001and we are ready for the first round of the State Tournament game the East Long Meadow versus methan coming all the way from the eastern part of the state I'm Jeff morno with my co-host Josh Weiss with a Jamie Rook Don maky elcat production Mark macarini is the announcer Josh what do you look forward to today and what do you think about tonight's game well well again you know clearly um the in in the western Mass finals getting off to a quick start enables eong meta to control control the game in their you know in the way that they want to play I did have an opportunity to watch half of one of mean's games which is not a big sample size but notice they do like to slow it down on offense they don't
002play as fast as we do uh and so we'll see how that goes I think obviously the tempo is going to be dictated by you know who gets out front early and things along those lines yeah that's great well I mean it's going to be we got a absolutely gorgeous night here I mean it's you know I'd say almost no clouds in the sky the blue skies out it's 5:00 pm the sun is shining we got fans coming from all across western Mass to watch this one and we've got thousands if not tens of thousands of fans online watching this game now live it looks like uh starting out on the draw control is going to be oh Kenna Mareno Kenna Marino on thew control there we'll see a little bit of a surprise I
003do have a little bit of inside information on why you're seeing Kenna Marino on the draw but on the circle also consistently Alli Thompson and Addie Jordan on the circle we are about to get started okay 12 minutes each quarter and Kenna Marino to start the draw Megan morno will be on attack Addie Jordan and Ali Thompson it goes up Fall start by Kenna Marino mean's going to start out with the ball and they Bobble their first pass maybe a little nerves could be absolutely into the offensive end and that is what you normally see from Ali Thompson picked up by Weiss up to uh Meg morno who's streaking down the field let's see where we go she's taking your time for sure eastl meow's first offensive possession a cause turnover by Ali Thompson Megan
004monno taking it behind cage gets it there to Anna macarini who's setting things up she gets it over to Megan morno Megan morno in the corner over here to Kenna Marino up top to Ali Lefty Thompson turns it in her right hand and sends it over to M witor they are swinging it around there a little bit of a Weeble wobble yeah to Angelina trulio with coming behind the goal eam medal really taking their time here which is kind of good to see monno has it gets it over to Thompson y normally you're right though Josh the and there it is and great save there and this one's taken out another drop there by number 17 for uh methan oh methan on the attack here they got it they they've got they've got numbers they've
005got numbers yep and like put in by number nine there yeah they got numbers they're they're going to attack they're going to attack quick there right the beginning Brook Carter on the low low liner into the corner so going to have to watch that obviously yeah uh nicely done there in the in the center of the field to break that wide open yeah I mean a quick they really just had a a really quick transition there you see Moses kind of yelling at the defense there you can't really let that happen it was really a one on to three yeah at that point and nobody kind of you really needed to attack her up by the 12 and even if it ends up in a foul at least it's going to slow the play down
006and give defense a chance to get back but methan strikes first yeah well nothing so it's on that's for sure let's see how we do here with Kenna on the draw Kenna Marino on the draw control looks like the smun girl certainly getting down nice and low right there this goes up in the air nice play by Alli Thompson there to reach up and grab it up to Addy Jordan who cuts through the middle of the field coming with a head of steam he's got morno on the right pulls it back smart decision there didn't really have that open shot as good there's an open one though into Anna ma didn't have it either so held it out back out to Meg morno looking for an opening there over to trulio back out to monno
007monno looking in swings at TH just it's they're just jammed up there a little bit in the middle it looked like mono was really oh missed by trulio there on a little pass and we'll see if Ken Mareno knocks it and it's knocked out of bounds and mean's ball so yep it's just like they jammed up the center there it looked like Moro was looking for a DOD and the center was kind of jammed up and then trulio just missed that one it was inner stick and it kind of came out and yeah just caused that turnover and they're setting up this this is what they're going to do for sure right here you got to attack the goalie at some point right and goalie throwing it out of bounds yeah looks like Mi C
008is getting ready to check in yeah I think MOS is gonna have a little chat with truly yeah just a little early early nerves yeah absolutely early nerves for sure into a space foul you know kind of an interesting shooting space was Clyo buto didn't look like she went up for the shot it like she turned to pass so proba a little bit of a quick whistle there I think you know coach might be a little bit upset by that but Marino very fast should be able to get in there with an opportunity hopefully she puts this one on the goal and she does in a really good spot right there she kind of faked left went down right one1 yeah you could see the goalie you know Flinch left and then was sort of
009you know that when you're in that close just not enough time to react so yeah it's a good counter there for for for E long meta to come right back into it and uh push back here absolutely 8 minutes and 58 seconds remaining in the first quarter one one gonna get back onto the draw Circle and Kenna Marino taking off the winter gloves yeah can't imagine her swipe her no swiping gloves she does she does sweat a lot and her hands get sweaty and that's the that's why she wears those gloves but I think it's just absolutely too much today it's just absolutely a little bit too hot okay but Marino on the draw again yeah and same setup for East Long Meadow by the way that was a really nice play by Alli Thompson
010on that possession the last one to get up high for that uh for that jump and nicely done but cut off by H number three for methan um tries to get her from behind Weiss Weiss knocks the ball free there's a little scrum in the middle big scrum in the middle and come methan comes out with it tries to spin Hannah ta with a nice play there to dissuade her from going around the front uh looks like is going to be playing a little bit further out than they normally do they usually you know pack it in a little more at least right now it seems like that's what they're doing so another cut through um and again you know beat beat her her player one to one there one onone so yeah I mean
011she's that girls that number number three I think it is right she's or number nine is that was number nine yeah very fast Brook Carter that's the one who scored before yeah very fast clearly going to be the player right here we'll see if Jenna can do something looks like her legs are spread nice and wide I where I would have went she does she bounces it in goes to bounc her into the top right hand corner 21 Methuen so we got a game and uh I think yeah it looks like there's going to need to be because twice now uh Carter's been able to get a rounder man and uh and get to the get to the net and get you know a solid chance there so all right well with 757 left it
012is two to one methan so we'll see how this continues yeah good start Good Start good start start for methan it looks like the goal I mean the goalie running that's great let the goalie run all the way up to shake hands on an 85 degree day on a goal I mean I'd love I do like to I do like to see the goalie running the field which is nice yeah so we've got morno again or um Ken Marino on the draw we've got morno on the circle with Ali Thompson now who's taking the place of Jordan um morau goes for it gets knocked over no call there uh Mareno little too far out with her with her uh hands tried to get the ball knock it out of there but a long pass Jill
013Steven steps in front and is still trying to get it keeps it in bounds tries to scoop it and it looks like it's going to be a SL meow ball U and girl doesn't look too happy about that but I think that was the right call here so let's see so Jill Stevens is going to get it and pass it in see she's not GNA pass it in hopefully she's gonna run it in and get it right get it over to the goalie yeah to Holly behind the net she does Holly fires it up to Addie Jordan who mishandles it a bit but then makes a nice recovery and she's Off to the Races we'll see how we go here she's got players on her left and right here yeah not going to need it
014she's just going to take it she looks like she's going full head full steam was knocked way there by nicely by number six from methan um Elizabeth toino and Jordan picks it back up into Ellie Thompson steps in decides better and pulls back she's got number three on her uh her Fitzpatrick for methan so East LM looking to work it around to do they got witw it's a nice move there fire is it nice stop by this I I oh nice play there by Addy Jordan to just knock it right not even pick it up and just bat it right into the net smart play smart play by Addie Jordan for sure great I will say this I saw I was watching in the warm-up I was watching the methu and goalie and I was
015very impressed with the methu and goalie in the warm-up I I think the goalie is really good for methan it seems like so far she's made a couple of really good saves on some nice shots and even you know the goals that have gone in have been you know the last one's a fluk and the first one just a great shot but if there's if you're not taking a good shot it looks like the methan goal he kind of all over it yeah so we'll see here we got uh Ken Marino back on the draw morno and Thompson on the circle and uh up over monno and number number three for Methuen yeah they Fitzpatrick y yeah they need to make sure they stay on number a good play there by Weiss to knock it
016down picked it up by Thompson up to morau he's got witw streaking with her good oh a little high there see I don't know witor's got to get that and nice play by Anna macarini dumps it in she's got calib wide open side calab goes nice great ball movement there great ball movement to wh I mean it was a little bit high but that's one wht's got to have and then Jordan picks it up sends it back gets it over to somebody got it over to a wide open trulio yeah it was uh yeah so it it wasini over to Megan morau and then Megan over to uh calab y yeah and calab has outstanding stick skills she's got great fakes when she gets to the goal and that's what she did there and then
017snuck that one by yeah so we've got Spartans get their first lead of the game at 32 with five minutes and 56 seconds remaining in the first quarter I do want to go back for one second to the defensive end there I think they had a couple of good plays Weiss knocked the ball free which started that out which was you know what they need to be doing so um much better um number six again for uh the shano uh picks it up morno picks it up knocks it away yeah we'll see if she can get p number she's just taking her time yep good good pass into M witw across to Alli Thompson fir in beautiful starting to heat up here for the sparts yeah it's just a fast break offense it's kind of
018what you started to talk about at the beginning of the game and I did want to go back to that which is how fast East Long Meadow can play if they get out in transition they they really are good they trust each other they make great passes they're all unselfish players so they pass the open person and kabami right into the back of the goal nothing the goalie could do there Thompson with a really fast sidearm shot left-handed outstanding just you know and and they all knew exactly kind of they they were working in you know synchronicity in a way that was beautiful just perfect you know so got to keep doing that let's you know we'll see if methan can counter uh so jump ball uh Ken Mareno take knocks it away into M
019whitward nice pass by Moreno uh ma tried to get it to calab but it got sort of Knocked away kicks it back out to monno into witor wht's surveying looking for a oh I wish Jordan had stayed up top right there Wht was probably going to have something nice around the goal but now it looks like Jordan will if whitward can get out of the way yeah this is what going get is what you want here and nice help there from methan yeah oh not a good pass bad pass right there way outside of the range of witw and that's the kind of thing hoping that they're going to notice that if if Addy Jordan does something like that again you get that double team someone's going to be able to slide in behind yeah
020you would think just kind of somebody cutting through the middle as she kind of backs it out right so number 13 for bethu oh looked like she lost it but they're going to give her that that was Ali bulldock who had it lost it and uh looked like a I don't know anyways so they called it on East Long Meadow and calib another drop there from methan getting a little sloppy Orno Scoops it over to whitward whitward gets knocked around and not getting much help at all from the refs on that one backwards and tries to get rid of it but uh oh and battling yeah she's really just having a tough time with her stick she's dropped a couple dropped a couple yeah just that we talked about it just she gets in these
021oh almost good idea there by Jill Stevens but and so number nine speed good play there by and I mean I don't know what Howard's doing she this the second time she's pounded her to the ground you're going oh calling a charge wow very shocking call right there that looked like that's going to be a gift looked like Howard put a stick right into her rib good pass there to Sabina mne Sabina makes a little move L is the ball Cal is going to get it and we're going to maintain possession but again there you got to slow it down um she was one on two or three she's one on two and now this is to Mareno Mareno fires nice kick save by the goalie very nicely done um it you know it looks
022like we're going to have to get in a little closer oh goodness that was in the corner you know it does look like when the goalie's got Clear Vision she's really solid you're going to have to start doing some picks and some confusion in front right to free things up I mean Ian it was a wide open shot right there just when they're covered we want them to back it out but wide open shot like that Thompson just another one it looks like the ball's really coming out of Thompson stick quick today yeah it is it is a lot of extra speed and a little extra power I think for some reason she must have had her weedies this morning so ma ww's coming out for a breather and I think a little chat and
023uh Ang Angelina trulio is going back in yeah we'll have uh listen we know how good Mack is and so it's just to settle in and take a bre it's a good bre good breather I think get her some water let her settle down this one's up in the air pretty high play by morno there jumps up and gets it she's getting chased from behind by number three and little shove in the back there didn't call it not enough to to call it but there was defin A little nudge no penalty there so they set it back up y Thompson's got the ball sends it to morno monno taking your time oh good pass in nice fake there by mck switches hands she switches the hands very nice by sa who mne goes stick side
024Lefty on a roll Dodge very nice shot right there by mne parents are going to be grandparents are going to love that one that's going up right we're going to see we're GNA see that one on video that's right that's the ESP on Old roll Dodge from inside the crease puts it in the left hand and jams it in Stick side I think that's a a Jeff move if I can recall even though he's never played lacrosse in his life I think they've seen I think Sabina saw that one on TV she made up for that turnover from almost turnover from before that's for sure so we've got 251 left it's 62 Spartans so a little distance here now we'll see how we'll see how we go uh looks like a false start on methu
025in there so morno I hate to say it but I'm gonna tell you monno wants a goal yeah look like she's gonna fire this one oh and what did it go in no it did go in hit the post and went in oh beautiful I kind of I did say monno wanted a goal when she was about at the third I just get this feeling this is like a father something just call it intuition I can kind of tell like when she's running a certain way that she's GNA let it and it's not getting passed like under almost any circumstance and that was going to be one of those so yeah all right well Hey listen I'm glad you called it that way I'm glad the result was what it was me too so 72
026here with 239 left so Spartans are beginning to assert Hur themselves a little more here they're playing their game their speed I think early on they were uh maybe a little taken aback that that methan had started quickly right yeah you know a little nerves yeah so Kenna Mareno on the draw again we'll see how we're doing she's so far has done quite like early on was struggling a little now she's much much more comfortable she's won the last three or four in a row up to morno who's swinging around oh nice pass in great catch by Addy Jordan and whistles it by the feet beautiful I mean that was a terrific catch as as much as anything right catch yep great catch good pass and again a little little roll Dodge and boom and
027then it goes low low to the ground and in great shot and you do wonder whether B might you know think about taking a timeout here because things are getting a little you know something to just speak to I don't know I mean I'm a big fan of timeouts when when you're in this kind of mode where you started out you were neck and neck and then things are starting to pull a little I think you like timeouts cuz probably as a child you spent a lot of time in timeout that would be my guess that's probably true I mean but I can also and it's a very peaceful time it's quiet do a lot of reflection think about things I was that kind of kid I mean it is not that hard to say
028what's better than just facing the wall all by yourself nice play there by Jordan got slapped a little bit in the face blows past number 12 oh shooting space right yeah kind of an interesting really pull back though she didn't she did she did it looked like she pulled back with her left you don't usually see Addie Jordan going to that left hand coming in from the from that side but she did and this is usually automatic because she's so fast and it is and there you have it you know and again she's right on the doorstep their defense didn't get there nearly as fast as they needed to yeah and so that was you know that's not easy but she made it look easy let's put it that way yeah she's just got such
029a such a quick first step and has so so much variet on her eight meter shooting yeah that it's really unpredictable except you can predict that it's going to go in well right and if you watch if you watch some of their games right you're not going to be able to pick up too much on what her tendency is because as you say she's got three four five different things that she does on a regular basis so Marino again on the on the draw here we'll see we got Jordan and Thompson on the circle it goes flying up again know very smartly can sees immediately where it's going swings around gets it up to morno into Addie Jordan whistles it in the top corner I mean they're just right now it is just you know
030Bing Bang Boom really I mean impressive so one two three yeah and we have a special guest today in the booth Josh good friend of mine Mark dorsy welcome Mark great friend of mine one of the best go one of the best golfers around Mark is Mark you're joining in yeah and thank you for the kind words je you it's always a pleasure to be with you you're a good friend and uh you're a good man yeah it's great to have a legend in the booth I mean you do so much for the community so much for Youth Sports you do a lot as I know with for at Pope Francis why don't you tell the uh listeners you know a little bit about your background and what you're what you like about sports and
031and Youth Sports in particular well it all started with my brother Kevin who got me involved with wtm hockey and uh if you're in the listening area East Long meow you or your kids or somebody in your family played for wtm hockey it was a great uh a great time to be part of that and to be part of so many families along the way and uh on the happy Road of course my my good friend Brian Foley uh asked me to donate my time for the uh Pope Francis JV team and uh Brian knows the uh passion I have for the game for hockey and uh you know it's a pleasure to work with somebody like Brian Foley it's a pleasure and uh back to you to the play-by-play guys yeah Mark thanks no
032problem thanks for uh it's good to have you mark thanks for thanks for joining stay up here and watch we got a great view from up here on a beautiful night looks like you know they're doing a little one-on-one here number three has it she's clearly a great dodger but great play there by Holly really nice really good and that was the low on low that we talked about in the last game right it was yeah that's it you go you go low low and uh you know it's kind of a goal I'm not gonna say it's a goalie's dream but yeah when you go low low it just makes it it just makes it so much easier for for the for the for the goalie so Jordan fumbled that pass a little bit from
033Thompson but she's speeding down and they're gonna is kind of another interesting shooting space yeah Jordan she put in her left hand the she she the girl was just kind of standing in the middle of the eight meter box okay and the fact that Jordan put her left hand and kind of popped it up I think that one was shooting space the girl really needed to go and kind of cover mne she got that yeah that one there there was a little bit of a a quick I'm going to wow moonball coming in and uh gets away back to number 17 for methu and um MJ petties I was goingon to say on that last eight meter this is what they got to stop they gota just that was a nice move by that's it
034was a very nice move by and then that's the end of the quarter so and that's what you got to do as you were saying is either take the penalty slow it down so people can regroup absolutely especially if it's not inside the 8 meter yeah so we are going to take a two-minute break here for the we'll be back for the second quarter 10 to two Spartans e e e and we are back for the second quarter Kenna Marino on the draw Ali Thompson Addie Jordan on the circle so far I'm not going to say it's been a dominant draw control but we have I think for the most part been winning them it's probably a seven to you know call it 7030 there's been I don't know 12 13 14 draw controls it's
035probably 95 right so far I would say early on it was more balanced oh great pass there and great wow great kick save by the goalie yeah good try there by Anna macarini I heard somewhere out of my left ear here something like an OG's because that was really going to be an open shot there for macarini oh and that's uh Saina mne got tripped down or at least went down and they're GNA give her that she humble she's humble she tumbles and she does fall down Sabina mne down she goes going to get herself free position from a very difficult angle really right here really right here you're looking for a pass to Wht if Wht can jump in there or Marino I guess not swing in go right yeah diminutive and you just
036slice your way through there Hammer Gonzalez Ducks down low and low low low and off we go very nicely done by sa mne she might she's she's she's on course for player of the game right now could be couple of really And Timely goals important you know that that nudg them forward so uh 112 Spartans 1101 left in the second quarter I mean yep very nicely done that as you say the angle there was challenging at best and you thought maybe she'd dish it across but she was able to just Slither on in so nicely done sliced and diced she ducked and then snuck one past to methu and goalie pushes forward oh just out of the reach of Jordan number six has it and they just Hound her this one fired it up bad
037pass there nice play by Grace Howard to keep it scoop it oh the pickup is always an added challenge nice play by Ken Marena there oh and they're gonna call wow interesting that's all right what kind of a tough call but that's you know you never know girls across you can't really tell the rules anyway just kind of make it fake it and make it oh nice play by Alli Thompson there knocks the not only the B away there's absolutely there's definitely nobody better in the state on back checking than than Jenna Hol with a with a half court or half field pass nice play by m wiar oh wow I don't know what that call is all she kind of did she just put her stick out and blocked her I mean normally you'd
038see Moses mes Moses is complaining I think she's got I think she's got a legit complain there nice play by whitward to knock that free uh mne's on number 21 great stick Mo there fires it up oh nice nice attempt to knock it away certainly got in the in the way of that by Grace Howard Grace Howard fires it way up and over so again you gotta slow that all down like you're we're getting into a bit of a frenetic Pace that's not necessary especially on the it was the right it was the I mean it was wh was open it was the right play she just made a bad pass I mean it was it was the right it's the right play so you got to have but that that sequence felt pretty frenetic
039like it was all over the place you know just take take a take a breath all right nice play there again by Thompson Weiss battling gets knocked down and Spartans are going to keep that ball so nice job there by Weiss to to battle away for that looking around I think she should just get that I like that play Holly just kind of Walk It Out got this one right here Jill Stevens has it Jill Stevens has it up to Weiss Weiss can use her speed now and just take it in and get it into the defensive Zone takes her time little check there that's good nice play there by Italia absolutely Weiss has it it's gonna take this forward gets it to mne McKenney Scoops it up and we have an offensive zone possession
040843 left in the second taking taking her time looks like Kenna Marino's gonna oh my God drop that one Ken Marino you got to put that ball in your stick girl can't miss that one that's just an unforced turnover here comes methu and drop the ball takes a funny bounce nice play by Jill Stevens to pick it up get it up to uh Kenna Marino Kenna looks down oh no Marino bad pass there but a great great play by whitler oh another bad pass she's covered that one's not cover good pass though and that's a shooting space that was a nice pass there's a lot of things going on right now it seems a little even a little quick for us yeah yeah can't keep up I mean we're threading the needle here on some
041of these doesn't just doesn't really need to happen yeah just take your time get the ball into the offens Jordan we in and that's going to be another another nail in the nail in the coffin there so beautiful uh eight meter there push in and and Josh you know what we have now right we get up by 10 goals what happens we're running clock running run the clock is running we have seven minutes and 33 seconds remaining in the second quarter and the clock is going to continue to run when you're up 10 goals so yeah you know we could be out of here at some point some point sooner than than if the clock wasn't running that there you go yes connect the dots for everybody it's been domination since methan scored their first
042two goals it's they gone you know not gonna it's basically 11 straight goals all right so nicely done there by U Moreno nice play there by Addie Jordan to use her body to keep between her and the defender she's got some numbers has wit were wide open that's a shoting space for sure yeah she's standing right in front of the goal crease and that was good patience there the whw looked like she was going to let it go saw at the last minute that she didn't have it and kind of pulled it yeah and a good good pass you know again we talked about it last game you had Jordan streaking down the middle she drew the defender on the drawn oh with a really nice shot the bounc the bouncer in the four foot
043out bouncer into the top corner so thuan did that early on maybe picked up a little and went with it so we are now at 13-2 Spartans with 623 and Counting so nicely done there and uh you know I would like to see the Spartans not don't don't take what I'm about to say in the wrong way not take your foot off the gas but like play a little smarter now you're up you don't have to be threading the needle on these passes in the way that you're doing like because it's it you know you can methodically work your way down and get the same result for sure so all right so draw goes to methan number six picks it up yeah we don't want to leave you don't want to leave three here she's
044just gonna try to take it herself for sure and three Spartans collapse down and she puts it in the bottom of the net anyways yeah I'm not there was a lot of crashing there Moses is not going to be happy about that I don't think Holly's going to be happy about that one either I mean just didn't look ready I mean it was a very difficult shot but Holly I don't think looked quite ready for that one and that one therefore got past her I don't think that's one I think that's one probably Holly wants back yeah and it was I mean there was not much room to squeak that one in there so nice shot there gotta give her credit was that number that was number three right yeah uh Kiera Fitzpatrick for if
045three and nine three and N are clearly their their best offensive players maybe their best players all around I don't know but yeah if they get it they're really looking to take on whoever's in front of them I mean they're very fast they're obviously great athletes and great lacrosse players clearly yeah yeah I'm sure they're multisport athletes and oh nice well oh so wow good play there by Fitzpatrick to on her on her the seat of her pants comes again yeah like Weiss and and Stevens collapse down on her push her out number eight was wide open in the middle and she missed her um so Spartans defense got to lock it down a little oh and they whistle in another one so three and nine Yep they're just going to keep fir they're just
046going to keep firing way with 4:34 it's 13 to4 which means the clock is now paused yeah and I think H you know I I that's that was a great shot I do think Holly needs to be aware whenever three or nine have the ball they're not passing I mean they are going to either pass to each other or they're going to shoot the ball um and so you're gonna see a little defensive change here Grace Rays coming in for uh let's see uh not quite sure who she's coming in for Angelina trulio came out Sabina mcki looks like she's gonna be oh it looks like they're actually putting six back on defense here oh that's interesting okay just to start which is actually interesting because if the mid if the midfielders now cross the
047line they're going to be off sides and it's going to be I I'd be surprised if if methan gets this ball I'd be surprised if we don't get an off sides looks like we'll see who's gonna get this oh nice play there by we're goingon to get it off sides for sure and that's so yellow card on whitward huh and so as we know when you get a yellow card you must go to the yellow chair that's it the famous yellow chair and this probably gives you flashbacks as to your timeouts when you were a child does my chair was actually green it was yeah oh so you know I mean I can relate but I can't quite relate that's interesting that's very interesting my parents were kind of environmentally friendly which is why I
048think it was oh did you have to face the corner or did were you able to like see around it I was able to look out at the trees that was the oh the one thing that they let me do oh that's a very nice pass there's a save by Holly beautiful yep great save really nice pass there by uh by Fitzpatrick spectacular save yeah so a lot of some pressure here from methan there CL clawing back here 356 yeah 134 and there's a little cut there by number nine tried to get in Weiss oh put up and nice play by Stevens the step in front there good long strides up to Addie Jordan and Jordan drops it see if she can stay with it she does and Jordan kicks it up to Sabina mne
049it's got three on two she's got wide open bad pass by mne anac tried to knock it in and looks like it's going to be methan ball so there was a real opportunity there and it was just kind of sloppily held unfortunately bad pass bad pass no doubt can't say much about it I mean macarini it was the right play yeah yeah I got to said right play she had her just needed to drive that pass into M into a into macarini stick and then you're good and she I think she kind of lobbed it and kind of yeah okay so methan drops it Ken Marino can't scoop it up so Marino having a tough time with that ball Weiss makes a nice play Oh looked like she just fell down on that I don't
050like that I don't like that call no that's so the referee say there was a push there by Weiss but uh really I think you missed that one sorry I Mr referee but uh sometimes we miss him and that was one nice play by Weiss to try to knock that away right off the bat Grace Howard's right up on number 13 she collapses back down we'll see if they can keep number six out and oh and looks like again another spin move and ball just came out but uh but look like they're going to have a is it 12 meter no it's eight yeah I mean it's kind of that I don't know about that one either but you know they're doing the best they can absolutely the refs are so Holly and so fires
051into the bottom from uh from Elizabeth to chano so 135 with 208 left and we now do not have a running clock nope the clock has stopped running yeah so um and and you know one of the certainly one of the differences here is that methan has been able to win a few of these last draws right so there was a stretch there the defense is the defense we saw it a little bit in the west side game the defense had a little bit of trouble and here we've had you know a couple of tough calls too that have led that have led to directly direct deposit into the goal yep yep so those are some of the issues for sure y see you got to see if you can uh change momentum here uh
052before half 20 uh 208 left as we said so Marino on the draw just going to see if she can get it to witor or uh or uh Grace Howard who gets flattened no call there interesting Moreno can't get it um Weiss picks it up and looking for someone to pass it to no switches hands up to Grace Howard I just don't like that pass at all not necessary no need go backwards turn around send it back to Holly there's people behind you you don't have to go forward on that one so we get another turnover Y and this is just just you know they're just going to continue to carry it and they just Bowl their way through y so uh good play there by oh Moreno lot of hacking going on Weiss picks
053it up gets hit in the head and they call that one 122 left in the half let's see if the Spartans can can get a good possession here take their time work it down the field whitw is wide open so wh back to Stevens Stevens up to whitward whitward makes the catch makes a turn up field she's got doesn't realize someone's coming from behind right now number nine no she does now and there's a that's a yellow card for sure you're going direct toos it to the yellow chair yes you are have a seat it's nothing like a little yellow to ruin your day yeah it's just a little break she just going to get a little extra time a little longer rest for the uh halftime looks like one minute remaining hard to see
054with the sun shining so there is one minute remain nicely on that board on the home of the Spartans board one minute remaining the like new board for the Spartans yeah the other thing that I haven't seen yet this quarter is morno has not been in the game at all in fact I don't even see her on the sidelines uh she's in the cart right there Marino I don't know she's just not having a great game right now she's just had a couple of turnovers not able to pick up the ground balls and and just some some some difficult passes for really no reason I mean she's a great player she's got great speed I mean she's doing great on the draw control but needs to be a little bit more more um let's just
055call it ball happy yeah long to number three this is she's going the whole way so so let's see if she's going the can step it up oh good play there by wise to stop her uh Fitzpatrick picks it back up whistles it in Holly not really a whistle a dribbler holly throws it up to Cali uh and that's going to go out of bounds it looks like yeah oh no she kept it in uh nine seconds left in the in the half so let's see if wa and just uh keep her from and she does so this is going to be the end of the half with the Spartans up 13 [Applause] to5 so uh mean's clown back a little here well we are gonna be back we are gonna come back in seven
056how long how many minutes eight minutes like in we'll be back in five or eight minutes we're not sure either way we'll be back e e e and we are back for the start of the third quarter 135 Spartans everyone got a little water down there at halftime Josh it's very very warm out it is some people having to come in and out of the game it's definitely the hottest Game of the Year in terms of weather conditions East LA Meadow currently up by eight they have been up by as much as I think 10 or 11 11 kind of along the way so as you were saying methan was making a little bit of a run there to kind of get themselves slowly back into it I'm sure they're going to try to capitalize
057on that momentum going into the third quarter and we'll see if can do that or if the Spartans can start to take off like they did in the fir you know first quarter you know it's been an interesting it kind of tale of a couple of different games here early on methan you know I think surprised East Long Meadow East Long Meadow came back put the pedal to the medal then toward the end of the half you know methan was chipping away so Megan morau is back in the game we'll see how that I mean without question her presence on the field makes a huge huge difference and I think you you see that the they play much more like a team when she's out on the field so she's out there and we'll see
058how she does uh looks like Addy Jordan on the draw with morno and Moreno on the on the circle and they're gonna toss that one up again yeah gonna get a redo the sticks didn't really go up ball didn't go up so referee is going to do is going to reset this but you know one of the advantages I think East meow has over some other teams for sure is that their ability to have multiple people on the draw and on the draw Circle so you're seeing now I think this is is the third draw Taker and that one goes that's the direct deposit here and I like to see this play by Marino right using her best literally her best asset is her speed yeah and just using that to get that into the
059offensive zone and then kind of just set things up it's going to be a little bit of a high stick check I don't think you're going to get a card here but you're going to get a little bit of a warning and say keep that stick down young lady or you will be in have a date on oh off sides oh okay yeah okay thanks for that I guess it's aides call we thought there might there might be the potential for a date with a yellow chair but oh Addie Jordan she had that there she I thought she could have put that one in her left hand and jamed that one home yeah monno setting up here gets it to Jordan Jordan has it Jordan has it got it to Thompson Thompson Thompson has it
060she kind of sends it back out gets it to monno morno really good right there immediately you see Megan's impact right like the cut her cut her beautifully perfect Pass High right to her stick in and out and that's so yeah big difference there for sure and it and it's and it's almost like you know in some respects too like it was just like you felt there was a comfort again right caling calming presence calming presence that's right just slow it down yeah and that's a nice goal for them because you know like I said M was chipping and and that's you know you want to come back and say uh uhuh hang on a minute that's right so 14 to five if we one more we'll get that clock moving this one looks like
061Jordan's calling this one out to Mono looks like the uh draw control is going to jump this one forward we'll see if monno can get this one in her stick it's going to be a little bit of a battle down low here I think nope oh Addy Jordan gets possession on that nicely turns the Jets on number three Fitzpatrick's got some speed as well though she's she's staying right with her yeah gets it to monno monno looking get hasanna Mack open misses it but Scoops it back up yeah stays with it nicely back to Thompson Thompson to to morno and and Jordan on the doorstep forget that one no chance beautiful pass again from Megan so you know and that's the seeing the field that's the you know those Distributors are incredibly valuable there's so
062many ways that you know yeah and I mean I I don't even know how many times they've called out Addie Jordan's name I mean she might actually have close to like nine goals I think so far and most of them quite frankly have been absolutely wide open I mean either 8 me either 8 meters or you know just kind of like wide open shots it's just been a field day for Jordan down there it's a little hard to imagine how she got that wide open there wasn't a Defender within you know 10 15 yards of her yeah def there was definitely a defensive breakdown there I mean who I don't understand how you aren't accounting for East Long Meadow's top goal scorer right at some point in time and we're running by the way we're
063running the clock is running Jordan again nicely done there oh just kind of yeah well she looked like she had it and then she and Ken Marino sort of came together and and uh oh knocked knocked away uh Jill Steven steps in we're playing popcorn here it goes round there it is and it's picked up bod's flying everywhere Allie Thompson Scoops it up smart we go spread senior presence right there right spread it out take your time just run it over there you go Kenna Marino just run it now you got monno now you got morno yeah she's wi oh you had her but this is fine too y sets up her Dodge sends it over an a Mac has it oh hit in the head that's a that's is it going be a yellow
064nope nope not quite the glasses I think have to come fully off in order for you to get a yellow card the Snapback head didn't quite count no no no those are heads are replaceable definitely let's see it Macar this might be Macar I'm not going there it is beautiful I'm not going to lie I don't think macarini has had very many 8 meters All Season that may have been only her second one and she looks like a pro comes in straight from the top and puts it home yeah beautiful I mean that was and and bottom right corner there perfectly plac yeah good spot little fake little fake stick side and then got that one down low on the other side so since the half in about three and a half minutes the Spartans
065have now pushed that lead back up to 11 from eight it's a nice a really nice counter from them to kind kind of push back at on a methan team who is absolutely gaining some ground yeah and I'll tell you what Jord Jordan's been doing you know she's kind of shares the draw control time a little bit with Marino Moro takes most of them but I'm telling you right now Jordan's just having a game today I mean she is she's had she's doing outstanding on the on the draw I mean she's had the East medo's had the advantage on each and every one of them nice by Ken Mareno pushed in the back there and and again I don't know if Marino was trying to pass that one but I just love her using I
066love her using her speed to yeah kind of get that thing over the line right Thompson surveys over to whitward back to Thompson great pass and that's shooting space but uh too bad because that was a great give and go there between the two of them so Thompson's gonna have an eight meter see what she can do here this is a real this is actually a really good hash for a lefty to be on Stick is going to be in the middle see if she can use her speed she got off she did get a good jump there though she really did and she was able to get to get back to the back line there keep possession for the Spartans makes a nice little move scoots around the end Taps it to macarini and
067in on the door step nice pass there really well done by S M I mean they had to respect her speed they've seen her speed you know throughout the game and they saw it down on the other end where she scored so you get two you somebody slid over really love the fact that m techne then backed up a little bit then got it to macarini who was wide open I mean that was the value of patience that you're often talking about right that that she didn't get flustered she saw that there were two or three girls on her and then saw annax standing on the doorstep yeah instead of trying to plow through you just back it out make a good pass and yeah so 175 Spartans 645 left in the third we've got
068of course our clock continuing to run Addy Jordan on the draw goes up Jordan chases it down up to Megan morau and they're off that's gonna go to oh I don't like that pass great play by whitward great catch great pass into Sabina mne and down in the corner beautiful shot from Sabina way to finish it off there sabina's having a really nice game as you said yeah she really is she really is she's having a game she's having a game she's having a game [Music] M really just using her speed yeah Megan morno coming out and clearly did her job and is clearly gonna sit back down in the cart and get a drink so uh yeah know amazing amazing uh Talent from that kid for sure she contributes in so many different ways
069it's it's really really impressive I will say this the defense is having a great second half because the ball really hasn't even been down there yet and we got we've already on yeah I really like Jordan I mean she's just having a great she is she's doing just great on the draw control right now she really is feeling it I think that's the intimidation Factor really on the defense there it is pass to calib little high yeah you know it was a really good pass Jordan again she's really doing a great job over the last I'd say three four games of drawing the defense to her and then passing it and there that was a really good play but kind of waited for the pass if she was moving a little bit towards the goal
070on the way she would have been able to get a little bit of a better angle she's writhing in pain yeah she really is the card is the card is going out we're gonna take a little bit break here Diane is being called into duty the methu and goalie I didn't see that I think it might have gone off her wrist maybe yeah because it looks like she's I don't know that's what that's what because it looked like it hit off her arm there we'll see yeah hopefully it's nothing major and she's going to be able to get back into the game like I said she's a great goalie yeah um you know you've seen her make some really good saves here throughout the game then most of the ones that she hasn't saved you
071could have put a you could have put a college he could have put a you know a college goalie in there and they're just not saving him because the shots have been so wide open for East Long Meadow right that they were essentially unsavable so I would say very little on her in this game for 100% I mean she's just she's a great goalie and a great player and just took one in the wrong spot she definitely looks like she's very uncomfortable which is not a great sign of course we wish her well so yeah so we're going to take a quick break while they tend to the goalie from methan be back shortly thank you e e e all right back in Action it looks like the goalie after sustaining what looked like a
072wrist injury of some point at in some ways is staying in the game which is a good sign yeah she looked like she was in a lot of pain so she's really gotten it out I don't know I don't they certainly don't look like they have a backup goalie I'm sure somebody in there could but great pass by Thompson great save by again the goalie right there I mean great save yeah beautiful back out to marino marino to Witwer wit surveying the land does a little Dodge takes it back out and open is macarini oh fires it in Nice Nice Shot by macarini there really nicely done uh so with 43 5 left in the clock running it's 19 to5 Spartans and I would just like to recognize Anna macarini with her 100th goal congratulations
073Anna macarini here you go Anna give that girl a ball the fans are almost on their feet but a standing ovation for Anna macarini for her 100th goal congratulations Anna Anna macaroon in true fashion hasn't changed a facial expression in one way whatsoever but she's gonna wave up here to the fans for sure congrats to Anna I mean that's really quite it's really quite an accomplishment look at this battle for the ball and and we got Jill Stevens in there you know I gotta give Jill Stevens a lot of credit right there I mean she really bodied up and that's just she just doesn't get to be on the circle that often but yeah clearly that looks like it's something that Moses is thinking about for next year is I think so uh looks like
074we might have a little off sides here we got a gazillion East meow players in the back at least it looks that way they're just seeing ghost because it's 19 to5 that's the only problem just like no maybe not oh that's wide open not any longer and Weiss cuts that off nicely pushes her aside 35 pick your stick up spin there spin in spin out and uh they're calling it behind is it go is he going back behind the crease I think yeah I don't know it's I really think what you got to do there on that spin move is just stand there and then when she spins into you you got to flop down Do the Flop Do the Flop down like they do in basketball and then it's going to be a charge
075because you really can't back into people I do like kind of the spin move or the roll Dodge some people call it but this isn't even really a roll Dodge it's more like a spin so she ended up with an eight meter there yeah and I don't really understand why she's getting that hash right from where she was and I think that's coach Moses is also asking that question I think it doesn't really make much sense she just fires it in the top Corner that was number eight K that's a good shot there high and into the corner a really nice shot good ball placement I don't know Holly looks a little bit upset that that one went in I think so I think she's you know she I think Prides herself on on those
076like the one-on-one and especially firing it from back there I mean it was a really good shot though it's you know kind of a tough one to say by the way look her she's down there she's practicing that move yeah she's got it she's not she's clearly not happy with herself for that one I thought it was actually a pretty good shot but it was Holly she's disappointing herself constantly demanding more and more of herself which is great to see we do have a little bit of an update in the state tournament that if East long row does go on to win today they would play Melrose who is the 11 seed who won their game uh 10 to five well that's good to good to hear good to hear so Jordan into witwe we're
077looking has calab open oh no that's Saina mck Saina on the doorstep does the old backhanded oh that's gonna be methan ball be methan ball looked like a good idea but you know just missed wide tried like a tried like a Twizzler type shot right there but she's been having oh and whitward just picks it up and knocks it away in a great play and two methan players T Weeble wobble and they do fall down I mean that one is not uh going to be that's going to some there was some head hitting there the wrist again I'm a little concerned about the goalie when you fall down you got to put your hand out to kind of save your you know save yourself from falling and you kind of fall on that wrist but
078it looks like she's okay which is great great job there great job there I mean I call it the four check or whatever you want to call it but absolutely whatever it was it was a a really good play there by witw so it's 20 to six Spartans 41 seconds left in the third running clock so we got a a whole another quarter here and the Spartans you know have definitely been able to do a lot of what they wanted to do today yeah it looks like Moses has really you know taken out a couple of players has taken out monno has taken out Taft has taken out Thompson taken out witler yeah so you know getting getting getting some other uh you know some girls in there and getting them some playoff experience absolutely
079whether it's for this year whether it's for next year it's just great to see they get that playoff environment got a build for the future in addition to win now right so oh Jordan tries to pick it up there's one second left in the quarter and that's the end so yeah theu and thed by the clock so we'll be back in two minutes 20 to6 Spartans e e e Jordan on the draw another draw Win really having great success over there not a good pass there to k a good pass and Marina know didn't really pick it up and that is Jillian Stevens got through her stick but she's doing a good here on the ride chasing it down really good defense right here kind of moves her like Weiss is gonna pick her up
080from there eight for uh they got the hidden ball trick oh what do we oh whoa okay well wow so trying to figure out who's got it the hidden ball trick did not work you might want to probably wanted to do that a little earlier in the game no Weiss up to Grace Howard Grace Howard up to uh Angelina trulio plays it on the bounce and looks like the Spartans have a I have a feeling trul Leo's gonna take this one herself she's got in a ma oh had her wide open went for the pass into Anna calabri looks like shooting space I don't really know that's not really shooting space because she didn't she didn't turn for a shot she was really running through I agree I I think the the ref seem kind
081of feel like if you're in there without I'm not great on the rules myself but honestly so I'm just saying that's why I say it didn't seem like it but it certainly could have been yeah oh oh Cali with a really nice whistle side welcome to East Long Meadow Manana calib with an absolute sidearm rifle into the top right really she snapped that one off like no tomorrow yeah really beautiful no CH to a lot of skills that kid she sure does very nicely done I mean she her stick skills are actually amazing she's got great fakes the the balls always moving she's faking all the time great stick skills Y and and incredible power on her shots as we've just witnessed I think we said it last game yeah at Westside how powerful her
082shot is I mean it's just it's really good you just once in a while she just runs herself into traffic but other than that I mean honestly there's the I don't even know what you could po Jordan again on I mean she is just self-drawing like it's no tomorrow wow and then gets yeah she's not gonna be happy about that no and she's that's a nice play there by by Brook Carter absolutely good play there by Mareno but they're going to call that I think on Angelina truly over slow her down get our defense back set it up she's now covered by three girls 925 left 21 six Spartans so looks like uh is that Carter or number eight make move Carter looking for a teammate gets it up to her teammate over to number
083two pick it pick it here we go and this is what I like here Marino just keep taking it Marino don't even bother passing it just get it over the 30 you're so fast she's got hand what I like right there or into trulio into Anna ma for another goal for Anna macarini beautiful top corner there so really good passing really good passing I mean you're you're just seeing why East Long Meadow's offense is so potent absolutely I mean I how many different let's try to go through and see how many different goal scorers we've had in this game right so you have Anna Ma you have cell Bree you have Megan you have Addie Jordan you have Kenna Moreno you have Angelina trulio scored ma whitward ma whitward Ali Thompson Ali Thompson Sabina mck
084H that's nine that's a lot of different goal scores at least at least nine so we got uh so Grace Howard and Ken Mareno are on the circle and it looks like Jill Stevens is GNA take the draw here this is good to see I like to see this little action for Jill Stevens yeah pushes it forward and look at this she's she stay with oh she wanted and she she gets credit there for a draw could oh good God that was a little bit low there it is fire it oh that's it see that's shooting space there we go high five it is I feel like I could be a I am a referee from I'm up here you can be anything yeah you can be a referee you can be a coach you
085can be team owner you can be trainer you can be a therapist too because when you get in the yellow chair I mean all bets are off for sure I mean we just can do anything up here Josh that's the best part and nobody the only people that can stop us Jamie Jamie she can unplug us at any time but the problem is that Jamie somehow finds US amusing so that's just not going to happen she's not going to I mean she's got to cover all these other boring sports like softball and baseball they don't have this they don't have this totally this goes by so fast for her even when it's 23 to6 What She Likes is the running clock because because especially in a warm day like this I mean her per hour
086rate goes way up on the running clock for sure I mean and weekend weekend time running Jill Stevens Jill Stevens on the draw it goes up it's on the ground it Weebles it wobbles Jill is she gonna get her first draw that's all right she's that we've gotten possession after those oh boy that was Ken Marino control the ball kenam Marino you know you're one of my favorites of all time nice catch there no more bad passes for you oh here comes methan yeah this is she's there's no there's not going to be a pass this outside she does arms way extended but we'll take it looked like a little rocker Dodge there and now there it is oh nice save there by Jah Holly yeah she tried to go short side top and High
087Holly was right on the corner where she's supposed to be oh nice little move there by uh that's a nice move there you got to know that's number nine you got to slide to her it's three or n three or nine you can't leave them and six isn't bad either so multiples of three really really yeah 369 where's 12 oh 12's on the bench she's coming in next year probably a sophomore would be my guess so 23 to7 Spartans 5:35 with clock running so we'll play this one out look like the Spartans are going to advance the next round uh which yeah so and they'll have they'll host Melrose here Melrose is the we don't know win though we don't not sure when we don't know how that's going to work told us that the
088second round does begin on Tuesday so it could be as as soon as Tuesday maybe Wednesday yeah it'll be one of those two for sure Jill Stevens on the draw again gonna send it up and she she does Jill Stevens with her first self draw and she's she wants she's defense she's going wants it she's going just shoot it just shoot it Jill just shoot the ball you're on defense you're not going to get many opportunities Hannah taed up on offense let's see if she can get a goal so over to Tru yeah this is it let's see Jill Stevens no don't pass it Jill don't pass it be selfish when you're when you're a Defender and you're up by 18 goals or whatever it is and you get and you actually get a chance
089there we go take her one-on-one see what you can do oh God I can't I can't try to encourage her more than that no you've pushed her as hard as you can let's see if Hannah ta can cut through the middle there and did I like Jill Stevens on a Dodge I do I like I I okay into calab calab fak to Stevens looking for someone cutting through kicks it over to Hannah Taft we gotta get either Hannah or Jill to let it rip we do there's Jill come on oh into Hannah there it is oh Hannah and we're popcorning and possession to methan so that was gonna be Hannah's best chance right there she had it on the doorstep her mom is down there yelling like czy I can't believe you dropped that Hannah
090it looks like T Weiss gets decked uh oh uh okay no trainer's coming out she got she just had a little Collision right there and so probably a little surprised she's going to probably be okay but I think she was shocked to get hit she she's up she's tough you know the Wise Kids you know they uh they usually bounce back it's tough growing up in our household so it is I they usually get up after we've paddled them something like that is that what you were gonna say let's let's just pull that one back let's pull that back from the record please did somebody somebody called Department of Youth Services all right we're now crossing a line all right anyway she's okay she's all right she does look okay and is not does not
091need to go to the trainer she's laughing she's got she kind of when tella laughs you know she's fine yeah and it's usually most of the time I actually think she came out of the game on purpose to spend time with her good friend Megan morno that's probably true I think what I would say because they haven't spent a lot of time together over the last week yeah that's right sure oh wow air mail so it's okay and then we're gonna Grace Howard another cross check we got number three oh good play there by uh Grace Moore to knock that free and uh we're playing field hockey here that's all right and it's uh methan ball we and it goes down to here we go here comes three and nine setting it up trick yeah
092she swoops in and nice play there by I think it was um Ashley beak who got a stick in there really nice really nice defensive play there by beak yeah three minutes left in the game 23-7 Spartans I love I love that oh and they called her on a little excessive nudging I think is the call I don't know what that was so pass in and fired at high uh can't let that happen though through the center of the crease there backed up though by E rle with the ball to now Marino just let's use our speed take it right down or go backwards there we go time SP at that Dipsy do the old Dipsy Doom move I'm going this way no I'm not and then she just gets pushed out of bounds by
093Fitzpatrick who think's got a little frustration going on oh and there's another one and that's going to be a yellow y so the yellow seat is calling your the yellow chair x marks the spot that's that's a frustration fell that's the end and here's the problem with that for her that's the end of her season maybe is she number three a senior number three is a nope she's a junior junior sh me that's good for methan they'll be back I mean she's a very good player a great athlete she'll be back next year but for now y she's gonna finish out her lacrosse season in the yellow chair there are better ways to finish out your season I don't know I mean it's where where Jill Stevens oh she's back in the Middlefield there she
