Tell me tell me when. Okay. >> Hey, good morning. This is the board meeting of West Valley School District. It is December 16th at 7 a.m. and we'll call this meeting to order. The pledge of allegiance flag is right here. >> Ready, begin. >> I pledge algiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Hear any changes to the agenda? >> No changes. >> Communications. >> That's a placeholder. >> Public comment. There was none. There is none right now. Somebody wants to comment. Okay. The next one, number seven, approval of the consent agenda. There's A through F. We can just take a motion. I can entertain a motion to approve everything at once unless somebody
would like to take something off for for a question. >> I have a question on Capital Projects balance recap. I just have a question. So, do you want to do >> No, you do that now. >> Yeah. >> So, on the So, I don't know if it's a question for Peter or who, but on the capital projects fund, it still lists a bunch of um expenses for the high school track and so is that OS that are still coming in. >> Correct. There's still some outstanding work on those outstanding projects. So, we got the the high school track and field. We've got the press box. We've also got some HVAC that was um just some large projects auditorium and domestic water piping at the junior high over the summer. >> Okay. No, it was for
the the fund balance. It showed like $40,000. last month. So, I was curious if that was for track and field still from the big project, >> right? There's still >> it's just still Okay, that was my that was my only question. >> Any other questions? >> I'll make a motion to approve approve consent agenda A through F. >> Okay, there is a motion to approve the consent agenda A through F. Um, all in favor signify by saying I. >> I opposed by the same sign. Motion passed 5 to zero. Um action items. There are two travel requests. Both are the wrestling teams, girls wrestling team. So I will entertain a motion to approve both action items. >> I'll make a motion to approve both items. >> The approval of travel requests A and B. There
is a motion. All in favor signify by saying I. I >> oppose at the same time. >> And just just a clarification request was JRTC overnight trip and girls basketball. >> Oh, I'm sorry. >> All right. Items are raising. >> Are there any report? Oh, there are reports that were in your packet. Are there any questions on those reports? Um I have a question on the safety report. >> Sure. >> So um I'm curious what's the maybe you can get back to me, but what's the um policy on out of district transfer student that is has a safety incident? Does that student is there a different policy for them being transferred back to their district or is it >> right? They sign an agreement that they will have good attendance and good behavior so then
they can be >> remanded. So if they are on that safety report, is that is that an automatic kind of >> violation of that agreement that they signed? >> Well, I don't think it's listed as out of district students on the report. >> No, but if they are >> uh well, it's it's a case by case basis, but yeah, I mean, I would say a general principle is that if a student were to get suspended from school, then that's a violation of the behavior contract. >> So is that report um is that is that generated by us or is that something um we do generate it because we monitor uh in the past we've been asked all all schools have been asked to monitor for disproportionality. >> I would I think it would be useful
to show on there if they're out of disproportional. >> Okay. >> And then my other question on that was why is ethnicity reported on there? >> That's why there disproportionality. So you're supposed to have similar disciplines for students of Okay, that makes sense. Thank you. >> Thank you. Any other questions? >> Okay, more tennis report. >> Yes, we'd like to invite everyone to the winter wonderland that we're having on Friday. That's the last day of school and so after school from 4:30 to 6:30 at the high school uh commons. There'll be lots of activities for children. Uh everyone's invited. It's free event. Um we have all the PTSAs from all the different elementary schools. We'll be setting up stations for different activities for um kids. And there's going to be um a community service uh
activity where they'll be tying the um blankets blankets that you can do the ties with and have those the ram landing. And then I heard there's like eight or nine love on our leash dogs that are going to be there. So those are always a big hit. So definitely >> should be a good time after school at the high school on Friday, December 19th, 4:30 to 6:30. We appreciate Manarda Partardo, uh, director of family and community engagement. Appreciate her and her team who helped organize. >> Thank you. That's it. >> Are there any board reports? >> Um, I'll just bring up the uh, so appreciate um, Peter and Stephanie and those uh, working on the uh, coffee with the school board. And so I shared with Joel, but coming um starting January, we have a
set for Fridays, but I would like to know like feedback from you guys on what would work for you guys if if if that was something that would work for you. It's right now it's Fridays 8 to 9 in the morning at Starbucks on some of you. And I think it just be helpful for what would work best for everybody. And maybe we can create a schedule that way if it works for you. I I put a schedule together and I'm going to send it to each board member separately and we can have two board members there at a time. So there's a signup sheet and just I'm sure James would like to be there for the first one. >> Well, you just as long as I do I think it's important just to create
that that space where people feel comfortable to talk >> versus a little less formal. Oh, sorry. >> No, no. >> Is it every Friday or once a month? >> Right now, it's every Friday, but we don't we can alternate. So, it might be like two of us take >> first Sunday or something like or first Saturday, Friday. >> It's early. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> But that works. >> Good. >> And we'll be advertising that. I put together a registration form and a drop down menu for the date. And then James suggested adding a topic that they might be interested in talking about. So that kind of gives us a heads up. >> Yeah, that's great. Anything else? >> What time did you say was that? 8 to 9. >> 8 to 9 right now.
We can adjust. >> We might get push back from elementary school parents since they don't drop their kids off until 8:50. >> Um they might want it to be like 8:30 to 9:30. I don't know. >> That's true. I could do I could do 8 to 9 or 9 to 10. Like have like two spots open. >> You're going to get the older parents that want to come early because their kids are already at school now. And then I think the elementary so maybe every other I don't know it's more complicated that way but you'll get elementary school parents saying >> so every other week like 9 to 10 >> or maybe just n 9 to 10 would capture everyone >> it's good >> I don't I think the eight is nice >> nine's a
good idea because you drop your kid then you can come on over coffee after That's good. Any other board comments? Okay, this meeting is adjourned.
