All right, welcome everybody to tonight's match up for the East Longmeadow Spartans as they play host to the Longmeadow Lancers. East Longmeadow went 16 and 6 last year losing to Walpole in the Elite Eight. East Longmeadow outscored their opponents 310 to 186 going 8 and 0 in league play winning back-to-back Western Mass titles. East Longmeadow has a new head coach in Brian Calendar Crucio, Coach Cal, sorry if I butch butchered your name. After Coach Moses coaching up at UMass now and Coach Mazza took the program to 63 and 20 record outscoring their opponents 1,247 goals, 15 per game to 708, 8 and 1/2 goals per game. They had two final four appearances and winning the Western Mass title three out of the last four years. Last year's graduating class is the main reason for their
success as they saw eight seniors and which six of them going on to play at the collegiate level. They were led by Jenna Marino going to UMass, Grace Howard going to Saint Anselm, Jenna Hallie fairly Dickinson, Caroline Lukesic going to Connecticut College, your leading scorer Addie Jordan with 103 goals going to Davidson and Miana Calabrese going to Springfield College. This year's commits continue as East Longmeadow has Super Seven Mack Whitwer committed to Villanova. She scored 72 goals last year. Sam Hunt going to Clark, Mary Devoe going to UMass Boston and the other captain Sabina McKnighty will be joining Calabrese at Springfield College. Looks like Mack Whitwer will be up on the draw versus Henson. And we're about to start off the 2020 season. Referee gets the ball ready. The ball is up. Ball bouncing around.
It's loose and Henson comes up with the ball. As she looks to be getting the ball over the restraining line. She gets the ball to Canana. They get the ball in, turn around, take a shot. Nice save by Julia Gray. As she comes out of the net looking Somebody's got to get wide open move for her. As they get the ball over. Gets the ball up to Mack Whitwer. Mack Whitwer making space. Good good job by Addie to get the ball over and Mack gets the ball over the restraining line over to McKnighty. McKnighty over to Mary Devoe. Over to McKnighty. McKnighty tries to go in, nothing there. She gets the ball over to Crimmins. Crimmins with a pass to Pelletier. Looks like uh Longmeadow pretty much giving East Longmeadow everything around and they're just
face guarding Mack Whitwer out there outside the 30. Vanderhoof makes a save. She gets the ball up to Longmeadow quickly moving the ball up field. Looks like Rice gets gets the ball to Hastings. Hastings drops it. Loose ball. Hastings with the ball kicks it over to Kena. Kena behind the net. Longmeadow moving the ball around. Over to Greenman. Back to Henson. Longmeadow moving the ball around the net. Longmeadow's two players that they have is Kerry Conway. I think she's going to UConn. And the other one was Super Seven Molly Henson scoring 47 goals. She's going to Bates. And it looks like Henson's getting her shot as an 8 meter and Julia Gray will get her first chance to stop an 8 meter on the season. Longmeadow up on the up on the board first as
Henson gets gets a goal to continue her scoring over the last few years. East Longmeadow's 2 and 27 all time against Longmeadow last year. Longmeadow went 8 and 13 scoring 210 goals and giving up 208. As much as I'd love to see Longmeadow not doing good, they only played five games against the Western Mass teams beating Westside 17 to 3, Minnechaug 17 to 3, Minnechaug 16 to 3 and splitting series against East Longmeadow 8 and 7. And for then they beat East Longmeadow 14 to 7. So Longmeadow dominated the Western Mass landscape last year playing the toughest toughest schedule in Western Mass. Therefore not having that uh winning record last year. Worder up on the draw with Mack Whitwer. This is a false start. Mack Whitwer gets the ball, quickly goes over restraining line. East
Longmeadow's really going to have to watch those passes, try not to force anything in. As McKnighty gets knocked down, loses possession. Longmeadow quickly making pace up the field and that's Conway. Good job by Jenna Byron to slow her down. As they kick the ball back to Sluwick and she's all by herself. And she gets one past Julia Gray. East Longmeadow's really going to Every possession's really going to make a difference down on the offensive uh offensive zone. It's not going to be like last year where East Longmeadow was a scoring powerhouse. This year be a little bit tougher. They still have Mack Whitwer scoring all those goals last year and rely heavily on her. Worder and Whitwer up on the draw. The draw goes all the way over. Looks like Hannah Eddy was there. Ava
Pellegrino picks the ball up. She's looking to make some room. She gets quadruple teamed, comes away with a good job by the freshman to get the ball up and over. Get the ball and Mack Whitwer let her do her thing. Whitwer going in. Looks like double teamed, triple teamed now. Kicks the ball back out. Gets it over to Pellegrino. >> [crying] >> It's like I put my head down for a second. Longmeadow comes up with the ball. As Henson's running up the field, gets the ball over and that's a goal by Anderson. Last year Longmeadow lost three key players in defenseman Molly Hornet going to Villanova, Piper Watson going to Skidmore and Samantha Goodrich scoring 76 goals going to Holy Cross. They did however reload with six new commits. As I said earlier, Super Seven
Molly Henson scoring to Bates, the other Super Seven Kerry Conway scoring 39 goals last year is going to UConn. Along with other seniors Kate Worder going to Babson, Cordella Michalik going to South Virginia, Vivian Rice going to Skidmore and Nora Vanderhoof going to Saint Anselm. Ball's up. Pellegrino knocking around, almost comes up with it. As Conway ends up coming up with it. Quickly gets the ball up and over. It's a loose ball. Mack Whitwer there to pick it up. Sabina McKnighty there. She loses it to Sluwick. Longmeadow kicks the ball out. Moving the ball around. Longmeadow up three nothing with 7:23 to go in the first period. Michalik with the ball. She does a dodge, goes around, turns around, takes a shot. Nice shot by Julia Gray. Nice save by Julia Gray. It's Gray's second
or third save already. Henson with the ball kicks the ball behind the net. Over to Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald around. Low metal working the ball all the way around comes up on top. Kicks it into Henson and Henson fires a shot by it. Spartans are going to have to look to really pick up those cutters in the game. Low metal just keep sending those cutters through and finding the open person for the goals. Worder on a draw with Whitwer. Worder comes away with the the draw. Tension gets the ball over to over the restraining line. From the back of the net hits the open cutter once again. >> [screaming] >> Sophia Hastings with the goal as the Spartans quickly down five nothing. With six minutes into the game. Worder and Whitwer back up on the draw. Hastings
comes up with the ball quickly gets the ball up to Conway. Conway goes in and out and scores a goal. >> [cheering] >> Carrie Conway scores her first goal of the game. Lancers already have a five different scores and six goals. Something's going to have to give for the Spartans defense. Worder and Whitwer back up on the draw. >> [crying] >> They will do redraw that. Hannah Eddy up on the circle. Mack Whitwer taking a draw along with Sabina McKechnie. And Conway comes away with it. Gianna Byron gets it as it gets knocked away. Conner has it gets the ball around the back of the net. Kicks the ball over to Henson. Believe that was Chloe Anderson scores her second goal of the game. Low metal quickly up seven nothing. Now, Spartans will go to
film later on after this game and go over defensive schemes with what they'll have to pick up, who will have to pick up, how they watch the cutters. So, it's learning experience as the Spartans have a young team. Have a couple of seniors. But after losing that group that class of girls last year, they're in a rebuilding stage, I would say. Anderson gets the ball over to Conway. Lancers looking to pass the ball behind the net. Kicks the ball over to Anderson. Conway with the ball. Gets it over to Henson. Kena has it behind the net looking for those cutters. That's a better job of stopping it. Low metal putting on a free clinic. As they're now up eight nothing. With still four and a half minutes to go. Sophia Hastings scores her second goal
of the game. >> [screaming] >> Freshman Ava Pellegrino up on the draw. Spartans trying something different. Pellegrino going up against Worder. And that's good job by the freshman to get the ball over to Mack Whitwer. As Mack Whitwer gets the ball over the restraining line. You can see him clear out and give Mack a go at it. McKechnie over to Whitwer. Whitwer does a dodge goes by her. Whitwer getting herself some shooting space. That's more like it. As after nearly eight minutes into the game, the Spartans looks like they'll finally get their first shot on net. Mack Whitwer getting herself an eight meter. Mack Whitwer runs it in. Looks like it was off Vanderhoof's face mask. The Spartans will get the ball out of bounds. Crimmins with the ball kicks the ball over to McKechnie.
McKechnie to Pellegrino. Pellegrino looking. She looks to go by. Keep going in. Oh. Good job by the freshman. She turns around and gets the ball over to Peltier. Over to Pellegrino. Over to Illingsworth. Over to McKechnie. McKechnie with a a dodge. She goes by her. McKechnie turns around takes a shot. She goes just wide. Ava Morgado's there. So, good thing for the Spartans they just got two shots off in a minute. So, that's something that's positive. That's a negative. As Crimmins looks to get a shot to the head. She gets a no call and Low Metal has the numbers quickly getting the ball up the field as the ball's dropped. McKechnie try gets gets called for a foul. Low Metal will get the ball. Low Metal gets the ball up to Henson. Henson behind the
net she throws the ball away. Zulick missed it but it got in the sun. Or not. Sun gets the ball over Julia Gray. Julia Gray out of the net one hops it over to McKechnie. McKechnie has space to operate. McKechnie goes up the field. Spartans have the numbers. She gets over to Illingsworth. Illingsworth back. Nice give and go. Nice job by Julia Illingsworth to quickly get the ball keep hitting McKechnie as she was cutting and now McKechnie will have herself an eight meter attempt. Sabina McKechnie on the eight meter. McKechnie goes in turns around takes a shot and save by Vanderhoof who quickly gets the ball up to O'Malley. O'Malley have to feel good job by Pellegrino as Mack Whitmer is there to stop her. Pellegrino knocked the ball out of her stick. Good job
by Morgado over to Peltier. Peltier to I don't know who that was. Los Alamitos quickly gets the ball up. Green with the ball. Hits the cutter and Conway. Cutter Conway all by herself and tough for Julia De Gradey to get that on a one-on-one with Kerry Conway. It's Conway's second goal of the game. Lancers now have four girls in double digits as Los Alamitos is taking a nine-to-nothing lead. >> [snorts] >> Pellegrino back up on the draw. Same spot as last time. That's two times in a row. Good hustle by Mack Whitmer to come up with that. Let's go Macky. Macky in and out making it look easy. Goes around the X. She keeps the ball. It looks like Henson's marking her up. Over to Pellegrino. Pellegrino over to McKenney. And McKenney will get herself
an eight-meter attempt. McKenney eight-meter attempt. 24 seconds left in the first quarter. McKenney goes low. McKenney scores a goal. Spartans finally up on the board. Stop the bleeding. With 21 seconds left in the in the first quarter, the Spartans are finally on the board by a goal with by Sabina McKenney cutting the Lancers lead down to eight. Good news is the last four minutes the Spartans have been playing better, passing better. Hopefully they can continue to keep that up. I think a lot has to do with the draw with Ava Pellegrino up on the draw getting the ball to Mack Whitmer and good things are happening. Pellegrino two times in a row has pushed the ball to this one spot. See if she continues to do it. Werder looks like she's saying go to your
left. I'll take that one-on-one with Mack Whitmer any day of the week. Mack getting speed and oh. Looks like a no false start on both of them. 18 seconds left in the first quarter. Lancers up nine to one. Ball goes up. Oh, good a good job by Conway to grab that. She's looking to get a shot off. Hopefully the Spartans can just hold them off and get no shot attempts. Good job by Son to get turn around disrupt that. Julia Gray, hopefully she just eats the clock out for the Good job by Julia Gray to run that clock out as the Spartans or as the Lancers are going into the second quarter with a nine-to-one lead. All right, we're back for second quarter action. Lancers putting on a pretty much a clinic for the first
eight minutes there in East Los Alamitos holding their own the last four minutes. So hopefully they can keep that going. Pellegrino back up on the draw. That's all pretty much where it all started. She won a bunch of draws as Looks like Los Alamitos now changed up their draw taker in Kerry Conway as she does a a self draw. She kick gets the ball up. To Los Alamitos as Los Alamitos looking to work the wall wall around as Zula gets the ball over to Anderson up top to Green. Conway to Henson. Henson with the ball. Sabina McKenney applying pressure. Los Alamitos stepped over the restraining line got called for offsides. East Los Alamitos ball. McKenney with the ball. Turns around. Scoots the ball back to Gray. Julia Gray coming out of the net. Julia Gray fires. Well, what a pass to Mack Whitmer. East Los Alamitos quickly East Los Alamitos changes up. Mack Whitmer turns around goes in. Mack Whitmer gets a shot. She gets called for Los Alamitos gets called for shooting space before the ball goes in. Believe at the college level now
I like that. They have continuous play and that would have been a goal. But they're is at a school level. so when she gets to Villanova, goal here, she gets an 8-meter. Ball gets knocked away. Good job by Avery Morgado to be there to pick it up. Morgado with the ball over to McKecney. Over to Illingsworth. Illingsworth has it. Good job, way to stay with it. Gets the ball over to McKecney. Good job by Vanderhoof. I think she's three for three on the Spartans when it comes to the 8-meter shots. Mac with it. Mac with the dodge, blows by her, turns around, takes a pulls out Longmeadow. Every time she gets it, they're just going to double, triple team her. She gets the ball over to Pellegrino. Pellegrino, good job to stay with it. Mac
with it. Mac sees a little bit of an opening. She goes in and out, 1 2 3. And Mac Whitmer with her first goal of the season. The Spartans are now down 9 to 2. >> [crying] >> Mac Whitmer leading scorer for leading returning scorer for the Spartans. She scored 72 goals last year. I don't know what Mass Live had it, but she had 72 goals. Now, it looks like Mary Devoe's up on the draw versus Conway. >> [laughter] >> Devoe flips it up. Ball bounces around, is still loose. McKecney temporarily has it, gets knocked away, still on the ground as Green comes up with it. Good job by the Spartans to slow it down. Emma Crimmins there. So, Green with two goals, Henson with two goals, Hastings with two goals, Conway with two goals, Anderson with two goals. Canina with one goal and Sulik with one goal. Whatever the Spartans found for a recipe the last 4 minutes of the first quarter, hopefully they can find that again right now. Mary Devoe on the draw. Ball's up. Mac Whitmer comes away with it. Good job by Mac to scoop that one out of the air. Good job by Mary to flick it to her. Mac Whitmer, just keep going. Go by everybody, Mackie. Mac Whitmer behind the net to Pelletier. Kicks it around to Crimmins. Up top to McKecney. Spartans are down a man. McKecney loses it. Captain
loses the ball. Spartans trying to pass the ball around, eat the clock. McKecney knocks the ball loose. She gets called in. Henson with the ball as Longmeadow will You saw Longmeadow back to full strength. Green with the ball up to Conway. Over to Henson. Canina. Sulik. Over to Green. To Conway. Up to Hastings. As now the Spartans will try yet another attempt to somebody on the draw. So, Becca McKecney will go up against Conway. Spartans had some success with Ava Pellegrino in there and she hasn't taken a draw in a little while, so Becca McKecney's attempt now. Ball goes up, self draw quickly
to Conway as quickly get the ball over the restraining line. They got shooting space and I think that'll be Henson will get her Henson will be on the 8-m attempt. 027nice grab by Gabriella. Turns around, picks it up, fires in the back of the net for Goal by number 10, Goal number 15. Not going to lie, it was much more fun announcing the games last year when we were scoring 20 goals, but uh we We got to do with it. Good news is we only have to play Longmeadow one more time. Bad news is it's at Longmeadow and we always get killed when we play them at at their home field, so. Hey, the Spartans won the draw the first time in this quarter. Back Whitwer with the ball. She gets the ball up. And she pretty usual, she's getting double-teamed when she gets it. Back with the ball over to Keklik. Keklik back to Mack. Mack does a dodge in and out. They just swarm
that middle. Somerville can't handle the pass. Longmeadow ends up with it. And time expires. Longmeadow is going into halftime with a 15 to two lead. And we're back for third quarter action with the Lancers taking a commanding lead 15 to two. Keklik up on the draw, kicks the ball over to Whitwer. That's a good way to start second half. Mack Whitwer making headway. She gets the ball over to Pellegrino. Good job by Ava to stay with it. Pellegrino, the freshman keep going in. Pellegrino with the ball. Ball gets displaced. Longmeadow Good job by the Spartans with Avery Morgado and Pellegrino to double-team her as ball gets thrown away. Lancers moving the ball up. Getting the ball to gets Anderson. I can't see that Spartan on the other side. Conway with the ball. Over to Canina.
Moving the ball behind the net. Gabriella throws the ball away as the Spartans are right there and ball gets run out of bounds. Good job by Mian. Uh I don't know what happened with that. Mehan had the ball and then Pellegrino, I don't know if she ran in back into the play. I'm not quite sure. I put my head down for a second. And the clock can't run fast enough. McKechnie on the draw. Hopefully the Spartans can just uh I don't know what happened with that. Give credit to McKechnie for draw. Mac Whitworth gets smashed in
the head by Anderson. I think it was Anderson. As Canina with the foul. Mac Whitworth gets the ball over the restraining line quickly. Over to McKechnie, back to Whitworth. Mac Whitworth goes by one. Gets a tomahawk chop by her head and she avoids that. As that's Werder. Mac Whitworth gets herself an 8-m attempt. Mac goes in. Here we go. As Mac Whitworth gets her second goal of the game. >> number five, McKenna Whitworth. Spartans down 16 to 3. Good news is in this half, I think it's score is tied 1-1 if you just uh did it for this half. McKechnie on the draw versus Canina. McKechnie flicks it back. Mac Whitworth there to pick it up. As the Spartans look to set up their offense. Whitworth with the ball over to McKechnie. Looks like the
Spartans are setting up their offense. Looking to play a little two-man. McKechnie flicks it over to Whitworth. Whitworth looking to turn the corner. Nothing there. Mehan with the ball. Gets the ball over to Whitworth. Over to Pellegrino. Pellegrino sees a little bit of daylight. Looks Good idea from the freshman. Sand there to pick it up. Good job by Sand to be there and she gets the ball knocked away. Mehan with a nice knock by Mehan to knock the ball away. Another knock by Cremins. Mac Whitworth scoops the ball up. Mac Whitworth turns around and Mac Whitworth scores a goal. That was a good job by Mehan and Emma Cremins knocked the ball loose and Mac Whitworth there to pick it up and get herself a little breakaway and get her third goal of the game.
That's Mac's first hat trick of the season. I'm sure we'll see plenty of those to come for the rest of the year. McKechnie up on the draw as Longmeadow brings back in Conway for their draw. Ball goes up. Do a redraw. >> [snorts] >> Good hands by the ref there when all nonchalant scoops that ball up. McKechnie and Conway back on the redraw. Mac Whitworth going Good job by Mac. Every I'm pretty sure all four of those girls knew where that ball was going and Mac Whitworth is the one that comes away with it and makes mince work out of everybody. Goes through four girls, blows one by Vanderhoof. Goal by number five, McKenna Whitworth. To get her first fourth goal of the game. Cut the lead down to 11. Score 16 to 5 now.
And I think if you Uh Spartans were down 15 to 2 at halftime and second half the Spartans are now up 3 to 1 against Longmeadow, so slowly being able to chip away at that lead, which is Hey, that's a good thing heading into it. New team, new new everything pretty much for the Spartans. And then Mac Whitworth once again. That's what I call cat-like balls right there. Mac quickly scoops it up. Longmeadow doesn't have anything for that. So, if we keep doing that, Mac can score another 10 goals. We'll all set. We'll be right back in it. Cremins nice pass over to Sand. Sand turns around No, Mehan, sorry. I think that could have been a little bit of a call. I think Longmeadow got away with that one. Mehan looked like that check
out a little up a little bit high. But Hansen with the ball goes in and out of the Spartans. Gets the ball up up. Looks like Longmeadow played the ball off the body. Looks like that was Rice. Couldn't mishandle it. Emma Cremins with the ball gets the ball over the restraining line. Sees a little bit of daylight. Only one girl left. Oh. Good job by Vanderhoof to come out and cut off that pass. They quickly quickly quickly get the ball up to Conway. Conway running up the field. Somebody's got to get in front of her and slow it down. She gets the ball over to Seeley. Seeley to Greenman as a sophomore turns around and Goal by number 11, Riley Greenman. Gets a goal. That's Riley Greenman's first goal of the game. As Lancers increase
their lead just a little bit more. 17 to 5 with 2:50 left in the third quarter. If anybody's watching this half, the ball has been going to the that uh third hash mark at the 45-yd line and goes right to Mac Whitworth and that's a good positive for the the game so far. See if somebody flicks it somewhere else and goes after it. And once again, it's where it is. With those four girls by a little bit longer, they're going to turn around. They're going to be closing that gap a little bit more. Uh this time Longmeadow gets away with it. Ball just a little bit high and Anderson comes up with the ball. The ball gets knocked away. Mac Whitworth there. Yep. Yep, she's quick. She comes up with it. She cuts in. There's
stick swinging everywhere. Mac gets the ball over the restraining line to set up the East Longmeadow offense. Over to Illingsworth. Back to Whitworth. Over to Pellegrino. Over to McKechnie, back to Pellegrino. Going to hit those cutter, nothing there. Over to McKechnie. McKechnie goes in and out. Gets gets hit. Yep, McKechnie will took a stick to the face. McKechnie will get herself an 8-m attempt. Vander >> Vanderhoof doing a good job on the 8-meter attempts tonight on the Spartans, keeping them in the game in that aspect. McKenney runs it in. McKenney gets knocked away. Longmeadow comes up with it. Spartans tough time on the 8-meters today. Hansen making quick work of the Spartans. She shoots it wide. Ball displaced nobody going after it. And Longmeadow goes into the final quarter with a 17-5 lead. All right,
we we're back for last quarter action. Lancers holding on to that lead barely winning 17-5. McKenney on the draw. They changed up against Werder. Werder gets that. Kicks the ball up. Canina behind the net. Oh, who's that? A 22. Slulick to Hansen over to Conway. Hastings back around to Greenman over to Slulick back to Hansen. Good work. A nice save by Julia Gray. Julia Gray comes out of the net. Spartans got to move open for her. Oh. Just over Mac Whitwer's head. And Lancers come back down. Little mishandle by Canina. Gets ball behind the net. To Greenman over to Slulick over to Anderson to Conway to Hansen. Longmeadow working the ball around. Conway Conway looking to take it in. Good job by Mac Whitwer forcing her to her right. Keep forcing her and Conway beats
her by around the corner. Goes up over the head of Gray. To um by number 14, Kerry Conway. Conway's third goal of the game. As Lancers are now up 18-5. Lancers have two girls with hat tricks. You got Conway scoring a hat trick and Hansen scoring a hat trick. Along with a bunch of other girls that scored. Ball goes up and Werder wins again. Over to Conway. Good grab by Anderson. Anderson behind the net throws it away. Spartans will get the ball. And Spartans turn the ball over. I believe they didn't run the ball in. Nice save. Good job by Julia Gray. She gets the ball up. Spartans can't handle it. Ball's loose. Good job by Hannah Eddy to knock the ball loose almost coming up with it. They don't. As Longmeadow gets possession once
again. Conway with the ball. Turns the corner. Nice look. To Hastings. Hastings throws the ball over the net. But Slulick is there to back it up. This is Slulick. Yeah. Hansen with the ball. Good work by Mac Whitwer and Hannah Eddy to stop her. Hannah Eddy up on Kerry Conway. Kerry Conway looking to go in. And that's good job by Mac Whitwer to stay on Conway's left shoulder. Forcing her to have to try to go to the right hand side. Ball's knocked loose. Good job by Julia Gray to come up with it. >> [crying] >> Gray with the ball. Spartans really got to look to get open. Good job by Gray to get the ball over to Mac Whitwer. Mac Whitwer going by all of Longmeadow. Just goalie left. And Mac Whitwer scores a goal.
So, as usual, the Spartans are always good in transition. Julia Dettol started with a one-hop pass from Julia Gray all the way down to Mac Whitwer. So, Mac Whitwer scores her fifth goal. She continues to be a menace on rest of the Western Mass teams. This is what I like to see. Put Eva Pellegrino on it. She did a good job in the second quarter winning those draws. I think she just out-wrestled the Longmeadow other draw player. And Pellegrino up against freshman versus senior right here. She gets the ball up. The ball bounces down. Conway comes up with it. Or Anderson comes up with it. Behind the net to Slulick. Slulick gets ball over to Hastings. Conway around to Hansen. Canina to Hansen. Hansen goes and goes up. Gets one by Gray as Henson scores
her fourth goal of the game. And Longmeadow's up 19 to 6. Pellegrino on the draw again versus Werder. Ball's up. Anderson away with it again. Henson with the ball. Gets the ball over to Green. They're looking to play a little two-man. Green feathers it in to Henson and Henson scores again. Henson and Whitworth both tied for five goals each to lead each team. And the Spartans are a young team back there on defense. They'll figure it all out. Longmeadow's definitely going to be the toughest team that they'll see all year. So, they'll go back, watch the video, see what they did wrong, and fix it next game. Ball's up. Anderson around with it once again. Loose ball. Pellegrino after it. Good job by Pellegrino to keep running through it. Avery Morgado comes up with it.
Avery Morgado with the ball. Gets ball over to Whitworth. Whitworth with space. And they set up the Longmeadow offense. Avery Morgado with the ball. Goes cross field over to McKackney. McKackney with the ball. McKackney goes by one. McKackney gets taken down from behind. And McKackney will get another 8-meter attempt. Savannah McKackney on an 8-meter attempt. Down 20 to 6 with 2:21 to go left in the game. McKackney runs in. And she misses wide. And nobody I don't even know what happened with that. McKackney with the ball getting it over behind the net to Whitworth. Whitworth with a little dodge, weave, turns around, takes a shot. And then McKackney's the only one there to back it up. I think when the Spartans go back and watch the film, they're going to have to realize they should
be always having somebody back there at all times to back up those plays. Over to Pelletier. Let's go, Jane. Turn around, take a quick fire shot. And here's Jane. Pelletier kicks it back out. McKackney switches left hand, loses it. Longmeadow's there to pick it up. Conway fires it up. Over to Henson. Henson to Anderson. Who's that? It's Anderson's first goal of the game. And that should be it for the Spartans as looks like the Spartans will lose their home opener 20 to 6. Sellout crowd and Spartan nation. Good news is this Well, I shouldn't say it, but hopefully it can't get any worse than this. It shouldn't. And that is it for the game. Have a good night, everyone.
