e e e good afternoon folks here we are for some girls soccer MIAA state tournament action here at East Long Meadow High School you've got Steve voo and Jeff McKenney tonight's matchup between East Long Meadow and putham Jeff good to be good to be up here in the booth with you again great to be here with you Steve glad we get one at least one more game together uh putam finishing off the season I believe at 88 and two making their way into the state tournament due to the 500 record and East LL squeaking in at 22 so this is like you said the preliminary round for the round of 32 winner of this game goes on to take on hangam in hangam I believe on Thursday not sure what time yeah rumor has it
maybe four o'clock Thursday so we'll see four o'clock would be a good time so better than the girls getting back at the middle of the night correct so we'll see um certainly seating wise um you know eastl meow is expected to expected to handle putam today but obviously all that gets decided on the field so yeah looking at their schedule there are some games looked like puam handled some the other teams Commerce and a couple of the other teams they seem to do pretty good put up a lot of goals against them so we'll see against the match up against easta Meadow yep we'll have to just watch and see hopefully you see some things and you establish some good habits um early on good possession soccer keep the ball move down the field take
some quality shots crash the net see what we can convert and see if we can um treat the fans to a sendoff here in the the home finale uh for this uh for this season brisk but not totally freezing and once you the calendar flips to November you've got to expect that for these games so brisk early afternoon late afternoon game here so start with a little bit of daylight but I would imagine the next hour or so we'll be in we'll be in that fall darkness and there's the opening whistle putham takes the opening kickoff East laow looks to possess and Anna Roman looks for an outlet down the sideline she takes it given some Fair room to operate goes to the middle looking for Susa didn't quite find her sc's got it oh
just wide good shot by Gabby D it's one of the things I'd like to see let them get a lot of shots yes yep that's going to be key increase your chances to score obviously the more the more shots you put on net so just wide right for that one with Gabby it'll be a putam goal kick for the restart East Long Meadow applies a high line of pressure with M Wht waiting at the 18 sluffs off slightly ball won by Gabby disi and it's cleared to the goal kick out to Saina mne offers a nice serve outside to Mia petto goes by the putam defender plays it outside to Gabby who looks to serve it serves a nice ball across M whitward ball still loose ball still loose and he slow meow plays it
just over the top good pressure in the opening minute here reather and get a new ball in here for a goal kick putam will play the goal kick from just about the center of their own goal goes out to the near sideline and a Roman wins it goes by the first Defender looks to take a second Defender inside she's stopped momentarily but maintains possession sends the ball through it's misplayed picked up by the goalkeeper there not an intentional pass back so she's able to play that ball with her hands she carries it out to the far corner of the Box punt goes out to Gabby DOI is slamto looks to lock it in here not let putam out of the back nicely Stepped On by Mia petto out of bounds for a putam throw in
and after a little back and forth it looks like Mia will take the throw in for isow gets it into to emusa who looks to go by a putam Defender she goes by one goes by two gets the ball caught in her feet a little bit into Addie Jordan who sizes it up at the top of the 18 goes in through herself operates through oops almost crosses through comes back in still alive in the middle in that box putam finally with the clear go goes out to Anna Roman drops the ball back to Kenna looks to build there to M uh to M witor see start spreading it out passing the ball around make some runs don't stand still yep nice ball from Emma this when you have the Cutters right right in the middle
off sides off sides must have been tight Mac just off sides but a good centering ball it's one of those good it's one of those the plays that I like to see Northampton tends to do that they go down to the end line and cross it back onto the PK area for the trailer yep luckily for putam he saw that was off sides ball comes back out uh momentarily possessed by putam uh dispossessed there by the Spartans Mack looks to drop the ball outside to The Far Side to Mia petto she does Mia looks to take the advantage there she finds Gabby DOI puts the ball just to the middle will it roll out for a corner no it will not but that will be played by emusa off the putam defender that'll be an
eastl will throw in from Deep just outside of the corner certainly putam looking to play a very defensive style here they don't have one player above their own 20 yard line so GNA try to pack it in and park the bus and see what they can do to stop the bleeding inside and then worry about getting some offense perhaps on counterattacks Mack goes through she looks to operate she goes by one Defender two Defenders has another puts it just over the top so certainly slam had some chances here in the first five minutes no goals to show for it yet but the pressure has been good little bit keyed up a little bit nervous early on sometimes after you get the first one that knocks the lid off and it gets a little bit easier
after that that ball girl I think might be a little busy back there today yes and on the goal kick it runs to the outside Mia petto takes her there looks to Saina mne who goes by two Defenders gives it to Susa good possession and Emma goes over the top as well okay that's good we'll get a few of those out of our system early on balls get over the top we'll just sort of find that laser focus go right through have to eventually get it down low right correct we do tend to hit the post a lot two two times in the last game against no three times in the last game against Northampton that was that was really something sometimes you go games at a time without seeing that three times in the
same game nicely won by Sabina slots the ball through to Addie Addie goes back to Sabina who goes back to the middle to Emma goes by one Defender two Defenders just place it place it and she does goal for emusa well done dribbled by the defense put it in for the first score of the game at the 3430 Mark remaining in the first half one- nothing Spartans first SE medal goal scored by number 10 Emma Susa Mass live stats right there okay so looks like Emma on the goal and Sabina with the assist uh putham kicks off tries for a little something eam controls Mack will distribute outside to Kenna who's got a lot of spaded in front of her if she wants to take that space which she does now we need somebody to
check back to the ball yep Addie wins there goes to Sabina room to sort of look and operate she's in no hurry very good plays the ball outside to Kylie Marino who looks to go back the other direction switch the field up a little bit SAA goes back away from pressure there where the defense had peeled off nice ball to Susa who's going to look with a head full of steam again has Mia petow nice slide through just a little heavy off size by Mia that's what I think these girls have to work on today is work on those cuts yep you know time those cuts for through ball when we get to that next level it's going to be a little bit little bit more of a challenge making timing nose runs with the
girls and everything so today's a really good day to work on all that and you're certainly that's again you don't want to get ahead of ourselves here but certainly having watched some spent the last couple of days watching some footage from hangam they're certainly going to see plenty of that ball that onew 2V1 Inside Out ball hangam is very good at doing that so be good to give them some of that to deal with on their own if we could bring that as well ball goes back to Susa looks to oops heavy touch back to mne Jill Stevens comes all the way up from that Center back spot gives it to Mack nice lead by Mac y That's What I to see quick passes right yep oops Addie runs into some congestion there gets in
front o just wide left with it with putam P playing so many people behind the ball it gets so congested you're you really got to try I know it's hard to try to open the field up but you got to try to do that and stretch them out a little bit just to get just to get some the congestion out of the way Ari Goldman and E Butler in for Gabby disi and mck whitler putham goal kick is momentarily won by Kenna Marino now controlled by mne who looks through to Susa Susa turns the face up dangerous ball here ball goes through that'll be a corner I believe goal kick yikes okay I guess I didn't see it wouldn't be the first time so putam looks to play to The Far Side controlled there by
Kylie Marino with a head down to Mia petto looks to play the ball through nicely done to Susa there goes by one time two time hit it and Emma finds the back of the net once again that was a nice nice initial ball ball played from both Kylie and Mia well done just over 31 and a half minutes remaining in the first half uh East Long Meadow two putam zero Anna Martin Lucy Parsons and Lily Dunn and for Addie Jordan emmaa and K Kylie burino I like to see at some point in today's game is Mia Mia yep yep oh if you can turn around and get your upcoming class next year you know get all the Freshman out there and everything get them all out there together and let's see what and see what
they can do moving the ball around second the game scored by number 10 Emma sua by number Mia Lucy's got some brand new cleats on shiny oh shiny white look at you good call yeah I'm good with the cleats that's it playoff playoff boots that's what we got that's it that's it you got those white cleats and after one or two times on the turf they'll end up looking like my kids that look like they're gray yes correct that's is it a little too heavy for Mia nope she's got it able to turn the ball in from that far sideline she brings the ball in again continues to possess plays the ball through to the middle well done was that Mia yeah Mia go left left footed shot by Mia p well done good job
Mia especially using your left foot anytime you use your left foot to score a goal take it absolutely so the Spartans have come out with a barrage of early goals here not something we've seen much of this season so we're happy to see it Eve Eve Butler Eve Butler Mia from Mia petto from Eve Butler okay so Saina will wisely let this play out and she does lets it run long here on the nearest sideline she'll get the ball back in quickly will he done o oist by number and it looks like we're waiting for a ham throw here on the near sideline right in front of the Spartan bench nicely we get an illegal throw call have not seen many of those this season got Kenna Marino playing up top like to see a
assist from Marino toino that would be nice that would be nice to see so this could allow coach Gary to look at some like you said some different formations and some different personnel and try a few different things today Ari Goldman with space in the middle of the field slots the ball through nicely to Kenna Marino who's on o nicely Saved By The Keeper there Eve Butler with a chance from the outside nice save by Mia played through by Eve o just over the top those should no soccer runs for four runs anyways it just keep running it just keeps just keep just keep running it and it looks like we're going to have a keeper switch at this point looks like Chuchu godet coming on for Emerson vieno and also it looks like Kenna
off and Mia petto off and I was not paying attention to who else went on there Gabby D goie and Addy Jordan went back in good work this is a time where I'd really like just ball not even get in the air yep just keep it on the ground make those short quick passes a lot of give and goes work on those things yes and this is the place where you don't worry so much about your opponent you worry about what you're going to do and you want to say let's get you know let's try to get 10 consecutive passes let's try to do this let's try to finish Parsons ball goes wide for the goes long for the corner Lucy doesn't have a goal yet this year right no she has that one that
was hit the side of the we thought was a goal correct you saw met on the corner kick looks like Sabina mne will be taking it when she gets a ball as as soon as she gets a ball she'll be ready to serve it and here it comes rolling out to her I'm calling Lucy Parsons right here in a okay side volley keky looks to serve nice low hitter into the middle middle there for Gabby and saved by The putham Keeper who looks to walk the ball out to the far corner of the box where she'll serve a punt from there waits for numbers although she still got five of her teammates in the box they're really not they really are just kind of packing it in packing it in yeah that's what if they
can turn around pass it around in the Box oh there's a side volley by ooh almost there good try by Lucy on a nice Cross by Eve Butler that's where I like to see him just pass the ball through everybody if they can pack it in you can make those quick passes in the box with eight girls in it yep and use it as much as a training session as anything else yeah um because you're going to need it for you're going to need it for Thursday afternoon that the Hingham harboran or I guess Harbor women because I think the mascot is the harbor men so the hangam harbor women I'm sure will um will present a lot of different looks so you want to work on the things that you want to work on
today Kylie Marino and Emma Sosa in for Jill Stevens and Saina mne are coming off Eve looks to control the ball here plays it outside to gab looks like we've got an injured putam player on the field and while the injury is attended to we'll take a pause here at East Long Meadow with 25 minutes and 20 seconds remaining in the first half uh East Long medal three putam zero e okay looks like the injured putam player was able to get get herself up and walk off under her own power which is always good she's walking with the coach separate from Diane which is always nice to see that so shaken up but able to leave the field East low will reset their formation looks like it'll be may be a drop ball East L
works the far sideline ball goes from Gabby to Eve Eve looks to give it back to Gabby who has the chance to now play it across broken up by the putam defense and that will run long on the far sideline for a deep east Lomb throw in looks like Gabby disi will be the one taking it give her some motion and runs here Eve settles the ball there looks to distribute and that'll be a corner kick they got so loose she's she's G to score a goal today it's gonna be on that side volley side volley side volley like the third time she's been there for one so Jeff has called it looks at some point in the game I have another okay well we got we got that there she another 65 minutes to
do it we've got some time is SLO Corner comes in who's there oh Kylie Maro hand ball coming out maybe a nice save on an Emma rip Ari goes up doesn't quite get it but Lily Dunn controls it there she pushes it to Eve who then continue the ball outside to Lucy Parsons who if she can get a touch right by the defender well done still in along the Baseline well done there right to the middle and Ari Goldman o goes far gold with the gold good pressure Ari Goldman with her second goal of the season first goal coming against was the gamewinner against low or the second goal against la oh that's that's a good that's a good question I think it was the second goal maybe the first goal first goal is list
putam plays a long ball back to their scor by number two Goldman assisted by number fourie Jordan so the PA call goes from there Addie looks the op in the middle pushes the ball outside to Eve brings it outside looks to serve across the middle looks like Lucy called for off sides there almost put one in on the volley off the side volley right but what does it do hits the crossbar because that's what that's what we do here that's e that away that's what we do if there were if there were a game where you got credit for hitting the crossbar we would be we'd be world leaders yes fought for by sus in the middle Emma would Emma would be leaving that one be the champ yeah ball goes between two Defenders Anna
Roman runs it down she'll look to distribute outside to Lily Dunn who's got plenty of room in front of her she'll Drive the ball right at the defending player attacker go through her gives it up to Addie Jordan who has a good look at the goal nice Stutter Step pulls it back has Susa in the middle she'll distribute there Emma plays the ball off just wide again good opportunity for the Spartans to to start to look at again some things that might not necessarily be things you need to work on today but real strong possession things that'll help you out for the for the trip to hang them on Thursday lining up to look like maker Varsity debut is Caitlyn beak as Captain Ken Marino is cheering her on oh excellent see that nice in
an opportunity like this to get people a chance to play in the state tournament Susa wins the ball there looks to serve across and it goes all the way through to Lily Dunn who's got an outside runner in Anam Marino she's also got space in the middle herself gives it off to Emma who can push it back to her and the for sometimes I like to see that maybe I don't know if Anna was calling for it but that's twice I've seen Anna make a run down the line that it's a good run like to see them give the ball down the line Y keep the defense honest yep and that's again that's something that's going to help you down the road so into the game looks like it's m whitler SAA mne Kenna Marino
and Caitlyn beak out there playing Center mid off is Anna Roman Lucy Emma Sosa Addie and Gabby so the ball goes through to whitw playing a Midfield position she looks to see and Survey what she's got continues to hold Waits tries to call forward the run from run by an Martin yep controlled there by Eve Butler through to Ari Goldman who continues to possess good ball that's the ball that's the outside ball good so that's why I like I like those give and goes from the out of bounds rolled out of bounds that'll be a putham goal kick just about 20 minutes remaining here in the first half East Long Meadow in control four to nothing over the visiting uh the visitors from putham I'd like to see Kylie get the ball take it up
go through one or two girls and Lead pass to her sister that'd be nice we've got the Marino to Marino call from Jeff in the booth that's what we'd like to see that's the other one I'd like to see I'd like to see them all get a goal but that'd be nice that'd be a good one the last last time these two girls are gonna be playing on a this field together in soccer yep oops ball goes through and it's run down nicely there by Kylie Marino wins it on the far side gives it to mne who pushes it through to whitler who could keep it coming and she does well done looks to control comes the ball back yep that's good goes outside to Lily Dunn drive it at her good Caitlyn beak goes
outside to Kenna she'll have a chance with her oh had it and then just overran it I would not have overrun that ball because I would not have gotten to that ball and it it out before I got there would have been no opportunity 10 feet in front of you and you would have just looked and said forget about it would have been no opportunity for me to overrun that ball this will be a Thro in from about as deep as you can get in the corner on the near side from putam Kenna wins the headball Ari Goldman controls nice cross puts it to mne who looks to drop the ball back in possess beaks got it also pulls the ball back herself nicely done good job Bo to pass it off gives it to
Martin Martin back to beak have a shot to turn she looks very unselfish they're trying to work that goal for Kenneth yeah Ian that's Caitlyn beat just touched the ball four times in her debut and led to four good passes so you want to talk about having nerves and not having nerves she made four good passes and uh doing everything right out there that looked good a lot of poised possession there trying to get the Senor Kenan Marino with a goal sorry Kenna's going to have the win on the outside here and she plays the ball up in the air lets it she'll Shield it out one of her Specialties looks to find Beaker Goldman nicely played by one of the putham Defenders to head the ball out ball goes through m whitward is going
to bring it back let Goldman look to reset it she'll play it wide to Butler Butler with a nice touch there that looks good goes mne with room to operate sees the field yes dribbles back plays it back outside to Eve said that Eve was off and came back on to get receive that pass that's one of those things Steve where it goes back to whoever plays the next game if we play hangam uh Those runs we've had off sides a lot of times we have to really watch those ones yep because you don't want to have you know our score scoring opportunities come near you know far and near and uh you don't want to you don't want to squander any with sides you want to capitalize and maximize all those attempts that's a
good ball across beak plays it through to Marino Kenna's got the chance plays it at the keeper nice pass nice turning shot by Kenna Kenna Marina with two shots on net save both times by the goalie so should get one y third time charm keeper brings it out to the near side this is the first time we've seen her come out usually she's more comfortable playing it out of the other far side of the field beak has a chance to play it plays it nicely on the carpet right over to Sabina Sabina goes back to Lily Dunn who looks to play it back to beak beak with a nice turn nice drive and a shot just wide Addie Jordan Gabby dusi in for Lily Dunn and McKenna whitler E Butler with a good touch nice
win good pressure applied by the defense from putam Eve still able to win it through putam will look to clear gets it out of the 18 but they're unable to clear the that second line of that second wave of Spartan attackers putam turns the ball back down on the far side and goal goal kick coming out foul coming out looks like a foul deep in the deep in the putam defensive Zone they'll be playing it out from there looks like they're trying to decide who'll take the kick and put the ball back in play Saina wins the ball to Mia petto petto looks to play through to Kenna putam steps in to momentarily disrupt it Gabby to skolly that ball had a lot of English on it yes it did oh substitutions Anna Roman Lucy
Parsons in for Saina mney and Kenna Marino and the ball is in and it runs long that'll be a putt and goal kick coming out of the back I love the like white cleat Steve that's all I can see when I see her out there you see those bright white like white cleats it's nice off the red we all know I'm talking about Lucy right of course with those beautiful CLE little bit of shiny silver to him back in the old days when I was playing I remember a game we played at Palmer against Dean Tech and there was a kid who had just moved from Poland Chris lagowski and we were laughing at his white cleats well eight minutes into the game when Mr legowski scored his third goal nice pass by Lucy oh
almost by yes well done needless to say we weren't laughing at the cleats for too long yes petto nicely turns the ball back drop it back to beak beak looks at two players doesn't like the look so she turns back to the middle wisely to possess it Addie Jordan goes deep to Anna Martin good possession that's four Spartan passes let's see how long we can keep this ball without giving it up that' be five good work look to possess by Lucy Lucy with a cross Anna Roman almost had it hand ball so again this will be another um this will be another dead ball restart from Deep probably inside the six it looks like so is that the same Chris that went on to play for the Pioneers yes it is yeah so his s
is that his daughter that played for Northeastern uh played for the PO national team I think that's right he went to South Aly I believe so yes needless to say yeah good family jeans so the white cleats you're saying everybody should get white well I don't know but I'll tell you after that game I'm somehow not sure they would have worked for me but I don't think it was necessarily I don't think it was the cleats and there's a scrum in the corner and it's played over there and it looks like it'll be a throwin uh from deep in the uh deep in the corner be a looks like an East metal throw so it's a Lucy Parson throw from the corner controlled there by E Butler to Anna Roman Ball's out Loose here a
little bit down by Jordan nicely drop to the middle for Butler she could have a strike from there but she tries to find Roman and the ball will go long 12 minutes remaining here in the first half 4 nothing East Long Meadow in a game that's looking more and more like a tuneup for a matchup against the number 11 seated uh hangam harboran on Thursday afternoon putam plays the goal kick out controlled momentarily but then one by Eve Butler to arri Goldman Ari plays a ball through the middle to The Far Side looking for Gabby didn't quite get it through cleared moment arily by putam but controlled by petto drops the ball back to Susa at Center back which we have not seen I think that's a new position I don't think we've seen her
in the back yet this season no that's a high foot that's a high foot yep Ari took one off the forehead yeah but the other girl is down looks like Ari looks looks like she'll be coming off uh but she looks all right so that's good Lily dun will go on for Ari as she gathers herself after that high foot to the face area and we've got a puam substitution coming on as well like the sportsmanship the girl on the other team yep even though she was the one that went down she got up and made sure already was okay yep I think it's to the nose okay yeah that's what it looks like Diane working on that nose area nice small ball from petto back goes and up in front shot by Lucy puam
keeper controls takes it to the far corner of the box that's a different play be a punt distribution from there and we'll have an e throw in on the far sideline Eve thinks about it but leaves it for Martin Martin in the back correct Susa goes to Dunn Dunn looks to turn goes to Butler she's got room to drive to goal shot is deflected by a puam Defender putham looks to that outside so they can regroup and reset their defense inside the 18 another turn there ball is up in the air Dunn looks to control with the head she wins the ball brings it down to her feet rolls over it with the foot nice pass yep Jordan looks to possess strikes a nice Ball but wide from about 25 yards out here's where it's
going to happen Steve okay both marinos in I think they're going up top mck whitward and Sabina mne in Caitlyn beak Mia petto Lily D and Lucy Parsons are off Kylie's playing up top now so this is where we're looking for that Marino connection yes mne plays the ball out of the back I think this might be putnam's first time possessing in this part of this this offensive half of the field shortlived dispossessed and Susa comes across Midfield drives the ball herself gives the ball through to the middle nice pass and a Roman just a little bit long almost just a little heavy and it gives Chase all the way down putam keeper gathers it looks to distribute for a putham counter out of the back one there by Butler balls in air to Roman
knocked out by putam they look to clear it but they can't get past the Zone Addy Jordan wins it nice Save By The Keeper yeah parries it with the first touch and then saves it to herself I think she could have a career high save saves in today's game um she may have a lot of opportunities yep a lot yep that's true Butler looks to play it outside to Kylie she does Kylie possesses from there serves to the middle there it is oh that was going to be the Marino connection that talked about that there's only so much Kylie can do to give it to her sister the rest is up to you Kenna that's a great pass by Kylie Marino Kenna's just off sides so we'll see she's trying to cheat to get that
extra two feet to get the speed to blow by the girl but sometimes Ken you just got to pull back you don't need that two feet kid oh hilarious he I have a feeling we're going to need some we might need some filler material for the second half Jeff we might need to work on seeing what we can get for yeah maybe some backstory we'll see ball goes outside from mne to toi she looks to operate there she puts the ball through to Roman nice ball Roman then serves it for Kenna Kenna has draws three players attention that Ball's going to be played out by putam will wait for a throw in there looks like ma whitler will take the throw Addy checks two Addy Jordan squares and shields the ball back to Sabina who
has time to settle plays it back to Susa Susa looks to play it through to Kylie Marino but good through I don't think they were on the same page about where that ball was going six and a half minutes remaining in the first half uh four to nothing lead for your East meow Spartans couple of putam substitutions come on as they look to enter the ball from the back that's a good kick yep goal kick goes down the middle puam controls coming out of the back and Center back mck Saina mne controls gets out of trouble with two Defenders oh we have a chance for ju to play one she does sends the ball up to the outside to Gabby disi who's got kth through if she sends her yep o little heavy let bet
you this number four on their other team I bet she sees their leading score I think she takes a lot of direct kicks and scores or goals that way yep Roman plays through two Defenders drops the ball off to Kylie Marino who looks to get her hips around that one Kenna does it again off Sid she keeps trying to get past those Defenders Kenna you're fine with your speed kid just hold off what a great pass by Kylie again for all you at home I don't want you Karens to be upset at me I'm just joking around with Kylie and Kenna Kenna's a great kid and she knows I'm kidding of course I'll speak on behalf of some defenders in the crowd sometimes when they we get a chance like this a game where you
get to move up gets you get a little bit get a little get a little eager that's just what happens you get a little bit eager that's all ball goes outside to There He Go it's a through ball Butler she onid Roman goal by Anna Roman an Roman puts that one away Anna Roman with her first career goal good job Anna well done nice strike good hit is it Pat was it assist by Kylie was it Kylie or was it Eve we'll have to wait and see have to see what the good touch by Anna Roman a nice finish yep five nothing with just over four minutes go I forgot they have the scoreboard see it yep so it was Anna Roman from E baller correct and the ball goes through putnam's got a chance
to win the ball here not quite a little bit too too heavy on that wide ball uh ISO will look to get the ball back in play with a Mack whitward throw in goes to Sabina mne Anna Roman assisted by number I like that nice give and go by Anna Martin and Addie Jordan Eve looks like she could be off to the race as Kenna just get out of the way I think Eve was on sides I think Kenna was off sides yes I'm GNA go with Ken's off sides on that I agree I think that was in fact the play I think it was Kenna again right yeah she had her hands on her head yeah okay here's what we need to do line everyone up and then just play a ball right over
this to make sure everyone's on side as if it were a direct kick and then just play a looping ball over the top let Kenna run onto it I think there's only one or two girls in western Mass that could catch K I know in a race she could just go right by here we go send her there we go now she's Off to the Races nice cross E Butler with it Eve Butler bangs They Go in he's official saying no goal or he saying goal I think he's saying no goal that looked like a goal my bet would be that if this were not a five to nothing game that would have been a goal that would have been a goal that looked like it was barred down but cuz generally when it goes
bar down like that that would have been Eve Butler's first career goal really so yeah I would re I would I I I don't think you have to be a prophet to say I don't think the Spartans are going to be the beneficiaries of a ton of calls no going forward here I think that anything close will probably be sent the other direction ball goes back to Anna Roman outside to M whitward she'll play the ball back to juj Juju godett in goal looks to then switch Fields gives the ball outside to Anna Martin nicely done nicely played KY that's a nice ball Kylie man that's a nice ball E Butler stays with it looks for a cross oh Kenna Kenna Turner shoot three points Kenna inside of two minutes remaining in the first half
she's trying oh ken of shouldered off the ball goes right by the defender one move inside take her inside nice pass he's there kenth stays with it and good save first T first touch she had it I think the second touch she carried it over Kenan Marino getting subbed out by Jill Stevens maybe can't believe she can't believe she's having a hard time sure somebody's going to turn around and tell her Ken of the net is uh oh it's a big net there oh she scores a lot of goals in Lacrosse on a small net you would think yes oh shoots left just wide just wi I think Kenna knows she's trying scores more goals in Lacrosse a lot more goals but keep up the good work now there haven't been too many low stress
games for the Spartans or their fans this season lots and lots and lots and lots of one one goal games this is a nice change of pace yes it is so we'll go to the half uh with your Spartans leading the visiting uh the visitors from putam five to nothing we'll pick it up on the other side e e e looks like both teams are breaking the Huddle about 30 seconds remaining on the countdown clock for halftime get ready for some second half action here in the fall Twilight uh second half begins with the Spartans uh holding a five nothing lead uh against putham the teams will switch ends of the field they'll look to try to pick up where they left off again hopefully the Spartans are able to work on some things involving
possession and runs and some things that'll benefit them later this week as they make the lengthy trip to hangam ball girls as well switching sides oh correct that's well noted 40 minutes showing on the clock the officials get themselves set counting the number of players on the field making sure that we've got 11 and 11 official checks his watch on the far side checks with the near official checks with the booth and we're off e lto plays the ball back Susa drops it back to to scoli who looks to play to Jordan Jordan goes through the first two putham Defenders and pulls it back looks back to mne who looks to go to Kylie Marino could be a lot of possession here looking at Jill Stevens back to M whitward pressure applied by putam on
the far side now the ball goes to Anna Roman looks to go through to Ken that's a better ball just place it kid just place it kid and she gets it she's got Marino there it is that Kenna Marino from Anna Roman nice pass by Anna Roman to Kenna Marino who needs an extra step when you're that fast yeah I think on that one there they made sure she was 10 yards on sides before they made the pass oh but good job by Canen on score a goal yes nine from eight yes well call Jeff e SL possesses I'll wait till the yeah you doing a lot of play byplay putting the ball down yes correct SP operate here on the near so that's some good combination passing there and sus looks to take the
ball to the corner shimi looks to drop it across Far Side for Roman Roman plays the ball back Jordan into scoy but Sabina on the back good control good technique can keep keep that ball that's off of a puam Defender and it's cleared down the middle Jill will play it all the way back to Juju godet net Spartans will look to build out on the far side ball goes out to M witw this is still one of the games where you don't want to develop any of the bad habits you work on a good passes right yep exactly right Jill not happy about being dispossessed and uses a good shoulder tackle to win the ball back still use this to do a lot of give and goes that look like a hand ball and actually
probably a smart hand ball impeded the progress going through easto continues their possession of the Back Field Juju godet will come out play that one out to M whitward who turns beautiful turn to the outside comes back to the ball doesn't like her look there turns and turns back Roman gives to mne nice turn gives it to Jordan again you want to try one more to get that ball wide yep exactly now you need to make that through ball that through ball yep suu with the ball in just plays It Wide with that shot Ham's watching this game just this is how every one of our games goes by right we we show this level of dominance and scoring at each game every game yep putam goal kick coming out of the back and we
got that play the ball goes through and will it make it all the way out putham Defenders play it there played by Susa and it'll be a goal kick very good and we'll wait for putton to regroup 36 minutes remaining six to nothing your Spartans comfortably in control tonight looking for uh looking for a date with hangam later this week initially won by putam nicely laid off there by Marino Gabby in front Kylie Marino steps up Gabby again with the ball there you've got to make sure of that pass there gets loose to the outside Sabina mne controls looks to push nice ball outside petto steps to it drops the ball back you got to be careful about that ball in the middle if not for today then in definely going forward yeah like you
were saying you just want to make sure that you get that you're doing good things and not uh not reinforcing any bad habits that's all yeah today that won't be bad next game that could be a breakway and and putam puts the ball on net controlled by godet at her feet distributes out to The Far Side for ma whitler who will look to change the point of attack on that far side of the field and bring it up from there Jordan checks back to the ball pushes it nicely through to Gabby disi well controlled by gab right there good ball Anna Roman will get there right through it she'll have a chance to play onto it Susa runs around the defender nicely has a chance to put it away goes just High over the top
of the crossbar Anna Martin Caitlyn be Ari Goldman Lily Dunn Lucy Parsons and Eve Butler in Emma Sosa gab Gabby scy Jill Stevens Kenna Marino M whitward and Abby Jordan that is a slew of substitutions well done well done Jeff so right now Steve this is your uh right yeah all the seniors are out minus Mac and Emma yes so this is your team for the next three years and see what they can do see how they can string together some passes and see what this looks like that's it yeah I want to see giv good good ball little she's on the referee says Butler is on side she'll dig to keep it in she does good save puts it right on the oh good job by Eve nice try ball goes through pettow wins
it spun off the ball good work by a putham player nice pass four is a decent little player yep Butler has two here looks to sort of get through the two of them she does plays it on and the goalkeeper had it and then went through that'll be the goal for Eve Butler now that's e first goal right she the other one got taken away off the post bar down yes say it went in yeah Eve Butler with her first career goal good job by Eve Butler yeah E Butler I don't think there's gonna be an assist on that think we'll see but nice pass by Mia but I don't think that led to we'll see direct assist maybe yep 15 from 16 15 from 16 good call 16 16 me Eve Butler from Mia
petto yeah Mia petto padding the mass live stats today right she got what fill it upes she have two at least a goal and two assists I think so looks like no ball girl at the far end I would tell juj not to be in any hurry to bring that ball back just let the let the clock run and get out of here today with the win injuries that's one of the things you normally would say you want to get out there without any good pass by Caitlyn beak you don't want to get the injuries on a team but you only coach Gary plays every girl on a team correct that's the other thing yep so speed with some nice nice possession at Midfield yeah I know you've said it a couple of times Jeff
that number four for putam I bet you if she had a Lucy Parson's on she can go by one girl she have a breakaway she does slot it slot it slot it good job good job by luy Parsons with her first career Varsity goal good job by Lucy nice to see all the Spartans out there congratulating The Freshman well done she works hard yeah deserved you see she took three good touches she didn't her first touch wasn't big one to get the goalie opportunity to get the ball and doesn't panic and puts the ball right by the keeper what a great job The Freshman are on a team here they're going to be good the next couple years that's unassisted I think he said 22 so I don't know if Kylie had the ball out
of the back sure give it to Kylie I just that was called yeah correct scor by lucs assisted BYO could have been a little bit more energetic with that it's Kid's first goal we are energetic always well we're always energetic that's I'm just K I'm just kidding I'm just kidding you SLO continues to possess a Midfield padow looks for the overlap with Butler Butler's got it there ball goes through to Goldman Goldman outside to Butler Butler with the service to The Far Side of the field Mar goes through turn and shoot Anna Martin Anna Martin shoots just left good shot by Anna Martin that go in no did that went in that was not looked like side thought side no oh all right Anna Martin with her first career goal good job by Anna Martin
let's see what he says hold on yeah usually he does 12 from eight so Anna ran it looks like we've got among some other substitutions we've got a goalkeeper switch for Islam meow uh Angelina Leone ninth grader coming on to get some time between the pipes for the Spartans so I believe that's now the entire uh the entire Spartan lineup I believe that's everyone has everyone has played today which is if you can get that in a state tournament game that's always that's it's great to be able to say that you got the entire roster in um a absolutely Saina mne keeps the ball there play to the middle Kylie Marino looks to play all the way back to Leon and net she distributes outside slow looks in The Far Side so we're just under
just under 29 minutes remaining in the second half uh East meow ahead nine to nothing emosa taking it to the corner get a cross off if somebody can be there nicely done Jordan played through to the middle Jordan plays the ball back looks for disi who's going to then play the ball back as well to Caitlyn beak has time she has time that's fine she'll continue to just hold the ball there well done good work by The Freshman y pushes it all the way back to that outside corner Anna Martin controls there gives to Susa Susa and Martin drop again mne will play all the way back Kylie opens her shoulder plays this way to change the point of attack bring it to the near side of the field Caitlyn beak drives the ball to
space Gabby dooli drops it back to beak beak looks to the middle to mne who has time to control and operate gives the ball to Susa who also has time now draws two Defenders serves a nice ball to the outside corner to Eve Butler who then turns the ball back to Gabby to Ari Goldman Goldman looks to beak beak looks to push the ball through to mne surveys the territory looks to serve outside now to Anna Martin Martin drives in given some pressure by putam good series of possessions for the Spartans and of course I just jinxed it because that's what happens every time I open my mouth and the ball goes all the way back to Angelina Leoni and goal plays out to beak beak finds a nice through ball yep and that's again
that's the kind of things you like to see even you don't worry about the score you just want to see good fundamentals that Mak threading threading a good pass y sometimes a little tough when you don't play at that high intensity y but it's good to make those good passes out there ball goes back to Anna Martin over to speina mne at Midfield drops it back to Butler Butler looks to Goldman Goldman possesses there and goes back to skoy skoy here no hurry no rush maintains the poised possession back to Butler Butler passes to Goldman dispossessed there by putam Spa goes through two Defenders gives it to Susa who has a number of options in front plays It Wide to Caitlyn beak nice pass by Caitlin yep o tried to get her through there Goldman
has it there gives it back to beak beak with a nice spinning turn still on it and that'll be a putting them throw in deep in their own end on the near side line and a foot race back to the goalkeeper on the nice through ball or on over the top service really from the putam backfield Kylie Marino KY with a nice move y gets it to Gabby disi who looks to operate here good switch of the fields yep ball goes outside off of the outside of SS's foot Sabina now has it back in the middle Butler looks there has Addy Jordan who knocks it through to Gabby disi who plays the ball through long back to Addie Jordan who looks to then drop the ball back Contin to work on those individual moves turns
on the sideline pressure from putam forces the ball out of bounds for a putam throw in in front of the Spartan bench Lucy Parsons Lily Don M whitler Anna Roman and Mia petto Kylie Marino Kenna Marino Sabina mne Emma Susa and Addy Jordan out Roman plays the ball back to Center back back Lucy Parsons not a usual again not a usual P Personnel assignment for Lucy and the ball comes back to her there has a chance to possess serves the ball to the outside to Anna Anna Martin has one touch to go forward and she does nice through ball there m petto gets the ball over to m whitler and Mack drops the ball back to Parsons there Parsons will play outside at that outside back spot to Eve Butler Butler plays ahead to Goldman
lays it off nicely to the skie now that's the good one two yep that's a good ball to just remember that going through cait beak is on side drive to the net kid drive to the net drive to the net take her take her take her take her take her yes nice take good ball back to Ari Goldman back to be beak looks to turn on her has time drops the ball back to Butler who is going to continue to just change the point of attack Lily Dunn drops the ball back to the outside Anna Martin comes forward gives to M Wht were there who drops the ball back again to Parsons she'll come to the middle to Roman Roman serves outside to to ski who has time to make a decision there plays it
back to Butler Butler again with time placed to the middle L done plenty of time to receive and turn and face up Mack pushes a nice ball outside to an overlapping Anna Martin that's a good run right there for Mack witor who then drops the ball all the way back to Parsons I think we found a new position for Lucy Center back back back goes ball goes all the way back to Leon back there she has time plays it out to Eve Butler Eve knows there's pressure coming goes to beak beak controls on the sideline now if she runs through just run through for her on that overlapping run yep send her very good good bomb yeah I'm really I'm impressed with these these freshman their touch on the ball the passing they haven't I
don't think I've seen very rarely have I seen any of them just kick it kick it yeah even when there's a girl on them they always possess it and get out of trouble and make the right pass 21 minutes remaining uh here at East Low High School uh a rather lopsided score uh but really given the differences in seedings and the different caliber uh of teams that these these two teams have played this this is is not unexpected this is no knock against puam this is just a different well when you're playing in it's a different level of soccer exactly right it's like it's like Bel toown South highley they they play us yep all year and then they go and they drop down a division and now they're playing you know whereas a team
like putam it's tough they play you know more you know in the division where right it's a different different of soccer right and then when it comes to the state tournament they have to play the teams that are in the Colmes division that are typically tougher y tougher teams so it's a putam throw in on the near sideline uh cleared there by Butler controlled at Midfield by putam who will look to serve the ball in Leon will have a chance for the play out with her foot there goes to Anna Martin who has a chance to nicely play the ball through Lily Dunn has a chance to turn back a little bit of pressure we'll serve it back to Leone ball comes to change the point of attack Roman to Butler Butler looks inside to
Kylie Marino who has a nice layoff pass Y and the ball gets thrown in by putam controlled by the Spartans Eve looks to distribute the ball to Anna Roman who will play it all the way back to Leone has the ball on on her foot looks to switch it and she does over to Martin putham gives chase the ball goes back to Leon again and the ball goes there to Roman outside to Butler up to Marina who has a chance to beat that Defender and she does looks for a chance to serve just serve beak through yep I'm not really sure that she was offside but I understand the call I don't get some of these obviously we're not picking on the officials but I think Caitlyn beak might have been off sides Mack wasn't
the ball's not played to Caitlyn so technically that should not be off sides because Caitlyn can still go back correct if you uninvolved in the play that's how it should be I think a lot of times they just see somebody and call it correct not looking to get any calls in this game just just for the fans just for our fans at home of course for our viewers at home and a lot of the fans that are just out there that don't know we try to provide that service I don't want to say what schools you're from but listen we got 18 minutes we got to keep ourselves out of trouble for the that's why I didn't say I didn't say any schools that's fine thank you they're no longer around call it that way
okay and we back to live action the ball gets played back to Angelina Leone in goal for Spartans who looks to serve it wide to Martin who also has help out there from M whitward who came out to assist on the outside ball in the corner Martin chasing it down putam their first offensive uh opportunity today and's broken up by Ari Goldman chance here for petto to send beak beak looks outside to Kylie Marino who has chance to go forward and she does if she goes with beak she could just push beak through to the middle ball goes back to Eve Butler Goldman looks to slot it's the right idea it's good ball movement it's good inside out action puam looks to go with more of an offense this half yep last half it seemed
like they packed the box now they have a lot more girls up top Miss shows because they're getting more opportunities out there ma possesses and takes a look to see where she's going to bring the ball next again a lot of back and forth possession he slow simply looking to maintain that possession and keep it try not to give the ball away work around the pressure look to try some um different passes and some different points of attack As you move forward ball continues to move here nicely touched by Goldman there to maintain that possession beak goes to the middle Goldman goes to the outside looks to push the ball through to beac beak Caitlyn be shoots and scores Caitlyn beak with her first far City career game and goal good job by Caitlyn beak
good work for Caitlyn beak that was nicely done nice pass by Ari Goldman by good job by Caitlyn to place that low far post yep some excellent coaching at the Youth Level this is always a tough moment for me as a as a fan of soccer I I understand I just I feel like maybe we've maximized what we can get out of this game and we say okay let's yeah wrap up I I I know you need to play out the last 15 minutes but you don't want the Spartans to get into any bad habits and likewise you don't you know plam doesn't need to get one of the things that we always used to do is I know it's far SE level we used to pull off more more people so we would be
like 11 on eight that way there you can still play at a higher intensity well that's the thing right because that's my only you know my only concern is that obviously there's a we've got a huge game coming up on Thursday that's all that's going to be you know a different a different kind of contest and you just want to make sure like you said that your level of focus and intensity um remains high it's just it's always a tough task in a game like this to to figure out how to how to play it what to do yeah these girls from putting doing a lot of running yep chasing yep ball gets played all the way back to the east longw medal keeper Angelina Leon looks to see what she'll do plays the ball
through the middle to Saina disrupted by the puam attackers look to see where to go a little bit of room to operate and move nice defended there by mne Goldman wins the ball plays it outside to Kylie Marino kyy in no hurry looks back to Anna Roman plays the ball through to mne nicely turned that's a good ball out oh good she had her good good good yep and she'll bring it to the outside and then drop the ball back good and Roman looks to play the ball back again Leon goes outside to is that Lucy out there Lucy yeah ball goes outside to Anna Martin up to Lily Dunn Dunn looks to possess and perhaps cut the ball back here gives the ball to Anna Roman at Midfield gives an interior pass nicely nicely
possessed and hit by mne drops the ball outside to whitward who is ruled onside by the official ma will take that corner run and drop the ball back back mcky likewise looks to drop the ball back to rebuild coming in from the outside good Hustle by Lily get the ball back run all the way back Roman wins the ball there and played out of bounds it'll be a putham throw in from I don't know even with the far light stanion on that side of the field referee goes to retrieve the ball puam reades themselves with just about 12 minutes left to get the ball back in putam possesses drops the ball back touch there you're doing a great job tonight Steve by the way I just want to let you know Jeff in case your
wife doesn't give you credit that you deserve my biggest fan of the podcast I'm here to do it for you thank you a little bit of a Christine if you have any problems please send all those complaints that's true to my email well this would be an opportunity I know we've got some time left but this would be an opportunity for me to say I have how much I have appreciated the opportunity that elcat has provided to be here in the booth this year Jeff I have enjoyed these games I feel like I've learned a lot from being up here with you so they put on a great production it's been been so happy happy to do it and uh it's been a very good uh Good Year tune in to Lacrosse and see how
much I butcher that this year I'll be sure to be I'll be sure TOA what I'm talking about but you know what I'll try I'll be sure to tune in told Katie tonight the only time I'll disagree with the ref is when she gets mad at him that'll be it she's right 90% oh 100% almost lied on that one 90% 100% of the time some substitutions coming on for both squads here just under 11 minutes remaining Addie Jordan Emma Susa went in and M whitler and Sabina mne coming off putam throw in uh one by Addie Jordan drops it back to Anna Roman who will then play it all the way back to Angelina Leone andet plays the far ball out to Anna Martin who looks to play it back but actually turns nicely up
field we will await a putam throw from about the 40 yard line of the football field uh by that demarcation on the far side of the field controlled there by East Long Meadow Susa comes to the middle of the field looks to get the ball through to Kylie Marino momentarily dispossessed by or intercepted I guess by putam but then played through Roman plays back to Leone there who plays outside to Parsons Parsons faces up looks to Susa game has been reduced to a standstill really at this point it's going in like slow motion this is sometimes I wish the action would slow down and make it a little easier for me but this is a little this is a little too slow even for me will be done with the ball there don't stop now
no so ball goes through to Kylie Marino looks to play the ball back to Eve Butler terrific season for the girls this year uh really getting things back on track uh sharing the comes division championship with Westfield first time in a number of years that the girls have had a divisional championship like that and again comes division shows itself to be really one of the better divisions uh really one of the better divisions for girls soccer in the state so well done and kudos to them there fine job for first year coach Tim Gary um finding those combinations and putting things together so all in all a good job we'll be looking very forward to taking this show on the road on Thursday um to give the hangam harboran all that they can handle and
more um and I have very good feelings about that game ball gets played all the way back to Angelina Leon Angelina getting a Seasons worth of work on passes back in in the last 10 minutes she touched the ball more in the last 10 minutes than juj and Emerson did the entire game yes and Marino takes the look to survey the territory and see what's what the ball will go back in the continued possession soccer being played here and the ball goes through momentarily briefly Jordan's got it as we approach the seven minute Mark remaining in the game Leon could possess if she'd like and she does momentarily given to Roman and Jordan looking forward to Dunn who plays it to Susa has an opportunity to hold it Midfield back to Roman Jordan to the
outside continued possession here by East Long Meadow keep doing those nice triangle passes Steve yep and again those will be the things that'll behoove us to to play well on on Thursday I like to keep onun that she just kind of sh her shoulders yeah she just yeah she's not coming in out yeah and I'm gonna give I'm gonna give I'm gonna give Kylie a lot of credit there that's got to be as a ninth grader yeah that's got to be a hard you know that's got to be hard but understanding the understanding the score and the situation again Kylie has continued to show continues to show the high soccer IQ that she showed all season and obviously that's a place where you just pull it back now as a person that scored one Care
One career goal in his entire High School varsity soccer career I would have had a hard time pulling that ball back but and you would have listened to your coach and that's only one way of a thousand that Kylie Marino is a better soccer player than I ever was so kudos to her there again and all of her opportunities she tried to give her sister in the first half we did try to see that get set up we wanted it we wanted it Kylie tried that Marino to Marino connection yeah five and a half remaining here at East Long Meadow for the home finale goes back to Parsons who looks to then play all the way back to Leone you know I'm goingon to say nobody's gotten buy Lucy this half I think that's a
really good position for her for next year you can be the one to sell that tour we'll have to see how that goes well she's a forward she loves forwards love playing defense correct as all forwards do yeah all forwards have that mentality of I don't want to score I like to defend yes inside of the final five minutes uh the officials will keep that time on the field we'll do our best to estimate that time for you but again that's something in which the referees are in charge of in soccer obviously unlike other sports where the clock runs and dictates throughout the officials keep the time here ball deflected looks like putam is going to get a corner kick this their first corner of the game yes it is to the whole Parson Family
I'm just joking around when I say that obviously watch I watch Lucy over the summer scoring goals making a a contributing solid minutes here at the varsity level this year she's GNA be a fun player to watch the next few years now if you're putam you have to send everyone forward here right you got to send all your flares forward look for the go I don't think the goalie wants to run down back good everyone but we'll send 10 players forward so 10 players forward putam Ready's for the corner kick and the ball is played up and over looks like it'll be another Corner well that's part for the course this season you never get just one corner it's at least two or three before we can clear the box and head back out now
if I'm this girl I try to curve it in you're G to just try to bend one right in I think that's their best opportunity is her trying to curve it in she's a good player and from the angle looks like she's going to try to hook it in could do it she got the hook on it see saved by Leone on the front post good idea any other time loose Breakaway that's tough for freshman first VAR City game you got to pull back but they do they know part of the plan they know what's what exactly right you want to be on the other end of it right ball comes all the way back only plays out to Roman who plays outside wide to Martin approximately two minutes remaining here two minutes Susa tracks
to the middle if you get a chance think it's like a third time I've talk about her cleats look at the bottom of her cleats when she runs they're all shiny and silver I like them okay we'll have to see if we good glimpse of those I'm sure when I get home my daughter will be talking about them yes balls on the far side putam gives pressure there dispossesses the Spartans and tries for a oops final run perhaps that'll be a direct kick on a tripping foul going in this will be a shot on that I would imagine about a minute and a half remaining I wouldn't be surprised if the officials roll it up even shorter than that ball goes in nicely headed out Jordan plays the ball out to Butler plays it long
to beak and the backs for putam we'll turn the ball outside and the waning moments here at the stadium field at East lto High School looks like the the Spartans will hold on to the lead to play to face hangam on Thursday time yet to be determined well Jeff it's been a pleasure uh for the final time this season we leave you from eastl high school eastl with 10 nothing victory over putam go Spartans good luck in the rest of the tournament
