All right, call this meeting to order. Please rise and pledge allegiance. I >> pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> All right, do I have a motion to excuse board member >> I'll move to excuse board member Gonzales. >> I'll second. >> It's been moved and seconded to excuse board member Gonzales. Is there any discussion? Seeing none, all those in favor say aye. >> Aye. >> All those opposed say nay. Motion carries. Approval of board meeting minutes for June 10th, 2026 20 2026. >> I'll move for the approval of board meeting minutes for June 10th, 2026. >> I'll second. >> It's been moved and seconded to approve board meeting minutes for
June 10th, 2026. Is there any discussion? Seeing none, all those in favor say aye. >> Aye. >> All those opposed say nay. Motion carries. Approval of meeting agenda. >> I'll move for the approval of meeting agenda. >> I'll second. >> It's been moved and seconded to approve the meeting agenda. Is there any discussion or changes? No, none. Okay. Seeing none, all those in favor say aye. >> Aye. >> All those opposed say nay. Motion carries. Consent agenda. >> I'll move for the consent agenda. >> I'll second. >> It's been moved and seconded to approve the consent agenda. Is there any discussion or changes? Seeing none, all those in favor say aye. >> Aye. >> All those opposed say nay. Motion carries. nay. Approval of class of 2031 booster fundraiser. >> I'll move for the approval
of class of 2031 booster fundraisers. >> Second. >> It's been moved and seconded to approve class of 2031 booster fundraisers. Is there any discussion? Seeing none, all those in favor say aye. All those opposed say nay. >> Motion carries. >> Thank you, Sigrid. >> Thanks, Sandy. >> All right, facilities meeting update. >> Um I'm trying to talk up. I'm all discombobulated because I turned the volume up at the end of the meeting and even though I turned my computer volume off, it still didn't turn off. >> Oh, it's still going? >> I got to figure out how to get like back in there. >> Oh. Um >> I mean, I think we just wanted to go back through the facility meeting update on just I just wanted to open the door for conversation and questions
that you had regarding the community facility meeting. Um I think most of you were there except Michael, so but we put this on the agenda just in case there was a follow-up with board members who needed to be here. So, is there anything that you would like to discuss? I mean, it's kind of an open spot on what information you gathered and how you like to reflect on the community members. >> Or maybe what you learned or, you know, anything to take away from the meeting. >> Um I mean, I I definitely heard the community's voice that um for those that were there that they would like us to move forward. Um and I would have liked to see more attendance, but I there's nothing we can do about that. I mean, I think it
was more than we normally would have had, but less than I would have liked. Um but I still think it was a fairly resounding they would really like us to move forward with you know, moving funds and starting the process. >> Yeah, it was it's a tough date and time night-wise. Baseball's wrapping up was wrapping up that right about then. All-Stars is picking up right now. So, I mean, in that sense of the sports community, you know, so hopefully here in the future we'll have more attendance. I think as we push out more information and people start to comment more. You're seeing that kind of just in social media in general. I think people are starting to see the the vision and the direction that we're trying to move the pendulum and I think now
they want to get involved. So, I think there's going to be more. >> I think that's true. No, I think that's true and I think that, you know, there were voices about transparency and I I feel like we've been very transparent. However, however, that's not just communicated but how it's being received. I guess those are two pieces that maybe are not always in alignment. Um, so um I I know that we can always try better. Um, and I do think that what I have seen and what I have heard that people are understanding why building up here is so much more feasible than building at Davis Field. Even though we all have a special place for it. Davis Field is still there. I think that the community is starting to understand more that it isn't
a need of we want to move it. It's a need to have to move it. >> It just opens up so many avenues, right? I know transparency has been a thing, but there's been so many things that we had no idea what direction they were going to go. One being the grant for the open space soccer fields, athletic fields, whatever we're calling it is green space, right? For for our kids to be able to play sports. That was a huge If we get this, maybe we can move that pencil, we can start to get things moving, right? And not knowing whether that was going to go through, and now seeing the vision that that's going to happen, and then a few other pieces falling, now it's like we have a vision and we can fully
share where we want to go with that. So >> that's that's very well said. I think one of the things I also heard, at least in the area I was sitting, is um getting the stadium piece somewhat out of the way, so that it's not the overriding, overarching that it's not the end-all, be-all of our facility needs, and that um there are some really big, high-priority facility needs that have to be addressed between asphalt and roofs and other facility needs at large, that um this gives an opportunity to get almost to lay something to rest, so we can actually start focusing on the totality of the district's needs, and it's just been stadium, stadium, stadium, and I think there's some important other pieces that needed to have >> Right. And I I think it was
it was important to marry the two, community and board, and show them um what needed to be done from our facility study. Um cuz I don't the bigger scope of things, right? >> Exactly. And I think there was a lot of buy-in of yeah, we do have a lot of needs, and those needs, you know, I I love the fact that that people were so willing to prioritize what the needs were. And not you're right, just not lead with stadium. Like that gets to be a great component of it, but there's so many other long-term, long-standing needs, too. So I I like the I like the direction. >> [clears throat] >> I'm right there with both of you guys on that. I was impressed, I don't know who the woman was that had more information
on plants. >> Jamie, that's that's >> Kevin Scallon. >> Kevin Farisworth, Patty Barr. >> Patty Barr. >> Okay. >> Basketball mom for >> Okay, thank you. Okay. >> I I was trying to remember if I could to remember who she was. >> dentist in Mona Santa. >> Yes. >> Anyway, I I appreciated her knowledge and her willingness to send information and to help um some of us. >> I think it's you guys >> SCJ Alliance on Tuesday for our update. We actually have that grant started. They're set as a collaborator to start uploading all the files. >> Okay. >> So, I'm hoping to have that grant down by major portion of that grant done by Friday. >> Nice. >> So, that lead is we did act on it. >> Good. >> We are acting. >>
Good. >> It It I mean, that speaks to I know a lot of people have been asking, "How can I help? How can I do this? How can I, you know, uh in some capacity do something?" And I think a lot of it is just sharing as we get these pieces put together, is sharing that vision with other people. And if there's a funding scheme that you know of or a grant or something, share that with us. And that And that immediately happened at that meeting, right? It's been happening at multiple meetings, but getting the right people in the right place to talk about different um options is going to be key. So, and and putting it out here has opened that up because uh you know, the two grants that we did apply for,
we couldn't even apply for down at Davis Field, which is I truly unfortunate, right? But we do we are fortunate enough to have this piece of property in our possession that we can actually act on, which is one of the things that actually I believe the RCO said was probably one of the reasons why we were able to to get that is because of the fact that we had the property. We have a need. We're ready to go. To shovel ready, right? So, good to see, you know, and I know the whole district has been as, you know, we've been working really hard to put away money so that we could actually update some facility stuff. And I know that our our our staff has been creative in ways that we can go about doing
that and you know budget has been great. We appreciate all the work you put in to get us where we're at so that we can actually move and act on updating facilities so we do appreciate that. So give a shout out to really the whole district. I think it's going to be a team effort when we get this all done. >> And the community too. >> Yes, absolutely. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> No, we wouldn't even be where we're at without everybody that's come before us and then all the little carrots along the way I was telling Stephanie about them the other day. It's like I remember when Ron came and said, "Hey, I got this grant. Hey, you should do that." And I was like, "Oh, we'll look into that." And then you know, so
it's just even encouragement, right? He like you do this and it's just the little things and then they all start adding up. So that's what's kind of cool about the whole process. Anything else? Public comment? Unfinished business, new business. Approval of resolution 8-25-26 donation of Faith Lutheran Church and property. >> I'll make a motion to approve resolution 8-25-26 donation of Faith Lutheran Church and property. >> I'll second. >> So moved and seconded to approve resolution 8-25-26 donation of Faith Lutheran Church and property. Is there any discussion? >> A huge amount of gratitude for them. >> Yes, absolutely. >> Goes into this donation. >> Their donation meeting so we're not done. Their donation meeting is not till um end of July. I got July 21st, shortly after 19th in July 19th. Shortly after the um our
like just before our board meeting. Um from there we need to go to a title transfer. So there's a lot to be done. So this current vote just signifies the district's openness to accept the donation. And then I'm assuming like we have within this attachments the title study, the deed study, and the survey. >> Yeah, it's >> To be honest, I read through some of or clicked on some of that and started reading. It was like That's all foreign language. >> Well, it's a lot. It was the whole legal description, um all the risks to the district, um obviously except that we Yeah. >> When it got to the legal descriptions and all that stuff, it was like, "Yeah, this >> Well, it even even has the ground. Yeah, the legal description even has the
plot, you know, it has everything. So, the whole package was in there. Yeah, so E- either way, I know the process is going forward, but uh we'll we'll once it's all done and even now really thankful for our community once again, right? I don't I'm I'm lost for words because there's there's so much gratitude. I mean I really hope that uh they they know how much we appreciate. >> Absolutely. >> All right, with that, is there any other further discussion? Seeing none, all those in favor say aye. >> Aye. >> All those opposed say nay. Motion carries. Enrollment report. >> Uh we stayed pretty consistent through the year of 1499.80, which includes ALE. Um we break into our net total student enrollment 1578.46 taking into account our running start and [clears throat] our TK totals
and open door students. Any questions? >> Who's the point 46? >> Well, that's the thing with an average. >> [laughter] >> And they changed how you calculate now, so like a full-time student that does two doesn't equal 1.1, but it doesn't. There's There's a Well, there's a weird period schedule. >> Take baby at least for one whole person. >> It used to be >> Well, I get to be >> Yeah, five periods a day were like 0.2, 0.2, 0.2, 0.2, and then we did six periods for free. >> Yeah, now now it's all fun. What 1/8 and 2? >> Yeah. >> I mean, you look at some of these numbers and it's like 0.03? >> I know I keep looking at them just like I hate them. >> That's averages for you. Like what? All
right. Nothing further. Budget report. >> You guys have your budget reports in front of you. As you can see, we probably went down half a million dollars from one month to the next. Um Well, we drop again at the end of this month because of everybody who retired and went out their cash out. If they cash out in June, otherwise we'll see a dip in August. Um Any questions on the report? >> I'm not sure if this is a question for the report, but uh I Is this when are we taking action to >> It'll be in the budget on the budget hearing on the 22nd. It's just a It's rolled up in the budget. >> Okay, I did I knew we had a deadline, so I was just confused at the budget. So. >>
Is July 2nd? >> Yeah. >> Perfect. >> You need a quorum. >> Got it. Okay. >> Anybody have any questions? >> Nope. >> All right then, uh facilities report. >> Um Jeff has the cash. He's out of town today right now. We have closed our ADA accessibility project is complete. This is the roof. Please say the roof complete. >> Yes. >> No school for the next two weeks. That's good. >> Um, I think um, I mean I just want to give Jeff some credit. He's worked pretty hard on building out this district maintenance list and this process. I think we're getting closer to what you're looking for to show what work is on and what it costs and where we're going. I do think when we showed it at that first back in the community
meeting, the community appreciated the detail on how much work needed to be done. >> Sounds like they got the asphalt down on the track, just waiting for rubber now. >> I don't It's cut out. I don't know if the uh, it wasn't poured recently. >> Yeah, I couldn't >> It's cut out, but it hasn't been put in. >> Well, I'll take the >> So, and it needs two-week cure cure period. >> We're under contract with the track doctor. We got a grant to do that to come put the uh, the um, the rubber on top. >> Mhm. >> Um, but it'll have to be after the track has had two weeks to settle. >> Okay. All right. >> So, we've been running track camp that area kind of marked off. >> And then lots of
other stuff to be obviously worked on as well. Moving forward on the other stuff. Yeah. >> I think sometimes this goes back and sometimes it takes me all the way to the end. >> Uh, good to the order. >> I don't really have anything. I just again, I was appreciative of the facilities meeting and the community's input and the hard work that everybody's done. So, I'm just excited to watch things progress. >> Good. >> A reminder that the book and build out and about and kids are loving getting all the books. Timberland library has a phenomenal program. They did Mr. Twister the balloon guy this last week and all the kids if you saw the videos from Timberland high participation and actually Alma has four food programs this summer in total locations for um students
to get a free free lunch. So I think that's a lot of surrounding areas not just on site as in town. So some of the areas that kids might lack transportation for it's nice to see some options. So >> Uh I know that we actually had our uh retreat with South Sound Pacific since our last meeting correct? I know I was I was like somebody going to correct me cuz I it seems like it has been a lot that's happened. Um but it was a it was a good session. It was great to come together with our local partners with the city the hospital the health department. Um uh um one of our representatives for our Grays Harbor County and then who am I missing? Am I missing anybody else? >> I think you got
them. >> So I think Yeah, I think I got everybody. So it's really nice to uh to be able to talk with them and kind of collaborate on maybe how we can work together to um comes to some common with there's some commonality in every facet of our work right? And if we can come together on that commonality then maybe we can target those areas for funding um in our our rural area or or throughout East East County and really truly help each other not just go about it ourselves. So I'm really excited about our partnership moving forward and what's to come. And then other than that I don't know anything Anybody else? All right. Future agenda items with that budget meeting. Uh the July 22nd at 5:30. So, that's that's a must and then
we'll we'll talk about the rest of the the meetings moving forward. So, we're going to move into executive session and tell 7:00 uh which no action be taken with evaluation of public employee for 20 minutes and then planning for bargaining for 20 minutes with no action to be taken. Eric, I'm >> [clears throat] >> I can't mute mine. I tried the good to leave, right? >> Mhm. >> Before you leave my office, Jeff, we're going to miss you. We're going to have a conversation. >> Uh, we're off, by the way. I think. I can't see myself, but that's weird. It all says we're off mute. I just can't see us. >> Okay. Well, I'll move to adjourn the meeting. >> I'll second. >> I've moved and seconded to adjourn the meeting. Is there any discussion?
Seeing none, all those in favor say "Aye." >> Aye. >> All those opposed say "Nay." Motion carries. Meeting adjourned. >> All good. >> Nothing else. We did it.
