and welcome to today's college signing day here at Dartmouth High School. Uh we are proud to announce that we have three student athletes that'll be continuing their uh studies as well as their athletics at the division uh one or division 2 level next year. Uh today we'll make it official with their uh signing of their national letters of intent. Um to my left all the way down we have Hannah Aruda. She'll be attending St. Michael's uh college up in Vermont next year to play softball. Uh in the middle here we have Trevor Schwarzman who will be playing uh tennis at Bryant University. And last but certainly not least, Trevor Jacobson, who will be playing uh lacrosse up at Southern New Hampshire University in uh in obviously New Hampshire. So we are super proud of all
of everything that they've done here and their time at Dartmouth High School, both academically as well as um athletically. And we wish them the best of luck uh next year. Certainly, they're still not done. They all have their respective senior years to go, and we hope that they mount up even more accomplishments uh this spring as well. But um this today is a day to celebrate all that they've accomplished thus far and wish them the best of luck next year as they do so um move forward. So, uh what we want to do first is do a a photo opportunity of them signing uh their letters um and then uh we will take some questions um from some media people as well. So, um, thank you very much for for coming. All right. Um, all
right. So, uh, uh, so Trevor and Hannah will be signing today. Um, Tyler has already signed his letter of intent, uh, to play, uh, at a pre at a prior engagement. So, the two of them will be signing and then we will take questions from from the media folks. Thank you. Thank you. [Applause] Okay. So, uh Tyler, we'll just start with you. Uh first, what went into the decision deciding on uh on Snow? Well, going into it, I came up. Um I had offers from other schools like St. hands other town. But my brother obviously goes to Southern New Hampshire University and I know a lot of people in the team I know they have a very nice like field they just built. I think it's like a $10 million stadium they just built. So
facilities are great. Um just good engineering program. They're building a brand new engineering building. So it was just good fit for me. So in particular, what was the is there one thing specifically as your brother being there? Is it knowing the guys? more academics that led you to go to Snow. Well, obviously the academics played a big part in it, but I know the team's solid team, so helped my process. It makes a big difference. Now, where where else uh were you looking into? If you can share um St. Angelo, I'm Keen State. I had interests from schools all over, but those were my kind of main focuses. And how does it feel to have the process done of knowing where you're going to go to school? It's very relieving to have it done, figured
out. Talk a little bit about your time as an Indian. You know, any memories that stand out on the field? Um, my time as Indian was great. Started as a freshman playing splitting time with Sean Smileac who was real good influence growing up. He was a real great player. Um, I don't know. I've tried to kind of take a leadership role in the team from when I was young cuz a lot a lot of those guys don't play club and it's it's tough being around people that don't know the game 100%. So I've been trying to step up and take control. Anything you're going to miss about your time tonight? Uh the locker room. Definitely the locker room. Thanks Tyler. Trevor, uh kind of same stuff. What went into the decision of going to Bryant?
Um, I mean, I visited a few other schools and I did overnights at a few schools and I think that just meeting all the kids and stuff and spending time with them, it was just it was a lot of fun and I think that just made my decision pretty easy. And I mean, I got to practice with the team. I got to work out with a few of the kids and I mean, I just I liked it a lot. I like the competitiveness. Everybody was giving 100% all the time and I just loved it. Was there one thing in particular that won you over? Was there one moment? Um, I think just the whole time, I mean, I just I enjoyed it a lot. We got along with all the kids and I think that
was definitely what made me go there. And then in terms of the whole recruiting process and everything, were there other schools that you were considering looking into? Oh, yeah. There was a bunch of schools from around here. I mean, you get stuff schools from all over the country, but I mean, I wanted to stay close next to my family and my brothers and stuff, and I mean, I wanted to compete at the highest level, and I think this was the best way to do it. Now, you've obviously known for a little bit too that you were going to go to Bright. How does it feel to have the whole college process done? It was I wanted to get it done as early as possible, and I think I'm very glad to have it over with.
Yeah. I know, you know, I've interviewed you several times. You know, you're probably one of the biggest prodies in in the program. Could you talk a little bit about your legacy? You know, what you're going to be leaving behind here at Dermath High. Um, I mean, I think I did very well. I think hopefully I'll have one of the best records we've ever had here. And I think when I'm here, we this is the best we've ever done as a team, too. Last year was like the best record we ever have. The first time we won our conference. So, I think even just as a team is definitely What's the big thing you're going to miss about being an Indian? Um, just the team. A bunch of my friends who I've been playing with since
I was a little kid. And Mr. York. I've known Mr. York since I was a little kid. So, I'm going to miss that. Thank you. Thanks, Char. Hannah, um, you've been going at this for a little while trying to figure out where you want to go. What went into the decision to St. Mike's? Um, I also did an overnight at a couple different other schools. And St. Michaels is just beautiful. The campus, I love the location. I love skiing, so up north is perfect. And the girls on the team just have a really nice vibe. they they're have a similar humor like I do. We just fit really well. And was that the thing that that helps your decision in picking them over the other programs that you looked into? Uh I think the coach
definitely set it them aside because he's fantastic. I love his coaching style and what he likes to focus on. We just really connected. And then what were the other schools that you were seriously considering? Um, there was a couple around like in New York and Pennsylvania and all that, but I just think St. Michaels was the place for me. And then I mean, you know, the same question that they gave the guys. How does it feel to have all this done knowing that you know where you're going to go to school, you know, next year? It's relieving. I'm glad it's over with. Yeah. More or less same question for me, too. You know, what sort of what do you think your legacy will be, you know, leaving behind Dartmouth High School? Um, just hopefully that
high school sports are fun and it's worth playing all four years and you build friendships that will last a lifetime. Anything you're going to particularly miss? The friendships definitely the bus rides, the laughing, the crying, the fun. All good times. Thank you. Well, that just about wraps up uh the formal part of the presentation. And I would uh just on behalf of the kids, I'd like to thank the parents and the families and the friends who were here in attendance to support them today. Uh as well as the coaches who took time out of their day to be here. Special thanks to Nick Frier from the Standard Times as well as Doug McCuller from Dartmouth Week. And last but certainly not least, Mr. Rob Paratt and his class for making this a special day uh
for the kids to see and savor uh on the internet forever. So, uh, we'll leave that we'll leave things set up for people to take, uh, photos with their with their friends or their their their children. Um, but we thank everybody for attending and, uh, best of luck to you three. Thank you. All right. So, we can do um [Music]
