[Music] take e [Music] all right we are jumping around and getting ready to start the second half the Spartans ahead 13 to one uh against the Northampton Blue Devils and the rain surprisingly enough has not stopped and it's coming down perhaps even harder where do you think the name Blue Devils comes from out of Northampton any ideas on that what would be your thought on that kind of an interesting name Blue Devils like the Duke Blue Devils right but not nearly as successful or the Central Connecticut Blue Devils yeah I mean where where does that come from I mean Red Devils I kind of get is like Blue Devils nicer than a red devil I think the Blue Devil is in some way supposed to be the Kinder gentler devil I mean but where does
that fit in like where where is the Blue Devil in the like yeah the of yeah Humanity I don't really know but it's interesting as to why schools do choose their nicknames back in you know in the day oh it's wee blin look it with a race and boom she wants it she's not going to get it though she couldn't get a nice play there by number 15 here come oh all right that is really inappropriate sorry folks the wheel Cali with a major push down into the wet Turf oh boy oh boy oh boy it's going backwards it's going forwards it's going around it's on the ground and it looks like it's up mne's got it she's gonna try to speed through go she's got some Wheels that's for sure does she does she
does she's super fast actually there it is a wonderful day it is raining it is wet but they're still playing they are some I mean some of the girls are still over there they don't have sweatpants on or nothing I mean they got shorts yeah oh Jill Stevens went for the goal Jill Stevens with an unbelievable opportunity right there and just couldn't get it done monno picks it up she is gonna TR what's what's she gonna do I think she wants to try I hope so yeah I think that's what she wants to do she doesn't want to really take this she really wants to get Jill Stevens a goal I think is what the goal of that was truly behind the net drops it looks around oh drops it again yeah I think the
rain is C I don't really know it could just be bad lacrosse but who knows Blue Devil wow all right well we got am Rook on Google is French [Music] military I don't know it's kind of this a tough call here let's go take it in there's a roll oh yeah you gota go the prop there it is and Jillian Stevens puts it in and for the Stevens Family at home it is Jillian Stevens not Ali Stevens I know I've made Miss before but that is Jillian Stevens taking it one onone against the Blue Devil jev and she has her first lacrosse goal of her career for the Spartans they are putting jilli and Stevens on the circle giving her this is what we talked about in the first half this is what they should
be doing getting some different players some little different experience it's good to see yeah and I'm seing a little frustration of course from Northampton folks bone came over and uh looking pretty drenched pretty tired pretty frustrated and I'm I'm sure it's tough you know when you're down 15 one absolutely again it's over to Stevens who has it and uh she's she's looking for good catch there it was whor catches everything and a nice laser right past the goalie laser beam top left shelf there it is there's a hug team hug little wet but team hug 23 in counting in the third quarter it is winding down rapidly you know I think if I can have a re one recommend mendation I think what I'd like to see is some of these dances that you see
uh the college lacrosse girls do on the sidelines after goals they have like the Cha Cha Cha yeah and they do like they toss them up in the air and they got all sorts of different dances we need one I I think we not I think we need a few I don't think we need a lot but I would like to see a little more how about they make up like the Spartan Shuffle and they could do like anything something totally agree anything yeah I I agree anything oh nice pass good pass from I mean I think it was a good pass I'm not gonna say it was a bad one not sure fault that was nobody raised their hand and whatever I'd be I mean I'd be surprised if they're gonna get this ball
out at the end of the day I mean this is like it's just not good it's tough y it's just yeah you can't yeah still whacking away I love it yeah they're they're certainly not taking their foot off the gas not not when has anything to say with it and that's you know what that's the way it should be here comes they're going to have to pass it oh gone good play by m the chase let's see if witor brings this in before she passes it she does gets it up if they've gotten that memo they do and here it comes I'm not yeah number 22 has it goes over to monno morno setting up the offense getting it over to mne then clearing out so that mne can have a one-on-one whip getting it
over to m mne then clearing out so that mne can have a one-on-one Whit getting in way there to be doesn't have one yet I don't think I'm not oh there's a good pass there Howard oh just roll Dodge that one there Grace yeah look saina's looking for an opening wants to go to her right for sure you can see that coming got good stick skills she really I'm not lying she really does she's quick she's got a really great footwork a really good first step and can shoot left and sometimes loses the ball a little bit more than she might like but she's got great fakes with that stick good stick skills good footwork can shoot with both hands so yeah Junior will be around next year so yeah clearly gonna be part of
the part of the offense going forward yeah season still very early in the season here very early East low and Northampton I don't think either team's probably real happy about being out there right at the moment not so much weather yeah I'm just looking at the defense and they look a little bit cold and a little bit wet and a little bit bored but that's okay because you'd rather that than Under Fire looks like a little battle nice nice move there by more now to scoop and scoop and go got it this is to let's see if you can put it in so what do you think what's the play here I think it's a full-on charge charge to the net yeah bouncy oh we got a call we got a oh no oh yeah
hold on a bouncer we're calling bounce you going high I'm yeah well down low but oh oh and falls into the crease maybe she'll get another one I don't know what see what happened there yeah that thee fell into the crease nobody called that no that was not on my bingo that was not on the bingo card yeah it's a tough night to bounce off the turf because it's a little bit of a wet slide yeah oh that North player went to fire it and M with the goal there good for her it stayed with that made it play and scooped it up and put it in the bottom of the corner so 17 to one Spartans with 405 left in the third quarter that was Sabina mne it's time for some new glasses Mr
macarini we're getting all sorts of hand signals up in the booth new thing all sorts of hand signals we got hand we have hand shakes we got hugs we got high five we got take out what else do we need we got all sorts of things all right looks like monno on the draw yeah gonna try it I think she's gonna pass it to herself let's see oh look at that oh good call there by Weiss yeah more no no she's looking she doesn't she wants to get the ball to somebody else which is good stens going right oh good pass yeah kind of good idea put she's a Defender you can't believe it other than the fact that honestly if you're up there on offense and you're a defender in a game like this
what are you passing for right coach ain't going to take you out take it to the take it to the house and try to get your goal a good little run oh nice play oh because you might not get another opportunity All Season like in a game like this you gotta this is your time this is your time you gotta one-on-one take it to the house so it looked like a decent play there by Weiss but I think she might have got some head with her stick yeah Soh who knows so we got an eight meter for number 12 on Northampton who is McDonald and she's oh ding dang boom that was Fon there yeah and here Ste let's see if Stevens can take it to the all the way oh good pass though look
at I mean I I I like ster trulio making a move behind the net looking for someone to cut through oh there it is to Cal another move nice another goal there move nice move another goal there positions but she found a way to still get that off gosh we got a minute and 35 seconds in an 18 to1 game in the pouring rain and the freezing cold it's really it's a great night to be announcing great night to be announcing the game just kind of takes over it does and we are you know under shelter so we have to be that thankful for that yeah I mean it is the the one of the many benefits of being an announcer is the shelter yeah the instant replay the the quality of the people we
work with the incredible view up here how old do we think that this uh Booth is that we're in uh I I'd go I don't know looks a little warn 1975 we got a water bottle on the ground that's catching the water leaking from the roof that's for you for later if you need it yeah all right where where who who's into into oh good fake around oh beautiful beautiful shot made a nice uh that to [Music] Wht so wh were I'm gonna go behind the back then pulled it forward and then whistled it past the goalie a little bit of a like a little bit like a rocker Dodge so a rocker Dodge is you kind of rock left and go right and that was kind of what that was that's what it looked
like you kind of slow down rock back and then quickly Rock back right get the defender kind of moving in the wrong direction then you turn and go and so I don't think we're getting this draw off because this is going to be the end of the third yeah I mean I'm hoping not and folks we are going to take a two-minute break here at elcat and we will be back for the barn burner fourth quarter in two and a half minutes don't go away e all right little Ice Ice Baby break ice I break it got actually we got some things going up here we had a little dance off yeah we were look at this we got the girls down here doing a little dance on the sidelines you see trulio down there
after plopping a couple in the back of the net yeah you got macarini busting a move out there it's all good stuff stuff and we are off Thompson winning the draw is off Marino has it looks like we got our most of the starters back in theame started here yeah goes to Jordan Jordan has it slings it it to the back to macarini macarini swings it around I can't see who that is mne mne with her patented like little slow move there kind of Skips up gets that left foot in the air yeah coward has it little oh look at that good stuff got little Syracuse move going here it mne tried to get in there couldn't she brings does a smart brings it back back out that experienced play from that last play Grace
they're doing a little they're learn oh there's a good one oh boy there it is Grace Howard number 22 top left corner 191 East Meadow as Howard gets on the board believe it or not that made it 20 it did what do yeah know so next game is on Saturday against Wayland yeah which should be a tough one right yeah really looking forward you know we got kind of had to mix up we got minog which was a blowout then went out to Walpole which was a barn burner could have gone either way but a good going there byto lost 1110 overtime then they come out to here tonight kind of a blowout and I'm expecting another really solid game on Saturday against whing it's nice to you know get some out of area competition
right good to bring him out west we don't always have to keep going east that's right Thompson with the self draw again to Marino which is nice she gets it she's carrying it up the left hand side takes the left-handed pass to mne mne has it throws it behind the goal to macarini down in the X as they call it that's called The X spot down there behind the goal macarini has been playing that spot for a long time coached by uh Moses and her father before that and that one kind of gets just slung a little bit out of the reach of mne not sure if that was probably catchable and he can't do that that's the same thing that Stevens did yeah just not a bad play but you got to bring that
ball inbounds first and it's a hard thing to remember especially if you're playing other sports it's just not natural yeah right so it's something you really got to think about especially as the season goes on and you get in those crunch moments you don't want to kind of make that mistake right but for right now it's fine senior Thompson has it gets it behind there to mne Jordan who's gonna this is a one-on-one again this is not going to go well for no for the the to Marino which would have looked really interesting kind of a low pass there yeah it goes out of bounds and that is called a to turn over and those are things we don't want to have even in games like this yep yeah this not this yeah she's putting
on the Astro burner there a little penalty yeah here it comes watch your back she's good stick skills here keeping it right in front of her face she might an occasion for Northampton with a nice run there up to uh number 12 back to McDonald oh boy on the ground and here it's picked up by somebody more no oh your daughter oh half half owner some days she's some days I claim her yeah we had an argument this week first time in a long time really yeah to my daughter I hadn't done that in a long time well that's big of you good that you did I felt really mature yeah yeah I did felt mature doing that I don't usually do that so I feel like I'm making a step forward myself do you
you want to talk more about it or not really but I figured you know well now You' just you done a m a culpa for all of East Long Meadows so that's impressive yeah good for you it's you know I feel better about myself now have to think that Megan's GNA be very proud yeah we'll see that's a Tob determined I'll tell you what you know who's having a great night Jenna Holly oh yeah she looks like she is on top of her game down there she's in a full squat on position she is like she's doing like Pilates and yoga yeah I don't even like can we get a quick shot can we get a quick shot of Jenna Hol down there I mean the focus the dedic and the ball is down the
other end you know what I'm thinking I'm thinking Holly Coast to Coast oh hey all right what do you think about that call I think that's brilliant let's see it well do you have her ear you know do she have an earpiece in you can she I mean I should you should tell her try coaching from up here yeah so why not just give all the kids earpieces just with my commentating that would be interesting I think they'd spend more time looking up here than focusing I would say definitely little move there that is that is like a yeah good God Almighty why do you have to hit somebody that hard it's 1920 to one let her go all right then you're running laps ince let's see if she's like going to be able to
pull this together here on the a meter after going like 20 fights without a shot girl dropped it on the way it goes on the ground here we go and it looks like a pong ball knows and it's gonna go and Weiss is on the Move passes it up it goes to Thompson Thompson running with it in front of her flying down the middle is there is there a term for holding it out that way you know there should be like cradling the baby or yeah it should be something I don't know we could make up our own walk the dog walk the dog that's not bad or sprinting with the dog I don't know yeah it could be what kind of dog yeah is it a dotson or is it a Great Dane depends
on the kid running I guess right if they're a little slow oh that was good can she oh the old do twizler she Twizzlers it was a little bit of a Twizzler little bit of it lne one-onone a double she did like a rock forward Rock back Rock forward Rock back and then split Dodge to the left and then kind of like a twister I think they call that the double helix in Lacrosse I don't know what they call 21 to1 with 445 left in this game not that the time is going slowly but it's not is there anything you want to talk get off your chest Josh I don't really think I can you know top what it was that you had to say tonight's the night to do it though I'm here for
you I'm here I'm here for you I would but I think my wife would be mortified so have to keep our family well why don't we CH why don't we test that let's just see how it goes so just say something very personal see how it goes why not see what happens I guarantee you she won't be listening what you lose what's there to lose famous last words what could you possibly lose I know for sure that she won't be listening to this this is uh I mean what I mean you got to think about your batner don't you you do have got to think about your bat absolutely which is a classic negotiation term Jeff yes thank you for sharing no no no problem no problem so in thinking about your batner you should
say nothing yeah I mean because if I say something my bat it changes significantly yes oh yes oh yeah look at this oh another oh wow and that one's gonna go no Ho's Way nobody behind the goal yeah that was nice little move though H it was yeah I I like I like seeing that y I like seeing those moves sometimes in the in the games against the better teams I mean she has graphic and I think if she's going oneon-one or even sometimes like you know there's or or even if there's just a slide sometimes she just gets clogged up in the middle doing that and and then it's ends up being a turnover but man does she have a great first step and just some great skills around the goal I mean she's
a shooter mhm and as you say a finisher right yeah mean she finds the back of the net she can finish okay here we go it's look at the speed oh come on oh good hustle you gotta love the hustle there by absolutely abolutely Ashley be Ashley beak in there was giving it a little whirl too she was trying to get it it just kind of slipped through her stick yeah just a little bit under yeah but good defense nice to see there with beak number 15 out there too that's Grace Mo y nice little move a little too much traffic here we go here we go passes it up mne's kind of got it it's still kind of now she's g a good little scoop up yeah she's using her speed butne I think
is gonna go for a hattrick here oh oh cut back cut back cut oh roll Dodge there would have been nice I would have liked to see a roll Dodge there it's on the ground who's going to get it who's going to get it yeah you can't do that animac can't come over to 140 left in the game yeah I'm sure people are again yeah the some of the fans are just coming in to check the ending out to see what the results going to be they're starting to Pile in is barn burner another sellout sellout crowd despite the conditions J commitment to this team I see mothers and fathers aunts and uncles grandparents sisters brothers stepchildren everything's out there 21 to1 we are in the fourth quarter one minute if you're going to get
a snack hurry up you don't want to miss anything no you don't you don't want to miss it though that is not a good no no no not good not good and then we're on the ground that northampton's way 40 seconds here we go here comes number 20 she's gonna have a long way she's not that look like a pretty good play yeah we're just gonna let that go yeah yeah that's I don't think we're gonna criticize the refs this point no no it's been a tough night for them too it sure has the stop play though which is is good so they're probably dollar per hour yeah they're doing they're on a value they're on a they got a value night yeah absolutely nothing like there really haven't been many calls huh just let
it go yeah shoot let her shoot it I don't know what happened there but Grace Moore picked it up and that has been a pleasure Jamie always Mark M appreciate it we will see you on maybe Saturday but if not we will be here next week y thank you everybody and have a great evening spe
