursuit three no good offensive board
taken away Bernard ends up with it heads-up play by Beaudry who allowed that rebound to furlong but picked her pocket Sprague post moves the hook no good as tortora has it taken away from Bernard but she goes stumbling out of bounds [Applause] for a long driving left on Beaudry tries to drop it down the bezel she gets by and an an one there is weird play she was stumbling forward I believe Sprague is gonna be called with that you know it's gonna be Bernard six Oh lead for Malden Bernard her first foul on the evening as it knocks it down the old-fashioned three-point play seven I'll lead for the golden tornadoes Beverly trying to get something going put some points on the board with Moreland on the bench it's got Anderson thinking about a three
passes to Sprague has it stolen Carlton that looks like she almost stepped out of bounds their referee wasn't looking [Applause] for long using the pick it's Carlton the corners bezel tortora elbow got it to go I know golden tornadoes lead no timeouts being called from head coach says stanchion just yet tortora her first two points four scores now from all that as that's turned over Malden looking to take a double-digit lead as we're gonna get us a couple substitutions soon for the Panthers it'll be baekje and white hair Fez it portora good move but it's a travel white heron baekje in forgotten spray they're really going small here Beaudry bringing up the ball baekje white hair loses control gets it out then range j4 Beaudry off the mark rebound carlton come the other way now
[Applause] [Music] 3:38 left to go in the first quarter Beverly trailing nine nothing tortora with contact no foul called offensive board crawl ttan white hair brings it down she tries to blow a little too quickly as it poked away and pins up the hands of carlton two points for them we're gonna get a timeout from head coach says nancial as Malden leads 11 nothing early in this first quarter Carlton leading the golden tornadoes in scoring with four she's also got two boards for long with two points and two boards three points from bezu and two for tortora with three boards and assists of her own no points for the Panthers Moreland still on the bench barely will send out Anderson Bakey white hair Barnard as well as McCarthy so a young group for the Panthers
going out there same five from Aldens out there we're gonna have tortora for a long bezel in that time out from substantial as you could tell there was no coach in the huddle appears as if he's letting him coach themselves don't know what that means don't know can only speculate but might have something to do with the game against Lin classical and how the end of that one ended white hair excuse me that was McCarthy gets it down the white hair McCarthy now Bernard white hair mid-range Jay couldn't get it to go rebound tortora [Applause] [Music] [Applause] offensive board Carlton trying to put it up she can't stringer Silva kicks it out it's bez it could cast a furlong down the tortora lot of passing stringer Silva four three gap it's all five starters for
the golden tornadoes on the board 14-nothing lead for the Panthers McCarthy now bringing it out faking Bernard Anderson for three couldn't get it to go down low it's Bernard passed a few defenders Beverly's on the board now Bernard for to see if that will spark something in the Panthers here 14 to 2 left to go in the first quarter furlong drops it down to Carlton white hair with the defense she's going to rip it away from Carlton good play by the freshman three from baekje off the mark white hair though at the board she kicks it out to Anderson to three of her own couldn't get it to go and we're gonna get a travel called on bez it's gonna be with the Panthers now [Applause] [Music] McCarthy Bakey for three off the only ill-advised
shot off the mark almost traveled with that one 1:15 left to go in the first quarter for a long past half court drives pass multiple Beverley defenders offensive board tortora puts it up for two clinic right now Beverley not playing well the offense or defensive side of the ball [Applause] McCarthy Anderson she'll Drive mid-range Jay couldn't get it to go and it's going to go to Malden barely really missing the size right now of not only Moreland but Gaucho and Sprague who subbed out quickly in this first quarter Carlton coming out in her place will be Joe excuse me nope that's Darcy Cummings for long for three off the mark Anderson with the rebound 26 seconds left in this first quarter shot clock turned off Beverly trying to gain some momentum Bernard for three off
the mark rebound Cummings for long with it now Cummings looking for tortora she gets it to Joe and we're gonna get a foul on bez it will be her first and called for the push 6.9 on the clock another substitution as Camille Nomi jr. slowly will enter the game McCarthy has clock running down Bakey Anderson in the corner three seconds left off the side of the backboard that was not gonna get another shot attempt so at the end of one Beverly trail 16 tit to know Moreland in that first quarter and really no substantial so we'll see what happens moving forward Moreland now checking in Stan shil in the huddle now I wonder if there's only speculation but maybe he felt like he deserved a one quarter suspension for the way he called that timeout
at the end of that game on Monday and if that's the case you like to see that out of your coach hold yourself accountable as well as your players got a set an example expect a much more focused in a much more energetic Beverly team moving forward after that 16 to 2 1st quarter it's going to be Moreland out there with baekje Bernard McCarthy and Anderson [Applause] only two points for the Panthers coming from Bernard all five starters from Malden have scored [Applause] sixteen two three from Anderson got it right out the gates in the second quarter Anderson knocks down a three [Applause] Panthers are back focused in this one as they force a turnover all momentum early just 20 seconds in to this second quarter is on the Beverly side McCarthy taking the ball
up she has Bernard next to her drop it down to Moreland triple team to McCarthy for three she got that one to go two quick threes for the Panthers right out of the gate in Beverly is back in business [Music] [Applause] 16 to 8 tortora guarded by Moreland off the mark rebound Bakey McCarthy charging drives right Bakey Moreland at the top of the arc it's baekje now head fake to Anderson Bakey looking down low to Moreland has it poked away Anderson comes away with it 10 seconds on the shot clock drops it down to Moreland she's looking to pass Anderson another three another Meg Beverly three for three from downtown to start this second quarter and the Panthers are in this a 900 run for Beverly to start this second quarter they cut the lead
down to five off the mark white hair excuse me not white here McCarthy with it now charging Anderson can she get another off the mark he checked there from Anderson we're gonna get a foul believe on McCarthy 621 left in the second Beverly on a 9-0 run gosh we'll check in on the next whistle Joe with the ball for a long out Joe guarded by Anderson portora thinking about driving on Moreland a three from furlong in the corner no good rebound Anderson goes up and gets it three boards for her in six points McCarthy pushing it up Moreland can't handle it she ends up getting control past the defense puts it up for two Portland's on the warm eleven Oh run might get a timeout here from Alden head coach Scott Murray no team not
looking too hot to start this second quarter this is a passionate and more inspired Beverly squad as Carlton gets the offensive board and Anderson collects the miss M'Lynn on the high post Bernard she'll be fouled she'll shoot - that's Bessette second [Music] my thoughts down the first peasant will sit with two fouls coming censors in her place both free-throws knockdown from Bernard she's got four as gosh answers enters for her thirty no run to start this second quarter by the Panthers 16 to 2 at the start of it were three minutes in Beverly only down 16 15 furlong the running jumper another miss another board for Anderson she already has five go along with six points double-double alert Anderson another three got it and Anderson's on fire nine points all by way of three in
this second quarter [Applause] Joe for three of our own ends the run puts Malden back up and we're gonna get a timeout from Alden as they lead 1918 after that three from Joe [Music] Joe now with six but Beverly was on a huge run of beginning of this second quarter through trailing 16 - they got it to 1816 1600 run before Maldon ends it with that three from zel you see their head coach chef Stan shil in his third season with the Panthers and again we're not sure why he didn't do much or didn't do anything at all in that first quarter you saw him in that huddle or not in that hull but the girls really coached themselves through that first quarter maybe it was him punishing himself who knows if it is I
like to move didn't play too well in that first quarter but once they were back there's a much more focus Beverly team nine points for Anderson already in the second quarter not even halfway through three from McCarthy two from Bernard [Music] McCarthy's pass is tipped by furlong she's going to follow her [Applause] [Music] second foul from McCarthy Beaudry will most likely come in for her she does for long so taking a pic from tortora long to off the mark rebound Gaucho gets it up to Beaudry quickly up to Moreland she's unstoppable in for two to four Moreland the assist coming from Beaudry [Music] portora guarded by Moreland trying to create separation but Moreland sends her packing grabs the board quickly pushes it up to Anderson Anderson one-on-one with Cummings no foul call Becky tries to
say that she doesn't substitution is Anderson really seems to have the wind knocked out of her no charge no block call on that McCarthy quickly back in after being subbed out [Music] so guarded by McCarthy torture' now Cummings mid-range J no good McCarthy with the board going the other way now her second tonight nice pass Moreland all wide open gets that one to fall calling for a foul against tortora but Moreland has really just unstoppable six points since entering this one in the second quarter Beverly leading now 20 to 19 they were trailing at the end of one 16 2 to tail the two quarters as Moreland plays D on her long and again on tortora she's got to be called for the foul her first then the three points being scored in this quarter
so far by the golden tornadoes over Laura knots down that free-throw as it re-enters for Cummings as it has two fouls second free throw off the mark Moreland grabs it she's already off quickly gets it to Beaudry Beverly has numbers Beaudry thinking about dropping it off to baekje for three no good rebound bezel [Applause] 2:40 left to play in the second quarter Joe looking for furlong she's gonna take a three good form doesn't fall McCarthy with the board Bakey thinking about a three has it deflected by she'll pass was intended for Beaudry quick sub for the golden tornado Joe's out in her place will be number two Mele Ephraim Beaudry down to Moreland kicks it out it's McCarthy for three now off the mark board Beaudry Bakey in the corner Beaudry drives right pulls up
no good Moreland offensive board puts down his shoulder throws it up can't get it to go it's coming the other way now furlong one-on-one with Beaudry stop and pop no good kept in there by Carlton it's bez it now for a long 147 left to play in the first half gonna get a charge and furlong stands Boulder to the ground but Beaudry gets the call way to sell it [Applause] she took that one hard as McCarthy in Moreland exits Prague and Anderson entered 20 to 20 panther lead 142 left to play in the second quarter pay key to Sprague in the corner back to Becky she'll try another three this time still off the mark Beaudry her pastor Anderson intercepted by Cummings back the other way now as it took tortora good move putting it
to the floor two points for the golden tornadoes were all died here at 22 Bakey to Beaudry Anderson baking open for three she'll take the shot she'll make the shot 25 20 to bake he puts Beverly up three her first points of the evening this Beverly team has just erupted 23 points for the Panthers after only scoring two in the first quarter Malden probably felt good coming out at quarter number one with a 16 to lead but Beverly quickly put those hopes to rest as Anderson deflects out 1 and we're going to get a jump on we're gonna get a Beverly possession I believe no it's gonna stay with Malden [Music] for a long coming off a screen they get it to tortora but it's deflected by baekje sprague playing defense on the senior captain
Cummings for three in front of Anderson no good new shot clock after the offensive board furlong goes up Sprague eventually coming away with a good job by Beaudry doing her best Tyson Chandler impersonation tipping that one back out to the three-point line jump all this time it will stay with Beverly [Music] we'll of you to inbound it she's got a wide open baekje in the corner takes out for a long a couple times Sprague from the foul line no good Carlton keeps it in three seconds left on the clock furlongs gonna have to even from half course she does on the mark but just a little short so after the first half Beverly leads 25 22 23 points for the Panthers in that second quarter only 6 for Malden Bell did a great job of
limiting Malden 'aa temps within the paint with Moreland back in Sprague playing some defense as well with Koch they got the hike back in deflected some shots from this golden tornados team and Beverly who really did well more than one with six points in that second quarter Anderson had 9 all on three pointers Barnard added to baekje in McCarthy added 3 apiece and Anderson 9 points five boards so far for the Panthers she's on double-double watch who knows Beverly did not play very well in that first quarter we saw what happened with coach Dan sure we saw what happened with Moreland on the bench you know everything really came together in that second quarter 25 22 Beverly leading going into the second half we'll be back in a few minutes with more analysis and more

back to the Henry Cabot Lodge field house in Beverly Massachusetts thank you for watching Bev cam Sports Network on channel 22 or on our livestream at youtube.com backslash Bev cam TV Beverly leading 25 22 after trailing 16 to 2 after the first quarter while we have some time here at the beginning of the second half let's look at the road ahead for these Beverly Panthers few games coming up you're gonna be at Gloucester on the 23rd then they host a Salem team that is not doing very well this year really focus on the rotation what they want to do heading into the playoffs cuz this is a team who should not be overlooked especially when you have Moreland playing the way she is you have Anderson shooting the way she is and you have the
complementary pieces of the young and the old we have the veterans like Gaucho and Sprague in there as well then you have the young talent you have McCarthy playing well white-haired giving minutes as well as Bernard they have a coach like substantial to who was gonna devote everything he has into the rest of this season and imagine after that game against Lynn classical this is the last time I'll bring it up because I don't I don't want to bring it up if I don't have to I don't want to have to keep talking about it but what it reminded me of was or what he's doing now and what he did in that first quarter and moving on in this game reminded me of the Tim Tebow speech at Florida when he got that loss
and believed it was to LSU I'm not sure but that speech he gave after he said you're never gonna see somebody work as hard as I will the rest of the season you never gonna see a team fight as hard as us the rest of the season and I expect that from the Panthers after the way that one ended here on Monday night the Panthers team nobody wants to get in the way of shoutout Tim Tebow also for being invited back to the Mets sports training producer Robert Doakes huge Mets fan you'd Jets fan not sure he's a Tim Tebow guy but if I know Robert the way I think I do I'm pretty sure as a Tim Tebow guy Robertson might not attempt Tebow guy all right you heard it here Robert no one
Tebow the start of the second half Beverly leads by three locking change and a quarter they were trailing by 14 after 1 [Music] Moreland starting this quarter on the bench nice interception there by gaucho takes it away Beaudry now leading the charge up to bernard quick pass cross-court pass anderson for three no good Bernard can't handle the rebound but it's last touched by Malden it's gonna stay with the Panthers Bernard looking for Beaudry a long two got to go good arc from Beaudry the junior captain first points for her tonight did come early in this third quarter to give Beverly a four-point lead excuse me five-point lead Joe in the corner trying to match no good Anderson with the board her sixth Beaudry to Anderson on the corner back to Beaudry Gaucho now at the
top Sprague pivots has it deflected by Joe she can't maintain control that that will sail out of bounds back to Beverly Cummings enters for bezel Beaudry taking a pic from anderson bernard now back to Beaudry this time for three can't get it to go tortora with the board Bernards down there trying to rip it free it's gonna stay with the Panthers first time I've seen Bernard played this season definitely plays with fire gives it all in the defensive end of the court as well as that's blocked by furlong Sprague can't control it Bernard only a sophomore as well to go along with his young core that looks to be set up for the future for the next few years for long down to tortora guarded by Sprague tortora pulls up no good rebound Bernard so
forth [Applause] pass from Beaudry to Gaucho off the mark 601 left to go on the third the two points scored in the first two minutes of this quarter those by Beaudry code recovering furlong drops it down at the Torah Zoo driving right on Anderson Anderson will be called for the foul [Applause] Joel suit chute - did you knocks it down she has seven tonight can't get the second to go and it looked like Cummings pushed Sprague there at the end of that play will be called for a foul and get called for a push was very emphatic call by that referee under the basket actually scared me just a little bit Barnard trying to drop it down deflected by shoe with meant for Sprague 533 left in the third [Music] Sprague for an easy two
can't get it to go rebound for Tora timeout called by Malden Beverly leads 27 23 with five and a half left to go in the third quarter no Moreland yet in this third quarter Beaudry gosh Bernard Sprague and Anderson still will be out there slow-moving third quarter which is two and a half minutes into it only three total points scored two from Beaudry one free throw from Shu [Applause] resume play furlong bringing the ball up through the golden tornadoes port or guarded by Sprague dropped it down the furlong guarded by Bernard now Joe with a nice move gets past the defender her shot off the mark Carlton keeps it in into the arms of Anderson though Beaudry now bringing it up for the Panthers five minutes left in the third Bernard thinking about a 3-2
Gaucho Anderson Beaudry long to seems to be her range off the mark though Josh coming away with the board can get a foul on Cummings I believe V her second second team foul from Walden both are looking for gosh gosh using the backboard Carlton comes away with the rebound that's her fifth to go along with four points woman we'll check in next whistle she'll be coming in for Tora [Music] [Applause] Barnard drops it down to Bodrum voter uses the pic drops it down Sprague she'll be fouled by tortora Sprague will shoot two misses the first baekje in forgot one still kneeling at the table she'll be entering for Sprague Sprague misses both [Applause] we've reached the 4-minute mark in the third quarter very slow third quarter for both teams for long the running jumper off
the mark it'll go to the Panthers in Moreland will enter for Sprague Moreland in that second quarter six points three boards one assist one block Beaudry gets it past half court can see they're double-teaming Moreland leaving a wide-open Bakey in Wolens gonna be called for three seconds [Applause] comings to tortora Moreland with the defense off the mark warlin grabs the board quickly to Beaudry quickly gets it past half court baekje with another three got it Maggie for free she's got six tonight stanza Beverly's lead up to 7 now just under three left to play in the third furlong trying to work on Beaudry the running hook off the mark barnard grabs the board she has five now to go along with four points Beaudry quickly up to baekje set it going with a heat check
she drives can't get it to go furlong comes away with it she's running the other way pulls up no good Shu with it now puts a move on but retreats back gets it to Bezeq for a long driving right on Beaudry time Beaudry gonna get called for the block took a charge earlier in this game [Music] [Applause] there's three throw off the mark McCarthy she'll come in for Beaudry after that foul Karthi three points three boards unofficially in her minutes both free-throws no good rebound Moreland that's her fifth thinking about going coast-to-coast drops it to Becky Anderson now in the corner back to Moreland but it's too high of a pass Jewell comes away with it looking for fur long she ends up getting it over to Bezeq Cummings now tortora working on Moreland not
much you can do against her she just pulls up and hopes for the best McCarthy comes away with the miss Morland trying to kick it out has it taken and it's given right back it's McCarthy Becky thinking about another three no good Anderson trying to come away with the board it's McCarthy who does she'll Drive try to drop it down to Moreland it's kicked Bernard with it now Bakey thinking about another three 15 seconds on the shot clock very hectic possession here for the Panthers McCarthy will slow it down ten seconds on the clock Moreland has it blocked away by torque Tori you don't see that often more than having her shot sent Joe thinking about a 3-2 Cummings for Tora guarded again by Moreland poked away forms of Anderson so Moreland and tortora exchanging
pleasantries on each end of the court as McCarthy pulls up can't get it to go Anderson for three off the mark tortora grabs the miss drive by furlong good defense by Barnard she redirects the second attempt rebound McCarthy she has seven Moreland gets fouled she'll shoot to pass came from Anderson fouls gonna go on Cummings it's her third Moreland can't knock down the first free throw as white hair enters for Barnard in Carlton enters for Cummings [Music] in Wolens free-throw woes continue as that one didn't even hit the remnant 30 and a half seconds left here on the clock shot clocks there but it's not a factor Malden holds out that will have the last shot as it almost has it taken away for long Carlton looking down for Joe gets it over to bezu
ten seconds foul on Moreland only her second seven point seven shot clock turned off Beverly with a seven-point lead six total points combined in this third quarter by both teams only one from Malden five from the Panthers for a long open free can't knock it down white hairs gonna charge up gets it Anderson she's gonna have to throw it up she does she can't get it to go so at the end of three Beverly holds on to a seven-point lead 32:23 only six points again in that quarter combined for both teams two from Beaudry and three for Becky that was the scoring on the Beverley side and on the Malden side only one measly free throw coming from Joe so Beverly in good position they're gonna start the fourth quarter with Moreland white hair Bakey
McCarthy in Anderson three freshman a sophomore and a junior for the Panthers to start this fourth quarter Moreland six points five boards one assist Anderson with nine points and six boards Beaudry two points two rebounds in and assists Bernard came in and played well she had four points to go with five rebounds and Bakey six points all from three and McCarthy doing a very good job as well in her minutes three points a big three in that second quarter to spark that run for Beverly and she adds 7 boards to go with it [Applause] this is a barely team that has a very deep rotation nine girls can come in give you good quality minutes they have good size good length they have speed good shooting ability in a very young team I keep saying
it team that's built for playoff basketball they can beat you in a multitude of different areas just a matter of whether moorlands on the court she's not in foul trouble and what she does even if she's not scoring it attracts double teams from opposing teams and you have the three-point shooters on the outside like Anderson and like Bakey where if you have them on the corner you give it to Moreland on their side they're gonna have to close in on her and leaves one of them open they combined Anderson in Bakey tonight for five threes two points to start this fourth quarter buys you she has nine to lead scoring for the golden tornadoes five point Beverly lead Mullin pulls up can't get it to go [Music] [Applause] 30:25 every lead jew who just scored
there gets it off to Bezeq Ezzat now for three excuse me that Jew getting all the bounces in the world but it ends up with Moreland quickly gets it up to baekje drops it to Anderson puts it up for two and gets it double digits now for Anderson she's got 11 good assists there by baking in a great outlet pass by Moreland to start it visit to zoo Jill for three off the mark rebound more when she's off the charge gotta go coast to coast pulls up and Walsh gonna be called for a travel turned around didn't seem to realize it was a travel thought she got fouled [Applause] Cummings enters for tortora looks to be winded there would have gotten hit in the stomach in the rib cage still anybody's game Beverly lead at
seven times their largest they're down 16 to two after one when we scored nine total points since the first quarter white hair rips that one away anderson guarded by bezel pulls up no good rebound Cummings timeout called by Malden 609 left to play in the fourth Beverly leads 30 to 25 [Applause] stan shalom the hell it will huddle there excuse me you're gonna see a couple subs McCarthy and Gaucho will enter the tour tour is still gonna be out for Maldon for the meantime just over six left to go in the fourth Maldon we'll send out you for long Carlton Desert Inn Cummings [Applause] [Music] desert past half court deflected by Gaucho [Music] three from bez it no longer controls it sends it up to moorland quickly she has Anderson drops it to her trying
to get it back to Moreland she does gets it to go great ball movement from Moreland and Anderson to get Beverly's lead up to nine didn't get a foul I believe on Anderson Beaudry's gonna come in from McCarthy that was fouls on Hertz or third Carlton short jumper can't get it to go rebound Moreland she's got nine dribbles by everybody on the Maldon side has it deflected she's not going to get a call on the defensive end God's trying to come back behind furlong Moreland sends that one away that's another block trying to go for the board she gets it that's her tenth woman playing very aggressive on that defensive possession for the Panthers drops it down the Gaucho Gaucho wasn't in position [Applause] 4:55 left to go in the fourth Beverly holding their largest
lead it's nine [Applause] [Music] Jew gets it to furlong furlong the runner no-good offensive board Alton she puts it in for two her first points since the first quarter she has six tonight to go along with six boards Moreland kicks it out to baekje gosh with it bold Rita Anderson in the corner trying to get it down low to Moreland workin in the post easy to for the freshman and she now has a double-double ten and ten for the freshman I think it's official she is the Beast of the Northeast no denying that after last week's performance as you mrs. a3 Beaudry coming away with the board coast-to-coast gets it to go Beaudry great play nobody playing very well in these minutes in the fourth quarter we're gonna get a whistle and leave the referee
never got the ball to give back to Malden to inbound it substitution has baekje exits in Bernard gets back in 348 left to go in the fourth Beverly leading by 11 Ephram [Applause] - furlong pulls up for three no good bernard with the board Beaudry - moorland quickly - gaucho can't handle it holder he pulls up mid-range no good more than with the offensive board hook putback is sent away by tortora second time tortoids got the better of her three blocks for the senior captain no good rebound Beaudry trying to go coast-to-coast again not called for an offensive foul they are surprisingly but Beaudry gets it to go four points in this fourth quarter six total and get another timeout 40 27 lead with 250 left to go in the fourth quarter in head coach
marino not happy not getting that call and I agree with him that was definitely an offensive foul should have been called on Beaudry that won't complain though they're fully gonna send out the same five Morland Beaudry Bernhard Anderson and gosh [Applause] after that timeout Beverly with their largest lead 13 points camera man's chirping at me he's not gonna get a thank you at the end of this program I can tell you that poked away by Gaucho as it driving drops at the furlong furlong hasn't shot a high percentage here tonight she's gonna take another long too off the mark again offensive board towards Laura her put backs good for Dora eight boards to go along with nine points I mean range J from Anderson no good Barnard with another board she has eight excuse me
she has seven driving his boat he has it poked away for long ends up with it Beaudry trailing trying to poke the way she can't two minutes five seconds left to go in the fourth Beverly looking to hold on to this 11-point lead the Anderson comes away with it quickly gets it up to Bernard nobody to beat her long trailing she'll be fouled she'll shoot two [Applause] yeah 15 fowl from Alton ii on furlong bernard knocks down her first free throw she has five to go along with seven boards couple substitutions cummings enters bernard knocks that one down 152 it's won all but over was in doubt especially in that first quarter as furlong misses that shot offensive board cummings another rebound for bernard after that miss Morland can we called for another travel about
her third travel violation this game Sprague's gonna enter wonder if that's gonna be for Moreland and it is her night is done not before she got yet another double-double ten points 11 boards for the freshman unofficially a couple blocks in there as well a couple of cysts [Music] for long trying to get it downloaded tortora working on Sprague can't get it to go he'll stay with Malden Sprague holding her own in their tortora she's a force almost a double-double for her tonight [Music] hold REE almost takes it away she does take it away from furlong and furlong struggles continue all the way through to this fourth quarter great play by the junior captain Beaudry just under a minute left to play Bernard driving gets it to Gaucho Anderson now download a Bernard just a little
too high shoe takes a pic from tortora long to from the corner got it to go two points for ephraim her first two and we're gonna get a timeout from Beverly 36 and a half left to go in the fourth we're gonna get some subs on both sides I believe we're at least on the Maldon side Beverly winning this one this will improve their record in the NEC after this win Beverly will improve to six and four overall six and two into the NEC again after tonight they go to Gloucester than have a home game with Salem and a couple of road games at some of them then the R at Peabody and Revere and end their season at home against Marblehead and Bishop Fenwick and then they will enter a tournament the end of
this season and Beverly after tonight's one we'll only need four more wins to qualify for the playoffs and I I'll put money on it those four games on your screen right now Hurley's got the wins [Applause] gosh they inbounded Maldon pressing they get it to Beaudry though Gaucho Beaudry den and girls basketball you don't have to get it past half court in a matter of time you can take all the time you need and Mauldin fouling and I this is what I don't like about basketball because this game's over don't follow your down 11 points with 30 seconds left stop fouling [Applause] none of times I've lost sports bets and over-unders in money lines because one team down by 20 decides they still want to follow it just angers me to no end and another
foul and we're gonna get one and one now for the Panthers twenty five point two left on the clock Beverly up by 11 for long enjoy entering again for bezel Audrey knocks down the first Bodhi was held scoreless in the first half she's got seven all coming in the second half five of those in the fourth quarter go along with four rebounds in and assist unofficially in Boulder knocks down that one as well so six points for her in the fourth Beverly doing a good job of closing out she had six this quarter Moreland with four two points a piece from Anderson in Barnard 15 seconds on the clock shoe throws up a three got it to go and I'm sure we're gonna see another foul and we will Beaudry will be at the line
shooting one-on-one against you after that three standard her point total she's got 12 to lead all scorers tonight on both ends 6.6 on the clock 44 34 doggery knocks down the first free throw she makes this one she'll be in double digits tonight she when your captain and that was reminiscent of Paul Pierce against the Cavs on Oh 7 that free throw that went up to the ceiling 10 points for her this one will be over Beverly takes the lead after Bernard gets that steal Beverly Lee or wins 46 to 34 they come back from a 16 to 2 first quarter deficit they switch the tables immediately on Malden they go on a quick 900 run to start it eventually that turns into a 13-0 run for the Panthers excuse me a 1600 run for
the Panthers to begin that second quarter and they never looked back never look back in that first quarter Moreland substantial sat in although they were down early in that game they didn't get phased yeah they were down 14 but it woke him up it really woke him up it really gave them a sense of perspective they sat back and saw where they were down 14 points and they flipped the switch big time Moreland a double-double for her 10 points 11 boards Bulger played very well she had 10 points to go with 4 boards in and assist unofficially eight of those points coming in the fourth quarter to seal the deal for the Panthers against Malden Anderson she was on fire in that second quarter she had seven boards to go along with 13 points bernard
herrmann it's 6 points for her to go along with 8 boards and McCarthy played very well as well only 3 points but 8 rebounds Bakey with two big threes one coming in the second quarter one coming in the third and this is a Beverley team that didn't let that first quarter affect them they came back they fought hard and this is a team you're gonna you're not gonna want to see coming to playoff time as Brian shows his head a nice bald spot Brian they're in the in the camera that was a good good blooper we'll throw that one on the reel for everybody here at Bev cam our producer Robert Doakes on cameras Matt Apuzzo and Brian Thompson with a nice shiny bald spot we might have to might have to clean up after
